Food was delicious and decently priced, definitely recommend the crunch wrap!

Tried calling several times prior to going to the restaurant to have my name down, no answer each time. We finally got there they took my number down and told me approx. 45 min wait. While we were waiting, one of the hostess told us we had to wait outside as it was a fire hazzard for us to be in the hallway due to tenants living upstairs, and that they would call us when they had a table ready. We waited outside. We just decided to leave and go elsewhere once we went over the 1 hr mark of waiting for a phone call. That was this past weekend, on the Saturday. I m still waiting for the phone call to tell me my table is ready, as we never told them we were leaving.

My partner and I had a great time at Amigos! Compared to some other Mexican places, the food can be slightly more expensive, but it is absolutely worth it. The portions were generous, the good was flavourful, and the service was quick and friendly. My partner and I each ordered different vegan items and tried a variety of hot sauces, as well as one of their cocktails and their house beer. Highly recommend! Vegetarian options: A range of vegan options as well as an accommodating team.

Wonderful service, dog friendly patio, yummy food and delicious drinks, in Hess Village (a cute pedestrian only street with lots of hipstery restaurants). What s not to love.

The food, environment, and service all amazing. I only had an issue with a cook in the back. The female with black/green hair had opened a tub of green sauce/salsa, she first dipped a chip in it to taste, then grabbed a spoon to taste it, then tapped the spoon on the rim of the tub after the taste test to get the excess off, back into the tub. It s not about the taste test if she s making sure it tastes right, the spoon was in her mouth, then she tapped it on the side of the tub to put the remaining bit back in. She had no hair net and kept touching her hair. I would reconsider before returning due to the possible contamination, quite unfortunate.

The food was very low quality and the Nachos are burnt. They didn t charge us for the Nachos after we mentioned it which was nice of them. But I don t recommend this place

I had dinner with a friend over the weekend and I loved it there! I had birria tacos which were so flavorful, and the sauces are made in house. I had a (few) spicey margaritas, but the hibiscus one was the best. You should have one too. You wont regret it, I promise. Our server Taylor was fun, and really good at her job. Thanks Taylor! It was probably one of the last nice days of the year and the Amigos patio has a really nice view over George street in the fall, and it was clean and comfortable. Thanks for dinner!

We called several days before a birthday party for 11 people. We were told that they didnt take reservations but if we called 20 minutes ahead of time that there wouldnt be a problem. We made the call on drove 30 minutes from out of town. When we arrive, there werent any large tables set up, so they asked we wait. Once completed they brought us down to 4, 2 seater tables pushed together with 11 chairs around them. Lol It looked ridiculous! I went back in and asked to have another 2 person table brought over and was refused. I was told by a pink haired girl that we would have to make due because she needed the table in question for other customers as they would potentially arrive. I said, we are 11 paying customers here now. We just need enough room to fit our plates on the table. Did I mention how ridiculous it looked! We would have had at least one person eating off their lap...at a restaurant...where they were expecting us. Lol After digging in her heals and refusing to give us all a space at the table, I told her that this is nuts and it will definitely effect the tip. Her response was, No it wont. With a party our size the tip is automatically added. She was quite smug. I went back to the table to explain the situation to our party. The same pink haired girl had had enough of me talking back, I guess, because she shortly joined us to tell us that we wouldnt be served at all! Because we wanted room for everyone to eat at the table! Sooo crazy. Telling a group off 11 people that she basically didnt need or want our business. Driving from out of town, we all needed to find a new place to celebrate the birthday. It was such a strange, almost comical experience. There were other patrons near us laughing at the absurdity of the table setting and the entire situation. For the inconvenience that was caused to all 11 of us, I hope that no one ever eats there ever again. Go out of business soon!

A warm atmosphere, amazing service, and incredible food.

Had a crunchwrap and Baja Blast cocktail. Both were delicious, and the service was both incredibly kind and always on top of the tables. Will be coming back in the future!

I am such a big fan of Amigos! I am vegan and the variety of plant-based options is fantastic! The brussel sprout tacos and the oyster mushroom tacos are superior. I am typically not a big fan of mushrooms, but find myself craving an oyster mushroom taco. The chips here are also phenomenal and better than most Mexican/Tex-Mex restaurants. My boyfriend, who is not vegan, also loves the food, and I am glad we can find options we both enjoy! It s such a great date night spot!

Great food options. Loved that you can pick different tacos off the menu to try. You dont have to have 2 or three of the same. The staff are supppppper friendly - the two younger staff members were amazing-super friendly, attentive, and simply great at what they do-very polite...Annnnnnnnd the Churros!!!!Jesus Its deff worth the drive here for the churros. That CRUNCH just hits! Im so upset I forgot my two behind with my chips . I am, however, so happy to have a place in Hamilton that sells good Tacos. We will be back for more

Nice little area with great photo ops outside and inside. The crunchwrap and chimichanga are great. I loved how they had a vegetarian option for each dish. The chips were meh. I wouldnt bother ordering the nachos because the mains come with chips and salsa anyways. Its very overpriced for the quality of food Im getting which is why Im knocking off a star. Dishes are also quite big so bring an appetite. There is also a bathroom on site. Vegetarian options: Yes, all dishes come with the option of vegetarian protein. Went out for the first time years. Hoping for a great date night. Asked for nachos for my wife with no cilantro, I ordered enchiladas and a drink. Her nachos came out literally cold and of course with cilantro, mine came out cold. For the price of food at this place I was extremely disappointed, they tried to fix things but by then we were pretty turned off, paid for my drink and left. Will not return and I do not recommend

the food is below average, the meat was extremely dry and lacking flavour. the decor is really tacky and the place is in dire need of a deep clean. the servers are inattentive and will seemingly ignore you on purpose. and for somewhere with an open kitchen, the cooks sure don t act like we can see them, yelling and complaining about orders and not practicing food safety/cleanliness. i ve heard lots of good things about this place but it just didn t even come close to the hype, and for the price it was extra insulting. definitely wouldn t come back

It was ok. Fine for Hamilton I guess. Server never checked if things were ok or if we wanted anything else. Parking: We parked a fair distance away on the street and walked. But it was a weekday about 5pm so roads were busy.

I often think about their Nachos wow if I could eat them every day I would! And thank you for having such a great vegetarian menu!

I ve been to amigos a few times and enjoyed it but today was disappointing. We ordered a pitcher of sangria and it didn t taste or feel like it had any alcohol in it at all. They brought my friend the wrong dish and at the end they couldn t split the pitcher between our two bills. Our server was really kind and I don t blame her at all - we didn t complain about anything and didn t mind the wrong dish since it was also good. Overall it just feels like a high price point to short people on their drinks and then be unable to split items between bills.

Food was good but way over priced, 20$ for one Crunchwrap and a very small bag of tortilla chips is kind of insane when you consider most restaurants charge that much for a full entree with sides. Wouldn t go for it unless you can get a discount off Uber or are happy to over pay for your food.

I never leave reviews but this place was very expensive!! I ordered birria tacos and they gave me a crunch wrap? The food was good, but obviously that s not what I ordered. The portion was fine(ish) but your food comes with a teaspoon of salsa and 5 tortilla chips. The pitcher of sangria was $36 and was essentially fruitopia. I am now broke and still hungry.

With a very colorful exterior and a well furnished interior, once you walk in youre hit with the loud music and chatter. If youre looking for a place to have a quiet dinner this is not the place as its just bursting with energy. We were immediately seated with the lovely staff. If you take a look around you can see the kitchen and the cooks working right in front of you which is a nice touch. We ordered the loaded nachos as an appetizer and the birria tacos, enchiladas, and quesadillas as our entree. I feel 20 dollars for nachos is a bit steep but everything else was reasonably priced. The food was great but I wouldnt call it the best Mexican food Ive ever had. I will say though I loved the enchiladas and if I came back here that would probably be my go to order. We didnt order any drinks but they do have a bar you can sit at if this is your thing. If Im ever in the area again Ill definitely be stopping by.

Food needs to be more Tex mex...as well as ,got a chicken burito which Contained mostly tomatoes...no chicken and $20! ...another downfall...you need to get some major cleaning going!...service was the only redeeming quality!

Tacos are good, not amazing but not bad either. Definitely good enough to satisfy a craving. I tried the tacos (chicken, pork, ground beef, bay scallop & corn, oyster mushroom and birria). The ones i had to order more of was the bay scallop & corn and the oyster mushroom ones. Those were the most flavourful. The other tacos are pretty generic, they did not stand out to me personally. Portion sizes are okay for the price. Our wait staff was so polite, kind and attentive. They were out of stock for the sweet corn ribs and al pastor but were also quick to come up with alternatives and suggestions. I dont believe there was parking available on site as it was in Hess Village, but we did paid street parking nearby and it was fine. Dietary restrictions: One of us had a nut & fish allergy that was accommodated very well, no trips to the hospital required!

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Amigos and had such a fantastic time! The menu had a really good selection of apps, tacos, and tex mex foods. As a vegetarian, they had a lot of really yummy options, including a soy chicken alternative which was delicious. I had the Wrap Cruncho Supremo with the soy chicken and it was amazing! Also, the service was impeccable! The staff were friendly, attentive, and went above and beyond to make our dining experience enjoyable.

Me and my boyfriend came and had a wonderful time. The restaurant is super cute with a great atmosphere. We also enjoyed seeing our favourite craft brewery on the drink menu! We ordered some corn ribs, birria and carnita tacos and everything was absolutely delicious. It was SO quick too. It wasn t too busy but it must have only been like 10 minutes or less for our food I was really impressed. And like I said the food was amazing!! Would highly suggest the corn ribs as an appetizer.

I ve heard about Amigos before, I was told it s really good. I tried 5 tacos, the Al Pastor, pork Carnitas, brussels sprouts, sweet potato, & birria. They were all really tasty tacos, the house beer was good.. But honestly the service left a lot to be desired. It took nearly 10 minutes for anyone to take our drink order & then no one returned even to bring us the bill. Disappointing considering the same owner as the Mule next door ..

Absolutely disgusting how the staff treat their customers. The staff working on Saturday night were so disrespectful. We are in our 40 s and I ve never been treated like this before as a paying customer. I will never return, and I ve been spreading our experience to everyone. If I owned this restaurant, I wouldn t want these kids running my business. A bunch of young individuals that were judgmental, rude and Disrespectful. Makes me sick!!

This place is busy on a Saturday night! The ambiance is nice and it looks beautiful inside. I was not a fan of the food though, the tacos were mediocre, the guacamole and nachos weren t anything special. For dessert we ordered churros and I think they were frozen but just deep fried. I wouldn t recommend anyone to go here for the Mexican food. Appreciate the great customer service though!

Absolutely wonderful atmosphere! The vibe was going as soon as we walked in and continued well into the trip home. We split three tacos all together between two people; wanting to try all the vegetarian/vegan options! Service was impeccable. I couldnt have asked for a more upbeat and positive experience from hosts/bartenders and the chefs. Thank you so much for the extra special treat at the end of our time there. We really appreciated it and it secured a spot in our hearts.

Amigos is one of my go-to spots in Hamilton. I ve been many times, trying new food or drinks on the menu each time and loving everything. Truly authentic Mexican food! 10/10 recommend!

Visited during a long weekend evening. They do not take reservations. The food was good, but compared to prices, it gets 4 stars. The place is small. We went there as a group of 8, but the experience may have been better if it was a smaller group. They can convert most of the food options to make it vegetarian. That was a plus.

Had Variety of tacos, all good, except, wasn t crazy about the Jack fruit vegan option. Tried it because curious. I m comparing it to the meat options, so I guess it s not fair to say it was bad. It was ok, coming from a meat lover, so vegans, don t take my word for it. Sure you would love it. Service was always pleasant. Cool vibe, kids love it especially. I tried the Birria tacos and they were delicious. The sauce was perfect and fresh the nachos were also amazing, I loved it and the curros were DELICIOUS. I loved everything about this place and the decorations were AMAZING. Im definitely using that as inspo for my house and the staff were so kind I loved it.

Really enjoyed my margarita! I tried all three available vegetarian tacos: jackfruit, brussels sprout, and soy chickn (pictured left to right). The brussel sprout one was probably my favorite. They were not amazing tacos, but they were not bad! Amigos has a nice porch for dining in the sun! The indoor bar/dining area is also a good vibe, though a bit loud.

My partner and I stopped into Amigos last night for dinner and as per usual, the food and service where phenomenal! For drinks, I started off with their Paloma and my partner gave their Mojito a go. Both cocktails were beautifully crafted and although I am not typically a fan of Mojitos, I had a taste of my partners and HOLY HECK was it good! I will 100% be ordering my own next time. For dinner I ordered one of their chicken tacos and one of their fish tacos. Both were packed with incredible flavor and ingredients. They fill their tacos very well so not only are you getting your moneys worth but I find them filling. Unlike some establishments where youre paying $7+ for a bougie taco that looks like it was crafted to feed a small infant. My partner ordered one their wraps which he found delicious and perfectly filling as well. To end the meal, we obviously had to go with their traditional churros! Always a favourite when I get that sweet tooth craving. In regards to the service, the staff where very much on top of their game. Incredibly polite, friendly and always checking in on their guests. But not so much that it becomes annoying. The atmosphere of Amigos is fun, colorful and matches their brand. 10/10 Highly recommend if you arent already familiar with this hot spot!

This is one of my favourite spots in Hamilton. The food is always amazing, and there are lots of Vegan options. They are great to accommodate dairy free food sensitivities. Music is always and the service is friendly as well!

The food was just barely okay.. the fish tacos were the best thing out of the four of our meals but the food is definitely not authentic Mexican. The drinks were great though! My biggest issue was that those people cooking were NOT wearing gloves.

This place is absolutely superb when it comes to tasty food and good vibes . If you are fortunate enough to have Meagan as your waitress then your experience here will be a 20/10 every time! She provides top tier customer service, is quick and thorough, checks on you every 10-15 minutes, or when you flag her down she s there instantly, as well as she s super accommodating to guests needs/wants. Every drink she makes is consistent with taste, presentation and portion as well! And if you sit inside, you have the pleasure of watching the cooks ENJOY making your food, so you know it s made with love (; haha Overall, this place is a definite reccommendation for anyone that likes amazing food, great service and a fun yet relaxed atmosphere!

Today a friend and I went for lunch. We were served promptly (only one server) with water and info about the menu. We advised that we had never been before and were excited to try the delicious looking food. After placing our drinks and food orders our drinks came promptly and they were delicious. It seemed to be taking forever for our food but we were just chatting and not in a rush so not a huge deal. The server came over and apologized deeply saying somehow our food didnt get rung through properly and he just re-submitted it. He was VERY apologetic and brought us chips and guac to tide us over. When our food came we were very happy with the quality and flavour. So good. We shared the Amigos beef crunch wrap and the chicken crunch wrap supreme. When we finished and were asking for our bills the server said he was bringing over some churros because he felt so bad about our order. It was so kind and forgiving it made us feel bad that he must have had some pretty unkind guests in the past. When we were leaving he again checked to make sure we were happy and said he hopes we come back! We will definitely be going back to an establishment where customer satisfaction is so important. Plus the food was incredible. We left telling them we will be back for sure (even though they forgot about us). HAHA -- 4 stars for atmosphere because there is no option for a standard table (only high tops) indoors. It was raining so we could not sit outside.

Right in the heart of Hess, Amigos is a great spot for Tex Mex, drinks and company. The upbeat and colorful atmosphere, along with the large patio, make this a perfect spot for a fun time. The food is fantastic and i highly recommend the Birria tacos as well as the churros!

Went here on thursday. Walked in saw a big sign saying please wait to be seated stood there for over 15 minutes. Got no service and it wasnt busy only one table had customers. Decided to leave, staff couldnt be bothered to do there job clearly.

We had mentioned that the rice bowl we had ordered was kinda soggy and didn t taste the greatest and she replied well u ate so pay for it.we we re going to pay for it no problem just wanted to let her know our opinion. She comes back with pay ur bill and get out lmaooooo awesome service. No tip for u bit@h and we will never come back here and or recommend this hole.

Found this place after another place my friend and I tried to venture to was a complete dud. The food here was AMAZING. It was so good I ordered some extra to take home and eat later.. service was wonderful. The two ladies working were super sweet and friendly and made us feel very welcome. Love love love, absolutely coming back and bringing everyone I can. ALSO THE SALSA HERE IS UNREAL!! WHY IS IT SO GOOD??

Good place food and service amazing

Im not from Mexico but Im Latina and weve already been to Mexican food places in Hamilton and I can say that this has been one of the best, delicious food and good portions. 6 churros for $11 dollars can you believe it delicious and cheap!!

If you are in #hamilton I highly recommend this restaurant on Hess Street. We ordered Salsa Trio, Veg Taco and Chicken Taco everything tasted the best. I regret not clicking pictures lol. Must visit places. Vegetarian options: Satisfying vegetarian options available.

Truly upset it took me so long to finally visit here! Immaculate service even for how busy it was. The birria tacos were fantastic along with the jackfruit and pork tacos! Great outdoor space to eat and the inside has a great vibe to it, especially with the open kitchen. All around just superb service!

We decided to try Amigos after leaving Supercrawl. We all agree that its some of the best Tex-Mex weve ever had. We all got different items and we were all more than happy. The birria jus that came with those tacos was out of this world and the shrimp taco was a chefs kiss. Our kid was happy that they had plain corn shell tacos with basic ingredients. The never-ending nachos appetizer was expected but the green and red salsas were fantastic. When it came to service, every single staff member was friendly, helpful and went over and above for us without it feeling forced. It was like being at a friends house for supper. I cannot recommend this place enough. Youll just have to go to see for yourself. Vegetarian options: Im not vegetarian but I enjoy plant-based options. The jackfruit taco had the texture of actual pulled pork or chicken and was delicious. Kid-friendliness: We brought our 11 yo with us and it was easy to find something on the menu for a picky eater. The staff were friendly and welcoming to our family.

Everything was excellent when we came for our anniversary. Love the location and ambiance. We were able to sit on the patio, which was perfect. Highly suggest if you are looking for a good taco and cocktail bar.

Such a good spot! Nice big patio in Hess village, our server was awesome - classic margarita is my go to!! (Only thing, the jalapeño taquitos could use a bit more jalapeños! - but add the jalapeño cholula on the table and it helps!!) will keep coming back!

Visited on a Tuesday afternoon for lunch and everything was fantastic. Got the Birria Tacos with the salsa trio side and the food was delicious. The unlimited chips is a great idea. Will definitely be back soon.

Had an amazing experience. The customer service here was so great. The lady wqs vwry attwntive and made sure i was good. Going to a restaurant on a Monday is a def going idea...koz zero wait time... hahaha!.. Im a huge Birria Taco lover.. and its my first time trying Amigos. Read the reviews, and they sure did not disappoint. Well made .. and the birria broth was so so tasty. Also had the crunch wrap nacho... super tasty.

I love this place, its all around great, however I usually order over the phone and pick up and the last several weeks their phone number isnt working it just disconnects, which is super annoying and very disappointing since its been mentioned to staff more than twice now. We all order in our office and Im not the only one whos mentioned the issue.

After a busy morning in Hamilton, my friends and I drove around looking for a nice place to eat- and came across Amigos! An incredibly pleasant ambience with very professional and sincere staff, we really enjoyed! The soya-chicken tacos and soya-chicken nachos were the most incredible Ive ever eaten! We devoured everything with big smiles on our faces and had nothing but good things to say afterwards. Thank you Amigos for the warm atmosphere and delicious meal! what to say about Amigos. A small but incredible place. Welcomed by the most amazing decor and colour in the place. Food was absolutly incredible and mouth watering very authentic. Will defiantly return and will recommend.

My wife and I had high hopes for Amigos. We love Moodys next door and we were told Amigos is the same owner. Sadly, it didnt meet our expectations. There are much better Mexican options in Hamilton.
