We accidentally ordered from the wrong location, and they were very gracious in cancelling our order through Uber Eats. Next time, we ll be ordering from this one! Thank you, Talay Thai!

Food is delicious.

The restaurant is always very clean. The staff are always very polite and friendly. Their Pad Thai is the best I have had. It is perfect every single time Parking: Very easy to walk to if in the area

The website has no hours and Google says open 11:30. I sat outside for a half hour and was told after they don t open until 12. Maybe change your hours on the site or Google.

The food tastes very out of proportion, Thai food usually is a blend of flavors but the cashew vegetables and tamarind prawns I ordered, was extremely sweet because of added sugar. The customer service didnt do much to make it better, and I wouldnt really recommend it to anyone even though it seems like a popular place. I ended up wasting food which was sad.

We had a gathering of 16 people and Talay Thai put together our take out order flawlessly. The food was delicious, and they were very knowledgeable and willing to accommodate my gluten sensitivity. Dietary restrictions: They were very willing to make my meal gluten free.

Hidden jem. Hot, fresh food. Bit of a mix-up on my order, got a more expensive dish (seafood vs the chicken I order), but they insisted I only pay the lower price and had offered to make the proper dish if I didnt want the seafood or was allergic.

Very very good! The spring rolls were incredible, best I ve had yet. I also had the pad thai and vegetable stir fry rice dish, which were both great! Plus I have dietary restrictions (vegan) and they were very knowledgeable and accommodating.

The food is good. Its not the most amazing (North American version) Thai food, but its pretty good. We order it sometimes because we love Thai cooking, but lately, dishes have a lot of onion. (massaman curry, Thai fried rice, cashew chicken)

A great Thai restaurant near home, Pad Thai is delicious, I like to add more chopped cashews. I really like Thai milk tea A lot of coconut milk is added to it. Reasonable price. Dietary restrictions: Nuts

This is just being nitpicky but it needs to convert a lot of tables into booths.

Their pad thai was very good!

I visited there on Sunday lunchtime, parking wasnt that bad. The environment and setting in Talay Thai was very nice, not so crowded. The service was good. We ordered from the lunch menu, Pad Thai noodles, red curry, fresh rolls. We enjoyed the food, but the portion seems a bit small. On our way out we saw the pineapple fried rice from the other table, which looks very good. For sure we will go back to try more different dishes next time.

Inconsistent service, seeing people get served that arrived after me.

My wife and I both had the Massaman curry and spring rolls. She has celiac so she had the fresh spring rolls while I had the deep fried. They were both great! Only thing is they use a different sauce for them for gluten free so just mention it if you have a gluten allergy or Celiac. The curry was phenomenal as well! prices going up, but still a good deal. and can get you your food in time to get back to work by 1. if you order somthing more expensive like beef, you get less, where as chicken or noodle dishes have higher quantity. this makes sense since everything has a fixed price for the lunch special

Pad thai and shrimp crackers were delicious

If you like Thai food, get the Cashew chicken and the green curry chicken. The cashew chicken with snow peas needs more cashews and snow peas and veg like thin carrot flowers but the sauce is amazing! Pineapple pork was a pass too sweet for me and sauce tasted like ketchup for lack of a better description. Chicken satay was just meh no flavour and would be better as a yellow curry marinaded skewer. Did not get a cucumber sauce with it as it says on the menu and the peanut sauce was not very peanutty and was watery, it should be thicker and richer tasting.

The takeaway service of this store is very, very poor. This evening, I bought 3 Tom Yum Kung soups that contained no other food except water, but half a month ago, the Tom Yum Kung soup sold to me by the female owner of this store was very poor. Well, I bought a set of 5, each with 4 large shrimps and tomatoes and a few small mushrooms, and the price is the same as this time, but this time I bought 3 Tom Yum Goong soup with everything in it No. So I give a bad review. When I got home, I opened the wrapping paper bag and saw that the child took a few sips and told me that there was nothing in it, so I took the other two out of the bag, only to find that there was nothing but water. So infuriating I will never buy anything from it again.

Ordered take-out from this place, the first time trying Thai food in Halifax. Ordered the basil pork, spicy pork and the beef Pad Thai, the taste of the pork dishes is average to me, the Pad Thai is really good though. Pad Thai is very recommended.

Very generic, and somewhat greasy, Thai-ish food.The fresh spring rolls were good. The ginger tofu and pad Thai were meh. Service was friendly, and the atmosphere is nice. But I wont be back.

The fried rice is ok but avoid the squid. Says thin layer of batter on the squid but couldn t taste squid in most of the pieces. The food took quite a while to serve, and since there s only one waitress/server took a while to get the bill. Would not recommend for quick lunch. The bill for two also came down to 53 dollars. Expensive for the taste. Did not have the heart to take photos nor would the time allow. The 4.6/5 rating is questionable, assumably from people who have not tried authentic Asian food.

Some of the best Thai food in Canada!!

So close to being in Thailand. The food here was spectacular, we ordered the Tom Ka Gai. It was reminiscent of being in Thailand, all this dish needs is Chili Oil. We also ordered the red curry, it was delicious. We have traveled over 5700 kms to be in Nova Scotia, this was an absolute delight. We will have a meal again before we go home.

I need an explanation for charging this dish $21.99. You must be kidding about calling it a seafood plate.

Ate at Talay Thai recently & we were very happy with the quality, quantity & price ($13) of the cashew chicken & the green curry chicken, which included a spring roll with each dish. The service was very prompt & attentive. That the curries are crafted on site is obvious in the delicious taste of the food & on par with any we ve had. The atmosphere is very appealing, with an obvious attention to providing a clean environment. Will most definitely eat here again.

Overall food and experience was good Highlight was soup - delicious and masaman curry and Thai fried rice tasted good as well . Spring Roll is MINUS - so oily and had a weird smell of oil - Looks like they reused oil so many times and fried spring rolls in the same oil Food

If you are in downtown and looking for a place which serves great Thai food with reasonable price but amazing vibe, Talay Thai is where to go. My no-brainer order here is Pad Thai, which is excellent and so much better than the chain restaurants you see out there :)

Great service and super friendly, and the food was really good. We went around 1pm on a weekday so it was quiet, but the takeout orders were booming! We also had a sleepy baby with us so we didnt We got the lunch specials: chicken Pad Thai (big serving, recommend sharing), Beef Panang Curry, and Masamun Beef Curry. We definitely had leftovers after but it was all so good, it was hard to stop. The curry specials come with a bowl of rice and a spring roll. Staff was super friendly; greeted our son and when he fell asleep, approached us quietly with each interaction.

Such a beautiful place and the food goes the extra mile. Best Thai food I have ever had.

This place is just wow! Amazing kind staff, can do wonderful gluten free options and the portions, lets just say wear your fat pants cause they are huge! And worse you are so full but still want to keep eating! We had pad Thai, papaya salad and mango sticky rice. If we lived close to this place wed be here weekly. Thank you for a wonderful dinner!

I ate here twice while in Halifax. I had Pad Thai one night and Spicy Noodles the next. The Pad Thai was a lot sweeter than any I have ever had before and would have benefited from a squeeze of lime but it was hot, tasty and the portion size was very generous. Service was quick and friendly. When I arrived the second night and the server asked how I was, I mentioned I was cold and she offered hot water to drink instead of iced. I would not have thought to ask for that and it was greatly appreciated!

Quality has recently gone down. Lots of onion instead of vegetables in my soup. I know times are tough, but reducing quality eventually means lost customers.

I find this to be the best tasting Thai food that I have tried in Halifax. Though the last few times the flavours have not been as good as pre covid. Id rather pay more for the same great flavour then pay the same and have the quality slip.

Rating down this restaurant cuz, I ordered spicy thai noodles today from here and I specially called in to make sure it would be extra extra spicy but I disappointed when I realized the food was sweet. It was not even hot at all. Paying $21 for cold noodles not a smart choice. Last time ordered from here.

I want to tell everyone to definitely eat here. My wife and I had take out. She had the Pad Thai and I had the spicy noodle dish. Both were excellent. I will say the spicy in the spicy noodles is real . I m a spice guy and this had me going. It s a nice treat to find a dish that delivers that kind of heat and tastes amazing. My wife is very sensitive to spice and had no issues with the pad Thai. She loved it. Our take out was fresh and hot. Must try. I would definitely look to go back next time. We didn t eat in but I would look to next time, the restaurant dining area was very nice when I picked up our order. Thank you for the great meal.

We both had the Pad Thai and it was just awesome! Perfect everything. If I had to comment on one thing I had the pork and it was a little dry but overall incredible. Sauce is to die for.

It s not an authentic Thai restaurant since the cook is not from Thai. But so far it s a the good Thai restaurant that I ve tried in Halifax. At ice cream for $2 extra to my mango sticky rice dessert. The mango here is not that good since it doesn t come from the tropical country (would not recommend). Finally don t know why they have Thai tea but don t serve Thai milk tea which is the most popular drink. Still worth a try. I love when they give extra cream and sugar when i order a pot of tea.

Glad I made a second attempt at dining here! Great pad thai! Spice lords, the Thai Spicy will not disappoint.

Update. Still love this place but sadly 2 times now i have been getting burnt springrolls. Today was the second time so sadly i will remove one star. Love the pad thai. Absolutely delish. Also the springrolls are amazing I have to Update. Still giving 5 Stars. I am stuck with my son In the iwk. We have been here over a month and I have ordered from this place sooo many times and it is still absolutely amazing. Just placed another order over skip the dishes. From all the restaurants I have ordered this is my favorite place in halifax.

I ordered pennang cury prawns and Pineapple fried rice. They were very good! Good Service and atmosphere, nice thai music on background.

Prices were reasonable. Everything was well-prepared, tasty and nicely presented. The bathrooms were the cleanest I have seen.

Great tasting food with good flavour and presentation, but portions are a bit small and a bit of an upset stomach afterwards. Would go back but maybe something not as oily. Great atmosphere with lots of space but might be better with condiments on the table like sauces and other regular table condiments.

Havent been to TalayThai since they moved (A very long time). It was an awesome surprise that the food was the way I remembered it...delicious. Our server was attentive and pleasant. We had fresh spring rolls, glass noodle with chicken and cashew chicken with rice. All this for under $50 before tax and tip. Definitely going back

Ordered several dishes to our hotel room. Food arrived very quickly, was all delicious and fresh and very reasonably priced.

My favorite dish is the pineapple fried rice w/seafood served INSIDE the pineapple. This is my 3rd...no 4th visit this year I believe. Mmmmm!!
