No happy hour anymore, only happy hour is on the beer they make in house, food is mediocre, fish and chips is good there. Bar staff is great, will not be back until happy hour is back.

The steak was rare and not well cooked and lost my appetite, The service is ok not the best but ok and the atmosphere: plain not really anything special or any decoration the food was slow for how it was cooked and no seasoning, the place also had a weird smell to it and the bathroom was dusty other than what I just put it s ok

Had a couple of beers at the bar while listening to some live music. The staff was helpful in choosing pints for my mood.

Had the taccos with a beer. Friend had the fish and chips. Im from a fishing community and the fish was spot on ! Nicely spiced fries. Very friendly service. Nice atmosphere. We went right at opening so wasnt busy at all. Will go again.

Marshall was a great bartender/server.. friendly, attentive and makes a great Caesar.. big shout out to the kitchen staff the food was SO GOOD! We got the chicken burger and a reg burger and both were fantastic. Above average. The deep fried Oreo dessert was so good as well!

The Auction House is an annual stop for our family when headed to Neptune during the holidays, and we ve always had enjoyable meals. Our latest visit left us underwhelmed. Servers were friendly and helpful when we flagged them down, but had to flag down anyone we could for cutlery after all meals were delivered with not so much as a napkin on the table. We ended up paying with the bartender when nobody returned to our table with the check. And if you re going to seat people in the front window in December, someone needs to turn the thermostat up. But the real disappointment was my main Bangers . I realize this is their take on a pub classic, but for $21 I was hoping for more than two sausages on a small serving of roasted potatoes, and a small serving of onions on top. A vegetable or side salad would have at least made this feel like a main dish. Photo is exactly how it was served, would barely fill a side plate. Classic pub fat doesn t need to be pretty, but it should at least be comforting, and filling. This was neither. Overall, a real let down from previous visits.

Positives - they have friendly bartenders. That s about it. Went to a happy hour, 2 out of 5 taps on special were not available. The ones which were available were also took lot of time to come by. Food - ordered fish and chips, pretty bland. They should consider adding the seasoning they used for chips to the fish as well. My bartender forgot about the Wednesday special for fish and chips (almost half priced for 2 fish and chips) and it s not there in their menu, only to website. Not coming back.

They were full but the manager found space for us. So accommodating and kind of her. Our server Marshall was amazing. We had all of our needs met and more. The hospitality was a 10/10 and I totally recommend this place to anyone.

Mice everywhere. Waiting staff seemed nonchalant about it which was worrying. Food was awful. However, the servers were all really nice. This place used to have great food... Not sure what happened. The mice problem need to be fixed first though. Disgusting.

Usually go to this bar for their happy hours from 4 to 7 all Day. The server Jonathan is a really friendly guy with a great sense of humour.Try there crispy mushrooms really out of box

My friend and I went on a friday night at supper (on St. Paddy s day) and got in right away! The service was amazing as busy as they were, I dont remember the servers name but it was a blonde girl, she was a sweetheart:) she checked on us a bunch. The Chill St. root beer was also amazing! Live music was incredible, great vibes. I got the mac and cheese bites, which werent my favourite but they just werent what I expected I guess. I will def be back soon though!

Was there for a Sunday lunch with my partner. We started with the brussel sprouts, and then we shared the loaded auction fries and the garlic parmesan wings. We had their brunch Caesar deal, and the drinks were decent. The brussel sprouts were freaking terrific, the auction fries were good and the wings were hot and well cooked. But I wasnt a fan of the parmesan on wings! But thats on me. Our server was excellent, quick, friendly and funny. My only complaint is that we sat in a booth on the second level on the left hand side and the tables are too low and too wide for the space. So both my partner and I were locked in there. Ive been there in a previous vacation last summer and had their burger and it too was excellent.

Very good experience! Its really good however one of our dishes was very spicy so ask first! Pleasant and fast service, friendly atmosphere and typical pub setting. Located in the city center just a few minutes walk from the citadel and 10 minutes walk from the maritime museum.

Ordered a strawberry daiquiri for 8 dollars I thought it would be made in-house. Instead I was given a can. Food was ok. Service was ok. Tipping option starting at 18% has effectively insured this will be my first/last visit.

Venture into this establishment only if youre willing to risk auditory impairment. The management remains resistant to moderating the deafening decibel levels of their speakers, despite a chorus of complaints. My server informed me that control over the speaker volume was beyond her jurisdiction. Moreover, escape from the incessant noise is impossible, given every table is situated beneath a speaker. In fact, I fear that my own hearing was compromised during the wait for my meal. To make matters worse, the sonic assault persists unabated even outdoors. I have encountered numerous mentions of this issue, which suggests that this excessive noise level is a recurring concern

Food was good. We had short ribs and a nacho starter. Both were good. Our server was excellent! I forgot to take pictures! We also had Mac and cheese bites as a starter, nothing wrong with them, they were okay. We were there for dinner on Saturday. There was a gentleman playing the guitar and singing when we came in. He finished up shortly after that. He was quite good!

I have enjoyed gpng here for a long time. Lots of local on tap, food is fresh and tasty, and they have tons of live music.

Firstly, I was quite annoyed to have my meal served to me on a cutting board. While bringing me my meal I seen part of it fall off the board and land on the floor. While eating it food spilled off the board onto my clothes. No condiments on table, lack of staff, bugs buzzing around while eating, not enough flavour in the food

Saturday @ 1700. Jerk Pork Tacos. Tasted like the meat had the flavour rinsed off with water before it made it to the plate. Grey meat spread on a taco of stale veg. Had to ask for ketchup, utensils, napkins. The server eventually came and took the vinegar away for another table. Music drowned out any human interaction at the table. First time & last time in one shot.

Nice place for some good happy hour deals on drinks, food is a bit expensive but what youd expect for a downtown establishment. Nice place for groups and they have live music which is just lovely!

I was expecting better

A friend and I decided to go here before a hockey game. I order the Dill Chicken Schnitzel ($18) described to be a chicken breast breaded and fried with dill gravy, garlic mashed potatoes and seasonal vegetables. The schnitzel was smaller than a chicken cutlet and half of it was hard crusty batter. The meat was not pounded flat like schnitzel should be. The potatoes were meh, probably less than a cup and didnt have much of the promised garlic flavour and the seasonal vegetables looked more like something out of a freezer, and were also a very small portion. My whole meal was smaller than my friends burger. I dont plan on coming back here ever and wouldnt recommend ordering anything other than a burger, but then there way better burger places in town at much lower prices. Only thing that was worth the two stars was the friendly wait staff.

We had a reservation for 12 for a birthday and we were really disappointed with our service. After ordering our drinks we had multiple missing and mixed up throughout the table. After finally ordering our appetizers and main courses it all came out together - however missing two of our guests main courses. After 30 minutes of waiting for those dishes I spoke to the manager who didn t correct or even apologize for the poor service. He directed our server to come over and address the issues. Neither were fixed and no compensation was offered for the missing main dish or mixed up drink order. After 2 and a half hours of being there we were never checked on or offered another drink. We left disappointed and paid full price for all dishes including the one that was 30 minutes late. I would no t return to this place especially as a large group. Very disappointing experience unfortunately L.

Good food. It was not busy at all. Server was attentive. Had the spinach dip. Love the curry flavour. Cauliflower bites were massive.

Was in Halifax over the weekend went here twice! Was served By Two different Hannah s on two separate visits they were so hospitable and friendly, they showed us the meaning of East Coast Hospitality! The drinks were great! The prices fair! Food good! I fully recommend this place to locals and visitors alike!

Amazing staff, amazing food

This used to be one of our favourite places to go downtown. The food was always tasty and service was attentive. We recently went back for the first time in 2 years, and while I do give consideration for pandemic difficulties, I dont think that explains this. We arrived just after 9 and asked for a table for 2. We were sat at the end of an empty group table. Waited for our server for drink orders. Easily 20 minutes went by and another couple was sat at the table next to us, who had a server for drink orders very quickly. We mentioned we had not yet been served, and a different server finally came and we placed both drink and food orders. My drink never showed up, until we reminded the server when the food arrived. I had ordered the steak frites, which was very, very peppery. No one checked on us. The bill came, and it seemed they charged us extra for the fries (why would fries not come with the steak frites), but at that point we just wanted to leave. It was overall, very disappointing.

By for the best food experience we have had so far in Halifax area. Service was quick and friendly. Musical entertainment fantastic on Friday night. Would definitely recommend spending some time here!

Way more than pub fare! Not super fancy, but a varied menu, fantastic cocktails, great service. Try the propeller Galaxy burger or the pork tacos! Highly recommended.

First off, on a beautiful Saturday evening, hardly anybody was there, and we should ve taken that as a hint. The mozza sticks left more to be desired and the mac n cheese bites didn t have much flavor. My chicken was burnt to a crisp and swimming in mayo. My moms croissant was dry as hell, the avocado spread was brown, but the shaved turkey was ok. My dads galaxy burger was ok. Only good thing was the fries and the fact that they had Diet Coke. Don t recommend!!!

Fast staff and a range of vegetarian options, including fake meat and other proteins. Unique drink selections, including Redbull margaritas, flavourful mojitos, and fun shooters. Nice outdoor patio as well. Vegetarian options were not marked on the menu.

Order a few appetizers and drinks to try the place. Didnt want to stay long. Order mac and cheese balls, cheese dip, truffle fries. Got a mac and cheese meal instead of the balls, drinks were ok, except the water tasted off... Like soapy. The cheese dip camp with one cut up small pita, couldnt even make a dent Im the dip. All of the food was very underwhelming. Expected pub level of food quality, it was significantly less. Wait staff was friendly and cautioned away from the crispy mushrooms... Not sure how bad they were to be worse than the other food. Other drinks met expectation.

I ve been anticipating going to Auction House for a while now, but sadly had to leave after receiving no service. Tried to flag down a server but either no one was around or others appeared to be hangin at other tables, not really concerned about the rest of the pub. Maybe they were new and didn t really know what was going on?? The place wasn t busy at all so it was unfortunate that we couldn t seem to get any service. Butttt anyways, maybe you ll have better luck!

British Pub styled place...that had no beer on tap. Wouldnt be so bad if I hadnt experienced this before. Staff is plenty friendly, and the bars faults have to do with management. Dont bother showing up for the live music if the Dome is open. The Dome drowns out the music.

No problems with the food, it was actually delicious. Our service was friendly but very slow and did not check on us during our meal. They got my drink order wrong, and we never got the water we ordered with our meals Food : 5/5

Not the best experience. As soon as my boyfriend and I walked in there was loud obnoxious pop music blaring. I had to strain to hear my boyfriend speak. It took awhile for our orders to be taken. Likely because of the loud music, my order was misheard and came out wrong. I did not want to wait any longer so I just ate the incorrect order. Wait staff barely checked on us and no napkins were given for our messy burgers. We had to go ask someone to provide us with some. I really should not have given a tip but felt bad not doing so. Things need to change. Food was mostly good but service was terrible.

We arrived at 5pm and there was a musician singing and playing a guitar at the end of our table. We asked to move they took us to the back, where it was 80 degrees and we still couldn t hear ourselves speak. We had to leave. Who has a loud musician at 5pm??

The music here was really nice, they had a solo live musician playing last night and was really talented. Great atmosphere. Now, for everything else. Food was, food, no complaints, it tasted like food but wasnt winning any awards. Service was, we had 2 waitresses, and they took care of us well, it was also not super busy for a Saturday night. They got my order wrong but who can complain about French fries. The only real thing I didnt like while I was there was, when I had to go to the bathroom. First of all, going to the bathroom there is a side office, with people staring at you. Imagine if I was a young woman being stared at by some 50+ year old dude while standing in line to use the washroom, nah. Second, one of the bathroom doors didnt even work, isnt that some kind of OSHA violation? Lastly, the total items ordered were 2 burgers with fries, 2 beer and 3 vodka cranberry drinks for me and my wife. $97. So at least not super expensive.

Very rude service, the manager made us pay our bills and kicked us out because they wanted to close early. My friends and I will never go back, we were a group of 8.

Had a good experience there and they have tasty foods. Menu is not pricey and their service is fast and staff are welcoming and professional.

Went for Brunch Sunday afternoon and was very dissapointed. Egg shells in the eggs Benny and the eggs with the steak and eggs were wet and burnt. Coffee also tasted burnt. Waitress was kind enough to comp the eggs Benny for the shells. Giving a 2 for this reason.

It has a great vibe but it was a little cramped in there. They sat us to a table in the corner which was uncomfortable for my boyfriend because he was really tall. On wing night its basically $1 per wing ( that is like regular price so its not really a deal)

They had the best burger week burger a couple years ago but subsequent visits have been mediocre. The new brunch menu has a lot to be desired. Chicken was cooked to death.

This place has an identity crisis (which, according to our server, they will be addressing soon with an internal re-fit). It WAS a British style menu, they scrapped that and their new menu is anything but British (the menu is eclectic to say the least). But the pub interior and the sign outside are very British. In other words they have given up on the British theme but the pub itself needs to be changed. We had a bottle of local Tidal Bay for $35 (very fair price) on the lovely patio. See pic.

My wife and I went here for our anniversary brunch this morning. The manager let us sit in the cabana, which was only for 8 people but they made an exception for us today. They surprised us with a Mimosa each, on the house. The waitress was great and the food was also great, as usual.

WELCOME TO FALVOUR TOWN! You will NOT be dissatisfied . My whole family liked the vibe and the food. They mostly had a good music selection and the waitress was delightful. they allow dogs on the patio and even gave my dog complementary water. The one thing that was disappointing was the falvour of the water gross - anonymous .overall amazing!

Went for the happy hour. Drinks were extremely affordable and the atmosphere was chill. The live music was very loud for the small space that youre in but if youre going for the music its perfect.

Love it. Food is better than regular pubs. Homey atmosphere - great for get togetherness. Truffle fries to die for.

Called 7 times to try to book a table and no answer. Sent a message on their website and no reply back. Not many options on the menu, long wait to get our meals, and food was ok. The truffle fries were weak, our mac and cheese balls were cold and not very flavourful, and the aioli s weren t great. Overall not bad, but we probably won t be going back.

Too noisy but the food and drinks were perfect and the live music was great!

We visited in October but wanted to give management a chance to respond. We got one email saying they were essentially looking into it but never had any resolution. We were ignored for over 45 minutes to an hour before we captured this image of jerry the mouse on the floor. We quickly left cash for our two empty drinks and went to Dirty Nellys which was amazing. Expected better.

Excellent craft beer selection. They have about 20 beers on tap at all times. For pub food, they do an excellent job. It s almost like a fancier version of pub food but without paying a fortune. They also have happy hour everyday from 4-6 daily.

The haddock was delicious and the drink specials are great! Cozy spot for dinner.

The food is very good, am a little disappointed at the brevity of the lunch menu. Of course lots of taps so a great place to get some beer tasting in. Close but just out of reach of some pokestops, just a quick skip over to the city hall gym.
