We are closed for the 2023 season. We are offering private dining and catering for small groups during the fall and winter months. Please send a message for details at our website. At its heart, Bantam is offering a unique, fresh, and farm forward lunch menu. Bantam brings farm to table lunches, using local seasonal ingredients. Located on the beautiful estate of Closson Chase Vineyards, there are exceptional wines on offer to pair with your meal choice.

Delicious and fresh food overlooking a beautiful vineyard. The setting is so serene and restful. Perfect place for a meal in the County. The people who work there are wonderful. We came at the end of August and enjoyed their patio by the vineyards. We ordered the cold noodles with tofu and fresh vegetables, and the seafood hoagie - both excellent and so fresh.
Very good food and very friendly service, great atmosphere. The noodle bowl was excellent!
Such a lovely charming place! Olivia is absolutely incredible! Food is great and always with a personal touch - got some fresh blueberries in my salad today and a sip of Pinot Noir - just to give it a taste. Exceptional experience!
Happy to get a great vegan meal out in the County! The cold noodles (delicately flavoured tofu and light filling noodles) and hummus plate (crostinis with hummus topped with pickled onions, olives, radish etc.) were particularly yummy. The pretzel was a bit dry and salad a bit plain but filled with fresh vegetables so no complaints. Overall very happy to have found this restaurant!
A couple of weeks ago I was seeking a tasty spot to eat that was healthy + not fast food + this incredible place showed up during my search. I live in Rossmore myself so driving there wasn't out of my way too. Anyhow I arrive + am greeted in a friendly way by the host. She escorts me to a table + I start looking at the menu of course. I immediately order a rose wine that they actually make on their vineyard. The wine was fantastic, smooth + slightly fruity. The cook approached me + we had a wonderful conversation about food, travel, life etc. A few moments later I was brought my dish, Chilled Noodle Bowl which was visually appealing to look at. The dish was made w/ all locally grown foods. The ambience in Bantam is calm + peaceful. The music I heard playing was very smooth, the artist Sade stands out to me. Look her up, she's fantastic too. The place had a beachy feeling even tho it was on a vineyard. Long way around the barn, this spot is most definitely worth visiting. HIGHLY RECOMMEND. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Really loved this little place at the vineyard. The view was nice in a quiet location. We sat inside the restaurant itself since it was too windy for umbrellas. Rollande served my table and she was so lovely. I have a son with a food allergy and we had a nice conversation about the topic. Food was amazing! Looked great and tasted great too. If you like seafood, you must try the hoagie. It doesn’t look big like a sub but it’s plenty filling. I would definitely visit this again when I pass through PEC again (which I will because it’s such a lovely area to explore).
One of the best restaurants in downtown Picton. It was a crazy day with wind chills and -15 weather. Glad we went to this restaurant because not only the food was so immaculately presentable but tasted phenomenal too. Coming back again for sure
I had the most delicious County Reuben sandwich and salad. The meat literally melted in your mouth. The warm sauce, cheese and crispy bun was pure excitement to my palette. What a beautiful place to sit, have a bite to eat and a glass of wine. Would highly recommend this gem!

Such a delicious meal right in the heart of the country! I had the vegan salad and it tasted so fresh. The herb dressing and root vegetables mixed in with the salad was delicious. I will definitely be coming here again!
Best warm pretzel I ve ever had!
Excellent service and food. I had the East Coast Hoagie Bun, loaded with shell fish. My husband had a special which was pork tenderloin salad. Both were amazing. Highly recommend a visit when in the county.

Stopped for lunch and it was absolutely delicious. I had Coronation Chicken and my daughter had soup of the day every thing was fresh and the presentation was excellent we are definitely returning, highly recommend it Parking: Parking was easy lots of parking spaces easy access to Bantam.
Stopped in for an early dinner and everything was great. Service, food and atmosphere. Will go back again next year!

I love this place! It is a hidden gem in Picton. The people are amazing and the food is fantastic. There is a great story behind the inspiration for each dish. Highly recommend it. The seafood chowder is the best I have tried!

This is a cute place. The food was really good, however there was so many bugs surrounding our table that made it hard to enjoy. Not appetizing when there are bugs landing on your face with every bite you take. Lots of flies in the kitchen too, too bad because the food was really good. EDIT** I believe we were in around September/October. Regardless of what season, there s no excuse for that amount of bugs. If other restaurants have it under control, it s controllable. Again, the food and staff was amazing, but the bugs ruined it for us.
Wow wow wow!!! Went for lunch on our way between the different vineyards and this was my partner and I s favorite stop. We had the tuna tartar which was extremely flavourful and refreshing on a hot summer day. We then shared two sandwiches that left us both in awe! This is a MUST when in the area, please don t miss out!!
Amazing little lunch spot just by Closson Chase Winery. Sit and enjoy the views of the vineyard while grazing on some fresh and local wares. Convert any sandwich into a salad on request. The Hoagie sandwich was well reviewed and highly recommended. Super nice staff , friendly and accommodating. Great place to grab a bite to eat while hopping along Closson Road

We used Bantams private dining service for a birthday celebration. A 5-course Indian inspired menu in the comfort of our home. Each course beautifully plated, each course absolutely delicious and wonderfully spiced. Everyone enjoyed their meal and was raving about the food. Will do it again in a heartbeat. Thank you Rollande for making our birthday dinner so special!
I had the pleasure of enjoying an amazing meal at this cozy, intimate, farm to table restaurant. They specialize in small, shareable plates but I actually found the portions quite generous. The open kitchen and size of the restaurant allowed us to chat directly with the chef about all the dishes we ordered and ingredients. Such a lovely staff and overall great dining experience.

We ordered the family takeout meal and it was incredibly delicious and flavourful. The food traveled extremely well and the portions were huge, we packed the leftovers for lunch tomorrow. I also appreciated the takeout containers used, minimal plastic. Highly recommend!
We are vegan and order the family meal as often as possible (haha). Our family totally LOVES the food here, the service is also exceptional- the chef is obviously super creative and passionate about serving amazing tasting food while local farmers! Highly recommend this place!
Absolutely delicious vegan options! The chef will gladly convert non-vegan dishes into vegan ones. Very friendly owner and hostess. Nice outdoor patio under large tree. We ate there twice during our four day stay in the Picton area and will return every time we come back to the area. Reasonable prices for a great meal.

Very nice staff, very good atmosphere, you enter the place and it smells delicious!! The wine selection is great. The balance of flavours is gastronomy level and everything is homemade. Would come back for sure :)

The food here is amazing! This is the highest calibre as far as taste, presentation and quality and not what Id expected from a little cafe in downtown Picton, especially visiting from Toronto. Rollande is lovely and takes pride in the food and service she provides. I couldnt wait to write a review and am enjoying her lemon cake with caramel sauce AND a chocolate brownie as I do. Yum!
