An intimate and cozy hideaway in the heart of Halifax’s bustling Queen’s Marque district, Peacock is a buzzing wine bar serving an ever-evolving list of labels and tapas-style sharing plates.
It was our first visit here and can’t even explain how tasty the food was and the ambiance was so aesthetic… the drinks tastes so freaking good. The staff was so nice to us. All in all we enjoyed it here and will definitely gonna come back❤️
Cozy wine bar with great selection of wines. Ordered wines and the charcuterie grazing platter, which was fantastic offering a wonderful mix of flavours with three types of cheese, house made ferments, creamed honey and toasted focaccia. Perfect shareable late lunch option.
My husband and I were visiting from Ontario. This restaurant was so perfect! Beautiful design, clean, bright. Great location! Our server was very friendly, kind and attentive. This was the best lunch I have ever had. We did the Long Lunch which has 5 courses. I’ve tried oysters on numerous occasions and have never liked them. These are different and so delicious!! Thank you so much Peacock for a great dining experience!
Love this spot! We came for lunch today and shared a handful of small plates. Our server was super nice too, she was attentive but didn’t make us feel rushed at all. Loved the: - Focaccia with fermented chili butter - Oysters with prosecco & sherry mignonette - Burrata with blackcurrants & chamomile - Lobster roll We’ll be back!
Went for the Chefs Fixe menu with a bottle of wine during happy hour. 5-course meal with an amuse boucue and "pre-dessert". Anywhere with a pre-dessert and a dessert is a win in my books. Meal and service were great.
Came here for dinner for their Dine Around! It was $40 for a 3 course meal and was delicious. From their service to ambience to food, everything was perfect. Our server was attentive and recommended some delicious drinks (Shake Your Tail feather). Would love to come back and try more on their menu!
First time trying this restaurant and won’t be the last. The food and atmosphere was amazing, the service was great. We had the “Red Sauce Sunday “ meal, a three course meal for $45 pp (two appetizers, salad, spaghetti with meatballs and chicken Parmesan, followed by two different desserts) everything was delicious and such a good value. I would go every Sunday for this if I could!
Loved Peacock! The space is gorgeous, our server was attentive, super friendly and gave terrific recommendations, and all of the food was amazing! We had the oysters, focaccia, burrata, grilled beet salad, the scallops and the tonnarelli. Every plate was presented nicely and delicious. Highly recommend!
I would argue the food I have had at Peacock Wine Bar has been above and beyond some of their restaurant siblings in terms of flavour and execution. I wish the kitchen was open just a touch later. Great date night spot.
Vegetarian options: Ordered Kadai Mushroom for the first time and it was absolutely delicious!!! Dal Tadka and Palak Paneer were also delicious!! Credit goes to new chef. Great hospitality !!
Beautiful atmosphere and location, very attentive service.
We love the vibe and setting in this area of Halifax and were excited to try Peacock. Was such a let down and far from a Wine Bar . There was no interaction with the staff about the wines or pairings or best options to try. We ordered a Cab Sauv that was terrible and tasted like a cheap Apothic Red. Taste of the wine obviously wasn t the bar s fault but it was almost undrinkable. The food was of average quality. I had the agnolotti and my wife had the halibut cheeks. Neither of us would recommend our meals, especially for the price. This place touts itself as a high end wine bar, and it simply isn t and totally not worth the money. Go to up the street to Obladee and see what it s supposed to be like!
Way too overpriced. Barely filling, and I was looking for a light supper. I had a non-alcoholic drink and 7 pieces of pasta as part of their large pasta dish $8 for still water. $65 in the end and I had to go looking for more food after.
Must visit in Halifax Vegetarian options: Salad or Lobster? Food : 4/5 |
We came for an early lunch on a Sunday, and it was genuinely one of the best meals Ive ever eaten in a restaurant. Service was friendly and attentive, the food was surprising and the whole vibe of the place was great. Thanks to our server, Mark, and to the chef. My wife was very excited to share this place with me and it was possibly the best part of our visit to Halifax. We cant wait to get back.
My companion and I were greatly disheartened by the dining experience we had at Peacock, possibly our own fault for harbouring lofty expectations for a renowned fine dining establishment. Regrettably, our preferred culinary creation was irreparably marred, bearing no semblance to anything palatable.
An excellent place to share a glass of wine and great food, staff is very friendly, atmosphere is great and location is perfectly on the waterfront
It is a very good wine bar but a Great set of signature cocktails to wake up your mouth
The attention to detail that is observed by this food shoppe is highly impressive. I cannot recommend the Grazing Platter enough - I think I remember counting 21 different elements. 10/10 - cannot wait to return. Matt
went here for mothers day and the service, food and drinks were phenomenal the atmosphere was lovely and we were treated incredibly well
Came for one drink after a meal somewhere else. Could tell our waitress was upset our bill would be so small without food. Service was slow and unpleasant. First time tipping only 15% in a year and half. Will be looking through the window to see if this 40+ year old waitress is working before we decide to enter.
Went back again and had food as well as wine. Was very pleasantly surprised, as the food was superb. I had Agnolotti for the main course.
Not a bad place to spend some time with your friends. Not too many meals to choose but enough drinks . Only 4*.
Im from Montreal and was visiting Halifax. Couldnt have asked for a better experience. Staff knows there wines and knowledgeable about their menu. Enjoy my evening.
Went here for date night for the first time tonight and it was absolutely incredible. Maddy was our server and she was so helpful and provided excellent service. We ordered the tuna tartar and the cheese plate to start followed by the ribeye and papardelle and they did not dissapoint. The cocktails and wine selection was great, something for everyone for sure. Definitely planning on coming back.
This is a great spot. Cocktails are delicious. Food is wonderful. Atmosphere is so cool, cozy and romantic. The service is OUTSTANDING. I cant say enough, I wish I had more pictures to share how great it is. 11/10.
Very cozy restaurant with amazing service! Someone greeted us at the door; taking our coats and bringing us to our table We were a party of 4 on December 27! They even spoke to us in french( our language) We shared pasta plates! And Oysters! Next time we will get the large plates (eg scallops)wine amazing The lady new her wine!
Excellent, friendly and welcoming staff! Unfortunately the wine pairings offered by the sommelier were really not very good and significantly overpriced.. Pleasant experience but I will likely not be back. Food : 3/5
Food and service were incredible! Cant say enough about my experience, 5 stars all around
IF YOU HAVE AN ALLERGY, DO NOT EAT HERE. I have celiac disease and recently went to Peacock for New Years Eve, where I was served gluten for two full courses. I have been sick for two days now. When making my reservation I specified that I had an allergy, specifically celiac disease. When I arrived the first thing the waiter said was that she was aware of an allergy and asked me about it. She clarified that it was celiac and not just a gluten allergy. The waiter went on to assure me that they would treat the allergy very seriously and they had lots of experience with serving celiacs and others with allergies. The waiter walked me through the entire 7 course menu (taking about 10 minutes to order with me) and explained how items would be made gluten free if they werent naturally so and if I needed to avoid order certain items all together. I was served a first course then on the second course (which was comprised of two dishes) which came with bread. This made me nervous. I immediately asked the waiter if the bread was gluten free. She went back to the kitchen and allegedly confirmed that the whole bread was not gluten free, the rest of the two dishes were and that was why the bread was on a separate plate (for my non gluten free partner to enjoy). Of the second course, I ate the broccolini dish and finished the entire thing which was doused in a creamy sauce. Then I went on to the beef tar tar and immediately felt something crunchy. I looked closer and it appeared to have croutons in it. I asked the waiter about it. She said that there was a pickle crunch in the tar tar. When I insisted she check if the dish was gluten free someone from management came out (I think the assistant manager). The assistant manager informed me that the broccolini dish was covered in a sauce that had gluten in it and when I asked about the croutons in the tar tar she informed me this also contained gluten. While the assistant manager was apologetic, the waiter came across insincere and blamed the kitchen. I later found out there was NO note whatsoever indicating an allergy/celiac/gluten free on my order. I was informed that the manager was there and was given his business card, James Pottie. However, Mr. Pottie did not come over to me at any point to apologize and has still not contacted me. This was the absolute WORST dinning experience I have ever had at a restaurant. No one with an allergy should feel comfortable eating here as their wait staff clearly does not understand the seriousness of allergies and the health implications that follow. They did not make us pay for the meal, however we were not offered anything else. They took my phone number but no one from the restaurant has contacted me to apologize.
Enjoyed my Arctic char there, we were planning to order a second round of drinks, however the sever was rushing us out once we finished our main, although the restaurant wasnt even busy at that time.
Overall a really good date night. Our servers were excellent and very attentive. However we would have expected a sommelier considering it is a wine bar. Wine knowledge was very basic and no experience was provided. The king oyster mushroom appetizer was drowned in batter and the beef tartar was heavy on the dill pickle croutons so you couldnt even taste the beef. The rest of the meal was more average than outstanding. Overall I would have expected more wine bar vibes and was a bit disappointed how little attention the wines got. Still a great place for a date night, lovely ambience and great service. I definitely would go again but more likely for an appy and cocktail.
Delicious food, beautifully presented, and great wine pairings. The location too is superb, overlooking the Halifax waterfront.
We went with friends and had wonderful wine and food. Staff were very knowledgeable about the various wines and made recommendations for pairing. The food was delicious; atmosphere was lively and the staff were very personable and added to the overall experience. I highly recommend Peacock.
Excellent, imaginative food
Amazing tasting menu on New Years Eve. So delicious. The Oysters and Lobster were particular stand outs. Exceptional. Recently enjoyed Dine Around pre fixe menu. Great value with some old favourites. Wonderful atmosphere and attentive service.
Fantastic restaurant right on the waterfront of halifax. Atmosphere and service is great, and the food is absolutely exceptional. This is my new spot to dine out at every time Im visiting halifax.
lovely warm friendly service, amazing location on the waterfront and really fun atmosphere. the oysters are to die for!
Peacock offers a fantastic dining experience. There are always fresh and innovative seasonal dishes to choose from along with a number of delicious staple dishes. The food is beautifully crafted and the restaurant has the atmosphere to match.
Stopped in for drinks after dinner in the area. What a lovely addition to the area! Service was great and it had a really funky vibe. My only complaint was the wet mop smell as soon as you walked in.
Cocktails were great. The oysters were underwhelming and not worth the $25 in my opinion.
James and Moira have assembled a great team that execute an elevated and fun dining experience without pretension. I had the opportunity to try 6 items from the latest menu, and all were fantastic. This is a great place to visit if youre down to dabble across the menu, enjoy excellent wine pairings, and take in the vibrant nature of a busy room with the flair of the eponymous bird.
Nothing but love for Peacock! Ive been a few times and have always had exceptional service (shout out to James and Alice!), and phenomenal food paired well with great cocktails, wine or mocktails. I love that its just as cozy for a dinner with friends, to a date night, to popping in on your own. I just had the charred fingerling potatoes, grilled beet salad and squash agrodolce dishes and couldnt pick a favourite if I tried!
Great new wine bar in Halifax. SOMM James is a gem. So many delicious wines by the glass. Order the oysters because they are topped with Prosecco foam. The steak tartar is so good with a little horseradish in the dish. The halibut cheeks .. yum. Shout out to Laura as well. !!!!
Wow. The service here is the best I ve experienced in the world! James is an absolute gem. So accommodating and like a friend. Paige was an amazing host, an absolute goddess going above and beyond for us and always checking in. We loved it here and will be back! Perfect for oysters, drinks, and a yummy pasta.
Lamb, fish and oysters are delicious Two glasses of red wine are good Overall very good Small portions & not many choices
Amazing food and atmosphere! A must try! Customer service was superb!
Wow, the food here was not impressive at all! I am certainly surprised by that, and sadly, disappointed, because I thought the food *would* be fabulous. The dishes I had were mostly tasteless and uninteresting. The pricey pasta plate I had tasted like boxed pasta, but apparently it was homemade. Anyway, there are many other restos I would recommend on the waterfront. The best part: the wine and the company! (Edit: I will give it a second chance, one more time, perhaps for lunch.)
Superb art deco bar restaurant. The dishes were delicious but above all the barmaid made incredible cocktails, we were seated at the bar and we were able to enjoy her talent all evening, she is a true drink goddess! At reception the hostesses made us feel remarkably welcome. I recommend this restaurant for a date or a reunion with friends.
Tara, at the bar, was full of great insights and knowledge about wine and mixed drinks. A true professional. Bravo young lady.
What a fabulous experience tonight checking out Peacock Wine Bar. Such a cool vibe with hip decor and an extensive wine list! From the moment we walked in , James the GM and sommelier was there to meet our every need. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was very relaxing. We tried the focaccia bread, polenta fries and lamb ravioli. All had such an amazing flavour. We ended the night with their tiramisu which could very well be the best I ve ever had. We will definitely be back to try more of their amazing menu!
Everything on the menu sounded delicious we had a hard trying to decide so my friend and I chose the feature dishes and we were not disappointed. The atmosphere at Peacock is stunning and our server Alice was an absolute gem! She was so attentive and lovely; really went out of her way to make our first visit memorable. We cant wait to come back and try the regular menu!
The food and wine are delicious! We both really enjoyed the ravioli and cavatelli pasta dishes. We ordered the large of both dishes and found the food was a little pricy for what we got but the quality was very good. The inside of the wine bar is stunning however the tables are so close together that it makes it incredibly loud inside. It felt as though we were eating with the people sitting next to us. We found it hard to hear each other and have a conversation, so for that reason I would give it a 3 star rating. For the amount we spent on dinner I would have liked a bit more privacy so we could enjoy the meal more.
10.5 hours (part one) to go and Cassandra, Madison and Kayleigh made our time!
Incredible food, amazing staff and service. Will come here every time I visit Halifax!
Great location, nice decor, excellent and friendly service but food underwhelming in flavour and value.
Loved it! Paige our server was fantastic! Oysters were chef s kiss prepared and tasted great! Would recommend
Great food, great wine, great service. Will definitely return!
Dropped in for the first time the other day. Great selection of wines. We didnt have any food, so well stop by another time and get some food as well. This may turn into our pre Neptune theatre nights. We found it very inviting and the staff were friendly and easy to talk with if we had questions.
Having cooked professionally for the better part of 30 years now it amazes me what people will accept. Went to celebrate mine and my partners birthday and ordered a few small plates to share. Apparently when you order a 25 dollar steak tartar you are just meant to spoon it into your mouth, not a lick of bread to be found as would be with any other steak tartar you d find on the planet so good thing we also bought focaccia. Garnish with that wasn t great but was good with the beef. The grilled beet salad had not a flavour of grill let alone any seasoning. The halibut cheeks were ok but cold, the highlight of the meal. Actually, the highlight was the olive oil cake which they sent us for the occasion. No chance of ever darkening this door again that s for sure.
Nice quaint place to enjoy some wine with a waterfront view. Service was impeccable. Very friendly staff.
I recently had the pleasure of visiting The Peacock wine bar in Halifax, Nova Scotia, and it was an absolute delight. The atmosphere was incredibly ambient and relaxing, setting the perfect tone for a memorable evening. I had the opportunity to try some of their unique drinks, and they truly blew my mind with their flavors and presentation. The talented artists they feature added to the overall charm of the place. While I didnt get a chance to sample their food during my visit, Im eagerly looking forward to returning and exploring their culinary offerings. If youre in Halifax and looking for a perfect spot to unwind and enjoy a chill evening, I highly recommend visiting The Peacock wine bar. Its an experience you wont want to miss!
If you ever lived in Montreal, now find yourself in the maritimes, and miss the Montreal food and wine scene... GO HERE and ask for JAMES!! We went for our anniversary and had just the best time. We were very well taken care of, had some delicious food (oysters, teak tartare, pappardelle, and lamb sausages were A M A Z I N G) and had some really special wine. James has a really thoughtful wine selection and a vast knowledge to go along with it! The food pairings he suggested were bang-on, and his thoughtful touches made us feel special and well taken care of. We got used to being spoiled with a lot of wine to choose from in Montreal and have missed that variety terribly since moving back to Nova Scotia. We went here on a whim and had the best dining and wining experience weve had since leaving Montreal. Cant recommend this place enough! Bravo, Peacock! And thank you, James, for taking such good care of us on our visit to your restaurant!
Great restaurant! Seasonal menu, great attention to detail and high quality food. I had the scallops and the cucumber salad - both were outstanding. Service was also helpful and polite. Will absolutely be back.
As always , we had an amazing experience at Peacock. The atmosphere is amazing as well as all of the staff esp. our server Tara who was so very knowledgeable and personable. Of course the food was INCREDIBLE and lastly James and his attention for detail, we cant wait to return!!!!
Great atmosphere and service but your funds disappear quickly
We didn t have any food as we were just stopping by for some wine. Our server had great recommendations and made sure we were taken care of.
Just had dinner here with a few friends and was really impressed! The food is absolutely amazing. The oysters were the best Ive had, and Ive had a lot of oysters over the years! The apps and mains all very flavourful and the tiramisu was a delight to finish off. Our server was fantastic as well. Well definitely be back to try all the dishes we didnt get to!
Amazing atmosphere and service, delicious food, and very tasty drinks!
Such a great experience, food and drinks were carefully thought out and perfectly executed
Shane is a cutie. Xoxo -Ben
A beautiful space offering an amazing experience!
What a spot!!! Amazing time loved Laura our server, Moira and Shane the chef were beyond! Beautiful time Highly recommend!!!!
I had the following: oysters, heritage tomato, popcorn grits, summer squash salad, tubetti pasta, tiramisu, pizelle mille feuille. I can honestly say they were all delicious. For dessert I think I preferred the pizelle over the tiramisu, but if you like a bit of bitter coffee flavour you ll swing towards the tiramisu. For the other courses I d say my favourites were the popcorn grits and the heritage tomato but we re splitting hairs here. We also had a couple of cocktails and they were very good. Great food, great atmosphere. I will definitely be back.
What an absolutely outstanding experience! Our first time in, and the GM James gave us an unforgettable experience! From the first to the last course, each was as unique and delicious as the last. The standout was the arctic char, and lamb. The wine menu is vast and has a bottle for everyone. The decor is slick, and intimate. Tara our bartender was charming and helpful. An incredible addition to the Queens Marque and Halifax. I would recommend this wonderful spot to anyone, and I will definitely be back, 10/10 Vegetarian options: Lots of amazing vegetarian options on the menu Dietary restrictions: Super accommodating of various dietary restrictions
Had a really great time at Peacock the other night. The food and drinks/wine were delicious, and our server Kassandra was amazing. Looking forward to going back.
Service, atmosphere, wine & food deserve 5 stars. You need to check this new place out!
We had an absolutely delicious meal at Peacock. From the cocktails and wine to start right to through to dessert we were constantly impressed. They were extremely accommodating to food allergies and offered exceptional service. We will definitely be back soon.
We frequent the Freehand Hospitality restaurants (Drift, Bar Sofia and Café Lunette), and often bring guests to all three. We were so excited for Peacock Wine Bar to open, so I booked a reservation as soon as I could and brought our out of province visitors with us, they had an early flight the next day so we reserved for 4pm. We arrived at the scheduled time and the staff were all still eating dinner when we walked in; the GM was audibly angry that we were there saying, who are they? to one of the staff who said they are our 4pm reservation, and he returned with its not 4pm yet! while holding his dinner on a plate. It was in fact, 4pm. They then held their staff meeting in the corner by our table while we looked over the menu. This obviously tainted our entire experience. The by-the-glass wine list is no different from what you can obtain elsewhere in the city. I cant speak to the bottled list as we didnt order from this. Our server didnt know about the wines when we asked for more information. The food was good, but heavier than we expected - we ordered the focaccia, crispy shrimp, east coast oysters, crystal fried oyster mushrooms, bufala mozzarella, potato & parmesan agnolotti, and the papardelle. Not to be boastful, but with our visitors here we spent over $1500 between the four Freehand Hospitality restaurants this week. I was very disappointed at how we were received by the staff at Peacock, and we most likely wont be back.
When a new place opens is easy to fall for the hype and good reviews (usually from friends and family) so here is my honest review of my time at this restaurant: 1. There is absolutely no reason to give your money to a business that s going to treat people based on their looks. While my friend and I were treated very well, I could witness how they treated an older couple that was dressed more casual. 2. If you advertise as a wine bar, people will expect to go there and get to try different wines that what they can find at any other restaurant, and while you re allowed to charge whatever price you want, the extra cost of the same offers for no reason just seems non sense. 3. Food and cocktails are just good. Good is not bad right? Except when you present yourself as a high end option in the city. 4. You don t want to spend more than 80 dollars for a meal and give a big tip when staff is not properly trained or they don t even know how to respond to basic questions about the food and drinks. I really want this place to thrive and give us another option for a wonderful experience in the city but unfortunately as it is now it just seems like expensive for no reason.
Im from Toronto, 4 days visiting Halifax. Peacock is the top 2 restaurant I recommend to eat or hangout.
Absolutely delightful from the start of the afternoon to the late evening! The food, wine and service are top top class. The plates were so delightful and a perfect pairing to the wine and cocktails. We went for an early dinner then later returned for a glass of wine to top the evening. A perfect spot for any occasion and I will surely return for more. The best of what is to offer at the Queen s Marque!
I had the most lovely experience here! I went with some friends for an early dinner. Our visit was wonderfully curated by the staff from drink recommendations to food pairings. The atmosphere was fantastic. I felt so taken care of. The wine list is great but to stop in just for a drink would mean you are missing out on exceptional and delicious food. We had such a good time that WE CAME BACK later that night for another round of drinks and snacks!!
Fabulous restaurant! My favourite in all of the Queens Marque area so far. James the GM is a gem in the city- so hospitable and knowledgeable of wines and food and beverage in general. He and all the staff offer 5 star service. The Chefs here are top notch. The ambience of the space is elegant and funky all at the same time. Well done, Freehand Hospitality!
Terrific decor and atmosphere. Lovely and knowledgeable team. Zucchini salad and lamb pasta were highlights for me. Amazing wine list!
Came in with friends a couple days ago, food was tasty, lots of great pairings for an extensive wine list. Staff are really nice and very personable. Music and ambience was on point. My friends and I had such a good time we actually came back later that night! Awesome job!
A great view of one of the nicest waterfront courtyards
Terrific service and food. Will be back
Everything I tried was delicious, but the chicken schnitzel was a big surprise! I ll definitely be ordering that again. The waitstaff was accommodating and knowledgeable. The design was lovely. A fun and unique bar that I will be recommending.
Great decor! Really nice menu which had a ton of vegetarian options and they were so good. Im not exactly a vegetarian but everything we had was so good I didnt really notice most of it was without meat. (some great meat options too ;))
Excellent food and selection of wine and cocktails. Great service and atmosphere. Will definitely be back soon! Kid-friendliness: Brought my newborn with me and he seemed happy, they made room for the stroller and there were changing facilities.
My group of 4 friends had a great time and tried a number of dishes. My favorites were surprisingly the vegetarian options on the menu (Im not a vegetarian): ie the pickled apricot and Buffalo mozzarella salad. Glad to see numerous options on a menu that would sway a meat eater! We already booked for another visit. One thing I would suggest is for the wait staff to be more trained on the wine list, ie pairings with meals, tasting notes, etc. the wines on the menu are not cheap, therefore one would expect as part of the wine bar experience to be educated and presented with options that would pair well. And when questioned, the staff should be able to elaborate on the wine region, terrior, grape, comparison to other wines, etc. This place would also do well with a set course + wine paring option.
I was so excited to try this place! We got all dressed up to go to the wine bar - the host was super unfriendly, which was a bummer. But the decor and the ambiance is absolutely stunning! Our waitress was great! The manager also checked in on us making our experience overall wonderful. We tried several different dishes and dessert and most of the food was delicious. Wheelchair accessibility: Everything is on one level and pretty spacious.
Great atmosphere, friendly and competent staff, great selection of beverages, absolutely delicious variety of food to please any palate. All round wonderful dining experience, certain to become a returning customer!
We were visiting from Ontario and this was our first visit to the Halifax waterfront dining experience. It was time well spent. A nice place to unwind. They are new, but you wouldn t know it. Food was good, decor fresh and with a nice exotic rainforest vibe and the waitstaff welcoming and competent.
Helpful in making reservation and very accommodating when we arrived early. Excellent atmosphere and excellent service, good selection of interesting drinks. Decent food menu. Overall, prices were quite reasonable. We tried two of the shareable plates which were listed by ingredients on the menu. Focaccia bread was very good, fairly large quantity for the price. The second dish we tried on the menu was listed as Caviar butter with a few other ingredients including radish following. We expected a spread / dip based on that, but the actual dish was primarily large raw radish wedges on top of a light drizzle of sauce with some caviar in it. It wasnt a terribly successful combination unless you really like raw radish. Menu should change to reflect that this dish is mostly just raw radish. Overall, good experience and would definitely go back to try new drinks and their other food.
Untrained staff. Oil-bathed buns for my sandwich. Nice interior design, which is probably the only reason for the restaurant to charge as much as they do. Not a high-end dining experience as marketed.
Terrific location, ambiance and wine selection. James and Tara s service is exceptional. Looking forward to returning soon!
Phenomenal menu! Excellent selection! & extremely accommodating for a celiac! Best gluten free accommodations in Halifax! Very impressive and the staff were beyond friendly.
One of the best meals Ive ever had. The staff was so friendly, made us feel at home. as a celiac, finding gluten free meals is never easy, but Peacock made it safe and so very yummy! Also their non-alcoholic wine options were (pricy) but so delicious!! Dessert was delicious sorbet and tiramisu!!
Oysters were 10/10 Drinks were 7/10 Server was nice, and they allowed us to go in 45 mins earlier than our reservation which was super accommodating. Service is slow but it was extremely busy.
Stopped in for a couple drinks and was very impressed! Beautiful spot with excellent service and cocktails. Food smelled amazing too. I ll be back James!
Nice atmosphere and good wait staff but the food does not come close to the cost and time investment asked of you. The menu seems to have been constructed to make it sound fancy and exotic instead of just making good tasting food.
Loved the decor inside. Beautifully done. Service was excellent. Food was also delicious. Started with crystal fried oyster mushrooms. For the main I had the agnolotti which was also delicious. Very flavourful dish. My only complaint is that the pasta was slightly thicker than I would have preferred. It made the agnolotti slightly chewy. Would still go back to this location and highly recommend
This place is Awesome. Food is great and drinks are delicious. Super cozy and good vibes . Don t forget the tiramisu desert, its really good
Imaginative menu, super wine list and really excellent service. Peacock lost a star because i was underwhelmed by my main course - Arctic char, the flavours of everything else on the plate were overly strong for the fish, and it could have been more fresh. But they compensated well, took it off my bill and gave us some free sorbet, and everything else was so great. I would definitely go again.
Good food, great atmosphere and superb staff makes for a very nice evening
This meal was phenomenal! We had amazing service from Tara who was enthusiastic and gave us great recommendations. We got the focaccia bread, bufala mozzarella, oysters, squash agrodolce and the potato and Parmesan agnolotti. Everything was easily shareable and we couldn t stop raving about how good the food was. Can t wait to be back!
Service, atmosphere, food, and wine all 10/10. Would highly recommend.
I normally enjoy less poshy wine bars since I really am there for the wine;) but our server yesterday made me feel like I was in an authentic cool vibe wine bar. Being from Montreal and my boyfriend living here, I really enjoyed her recommandations and great service all night. Dont know her name but she is from Quebec as well. The wine list is not that great and the food ok but in Halifax I would say its one of the few places where I can speak wine with lovers of the grapes.;) We had much fun and thank you for everything nice wine bartender person.:) Vegetarian options: Nice fish !
The waitress Browyn was great. Disappointed in the oysters they were overdressed, would not recommend. I appreciate that it s a wine bar but there was no beer on tap. It was a bit loud but it was a nice vibe.
Absolutely incredible meal, the lamb might be the best Ive ever had. Great service and the vibe was awesome. Love to see this in Halifax!
Update went again: Thursday 8pm (decreased a star) Cocktails were good! But Buffalo mozzarella didn t have enough sauce (what s the point if there s no sauce ) and the pizelle Mille feuille arrived looking really sloppy (this time was plum) the whipped ricotta was a sauce, everything was soggy Service amazing, decor beautiful, drinks delicious, buffalo mozzarella dish heavenly 11/10, the Mille feuille (I m about to order a second order), .and then the chicken schnitzel -2/10 it was horrible, dry, not crunchy, and the sauce was bitter, yuck (also not cute but that wasn t the issue) stay away from this dish. Heard this place isn t good for food, 6pm on Friday and it s 1/4 full, maybe improve the food and the people will come
Fun cocktails, funky decor and friendly staff.
I ve been here several times for different occasions. Very nice place for a date night or for work-with-wine time. I love the interior design, good place for a beautiful pictures as women like to take Mozzarella with tomato is definitely my favorite, haven t seen any place to cook it that way! Also tiramisu is worth to try!
Amazing dining experience. Fantastic cocktails with delicious and inspiring food. Vegetarian options: Many menu items are vegetarian Dietary restrictions: Staff checked multiple times about dietary restrictions
Amazing place for a date night!! Food is great but the tiramisu is too good a must try !!
