Came here last night with my dad and we had a great time! Menu has great options, tacos were delicious, and the margarita was perfectly made Also service was 10/10 everyone was super nice and quick.

The Mule is a wonderful Mexican restaurant with a modern flair. They have a great assortment of apps and tacos, with exceptional guacamole and chips. I m always impressed by the service, which is both attentive and knowledgeable. My favourite is the pork belly taco, which is a favourable mix of hot, sweet and tangy. I m not a tequila drinker, but they do have a great selection of craft beer. Note that the restaurant gets very busy on weekends, so I suggest getting a reservation. A very special thank you to staff member Keltie for the outstanding 10/10 service . Highly knowledgeable, friendly and attentive. The feature cocktail (some sort of holiday sangria) was so good I wish I could have taken it home with me. Keep up the great work!

Fantastic place. A very chill spot to grab a few drinks or a bite to eat. The restaurant had a great vibe and the staff were all extremely friendly. We enjoyed our drinks at the bar while taking it all the aqesome decore. Will be back again to try some food.

What a great little spot! Tacos were delicious, margaritas were tasty and service was great. Hannah was our server and she knocked it out of the park. Everything from timely orders to allergies. We had the blackened fish, cali chicken, bussel sprout and al pastor tacos, and let me tell you mouthwatering!

I have always had great meals at The Mule. Today, our server Meaghan went above and beyond to provide an exemplary customer service experience. She was very extremely thorough with helping us navigate my friends shellfish allergy on what to eat safely on the menu, checking in with the kitchen multiple times. Her warm and friendly demeanor cemented our experience. All of our food and drinks were on point. Thank you for providing me with a birthday surprise dessert! I would return just because of the level of service.

This place is amazing! Perfect playlist, welcoming atmosphere and the food is out of this world. We will be traveling from Buffalo to eat here again! Most importantly, everything is gluten free on the menu! It was so nice to finally be able to order dessert with our meal!

Hip gluten-free Mexican fusion restaurant and traditional bar. Have eaten here almost a dozen times. Flavourful and clean Mexican food dishes and hard liquor menu, especially tequila. Friendly and helpful staff. My favourite dishes are the calamari and chicken tacos - also vegetarian, beef and fish options depending your preference. Washrooms are down stairs. We came into Mule and sat at a bartop table. We ve been before and always loved the food. Will was funny, and polite and provided great service. The menu has great vegetarian options btw. Bartop table was too small though.

Quality of ingredients are lacking. Had the 4 taco combo and 3/4 had meat, all of which I could barely chew. The 4th taco was the oyster mushroom which was way too salty as well. Had better tacos at a fast food joint.

Not a fan. The tacos are pricey while tasting mediocre at best. The server for our table checked on us only once when there was one other table to serve in the store. They gave themselves an 18% mandatory gratuity, which is no longer indicated on their menu because they are trying to hid it.

The best tacos I ve ever had! Really good margaritas as well. I had to get the Seinfeld inspired Costanza Margarita. Really great atmosphere outdoors. One pedestrian did pass by swearing to himself, but that s just Hamilton.

First time visiting and we had a great experience. The tacos were amazing, especially the Carne Salda, and the Passion Fruit Crudo was delicious. The staff was friendly, and the ambiance was lovely. The graffiti in the restroom was truly creative. Perfect place to hang out.

Everything is perfect, the staff is really nice the atmosphere is good too, i work there as a security guard they are such a nice people i have ever worked with, and food is awesome especially there tacos are love .

The best way for me to describe this place is, good . The atmosphere and the layout is good. The tacos are not the best but good, albeit small. Typically it takes 2 tacos for me to be full but here it took 4, still tasty though.

Great vegetarian tacos! The brussel sprouts are the best. Vegetarian options: The vegetarian tacos are excellent. Dietary restrictions: My husband has sunflower seed allergies and they took note of it. Kid-friendliness: My kids thoroughly enjoyed finding all the ducks around the restaurant.

Good food but small portions

The service was wonderful, but I was a bit let down by the coconut ceviche. The presentation wasn t quite what I expected, and the flavor seemed more like mayo than anything else. I actually couldn t finish it, which is unusual for me when dining out. It might be worth changing the recipe or considering a different approach. I felt disappointed spending nearly $20 on it and leaving it behind.

Awesome low key atmospheric vibe with tacos!! My friend and I had the non alcoholic drink special and it went well with the tacos! I had the carne assada and the Santiago chicken both of which were amazing . To finish we had the chocolate dessert with the lecce and that was Devine Parking: Need to park at the lot down the street and walk back but it s only a ten min walk so it s worth it!

Delicious tacos and calamari. Great service and atmosphere!! We had seen a spot on CHCH tv this morning and mentioned it to the server. We will definitely come back for more.

Great tasting tacos with a large variety of flavour styles to select from. We tried the calamari and it too was delicious, artistically plated and a fair size portion. The tacos are 4. I had 2 with an appetizer that l shared and l was pleasantly full, not stuffed. If you are into cider give the apple cherry a spin, it was really nice. Our server was prompt and attentive. We will be back.

Came for lunch on July 23, 2024 with friends. Were given menus and we choose the guacamole app and the calamari as well. We were not told that when you order the tacos you have to tell them how many you want so we only recieved 1 each. It may have been in the menu but we didnt notice it. The waitress could have been abit more helpful by asking us how many we wanted. However, the waitress didnt have the wine we wanted so she gave a different wine and a discount on it because it was not as good a wine. That was really nice. Later I used the rest room and was completely disgusted how dirty it was. And the ugly graffiti on all the walls made it worse. I came upstairs and told a young lady that the bathroom was disgusting. And she said oh let me look. She went downstairs and never came to our table to apologize or anything. The management is quite happy to take your money but doesnt respect their customers enough to provide clean washrooms for them. And this place is really busy most of the time so they should have the budget to keep the bathrooms clean. There is no excuse the for it, none! Therefore when a restaurant treats me like that I dont return and a bad review is written.

A very good place to have tacos! The presentation of individual tacos is excellent. Good variety. The fish tacos were delicious. The Cease and Deceased was excellent too. The place is a bit noisy but it creates a fun atmosphere. A very good experience overall!

Update. The Mule never disappoints. My wife and I have eaten there many times now. This was the second time for brunch. Words cannot describe just how incredible the food is. Brunch is amazing. This visit was special, we had a nice chat with the manager and the most incredible server Madison. Thank you both for making our visit extra special. Wow, what an incredible restaurant!!! The staff and the food are incredible. Being Gluten Free and Nut Free make it the perfect restaurant for my wife and me. With so many excellent choices you can visit multiple times without eating the same items. We will definitely be customers for life and look forward to many more visits! I recently visited a charming spot that impressed me. The oyster mushroom taco was an absolute highlight bursting with flavor and perfectly seasoned. Complementing the meal was the Matcha Matcha Man drink, which was incredibly refreshing and well-balanced. The ambiance of the place was delightful, with a good vibe and appealing decor that made for a pleasant dining experience. The staff were friendly and attentive, adding to the overall positive atmosphere. However, the yucca frita didn t quite hit the mark it was a bit underwhelming compared to the other dishes. Despite this minor hiccup, the overall experience was enjoyable.

First time here, and was very disappointed. Difficultly finding parking. It was complete chaos on the streets. Restaurant was crowded and very, very loud! Service was okay. She mixed up our drinks, no dessert menu could be found and she took way too long to get our bill. Seating areas are quite crammed. We had to share a high top table with another party of 6. No privacy at all! I felt uncomfortable sitting beside a stranger!! And don t even get me started on the food! Three tiny tacos arrived for $21! Small portions are nice but you clearly don t go to The Mule when you re hungry for dinner ( you ll leave the restaurant starving). Well actually no, if money is no object then you can totally dine here! lol My friend ordered a small App, 3 tacos and 2 drinks and it was $70 (before the tip!) The taste of the tacos were fine, but nothing spectacular. And sadly they were cold. Pass on this place and save your money!

The Mule is our go-to spot for tacos in Hamilton. Consistently yummy, especially the brussel sprout veggie taco. Cool atmosphere, good service and nice staff. My only critique is that most (if not all) the taco options are fried (still delicious though!)

Great food! I know it refreshing to change the menu but they keep getting rid of the best items-2 examples are the foldies and the shrimp ceviche. They replaced the ceviche with a small fish one that doesn t compare with their original one at all! And they got rid of Mexican beer- no corona no sol to go with your tacos.

Staying true to my habit of only reviewing places that deserve 15 stars, The Mule earns every one. Taco and tequila bars are a dime a dozen but so very few put in the time and effort to make an atmosphere as dope as The Mule. I have actually been to multiple of their locations across Ontario and I have found them to be consistently excellent, friendly, and fast. This is a go-to for any business lunches for me and a stellar night out at that. Their craft taps are always good, their whisky, mezcal, and tequila lists are dope, and the food will make you reconsider your life choices and potentially cause you to end friendships over what they had told you were good tacos, but you will now see as cruel deceptions. Mere dreams of what are truly the best approximations of perfection as per Plato s theory of forms. If the perfect taco does exist or can be created, it will be found at The Mule.

Violent environment. While touring Hamilton for the first time , within 2 minutes we were assaulted (multiple cameramen multiple times) by multiple people from this place. Things were also thrown at us from the patio. Not to mention the friendly middle fingers (which is a freedom of expression) but assault is not ok. For filming from ACROSS THE STREET on a public sidewalk. Instigated by staff here. Avoid or bring and helmet and enjoy. Your call.

I ordered take-out for my daughter who is at camp up north. The Mule was extremely accommodating with my order and pick up time. The experience was overwhelmingly positive and the staff was incredibly kind. It was an example of how acts of kindness and generosity can impact a persons day. Thank you for everything

All locations-Such an awesome place and a paradise for someone with cealics!!! Wheelchair accessibility: Main restaurant and rear patio crowded but fine. When they seated us they told us the main washrooms were downstairs but there was one on the main level if we needed it; we didnt, so cant comment on its accessibility/suitability. One note of caution: many of their tables are high tops, so youll have to compete for a smaller set of low ones.

I went for brunch, the brunch food was decent. I got the fried chicken & churros which is basically chicken & waffles, the waffles were made of churros. The tacos were FANTASTIC. I got the habanero brisket taco, would highly recommend getting. The staff was awesome & I loved the aesthetic.

You can mix and match tacos which is cool, but not an extensive menu. Service was lovely, but the music was super loud so its hard to converse with others.

Was excited to try this place for brunch, unfortunately was not really impressed by the food. Super bland, beef tacos were gamey, and the potatoes for our brunch were not close to crispy.

Im not from Hamilton but still heard about this place. Dont expect burritos , empanadas etc. Its all tacos but they do it well. Fresh and timely. Service was well educated and friendly. Personal favorite was the brisket . Super tender and flavour Vegetarian options: Brussel sprouts taco and Mushroom Taco available when I went. June 2024. Dietary restrictions: Taco shells are corn Masa, not Wheat. Parking: A few street spots , some free some paid. Huge paid parking nearby, $10.70. Up to 6 hours.

Outstandingly good - best patatas bravas ever, and my three tacos were perfect in size, variety and flavour. We ll be back - and glad to know there s one in Burlington too (Burro). Excellent, friendly service, great vibe and good prices.

Came here with a group of friends and was quite disappointed. We ordered the queso and guacamole to start along with the yuca bites. The chips were drenched in salt, and the queso really lacked that cheesy depth of flavour. Just tasted like salt and cheese melted. The guacamole didnt really stand out much to me either, seemed like there was more cilantro than guacamole in the bowl. Tacos were decent, but nothing that stood out. Atmosphere and service was good otherwise.

This was one of the best experiences I have had at a restaurant in forever! The staff were absolutely amazing, my margarita was incredible and the food was delicious. If I lived in Hamilton I would make this place my regular spot. Can t wait to come back! Whats going on with The Mule? Have they changed management? And whats up with the excessively loud music? The DJs song selection was great, but the sound levels were way too high for such a small place; we ended up leaving with headaches! Bars and pubs should be places for enjoying drinks and conversations. I dont like not being able to hear someone directly next to me screaming straight in my ear.

This venue never had tables available. Try another restaurant. You seriously need to book 3 weeks or more in advance. Dont bother.

Wasnt for me. Everything I ordered seemed to be overwhelmed with cilantro. Its all I could taste. However it was suitable for my wife who is gluten-free. One of the staff had such a strong body odor it wafted in the air long after she left close proximity. Friendly staff. Fashionably priced for a trendy crowd. I should try the other locations as this one was not for me. To each his own.

Amazing burgers.

Wait staff was friendly, attentive and efficient. It was very noisy inside so they recommended the cozy back patio which was very nice, they even turned the music to a quieter level so we could have conversation without yelling. The braised beef which simmered all day made an excellent taco. And that Mango cheesecake at the end... yummy!

It is a great place to hang out and have a few drinks. The cocktails are really good. But the food was lacking flavour, and it s a little expensive for what you get. I will give it a second chance because the service and atmosphere was good.

Best taco in Hamilton. The only complaint I would say is they could scrub the metal taco holders that are caked with grease. But other than that my wife and I come here all the time

Best margaritas ever!

This was my go to spot for some delicious tacos. After having lunch here today, I won t be returning again. I ordered three tacos and my hunger ignored the foul smell that came with it. I wish I had never eaten them. I now feel incredibly ill which leads me to think it was salmonella or food poisoning (keep in mind I had nothing afterwards to eat since this lunch and a smoothie for breakfast). A former staff member stated the food sits out overnight sometimes . Will not be returning again.

Went for lunch- Music rude & loud, Tacos are exceptionally small for $7 each each. Staff was ok friendly enough but not exceptional. Perhaps dinner is a better experience. I can believe the prices for such limited quantity. margaritas were delicious at $15 each.

Katie, Matt, and Megan provided the best service tonight! Made our night. Matt with his excellent bartending skills- we had Ay caramba - fantastic!! As soon as we stepped in we were welcomed and the customer service throughout our experience was truly spectacular. The drinks sre superb as is the food. We had a delicious featured pizza and a few yummy tacos! A must see and experience! Book your reservations asap!!!!

Much different experience than my previous review. My initial review rated this place 5 stars. This time round was just awful. It was extremely loud and noisy. The food was overcooked and so so salty. Not fresh at all. I had the fried chicken and fried oyster mushrooms tacos and both tasted of fried fish. Obviously they dont change the oil often and cook everything in the same fryer. Drinks were strong but one dimensional with very little layering of flavours. I wont be returning. Fun and funky tacos and drinks. Friendly service and great atmosphere. Brussel sprouts taco surprisingly good. Will return.

So food tastes good, great service but can t help but feeling ripped off leaving there. Absurdly overpriced.

We did a reservation using OneTable which was very user friendly and even sent a message to my phone to confirm 10minutes prior to reservation which was nice, just to let them know Im on the way. But my waitress.... she was amazing. She noticed me picking off the chillies so the next taco she didnt have them put on. And when I said we wanted to stay a little later she accommodated us by moving us to a free table which was super nice. We didnt feel rushed, the food was so good and the staff were friendly and attentive. 100% will go back!

The best place to get tacos! I love that their entire food menu is gluten-free. The service is also excellent. The tall seat chairs are extremely uncomfortable. So much so that half of us chose to stand instead. The music is way too loud. If you are able to sit at a short table, your seat will be more comfortable . If you are booking for a large party you will be stuck sitting at the tall table and the very uncomfortable chairs. They should really consider finding better seats.

Good tacos

I came here with the guys to grab some lunch. I had the pleasure of meeting one of the most rudest managers I have ever come across it was absolutely disgusting watching her. Serve me my food and drinks with napkins taped to her hand instead of Band-Aids we each had one drink, and when we asked for the second round she denied us service for whatever reason then as we were leaving she decided to say some stupid remark i hope the owner reads this because he needs know how his staff is treating his paying customers

Rating this via Uber eats. Queso - 10/10 C and D 10/10 Honey garlic chicken - 5/10 Chich - 2/10 Food was packaged smartly and came quick. Overall good experience. I definitely will go and dine in for the c and d tacos!!! As for price it was higher than necessary but not so bad I felt disrespected.

Heard a lot of great things about The Mule and I would say it delivered. Food and drinks were good, great playlist and movies playing behind the bar. Some of the taco s tortillas could have been warmer but everything still tasted amazing. Will be coming back for sure. Great place for a date or late meal, great service friendly staff.

Great food with excellent service at reasonable prices. The menu had simple list of tacos and appetizers dishes. The tacos were delicious and appetizers were good almost main dish portions. Dishes were flavourful and service was attentive and friendly. They had in particular multiple kinds of El Yucateco hot sauces. Would recommend stopping by!

First time trying this place. It was okay. Calamari was amazing but the tacos were just okay. Pork belly was very dry though. Service was a little slow but it did start to get busy.

We went here yesterday afternoon upon reading several restaurant reviews for Hamilton. I have to say Im very happy we chose The Mule. The food, service and atmosphere were second to none. We will be back!

I ve been to the Mule many times. It s a restaurant that I have recommended to many friends and family. This particular night, I brought my mother, uncle, aunt and cousin. I was excited for them to try the tacos and experience the energy in this place. In my previous visits to the Mule, the service has always been excellent but time it was different. We came in the restaurant and noticed several of these small 2-person tables were occupied. I asked the server in the long green dress, if we could sit in the back as there were several empty tables. She responded no it s not open in a rude tone of voice and just looked away. That was the worst service I ve ever had in a restaurant or a business establishment. Then she comes to serve us with a totally different attitude, now acting overly friendly. This was weird and unacceptable. Then you expect a tip? If you are working as a server, bartender or manager in a restaurant you need to have good customer service, that s 101. You are representing the company. I ve travelled the world and have been to quite a few restaurants and having good service is not option. Learn from Dubai, their service is impeccable. There is no reason why we should put 3 mini-tables together against the wall when there are empty tables in the back and people eating. That s just ridiculous. It was embarrassing to my family. I will never come back nor recommend this place to my family or friends. Owners and management, please talk to your staff, especially the girl in the green dress that worked after 9pm on April 15th. This incompetency just ruined thousands of dollars of potential business I would have brought the Mule.

Just had dinner at The Mule in Hamilton and it was absolutely fantastic! The food and atmosphere were excellent and most of all, our main waitress Kelty was PHENOMENAL!!! Keep up the great job! Will definitely return One of our favourite spots now to dine!!!!!

Amazing food and atmosphere!

I go to this restaurant probably once a month and will continue to do so. The quality never disappoints and the ambiance it s amazing. Amazing tacos, tasty margaritas and great music!

Hamiltons gem! Tequila selection is off the charts Bartenders are A+ and Matt lead us on a custom tasting experience! Food? Mind-blowing, especially the tacos Perfect pre-concert vibe, music on point Dont miss out, its a must-visit!

Located in The Empire Times building, architectural gem in and of itself... The Mule is located just inside the stunning corner doors. A fan of good Mexican food this place is has made my transition to Hamilton happy. The interior of the space has a lot of original beams and brickwork decorated with excellent original mexican/skull themed art. The menu is broken into tacos and not tacos, as well beverages. Ive been here twice and both times the service was excellent especially the last time. We we feeling open to recommendations and the server was naing it! Each time was bang on and super cognizant of the fact that one person wasnt into cilantro and remembered that for the next round of tocas. While all the cocktails sounded delicious I absolutely love that this place has a awesome range of mocktails, adding to a growing trend that people want to have a nice fancy drink but they dont necessarily want to have alcohol. The server made an excellent mocktail recommendation and it was absolutely delicious.

Kailey was our server and wow! We are giving 5/5 stars just for her! She had amazing recommendations for drinks and food, was patient with us and cared about getting to know us as customers. All of her food recommendations were amazing, and the Ey Caramba! margarita is heavenly! I would honestly return just for the margaritas. Definitely worth the trip and worth the hype!

Forgot to take a picture of the tacos, but they were decent, definitely have had better across the gta. Nice that they re open late on weeknights, and the restaurant and bar are nice vibes. However neither of us could eat much of the brownie special, a first for both of us. Go for the drinks and maybe a taco, skip dessert.

Very accommodating for guests who have gluten, diary, and nut allergies! I definitely recommend this spot!

A place worth coming back!! Huge kudos the team for creating such a fun and welcoming atmosphere. Very creative feature cocktails and kitchen features. The staff are truly one of a kind.

The Mule is one of my favourite restaurants in Hamilton for good food, drinks and atmosphere. Theyre one of a few places open late which is always great after a late night at work. The staff are always welcoming and friendly, even at the busiest of times, although, that being said make sure you have a reservation for the weekend as its usually packed. My go-tos are the achiote chicken taco, habanero brisket taco (warning has a spice kick), the Brussel sprout taco, guacamole and chips, and calamari!
