173 King St E, Hamilton, ON L8N 1B3, Canada
Excellent dim sum from this restaurant! Every dish I tried was delicious and full of flavour. Dined in for brunch Saturday. The server was friendly and quick and also asked us about allergies- nice attention and care. I enjoyed the food so much that I got takeout the next day! (Takeout is 15% off if you pay with cash) The rice rolls were the perfect texture, turnip cakes were soft and creamy, and the shui mai was very tender. But one of my favourite dishes was the deep fried crab rolls. They are wrapped in tofu skin and crispy on the outside and juicy and succulent on the inside. A must try!
We absolutely loved it here. The quality and quantity of food here is very good. It tasted like my childhood reminding of all the days my family used to go out to Dim Sum. All the signature dishes are there and we will definitely come back.
Saved ourselves the drive in to Mississauga or Markham this Sunday, by stopping in at Hamilton’s own Dim Sum House downtown. Ordered the usual suspects on their high-tech iPad self-select menu in English with photos to illustrate - shrimp dumpling (ha gow), shao mai, pork peanut and chive chiu chow dumplings, spring rolls, taro fritters, beef rice roll, steamed pork buns, pan-fried pot-stickers - and a dry-fried soy beef chow fun, to test their noodle offering. Disappointing rice noodle roll (the beef filling was way too processed and had a slightly sour “off” taste to it 😝) while the flat rice noodles seemed to have been reconstituted from dry, and not fresh from the refrigerator section of Asian markets. However, quality of the sliced beef was good, seasoning on point: flavourful not overly salty. Would recommend staying away from any “rice noodle” items on the menu. All other selections were comparable in standard 👍 to other Chinatown locations across the GTA. Overall, a worthwhile visit, especially with gas prices these days!
Fried cowboy bones are completely bad and stinky. You can't eat them. Fooling customers with expired food. And the food was served very slowly, with a mandatory 15% tip at the checkout and no advance notice to me or my friends.
The staff was friendly, attentive, and overall great to talk with. However the food didn't pull their weight. The shrimp dumpling skin was too thick, the shrimp was a bit off, the steam bun was not soft enough etc.
Really enjoyed the congee soup and various dim sums. The pork bun was amazing, sweet and savory. Great service, worth a trip.
When I was growing up, I always associated Chinese restaurants with good food and tacky/run down décor. No more. This place takes it up a notch. It's clean, with updated décor and it's clear care has been taken to make the place presentable and comfortable. And... the food is awesome. There are lots of dim sum classics, but they don't have everything, as it's a small restaurant, so you may not get everything you're looking for. I miss the carts rolling around with staff yelling out what they are bringing around, but that's 100% nostalgia from my childhood. Here, you order whatever you like and it's brought out fresh. Bathrooms are not very accessible as they are down steep and narrow stairs in the basement, but there are four individual rooms that are useable by anyone. Prices are reasonable, service was speedy, and staff were friendly. It can be tough to find a good dim sum place outside of the GTA, but this one, despite the limited menu, scratches the itch. I've returned multiple times. Worth your consideration IMHO.
My first experience at Dim Sum House was wonderful. Food was beyond expectation, service is a great, and the vibe is very relaxing. I could not be happier with this experience. I will definitely be going again.
Amazing food, great service, really cozy vibe. Highly recommend.
Very nice place Clean, comfortable with music playing Food was excellent Dim sum excellent Will be coming.back soon Its a pearl in the rough
Food is hot and tasty and good value, its Hamilton but the quality is as good as good as you would find in Markham
Very good dim sum! Servings are smaller than I m used to, and prices are at the high end, but most flavors are excellent. This place has all the choices, including frozen, make at home dim sum: I ll be trying that next time! The shrimp in rice noodle could have better tasting sauce: it s not bad but not great either. The pieces of Vienna sausage in the sticky rice were displeasing: they were large and not the mouthful I d want from a good sticky rice. The footballs , as we call them (taro we call hairy football from the fragile fluffy tempura type coating. The mixed meat ones we call sweet & sticky footballs. Lol) were VERY good! We had pick up: I m looking forward to dining in!
Amazing so impressed with quality and freshness.
Amazing sesame balls and turnip cake. Would recommend to come here
Food was ok but my stomach hurt and got diarrhea right after
Every time, awesome
Food was worse than when I had it a few months back, quality fell drastically.
Long wait time for dining in, and the food feels like pre-made dishes. The vegetables were just boiled with some soy sauce added. Not recommended.
Food ok. Restaurant could be cleaner. Clogged bottles of sauce, grubby I.pad. Toilets need a good clean.
Food was under seasoned and blend. The restaurant was empty even though it was still lunch rush time. My GF is Chinese and agreed with me about the food quality but though the space was not Asian designed and uninviting.
Good prices. Excellent service. Decent food.
The quality of the dim sum is very good, the rice rolls are smooth and the soy sauce tastes great! The shrimp dumplings are of a high standard, and the vegetable dumplings are also good! The fried taro wedges are slightly dark in color, but crispy and delicious. They are high-quality taro wedges without the smell of powder! The only drawback is that the fee is a bit expensive. I will come again next time.
Food quality has substantially reduced from the last visit a couple of months back. Dim sums are not recommended now.
The food here is good, very authentic Cantonese food. Overall good experience!
Great place for an outing with the family! Amazing food and great service? Check and check! And the atmosphere was beautiful, great job guys!! I recommend the shui mai it was incredible!
As a small town restaurant, the food and environment are very satisfactory. Most of the guests who came seemed to be nearby neighbors, mainly Chinese.
Missing items in order that had been paid for restaurant said it was my problem
Enjoyed some wonderful dim sum, fried rice, and noodles with friends. The food was delicious and they had very tasty vegan options as well! The atmosphere of the restaurant itself is clean with plenty of seating. Its interesting that they close so early in the evening, especially over the weekend! The food is amazing, but I would recommend going early if you are interested in having dinner as the final call is at 7:30 pm.
Love the dimsum, ambiance, and service here.
Big portions and delicious. Will definitely return. Ariel was a great server
Came here with a big group of friends the day after a wedding we attended, and it was the perfect dim sum fix that we all needed! They were able to accommodate our big group, and even when more of us came afterwards halfway through our meal. Food was delicious and came out fast, and service was good!
Took my sister here and we ordered an array of dishes and it was delicious and prepared perfectly. The wait staff were polite and extremely professional. It was fairly priced.
First time being here. The food was delicious and the place was clean. If I am in Hamilton again I would try again.
Great quality. Im so happy we have a yummy dimsum option in Hamilton!
Reasonable prices for the best dim sum in the city
Hit the spot for my dim sum fix
Excellent Dim Sum!! Been here a couple times and it never disappoints. Food was hot, service was great and very nice restaurant atmosphere. Must haves: Har Gow, Eggplant, Shumai, Lo mai gai and my wife s favourite was Lo bak go.
Very nice Dim Sum. Went with a group that likes a leisurely chat at lunch and we were not rushed at all. Everyone enjoyed the meal.
Food was great but prices could be better. Side note: Pay with cash have benefits Food
This is my first time to eat here. It was a very bad experience for me. Especially the waiter. First of all, there are two rows of tables in total. The guests at the first row of tables finished eating, and they said to clean up and we would sit there. We asked if we could sit at the empty table in the back? They said the table in the back was not open. The waiter sprayed a lot of detergent on the table and asked us to sit down to eat, but it was not dry yet, and the smell was very strong. They were unhappy and asked us to change seats. Second, didnt you give the tip yourself? This restaurant directly input it for us and handed it to us, and the waiter said it was included in the consumption. Didnt we say that we dont give tips? Isnt it normal in Ontario that customers are responsible for everything? Customers have the right to choose. Finally, before we left, the waiter cleaned up the things on the table. This is rude to customers. But the food is still delicious.
Ordered wonton soup on Uber eats, Half of the bowl was spilled in the bag, leaking all the way.
Delicious food, love bringing friends and family here
Barely anyone inside. Food was ok, not fantastic
Food & service was good.
This place is great!! Service was good and food fantastic.
Excellent Dim Sum satisfying and fresh.
Disappointing! Food is mediocre. Employees are rude. What astonished me is that half way through the meal, the employees starts to vacuum, and it s 7pm. It s not like we entered the restaurant right before they close. If you continue this manner, you might as well just don t open.
The food is OK, but the taste is not Hong Kong style. I ordered nine dim sum... including two rice rolls, both of which were poorly cooked! You can try the others!
Dimsum wasn t the greatest here but did the job to satisfy cravings. Shrimp har gow had a thicker wrap that was more opaque than translucent. We were provided with minimal sauce on the rice rolls. Steamed tripe did not taste fresh. Everything else was decent. Ordering system is through the iPad and there s a tea charge per person. Cash discount offered.
Rice rolls on the thicker side and not cooked properly. Steamed bbq buns were ok. Tasted cake-y. DF tentacles chewy but seasoned well. Do not order the congee, couldnt eat it. DF chicken wings had a drizzle of honey that we were not expecting. Shrimp rolls were great. Bill came to $62 incl tax . Pricing and service were fine. Quality was mediocre. Liked the restaurant interior. Modern and pretty.
Fantastic food for a rainy day.
We looked up a dim sum place open on a weekday. This place popped up and we were eager to go. The food was good, served hot and tasted good. Portions were large so the price was fair. It was salty though, the hot sauce was like salty ketchup and if you get the veggie with oyster sauce, you can forget about the sauce. The place was nice, clean and had a good ambiance. The service is what unfortunately was a bummer. We had a table of 5 adults and 2 (5yr) kids. We did all our orders on the tablet, piled empty dishes at the end of the table, didnt ask for substitutes or extras. (our kids were playing dolls at the booth while adults ate- to paint a picture of the type of diners we are) But every time the waitstaff came and put down a dish, they sighed and huffed because they had to move around us adults sitting in the chair. If we asked once for hot sauce and she rolled her eyes at us. We were told the tip was included because our table was too big and extra work. I am sure I can explore other dim sum places but do concede they have alright food
I really loved this place!!! Great portions, awesome flavours, and variety. We got the stuffed eggplant, shrimp dumplings, pork dumplings, PF vegetable dumplings, and lava steamed buns. It was soooo good! I will definitely be returning.
I ordered cheese wontons. The menu made no mention of anything but cheese being in them. When I took a bite there was something pink. I asked the waitress if there was shellfish in it as I am allergic. She said no. I ate more. As I was eating someone came running out from the kitchen saying there was crab. I was apologized to and given a 15% discount. The food I was able to eat was sub par. I have attached a photo of the beef balls. The restaurant itself was beautiful.
Very very good dim sum
So good! The best dim sum I have ever had. The squid tentacles were so fresh and crispy!
Ordered through Uber Eats. The Wonton Soup, and cheese Cheese Wontons were unpalatable.. smelt and taste metallic like. 2/5ths of our order was inedible.. tiny portion sizes all around.. will not be returning.
The BEST dim sum we have had in a long while. Every dish was fresh and well made. 3 of us ate till we couldn t eat anymore for $100. We ate: Shallot pancakes, pork sui mai, fried octopus (best dish), rice roll shrimp, the most tender steamed bbq pork buns, steamed chicken feet, deep fried pork puff (amazing) and the squid minced pork rice bowl. The waiter and all waitresses were friendly. The atmosphere was modern and spotlessly clean. We are already planning our next visit.
First of all probably the most kindest and helpful staff for acting quickly on advice from a private customer to verify it was a fire and to call emergency services for assistance and also alerted all staff and management. So thank for your quick awesome response on helping save lives yesterday guy. Big up yo. Hope the firefighters appreciate your quick response n maybe come in for a meal or tranquil tea n atmosphere. Ate here n had tea again. Its Jan. 2. 2023. Today. XGB. Definitely perked up my new after a joint from realm down the street. Best part of the new year so far havent been here for a min lol was out exploring
Food was fantastic, generous portions and waitstaff very friendly.
The dim sum was fresh and delicious. Service was fast, and if you order online, you get 15% off. I will definitely be coming back!
Decent food but find it to be overpriced for serving size. Flavour is not all there and toned down.
The dim sum is absolutely delicious. The items are surprisingly large, super fresh and mega tasty. We had the stuffed eggplant, shrimp and chive dumplings, har gow, fried chicken, sticky rice - all were delicious. We also had Chinese broccoli (gai lan) but it wasnt my favourite-I found it a bit watery and bland. Usually it comes with more garlic and flavour. The restaurant is aesthetically pleasing and comfortable.
Loved the food! Great selection. Wonderful flavor. Would have given it another star if it would have had egg custard cups and more noodle plate choices. The servers were very attentive and the restaurant was impeccably clean.
Came here with my hubby on valentines day. We came at about 3 30 because we wanted to miss the rush. Service was excellent, as well as the food. Would definitely recommend
Went at about 3 30, service was quick, and the food was excellent. The pork wonton soup was especially good, try it out. The broth alone was worth the money. The food for 2 cost $34, and was more than enough.
Ate here for Valentine s Day. Literally the softest dim sum ever. They were like tiny pillows from heaven. Had the wonton soup as well. Massive serving. Superb value for money. We ll be back often!
Good little Dim Sum spot downtown thats family-friendly!
First time ever having dim sum and it was fantastic! Hamilton needed a great place like the dim sum house! Everything brought to the table was cooked perfectly and very fresh! I will be back!
Good food and attentive service. Try their pumpkin congee, its yummy on a cold day!
delicious! went for yum cha, wasn t disappointed.
First time here, nice modern decor & food was quick. It was ordered via ipad. Best tasting dim sum in Hamilton in years. Highly recommend as this is only 1 of 3 options available sadly in Hamilton and the other two don t even compare.
Ordered from Uber eats, congee was fresh, wonton soup was good not too salty. Dimsum was also tasty and fresh. I will be coming here in person, have finally found a dimsum place in Hamilton I can order from!
The first batch of tableware that came out was oily, and the spoons that came out were also oily, but they were replaced in time after asking. The water that was poured was tap water and it felt unfiltered.
Excellent selection of Dim Sum and some traditional Chinese food! Clean interior and helpful wait staff, food was fresh and came quickly
Authentic Cantonese cuisine
Dont let the fancy decor scare you, it is good old fashion good quality dim sum and price is better than the competitors. My new favorite dim sum place in Hamilton.
I like this place for dim sum better than some of the other places I have been to in Hamilton. I like it much better than the AYCAB. The quality is almost on par with those in Toronto. I find the interior modern and elegant as well as clean. They did not miss any orders. Price was reasonable, as is expected at a dim sum restaurant. They didnt offer anything special or unique in terms of food on the menu but they had a good variety of selection and included all the usual items that I order when I am dining in the Toronto restaurants in Chinatown. I would definitely come back here for dim sum.
Always good hot dim sum.
Great selection and authentic as well. You order on a tablet they bring by, rather convenient. My boys enjoyed it and even tried the octopus, which was delicious. Theres a parking lot nearby, $3.50 (we were there on a Saturday evening).
Amazing service and ordering was very easy. Pork buns and wonton soup were honestly best I had. I will definitely be back for more! Thank you
Received my order from Dim Sum house thru Uber Eats and I loved it. Everything was fresh and tasty and generous portions. I find the dumplings a lot larger than other places I ordered the congee combo. I selected the fried dough with shrimp noodle and a chicken congee. It offered extremely good value. The chicken feet are wonderfully seasoned, can t get enough of that flavour. The stuffed peppers were extra hot today .I am accustomed to them usually being made in green bell peppers. It wasn t a problem for me, just way too hot for my kiddos. All in all I think it was a great meal and I would be happy to order from here again and recommend it to others.
The 15% discount is a complete and utter LIE They charge you for tax a second time so there is no 15% removed
We ordered the ribs. Gross chewy. We ordered the chicken on rice. Gross lots of bones flavor was terrible. I thought the food would be good there. We will never go back.
Nice place with pleasant decor, polite servers, and high-quality food. Personally, I didnt like the hard wooden seats in the booths, so if you have a bony butt like me opt for the dining room with the padded seats, which upon inspection as we left I realised would have been a better choice.
Great, authentic yumcha with a few fusion items. The Yew Chow dumplings were a bit overcooked so would fall apart when trying to take them out of the steam basket but it was all delicious.
Delicious! A little pricier than what I would normally pay for dim sum but still good.
Delicious dimsum with many varieties to choose from in a clean, modern and cosy restaurant. Staff are quick and attentive.
I will come back there with pleasure
Disappointing hot pot and service... We ordered the chicken hot pot and additional beef slices, which arrived frozen. When I asked the server, she said they are supposed to be like that and Im to put them all in at once. Ive never experienced that before and it doesnt make sense. The noodles are dried noodles. Then the servers didnt check in with us after that. The beef roll cilantro was Ok.
love the food particularly wonton soup!!! service is also good
Indeed. Its the best dim sum place in Hamilton and its within 50km radius. Im very impressed by the quality and authenticity of the food it serves. The cost is on a little higher side. Otherwise, I would give a full 5 stars. Very friendly staffs and cozy environment. Highly recommend it.
Very tasty dim sum there, serving good food, and services was good. Kid-friendliness: Provide high chair for kids. Food : 4/5 |
Delicious, fast food, good service, acceptable price
Not you re traditional cart service, however, all the standard Dim Sum offerings. Didn t have the chrysanthemum tea but not a deal breaker
Very enjoyable atmosphere. Fresh and hot food. Quick service. Very authentic.
Have ordered here a number of times. The dim sum here is amazing! Everything is fresh and on point. The steamed beef rice rolls, crab rolls and pork puffs are my go to.
Amazing Dim Sum with an incredible variety of different options, including seafood and vegetarian. Would have been great if there were more options for tea but the setting and decor was nice as well and added to the experience.
My husband and I went for lunch there yesterday 18 Oct and the dim sum was outstanding, best I ve had in a while
Wife wanted dim sum and was going to drive from Milton to Mississauga but decided to try out this place in Hamilton. Best decision made. Ordered 7 items for the 2 of us using their tablet and food came after about 10 mins. Food was steaming hot. Quality is very good and size of each dish was bigger than other dim sum places (I had dim sum in Markham, Richmond Hill, downtown Toronto Chinatown and in Mississauga). We had charsiew bun, shrimp dumpling, lotus leaves wrapped rice, chiuchow dumpling, vegetarian beancurd wrap, eggplant wrapped with minced pork and a desert. Service was prompt and courteous - not particularly busy as this was on a Saturday morning with 2 other tables but quite a lot of takeout orders. The restaurant is up to date with its decor and quite unlike the traditional dim sum places I have been to. It is a more refine environment to dine in. Price is similar to Emerald dim sum but higher than Jade dim sum, both in Mississauga. The only downside is the washrooms (they are clean and well kept) are located in the basement down a flight of stairs. Ovetall a very good experience for us and we plan to go back to try other items on their menu soon
Closing so early
The food is brilliant and fresh and refreshing! Vegetarian options: There are many options. Food : 5/5 Recommended dishes
Very delicious food and clean.
Our waitress Giovana was lovely and very sweet. Very accomidating. Good wonton soup and a nice atmosphere
It was our first time here and we enjoyed the food very much. Everything tasted so good. We been searching for a really good dim sum restaurant in Hamilton. Search no more... good atmosphere, good service and great food. Will definitely be back many times more.
Everything Ive had here over the past 2 years has been yummy. I especially love the congee combo.
I think I ve been coming here for about 2 or 3 years now and it never disappoints. Quality of the food and serving sizes are very fair and the service is great. The restaurant is usually very clean and the atmosphere is nice as well. Im sure you ll find some better options in the east end BUT if you re local to the area and aren t keen on driving into Markham/Toronto then this place is sure to please and satisfy those dim sum cravings!
Bad Service
Sat for 25 mins. No one took my order.
A much needed dim sum option in Hamilton. Very clean and high quality. The high quality outweighs the variety of options. Its a pleasant surprise to see a handful of dim sum options made really well. Attentive and friendly staff. Easy huge parking lot in the rear of the building. Our food came out relatively quick for dim sum.
Service is good. Food is ok.
Ok experience, not a bad option for dim sum. Youre paying more for the atmosphere and comfortable seating more than the actual food. Its yummy, but not quite the same as some others. But for being in Hamilton, and its backing is August 8, its not bad since the food itself has already been established at August 8. Just dont expect the usual stir fried dishes you can also get at an authentic dim sum restaurant.
Amazing Dim Sum you have to try it
Tasty food, nice atmosphere, good service, recommend!!! Would love to try other items on the menu!
Very good & having lived in China, very authentic. A couple more of favourite menu items would take my review to 5***. Missing soya sauce noodle & lotus paste sesame balls in my opinion Very clean & attentive service.
I feel sorry to say that the food quality is very disappointing. The cooking is so so, not like whats shown on menu. The worst part is the food is not fresh. I ordered a Chestnut Pumpkin Congee. But it tastes like sprouted potatoes. The material used for the food has gone bad. It could be toxic. This is not tolerable.
I was going in with limited expectations given there are so many dim sum options in downtown Toronto and north GTA. The food was quite fresh and portion sides for some dishes were quite large. Enjoyed the congee very much as well as turnip cake and rice bowls. Hope the restaurant keeps up the good work on service and cleanliness.
Good price! Tastes good! Hope they have more dipping sauces available (and lemon slices too!)
I thoroughly enjoyed eating here and was pleasantly surprised. I grew up travelling all over the GTA eating at different dim sum restaurants. I recently moved to Milton and didn t want to drive all the way to Markham to go get dim sum and Mississauga dim sum has gone downhill. I found this place in Hamilton and decided to check it out. I will definitely be coming back. The quality of the food and portion size is very good. All of the food came out piping hot and the service was really good (these are normally pain points for me when I get dim sum). Like mentioned in other reviews, the menu size isn t as large as what you see at other dim sum places. However, they provide all the staple dim sum items and they make it really good. Also, very clean!
The siomai is very delicious. The glutinous rice chicken is average, with some broken bones, more rice, less ingredients, and a piece of sausage in the middle. Oolong tea tastes very strange and different from what I imagined. Service was very good and food was served quickly.
The food is very high quality and it comes with great service.
By far, the best in Hamilton.
Great food, acceptable prices.
Great place. Satisfied my old man.
This is a great new dim sum place in Hamilton. Price is comparable to most fim sum places. The selection is condensed, but most of the favourites are available. Place is very clean and has a modern aesthetic with some homage to chinese design. The Shu Mai is made in a traditional way, stuffed with ground pork, whole shrimps and topped with roe. The Sticky Rice has a good even distribution of filling and big chunks of Chinese sausage. Overall Id definitely come back and hopefully theyll expand their menu.
Authentic tasting dim sum. Very nice atmosphere, fast service.
We are so delighted to have recently discovered/tried this restaurant. Within the past two weeks, we have already gone three times due to our familys enjoyment of it. Within Hamilton, we would argue this is one of the better traditional dim sum restaurants we have been thrilled to eat at, although we acknowledge it is still a reach to compare it to authentic dim sum restaurants out in the GTA. Their food prices are fair and we justify it based on the fact we are saving on the cost of gas to go out-of-city for the premium. Portion sizes are reasonable to the price, though there are some items that are certainly bang-for-the-buck. The congee is spectacular for Hamilton quality, we have not experienced anything like this within the city confines and were sure to order it on every visit. As usual, downtown parking is never thrilling, but there is availability in rear lots and curbside (if youre lucky), but most of it will be paid unless you are willing to do a bit of a hike or its a weekend/holiday. The staff there are attentive and friendly. With years of exposure to the level of service at Asian restaurants/eateries, I can say their service puts a smile on my face. The atmosphere is inviting and the only area I would say is a bit lacking, would be their washrooms, theyre a bit dingy and is located downstairs (would be a problem for those with accessibility needs). This place accepts cash and card (without a surcharge), which is nice. I did notice some promotional offers on their tables, one with a 10% discount offer and when I inquired about how to obtain it, I was not given a very clear answer and left confused. I had to do some digging on my own and my response to that would be if there are promotions available on the table, then the staff should be aware of how to explain the promotion terms/conditions.
Food is high quality, tastes authentic, and they don t cheap out on the meat in their dumplings. However, it is a tad bit more pricey compared to traditional dim sum places and menu is quite limited in items. Clean and modern interior, a change from typical dim sum restaurants. You order from an iPad which shows pictures of each item!
Found this place while eating at Jet Cafe across the street and decided to go the next day.The service was phenomenal and the food was amazing quality also super fresh. My family and I ordered numerous items so that we could share and everything tasted really delicious. Overall fantastic experience and will be going back!
Expensive! The service was so poor; they deserve a zero rating out of five. They don t give a dame about Asian customers
Really solid dim sum location. Well priced and the food came very quickly. Service was very good as well. Definitely would come again. Vegetarian options: Bok Choi
Second time here. Excellent food and excellent service. This coming from someone whos grown up on dim sum. Nice looking restaurant too.
Vegetarian options: Small selection Parking: Easy enough Wheelchair accessibility: To get in the building yes...for washroom facilities NO
My first time here and this is the BEST dim sum I ve had in a very long time! The staff was very friendly. The restaurant itself is clean, modern and inviting. I will be back for sure and letting all my friends and customers know about this place
Simply delicious dim sum. All the things you could want. The prices are a little high, but the pieces and portions are large and I never leave hungry.
The Congee went bad, it has a rancid smell and taste, and there is a fly in it!!!!!! I had a long cough after eating this congee
Best food Ive ever had in the down town Hamilton area!
Very accommodating to our small child. Food was great. Our server, Allen, was great. Prices were fair given (a) quality and (b) portion sizes. Nice jazzy soundtrack. Will return.
Very good dim sum, best in Hamilton. The cheung fun, congee, octopus, chicken wings, beef ribs and rice noodles were delicious. Siuw mai a bit salty. You can always tell dim sum quality by their short ribs! Tablet ordering system with pictures made it easy for people who are not familiar with all the dishes. With that said, it was a tad bit pricey ($100 for 2 people including tips but we had a bit leftover to bring home). Compared to all u can eat sushi it costs pretty much same. However this is much fresher than August 8 dimsum (i think they are affiliated somehow).
Try the fried crab roll, or the rice rolls
Best dim sum in Hamilton!
Guys, the food I ordered and the food delivered are totally two different things, this restaurant deceived customers to a shameful extent! I ll never buy anything from this restaurant again! if there s a zero star, I ll give them a zero with no doubt!
Very nice dim sum place. High quality and delicious food in a restaurant with modern decor and good atmosphere.
A nice spot for dim sum. Ambience is quite nice and clean. They have a great selection of dishes to choose from, and you order from an iPad. Dim sum dishes are generally well done. The rice and congee dishes are quite a substantial size as well. Would recommend the sticky rice.
Amazing food with great service. I particularly enjoyed their stuffed chile peppers. You can order food on a tablet which is very handy. This makes the process of ordering very simple and easier. The tea was good too.
Polite and professional service. So attentive and respectful. The food was delicious, one of the top on my list, and Ive tried lots of foods in different countries. I will be returning.
Pleasantly surprised with this hidden gem. There are not many restaurants in the Hamilton area that offers dim sum and Im happy to have found this place. First thing, the restaurant is very clean and decor is super chic. Service was on point. It is not the beat dim sum Ive ever had, but I would consider the best in the Hamilton area. Also, I like to mention that the downtown King St area has really cleaned up and there are so many new cute shops and restaurants that have opened.
Good prices. Nice atmosphere
Place is clean, supposed to be a higher end dim sum place. Should add more option. Need that deep fried shrimp with mayo. The congee is good and only $7. Parking in downtown is meh.
Wish they offered all you can eat
My fiancé and I ate here yesterday for lunch on a whim and it was incredible. The dim sum were flavourful, rice rolls were fun, their golden crispy chicken was a huge portion and so moist and crispy. We got congee too, we went with the beef strips one, and it was delicious.... the waitress wasnt kidding when she said it was a large portion, it was probably just shy of a litre of congee (reheated nicely for my lunch today too.) Service was kind and very helpful, we told her we were newer to ordering dim sum and both servers we interacted with were great. Ordered nice jasmine tea for the two of us which was so inexpensive for a kettle to have at the table. Lots of traditional dishes on the menu, and they had a promotion where if you took a picture of the food and posted to your story on Instagram, you got a free dessert. I tried the taro dessert and it was great too. Prices were fair, food was great, and the service was friendly. Were looking forward to returning with a bigger group so we can try more of their smaller-for-dim-sum yet really nice quality menu!
Nice Cantonese dim sum. The ambience is good, too.
An amazing Dim Sum experience that was well worth the drive from Niagara. The dishes were served hot and fresh. Everything was delicious and i left VERY full. I would definitely go back.
Very good, delicate. Especially dishes to share.
Hands down some of the best dim sum Ive ever had - high quality, well presented, and great bang for your buck. Ive tried to explore many dim sum places in the East end but keep coming back to here. Highly recommended
Excellent food. Simple, modern and tidy restaurant with decent prices and great cooking.
Delish and service was great.
Good dim sum, very authentic. Very good service.
Amazing food and great service from Tiffany. Will definitely be returning.
Excellent!
We were in the mood for Asian food and found this area which has several Chinese restaurants. This one has a trendy interior design. The quality of dishes is high. However, I feel the price of the food is a bit overstated. For a dim sum restaurant, We end up spending about $120 for three adults.
I can clearly tell the food are NOT AUTHENTIC and overpriced, won t visit again. Unauthentic morning tea and too expensive. After ordering it twice, I m sure it s not delicious because it s not an accident. The rice rolls are thick and not elastic. The vegetables used are not fresh and not crispy when boiled. The porridge is particularly bad. I don t know how long it took to stew the finished product. Its like mushy. Overall, the price/performance ratio is low, and it is edible but not delicious.
A traditional dimsum restaurant in Hamilton. But people would like to pay for the food not service.
The morning tea is very good, but the new pork belly chicken is not so good.
Stumbled upon this restaurant while in Hamilton for a concert and was pleasantly surprised at the quality of food they offered! This review is coming from somebody who grew up in the Scarborough/Markham area! Give them a try if youre in the area, you wont be disappointed! Service was excellent also!
Great food and friendly staff, the upstairs is so pretty. Bathrooms are hurting for some care, theyre in the basement which smells of sitting water and needs a revamp. Thats really the only negative, everything else was lovely, will be going back soon
Good all around. Quality of food was good. Price was okay for the quality. Wheelchair accessibility: Ground level
The dim sum dishes definitely not very good. Turnip cakes are greasy. The steamed dumplings skin sticked together, same as rice crepes. Overall, many dim sum dishes are sub-par. Visit twice and same results. I wont go back again. Vegetarian options: Only two veggies dim sum dishes that are strictly veggies. Kid-friendliness: All Chinese restaurants are kid friendly Wheelchair accessibility: No wheelchair accessible bathroom
Always a great experience & yummy authentic dim sum!! I grew up having dim sum almost every weekend but when we moved to Hamilton, options were very limited. I was super happy when I saw there was a second Dim Sum restaurant opening and I m so glad I gave it a shoot! It s become my go to whenever I m craving! If you don t want to leave the city, this is the place to go!
Phenomenal. No other words
Some much needed dim sum in Hamilton that is pretty decent. Some of the food were stand outs (the hargow was excellent) but others were kind of meh (the deep fried squid). The iPad ordering is very much like an AYCE sushi place but everything was a la carte. There s some very obvious dim sum favourites that was missing from the menu (whaaaaat no egg tarts!???) but overall it s not terrible for the West end. Can t compare to Toronto or Markham ofc but not bad!
For Hamilton, this is a great option for dim sum without having to drive to Mississauga or further. Selection is limited but quality to price ratio was good. I would definitely be back. My favourite dishes were the pork rice rolls and octopus. Har gow and shiu mai I would also recommend.
