On the evening of December 21st at 6 PM, the woman at the front desk had a face so sour it could scare off customers. If you re in such a terrible mood, stay at home and spare everyone the awful attitude. People come here expecting service, not to be greeted with the expression of someone at a funeral. And to top it off, the food was so bad it felt like an insult. If this is how things are running here, dont expect anyone to come back! At 6 pm on December 21, the receptionist at the reception desk had such a sour face that customers wanted to leave. If youre in such a bad mood, stay home, dont come out here and express your unpleasant attitude to others. Customers come here to be served, not to see a face like they are at a funeral. Furthermore, the food was so bad that it was an insult. If this is the way you do things, dont expect anyone to come back! Eating out is expensive and specialty dining places often charge a premium. Korean BBQ is a type of dining that I consider specialty and the prices at many restaurants have gone up 50% or more in the past few years. Saigon House is a Hamilton gem where the price for all you can eat dining has not gone up as high as other Korean or AYCE restaurants in Hamilton. We ate at lunch with 15% tip and soft drinks and taxes for under $80. They do not rush you. They will ask you if want more food? They will bring you more food. They are friendly and attentive. The food is fresh. The atmosphere is good and you will leave full and agreeing that it was worth the price. If you havent eaten at Korean BBQ, the experience itself is worth the price. So why are you waiting? Prices are slightly lower at lunch so find a friend. Block time off your schedule and enjoy food again. Highly recommend. Parking available nearby.

Pas Thai was terrible. It was red and tasted like ketchup and fish sauce. I had one bite and told the server I didn t like it. She took my plate and charged me anyway.

Celebrated a birthday and had a wonderful experience!

First time trying Saigon, drove from Niagara Falls. Food portions(appetizers and hot dishes) were too large and not very tasty, meats and seafood are not seasoned (flavourless), food took too long to come out rice 20 mins. It was a Saturday night and it was dead! The service however was great, our waiters took good care checking on us. Pay parking as it s situated downtown. $5 Weekends

Best pho in town, their broth is always full of flavour and never lacking. Ive only done take out so I think that speaks for itself. Good portion even for a small, highly recommend!

Inattentive staff combined with overpriced fare make this a three-star restaurant. The food is pretty good, but they tend to hold back on the good stuff. For instance, I once ordered a pho with tripe and a few other meats, but I only managed to find a single, tiny piece of tripe in the whole bowl. The 10% discount for paying cash is nice, though.

Went to celebrate my birthday with friends. We had the all you can eat Korean BBQ and were impressed with the variations the buffet had. The price for the all you can eat is also reasonable. The staff was very kind and always smiling. It was our first time and we will definitely be back for more. Thank you!

2nd time here. At first you think the menu is too broad for everything to be tasty. So far, every order has been impressive in taste, portion, and value for an all-in-one restaurant. Hats off to the chefs and management.

The only Korean BBQ all you can eat restaurant in Hamilton. As well as the only restaurant using robot waitress in Ontario. We can do BBQ beefs, porks , seafood, ribs with vegetables by ourselves. We used closed street parking.

been going here for ~10 years, even after moving away from Hamilton i still make time to go here. this restaurant is absolutely delicious, and somehow their tiramisu is the best ive ever had

EDIT/UPDATE: I went tonight for a dinner date, and I was so disappointed. The service was literally horrible. Awful. We ordered a bunch of stuff, never got it. Ordered the same things again, never got them. We did this 2 more times with the same food items, never received them. I had to ask the manager to please bring the Kim chi rice we ordered 4 times and never received. Lastly we ordered dessert. Waited 30 minutes, never got that either. It was suppose to be all you can eat and we left STARVING after sitting there for 2.5 hours and only receiving a few of the items we ordered from a lengthy list and several attempts. When we initially showed up, the table was sticky and needed to be wiped again. As I sat there and waited for my food I saw a close by table get the best service ever. They had a server at their table every 5-10 minutes with something new and water refills. Like what was going on here??? Im not likely to return after spending almost $100. Saved a 10% when I paid cash, but I feel we should have gotten out meals 60% off or even free because we basically didnt get barely any food. What a huge disappointment! Receipt posted in photo with review! Loved it ! I wanted to try this for a long time and never did because parking is just next to impossible downtown. I finally just went for it regardless. Im so glad I did ! Yum. I did the all you can eat option and ordered all kinds of delicious stuff . The experience is awesome. You grill up thin slices of meat or vegetables yourself at the table and there are several other items that are already cooked. Its good if you want a lengthy, social sort of dinner experience. I would highly recommend.

It s such a good restaurant, and then the waiter was all alone but she even managed to manage all the orders. The food is excellent.

The menu is huge which can be intimidating but honestly everything looked great. We had general tso chicken and pho and spring rolls and they were all amazing. Great option if you re craving Asian with friends but can t decide what to eat.

Arguably the best Vietnamese restaurant downtown. Ive driven past it so many times and finally decided to give it a shot. The menu is is better than most, staff is great and friendly and the spices are on point.

Great Korean BBQ and friendly staff. My only regret is that over the past year or so they have drastically increased the price of the meal. Adult dinners can now easily break 30-40$. If that isnt an issue for you, I highly recommend their friendly staff and quiet atmosphere. Great for social evenings, meetings with coworkers, and an occasional date.

Food was actually done really well. I was skeptical with the high cost but the quality is spot on. Large portions, great taste. I originally went to the one closer to me but I went to this one because Westdale was closed. And they included all the utensils without me asking

Great food, great staff, great experience. Make a reservation to be seated right away as you might have to wait. Dont be afraid to ask the server for cutlery or to change out the stove top if it gets too sticky from the food. I always come back to this place happy, would definitely recommend

Food was very good and restaurant was nice, very clean. Service was good with the exception that there were 4people in our party. They brought out meals one at a time with a large period of time between each person receiving their meal. We will go back but I hope that the timing on food service is better next time

Amazing pad Thai, i believe it s made with real tamarind sauce and not the non-authentic sweet/sour (orange) sauce.

I have been coming here for 6 years. I absolutely love the cozy feel, food options, and the service. They have upgraded and now have iPads - used to be old school paper and pencil. The meat is high quality, the veggies are great, the soups are fantastic. It s obvious that the lunch menu will be a bit limited - but overall even the lunch menu is great. I ve been to MANY other BBQs in GTA area, this one is the best bang for your buck.

I was pretty happy with my Pho, and Rice dish. Vietnamese Coffee was great but it took an hour to prep when I finished my dishes by then. I noticed the Service has been kinda sub par since my last two visits but it was probably that one server breaking the experience. The busser seemed more polite and accommodating than the Server himself. I had to walk up to pay because it took so long, which the busser was very great to deal with but then the Server guy comes back 10 mins later asking if I needed the bill. Also didn t have water refills at all. I ll still give this 4 stars overall to be fair but just keep in mind that one guy might break your Service experience.

Great food in a no frills setting. We did the all you can eat BBQ and found the meats and vegetables to be great quality with lots of options to try but also that the side dishes we very very good. Just dont expect industrial loft designer fancy environment. Strongly recommend!

Our sauce container exploded minutes after sitting down. It was one of those things that occasionally happens, the heat of the dishwasher introduces micro-cracks and/or micro stresses in the glass that nobody would be able to see, and eventually it explodes. We decided to go home and get cleaned up before returning. Without prompting they gave us one of our two meals for free, which I felt was fair (the sauce only got on one of us). Luckily it did not stain. Other than the initial unfortunate event it was a great place and was an interesting experience.

Love this place. Worth the $110 for two on a weekend. Ate till my back hurt then had ice cream to finish strong the walk home helped.

Excellent food! We enjoyed both our noodle dish and our fried rice dish!

Very flavorful and well seasoned! We enjoyed everything that we tried, I think the only downside was we came at a busy time so things werent moving as quickly as we would have liked.

i went with a friend for dinner and staff refused to allow her to order take out since the manager apparently confused our voices. very large wait times for unseasoned meat and soup broth. Customer service should explain or offer seasoning.

Went in to have a meal asking if they had a la carte and we were informed yes. So the 2 guys ordered all you can eat and I asked for the other menu as I am not able to eat a great deal. I was informed that even if I order 1 thing off the other menu that I will still be charged the almost 40 dollar charge because the others at my table were eating all you can eat. We even asked if I could sit at a seperate table to order then and was told it would still be the same 40 dollars. So I had to sit there with my glass of water while everyone else ate. The service was horrible they came once to refil the water the entire time we were there and we had to switch tables cause where they sat us, the grill wouldnt even heat up. We had to flag them down while the raw food sat there, so they could try and fix it and we ended up having to move to another table anyways. Then when asked what one of the foods they were eating was, the responce is I have no idea. Overall experience was awful, esp for having to pay that much to make your own food. There was also sauce and sesame seeds all along the edge of the table againt the wall.

We went on Saturday night. We had made reservations. Our table was ready. We had to ask them to turn the grills on for us, minutes before our food was arriving. We didnt receive food we had ordered and had to ask for it. They made a drink wrong and didnt offer to remake it. They didnt bring a plate for our 1 year old until we asked. We have been there before and didnt have any problems. Dont think we will go back.

The red curry dish is beyond flavourful and just the right amount of spice. Absolutely amazing. The selection of vegetables and portion size are perfect. I am in love. Thank you Saigon House!!

only my second time here after 10 years! not a good decision. lol- NO MORE THIRD TIME I SWEAR. the servers are definitely nice. the food is okay, but i wish i went with my friends to SPRING GRILL instead I think Spring grill charges $40.99 for all you can eat versus Saigon s $41.99 (not very sure) but even if i have to pay more at Spring Grill, I will pick Spring Grill. First, we ordered our appetizers, soup, side dishes etc.. expecting they will arrive first right? Guess what we all got our plain rice first. haha- and waited about almost 10 minutes maybe and we got our side dishes, then minutes later our meat and veggies and just random other appetizers coming we got ONE soup. lol - we ordered 5 soupS FOR 5 PEOPLE - almost in the middle of our meal that s great! IT WAS REALLY BAD- and of course, bill out time- POS machine failed got declined twice- but card was charged- and just entire mess- I m just not gonna come back here just comparing it with Spring Grill and other All You can Eat bbq and grill I have tried- this is the worst so far- I will never recommend this to my friends or anyone I know, unfortunately. but to be fair, their kimchi,mango salad and the kimchi fried rice are good- no parking- im not sure if they have it in the back? but we had to park across the Hamilton Fire Station, there s a pay parking (John St and King William St) $3.5 from 5PM to 6Am it s just about 3-5 mins walk

Great service, All around good Korean BBQ experience with some vietnamese dishes. Id stay away from the shrimp though, it tasted like dirt and rocks.

Now when I arrive they were an hour away from closing! But still had amazing service the staff came over multiple times asking us if we wanted more to order due to the kitchen closing soon and gave us so many warnings which was amazing, its been a bit since we were there but I cant wait to go again for a date night! AND THERE SPRING ROLLS OMG THEY ARE TO DIE FOR I loved them so much will definitely be getting more when I go! Cant wait to come for a proper date night though when you guys arent so close to closing and I appreciate the hospitality you provided despite us showing up so close to closing truly a wonderful place to eat

Tried Saigon House for the first time and I m so happy we did. I ordered online for pickup and my partner walked over to get the food. Staff was friendly and efficient. The food and smoothly were carefully packaged. And everything was so delicious. I didn t think I liked pad Thai but apparently I d just never had good stuff before because it was fantastic. We ll definitely be back!

Fantastic food, consistently delicious and special requests followed. Their basil ho fun noodle dish is to die for, with pad Thai and pineapple fried rice also being favourites. They offer a great variety of dim sum/appetizers, all of which I ve tried being amazing. The calamari, shrimp dumplings, cheese dumplings, and pork buns are to die for!

They are cheap and dont give you the condiments to do yourself. The pho is mediocre which is bad for a vietnamese store. They have korean food on their menu i wouldnt even wanna try that

The finest restaurant in hamilton! I think it is underrated! I always order here because it comes fresh and orderly packed! This place is underrated. Should be recognized more! My favorites are their sesame balls,deep fried tentacles, and authentic custard egg(chef s kiss!). Well marinated meats too! Just a reminder, there is no need to give cutlery and napkins if the costumer did not ask. Let us be more nature-friendly. I always ask not to give me any , but they keep putting a lot of cutlery and napkins which i dont use

Saturday night, service was very slow, my group whom was a table of 4 had ordered items that they had consistently forgotten to bring. Even after repeatedly mentioning to the staff we had selected these particular items. Food was okay, which justifies atleast a 2nd star but there was small flies noticably hanging around the restaurant so we had to consistently cover our food. Then the waiters repeatedly walked by our table when our dishes were piling up and nobody took a second to ask us how we were doing or to clean our table of the dirty dishes, we waited approximately 20 minutes for someone to stop and attend to us.

Went around 3pm. The appetizer and main course were brought within minutes of each other. There were bugs flying around the table and on the food. The staff were eating a meal and didnt bother to check on the table at all. Waited ten minutes for the bill after finished eating. Finally had to exit the booth to get their attention. They were commenting and laughing. Food was just okay. Service terrible.

I found multiple bugs in the pad Thai I ordered tonight from this restaurant (the more I dig through, the more I end up finding). I reported them to public health and Uber eats but I feel nauseous and needless to say will never be ordering from here again. Owners response: there is fruit flies due to the weather. There is no way these are fruit flies and this is a public health concern. I appreciate the apology from the owner but this is not okay.

Wow the food is incredible! My husband & I ordered the Red Curry & the Pad Thai; the portions were amazing, and everything fresh. Such a treat! Will definitely order again!

Pretty good as always. Enjoyed the food and the marinated meat was pretty tasty. My favorite is always the pork belly and it did not disappoint! Service could have been faster. We had to wait a bit for our drink refills, but its always nice dining here.

Wonderful service - I asked the waiter for hot fish sauce and they brought it w/a cautionary warning. It was the perfect complement to my Beef Noodle Bowl. It was also my first time trying the dessert, Osmanthus. It is clear gelatin flavoured with the flowers of the same name. It tastes of very light apricot with a hint of piney greeness. It is a perfect low calorie, gluten free dessert to cleanse the palette or as a way to cool oneself in the summer.

Good general human chicken

New Review April 24, 2022. My friend, brother and I went to dine. Great portion and delicious. 3 years ago We ordered about a month ago from DoorDash app. Ordered seafood soup with rice noodles and chicken well done beef noodle soup. It was delicious, big portion, love the condiments. We would definitely ordered here again.

We went on the first day they opened up again & the Korean BBQ was delicious!!! All the food was fresh and if you ask for seasoning/sauce they give you tons of options. Service was excellent. Food came out fast. Definitely going back & worth the all you can eat!!

Had the all you can eat lunch and it is a great bang for your buck. Honestly the sides are the best feature- try the mango salad. It isnt very Korean as far as the sauces and marinades go, but is very fun for eating and socializing.

The meat quality was bad and it is expensive based on the barbecue meat they give to cook. I would not go again.

Very friendly staff, generous portion, very affordable price and varied menu. Please note the barbecue closes about 1 hour in advance and you must order à la carte. We went for the bbq specially so it was a disappointment for us.

Such a nice place. I find myself keep going back with my family and when we couldnt, we order via UberEATS. Very professional attendants, lovely meal, conducive environment and in general beautiful place for meal and barbecue.

Absolutely a must visit in downtown Hamilton!! The food, fresh, delicious, scrumptious, delectable! Perfect for any occasion! I wish I had pics to share but we were enjoying ourselves too much!! The service was also perfect!! A Hamilton gem!! s if I could.

At the time, the online menu and in store menu prices were different. My order was fresh and hot but it was super expensive for tofu fried rice.

Food was pretty good overall, just nothing particularly stood out vs. Other pho Ive had. The only thing I can really comment on about the food was that it is definitely spicier than what Ive come to expect out of Satay dishes, but if you love spicy food it shouldnt be an issue. Service was good as well.

This is a great restaurant for the people who love Thai Vietnamese food. This restaurant is located at the heart of downtown Hamilton. The ambience is lovely. Here, you can do your BBQ on the table since each of the table is equipped with a gas burner. We ordered shrimp pad thai, soup, and tafu onthon, and they all tasted delicious. Moreover, the staffs were nice and friendly here. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.

The family came here for Korean bbq and the AYCE selection did not disappoint. Quality meat, appetizers, dim sum items. Only two items paled in comparison were shrimp and asparagus. Good value. Would recommend.
