I really wanted to like this place...been wanting to try it for a while and Im a big pho fan. Sadly, the chicken pho and spicy lemongrass soup was truly disappointing - lack of flavour and the beef was basically all cartilage. My boyfriend literally couldnt finish it and he eats everything. The BBQ steam buns were delicious though. The cat robot that brings out the food was a cute, unique touch and the restaurant itself is beautiful, but we absolutely will not be going back due to food quality.

I dont normally write reviews but my experience here was so good I needed to share it. I ordered the chicken pad thai and I can confirm this one of the best meals Ive ever eaten in my life. The staff are very fast and kind on top of the welcoming atmosphere. I highly recommend eating here.

Not authentic Vietnamese! Food is salty and tastes weird.

The ramen are just DELICIOUS and generous portions !! Also the staff are very nice.

House pho price and size seemed like a good deal but the beef tendon was really fat and almost made me nauseous towards the end. The beef ball was pink inside and did not taste like real beef, was probably pre-packaged, frozen, over-processed food. Stomach did not feel very comfortable afterwards, wouldn t come again. There are definitely better places for pho because this place also serves other cuisines so surely isn t authentic.

Dim sum!

It tastes good. It tastes very light. I like the fried pork dumplings in the second picture. It tastes like Chinese sesame balls, the kind wrapped in meat.

What a great combination of dimsum and Pho! I thought the food would be mediocre, when you have such a mix of food. However, that wasn t the case. The dimsum was first class and the Pho was very tasty excellent broth! Our server was great, very quick to be helpful. Great dining experience! Would def go back next time we re in town.

Best Asian restaurant in Halifax

The best pho restaurant in downtown Halifax IMO. They actually have a whole range of different Asian cultures represented in their menu which is kinda different. But their pho is very good. Noodles are nice and chewy, and the broth is nice and rich. Generous portions of meat as well.

I ordered a takeaway at noon today with high expectations, but after tasting the Duo Beef, I felt that there seemed to be no salt. Anyway, I didnt feel the salty taste. This time the food left a very bad impression on me and I won t order it again next time!

Very bad experience - poor food quality and rude staff. Beef brisket pho was not brisket at all but fatty, sinewy slices of cheap beef. The shrimp and pork siu mai dumplings immediately gave us both a stomach ache and food poisoning. They were also very unappetizing huge balls of mashed together meat. When we told the waitress about the food poisoning she did not take the dumplings away and just said to us order something else next time . I won t be ordering anything else because I won t be coming back.

Great spot! Went here last minute for a date night, and won a free big bowl of noodle soup because our bowl had a symbol in it!? Either way, 10/10. No complaints.

Delicious food and kind servers

I just want to ask you to please stop using gross meat with your meals. Your meals have potential, but the chicken that is served with the bun is greasy, skinny dark meat scraps and bun also should not be served with a full, uncut pork chop on top. It totally turns me off from eating with you because I have no idea what Im eating. Please use nice, fresh chicken breast and fresh cut up pork moving forward you will see more success.

I came here on Christmas Day, they provided the warmest services for me and the noodle is amazing, I also recommend the pork spring roll, avocado smoothie and Hong Kong ice lemon tea, definitely will come back!

Idk who the lady is, she acted like the owner but her experiences is not like the owner at all (cuz if she treated guests like this, who will ever be back?) She never visit our table for empty glasses of water or anything at all until we called her over, she literally splashed water everywhere (on table, to my chair and my clothes) and didnt even clean it or saying sorry (in winter and being poored water on, wow!!!)... This is the first time in my life didnt tip (bc of their rudeness). Having Mistakes and acting apologies will be forgiven, however, employees acting like a god will never be accepted! Beside that, my bowl of noodle is extremely salty, I poored a lot of water in to fix it. My friends are okay they said. The restaurants bowls are extremely big tho, which is a plus, but we cant finish half of it lol. The guy forgot our bills at the end, but he said sorry, so much nicer than the lady, but he wasnt the one serve us. Also, this restaurant never letting servers get separate tip which they deserved it, but not the manager/owner! Afterall, noone get tip then ! Oh if you have bubble tea with you which they called its food from outside, dont bring it with you, will be complained! 1st time and never again going back there...

This Vietnamese restaurant has an astonishing surrounding to it and the service itself are very amazing. In addition to this, the food itself is also is very nostalgic and special. My favorite cuisine has to be Grilled Chicken with Fried Egg and Rice (R4).

Also they have a very cool robot that serves food and speaks Parking: It may be kind of hard to find a parking space but the good is worth it. The experience was very well curated. Good lighting, music not too loud, beautiful decor, and accessible entrance. The little robot was very cute as well, and the service was lovely. My Vietnamese Ice coffee was delicious! The food was well priced (far below other places of spring garden) and good quality. Though the grilled chicken with rice was sort of odd to eat. All the parts together made a good dish, but the way it was served had me using chopsticks, a fork and knife, and a spoon at different times. My partner had the veggie pad Thai, which was unusually sweet with no spice. If it had had some spice it may have balanced better. My main concern is that the menu really only had two vegetarian options. Overall a wonderful experience, just falling short of 5 stars. Vegetarian options: Only two options on the menu. Parking: Only street parking near by. Wheelchair accessibility: Wheel chair accessible! No step up into the restaurant, chairs can be removed from a table to seat.

Amazing food, portions were huge. Every one of us took home leftovers. Brought 3 tweens with me, all of them said it was their favorite food in Halifax..

The place is really beautiful but unfortunately the food wasnt great, the spring rolls came full in oil and the others one were just ok. We really didnt like most because my wife plate arrive much before mine and my son dishs so she had to eat alone.

Amazing place downtown Halifax! Delicious food; big portions; relatively cheap prices given the location, the portion, and the atmosphere; great service; and theyve included a robot waiter/waitress too! A trend that were starting to see around Ontario by far! Definitely a must try location!

Honestly one of the best pho bowls Ive had. The broth was flavourful, and there were chunks of beef fat in it so you knew where the flavour was coming from. The beef balls are clearly made in house (found a few gristle pieces, but the flavour made up for it). The noodles were plentiful and filling. The robot waiter is a fun little gimmick, but makes for an interesting experience. The waiters still serve you the food off the robot, so you dont have to grab your own.

Best Vietnamese food in Halifax, nice and friendly staffs, beautiful place.

We visited on a Saturday for dinner. So impressed with this restaurant. Decor is lovely. Staff were super attentive and very friendly. Food was A++. My husband had the fresh rolls and one of the pho. I had the vermicelli with grilled chicken. Everything was fresh and extremely tasty. Cant wait to come back for another meal!

Great atmosphere and service. Im gonna keep it straightforward with no sugarcoating. Food quality isnt there. Presentation is good, but the flavour of the soup/pho is very bland and watery. Pork spring rolls were average but the sauce had weird texture and taste. Those robots that bring food up your table is nice concept but IMHO I think they should work on the quality of their food instead of robots. I had high hopes before coming to this restaurant. Sorry, would not recommend.

Broth used for pho is great and loved the (relatively) thin rice noodles in the pho! Staff were very accommodating with additional vegetables and special requests. Will visit again.

A R2D2 looking robot server is not the only cool thing they have. The amazing broth and never ending bowl of noodles, cool atmosphere, great location the list goes on. Very reasonably priced with many varieties of Pho to choose from, including gluten free options. This is one of the best Vietnamese restaurants I have been to. Definitely worth the visit. Very mixed opinions on this place. Cant seem to give it the 3.5 I want to so Ill have to go with a 4 (3 is too low). One of the best laksa flavours Ive had outside of Singapore and really took me back to the hawker centres. Amazing coffee flan. Main downside/negative to my food was honestly the meat. Some pieces were great and others were tough, noodles were also a little bit overcooked despite being separated for delivery. Portions were average for the price. I will however have enough broth to cook up some of my own noodles tomorrow for a makeshift lunch.

We went there to try pho but they had no vegetarian options for pho, which was a bummer. So I would definitely recommend to add vegetarian options for pho. We ordered the shrimp salad for starter and shrimp pad thai and the vegetarian pad thai for the main. The portions were good and the taste was great. For drinks we got the passionfruit and the mangosteen juice which were very refreshing and tasty! The staff were friendly and the vibe was pleasant! Overall highly recommended. We would definitely come back again if they add more vegetarian options for pho and spring rolls!

So strong and so delicious! The quantity is also very sufficient! Reasonable price! (Don t order random things) Its open at my doorstep, but I never tried it until I tasted it by chance. I fell in love with it and will go there often in the future when I have the opportunity.

The store layout is good, and the taste and portion of the food are enough to compare with Los Angeles. Of course, the price is slightly higher than that in Los Angeles. Of course, it is amazing to be able to eat Vietnamese noodles like this in this place. For those who got off the boat Passengers can change their appetite and eat something different from what is on board.

Overall this was a great experience. It was the first place I had a server and a robot bringing food so that was interesting. The broth was exceptional. Spring rolls were ok as they seemed a bit dry but still tasted ok. The skewer was tasty. I m sure there are other places but this happened to be a pleasant change of food.

I have eaten here consistently for over a year and I have never been disappointed. Their pho is amazing, and their menu has a lot of options beyond pho that I have also enjoyed plenty! The wait time is next to none, seated quickly, food arrives fast, service is kind and quick, I cant say I have ever waited more than 15 before my food arrives which is impressive! One of the best qualities is the service, though, the servers are all extremely kind, sweet and nice to talk to! Two amazing servers I would like to give a shout are Mabl and Jessica, who I have seen many times and who are always smiling, helping their coworkers and making me feel welcome! Since my last travels to Singapore and Malaysia I have been looking for an authentic laksa. Tonights dinner at Beyond Pho delivered that flavour in the beef noodle laksa soup. All I can say is that it was phenomenal! It had the right amounts of sweet, spicy, sour and salty in every spoonful. I ordered a regular sized bowl, and I promise this could be shared on a date night, the portion was very generous. The staff are super! So friendly, very attentive and prompt. Bring seated, ordering and all the rest were very friendly interactions with the servers. They are definitely a value to Beyond Pho. Atmosphere was nice. Modem, open space. Comfy booths. Very clean. My only feedback would be to expand their music shuffle. I heard the same Ed Sheeran song three times in the 45 minutes I was there. I highly recommend Beyond Pho. Its better than a treat, its like getting the whole cake all at once.

My own hair was tight covered, so no chance it was mine.When I addressed this I got 2,50$ discount lol..from 30$bill.. I had diarrhea after and damanged mood. Please look properly in your plate while you are eating!

After waiting at the door for nearly 7-8 minutes, there was only one seriver in the restaurant, who was very close to us, but ignored us. She had been chatting with the customer at the nearest table from the door. Finally, She came to us and told us that they would not take the order.She didnt say anything else.

Had lunch on a Sunday afternoon and the food was amazing. From the appetozers, to the vermicelli bowl to the teddy bear iced tea, the food was delicious and well portioned. The servers were friendly and efficient and the decor was beautiful. Highly recommended for those who want some good Vietnamese cuisine! Vegetarian options: Many vegetarian options on the menu. Kid-friendliness: Booster seats and highchairs available.

Ordered the steamed pork buns and pad Thai. Both were excellent, service was fantastic and the music taste was on point.

I ate here about 2 weeks ago and when I asked the server about a tip prompt they said that servers dont get the tips and it goes to the owners. This is a disgusting practice and the owners should be ashamed. I wont be bringing my business here and I will be letting everyone I know about these trashy owners.

I think the biggest novelty on this place is the robot that brings your food to the table. The food was just normal Asian style food. It wasnt something exactly excellent and the service was not exactly as fast as what I would have expected. Even my wife who happens to be Asian mentioned about how slow the service was. Best pho in Halifax. The dim sum is great!

I went here by recommendation of my neighbour who said this new place has the best pho in Halifax. I love pho so I went there ASAP. Upon sitting down their robot server brought water it s a gimmicky thing that kids like but doesn t really affect the service you receive since wait staff need to place it on table for you. Also, the decor is very pretty! We ordered the house special pho: I d say meat was good quality, but the soup itself was a bit bland and not seasoned well enough with the aromatics. Additional pho noodle was $2 and it came with more soup which was great. Also had salad rolls: The sauce for the salad rolls tasted very sweet seemed like it was mostly peanut butter and sugar with a tiny bit of fish sauce it wasn t good. Also my roll consisted of shrimp and Romain lettuce it was a really weak attempt at a salad roll. We also had the vermicelli with beef and spring roll: The vermicelli didn t have enough sauce, we asked for more and they were great and brought out more. The beef slices were large and not cut well so they were stuck together and you had to have an ungracefully large bite of beef. The spring roll was tasty but not cut apart so you couldn t really share it. And their calamari was really bad. It came with ketchup so it basically tasted like fishy onion rings. It seemed like some generic frozen calamari you get in bulk. I used the extra vermicelli sauce which made it taste a whole lot better. Their hot Vietnamese coffee was great! The cold one was the same as the hot except you get cold coconut milk it made the drink a bit too weak for my liking. Also had the mango coconut sticky rice would have been great if the rice was fully cooked mine could have used an extra 5 minutes in the steamer. The mango on top was perfectly ripe and cut beautifully, presentation was great. Update 2023: Tried their beef pho again, soup had flavour this time but meat quantity and quality is not the best in town (pho maniac still wins) Original post 2022: Overall: If I had to come back I d get the vermicelli bowl (make sure to ask for extra sauce), spring rolls and hot Vietnamese coffee but maybe go elsewhere for pho, salad rolls and coconut sticky rice. I wouldn t say this place was very authentic or affordable. Waitstaff were very friendly but not very attentive

The food was great here and good service too. Had the laksa (waitress recommended) and pork steam buns, both were delicious! Surprisingly large portions. Didnt try the pho this time but will definitely be back again!

Big portion with a good price. Clean and nice area, with a welcoming service. Definitely come back!

I ordered the curry with tofu and asked for it to be spicy. I was a little bit disappointed because it was lacking in flavour. It wasn t bad, just not really anything to write home about. That said, this place is known for its pho not its curry so take this review with a grain of salt.

Excellent place with fair prices and excellent stuff work. They know what they doing! One of my favorite places when feel to lazy to cook!

Everything is p rfèct

Came here 30 minutes before they closed. Im so glad they still accepted and warmly welcomed us. The beef pho, spring rolls and seafood tomato noodles that we ordered were superb! This is our first time to eat here and I can say that we will definitely come back and try all the other foods in their menu.

Honestly the best pho in Halifax hands down

The serving robots were cool! Good soup - especially the spicy lemongrass noodle soup ! Pho is 4/5, broth is delicious but the meat is a bit meh but great on a cold day and if youre feeling homesick
