La Spaghett Pasta House in Hamilton

If your favourite restaurant is East Side Mario s, by all means, this is a step up. If you like actual Italian food, they ll hand you undercooked pasta with pasta water under it, a scoop of Sysco sauce, & a spoonful of plain ground beef and call is Bolognese . Idk if their chef forgot to mix it together in a pan or what, but based on their other photos it seems that others receive the same deal (wet pasta with a spoon of sauce on top) and they enjoy it. So, like I said, if you love east side mario s, I suppose you could call this a 5 star Italian dining experience. lol.

For take out. Got the Polo Genovese with no green peppers. Red etc. all good. Top shelf. Worth it. $$$

Amazing atmosphere and Jacob was incredible. Food was great but mama maglione even more expensive than I anticipated. Definitely a great spot for a special occasion though.

The food was good, the presentation method was nice, the treatment at the cashier was very nice, and the girl standing by was helpful more than once I came and the performance was wonderful.

This was an amazing culinary find. We picked it on a whim, and definitely will be back. Were greeted and seated immediately, wait staff was quick and attentive. The owner came to the table multiple times to ensure everything was to our liking. An amazing meal, and atmosphere. You gotta go and enjoy.

If I could have left 6 stars I would have! This was simply the best Italian meal I have ever had. I couldnt decide between the chicken parm and the puttanesca so ended up getting both in a mashup. The chicken was tender and thick, the sauce to die for. The puttanesca was zesty in a way I cant even describe other than to say that I couldnt have enough of it. The leftovers barely made it home! I live in Barrie so cant come often, but no trip that way will be complete now without a trip to La Spaghett!

La Spaghetti Hamilton s Hidden Gem As a hometown girl from Hamilton, I can t believe it took me this long to try La spaghetti! It was truly one of the most authentic dining experiences I ve had in a long time. From the moment we walked in, the service was exceptional, and the attention to detail in every aspect from the food to the atmosphere was impeccable. We were there celebrating my mother s birthday, and the staff went above and beyond to make the evening special. They split a large, fresh salad into five individual plates for us, ensuring everyone could enjoy it, and surprised my mom with a delicious piece of birthday cake paired with a beautifully presented sorbet. Their thoughtful touches really elevated the experience. The food was outstanding, every bite packed with flavor, and the ambiance felt warm and inviting. It s clear the restaurant takes pride in their craft, and they truly outdid themselves. I would highly recommend La spaghett to anyone looking for a memorable dining experience in Hamilton. We ll definitely be back!

Amazing food, huge portions great service. We went for my wifes birthday and it did not disappoint, they are very generous with the toppings, hers had a ton of large shrimp in it, they even brought her a free dessert for her birthday. Warm bread brought out with fresh whipped herb butter. Just a great place all around

This place is absolutely amazing. My wife and I go here once or twice a year and are always blown away by the service and quality. They have a strong selection of local wines, and thoughtful ingredients in all their dishes. The decor is cosy, and the portions are filling but not gargantuan. My favourite Italian restaurant in Hamilton, and a must-try.

I have not been to this restaurant for a while, and was really looking forward to it. It wasn t bad, but I found the food wasn t as good as I remember it to be. Pasta was different, and the taste was not the same. I am not sure if it is different owners or what.

It was a cute little Italian place with a variety of different pastas and sauces to try from! It is quite pricey though and honestly nothing special.

What a treat! We had such a hard time deciding what to choose. Everything is fresh and beautiful. The staff were wonderful. Cant wait till we come back again.

It s been a long time since we have been here, it was our Anniversary & we decided make reservations .. it was as we remembered it, very small & not much room, we were seated at a front a table for two & when we sat down the chair sunk right down felt like it needed new padding, the waitress moved us to another table that had wooden chairs & we could sit higher. because it was a small place I found you were sitting on top of one another & because it was fully booked it was loud, found we had to talk over everyone, my husband ordered an espresso with our dessert which the waitress never brought .. I will say the owner Rebecca is a very lovely woman & the food was good, hot & big servings, but if your looking for a quiet romantic dinner for 2 not sure if this is the place.

Weve always enjoyed this little restaurant. Food is always good, service and presentation always good. Cant wait to go back.

This place is top notch in all regards. You will NOT find better pasta dishes in this city. The flavours are absolutley incredible and the portion sizes are very big, certainly enough for two servings. They always provide wonderful Ciabatta bread on the side with handmade whipped/herbed garlic butter that is delicious. As well sides of Parmigiano cheese is provided. Check out La Spagett and I promise that you will not be disappointed.

Walked in on my own just out of curiosity and discovered a small but elegant date restaurant. The bread was fresh and crisp with garlic butter and the meal I enjoyed may have been the most flavourful pasta Ive had in some time with a cream sauce and prosciutto. Wonderful service and hosting. Will definitely return. 5/5

The impeccable quality of the food is completely undone by the poor service. When making a reservation you cant even speak to anyone - you have to leave a message and hope that someone calls you back. When we arrived we were promptly sat and then proceeded to wait for about 20 minutes and watched while other people that didnt have a reservation were sat and waited on prior to us. We our food did arrive it was delicious, and we didnt see our waiter again until we had to flag them down, which is a bit strange because it is a small dining area. Regardless, if they really worked on their service, this would be a 5/5 restaurant.

A perfect tuck away restaurant to get the perfect flavoured pasta .

A small restaurant in the end unit of a strip mall. Seating is nothing fancy but if you like Italian food... This was a such a pleasant surprise. The best Italian Ive tasted eating out. So many flavours in one dish. So many sauces to choose from. Well be back for sure. Our compliments to the chefs and thanks to the servers that were so friendly, attentive and cheerful.

Why offer take out if they never pick up the phone.

I am always impressed by dinner at La Spaghett! Their gluten free pasta is excellent. I also appreciate how every sauce is made to order and completely customizable although with so many options in the menu, I think everyone can find something they like! Fantastic service, good wine menu, and lots of dessert options.

We luckily got a spot on a Saturday night b4 comedy. We had no idea how small the place was and from the outside it appears super basic...BUT its not and fate was on our side that day! The staff were incredible and accommodating. The food was spectacular and the atmosphere was quaint and romantic. Its very tiny so not much privacy. Id recommend going with two others and to be seated at a table for 4. Was beautifully delicious !

Ill be honest, we almost left. We had a reservation for 8:30 and were met with others waiting for the same time reservations. The patrons were polite and realized others were waiting. This is a small restaurant, but also fits the Italian vibe, its meant to. With that said, the service was great, the food was amazing. They did forget our drinks we ordered for dinner, but small thing. Just be prepared to wait a little longer for your reservation, but Im glad we didnt end up leaving.

Second time here for this Out of Towner . I live about five hours away. Absolutely amazing. Brad was an amazing server. Food was out of this world. Will definitely be back again. Parking: Parking in front of restaurant and also behind the restaurant.

For so many years now we have come here. It never disappoints. Yes, it is tiny and not high end. BUT, if you are looking for a fabulous fresh Italian dinner LOOK NO FURTHER!!!!! Definitely a HIDDEN GEM!!! Vegetarian options: Made to order.

Ive been here several times over the course of a few years. Ive always had an enjoyable experience. Overall, the food has always been good. The restaurant itself is quite small, so youre within arms reach to the next table, sometimes uncomfortably close, and you can hear their entire conversation. Make sure you call days ahead for reservations, because they dont always call you back, even though they said they will. Weve been left hanging a few times now where they dont return our calls for reservations, so we just dont go anymore.

Went there with my wife and friends on Friday March 23, 2024. I grew up with my mom making traditional Italian cuisine and Ive adopted it. While this overpriced pasta house might appeal to non-discerning tastes, I make my own pastas and pizza but went to appease my wife. I ordered my pasta al dente and it cam over - cooked. They remade it and tried to take me for a fool, as it came back softer. Would not recommend. Over priced and under satisfied. LIghting is awful as well. Would like to have a dinner for my wife and me to be offered.

First time for our party of 6. Atmosphere was small, relaxed, and very quaint. The food was extremely well presented, fresh and very delicious with generous portions. Service was top-notch. Very impressed,. Highly recommend this culinary experience. We will certainly be returning.

I have been to La Spaghett a few times now. Unfortunately, the more I went, the less I enjoyed the place. The food is still decent and the bread is absolutely amazing, but the pricing is high for the quality of food and what is served. Based on my experience, it seems like the pasta is not homemade either. Other than that, the restaurant is cozy and the service is amazing. They are willing to create any sort of pasta dish for their customers (might not be authentic but shows true dedication to the customer). Try the place out for yourself, you have to go there at least once.

Incredible food and always excellent service!

Last night, after only an hour and 15 minutes, we were asked to vacate our table as others were waiting. The ladies had wine remaining to drink. This was embarrassing as we were there with friends, to whom we had praised La Spaghett , for a very special birthday meal. The food was great as usual but this bums rush left us all with a bad taste. Either those waiting were early or the booking times were poorly handled.

Went here and loved it ...last night. Place was packed. My mother and I ate here and had a fantastic meal. One thing I can say is I love how hot your food comes out. I love that its still hot after five minutes not like most restaurants. Whoever was in the kitchen last night you know what your doing. Pure freshness. The waitresses did a fantastic job last evening covering eachother aswell giving more bread and water.

We were with 2 other couples and everyone enjoyed their pasta. They catered to my allergies which I was happy about. They have good food, great staff which are super friendly and outgoing. We all had some leftovers to take home so the portions were not too small as in some other restaurants Ive been in. Dietary restrictions: They are very good with subbing one thing for another to avoid allergy problems.

My family of 4 was going into Hamilton (1:20 away) for an entertainment event. We checked online and found La Spaghett was close by and the menu looked great so I called and made a reservation. Wow! Am I ever glad we did! Understand, I never leave reviews but I thought this was such a great experience that I d share with those on fence. Yes, the restaurant is dimly lit; which was fine and created a great atmosphere. It is not very big - which allows Rebecca to ensure each and every table is looked after to her satisfaction and catered to in a way a that sets it apart from chain restaurants. I found the waitress as well was very attentive and actually one step ahead our wants. The food . Wow! Rebecca said each of the pastas and sauces were made in house from scratch. I can tell , the meals we had were completely fantastic! There were 3 pasta dishes and the large Cesar salad. The Cesar salad was done very nice. Not overly dressed and lettuce nice and crisp. My son raves at the taste and the to-die for croutons. I know - it s salad. In the pasta column we had Pollo Cacciatore, Sausage Arrabiatta and Shrimp Sorrento. Each had a different meat and a different sauce. They were each so good we had to sample them all. I don t really know where to start. The Pollo Cacciatore was rich and so flavorful. The chicken breast was melt in your mouth and what my daughter described as the best chicken ever. The Shrimp Sorrento is an olive oil base, so not traditional in any respect. Fantastic! The shrimp were monsters in the fish and there were so many of them? Certainly did not skimp on this! My dish was the Sausage Arrabbiata. The spicy dish. This was incredible! I enjoyed this from the first bite until I was stuffed. I still had basically half of my meal to go - to take home and enjoy again! The sauce had a kick to it, but the flavors simply melted together in perfect harmony. The sausage too had to be home made. This is not your grocery store sausage or your chain restaurant pasta and pasta sauce! This was completely one off and special. This was the dish I was paying for! So although we were in town briefly and this was the restaurant we decided on, this is now going to be a staple in our restaurants to visit. My wife has already said that La Spaghett is well with the drive for a fantastic meal! Thank you Rebecca and La Spaghett for your wonderful hospitality and for one of the best dining experiences we ve had! Well done!!

What a romantic little gem! My husband brought me for a date night. The outside didn t look like anything special, but inside smelled heavenly and was so intimate and cozy. Our server was so friendly and attentive. I ve honestly never had such wonderful service before. The portions were massive too. The mussels came in the most beautiful sauce and we must ve gotten 50 in the serving. Everything from the pasta to the sauces were made fresh from scratch. I don t have an single negative thing to say. It was a perfect dinner.

Hands down the best Italian cuisine experience in Hamilton so far (and we say that as owners of a fine food business with hand made products we are creating from scratch). We wanted a pleasant, elegant and authentic experience for our daughters birthday celebration and we definitely got it. The food was honestly crafted without any pretension but with amazing focus on detail and harmony. Everything was fresh and delicious. Our daughter is in love with this place and we have found our new favourite local restaurant. Also thank you for finding my wallet. We are definitely coming back.

Picked up take out for the first time (we usually dine in) on Friday night and was blown away. I only expected the four entrees we ordered but when I got home and unpacked the boxes there was the same amazing bread and garlic butter that would be served to your table AND an abundance of fresh parmesan! The food was amazing as usual and was sealed very well in the containers with zero leaks. The Salsi di Pommodori is to die for!

I ve been meaning to do this review since July and finally got to it. I order a couple of pasta dishes for take out in July and there were some problems with the dishes. I decided the next day to call and left a message. The owner got back to me and was very nice and offered to replace the meals. I was very pleased with the way everything was handled and when I got the replacements a month later (my choice to get whenever and they kept a note of it) were excellent. Thanks very much!

Food is Delish!

My daughter and I went for dinner Saturday night, January 21. First off, the 2 ladies serving were absolutely wonderful. Very sweet and friendly. Service was top notch and to me, that s half the experience. The other half, the food was absolutely delicious!!! We had shared the muscles (dipping bread in the amazing sauce!!!), Caesar salad was good and I had the chicken parm while my daughter had chicken in a white sauce with mushrooms and sun dried tomatoes. Portions were large and we took the leftovers home. I would highly recommend La Spaghett!! I m looking forward to going back! Once again, service was the best!!!!

My sisters and I went for a quaint Italian meal and boy were we impressed.Our server Rebecca was fantastic! We ordered a delicious Valpolicella Ripasso wine to complement the three entrées including the lemon vodka with linguine as well as the Quattro cheese rotini and penne with Nonna s red sauce. You can choose your pasta and sauces in any combination to your liking . All three were extremely delicious with fresh pasta and fresh ingredients, the bread was warm and included homemade garlic butter. You could split one entree for two and have room to enjoy their delicious desserts! Small venue but worth the drive to Hamilton!

I can t quite put my finger on it. I haven t been to La Spaghett in years and was looking forward to having dinner there. First off you have to make a reservation, it s a small place and all the tables were booked. I will say it s dark and it has a romantic ambiance but I feel like there needs to be some updates to the decor. The menu is traditional with all pasta only items except for salad and appetizers. The warm table bread with garlic butter was a treat. The bruschetta was delicious. Quite a few of us at the table had chicken parm and one other had shrimp rose pasta. I enjoyed the chicken parm itself but the linguine and sauce missed something (bland) and even though i overloaded it with parmigiana, it needed more. All the pasta is homemade which I like. Prices were mid range, good size portions.

La Spaghett was on my list of places to go for a while, coming with high recommendations. It did not disappoint. We walked in at 4:30pm as it opened, and we were able to get the last table available. Its a small, cozy restaurant, so make sure to make a reservation if you can. The pasta was incredible, you could tell it was made with love. The Santorini salad was incredibly fresh... I need to figure out where they get their vegetables! Service was excellent and everything also came out quickly. They have so many different pasta options, you could return so many times without having the same meal!

Love this place! While the price is quite steep, they dont skimp on portions and the fresh bread is excellent too. As they are very busy it can be tough to get a reservation or take out on busy days, but they do their best to ensure you get in if they can accommodate. Have had dine in and take out over the years. Vegetarian options: Good options for vegetarian customers.

You wouldnt know that this hidden gem is tucked away in this little plaza. Its dark from the outside. You wouldnt even know its there blink and you drive by upper James is a busy street but I tell you where we blown away by not only the service. But the food was like you know like the old adages like Mama used to make. Oh my god such flavor very very large portions. And oh my goodness, I will definitely go back and recommend it highly to everybody. I know what a wonderful, wonderful place to go for Italian

Went to La Spaghett for our anniversary and it was the PERFECT place for it! Nice quiet and small place, felt very personable and private. The wait staff were EXCELLENT and couldn t have been more attentive and kind to us. They pasta was some of the best pasta we have had in a very long time and so many options to suit our appetite for the day! Quite generous portions for the price and everything was perfect. Such a great experience and we left feeling thoroughly satisfied and will be coming back in the future for sure!!

Not happy with this restaurant. Firstly there is very little space; very difficult to walk between tables. Very dark inside; you feel like youre in a mine. The dishes were tasty and large, but did not correspond to the price at all. For two dishes and a drink we paid 80 dollars, 80!!! Considering that in other good restaurants we took 3 courses for 60 dollars. Also the menu is limited, there is not much to choose from. I do not recommend visiting!

We can t recommend this place enough. We went for my husbands birthday and it was definitely worth all the hype. Ambience and service was 10/10. Our server Kaitlin was very attentive and awesome. She over heard me say it was my husbands birthday and brought us a chocolate cake with a candle on the house. We ordered a Caesar salad and the bruschetta to start. Both were very yummy. They also bring free hot bread with garlic butter for the table so we may have not needed the bruschetta, but still glad we ordered it! For our mains we got the Quattro Formaggi and the spicy Italian sausage in tomato sauce. Both were delicious! There is limited seating, so best to book a reso in advance.

The variety of homemade sauces is fantastic. So many dishes to choose from. The outside of this establishment leaves you guessing however the food makes up for your initial thoughts before walking inside.

We visited for Mother s Day dinner and had a wonderful experience. Everything was very fresh and flavourful. They were so kind to bring out a complimentary Mother s Day dessert as well. Service was friendly and prompt. It was my first time visiting and won t be my last!

Our family loves this place. My only complaint is that they took pizza off the menu. They had the best pizza in Hamilton.

We had a most enjoyable evening out at LaSpaghett. Rabecca was so welcoming and attentive The dinner and wine was delicious and followed by an equally amazing dessert, coffee and espresso. You ll definitely be treated to a 5 Star experience.

This is by far my favourite restaurant. It s romantic and intimate. The food is amazing. Be sure to make a reservation if you can, they can get busy.

Went here a few nights ago for the third time. Great fresh food and atmosphere. Giving it 4 stars because there was 4 of us and 2 different bills at the end. We thought there was an error with what items go on what bill and I brought it to Rebecca s attention and we went through it together and she noticed she didn t put the added chicken on the bill for an additional cost. To me, if you forgot to add it I think the customer service thing to do would be to just leave it out since it was your error. Service and everything was still good except the last part thought that was not great.

My fiancé and I had take out from this restaurant today. The food was phenomenal! Some of the best pasta we ve had in Hamilton. We ordered the gnocchi with Nonna s meat sauce and the Pollo Genovese with gluten free pasta, both were very delicious. We googled best Italians restaurant near McMaster university. We were meeting our daughter for dinner who is away at school and we were missing each other so decided to go for a nice dinner. From reviews we thought we d try this place . From the moment we walked in it was the best experience. The waitress was so friendly and assured me my shellfish allergy would be accommodated and I had no need to worry . Thats a HUGE bonus for me . The food from appetizers to main course then dessert was exceptional. So fresh and delicious the wine was also great I should add . This little gem of a restaurant will now be our place when visit our daughter at university . I highly recommend this restaurant and will definitely be a returning customer. This is a little gem of a restaurant. Food is divine and portions large. You choose your own pasta and sauce - and each entree is custom made! Staff are wonderful and very attentive. Restaurant opened at 4:30pm.and there 18 of us in line. It sits about 30 people and there were many reservations for 6:30pm. This was on a Saturday. Surprise bonus when waitress packed 2 boxes of food to go home she added a 3rd box of a mini dessert treat to share! I had fuselli pasta with butter shrimp sauce and leeks, spinach and feta cheese. Hubby had seafood dish with lemon cream sauce. Both were delicious

More than this Cake Food 9/10 Ambience 9/10 Service 11/10. Such a great experience. From outside may not look like much but this is a gem hidden in plain sight. We came towards the end without a reservation and they let us dine it despite it being late. They were super nice and the food was excellent. Ate it before a picture would occur. Mentioned it was my partner s birthday towards the end and they surprised us with this to go cake (half of which we already demolished cos it was that good). Top tier.

This place is a hidden gem . What a great atmosphere very polite and hospitable staff. Went here with my roommate and parents and the atmosphere was intimate and comfortable (we were seated right by the door and you could not tell). The food was delicious, and portions big enough to take home another meal. They do not skimp on the toppings or the meat. Cones with warm complimentary bread. And the staff were absolutely fabulous. 10/10 experience and one of the nicest places Ive dined in in Hamilton. Definitely get a reservation as there is limited seating but it is absolutely worth it.

On Sat Oct29 6 of my friends and neighbours ordered pick up.Nothing was correct as ordered.One meal was missing altogether and my pasta with Alfredo sauce wasnt as ordered.No creamy white sauce but an oily clear liquid and very little of it.So I paid a lot for noodles.The caesar salad was good so a least there was something to eat.Very very dissatisfied and disappointing .There was errors with the other dinners as well.What happened as have always been satisfied with anything before.

Ambiance is super cozy and charming as the place is not too big so it gives a home feel; service was great, very friendly, polite and on time; food was pretty tasty with portions size being pretty decent. Amazing place! Food and service both were amazing.

First time returning to La Spaghett after three years, I was disappointed. We had Primavera with cream sauce and Salsi Di Pommodori with tomato sauce, which tasted okay but not as good as what I had remembered; my friend stopped eating after a few bites. Also, their prices had gone up a lot since my last visit and had become much higher than similar dishes from other Italian restaurants. I used to recommend this restaurants to all of my friends loving pasta and I am sad to having to give this review.

If you are on Hamiltan Mountain msg me one day I advance and I will cook you a spectacular dinner than these Guys and will Charge you 50 percent less. And no I am not a competitor I am an extremely disappointed customer just like you

This evening Daughter and Friend craving pizza and Cesar salad ,pizza store didnt have but literally La Spaghetti house showed up on google map right next store almost.Walking in I didnt realise fine dining or dressed better for occassion wink . Very welcoming and Beautiful atmosphere, candlelight ....When arrived home and opened our well packaged takeout order and peeked inside ,Presentation waa beautiful and taste was so so delightful with every .And brisket bread and butter as a side was added surprise .salad dressing defintely a signature house made favourite and now ours shredded chesse for salade all in individual container and butter flavour so wipped and yummy I cant wait to have pleasure to dine in aswell continue taking out .Thank you for such hospitality and preparing a true Gem of Cesar salade ,kids absoultely and I enjoyed very much .Yours truly Christine
