We made a pit stop before landing ourselves at fairbank campground! The best meal we have ever tasted! We ordered a medium frie, shack dog, and a cheese burger with the works! This guy knows how to make a mean burger and hot dog! The medium fries were overflowing and tasty! Definitely got our money's worth! Best burger/chip shack ever!

Had a family dinner out at Shak a patates. Both poutine orders (a sm and a med) were overflowing. Fries were excellent. The burger was seasoned and delicious, served on a brioche bum. Pogo was top notch. Well worth the drive out.
Cute setup. They only take cash. The wait was a little long but they were friendly. We had poutine and it was alright. Like not mind-blowingly amazing but definitely better than some other poutines I've had.

Great staff, very friendly and good prices. Pogos are great! Gravy is mediocre. It's just missing. My fries were a bit over cooked. Or the oil just really needed to be changed... My son said the chicken fingers were great
One of my favourite summer time things are chip stand fries but they usually are not fried properly and are not crispy. The fries at Shack A Patate are perfect! I ordered a small and it was huge! Also had a hot dawg, also very good.
As a long-standing customer, I am disappointed with the recent changes under the new ownership. The price increase of 20% for the poutine I usually order is significant, and the extended waiting time of over 30 minutes is unacceptable. It appears that phone orders are being prioritized, which is unfair to dine-in customers. The justification provided for the delay, citing the nature of my order (a poutine), is not satisfactory. I will never return here again,

Great service and hospitality! They were very well organized and the food was excellent. Will definitely return. Only suggestion: I would like more provisions for shade while waiting for food.
This is a very good food truck in Hanmer.
$6 for a small poutine that was placed in a paper bag on its side. All of the cheese was stuck to the bottom of the bag. And no fresh cut fries, I can go to Foodland and get the same thing.

The food was good but the prices are getting ridiculous. They are pricing themselves out of business. I dont think I will be going back.
Pretty good overall, the portions on fries are massive; a medium was way more than I could put away, and Im definitely a potato feind. Plenty tasty too! Burger was decent, juicey, nice flavour. Cant fault on prices, people who are complaining about prices must be living in a different reality; its no batter or worse than anywhere else at this point, and at least they dont seem to have shrunk portion size to keep an artificial price point.
Costs a bit more for the best. Stopped here for a quick pogo and fry with my son who had the same for lunch. Not incredibly busy as the staff works fast. Fries are huge, so keep that in mind. Area is clean and its located near shopping. Parking lot is huge. Evenings are much busier. Cash only. A few tables are available.

Wow one of the best chip stands around! I requested crispy fries with my poutine last night and they were perfectly cooked! Portions are great, gravy was delicious. Thanks to the staff, we will be back.

Great poutine and pogo! Can only imagine how good the burgers would be if they had some. They only take cash. Only two tables so expect to be eating in your car, plenty of parking space.
Had a pouting Fries were not cooked enough. Should take the time to make sure. Disappointed
