辛香汇唐人街店
Felt like some hot Szechuan cuisine so we ordered the fish fillet in hot chilli oil, deep fried chicken with dry chilli peppers and green beans with pork mince and chilli. It was a spicy meal but every dish was good. The dishes look huge but that is only because of the incredible amount of chillies in the dishes. There isn’t as much meat or fish in the dishes as it looks.
Nice casual ambience, food good value in general but was disappointed with only 5 small prawns in the seafood tofu stew (one already eaten) though plenty of tofu perhaps asking too much for $22
Very authentic flavours. Enjoyed the braised tomato beef but the kung pao prawns were soft because of the amount of sauce in it. The service wasn’t the best either as the staff wouldn’t talk.
My friend introduced me to this place. For the first time, I think the food is so delicious. Taste quite authentic and not overpowering. Unique Abalonne serving.
If you want really delicious chinese food in Chinatown Sydney in a modern and elegant setting, then look no further than Spicy Joint, perfect for gatherings
First time we dined here but at the first impression we saw hair in 2 of our dishes. Our friend came and had booking, they just asked what phone number under booking. They could not find our friend's number then just said: don't have, without guiding us to wait or offer any assistance. We called and walked inside to look for friends by ourselves. The dishes tasted alright but kinda oily. I guessed it is authentic cuisine. We were not fan of it. So not recommended.
This Chinese restaurant is a gem in Sydney! Their authentic Sichuan style food offers a wide variety of options that cater to every palate. It's definitely one of the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Highly recommend for a flavorful dining experience!
been here several times over the years ✌️ solid spot for Sichuan cuisine 👍 ⭐ signature dishes are cold chicken 🐔, sesame noodles 🍜, garlic cucumber 🥒, lamb chops 🐑 affordable 💰 free soju & wine & beer byo 🍻 service is ok recommend to book 🤙 head up the escalators pretty big restaurant 🪑
One of my favourite restaurants in Sydney. Very flavourful and tasty Sichuan food - on par with lots of the food Ive had in Sichuan. Excellent value for money Recommended dishes: mouthwatering chicken, deep fried mushrooms, steamed fish Food
Why is it two o clock to close, the door says the last order is 2:10PM, today I want to eat Chengdu cold noodles, actually closed, why is it two o clock to close Why not 2:10last order
Authentic Sichuan food. Reasonable prices great location, staff were friendly and efficient. Recommend. Vegetarian options: Not heaps but tasty options.
Very bad experience, using overnight rice. If you are an early customer. They use the leftover rice from yesterday to serve the early customers today.
Delicious hotpot near China town. Nice staff and fresh food!
Very very awful service!!! Food not coming on time. Food tasted horrible! Unrespectfull and very very rude staff ! Not hygiene, got some hair on our food. Never been to a restaurant as bad as Spicy Joint Haymarket. Definitely not coming back and not recommend at all!
Very slow service, some hair in the food Never comeback. Don t come Food
Been to so many asian restaurant. But this one is awful. Rude customer service and got hair in our food! . Slow service! Dont come to this restaurant. You will be very dissappointed!
This is not a place for the weak
Lamb chops for the win! Always coming back in this place. Ambience feels like youre in China
nice spot
One of the worst customers service I had to come across with.
Ive been here five or six times. The food used to be served at twenty minutes, but now its half an hour and theres only a bowl of rice on the table. There was no heat at all after the dish was served, so I took it.
Was a great dinner place but completely changed recent years. The quality of the food is disappointing.
Great food, efficient service and nice family atmosphere.
Great to be back, on this occasion we felt the food was heavilit seasoned . . . One of Sydneys traditional, authentic and modern sichuan restaurants we frequently visit too often!
Its really good spicy chinese food in chinatown. Great place to eat if you enjoy some spicy food. The price is also affordable.
The food was decent, but not exceptional. The service was fine, though nothing stood out. Prices were on the lower side, but there was a bit of a wait.
The portions of the dishes are getting smaller and smaller, and corners are being cut. I don t recommend it anymore.
A popular Sichuan restaurant featured on TimeOut. Its a large store with a lot of seating, and the atmosphere inside the relatively new Chinese-style store is lively. The menu has plenty of photos. However, the quality of the food is disappointing. Im a huge fan of Sichuan cuisine, and Ive been to this restaurant many times over the past few years, and while some of the food is delicious, the intensity and aroma of the spices are generally lacking, and the taste is very salty. The difference is also large. Its been like this for years around here. Im glad that the prices are relatively reasonable, but if you want to purely enjoy Sichuan cuisine, the nearby Red Chili is better. Also, as other people have reviewed, the service from the hall staff is at the lowest level. To be more precise, there are a certain number of honest staff members who treat us seriously, and I am very grateful to them, but there are some staff members here and there who have an incredibly bad attitude. Branches are popping up all over the place, but I dont recommend them.
Great food and speedy service. Very well priced. The cold chicken in chilli, fish stew and the shredded potato were all great. We had all we can eat or drink for 50 dollars a head.
This may be one of the underrated restaurants in Sydney. Its not common to eat at such a luxurious table at such a reasonable price. I was really satisfied with the food, including the comfortable space
this is my 3rd times having dinner here. But this time, i feel disappointed. I ordered chicken with dry chilli pepper, but the chicken is 1:10 with the chilli. I know the menu is chilli but this overreact. And the fish soup is too oily. Hope this restaurant can fix it soon
Good food let down by perfunctory service. For lunch, Kungpao chicken was very good, cauliflower with belly pork also good if a little light on the pork, and Dan Dan noodles. Pleasant level of chili and pepper heat. Loses points for chipped plates on which the food was served and off-hand service.
Chill taste all the same, lamb chop very fat
my second visit to wuta bistro and truly doesnt disappointttt, HUGE portions and love the ambience must try the braised pork knuckleeee w combinations that they offerrrr basic pork knuckle rice starts from $18.8, can add other meats such as roast pork, bbq pork, roast duck, etc. > braised pork knuckle w roast pork rice ($24.8) > chongqing spicy dry pepper chicken ($24.8) > yangzhou fried rice ($18.8) > golden buns w condensed milk ($8.8) recommended must order
While visiting Sydney, I was accompanied by two friends and we experienced both delicious food and poor service. The meals were served in an unorganized manner, with rice and soup arriving first and a considerable delay before the rest of the dishes were brought out. To optimize your dining experience, its recommended to start eating after the first two or three meals have been served.
Real chinese food. Sale Flavour as in China .
If you havent been ... you should. The spicy Joint lives up to the rave reviews Food
good
great food and affordable!
The taste is good and the price is reasonable. I recommend the pigs trotter soup, which is thick but not greasy. Pickled fish is also good
Changed a lot. New management, new chef and went completely down hill. I have been going to this specific Spicy joint since late 2019. Used to go once a month. This year was bit busy and didn t go as often. Last time I had here was 3-4 months ago and I went here again today. Reduced menu, reduced quality, reduced portion, and most importantly really downgraded to another level in terms of flavour. It is about time to never come back to this place again. Bye bye Spicy Joint :(. I will miss their Pickled mustard fish stew.
The best Sichuan food.
Amazing food. The pork intensities and beef were to die for. It took about 30 mins for all our food to come out.
Love their food! Some menus aren t there anymore, but always love to comeback!
Been here with my family for a few time, usually the food and service always on point, but tonight i can t believe need to wait an hour for our 2nd and 3 rd dishes (maybe i will try to make it my self next time)
Be sure to make a reservation on weekend nights. There are many people and the food is delicious as always.
I came to Sydney to eat at Xinxianghui in July last year. The taste was very authentic. This time, my husband wanted to come here for the first meal. The taste of the same dishes has changed. It s a lot different. The chef must have changed. The stir-fried pork is not pork belly. The belly meat used, the fresh peppers used before, this time the dried peppers from the Chinese Super League, the duck blood in Maoxuewang is synthetic fake duck blood, the cut surface has no bubbles, and the rest of the internal organs have a strong smell , The rice used to be fragrant and glutinous, but this time the rice was very poor and badly cooked. Although it was placed on the rice dumpling leaves, it had no fragrance at all! The price is expensive, the portion is small, and the taste is so bad, you are completely fooling diners. Unfortunately, I have recommended it to many people. I am very disappointed this time and will not go there in the future. I apologize to my friends who were recommended to eat!
How didn t i know about this place! The food came out so quickly, everything was so tasty! The music was a vibe and it was buzzing inside. Staff very efficient, working like machinery in there. Would recommend the cold chicken and the mapo tofu!
Nice food and great vibe
I went to this place for 2 times. At the first time they served well but on the second occasion, I had a bad experience with the food and service. I ordered a pan fried chicken with chilli (cost $30) and beef brisket ($40). Mostly the quantity of food was not enough for the price. When I talked to them, they said this is what they serve always. If I don t like the food I can leave. I was so heartbroken that day. Chicken dish was full of bones and l literally had to find chicken to give to my kids. I recommend not to go to this restaurant.
Amazing food! Tasty and affordable dishes. Patient and attentive staff. Food
Foods are yummy, however one time the chicken has slight smell, but some friends didnt notice it (note: I am quite sensitive). Bowl/utensils arent very clean. Waiter or waitresses arent very attentive to surroundings, but the service is still ok.
It s a big menu so I imagine the quality really varies. But that said, we would always get the sichuan fish soup. Too good.
The speed of serving the food is very slow, and the four people can only arrive after eating one and the next dish, and the waitress has a very poor attitude
We visited here last year when we came to Sydney. It was really delicious so we decided to visit here again! Everything was delicious!
We were there a few years ago the price really hasnt changed but either the chef has changed or their using cheaper ingredients the food wasnt as nice as it used to be. But it was still good.
Absolutely no positive experience on my first visit. All of the foods are extremely oily and bland. Mountains of chilies yet insulting amount of chicken meat on one dish. Braised cabbage is oily and flavourless. Green beans overcooked and limpy. The spicy fish is ingestable but clearly made with 0 care. Only decent food is bao. We arrived at 8:45 p.m. and were ushered out by 9:30 p.m., despite updated Google closing time being 10:00 p.m. This doesnt justify the food quality.
Great sichuan food!
The price and the taste are equal. Certainly worth it. The lamb cutlers must try.
Great taste, great price, great decor!
It is a relatively large restaurant in Sydneys Chinatown. There are many delicious dishes, and there are many people. Suitable for those who want to eat good food. It may not be suitable for chatting, it will be a bit noisy.
A place I want to go again when I go to Sydney. Fast service! Delicious Chinese food!
Recently visited this place for a team dinner. We were given a private room for our large group, so that s already great. Staff very attentive. Place is super busy. Making a reservation is recommended. Food is delicious and spicy.. nicely seasoned, always came to our table piping hot. We ordered over 10-12 different dishes, and each and everything was so good. Drinks were refreshing. Bathroom wasn t very clean.
Spicy Joint is the best! We had four people and ate like kings and queens, the table was full of dishes and it came to $101 for everything. I couldnt believe it. Best value meal Ive had since returning from Malaysia. Visit this restaurant!
Everything from the menu is delicious. Tea tree mushroom and hot pot with beef slices are gonna be my every-time order when I visit there.
Ooooh spicy
Fantastic Szechuan food. A large variety of other regional Chinese dishes too. Best experienced with a group of 4-6. Surprisingly affordable, I ve never paid more than $25 per person. Great buzzy vibe in the restaurant.
Good food. Spicy. There are a few none spicy foods too.
Recommend the fat beef with maocai, kung pao chicken and stir-fried cabbage!
Very solid and good chinese restaurant. But all the waiter and waitresses are so grumpy. I dont think they like what they are doing. . There is no customer service at all. But they are serving decent food .
Food was nice
Reasonable prices for the portion size. Plenty of seating for having a meal with a group. But ingredients used are not the freshest and the dishes lacked depth of flavour. It s just average. review based on these dishes: Chengdu cold noodles Friend sticky rice cakes Twice cooked pork
Wow, what a place! We went early and were the first there, but I know it gets super busy as I ve seen the line up. I recommend you only come here if you like spicy food, hence the name, as pretty much everything is hot. Money for value is so on point and I ll be back no doubt
Great food and interior decoration. But we had to finish our dinner in one hour because someone booked the whole venue in advance. Still recommended considering the price
In the heart of China town you can find this little pearl, really authentic chinese food so tasty and yummy. Suggestive location and nice atmosfere but get ready to line up to get your sit. Be careful, the hot pot is really HOT
Busy as always, even in a Tuesday night. This place has the best sichuan pepper dishes and my lips are still tingling!! Food : 5/5
Terrible service. In my mind, it was a good restaurant with nice food and reasonable price a few years ago. However, it becomes the worst restaurant in Sydney now which I have been to. Waitress throw a chair to the column only because we request a high chair for my two year old boy. During the whole dinner, we didnt request any service. Until we finish eating, my husband asked for two big containers but she just ignored him and walked away to clean another table. My husband thought she didnt hear it and asked her for the second time. She was so rude and walked away. Never go back again. I have never seen such rubbish service. The waiter acted like a psycho. Just because I came in and asked for a high chair, she picked up the chair and knocked it over the pillar next to the dining table. I thought she did it unintentionally and didnt think much about it. After finishing the meal, I asked for lunch boxes to be packed. I pretended not to hear the question and left immediately. I repeated it to her. She glanced at us and continued to do her own thing. This waiter came to work at Xinxianghui with so much hatred. If he hates being a waiter so much, then he shouldnt earn the money. This waiter is not an exception. It is really disgusting to eat here.
Very good Chinese food, with a focus on Sichuanese cuisine. Highlights were the lo mai gai and the strange flavour chicken.
The food was mediocre, the service was terrible, and the environment was noisy. When we were seated, we politely asked the waiter to clean up the remaining rice residue on the seat, but the waiter threw the bowl and spoon directly on our table...
Good portion, good food, not expensive just bad service, so just think about food, ignore the customer serv there.
Well worth the wait. Food was served quick. Everything we ordered was delicious and full of flavour. Fish flavoured eggplant soup was my favourite, works well with all the other dishes. I highly recommend this place.
Rude staff. While eating lunch, the waitress and cashier appeared and demanded payment. It was just after 2pm. I asked if it could wait till we finished eating and was told we had to pay now. They refused to leave. I wondered about the bad smell in the place. I discovered it was the cashier who vapes while walking around the restaurant past the diners. I asked to speak to the manager about the vaping - I was blanked.
Probably the best Sichuan cuisine restaurants in Sydney.
Average food and poor service from majority of staff members
Loved the food here! Very reasonable price and great quantity. Hight recommended steamed fish in pickle broth.
Bustling atmosphere even on a Monday night. It was packed and thats a good sign! Ordered heaps for two and the portions we felt were generous. Reasonably priced and good flavours. Also been to the Chatswood one and comparable. Will definitely return!
rude waitress!
The two of us can eat half of it for 25 yuan per person, and pack the other half for tomorrows dinner. Great value for money.
Tastes good
Great sized portions, most dishes were excellent. Plenty of Sichuan style favourites to choose from. We would return for the spicy fried Sichuan chicken and the garlic cucumber, the mapo tofu wasnt as good as other versions weve tried. The menu is huge and we look forward to trying other dishes soon. Service was very good.
Good food and good range of menu. Regardless of busy or not, need to make some effort to get attention to order or ask for cutlery.
Food is fantastic, come out very quickly and taste fantastic. Slight down side we had to take our order up to counter as no one come for order just kept walking past. Food
Chinese restaurant that has a beautiful interior with an affordable price. The fish soup is their best-seller. It is very spicy do eat with extra care. Overall, the dish is to the oily side, but great place to have family gathering
It took my friends a lot of effort to get me to this place after I read a lot of bad reviews plus Im not so much into spicy food but tbh this place is great especially when u hv a great group of friends to share good food with. The wonton, small portion it is, was light n smooth. The soup of chicken tripe n pork was amazing. Watch when u order rice as it comes in incredibly large bamboo basket
They have some excellent dishes that my partner craves. Cold, marinated chicken is really good, and so are deep fried, wok tossed prawns. Service isnt friendly, but there are usually plenty of staff to ask for help, and the food comes out super fast. Wheelchair accessibility: I have not seen an elevator to be used for wheelchair accessibility.
Very disappointing dining experience: 1-When I ordered hot tea at normal dinner time, I was told that the teapot was not enough; 2-I ordered four dishes, and three of them had problems: brown sugar glutinous rice cake - the sugar water was very watery and could not be hung; did you order the pork belly and chicken soup; the signature couples lung slices were not enough; the steamed pork was cold inside and out (it was taken away without eating at all) The heating was never brought back...) 3- The service attitude is very poor and indifferent. When checking out, I told all the problems. The waiter did not apologize, but his attitude was even worse. After finishing this meal, I felt a little uncomfortable in my stomach whether it was because of the oil or because the food was not hot enough, and I felt even more uncomfortable. Remember to never come again. Share it with everyone so that you don t get into trouble again. The boss makes money too easily and has forgotten the fundamentals of business.
The service attitude was really ridiculous. They all looked like they owed money and didnt say a word. Everything they asked for was thrown on the table. I don t know what happened to them, no one is normal, and there is no employee training at all. Do you have to have some kind of mental illness to work in this restaurant? Dont understand, dont recommend
Delicious food! But the service is terrible. Staff doesnt care, I saw waiters walking around eating while having food in his hand to serve. They played phones, had headphones, and talked. Also, they are very rude. They rolled their eyes when we asked them to take dirty plates. Its not a good place to celebrate special occasions. But i have to admit that the foods are delicious and eatable.
Flavoursome and very interesting dishes. Definitely a place to go with friends so that you get a chance to share many different dishes. They are not good in amending dishes to suit non meat eaters and 3 dishes we had asked to come without the meat component all came with meat. The staff are very unfriendly so do not expect to feel like you are being looked after. We were fortunate that one of our party spoke fluent Mandarin as it make things a lot easier. The restaurant is big and looks really impressive. Definitely with visiting
Food is alright, just not really good service
Nicely decorated, large tables - busier than imagined. Generous portions and with a good spice levels. Great prices and value. Food : 5/5
Used to be one of my favourite places to visit, but the past few visits have gotten more and more disappointing. Portions have gotten smaller and the flavour has been lacking. Hope the original flavours can make a return.
This place is underrated.
Most of the food here seem really oily and spicy but thats not actually the case! Id recommend the chilli chicken, which was actually pretty light and refreshing for what it is. The fish fillet soup was pretty good as well, though it does leave a stronger waxy aftertaste characteristic of szechuan pepper.
It s been a long time since I ve been here. It still tastes the same. It s delicious. Delicious Sichuan food.
Great food good quality, spicy as the name suggests. Busy in the city but great overall. Can get busy over the weekend, so be sure to reserve your spot. Public transport is easy but parking is difficult to get to. Food
Our family have lived in Sichuan for more than 10 years and this place did not disappoint! Dishes are an ok size. We ordered 5 dishes plus a soup (3 grownups and 3 kids) and we left with full bellies.
We tried pork dumplings, steamed rice cake, stir fried green bean, slice beef in soup stock, and chicken in chilli and sichuan pepper sauce. I enjoyed all the dishes here we ordered, and personally I thought among all the dishes I tried during my visit to Australia, Spicy Joint is the best. This place served huge portions with a very filling with decent prices. Not all staff understand English, but still there is this one staff who served us and gave a really helpful advice. Surely going to eat here again when I visit Sydney next time :)
The food and restaurant is really but the smell of people smoking outside the restaurant keeps drifting into the indoor area.
Average service, great food with a huge selection, the atmosphere is also very nice. Good for bigger groups and its fairly priced
During the evening you have to take a raffle ticket from the staff. The purpose of the raffle ticket is not to win a prize. Unfortunately the purpose of the raffle ticket is to play bingo. Once your number is announced, you are finally able to dine in. The dining experience is below mediocre. The food is not reasonably priced and the portions are significantly reduced to increase profit margins. When you order a chicken dish, you get a few pieces of chicken and a lot of peanuts as it easily camouflages with the colour of the chicken. Overall I do not recommend wasting your time dining here.
Chilly chicken was not spicy enough cold chicken dish was good and the cucumber is best dish to refresh your mouth! Must try! And if they have smaller size of chinese alcohol, i def try it but they only have big size which is 500ml.
This place is the best. Not especially spicy but so delicious. We tried the pork belly, spicy chicken, green beans, eggplant, fried fish...all amazing. The atmosphere is really nice also.
Spicy Joint in Haymarket, Sydney is a fantastic Chinese restaurant known for its spicy dishes. The flavors are bold, which was deliciously balanced. The service is attentive, but it can get crowded during peak hours. Overall, a must-visit for spice lovers!
Tucked in a building on the corner of Dixon St and Goulburn St, this place was easy to miss, head up the escalator and there s a large restaurant buzzing. Must try the cabbage in pork lard, steamed egg with meat, both dishes were full of flavour and aroma. Food was really delicious, well presented and will not disappoint spicy food lovers. There s also a lot of non-spicy options surprisingly which is perfect to cater for everyone.
Nice interior and bustling atmosphere on Wednesday night. The spice level is ideal and flavour is deep. Service deteriorated as venue became busier during the night.
The best and most authentic Sichuan food we ve had in Sydney so far. The Sichuan pepper fish fillet is a must try. Food here is not for those who cannot handle spicy food. Price is also quite reasonable. Highly recommended.
The atmosphere of this restaurant is nice. The food is generally good, except the portions are a little bit less.
It s 10x better than lan Sydney china chilli no cap
Great option for some authentic & spicy Chinese food. Waiters are not attentive so be prepared to get your own menu and water refills, but the food more than makes up for it. Food : 5/5
(-) Staff are mostly rude if you cant speak Chinese because they are hardly to understand if you speak English. (-) Staff likely banging plate onto your table when giving food. They attitude is like that as the chinese countryside. Can see from the plate, bowl and spoon are mostly crack! ** Check photos I posted, cracks plate and spoon as Hazard! Chinese cuisine with very strong spices. All cuisine has dried chilli on it and tastes really really salty. Suitable for the one who likes strong chinese spices and salty. The price is reasonable $20 to $30 for each dish.
Delicious food Sweet service The china Chinese have a very artful way of cooking cauliflower
Some dishes are quite nice, some are pretty ordinary. Best for large group share, and not really for people who can t take chilli and spices. Quite noisy. Can be busy and difficult to get seats if no booking.
There was a cockroach in our steamed rice. They only offered a new rice and 20% off, this felt insufficient for the severity of this issue. Im shocked at how a cockroach could make it into the steamed rice and then onto the table. The staff were difficult to get a hold of and somewhat dismissive, but did acknowledge the issue, however I feel the resolution is insufficient. Im quite disgusted at how it made it into the food and onto the table. I usually love the food here, but this has ruined it for me entirely.
Delicious and def worth being in 4s imo. Right amount of heat and everything we ordered were great and fragrant. Recommend the Brisket with smoked bamboo. Food also comes out really quick. Only downside is the desserts are a bit lacking, entrees and mains are excellent.
The service was bad. It was very rude the way the waiter left dishes on the table. Food was not yummy at all. I wont go to Spicy Joint anymore.
Serving is very slow
Food is amazing! The chilli dishes are my favourite. The toilets need maintenance though and there was no toilet paper.
Food and place are ok, but they DON T take your orders! You MUST scan a QR code to order.
One of the most authentic Sichuan dishes I have ever eaten in Australia! very nice
Fantastic! So many delicious dishes!!!
When the delicious Chinese food came, we thought we had eaten it. Because, not only is it less, but it looks like its been eaten.
Visited this restaurant for a few times, food still good with the decent price and good portion. Waiters and waitress are also friendly though someone may do the services better.
Best Sichuan food in Sydney
Some dishes are pricey but most are cheap and affordable, good with more people dine in. Food is nice
Is the serving of food too hasty? Hang it out like this
1. **Very rude Waitress**: The waitress approached our table abruptly while we were still eating (15 minutes before closing time). She said only bill and pointed towards the door, implying we should pay and leave. Her demeanor was dismissive and rushing, lacking basic courtesy and making us feel unwelcome. 2. **Complicated Ordering Process**: The restaurant required ordering through a QR code system. This system didnt work on our phones without connecting to the restaurants WiFi and using a VPN, which was inconvenient and not feasible for us. 3. **Poor Customer Service**: Faced with difficulties in using the QR code system, we expected assistance. Instead, the staff handed us a pen and paper to write down our order, showing no initiative to verbally take our order or offer any form of helpful customer service.
Food very tasty Service so quick Waitress very flat.. I asked chopped chilli, they gave me chilli oil Food : 5/5
large restaurant in china town upstairs of pub food was tasty and big potion , oily price is reasonable 2 ppl only $100 get many foods
Very disappointing experience. We are waiting there for like more than half an hour. No one checked in with us. We ordered through QR code. And we called a staff to check if our order has been processed successfully. 15 mins after, no updates, we called another team member, the girl told us the QR code system is in maintenance, we need to order from the paper menu. And that is already 45 mins after we being seated. No sorry at all. No customer service.
What a great meal we had! Enjoyable atmosphere and first rate food - there wasn t a bad dish served. Wish they could open one in Melbourne!
For someone that was not used to spicy food this place had plenty of options to offer, very tasty
The food was great and the service quite fast. Located on very strategic area. Quite clean toilet. And they let you book out first
Nestled in Chinatown, this Sichuan-flavored restaurant offers prices that stack up favorably against other Chinese eateries. During our dining experience for two, we indulged in a selection of chicken, fish, cabbage, and rice, amounting to an expenditure of approximately $77. While I wouldnt particularly recommend the Deep Fried Chicken with Dry Chili Peppers for its flavor profile, the fish and cabbage dishes turned out to be satisfactory alternatives, making the overall meal worthwhile. The competitive pricing adds to the appeal of this Sichuan gem in the heart of Chinatown. Wheelchair accessibility: Not particularly wheelchair-friendly.
Delicious and reasonably priced
The old foreman is a pure idiot who hasnt changed at all over the years. The kitchen was dirty and disgusting.
Dont get how this place get so crowded. Staff was rude and foods were mediocre. Not enough seasoning, or maybe they are too used to eating mala so they couldnt taste the food? Our whole table of 8 thought the same thing - even our mom can cook better than this
The place was pretty packed on a Wednesday night when I visited. Apparently you can make a booking. I had sour plum drink which was nice. Had rice flour with steam pork, cheese sweet potato bake and fish in spicy sichuan sauce. Love the sweet potato bake, it felt like theres a bit of honey in it.
NEVER EVER GO BACK HERE ANYMORE! All the staff are rude, they seems that they dont wanna do their job! Especially the old man who claimed his self as the manager/boss or something He was unbelievable, i was there when a group of moms and little kids were there to celebrate birthday, but this old man yelled at them cause they are singing happy birthday. The children were crying, i feel bad for all the moms. And the worst part is i found hair in my noodle, but when i asked one of the staff to change it to the new one, the old man came and started to yelled at us and tell us that its my hair. And the bathroom is very disgusting, i found one cockroach in one of the toilet. I think this restaurant need to be check by health department. NEVER EVER COME BACK HERE ANYMORE!!!
There was steel wire in the rice, the smoked chicken was feathery, and the stir-fry portion was too little.
Great price and the quality is plenty for two to three ppl. Now, why I didn t give four star is because the fish dish are pretty bad. The water boiled fish was soggy and didn t have much taste. The spicy fish head was made from salmon which has a over powering taste which is not, well, Asian. I would stay away from the fish dishes and stick with the meat. I will be going back because the price and offering is great.
I came here on my birthday with my family where we ordered around 8-10 dishes together. The food came out quick but some of the waitstaff completely ignored me when I asked for things. I had to ask 3 or 4 times for each request. When my elderly grandfather went to pay in cash, they short-changed him $10. They did not give him a receipt either. An awful way to take advantage of an elderly man. I was appalled when he had informed me on our way home that he hadnt realised they did not give him the right change. This, along with the poor staff training really soured the experience.
Sour soup fish is dory Seat is dirty with lots of food remains Service is lacking. food serves fast though. Food : 2/5 |
I wish if i could rate this place in negative. The worst customer service ever. Felt like I was dining at Karens Diner (A place with rude waiting staff on purpose) except at this place the staff was actually rude. Food was average and pathetic customer service. Wouldnt recommend this place.
Simply put, the food here was bussin (very good). It has satisfied my spicy food cravings for the week or more and here are some things we ordered: - Golden egg fried rice with diced chicken (my personal favourite, 4.5/5) - Beef brisket hotpot in a bowl (2nd favourite - addictive but you will choke on the spice if you breathe in too hard, 4/5) - Fried green cabbage and shiitake mushrooms (good if you like savoury veggies, 4/5) - Dan dan noodles (was solid but not the highlight 3/5) - Stewed pork belly with bamboo shoots (pork meat to fat ratio was a bit whack but flavours were nice 2.9/5) Overall, 10/10 would dine in again
Very rude staff and they dont offer takeaway.
Very nice and authentic Chinese Szechuan cuisine. Its busy and waiter/waitresses are always not available upon calling during our dining. But will definitely come back for the food! Yum!
Tasty food but too oily. Otherwise it is very good.
I ordered fried yellow croaker, waiter(old man) served wrong table and customers already touch and eat it, he said he will make new one for us. And we been waiting for that. When it s ready. We had it halfway we found one piece of them look like someone bite it. I feel so disgusting. We told him but he shout at us it s new one bla bla bla. And walk away So disappointed and we won t go back again
Amazing foods without empty your wallet. I will definitely go back often. Foods are fresh and delicious. Feel relaxing eating there. Beautiful restaurant. The staffs need show more smiling face and need to improve answering phone skills. Is part of the excellent service.
Huge place. Staff are fine and reasonably friendly. The boss is quite a character as he tries to organise the large lines for tables at weekend dinner time. In saying this, the queue for the tables is all computerised so once you are in the system, you will get a table and it kind of works like clock work. You order on a piece of paper and then hand it out to staff. The dishes are quite well portioned and spicy (but perhaps not like in Sichuan). The prices are reasonable. All in all, quite a good experience. Vegetarian options: There are some vegetarian options, but not a huge amount.
Best Chinese restaurant ever food is so good but I m sure You will definitely throw it all out after using toilet here
Me and my friends came at 8:20 today, the waitstaff, she stood next to us and told that kitchen would be closed in last 5 mins, while we were choosing and wrote down on the menu, she took the menu on my friend s hands even though we hadnt finished yet. She also beat the bowls and cutlery on the table. So rude! We dont appreciate that attitude. Anyway, next time if the host want to take bookings just remind customers that your restaurant is nearly closed. We enjoyed food here many times but that girl will make us never come back again.
my favorite restaurant for group dining, i think we have almost eaten our way through the whole menu. I love the fish
Decent taste. Zero service. The waiters literally ignored us the whole time. When they serve you food, they throw the plate onto the table .
Hidden gem or maybe Ive been out of touch but man what a restaurant. Food was amazing, everything! Will definitely be back
Worst experience ever!!!we had dinner there last night, and my son found a live cockroach in the spicy dumpling, I called the service person to come over, he didn t say anything and went away while my son still holding that spoon with cockroach hanging on the side of his spoon for few minutes, and finally the manager came over and told me that they will cancel this dish for us and cook us another one, he said it s live, that means it went in after they cook the dish, so the soup itself it s clean, I cannot believe it, we use to have dinner there every week, with this disgusting experience we won t go back again
worst of the worst
