Ambiance, food, and service 🤌🏻 Perfect! Makena our server was super nice and friendly, gave us great food recommendations. Crab cake was meh! Salmon was very yummy and red drum fish was good!
I recently dined at the Cable Wharf, and it was an unforgettable experience. The ambiance was inviting and elegantly designed, creating the perfect setting for a relaxing meal. The staff were incredibly attentive and knowledgeable, guiding us through the menu with great recommendations. The food was the star of the show. Every dish was expertly crafted, I highly recommend the whole fish, which was cooked to perfection. The dessert menu was equally impressive, and it was a delightful finish to our meal. I can't wait to return and try more of their delicious offerings. Highly recommend!
The best mussel we've ever had. Stripe bass is very flavorful with hearty veggie. Arctic char is well cooked with crispy skin and tender moist inside. Clam spaghetti is also perfect.
Everything was made perfectly! Very nice view of the harbour. The food was delicious and the service was excellent!! Both kitchen staff, front of house servers and managers do a really great job. It is my first time eating here and both my boyfriend and I loved it!
Top notch venue. Hosted a 170 person corporate dinner here last month and we were all truly blown away. Food was amazing, views were amazing, staff was amazing. Do not sleep on the Cable Wharf!
Delicious food in a relaxing atmosphere. This place was bright and kind of hip. The outdoor area is right on the water and has nice views. The only reason I ding it a little is that waitress forgot my beer, but things like that happen sometimes. I would definitely come back. The restrooms are all unisex, which is great because that keeps waiting in line to a minimum. The draft beer selection was great; lots of area craft brands.
Wow. If you're ever looking for the perfect venue to host an event, this is the place to be! The patio offers breathtaking views that elevate the entire dining experience, and the staff are truly delightful and accommodating. We arrived as a group of 12 (6 adults and 6 kids), hoping to find a spot for dinner. At first, it seemed unlikely since the restaurant was hosting an event and the patio appeared full. However, the staff went above and beyond, somehow finding space for us and eventually fulfilling our request to move to the patio. The view, especially in the evening, was stunning, and the atmosphere was simply remarkable. And then, there's the food. I had the salmon, which was paired with a deliciously fresh and tasty salad. It was cooked to perfection, and every bite was a delight. Our waitress was incredibly friendly and attentive, handling our multiple requests with a smile and without a hint of irritation. Her positive attitude truly enhanced our experience. Overall, this restaurant exceeded our expectations in every way. With its outstanding service, incredible views, and delicious food, we will definitely be back!
A nice waterfront restaurant with a nice ambience, relaxing atmosphere. We came here in the afternoon for a drink, it was very quiet. Our server was friendly and attentive. I ordered the Crab Cakes, it was presented nicely, and was quite flavourful. The portions were small, and it is pricey for what you get.
Lovely ambience with Christmas decorations and sweeping views of the harbour, and we appreciated the fireplace on a cold Halifax night. The pan fried cod was one of the best meals Ive eaten in a long time, and my husbands seared Atlantic salmon fillet was excellent also.
Had a great Xmas party Their service is good. Food was great staff waitresses great service. Many Appetizers served fresh great Desserts
I sat down with my buddy here last weekend around noon. There were two bartenders running the whole place. There was a blonde girl and a taller guy. We just wanted a drink. We were handed menus and were acknowledged by the staff. I watched the time and we waited 20 minutes and were still not served. We walked out
Beautiful restaurant with amazing food! I d highly recommend trying the mussels and fried cod.
Excellent location right in the water front of Halifax. I visited this restaurant on a rainy weekday night and the place was almost empty but the service was amazing and the food was delicious. If you go to Halifax you cant skip this restaurant.
Loved everything about Cable Wharf! Yes there are a ton of awesome seafood options in Halifax, but Cable Wharf has something special. We sat next to the fireplace, had 180 water views, food was outstanding and service was top tier. Perfect location for an intimate dinner or group celebration. Check them out! Thanks for a memorable experience Cable Wharf.
Attended a Recent Weeding there and the place was very good. The fish cakes to the Scallops to the Clams and fish were fun and the beef. The waterfront is amazing. They have unique drinks there too. You can see tour or Ordinary boats going by or if your Lucky you might see Cruise ships. I recommend this fun place for a Special Occasion for Tourists in Halifax for a Special Occasion
The peach salad and oysters taste amazing. The Lobster roll can be much better if its light on the sauce.
We ordered maritime oysters, chowder and lobster roll- amazing!! Especially the chowder.
The clam chowder is the best I have had here in Halifax. The fish and chips were a different story. The batter was tough and could not eat it. Lunch bag let down. Nice location. Not sure I would come back and eat the fish and chips.
Thank you so much to Mel, Rebecca, and the entire staff and team at the Cable Wharf for making our engagement party/surprise wedding this past weekend a huge success! From beginning to end the team was so easy to work with and extremely accomodating. The service provided before and during the event was fabulous. The venue was set up/decorated beautifully and the food was delicious. We could not be happier with our experience! - Maddie and Ben
Say yes to the fresh oysters and fish and chips! Great food and great service on top of a beautiful view.
we had lunch here today Oct 18,2024 and had a problem with one of our orders. my wife ordered 12 oyster rockefeller and we were served a plate of raw oysters by mistake when my wife clearly ordered rockefellers but our server really could not care less, all she would do is blame us for the error.. very sorry she heard us wrong but please do not argue with your customers when mistakes happen..I know that we 100% ordered correctly some in our party of 6 would not eat them raw.. this actually pissed me off and pretty much ruined my meal so I would not plan to return.. unfortunate end to a family day in the city. if it was not for the error made and our servers failure to recover gracefully, the service would have been good.. my friend paid the bill quickly before I had a chance to discuss it with her so I have no idea if we were even charged for that dish.
It was already eight oclock when I went there. To be honest, the space was quite big. I originally wanted to order the whole fish, but I misunderstood. I ordered the red kingfish. It tasted quite like a large yellow croaker, okay? The beef tartare is really hard to describe. There is neither a raw egg on top nor lemon juice for freshness. The experience is very bad. Rosé highly recommends NOVA 7. When asked, it tastes very fresh, with a peach flavor and a sweet texture. I like it very much. When I arrived, it was already 8 oclock. To be honest, the space was quite large. I initially wanted to order the whole fish, but I misread the menu embarrassing. I ended up ordering red drum fish, which tasted pretty similar to yellow croaker. It was alright. As for the beef tartare, it was quite disappointing. There was no raw egg on top, and no lemon juice to brighten the flavor. The experience was quite unsatisfying. On the bright side, I strongly recommend the NOVA 7 Rosé. It had a refreshing taste with notes of peach and a sweet flavor that I really liked.
A must try if you are visiting Halifax, you will taste a great generous dinner while having a wonderful view of the harbor... probably the restaurant with the best view. Outstanding service by the staff and manager , Great vibes.
Upscale restaurant serving sophisticated dishes with well-mastered flavors. Tidal Bay white wine by the glass is great to accompany seafood and fish: dry, fresh and long on the palate with notes of muscat. A treat! The salmon burger is tasty and filling. The crab cakes are a bit small - we could eat 2 more! Very professional service, very warm and friendly. French spoken. The room is superb, bright and nicely decorated. The tables are well spaced. A little expensive, but everything is up to par.
Pretty spot with a sheltered patio (glass surround). It was quite pricey so we ended up only getting a drink each and enjoying the view and sea breeze. Our server was very good!
I had the seared Atlantic salmon . It tasted great but for $32 it was just a small piece and some green salad. Not enough for the money. Should have had a side of carbs with it. Not even a coffee top up you get at smaller restaurants.
Food was good and nice waterfront setting. Service was slow. Seafood chowder was cold. asked for it to be warmed up. Upon return, different server brought back chowder and unfortunately spilled a third of my soup on the floor as she went to place in table and commented it was quite hot. Accidents happen, however at $19 a bowl would have expected some compensation. our initial server was slow in providing service and didnt comment on the soup mishap afterwards. An hour and half for 2 bowls of chowder in half empty restaurant is poor service.
server was olivia, she was incredibly knowledgeable about the menu. as someome with food sensitivities the cable wharf was super accommodating! i really reccomend the smoke stack cocktail
I visited this place many times and I was never disappointed.
Sat at the bar and had a drink. Quite nice spot to have a drink on the waterfront
Very bad, the paella is not fresh! The taste has a strong smell of sea water! The waiter had no idea what was on the menu! And it s extremely expensive! Worst experience ever here!
Spent a long drawn out lunch here this July and loved it! 100% recommend. The harbour view is awesome, big spacious patio, comfy seats, super service. I recommend the sourdough bread, tiger shrimp, mussels, and crispy fries, and for dessert the refreshing mango granita.
Very pleasant staff. The food options were great. Lots of local seafood available, fresh. I would definitely come back here for a second round.
Tourist trap. Beautiful venue but food was awful. Worst fish Ive had in my life. Caesar salad had rotten lettuce.
Beautiful location for lunch in the water. The oysters were really good. It s a bit expensive and portions small, but to be expected
Menue was limited but the food was delicious. Great atmosphere.
Very nice place!! Very good service, we really liked it! We had supper and dinner there!!
Very nice restaurant where we ate twice during our stay in Halifax. Quality and plentiful fish & ship. Very warm welcome with a real effort to serve us in French. The view of the bay and the port is superb
Delicious food served with kindness. Presentation is very nice and the prices are fair for the quality you get. If you want to try something different, this is the place. Portions are not too big but the quality is great.
Very nice food and nice staff
I m surprised there were not more people. This restaurant has a lovely, clean, modern beach aesthetic right on the water on the waterfront. The food is delicious and not unreasonably priced.
Had a phenomenal experience at Cable Warf. Kelsey and Carter our servers were awesome and our meal was so delicious. I have Celiac Disease and I felt I had so many options and felt safe based on our servers knowledge. The incredible view from the patio was an added bonus.Would highly recommend. Dietary restrictions: Very safe for Celiacs.
Absolutely loved this restaurant..sadly only got to visit once. The tuna tartar and seafood chowder was mouth watering delicious. Great patio with fantastic views. Our server, Mackenna (hope I spelt it right) was amazing and very helpful..overall the only thing that was disappointing was they dont serve Corona lol Definitely worth the money to eat there to have awesome service, delicious food and relaxing time. Highly recommend it over nearby restaurants
Fantastic! Great service, food, and atmosphere!
Great spot on the water front for drinks and seafood
Great location with nice design. The food is great for their price. Their seared striped bass is a must try! Will definitely be a regular customer if I live in Halifax! Food : 5/5
Amazing patio! Food was fantastic, will be back again
Not a great choice for someone who doesn t eat seafood. Our food took a long time and was just okay when we got it. The kid s menu items are very expensive for what you get. Kids menu prices are typically $8-$10. Cable Wharf was $15. Overall, we were not completely satisfied and our bill was too expensive for what we got.
Server was slow and did not have answers to basic questions. Lobster rolls were overpowered by onions. (never have either of us experienced that before) I would have sent mine back but I had a guest with me. Way over priced. $64. for 2 lobster rolls. Other food was priced much higher than that. I will not return, nor will I recommend. Its a shame. Very rare occasion for my guest to see the waterfront. Hes unable to walk far, and unfortunately, we chose The Cable Wharf for our special meal together.
Good place to visit anytime of the day. Lots to see and do.
We made a list of go-to restaurants for Halifax and this gem was NOT on it. We are very happy that we still decided to stop for dinner. We had some of the best fish we ate in Halifax, the location is beautiful with a great view of the bay and bridge, and the servers were super attentive and friendly. It was so good that we decided to come back a second time during our week in town! Definitely try their fresh fish of the day!
Beautiful location by the harbor Wish they had more options on their menu The scallop was overcooked but they remade it.
Had dinner and drinks, excellent food! Madison was our server, she was the right amount of attentive and engaging! Great afternoon!
The Bar and Waitstaff were amazing & attentive! The food and cocktails were all delicious
Best restaurant in Halifax, ate there 3 days in a row, highly recommend the seafood chowder
The food here was delicious, we went and got the fish and chips! We didn t know but their happy hour is from 3:30-5:30 and it s a great deal! The service was great and atmosphere was very chic and chill. Would definitely recommend.
Recently renovated, reopened about a week ago and it s such an improvement! The food was excellent, great portions and a kids menu that was fantastic. The service was really lovely, will be back for sure!
Food is never timed right .. always waiting on something for a main item.. loads of cross contamination. Fresh market looks like a grave yard for drying three day old sea food .. managers are like two faced snakes in the grass .. and lets not forget RCR .nuff said right .hashtag .from a cook whos been there
Worst lobster roll and fish & chips I have tried.
The new ownership at what used to be Murphy s Wharf has done a bang up job of creating a clean, bright patio and interior vibe! A concise menu full of riches, a unique yummy cocktail menu, best unencumbered view of the harbour, and the friendliest staff! Phil and Andrew made me feel right at home mid-afternoon on the patio and I can t give the chef and cooks enough props on the clam chowder! You can order this as a meal. It comes with 4 slices of bread and is chock full of potatoes and garnished so perfectly. Highly recommend for any occasion.
Staff and owner very hospitable, food was excellent, and the atmosphere was amazing!
I ate here today and it was a really nice atmosphere, the staff were professional and courteous and the food tasted really good. Beautiful views overlooking Halifax harbour on the historic boardwalk. Mostly seafood but I ate the steak Frites with potato wedges. It came with an interesting dipping sauce for the wedges. The steak was a bit tough but I guess it s to be expected when you are ordering a steak from a seafood place. I had a local craft beer there as well and it was great.
The mussels in Thai coconut milk curry and the New England clam chowder were 10/10 on point. Well seasoned, very tasty, fresh seafood. The ambience and service was great and we will be going back for more.
A wonderful restaurant with an outdoor terrace and a magnificent view of the ocean. Pleasant interior, fast service, the menu is not too large, but all dishes are at the proper level. Good bar menu and reasonable prices, I will definitely come back to try something new from the menu. I was pleased with the open area with fresh seafood, there is a choice.
We just ate here again last night. This place is a bit of a hidden gem and more people need to know about it! They always have amazing service, delicious food and excellent drinks. Will absolutely be eating here again!
The waiter was fantastic and the food was perfect
Great food and great atmosphere. Too bad it was super foggy when we went :(
Our waitress (and the rest of the staff) were very nice and attentive. We sat on the patio, which was beautiful. The food was very disappointing, especially considering the price. The catch of the day was overcooked and did not taste fresh. The smoked salmon and fish and chips were also disappointing. We would unfortunately not return.
I went to the Cable Wharf Restaurant for a late lunch after spending the morning at Pier 21. It was pretty quiet at that time and service was great! I had a table next to the window with a great view looking out over the harbour and Tall Ship Silva. I had the spaghetti with clams and it was absolutely delicious! Initially I was a little disappointed as it looked like it only had 4 clams on it but I quickly realized that there was a ton of clams hiding below the pasta. Great place for lunch with very quick service!
Great food, friendly and helpful staff. Very close to ferry terminal. Had a short stay in Dartmouth, NS. and ended up eating here 3 different times and each time was amazing.
Fantastic venue for live music and harbor tour.
Good food! Spent over 200 for seafood for 2, a little bland seasoning wise but still very delicious.
While the wedding party was awaiting boarding on the tall ship Silva, we popped in to this place for a drink. It was about $38 for 2 drinks, a bit steep if you ask me. Following our drinks we were all standing to the side of their front entrance waiting for a sudden downpour to stop before we could dash to the ship. To our surprise and dismay, the manager came up to us and barked at us unless youre going to come in and order, you cant stand here and you all need to leave NOW! Having already been patrons (in a mostly empty restaurant) it was very uncalled for, rude and unprofessional. Thanks for sending the wedding party into the pouring rain. It really gave the out of towners an awful impression of Maritime hospitality. I guess this is how they treat their customers. Will never return.
Great service, great team and amazing food
The space itself looks beautiful and we were looking forward to coming here. Unfortunately the service was pretty disorganized with long wait times for even just water and utensils. The restaurant was pretty empty when we got there so we were pretty confused how we kept getting forgotten about by the several different servers that all kept saying someone else would be over to help us. Wouldn t recommend coming here.
Absolutely stunning view of the city of Halifax, had a great experience dining out on the patio, and amazing food & service. Would recommend. Vegetarian options: Excellent vegetarian options available on the menu.
The Cable Wharf is a beautiful restaurant in the perfect location, right on the harbour with delicious food choices and friendly professional staff. We had a wonderful time and look forward to returning soon! I recommend the lemon/lavender ice cream with raspberries
I ordered the crab cakes and a salad and the food was very good. Service was great considering how busy it was. I sat outside and it was lovely. Yes, its a bit pricy, but considering the prime location, not excessively so.
Beautiful setting right on the warf. Huge floor to ceiling windows give you the most fantastic views of sailboats and tour boat excursions. The atmosphere is laid back, the service was spot on, and the food was amazing. Our table of 8 shared a seafood 3 teired platter of goodness, which included a full, good-sized lobster, octopus, mussels, oysters, and big shrimp. I believe we all had the Lobster Roll and everyone absolutely loved!! Prices are very reasonable, but really, it was all about the marvelous view
We enjoyed it very much We were afraid it would be a tourist trap but no. The service was good The food was very good We had 6 oysters, the fried calamari, a lobster roll and a side of vegetables and 2 of us all shared. It was more than enough portion. With a beer and a cocktail it came to $117. I didnt really like that the lowest tipping option offered was 18% To check the conventions of Nova Scotia
We visited the Cable Wharf patio with our pup and the food/service was amazing! The bartender Michelle was so kind and welcoming, she made us feel right at home with our pup! Our server Shane was really knowledgeable about the menu, and super friendly. Great place to have dinner and drinks
Went there on a Sunday evening with a large group. The restaurant is located at the end of a wharf and has recently been beautifully renovated. We were seated promptly. Our server, Michelle, was extremely attentive, very friendly, and informative about the menu. Most of our group had seafood dishes which were fresh and tasty.
Excellent service. Beautiful view of the water. Peaceful environment, quieter and roomier than most. Best mussels, scallops, and caesar that Ive had in a long time. My son loved the fries and lobster roll. The Dessert menu was sparse but Cows Cremery is right next door.
Fantastic 10/10
Really liked the clam chowder, plenty of portion and it really hit the spot.
Really great location at the end of a wharf and right on the water. The service was excellent. Food was OK for the price point in a highly touristic area. The clam spaghetti was a bit bland; however, I would recommend the overall restaurant experience as we quite enjoyed it.
The salmon and scallops tasted okay, but the bamboo shoots were mushy. Lobster roll was so-so old fashion is okay
Had a beautiful summer evening dinner on the patio. A lovely setting along the water. Our server (Piper) was amazing and very honest and helpful with her recommendations. All of the food we ordered was delicious and this may seem like an odd recommendation with the assortment of dishes on the menu, but order the sourdough with maple butter --- sooo simple but tasty! Oysters are a must!
Most disappointing dinner experience. We were so excited to celebrate a friend s birthday there. The setting was beautiful. We sat outside on a beautiful evening. The waitress was wonderful. We ordered a sharing surf and turf plate. (One of the more expensive items on the menu). It was the most pathetic looking dry lobster tail and over cooked steak we had ever seen. Steak was well done instead of medium. We could barely even pry the lobster out of the tail. The waitress was very responsive. The manager was the biggest problem. Instead of apologizing and trying to make it right, he made excuses for why the lobster and scallops were dry. The customer is always right!! We were so turned off that we asked for the check and left. That said, we also had a seafood stew with a tomato saffron base and a lobster salad that were delicious. Such a shame.
This restaurant was so amazing we came back for dinner! Our Server Anna was so wonderful and had great recommendations and brought all our orders out so quick. We will definitely be coming back again thank you so much!
Stopped here after walking around Halifax for the day. Food was great, decent prices too, and staff was very friendly and helpful.
Highly recommend this restaurant- a highlight of our trip to Nova Scotia. Under new management this year and the atmosphere and menu were very well done with attention to detail. Had a magical dinner with oysters, salmon, mussels and Tidal Bay wine. The service was wonderful
Such a lovely location and great service. Been there twice so far. Food is good but their cocktails are better.
If I could give this place zero stars I would. First off, the food was absolutely horribly. Our table had 8 people. We ordered a wide variety of the menu. The mussels were over cooked and mushy and another person at our table had mussels that were raw or rotten. The mussels had no flavour as well. We actually did not even eat more than a couple mussels and the waiter took them away and never asked why we didn t eat them. The tuna tartare was bland and tasteless. The lobster roll was watery and obviously frozen before being served. The fish and chips was fine but the chips had no seasoning. The clam chowder was bland and only had four clams in it. A neighbouring table ordered lobster and asked how to eat it as they were tourists and none of the wait staff knew how to eat a lobster. The only good thing about this place was the view hence the three star rating. Numerous guests were sick from the food. I have no idea how this place has 4.4 stars at this time. This was my bottom three for restaurants that I have ever experienced. On top of it all they made us pay for the appetizers that we didn t eat because of the quality. Then they asked for a pre-promoted 18 percent tip. It was an all around awful experience. Go spend your hard earned money elsewhere. Kid-friendliness: We had a young child with us and they had a kids menu which was sufficient.
The positive is the venue is gorgeous. The weather was perfect while overlooking the harbour. I would have listed the atmosphere as five stars but the food was so bad that it really took away from the whole experience. The negatives; the food was inedible and to be frank, DISGUSTING. The mussels were extremely over cooked (one guest) or undercooked (another guest) and there was no sauce. One of our guests were quite sick after. The bread that came with the mussels was actually delicious. Three of our appetizers we were not able to eat as the quality was so poor that it was dangerous to eat AND they still charged us for it! The portions were quite small. The scallop entree was cooked nicely. The lobster roll was old and still cold from being frozen. The classic fish and chips was good but the chips were very stale and likely cooked from frozen. I can t imagine this restaurant lasts with the quality of food they served. There are plenty other restaurants along the water that are amazing like Bicycle Thief or Sea Smoke to name a few.
Ate here twice during my stay in Halifax. Excellent both times. Thank you!
I believe this is the best kept secret in Halifax! The food is great, no wait, staff is friendly and VERY attentive. If you are looking for a great haunt, look no further.
Michelle was amazing! She is so sweet and fun to talk to, and the food and drinks were excellent!
Had lobster. Food was good! Service stood out. Great night! Thanks Madison!
Great place! Stopped in for a quick lunch- restaurant is absolutely beautiful, indoor or outdoor seating so you cant go wrong with the views, and the food was great!
Great place on the Halifax waterfront! Beautifully (re)decorated with gorgeous views of Dartmouth and the Halifax Harbour. Service was outstanding from the moment we walked in. Michelle was our server! She was excellent. We came for a quick break from the heat and walking but we found ourselves staying for wine and salad. She was knowledgeable and personable. Food was delicious and plentiful. Good wine list. Definitely a place I would go back to.
Great good but unfortunately terrible terrible service. Slow to get drinks and food, inattentive servers, management sitting around not helping out. Way better options for great food on the waterfront.
Eating, drinking, and spending time on the wharf along with the summer breeze may be the only thing you could wish for the most at the end of a hot day. Cable Wharf definitely offers this to you. The location of the restaurant is perfect, and it is decorated tastefully. All the personnel was smiling and helpful all the time. The recommendations we received for the main food, salads, and fish among diverse options were great. Every time I visit Halifax, I will certainly go there.
This was a very disappointing experience. Three adults for lunch and we all ordered fish and chips. Waitress came back three time to clarify the order. Two servers brought the food, one tripped and spilled the one plate she was serving. Chips spilled all over the table and she just left them there, then walked away. The other server said nothing and walked away too. (We were tired of the long wait as is. We arrived at 11:45 am and the place was almost empty.) We ate some of the food. The spilled chips are probably still on the table. The server did nothing. Then another long wait to pay. Poor service, bad attitude and mediocre food and limited menu. Don t go there. RUN! **Replying to response from owner on Sept. 12. (three days later seems rather slow and inattentive from an owner.) Response from the owner: Can you please let us know the date when you were in Katherine. We cant find any details resembling a table like this. We were there on Sept. 9th, the day the review was posted. Strange that a business can t find a simple order for three persons ordering fish and chips. Seems like poor service all around.
WoW great service, attentive smiling staff, beautiful atmosphere at the waters edge. Its still expensive but its worth it.
We chose The Cable wharf for breakfast and dinner due to the wonderful waterfront location and cozy atmosphere with live music ( guitar player) in the evening. I had a lobster roll for breakfast and I quite liked it. My husband wasn t too impressed with vegetable wraps, same as with the lobster presentation at dinner. The staff was very friendly, although passing service to each other and forgetting about part of the order could be avoided. However, the ambiance was really pleasant. We will come back next time we are in Halifax.
What a fantastic restaurant offering wonderful views across the water, brilliant service, quality and experience all for a decent price and without being pompous my husband and I arrived wearing shorts and T-shirt, wondering if it would be OK, we needed had worried, we were greeted warming and advised that what we were wearing was no problem I m sure we would have been turned away in the UK. We were served by Elvira who was an absolute delight! She was full of energy and joy, gave us all the information on the local produce, her favourites and recommendations plus we could have a good laugh with her which we love! We decided to go for 1/2 Dozen Maritime Oysters (from 3 locations; PEI, NS & NB), the Hot Seafood Medley (Whole Lobster, Salmon Fillet, Blackened Haddock, Digby Scallops & Prawns, Clams), Sourdough with Maple Butter, PEI Potato Salad and PEI Wedges - absolutely everything was delicious, perfectly cooked, well seasoned, flavourful and generous portions. Despite being rather full we just knew we had to have dessert: Bean to Bar (Chocolate & Espresso Cake) and The Nova Scotian (Blueberry & Haskap Cheesecake), 2 very different desserts but both divine, rich and full of flavour. To wash it all down I had Tidal Bay Wine & my husband had a local Propeller Pilsner, both crisp, refreshing and perfect with the seafood. Our experience was perfection, we will come back here in a heartbeat when we are next in Halifax.
The Cable Wharf team did an outstanding job at our 100 person corporate lobster dinner! As in the best staff at any event we have ever held across US and Canada. They were an extension of our team to help make our guests feel welcome and we cannot thank them and enough. A special thank you to two servers, Shane and Elvira, who went above the standard level of customer service. Highly recommend.
Very stylish, bright restaurant in a historic harbor complex. Top fish menu and fresh oysters. The authentic ambience in the old wharf also makes the restaurant a real tip. Not fancy, but modern within historic walls. Everything was very loving and very nice service.
Modern nautical decor. Lovely spot. The food and service were excellent. I would definitely recommend. Vegetarian options: Great vegetarian wrap. The fries are amazing as well.
Very welcoming atmosphere. Great servants amazing tasty food
The food was immaculate, the vibes were amazing, and the view was wonderful. Ordered the hot seafood medly and I cant fully describe how good it was. The lobster and shallots were tender instead of rubbery, and the flavours had such good depth. My favourite part of the platter was definitely the seared Ahi Tuna. It genuinely made us sad when we werent able to finish the entire platter because it was so delicious. Our waiter was wonderful! He gave a great wine recommendation to pair with our food, was very personable and polite, and didnt make us feel dumb when asking the best way to crack the lobster. Overall would definitely visit again. Out of all the seafood restaurants I have visited on the waterfront, The Cable Wharf is my favourite.
We took advantage of the fantastic happy hour deal. Half price bottles of wine & half price dinner menu, can t beat that! Attentive service, great atmosphere, delicious food and reasonable drinks! We were very impressed, the scallops were perfectly done, wonderful fish & chips and fabulous lamb stew. The bartender was entertaining, knowledgeable and charming. The manager was friendly and accommodating. The newly renovated space is close to the ferry and right on the waterfront. Fantastic!
Amazing food amazing view amazing services
Amazing food. Beautiful location on the water with a great view of the Silva. Very beautiful. Highly recommend.
Service is great, food was too, ambience and the view of the harbour and Halifax...priceless...you got to eat here
The food was delicious and the view from the patio was the perfect way to enjoy Halifax s waterfront. My favourite spot in town!
You may notice by the picture that Cows has moved in, no icecream just murchandice. The staff inrfomed me that the one by the Lower Deck will be closing and then the icecream will be served from this new location.
Staff at COWS are friendly and welcoming, exactly what a tourist is looking for.
Amazing food and ambiance! The PEI mussels are a must!
Beautiful interior and patio - great views of the ocean. The food was great all around. Fish and chips are not battered too thick, nice and crunchy. The seared scallop appetizer was great - definitely not a filling meal but very fresh and light. Service was incredibly quick and food exceeded expectations. Would absolutely recommend.
Thanks to the 4 local girls for the recommendation!! Great service. Great views. Great food. Oh, and Maddy is the best!!!! Dietary restrictions: Absolutely great gluten free options. Wheelchair accessibility: Very accessible from the boardwalk. Both for inside and outside dining.
Just your classic tourist trap. Not really worth your time. Staff is great but food not worth it. Head inwards or across the Harbor for a more authentic experience.
