We had a lovely new server named Anna! She was delightful. Food was fantastic and amazingly priced. Cute decor; clean and well lit. Diverse menu with all of the comfort foods you could ask for. Great desserts, too. (The deep fried cheesecake was terrific!). Would definitely visit again.

Best bar service around. Mel was fantastic. Recommend to anyone wanting a friendly environment.

Enjoyed a poutine and wings here. Didnt care for the gravy on the poutine, and wasnt a big fan of the ceaser parmesan bacon wings either. Also tried the sundress wit, and found the coriander flavor a bit overpowering. Still giving the restaurant 4 stars as the waitress was working alone and with the crowd that was there was still able to manage well and professionally!

Make sure youre not in a hurry when eating there . Its a more relaxed place small but cute . Had to ask for a few things including the check ..went to pay used cash and she took my money and I had to ask for my change .(that was after I handed her a tip !!!!)

Finally stopped in to this hidden gem with my family and it was beyond our expectations. The food was fantastic, service was great and the craft beer was excellent. Cant wait to come back!

Cute little place to have drinks and food. Food wasnt that good, we ordered poutines and regular fries and they were so so soooooo soggy and greasy sold 3/10 edible but not worth re- ordering Servers were nice but forgetful. We got cans of drinks and no cups or ice after asking twice. We got food and then no cutlery or napkins till we asked. We got half way through eating with our hands before the cutlery got to us. Could be better, and it was a slow day too not busy.

My husband and I were in recently on a weeknight, which was not busy by any means, and the whole 1.5 hour that we were there left a bad taste in my mouth. The waitress was very nice, and I think she was the only staff on the floor working, so it took a while for anything to be ordered. When we had placed our food order, another family came in, sat for a few minutes, placed their food order and actually ended up getting theirs first, finished and left even before we had gotten through with our food. We waited a long time and our main dinner came out before our appetizers, which turns out the cook did in reverse order. Even with the 2 small apps we ordered it still took another 30 mini to the point I wanted to cancel the order, because by then we had finished our main dinner and we just wanted to go home. For the past 10 years, Ive only ever come in twice, but both times the service as a whole was below any standard Ive ever had but I thought Id give them another chance. Unless Im there to drink some of the beer, (which the 3 we wanted were also not available either), I am not going back. Not very desirable to go back for more.

Why do you guys advertise one price on your site, but charge higher prices in restaurant ? Thats a great way to lose customers. You have great house craft beer in tall cans to go, but WHY are they not in the fridge ??? I came in for dinner to go ( no bacon on my burger but what ever....) Took a 4 pack of Durand to go and its piss warm. Multiple no nos in 1 visit is not good business practice.

Before the show we went in from the rain storm outside for hot totties,tea and a shot of hard liquor, with a table spoon of butter scotch cause of no honey. But only one waitress, it took 40 min for her to serve three shots and 3 tea,we were late for the show.but the best hot totties we ever had with the butter scotch,we wanted to eat but no time.

Place was pretty full, waited 15 minutes to order a drink, the. Took half an hour to bring it out. Then the waitress disappeared for an hour . Place was extremely loud. Hard pass next time

I loved the poutine. Nice dark gravy, real curds and fries with the peel still on for a bit more crunch.

Our waitress was super nice and very accomidating. The food left alot to be desired. We both had chicken tenders and fries. The chicken tenders were hard on the outside (not crispy, hard!) and dry on the inside. Terrible. Like the were left under warming light for a long time, so they dried out. Fries were ok. The apple blossom and deep fried cheese cake desserts were really good I have to say. The meal was $100.00 and as far as I am concerned was worth maybe 40.00 tops. Needless to say we wont be back. I dont suggest eating here.

Went before Disney on ice. The atmosphere was amazing! The waitresses dressed as Disney characters. It was the start to a great night! Food was amazing. I would go back again!

If I could give this place less than 1 star I would. Went in today on an event day. Disney on ice was in town. Came by afterwards for a bite to eat for lunch. Waited 25 minutes at the door to sit down. Came in was told the kitchen was busy so we couldn t order food just yet. Fine. Put an order in for an app and kids meal as soon as we could. We then ordered 2 salads and a butter chicken dish. Waited 60 minutes for a kids cheese pizza and almost 2 hours for the rest of the meals. I then asked to speak to the manager who told us a hotel discount was all we could receive and that she would have finished making our meals if I didn t ask to speak with her. They raise the prices on event days so already I was paying nearly $25 for a Caesar salad with grilled chicken. Needless to say I was furious and walked out. I am now writing this in the car after not eating a meal because I refuse to give that place any of my hard earned money when I received no respect or consideration for waiting that long. There should not be an increase in prices when you can t keep up with the 2 tables that were left waiting for food before I walked out. Im sorry but based on other reviews this place deserves to be shut down. Which is a shame because it had good vibes and our server was kind.

Cant rate the food cuz after waiting for an hour and a half for our order, we walked out. Went down the street to Tobys, and we were eating in 15 minutes.

Planned on a meal before attending Disney on Ice on a Friday afternoon. We were attending 3 pm show, arrived at George Hamilton just before 1 which was just after the previous show had let out. Waited for about 10 minutes for a table, a short lineup was evident, and it was also apparent there were a number of reservations, but a considerable number of empty tables as well. The groups throughout the restaurant were like ours, parents with children who were attending the show or who had just attended. To expedite the process we placed our entire order for our table all at once just after we were seated at 1. What we thought would be quick to make (deep fried chicken sandwiches, tenders, and a burger) were not at all quick. By the time 2:30 rolled around we had not had a plate of food and many tables around us wee were waiting for food as well. To avoid a full meltdown of our children one in our party ran to a nearby A&W so we would have something to eat before the show. As we had a view of the kitchen it seemed like there were major issues with time management. Staff seemed to be waiting to finish making one dish/plate before starting another. This left a number of people frustrated throughout the restaurant, and many people without food, or left to be scrambling to shovel food in before the show. The only saving grace for the meal was our server who was also the hostess who was trying her best to keep her composure and cool despite the kitchen not being able to maintain service. For lunch time on a Friday, with shows across the street, it was a major disappointment of a meal.

We arrived 90 minutes before a local event. We were lucky to be seated within 10 minutes of our arrival. We gave our food orders in a timely matter.Thats when it all went downhill. We were a table of 2. Beside us was a table of 4 that were seated within minutes of us. Beside them was a table of 8 that was seated after us. It was a LONG wait for food!! We didnt get our for until about 75 minutes after ordering. As I watched around the restaurant, I noticed that the table of 8 was served and getting ready to depart and we havent even seen a glimpse of our food. The server was busy and at one point she apologized for the delay and said she would go check on the status of our meal. She never returned and updated us. This was the only time she checked in with us until our meals arrived. It was now 20 minutes before our event was to start and still no sign of food. I was at the point where I was going to cancel my order and settle up for the beer I purchased and just waiting for the server to return. When she finally returned, it was with our meals. We had 15 minutes to consume our food and get out of there. I ordered the double patty burger with fries. When it was served, the two pattys were cooked beyond anything I have ever seen. Overcooked and DRY, DRY, DRY!! The fries didnt have much to them either. It was pretty evident that they dont change the grease in their frier very often as the fries came out almost as dark as the burgers. I should have sent the entire meal back, but I was so friggin hungry after waiting over an hour that I just had to eat. The table of 4 beside us were served minutes before us and they crammed what they could down before leaving with plates half consumed. They were going to the same event as us. All in all, we chose this restaurant because of the high rating from reviews. This was far from what we expected. What I could see was they were understaffed with servers, understaffed in the kitchen (I could only see 2 people working the kitchen) and their kitchen staff totally lacking the experience to keep up with the number orders, yet alone prepare decent quality meals. Having a direct view into the kitchen from my seat, I could often see main cook having pleasant conversations with the servers while meal tickets were more than likely piling up in the que. I would not return nor recommend this restaurant to anyone. The reviews are too complementary from my experience. Needless to say we were late arriving to our event.

We stumbled upon this place for a late dinner while staying at a nearby hotel. Food was your typical pub grub, but it was delicious and the menu had a nice variety. The server was extremely busy but still friendly and attentive. It happened to be karaoke night and we had a blast watching and cheering on the local entertainment!

Went here because the reviews for the Mac n cheese were good. It was bland and tasteless. Idk how you mess that up. Complained and was still charged for it. If you want PROPER smoked Mac go to Valentinos!

Worst experience in a long time. Placed order for drinks and apps and meals for 4 with about 1.5 hrs before a local show. Drinks arrived, 45 mins later 1 of 4 meals arrived and apps about 5 mins after that. Told none of the other meals had been started. Fuming mad, cancelled remaining meals (no time), still charged full price for what we did receive despite them screwing up the order so badly. Sat through an entire concert on 2 breadsticks.

Went before a Toronto Rock game. They had an event menu which was limited but still enough variety. Event menu made sense to get people in and out quickly as they are across the street from the arena. We ordered food and after waiting for over an hour, we asked how much longer it would be and we were told another 15 minutes. Had to leave without eating so we could get to the game on time. Disappointing.

Went for a visit before the Rock vs Thunderbirds game, my wife and son had the sticky chicken burger and they enjoyed it. I had the burger and it was ok. It was busy and they seemed to be understaffed for the amount of business they had, we did not have to wait since we were early but it was lined up when we left. Tried to get a reservation but our email went unanswered. It was our first visit to Hamilton.

The waitress with turquoise hair was fantastic, we didn t have to wait at all and she was so polite and friendly. Definitely will be coming back

Great servers, really not good food. The staff was lovely and were dressed up for Disney on Ice. They put a Balloon and a note on our table for my daughter and were great at coming when we waved them down. They didnt check in often, but it was an event night too It was a nice atmosphere. Even with the bar, on st. Pattys day the vibe was chill and it wasnt too loud or too cramped. The servers did put half my friends appetizer on my bill without asking, and I would suggest checking with people first. Now the food: not good AT ALL. The appetizer I didnt eat was not worth the price they charged. It was a SMALL dip and 3 small breadsticks for 16 bucks? My burger was both overcooked and cold. The restaurant had no heat at all. I shivered and froze the whole time we were there. I wont be back here any time soon I dont think. Youre better off eating at the food court in the mall, if Im being honest. Sorry The George, hopefully this helps!

It s a pub. One of the oldest in Hamilton. Staff was pleasant, looked like the pub was still recovering from the St. Patrick s day Friday night crowd. They dressed up though for the event for the venue (Disney on Ice) and made it family friendly. Food was ok, although the honey Dijon chicken club sandwich didn t actually have any Dijon in it - would have given them a four star rating if the food was better.

I ve been to the George before & have had good food & service but last night (Saturday March 18) we walked it, sign says please wait to be seated, we know the people working saw us but never acknowledged we were there. Most of the tables had dirty dishes on them. I could see there was maybe one table that was cleared & yet they continued to chat & roll the cutlery up (I assumed the 2people chatting both worked there). We decided it would be best to leave & go somewhere else. Plenty of restaurants to choose from downtown. I don t normally do reviews but management needs to know what happens sometimes.

Maybe the best Buffalo chicken sandwich Ive ever had. Fries were tasty but not hot. Space was great, service was good but we had to wait a long time for our bill (was a large group for lunch).

Mac and cheese was awesome and so were the fries I popped in before a Bulldogs playoff game, and for some reason my wings took 45 minutes to get to me...it was packed, but still...45 minutes?

Staff couldnt cope with number of customers. Orders came out of the kitchen in random order. People beside us came in 10 minutes after we did and were half finished eating before a solitary hamburger was delivered to our table. That burger was just mediocre .. the whole atmosphere of this place was mediocre. Once we got someone to just bring the bill we were glad to get out of there. Definitely dont recommend.

I very seldom write negative reviews and especially if it is a small business but my goodness I felt as if I was on an episode of Kitchen Nightmares. We had an event at 7pm so we made our reservation for 430pm assuming that would be enough time. We were a larger group at 10 adults and some small children but we made the reservation well in advance so didnt think it would be an issue. As soon as we arrived we learned they had given the area we were supposed to be seated in to other people, who they ended up having to move in order to accommodate us. There was a man there who said he had been waiting over an 1.5hrs for French fries and the manager was not even willing to come and speak to him. The servers were all talking in front of us about how they shouldnt have taken the reservation and were bringing food through all the people standing by the door which was rather unappetizing. Finally we were seated. It took about 45 minutes for us to get our drink order and we had to ask repeatedly for the server to bring us water. By 630 pm we still had not received any food only been told of items the kitchen did not have anymore so we had to change our order. We said can we at least get the kids food as they were growing inpatient waiting 2 hours to eat. The server said it would be at least another 30 minutes for their food to be ready. I have worked at several restaurants and I can not even comprehend how it can take more then 10 minutes to prepare deep fried nuggets and little pizzas. We ended up having to leave the restaurant without any meals and very hungry agitated children. We had to get food at the venue and ended up missing the whole beginning due to this. The worst part was the restaurant was not even full! There were plenty of open tables and no one waiting at the door to be seated. I have never been to at a restaurant so incompetent in my entire life. DO NOT go here if you have any sort of time restrictions or small children.

Came at 4pm before a concert place was half full. Waited 15 min before we saw our server. Ordered food and drinks. 45 min later got drinks. An hour and a half in saw food and only half of what we ordered. Over two hours later our two salads that we were waiting for showed up. We ordered more drinks in mean time and they didn t come. We asked to talk to manager and that went over real well she had zero care for our issue. Will never go back! Terrible terrible place!

As it got closer to the concert start time, the restaurant was packed. Most tables around us we complaining about not getting their food or drinks. 2 tables actually left as they waited an hour and never received their order. VERY understaffed and unorganized knowing it was an event night. Would not recommend.

Went before a concert. Had a event menu which the food was good but a bit over cooked. The service was so slow it took 70 minutes to get our meals. The waitress was lovely and tried to apologize and took some money off the bill which was very nice of her. Would probably try a different venue next time.

Very friendly and smiling waitress. The food was very good as well as the beer. Good relaxed and cozy atmosphere.

They told us that they had a new menu when we sat down, so we were excited, and it was not good. Ordered a few appetizers. Calamari was fine. The flat beard, which was basically a pizza, tasted like a McCain pizza and others in my group still believe it was. And it was cold. And the nachos werent that bad but the chicken on top of it was cold, and we let our waitress know. But like most places, all they can do is apologize. Also, the waitress told us that some of the apps will be out in 90 seconds, they came out about 10-15 minutes later. Will not be going back.

The bartender on Wednesday was great. The place was empty. We didnt eat but looked at the menu & the food is pretty pricey.

Terrible terrible place. Food is trash. Cockroachs, cross contaminated food. Staff is terrible there. If you want the most ignorant waitresses go here. No hygiene. No care, no manners. Absolutely would NOT recommend. -Also have filed a complaint to the health board & city of Hamilton.

Bad service, even worse is the food .... took 45 mins to get the food when the restaurant was nearly empty and the food was cold had to send back and get fresh food which was not good either.... we were 12 ppl and 80 percent of the food we got was cold and tasteless.... One good thing was the Naga Ghost Sauce but thts about it.... wont return here again ....

First time here, ever. My bad for having my Saturday on a Wednesday but seeing the event menu prompted me to ask for the full menu. Bartender was exceptional! Kind, friendly and professional (great manicure). I will absolutely take a day off to come and try the food as it looks amazing. Drink prices are excellent. The atmosphere has both a bar and restaurant vibe. Give it a shot

Went before an event, food was fantastic!!! We had wings, hummus dip app and pickle wedges... Drinks were great. Wish this was local to me. Waitress was excellent! I have no idea why one would complain. I didnt see one plate come out that kitchen not look appetizing.

I ordered their hamburger. It arrived very burnt and the piece of lettuce was very soggy and old. I asked for another burger, it came in good time but tasted burnt and the lettuce was old and soggy. This tells me that the kitchen is disgusting. The grills arent cleaned properly and the storage fridge has rotting food in it. Please fix immediately.

The restaurant has a nice vibe and we were excited to go there. Unfortunatley, it took 50 minutes to get all of our food after ordering (three mains) which sucked because we were hoping to grab a quick bite. Not sure if a dish we ordered needed more time but it would be great if the wait staff let you know that info when ordering or atleast apologize/explain why it was late. My 4oz burger was also cold which made it less appetizing. the price was okay (16 dollars and cheese costs extra).

Ive been here a couple of times, both individually and with family, and still havent had anything but wonderful times, food, drinks, and service. The fish and chips and poutine tend to me my go tos, while washing it down with one of the selections of house beers. Service is great and friendly, however I am speaking based on coming in on non-event days, so YMMV.

We are sitting here right now, having just finished our dinners and I must have said 40 times omg this is SO good!. I had the Bolognese Papardelle which has a rich, delicious sauce made with beef and pork. I dont think I have ever had a better Bolognese sauce. My husband, who used to be a chef, had the Garlic Parmesan Alfredo. When he orders an Alfredo I always cringe because very few chefs can flavour an Alfredo well and hes always disappointed. He loved it! Yay! Our server, Christy, is fantastic. Shes friendly and sweet. No doubt we will be coming here again.

Went in before monster jam hamilton, kitchen lost our order. Waited over an hour for the food once everything was sorted out. Waitress came out told us the fish taco was sold out, then brought the taco out. Our sons chicken tenders were the only good thing about this meal. I had the sticky chicken sandwich with fries, when it came out it had a garden salad on it and was soggy. I never received the fries. I was charged for everything we had ordered even though we didnt get everything we ordered. The worst customer service I have ever witnessed. The food was okay, nothing special(could of been the hour wait)

Mediocre service and food for its price point. Surprised that drinks were served in disposable plastic cups rather than glass, especially as they are also a microbrewery. We were a table of four and there under an hour in total, in part because the table was being completely bussed as we were in the middle of eating. Condiments and unfinished drinks were being taken from the table without asking despite that we had food items for which we still wanted to use the condiments. The server was polite but most certainly left the impression that she was done serving us regardless of the fact meals were still being consumed. Visited on May 7, 2022 Orders: - 1-piece fish and chips - buffalo chicken sandwich and fries - George burger and fries - jr. George burger and fries - side of chipotle aioli

Service was ok, food was not good at all. We ordered, pretzels with a beer cheese. Wasnt cheese. Was a lumpy roux, that reminded me of sludge at the bottom of a sink. Also had the red pepper spinach dip, really tasted like a dip youd buy in the grocery store with stale chips. Unfortunately we were hungry and unfamiliar with the area so we stayed and the kids ate what was in front of them. Definitely will not be eating those foods again if we ever decide to come back. Husband and I left hungry. Disappointing for a brewery

This place sucks! Came for a drink..wanted a martini.. but the bartender said she didnt have the ingredients?? Olives and vodka?? the cook was in a bad mood and decided to close the kitchen. There was a concert last night and lots of ppl were coming in but they turned them away bc they said kitchen was closed?!?! Like why.. we have been in a pandemic for 2 years ..why would u want to turn away customers who want to have food and drink.. everytime ppl came in the cook would huff and puff and say tell them the kitchen is closed!! He was miserable.. server was nice tho..she said he was having a bad night.. not the customers problem!! Why on earth would u close the kitchen early when there was people coming in wanting food.. Dont waste ur time.. go somewhere else!!

Outstanding!! Thoroughly enjoyed the red pepper spinach dip, Caesar salad, goat cheese butternut squash ravioli and bacon Mac and cheese. In town for a show and decided to give this location a shot. Curbside appeal looks like its under construction and inside looks like a typical pub. The delicious and eye appealing creations of food stands alone. Totally didnt expect the flavor explosion. Will be back for sure. Staff was knowledgeable and happy to serve. Bravo!!

Great server and the steak sandwich they just happened to have as a lunch special was to die for! My partner had the burger and it was juicy goodness. The fries and salad were very good as well. They have a good selection of craft beer I noticed but I didnt order any. Well worth the stop and good value for my buck.

Need a LOT more gluten free options than flavorless wings. Lasagna had to be sent back as it was far too salty. However, there was a large concert happening this night and they were busier than I believe they had anticipated. Drinks were good.

We went to this pub before a concert on Tuesday at 4:00 pm. Unfortunately they were not prepared for the large crowd of people that were lined up outside the door and they were very short staffed. The restaurant was only half full and we waited half an hour to be seated. Once we were seated, our server had to keep checking what the drinks were that they served and they did not have a drink menu. We were also told that due to short kitchen staff, they could not take our order for 45 minutes. We were given a shortened event menu and a few of the items were not available. We both ordered a burger that was overdone and fries extra crispy and dried out. Good thing I had great company to make up for the experience that the restaurant lacked.

Horrible service, ordered a drink and food. Two different beers on the menu not available. Half hour later flagged waitress down for another. No food after an hour. Had to put money on the bar for the drinks and left. No apologies, will never be back.

Got there at 5:30 and had concert tickets for 7:30. No food and charged for a plate of fries to make up for it. Never..never again

Sat at a table for half hour, nobody even tried to take a drink/food order. Got fed up and left, went to anchor bar and got prompt service. Go to anchor bar instead.

Hate to say anything negative especially of this place but.. Event night across the street they really should have more staff in and not newbies that have no idea what they are doing. Took 2 hours to get my order of wings. Finally had to leave and didnt even get to finish my wings. Charged me for drinks I didnt even get. However the 3 wings I did get to eat were really good!!

Not a good experience! Been here for something to eat and it all started out friendly. The food was okay, but things went wrong when paying. The waitress pointed out to us that giving a tip is customary in Canada, after we selected no tip on the ATM. We explained that we did not know this. Then it became increasingly unfriendly and ended in a real discussion in which it was anything but friendly! It seemed like the waitress had prejudices about us. After this I quickly paid (without tip!) and left. (Bad service!!!)

Absolutely love being back at one of my favourite places to eat. Used to visit very frequently (pre-COVID) before the theatre and would enjoy their steak sandwiches. Recently returned for their famous lasagna, portion is enough so that I have lunch for the next day :) The wait staff are so friendly and really focus on your individual needs. The new changes to being family focused certainly benefits when you have young children (in my case grandchildren). Looking forward to celebrating Halloween this Saturday at their Halloween Bash and am looking forward to attending their weekly Karaoke nights. If you havent done so already ....you MUST check them out!!!! Good Food, Good People and GREAT experience. 5 PLUS Stars all around.

I am genuinely impressed. The staff was amazingly friendly and knowledgeable. Now, on to the food. If I could give it more than 5 stars, I definitely would. My husband and I started with a small Caesar salad, and the red pepper & spinach dip, and oh my gosh!!!! So much flavour and absolutely delicious! Move forward to our Main, my husband got the butternut squash ravioli, and this was by far one of the most incredible pasta dishes Ive ever tried. The flavor burst within the ravioli was something so unexpected, but Superior job on that. It was incredibly stunning. I ordered the Mac and Cheese, and this was such a great choice. The flavours in this dish were also incredibly bold and delicious. Thank you to the staff for an amazing experience.

Worst restaurant experience of my life. We had a concert to go to, and booked a reservation almost 2 hours in advance of it. Waiter did not seem interested in our table and seemed completely focused on a larger party next to us. The table of what looked like 12-15 put their orders in about 20 minutes after we did and receieved their mains before we had our appetizer. Drinks did not take long to get but my appetizer which was JUST a cheese dip was about an hour wait. We had ordered fish and wings at the same time we ordered drinks. We continued to wait for our main courses while being told it would be 5 more minutes over and over again for about 30 minutes straight. After over an hour and a half of waiting with no food in sight and being given the run around by the server, we decided to pay for our drinks/app and leave. And even then it seemed like we were an inconvenience to the server and he couldnt be bothered to deal with it. Absolutely terrible service and definitely the worst restaurant experience I have ever had. Will never be back.

Overall enjoyed this place. Karaoke was a little loud however service and the food was delicious. Very impressed with caesar salad and grilled chicken sandwich. Ill be back again.
