Food is excellent, great portions and all the staff are attentive and friendly.

Excellent food and portions are more than adequate! Especially enjoy the deep fried dill pickles. Parking: Across the street for on street parking and their is a paid lot around the corner Wheelchair accessibility: Ramp up to door but you have to have someone opening the doors for you.

We went on a themed trivia night, and it was really fun! It had a great atmosphere and really great food !

Had a couple of beers. The A/C was a bit too cold, im way too European for that. But otherwise nice location yo

Horrible wings tonight Jan 17th. $27 for two pounds of crappy over cooked wings..... had a wing craving and ended up eating them all..... bad decision..... but i dont complain much. Asked to have some fries to fill the hunger void because two pounds were probably a lot less and they refused! Owners should monitor their business better. A small order of fries costs pennies..... but this review is priceless. Bad business!!!!! I went back 2-3 times since my first review above. The wing were amazing...fresh, big and filling. When I went last night the wings were tiny. I mentioned it to the waiter and it seemed like he didnt care. Why serve diffrent size food at diffrent times.... why count the wings you serve? Look at what youre serving.... does it seem fair? $17 plus for a small order... not to mention the extra sauce charge $1.75 for blue cheese? Come on! As a few wings for customers satisfaction.

Last year the food was amazing. But a year later and new cook and staff and there food just not worth eating. There is no flavor in food and everything was cold for dine in thats not a good sign. Food

Mine and my friends go-to pub in Hamilton. Nothing beats Pheasant! So much history in that building too. Just great service and great food.

Will certainly visit again. Travis at the bar was more than welcoming and the atmosphere was top notch.

We recently hosted a party here, in the upstairs room and I have nothing but great things to say about the service. Our waitress Rachel was a rockstar, she was friendly, quick and just overall really great. The food was good as well. If they made some renovations and updates - it would be even better.

My fish and chips were cold but my husbands bangers and mash were steaming hot.

Nice place, small, very old British pub atmosphere and look. Its pretty cool to see the old stonework inside. The website says its haunted, but I saw no ghosts (at least I dont think anyone was a ghost). My buttermilk fried chicken sandwich was good, it came with plenty of fries.

This is my boyfriend and Is regular bar! The atmosphere is super low key and welcoming. Taylor, Alison and Josh are amazing bar tenders and really make you feel at home! The food is also to die for! The Phez burger and spichach dip are our favorite !!

Classic pub food and atmosphere

I have been frequenting the PP since I moved to Hamilton and its usually a safe spot to take my dad who has mobility issues and is a hella fussy eater. The menu is solid and on those rare occasions when something isnt right the staff fix it or take it away immediately. It just seems to be in one visit in three there is an issue. Otherwise I cant say enough good about the place.

Great wings and fries. Only downfall was we were told one of the servers was on a break and we had to go up to the bar to order our food and drinks. Food was brought out and subsequent follow ups were done, all good.

When I usually go to the Pheasant Plucker is 2 Days a week , from approx. 3:15pm till 5:30 pm . Its generally not too busy during these times , but does get busier nearer 5:00pm and on. Evenings and weekends it is generally busier. The staff is always friendly , the food is very good , and the pricing is in keeping or maybe a little lower than other establishments that are similar. They have daily specials throughout the week , Wed being their 2 for 1 Wing Night.Fri Fish and chips .etc. They have an upstairs large room available for rent , for parties, wedding receptions , sports leagues ex. Darts . With a large TV aswell. All in all I find this Restaurant/Pub to be very good and close to others aswell.

Didnt eat just for drinks chill pub

We ordered the fish and chips and an Angus burger. Both were delicious, fish and chips were a large sized portion (they did forget the tarter sauce) The burger was cooked perfectly, juicy and not over cooked, I added feta and bacon, fries travelled well for delivery!. I will add that they also forgot my gravy but the food is good enough that I dont care all that much.

There s nothing better than winding down after a busy day at the pheasant plucker. All the servers are incredibly friendly, kind, and fun to be around! The regulars truly make this place feel like home. After a long day of construction work, there s no place I d rather wind down than the pheasant plucker. Thanks guys.

I had asked for a Greek salad without Romaine lettuce. They had said they cant do that and it would cost me $15 just for the toppings. A true Greek salad consist of; Cucumber Tomato bell pepper red onion and Kalmata olives and Feta cheese. Why would I be charged more for a salad minus lettuce. That doesnt belong? The server could not offer me another option. She had to go to the kitchen to ask. In my professional and humble opinion, the kitchen was to (lazy) to make me a simple salad. Went across tothe B side. Found out it was the same owners, so we stayed for a beer and moved on. During this transition from The pheasant plucker to B side . Had a employee of the pheasant plucker argue with me in the street about my decision to not custom her establishment. I am a chef of 25 years. If the kitchen could have accommodated one customer. For a correct salad. The Pheasant plucker would of had a $300 influx to their coffers. The email in the answer does not exist.

Staff were very friendly, food was great and the place was clean. The Phez burger and sweet potato fries were delicious. I will definitely come here again!

Great pub, the oldest one on Augusta St. Pub food is great, pay a bit more but well worth it. Very cosy and warm atmosphere. Specials daily. Outdoor seating, a few big screen tvs, friendly table service, clean restrooms. Meatloaf and fish and chips feature with a full array of pub food and great draft and bottle selection and liqueur and wine

Love the wings here and the girls are lovely. My only complaint would be how outdated things are, it looks like they started renovations but didn t finish. That being said I would totally recommend this place.

Was not sure of the place as I walked by. I decided to chance it. Fantasic. I would recommend to all to ignore the renovations next to the pub. The staff and environment are top notch. Eva and Taylor made me feel like I was back home in London. Even left with food I wasnt intending to buy. A solid nine.

I just wanted to leave a kind review towards the lovely lady I just spoke to on the phone. Long story short I live in the US and it was my father s birthday today. Lina was so kind and generous to help me out with a meal for my dad and she was so kindhearted and thoughtful. I really wish I still lived in Hamilton so that I could try this place if this is how they treat their customers over the phone I can t imagine how they would treat you in the restaurant!!! My dad got Fish & chips with a side of gravy. It comes with Coleslaw and Tartar sauce Please check them out!!

Suzi was the absolute best server we could ve gotten we came for a friends birthday and she made sure we were able to give her the best night she deserved !!

Walked in, found a table no issue. Server was friendly, service was prompt, we werent bothered during our meal incessantly, so thats always a bonus! Deep fried dills were cooked perfectly, as were the Buffalo chicken wraps. Sweet potato fries had a nice crunch to them without being burnt or overcooked. Potato fries were good, though they usually are when I have them. Price was good considering I had more than enough to eat while in there that I had enough to bring out in a to go container. Good Times.

Great bar for traditional English fair. Had their poutine and wings. Wings were amazing, the poutine was a little too salty. They did not need the sea salt with how amazing their gravy is. Everything was fast and the waitress was very helpful with answering all of our questions. Have come back a couple times already and have never been disappointed.

First time ordering. Delivered through uber eats. Food was absolutely delicious. Everything tasted homemade. Mashed potatoes were fluffy, liver with bacon and onions were cooked to perfection, and the steak and mushrooms pie is to die for. We will be ordering again for sure! Thanks for a wonderful meal.

Recently had our Christmas party there. Couldnt have asked for a better venue. Alison was great start to finish with the planning, the servers were fast and courteous, and the food was amazing. Cant wait to back next year!!

My husband, mother in law, and myself ordered the fish and chips take out special. Due to an unfortunate misunderstanding we were missing a large portion of our order. When I called the lovely staff jumped in to make it right for my family. And the food is absolutely amazing. I just wish I had ordered extra coleslaw!

My wife and I very much enjoyed this classic British style pub. It is cozy with dim light. The menu is great, the food that we got was hot, fresh and real tasty. The servers were very attentive too, and the prices were okay. So glad they are open late on Tuesdays.

Nachos were cold, with cold melted cheese on them, the Chili on top tasted like canned chili. But the nachos DID come with a lot of meat, which tasted good but it didnt taste right with the nachos. Lobster rolls were just disgusting. Buns were stale, and tasted like imitation crab meat. A Friend described them as jail food

Ordered take-out online from here for the first time - 2 orders of haddock & chips, and one order of the chicken tenders. The fish and tenders were amazing! There was one item missing from the order. A friendly staff person handled this in one phone call, with efficiency, grace and generous compensation! Highly recommend this pub!

Josh did a great job keeping our pints topped up without asking while sitting at one of the bench tables (and on an Easter weekend). I love the atmosphere of this place and the food. Always a pleasure to be back.

DO NOT ORDER DELIVERY. They dont know how to pack food properly for delivery. They seal the fresh cut fries, so they arrive completely soggy. Not sure how they havent figured this one out yet. DO NOT ORDER THE $28 NACHOS. They send all the meat and beans toppings on the side and you have to assemble it yourself. The issue is, they already baked the chips with shredded cheese so you cant layer the meat and beans in properly. Also all the side dips (guac, queso, salsa and sour cream) were TINY: they come in those little black dip containers that hold like 2-3 tablespoons. So after YOU construct your $28 nachos, its all just dry meat and chili on the top. Huge rip off. The chicken tinga did taste really good though. Other issues: - The croutons in the Caesar salad I got were off. Portion was not worth the price.

Atmosphere is great, staff are fantastic and above all that, the food and drink is absolutely top notch. No trip to the hammer is complete without a stop here!

Was in town visiting for the weekend. We just wanted to go out for a drink and have a table to sit down and enjoy our time together. After an hour of bar hopping we came across the pheasant plucker. To be honest, at first glance didnt look as pleasant as it ended up being. - good drink selection - knowledgeable and verse bartender - great place to actually hang out, drink and eat.

Love the area, plucker is right on the middle of a great street with great options. Food is consistent and tasty. They are doing great considering the construction surrounding them.

My absolute favourite pub to go to. I can t Get over how exceptional the staff are. They always make me feel at home. Even when my nana passed, aoife was able to accommodate my family last minute. Great experience here today with my husband. They have creemore! Which hubs was happy about. And Ashley makes a great margarita! She was very attentive to assure I loved it and was willing to accommodate to my preferred taste (less sweet). Their wings were great! We got suicide, which our favourite. They definitely had the heat, but not enough flavour to accommodate the kick. Still great all in all! Will definitely be back!

My friends and I have been attending the pheasant plucker for a few years now and the experiences there are amazing. The servers are the ones who always make it a great time. Aoife the one lady who works there is absolutely fantastic she s always moving around checking in on the customers and ensuring everyone is enjoying there time there. 10/10 would recommend this Pub to everyone.

This has been a great spot for a number of years. Its cozy nature and lack of TVs actually make it a great place to talk around the bar and enjoy with new friends and old no matter where you sit. The food is exactly what it says, and more times then not, larger portions then you expect. While people will always find faults, the friendly staff is not a reason on that list.... If it wasnt for the service and consistent quality of product, I wouldve found another bar a long time ago. Cheers to the always happy bartender Aoife, who can turn any day right around! Looking forward to the next visit!

I wish I could give a 6 star review. The food was fantastic, the atmosphere was relaxed, the playlist was brilliantly curated (you had me at Iris by the Goo Goo Dolls) and the service was even better. You can t get a roast beef dinner with nearly perfect Yorkshire pudding for under $20 literally anywhere. The Buffalo chicken wrap and sweet potato fries met all my expectations. Thanks for a great meal and great service Josh. We will be back for that deep fried Mars Bar!

Our house burned down last week and Josh ran in barefoot to save me and my husband. He then helped deliver my daughter in the back of his car. We hope our baby girl will be able to live up to the legacy of the man she is named after. Joshs customer service skills is on par to his life saving skills.

I think the Pheasant Plucker is awesome, I have only been going there about a year on a regular basis and as a woman I feel safe going into the pub! Josh is OUTSTANDING, always makes the Patriots feel welcome and very attentive! There is a senior citizen that goes onto the Phez and Josh takes the time to sit down and speak with her and when she leaves Josh walks her home! Top Freaking Notch

Great place, great service, great friends. As someone who regularly consumes beer, pheasant plucker is the place to be. Rachel, is hands down the best server I ve ever had. I first met Rachel this year when I began visiting pheasant plucker, and we soon became close friends. Rachel goes above and beyond what a server should do, she even hangs out with me outside of the bar. At the end of the day, Rachel would put her life on the line for me, and I d do the same for her. In addition to it all, Dave (angry) is SUCH a kind, gentle, soul. I enjoy nothing more than drinking with Dave. I even met a man to take to weddings, Ryan jones, a heartthrob. All in all, a lovely bar.

This place used to be great so it s disappointing that the last few times we ve gone it has not been up to par. We usually get the same meals - fish and chicken fingers. The last two times the fries have been cold, there s been just a teaspoon of coleslaw and the chicken fingers are burnt (and therefore super dry). Service has gone downhill as well and I don t think it s the servers fault. On a Saturday night there were 2 servers for the crowded place. I don t think we ll be coming back anytime soon.

They have a brunch menu now with unlimited mimosas for 90 minutes! Available Saturdays and Sundays and Holidays from 11 am to 3pm. Reservations are recommended as it was busy enough they hadnt even put on their open sign! This is one of my favourite places in all of Hamilton. I have had so many good times with friends here!! Im only giving them 4* because the Brie is no longer on the menu. Hoping one day soon it comes back!!

Best Pint of Guinness in the GTA from my experience. Always the right temperature and the head is thick with no bubbles in it. Josh and the blonde haired bartender (Ashley maybe) pour the best ones. Others could use some training. Food is pretty good, chicken sandwich and Fish/Chips are probably the best options. Staff is nice and not too pushy. Good spot for a couple pints to kick the night off.

Phenomenal food and atmosphere. Service was top notch, drinks were consistently refilled and multiple servers were present. Cant wait to go back.

Good vibes but the nachos are 10/10. Must try. All other food is top notch too. Bars with activities are the best and they got 2 dart boards with a nice area for them. Parking really close by too
