23 Augusta St, Hamilton, ON L8N 1P6, Canada
The Ship opened in 2009 and is Hamilton’s top spot for Ontario craft beer (its all we pour!),Erie style perch and chips, and gourmet charbroiled hamburgers that’ll knock your socks off!
The service was fairly good. The menu list was limited, in my opinion. I wouldn't knock the spot, though. I'm sure, but other people would say otherwise, but it's not my thing. I have a relative who has been there, and she liked it and said their burger is lovely. So, it's really a matter of to each his own.
We loved our dinner here. Very friendly staff, good food and nice background music. Perfect!
Super chill. 5/5 easy win for everyone who comes here. The big pickle is what the waiter recommended and I just loved it. It was cooked to perfection with the flavors just melting in your mouth. Thanks for the great food and I will be coming back.
Omg Clam Chowder poutine! Say What! Don't get stuck on the burger list the menu has hidden GEM'S! Burger was good tooo! Will was the best server! More than willing to ensure our first experience at "The Ship" won't be our last! Music was classic! 🎶 🎵
Great little restaurant/pub. Nice selection of beer. I ordered the Hot Shot Burger, with added bacon. The burger was excellent. Big, juicy and a little tangy. The fries were well done. I really enjoyed this experience. Highly recommend!
Best burgers in the city! I’ve been telling everyone to come here for years. Service is always awesome- accommodating, and friendly! We love everyone there. Jack has been our server a number of times and is always friendly, speedy, and witty☺️if you haven’t been here, you’re missing out!
Jack is awesome and a sweetheart !!! Herb fries are the best for hangout and chill topped off with your favorite soda! I love the vegan options as well! Great experience!
A nice patio with comfy chairs. Service was a bit awkward but simple and casual. Food was okay first time around. VERY deep fried chicken- dry and stringy. Herb fries were delicious. Cocktail not bad. Price a bit steep for food but atmosphere is nice. Maybe will try a burger next time instead
Dill pickle burger with herb fries! It looked like a work of art, and the fries were hot and delicious- my friends burger was equally outstanding. Great service and a tasty Niagara Chardonnay to wash it down with. Beer list is impressive. And NO TAX! Woot woot! Food
From BC In Hamilton to visit a friend. Decided to check out The Ship. The food was amazing especially the Duck wings. This place did not disappoint Food
I had a glass of orange juice (because their iced tea is unfortunately Brisk), a plain jane burger with an impossible burger patty substitute and a rye and coke after the meal (I think Pepsi was what they had. Whatever). My son had some other type of their burger, but with a meat patty and a rye after the meal as well. We both really enjoyed our burgers very much. As mine didnt have any kind of house made sauce on it, I wouldve really enjoyed some mustard with my ketchup. That said, I never asked for it, so thats on me. Fries were good enough, but they arent of the crispy variety, so dont expect that. The only negative food experience, which was really odd, was their ketchup. It couldve been whatever brand they use, but it finished with a slight unpleasant acidic sort of bite. It struck me as maybe it was starting to turn, but Im not sure. It was off-putting enough that I sadly ate most of my fries without it. The fries did however stand up well enough plain. Service was great, but it fairness to the review we were there super early and were the only partons table seated. Music was great, it was a throwback to a bunch of rock songs I forgot existed (mostly 90s I believe). We had gone there to celebrate my sons 21st birthday. He had been there before and liked it enough to choose it for that occasion (we didnt tell the staff to avoid any of the restaurant birthday stuff. My gut tells me that if we gave them the chance, it probably wouldve been low-key and tasteful). The prices are maybe a little higher than other places, but I feel the food quality backs it up. It cost us $50 per person, but keep in mind we finished our meal with an alcoholic drink. The star off is for the ketchup, with a little nudge from Brisk. Vegetarian options: You can substitute their patty for an impossible burger patty, which in my experience is always good.
Cozy pub in a charming old building with a good selection of craft beers and great service Vegetarian options: Cajun fries and vegan crab cakes Parking: Free street parking on Sundays on adjacent streets
This is my husbands absolute favourite place! He loves the vibes, staff, and overall experience! Would highly recommend!
Great place for a trendy night out!
Marissa makes the best amaretto sours in the biz
I have been going to The Ship for years now. I love their theme, events, and food menu. Great spot to hangout with groups of friends. The second floor is great and the patio is nice. I do think their beer lineup can use some work. Lately, the craft beer menu has been lacking some inspiration. The beer glasses could be bigger too.
Great place to eat: Very good customer service, and food quality.
could be better, service was horrible, fries weren t good and tasted bland. The burgers were decent.
Good food, good music, and good service!
Very cool burger place. Steady busy even in the afternoon. Service was great and food was delicious. First time for my wife to enjoy wine from a keg! She enjoyed her glass.
Had a family dinner there, a cozy environment.
Good selection of tasty burgers and the right playlist of tunes for an enjoyable lunch with my daughter.
Burgers were good and come with all the fixings. The fries are seasoned nicely. Was only halfly wheelchair accessible... I was able to drive in but had to walk (a short amount) but nonetheless, if youre unable to walk at all, I would not recommend. However I would recommend the food!
Bruh the food I
This place used to be much better.
I am an advid traveler. I have eaten all across Canada from Newfoundland to British Columbia. I have been throgh USA, Europe, and the UK. The duck wings with the lemon to die for but the burger I am not joking the waiter whos name was Will recommended the big pickle and I am telling you it is the best burger I have come across in years. Literally I will be coming back every time I hit Hamilton. 5/5 for service. 5/5 for food. 5/5 for everything. This place is a must. The fries were cooked to perfection which is an added bonus.
Mediocre food. Mediocre service. Dark and gloomy atmosphere. Just meh!
Cool place, good herb fries!
Google reviews were spot on! Our server Finns drink and food suggestions were awesome.
wow cool place
A friend has been recommending The Ship for some time now. I finally decided to give them a try. I had the catfish n chips(2 piece). I enjoyed it. The fish batter was well seasoned(which you dont see often), flakey with a decent bite. Only thing Id like is if the fries and fish had a bit more of a bite to them. It came with a generous amount of in house made tartar sauce and coleslaw. Price wise Id like the 1 piece to be $15 and the 2 piece to be 18(trying to keep it sub 20). Not bad on their current price of 18-21+ tax. Ive heard very good things about their burgers and next time Ill probably get that. I would highly recommend you at least give them a try.
Im a bit surprised at the high rating this place has. So much so that Im starting to question Google reviews.... Its alright. Not quite sure what all the fuss is about? I even went twice to make sure I didnt just get a one off. It was better the 2nd time around...well the french fries were delicious unlike my first visit where they looked and tasted like they haD been rotting in a dumpster in the sun for a couple of days. Additionally, I had ordered a burger on a gluten-free bun. The server then offered me the vegan burger or chicken breast in lieu of a burger. Pause. Is my server having a stroke? Nope. They put bread crumbs in their burger patties. GUYS! Not even McDonalds does that lol
Good atmosphere. Duck wings taste good!
The Big Pickle Burger was amazing Dietary restrictions: Vegan and vegetarian options Food : 5/5 |
Great experience highly recommend
Great service!
The burger was pretty dry and the meat tasted old. The paper that the burger was served on dissolved into the food wich resulted in a fiber intense meal. Server was pretty caught up in his own business he brought the bill before we asked for it and didnt even get the payment device after we finished paying.
The Ship is a Hamilton Classic. Consistently amazing food, service, vibe, everything. Kelsey & Jacob are excellent and gracious. I always take my friends from out of town to The Ship! Get on the Ark!!
Amazing, different burgers cooked properly with great spices. Great service from Jack on a Friday afternoon, was greatly appreciated.
Great experience! Wonderful Food, excellent service and outstanding back patio!
Our server was excellent. Food was great. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a great experience.
We had lunch at the Shop today and I wont be going back. First impressions were that it was dirty. Dead bugs on the window sills and dirty bathrooms. Actually the bathroom was so dark I couldnt see the floor so I may be exaggerating - still not acceptable. The burger was dry and the meat had an odd vinegar taste. The only upside was the beer selection was great.
I really was expecting a wow burger but it was just average and the bun was stale. Service was excellent
Really cool spot with an awesome outdoor patio. Tried a bunch of their appetizers, and had some pints of a beer that I can t remember the name, but loved! It was citrusy and wheat based. Good spot!
Loved the New England clan chowder. Burgers are hot and juicy. Fries are the best in the area. Jack is the best server! Well be back!
The meat was over fried like leftover food, maybe it was, and it was super tiny. 60% batter and 40% meat. The worse fried chicken I have ever tried.
Had the Mushroom Burger, the patty was way overcooked, hard and tasteless.
The best local bar you could ask for. Amazing service and a lovely crew no matter who you are dealing with. Jack remembers everyone even with the smallest of interaction. As does everyone who works there. Parking: A large paid lot nearby from due to the GO station with lots of space. Plus street parking along all of Augusta.
Great atmosphere, amazing service from Jack. Burger was delicious, so was the chicken club. Caesar was fantastic, and so was the beer selection. 10 out of 10. Will definitely be coming back!
Waiters took quite some time for 2 drinks a bit on the more pricey side for drinks
As a bar and a place to hang you are choosing a warm and comfortable spot but if you are planning to grab something to eat, think twice. Unfortunately the highly recommended ship burger is an overcooked dry and low seasoned beef, infused with high-level of salt in every aspect of it, whether it fits the fries or a slice with f cheese on the burger itself. Please pleasure your pallets and try perfection. The sheep is far from perfection.
Solid spot for a pint and a bite. Patios are great, staff are solid.
Best burgers in town!! Great selection of craft beer with a knowledgeable staff for great recommendations. A++
The cocktails and beers were nice. Unfortunately, the food didnt live up to the reviews. 20-30$ a plate... people shouldnt be leaving hungry Food
Ordered the perch fillet with fresh cut fries. The perch pieces were incredibly tiny, I had saw previous pictures online and my portions of fish did not match what was posted. The fresh cut fries were great and the service was quite slow but they seemed short staffed for the amount of volume of customers. The waiter was very friendly.
Omg, your duck wings were so delicious!! The fish tacos were also very good
Terrific place. Great staff.
I got the big pickle
Great little spot, intimate environment, great staff, lots of local craft beers on a rotating schedule. Food was incredible! Good value for your money.
Loved the experience and especially the service The burgers ordered were cooked beyond well done rendering it dry, Condiments compensated I would recommend the place Food : 4/5
Decent food, interesting location
I wish I could give more stars for the service. The staff were wonderful and kind to me, much needed on my long travel day. Peach sangria was so excellent that I consumed it way too fast. The chicken sandwich was superb and huge. Thank you for the great experience.
Food and drinks were delicious. Service was below average because there was only one server for a busy patio night. With patios at the front and back (back more popular), it was easy to forget about us at the front. Would go back for the burgers and fries!
The burgers are massive, it was so good
Definitely, wouldnt recommend it to anyone. At all, ever. Things like this, is what is wrong with everyone, today. People think, Well, maybe if we steal something (like the name of something) and use it in a different yet publicly, mocking, kicking a dead corps kinda way, itll be okay. No. I definitely wouldnt recommend it.
Giant specialty burgers! Large portions. Tastes great.
My girlfriend and I went there for a date night and had a great time. The food was amazing. I had the pickle brined chicken club and she had the California dreamin burger. Service was great and the atmosphere was very fun.
Good experience, enjoyed the fish tacos. Wheelchair accessibility: The outdoor patio is wheelchair accessible, but not inside or the back patio. Food : 5/5 |
All-around great afternoon eats with great service & drinks. A must check out place when in the Hammer. (Hamilton) @jeffyttaco on Instagram Food
Best late night food spot in Hamilton. Full menu available until very late. Awesome burgers!
Really good burgers!!
Always have a great experience here! Great staff, food (burgers are some of the best I ve ever had) and atmosphere.
I ordered The Mushroom Meltdown Burger, it was not what I expected, I didnt like it, plus the burger and fries were very salty. The place was quite bohemian, which I really liked. Food
Places like this always have high ratings because ( stupid people ) , their friends and family stack the deck with their own great reviews to help the garbage restaurants prosper !
Service was ok. Drinks were fine. Food wasn t good. Poppers were terrible, and I wouldn t get a burger here again.
Very comfortable setting, did not eat just drinks
Took my girlfriend and a buddy of mine to this place, had high reviews, unfortunately didnt reach the hype we had be foretold. All together we would have spent over 100-120 dollars, if I didnt have my catfish taken off my bill after me and my group smelt/tasted it. I had told one server which wasnt ours quietly come over and told her that we feel the fish had gone bad, she took it away. Then instead of handling the issue in a calm manner, our server Kayla, decided to air out that the fish doesnt smell bad and everything is dated in the back. Ive worked in kitchens for over 10 years now, I can safely spot out spoiled fish, and that was spoiled fish. If my friend who is eating beside me can smell it in the air and we are out in the back patio, its safe to say its most likely not good. This isnt my first experience eating catfish either, which is what she tried to sell me on after asking me if i wanted it off my bill because i didnt enjoy it. Her attitude wasnt off putting both after the subject was brought up and upon leaving the establishment. The other server was more receptive, pleasant, and understanding to deal with. My friend only ate one piece of his chicken fried chicken, which by the way, is only 2 small pieces (even though it says a pound). Overall atmosphere is great, but seasoning is a miss or too much (Like the burger being excessively salty).
Server at Collective Arts recommended this restaurant. It was excellent! Perch & chips were a treat rarely seen on menus. Fried chicken was a huge serving. Lots of craft brews on tap. Nice patio, stellar service. Note: A bit of a sketchy area, we saw someone trying car doors in nearby parking lot and scared him off. Shirtless, on bike, wearing a maske.
Worst burger I ve had in years. The texture was gnarly. Gritty, tough and just disgusting. Somehow the flavor was even worse. As for service After the server took my order they disappeared. I had to ask someone who wasn t my server for a check. Definitely will never come back here.
Amazing food 10/10
Really good food and atmosphere
Never disappoints. Beautiful patio
Real Cool place with friendly and efficient staff. Enjoyed their spicy, suicidal chicken wings.
First visit on Friday. Here for lunch with a colleague so didnt take any photos. Started with the Duck wings with the Korean BBQ glaze. Highly recommend. Then had the Mexican Fish Tacos. Flavour is good and it is the biggest pieces of fish Ive ever seen in a fish taco! If youre someone like me who tends to have small portions at lunch the tacos by themselves would have been plenty. Lots of unique beers on tap. I had a half of Dont Fight the Octopus and it was a very nicely balanced IPA.
The Ship is our favourite burger place in Hamilton. The delightfully eclectic atmosphere, combined with a well planned balance of craft beer and cider options are just the start of the journey... and of course the burgers... a vast array of well thought out combinations and flavours... pairing craft beverages with the burger combos is fun and enjoyable. Add friendly and helpful staff to this concoction and you have a wonderful adventure all packed into a quirky and stimulating evening.... highly recommend a visit if you havent already been there... and if the weather is behaving, try out the back patio...
Will. Absolutely phenomenal service bro. Thanks for the great time and recommendations. Food is insane and will, is amazing.
I travelled all the way to Hamilton just to visit this restaurant. I saw rhis restaurant on the television show You gotta eat this and I must say it was an amazing suggestion. I had their Cat Fish PoBoy sandwich with fries. It was just yummy. Their fries were really tasty because they had some other sort of salt, not the normal salt which gave it an amazing taste. Please go there.
Delicious burgers!
Its a pretty good place, the ship fits the atmosphere nicely, including how small the place is lol. I have been there twice and both times the food was amazing and the drinks were pretty good. Service is friendly and nice, only giving 4(if I could it would be a 4.7) because there isnt much seating and they dont take reservations so if you want to bring a big group you either need to be lucky and have the larger tables open or your group will be split between tables. Its a small thing but would be really inconvenient if it comes up.
This place stands the test of time as the best burger in the city. Always a great meal and supplemented with a rotating tap of local beers. The only bad thing about the ship is everyone knows it s great, and it can often be hard to get a table.
The place is antique and peaceful. Staff was polite, friendly, and prompt. The experience was pretty unique to me. Unfortunately, their burgers are chewy too salty. So are the fries. It doesnt work for me. I will not come back.
My fiance and I were so glad that we gave this restaurant a try. We LOVED IT! Best perch and catfish weve ever had. Small restaurant and almost did not give it a try but we know not to ever judge a book by its cover. When you come to Hamilton, try, The Ship, you wont regret.
Burger was good, but the fries were sub par. Fries were on the thin side, not evenly cooked, and mostly crunchy like potato chips. The entire meal could jump from a 6.5 to 9 if the fries were improved. A slightly thicker cut, and not so burnt, and youd have a winning combination. Vegetarian options: Black bean burger patty is a great option.
French Onion burger
Great spot. Will be back to enjoy the front and back patio.
The server was lovely and attentive. Food delicious.
I just tried to call for take out after looking for a restaurant to choose from for the past hour. I called to order take out as I have a dairy intolerance and didn t want to order online and risk it. The person on the phone told me I can t order take out now and said they are too busy. Why have an option online for us to order take out and say no on the phone? Also the lack of care from the person on the phone just shows how great their customer service is. Totally lost us as a customer and will never recommend.
I need to go back to have a burger when Im not trying to diet. They looked amazing! My Pear & Blue Cheese Salad was delicious! Food
This establishment is more than expected!!! Salacious food, burgers are beyond this world!!! Will and Kayla are so personable and beautiful. Creative and knowledgeable about cocktails!!
The Ship in Hamilton is a fantastic spot for a night out. I was immediately impressed by the warm ambiance - it felt inviting and stylish at the same time. The staff were the icing on the cake - super friendly and attentive. But lets get to the good stuff: the food! My meal was delicious, and I hear similar things from others who have been. A special shoutout goes to the nachos - they were a true crowd-pleaser.
Honestly one the best burgers I have had for a long time! Everything was fresh and juicy! Can t go wrong! Drove 3 hours to come try! Definitely worth what I was told! Definitely will be coming back! Amazing service as well!
Came here from Guelph. Really good fish and chips
Food was excellent! Good portions, quality and fair prices! Definitely will be back Food
Incredible perch. Just love it.
The owner was very personable and joined us for the solar eclipse with other restaurant goers. It was a unique and special experience. The food was also excellent! I will definitely be back and recommend The Ship to all visiting Hamilton!
What a great gem in the middle of the city! Great place to get away and have a nice bite to eat with a refreshing local brew pilsner. Great people working there too, friendly staff is the key for making me come back!
Buy far the best patties Ive tasted! And they dress it up so many different ways that its hard to choose from. Also had their spicy fries, which were A-MA-ZING
Great food, took a long time to get though. Wheelchair accessibility: Not very accessable. Its in an old house with a lot of stairs. Food : 5/5 |
Delicious, great staff, great music, awesome menu! Spiced beer and spicy catfish po boy, can t go wrong!
Great food and service, burgers are amazing. Will certainly be back.
Always the go to place for a nice burger and beer. Burgers are 4.5/5 they gotta ask you how you like them cooked next time. They were a bit over cooked and we definitely enjoy them both more on the rare side! Still enjoyed them nonetheless! Its a good time at The Ship. A Hamilton staple.
Awesome time last night! The service was great!! Thanks to our server Will & bartender Jack. We really liked the music & atmosphere. Food & drinks were awesome especially the jalapeno poppers - my husband loved them! Well definitely be back when we are in Hamilton next.
The place is small but its very cozy and the service was great. I ordered grilled chicken and it was way better than the average.
Always a great selection of craft beers. Had the French onion burger and it was terrific. Fresh cut fries. And only 12 bucks. Dare I say the best burger you can get for that price in the city.
Always good food and great service.
The food was truly amazing! The service was kind of off because I think the server was passing judgment on us with bringing kids & 1 stroller. We made it work, and we did not disrupt anyone. As we stayed, she got nicer because she saw we were nice people. We all got different items off the menu, and everyone enjoyed their meals thoroughly. The food was amazing , the service was meh
Although we were a little uncertain if the place was open from the appearance of the front of the property, this place is awesome. This Ship has such a cost vibe and the staff were very accommodating as we had a bunch of luggage, which he tucked away in a corner for us. A great selection of top quality burgers, we got the Hot Shot and Bud the Spud, plus a couple lemonades. Totally worth coming for a visit, even if youre just passing through!
Burgers was so salty

So of a Saturday night at 11pm I called ahead and asked if they were still serving food. I was told yes kitchen is open see you soon. When I arrived we were told first sorry only bar service, then that there was nowhere to sit. So we left.
The best bar ever. Not a TV in sight which I love! This place is made for a pint and a good conversation with friends. Good is pretty good too!
This place doesnt change much but thats how we like it ... small and cozy its got that Ship feel to it... best burgers in the city but we decided to try something different and we were not disappointed ... my wife had the perch and loved it .. I had the perch BLT and it was delicious... the only issue was the bread ... it was very thin white bread ... an upgrade on the bread would have made a huge difference ... that said it was surrounded by a copious serving of fries and the whole meal could not be finished ... great service throughout the meal ... sufficed to say we were very satisfied... thanks staff
Literally the best poutine I ve ever had im still thinking about it and really good cocktails with a good amount of liquor, me and my boyfriend really enjoyed the atmosphere and how talkative the people were!
Great atmosphere, great drinks, great service!
Will definitely be going back! Its hard to recommend pubs/restaurants like this to certain people. Its a classic hammer pub with a bit of Saturday night grime in the bones (sometimes a good thing). Beer selection is always top quality. Food is almost always a 5 star! Pub food and burgers are why you eat here. Seafood tryouts are pending... The tables were tight. A little too close for comfort sometimes, but just hope for a good one. The servers are your classic there but not annoying kind of servers. Eating and drinking here will not disappoint. Its a hamilton gem.
Great pub in a row of other great pubs. The burgers here are fantastic and there is always a changing beer list
OMG! Please try the Catfish it s unreal
I went there for the first time, staff was very friendly, food and drinks were amazing, will definitely visit again.
My experience at The Ship was nothing short of delightful, making it a standout choice for a memorable dinner. The exceptional service and overall vibe of the place created an inviting atmosphere, perfect for both small groups and intimate date nights. The menu, notably featuring a variety of burgers, was a highlight of the evening. Each burger was a testament to culinary craftsmanship, offering a burst of flavors that left a lasting impression. The availability of several signature burgers showcased the restaurants commitment to providing a diverse and satisfying dining experience. The attentive service from the staff contributed significantly to the positive ambiance. From the moment we stepped in until the end of our meal, the staff exhibited a genuine dedication to customer satisfaction. Their friendly demeanor and promptness added an extra layer of enjoyment to the dining experience, creating a welcoming environment for patrons. The versatility of The Ship was evident in its suitability for various occasions. Whether youre gathering with a small group of friends or seeking an intimate setting for a date night, the restaurants ambiance accommodated both scenarios seamlessly. The well-thought-out layout and decor enhanced the overall dining experience, creating a comfortable and stylish backdrop for the evening. In summary, The Ship proved to be a great choice for a dinner outing. Exceptional service, a welcoming ambiance, and a diverse menu with standout burgers make it a destination worth revisiting. Whether youre looking for a casual meal with friends or a romantic evening, The Ship has successfully carved out a niche as a go-to spot for a satisfying and enjoyable dining experience.
went and had burgers and drinks. burgers are good would of have it 5 star but pacman wasnt working Food
Good local spot for good food in a cozy environment. Staff is super nice as well.
Big fat delicious juicy tender drenched in sauce burgers!
I got the Hot Shot burger. Nothing short of spectacular. Perfectly done, flavourful. Will be making a return!
Great patio out back, delicious food, attentive service.
Loveeeeee the food here! Big burger guy and this spot has one of the best burgers in town! I definitely recommend
Best on Augusta. Try the shipcuterie
Delicious food. Always great service. Sat outside for the first time and it was lovely. Enjoyed a burger and Caesar salad , and the daily specials fish sandwich. Nice selection of craft beers as well
Probably the best burgers in Hamilton and we had an amazing server who gave great recommendations on beer and burgers! Will definitely be going again
Great food, on tap drinks are either great (hit) or a miss. On tap changes daily and seasonally. The issue is that there are no samples, so you dont know if itll be good before committing.
I recently visited this spot in Hamilton, known for having top-notch burgers. Every time Ive been there, the staff have been incredibly friendly and the service has been excellent. I tried their most tasty burger, and it was absolutely delicious. The only minor issue I had was that the fries were a tad too salty for my taste, but overall, the meal was fantastic. If youre in the mood for a fantastic burger, I highly recommend giving this place a try.
One of the best burger joints in the city - fries are wonderfully seasoned and very delicious. Burger selection is fantastic; mine was good but a little dry, while my partner s burger was juicy and quite good. Will certainly be back to try out some of the other burgers, especially the seasonal specialties! Price was also fair and worth every penny.
Good burgers
I wanted to love this place soooo badly because we ve tried to eat here on 2 different occasions and both times it was closed. We finally made it here on a Friday for lunch and both ordered the super fabled burgers we heard so much about. So the service and the drinks were great - 5 stars all around. But man on man was my burger dry. The edges were completely burnt and dry as a chalk. The fries really were the star of the show and saved our lunch. My husband s burger was also dry dry dry. A little bummed but maybe it was an off day. Since the service was so friendly and the fries so good we d definitely come back and give it another go.
Best customer service on Augusta. Great food, good vibes. 10/10 recommend.
The service was very good but . For the food , the burger was over cooked , but the blonde beer was very good.
Unique and delicious experience! Great food and beer.
Good food, excellent beer selection. Only downside is no dessert menu.
Used to be awesome food, and one of the best places in GTA. I would say to my friends and colleagues -If youre after the burgers, go for Sweet Cheesus. Eh, good old days. Last visit we tried different burgers, the idea of food wasnt that bad, but it was tastless. I hope you will fix the menu.
Lots of great food options and great drinks!
Pictured here are the The French Onion burger with Cajun fries and the Duck Wings with honey lime sriracha - damn delicious! The burger was hella tasty and just loaded with toppings. They didn t skimp on the cajun seasoning on the fries at all. My only complaint would be to leave more of the meat on the duck wings, they re so yummy. Oh, and their homemade ketchup is amazing! We sat out in the front patio, which they could definitely add a few more tables at. Service was SO kind and attentive. Definitely need to come back and try their other burgers.
Very small with limited tables, but 2 floors. Washrooms small but clean. Craft beer only. Just street parking, not free. Service excellent.
I love this place and I dont live near Hamilton. The Cajun catfish is worth returning for. Its a standard pub atmosphere with some craft beers. Love it. The only knock is the bathroom. Not great. Service is always great. Good people. Great pub. Will return
Absolutely love this bar. Staff is friendly, beer is delicious, and the food is really good. I will be back next time Im in town. Food
Best fish and chips in GTA! Flavourful, crispy and well seasoned !! Coconut shrimp and jalapeño poppers were so delicious Must visit restaurant in Hamilton serving 5-star dishes and with impeccable service with a smile!
Best burgers in town. Amazing burgers.
One of the best restaurants, in my opinion. I liked everything.
Great food, great service, great music! Definitely will go back!
Great spot for lunch, dinner or drinks. Cozy pub style venue suitable for all ages.
The Ship is a really cool restaurant with a great ambiance and delicious food. I ate poutin for the first time. The burgers were good and the perch was delicious. I loved the service and overall had a great visit. I highly recommend it.
Everything is best , try yourself and check
I started coming here when they first opened. It was my hang out back when they had foosball tables upstairs! We would play for hours. Its been a long while since I had been in. My friend had the duck wings as an appetizer and it was very nicely cooked and lightly seasoned. Not saucy as I thought they might be but quite meaty. They still have my favourite menu item the catfish po boy, I think its bigger now and certainly more expensive. The quality and quantity is worth it though, especially when compared to other spots in town. The breading is light and not too greasy which is a big plus for me. They put it on a long bun and top with tomato, slaw, etc. The basics. The pickle they theyve added to the top of the skewer was incredible, I meant to ask what kind they use or if they pickle them there. Tangy, crisp, and dilly, it went so well with the fish sandwich. My friend had the Hawaiian burger and it looked huge. Ive never seen such a big burger disappear so quickly lol. We both had basic french fries were also delicious, nice and crispy and plentiful. I couldnt finish it all! Took them home. Swapping them out for garden/Caesar salad, sweet potato fries, or herbed fries are an extra $4. My old go to was the sweet potato fries, they came with an amazing spicy mayo dip. I wonder if they still have it! Next time. They have lots of beer on tap right now and Willibalds Purple Seltzer for those who cant have barley like me. Next time I want to try the strawberry chipotle jalapeno poppers, that sounds amazing! I was also happy to see they have a vegan crab cakes option now too! I often enjoy and appreciate their more creative menu options. They have a good patio for the warmer weather, and the washrooms and more seating are up steep stairs, not wheelchair accessible. Cam who works there is great, our server was fine but it took a while for them to check in on us after finishing to get our bill. I think they got tied up at the bar chatting. When I have the money I go back to treat myself. Be warned though, they are usually very busy! I went on a Sunday around 9:30pm. When we got there there was a couple other tables, and it got busier after a football game ended. Parking is kinda tricky around there but there is a small lot around the corner and some paid street spots around the corner.
Good vibes. Good food!
Tried here for the first time and it was absolutely amazing great atmosphere. Staff was super friendly. We were told a 20min wait for take out. Was ready within the 20min. Next time we will dine in. I have a hard time finding anywhere I can find something that doesnt need to be modified in some way. The mushroom burger was the best I have ever had
