Absolutely horrible. 12:20pm we walk in and there is no server/Bartender. She finally shows up and looks like she just rolled out of bed dressed in saggy jeans and a wrinkled sweatshirt. Waited fifteen minutes for our drink order. The place only has about ten customers so she's not that busy. Food is always half decent but the rest of the experience is terrible. Not coming back!
Feels like who ever runs this place has given up. No atmosphere at all (no background music, place was empty just strange on a Saturday). Food was unfortunately terrible. Restaurant itself is not very clean. The young lady servicing us was good so nothing to do with service.
Our main waitress was overworked but patient and understanding. That’s as far I’ll go for positive feedback. The kitchen was disorganized: food was getting to our table at random times, missing a number of items from the menu, one food runner was so disengaged and impolite she uttered “no idea” when we ask what dish she was handing to our table. The food was inconsistent, one spinach dip was over cooked while another was fine, one Cesar salad was drenched while another bone dry. Mozzarella sticks were just shells as the cheese melted out in the fryer. The garlic parm “crackers” were tasteless except for the oil. East Side Mario’s is dying a slow death and it’s no surprise why.
The food is awesome as always. The only problem is that everything is more expensive and they give you less food. This used to be one of my favorite restaurants but now I'm not sure.
Our server was kind and did a good job. I just remember loving this place as a teen and now it lacks luster. Had to ask for bread, which was given when we were almost done our meals. The salads were personal size (which is okay) I just remembered it being more...opulent when I was younger. And it was expensive. To not get the experience it used to be.
The restaurant is lovely. The atmosphere is amazing, and the staff were great! Even though the service was a bit slow, we enjoyed our meals. We will definitely be coming back in the future. **sorry for not having good photos. I took pictures after we started eating**
I definitely recommend this restaurant in Gatineau (Hull) .Meals are great and generous portions. Also drinks are delicious. I enjoy eating and spending time with family in this place. Nice ambiance and welcoming staff.
4yr ago was terrible, today sept 8 , I desided to give it a try , still zero , this place is terrible. Terrible, Terrible and even more terrible. Service is ZERO please do not encourage. It may not be staff, it could be management. Waited 22 minutes before someone came to see me. I had to get up and see the waitress. There was a couple that came in 5 minutes after me and got served.... Where is the service. I must give theme credit for the food, it's good. But service is ZERO
I went to the restaurant for dinner at 12:10 on Friday, but unfortunately the door was locked and the restaurant appeared to be closed. I went to dinner elsewhere.
Food was fair prices also for lunch. But free bread Vegetarian options: All options available. Parking: Parking is somewhat difficult, construction is underway, they (the owners of the shopping center) have removed a 2nd level of the parking lot. Kid-friendliness: Yes family friendly environment. Wheelchair accessibility: Yes
The food is very good, service good but slow, above all this restaurant needs a lot of love, not pleasant to eat there
His greenhouse has nothing to do with opinions, he tells us to contact them by email, and does not return any messages! If you ever feel like having a drink, go for it, and leave without paying after your finished drink! These are the only way to get compensation for their poor service for years! And the way to finally be able to have your opinion heard by the boss I imagine!
Honestly, if you want a spaghetti that taste like chef Boyarde this is the place. Service was great but waiting 60 minutes when no one is in the restaurant for a bland spaghetti is bad, especially when there s no one.
Overall a really good restaurant the waiters are super nice it dosent take a long time to get your food to arrive Slay
Terrible servive, very slow. Food was mediocre at best. Would not return.
The hostess assigns us a table and no one comes to see us. The tables are dirty and people seem tired of waiting. After 15 minutes of waiting I get up to find out who our waitress is. The waitress finally comes to see us and tells us that there is a group of 20 people and that there is a 45 minute wait because there are 2 of them. She insists on the fact that it will be long and lets us clearly understand that she wants us to leave. Very poor service. The waitress seemed tired of her day. Too bad because we have always had a great experience in the other East side Mario s but we will not return to the one in Hull.
Tuesday September 3 dinner 5:15 p.m. to 7:35 p.m. Correct food Terrible service Kisses girl better than our waitress Between the starter and main meal 57 minutes of waiting I think the waitress was called Iris she should change jobs In addition, no husband was served more than 10 minutes after us 3 people Empty restaurant
When we arrived we were informed of an hour wait to be served. It was faster. Not impressed with the flavor of the food. Definitely in decline.
She really disappointed our dinner which ended up being no supper. We waited more than an hour and asked to speak with the manager (very nice waitress, she did her best but the wait was horrible) the manager came, manager is a very big word, not professional at all, she mentioned that Shes going to go see the waiting time in the kitchen, she never came back. Another waitress came to tell us that it shouldnt take long. Afterwards to tell us that the chef had just seen that one of the dishes ordered would not be available because they had more (in an hour they did not notice) so we left without eating.. the only good thing was the waitresses who do their best. Small note the restaurant was almost empty. Maybe think about notifying people at the door that there is such a long delay in getting served. Very disappointing experience as an evening
The waitress was super nice and delivered my order to my car when my online order was late and I was with my 2 young children. Super fine and excellent service from him. THANKS!!!
Interesting menu, as the drinks were served long after our arrival we asked to be served quickly. We had a reservation for a specific activity. Unfortunately, my sister did not receive the correct dish requested, my partner had soup/salad/bread as desired and never received the bread and salad. As everything took so long, we had to leave urgently. The waitress argued with us when we left. We left in a hurry despite several reminders to the waitress for the bill. The irony: we paid for things that we never received due to service delays. Too bad good food. Parking: You have to park in the shopping center parking lot
One word: WAIT We were happy to find an east side, because in our region it closed a few years ago. Unfortunately everything took a long time for our visit. I cant imagine what it might be like if the restaurant is full. Drinks 10 to 15 min. Then almost 1 hour for meals. Fortunately the bread helped us wait. The supposedly unlimited salad was served to us only once. Yes ! We asked for it again but never a bowl came back to us. We have 3 different servers.... The last one brought us our meals and surprise no meals for the children. The bill arrived without taking the time to ask us if we wanted anything else. It was a bit like pay and deca......**. Very ordinary! In short, very bad experience in terms of customer service. At least the food once at the table was good. Having been able to enjoy the bread with my pasta and having other salads would have changed my opinion. Parking: Not easy traffic. People are impatient and creating new spaces. It becomes difficult to go out.
Visited. Place was empty. Took 15 minutes for a waiter to come to our table. After waiting 45 minutes for our order arrived we finally asked the waiter to have our food in a to go box. Service was exceptionally bad.
The food was ok, but nothing more. The portions were very large. The service could have been better.
My chicken was brown, the taste was disgusting and they refused to change my meal. There was almost no sauce. Usually its chicken strips. They lost me as a customer.
Waited an hour for my food just for them to cancel my order .after they confirmed my order and had the dasher waiting outside, then text me to tell me my order cancelled. After a long day at work I just wanted to eat and it cost me $45 . Ridiculous
Dirty
Usually always a favorite. For the price, good portions and unlimited bread and soup or salad. Italian wedding soup is excellent, with freshly grated parmesan... Yumm! Maybe because of the construction going on around and the loss of parking, but the place seemed less lively than usual.
The service is mostly good. The food is usually ok, but depending on the cook that day, it can be subpar. Update: I have been here a few more times since my last review. However, I dont think I will be going back. Unfortunately, the service is dropping. The food has been burnt each time (Chicken permatian specifically). And for my last visit: Burnt food again. The person I was with, it was their birthday... So I told the server in secret, hoping they would surprise them. I have been going to East Side Marios for years and I know they sing and surprise you with a cupcake or other thing usually. But nothing happened. Maybe they dont do anything for birthdays anymore. Nonetheless, I gave a good tip. I wont be back to this one though.
Service is so slow, waitress did not come to our table often but was fast to pay the bill
We found hair in almost every thing it took almost a hour to get here and are driver was getting a lot of honks and it tastes like garbage so don t get food there you will regret it like us
Food was great, server was kind and courteous.
I was impressed with my first visit! They got really great dishes and the staff is very polite and friendly! Thank you very much for this wonderful experience! I also recommend the cesar salad, not usually a big fan, but this one was really good!
3/5 Reading the comments. I will definitely take a look there the next time I come to Gatineau. East Side Marios is a Canadian casual restaurant chain specializing in Italian-American cuisine. Heres what we know about him: Specialty and atmosphere Cuisine: Classic Italian-American Ambiance: Casual and family-friendly, inspired by Little Italy in New York. Signature dish: All you can eat soup, salad and au gratin garlic bread. Tagline: Hey, budda boom budda bing and A taste of Little Italy Key information Parent Company: Recipe Unlimited Corporation Year opened: 1987 Head Office: Mississauga, Ontario, Canada Number of branches: More than 150 locations across Canada
I ruined my shirt being sat at a table that was covered in butter (difficult to see it). We were then given another table and this one was all sticky. Arms and everything on it would stick to it. Makes me seriously question how hygienic the kitchen is if the dining area, where customers see and sit is in that condition. This was about 2 weeks ago.
Service could have been a bit better soup was forgotten for the whole table after we finished our mains we had to ask about soup it was hard to get servers attention overall pretty good though. And food was delicious. Parking: The parking lot for the mall was under construction which made parking hard to find
We came here for my sons second birthday, he had been asking for pizza for the past few days. It was myself, my partner, our baby and our son. The service was a bit slow at first when we arrived but it picked up around 5 pm. The waitress was very friendly, approachable and helpful. I regret not getting her name to write it here! However, the food was what was lacking. It is not the quantity that is lacking, but the quality, especially the chicken parmigiana. The outside was overcooked (almost burnt) but the inside seemed pinkish, I did not eat all of it. Also we were a bit disappointed that no one sang for our son for his birthday, but I understand they seemed short staffed and I should have maybe called first. We still enjoyed our time, our son was happy and the service was quite friendly, always coming over to offer more bread or salad.
The employee who served me was great! She was alone but managed to serve all the tables! For example, she had so many people! Employers should put more employees on the floor on a Saturday!
Werent given utensils or napkins. Service took forever. Multiple orders ended up wrong. Drink glass had blue goo on it twice after sending it back. Restaurant isnt very clean and at least one of the servers was rude (not the nice girl who served us). They charge for grated cheese... Theres just so much wrong here I would strongly recommend you go somewhere else. Sorry.
Great staff great food amazing service
Coming from the Montreal area, I was very excited to return to an East Side Marios, but this was probably the worst service Ive had. I went there around dinner time on a Saturday. Yes, the waitress was alone, but it took about 25 minutes before we received our glasses of water. Then, since its the all-you-can-eat option, I asked for soup and the famous garlic bread. It took about another 15 minutes before we received anything, even though other customers at other tables had received food. The waitress then comes to check on us and is everything good? (I repeat, we received nothing after more than 30 minutes). Finally, she came back to us about 40 minutes later, because she had forgotten what I had ordered and to tell me that I would have to wait even longer, since they burned my pasta in the kitchen. When I finally received my dish, it was a mini portion of nothing at all. It seems to me that for the price, around $22 or $23, its really not enough. In short, I will avoid this restaurant. We might as well go and encourage the one in Bromont.
The restaurant opened at noon, unlike other restaurants that open 30 mins before so that guests can arrive. Even though the restaurant was almost empty, service seemed to be short staffed. The food was not bad, once it arrived. Even when it opened, the door was locked from the inside, and other guests could not enter.
Tasty food
This gets a one star only because I needed something to rate it. We had a 6pm reservation with kids, sat down by 6:25, waited at our booth for another 20 minutes and walked out. Nobody even noticed. Side note, the table behind us clearly left mid-meal as the plates were full and the clients had left major disappointment and everything around was booked until 7:30-8pm #hungrykids
What a shame to laugh at customers like this by serving an 8$ single bite of cheesecake as desert. What happen to a slice of cake ??? The container with strawberry is bigger than the cake itself. What a JOKE !!!! Awful. Never going back.If I could give zero stars I would.
This is more it was food is excellent but service is zero
Quality food but disorganized atmosphere and terrible service! Few employees for a huge job! A marathon of work for the poor waiters!
The service is very poor and the employees lack maturity
You cant go wrong when you come here, its great! The waiter offers parmesan on absolutely everything, salad or soup included in most dishes. Im impatiently waiting for the liquor machine to be repaired...
The food wasn t good and the service was sooo slow. We went for a quick lunch and were there for TWO HOURS!!
Chicken parmesan was not hot.
I thought Id refresh my review Since its reopening about a month ago I found the menu to be very good And reasonably priced I had the Calzone which was very delicious On the downside the restaurant was very cold I recorded on my phone 14.4° Which is a little chilly for a restaurant at this time of the year but overall excellent service
I went in for lunch yesterday with a friend. It wasnt busy at all, we waited 10 minutes just to get a drink then same to order food. Everytime we needed something we had to flag her down because she never came to check on us. When the food arrived the plates were wrong when said it wasnt the right plate she argued with us that this is what we ordered and we were wrong. We got our appetizers after our meal and said thats how it works when clearly she needs to be trained better. She never asked us if we wanted cheese on our meal we had to ask for it and needed to ask for more drinks ect. Then when we got the bill we told her it wasnt correct she took the bill and crumpled it in our faces. It was the first time I was there and it will be the last. She was so rude and unprofessional. I would get your servers to take a course on how to treat the customers because Jessica was bery disrespectful and wouldnt want anyone else be treated this way.
Yohan was extraordinary! Excellent service! We will come back for Yohan!
Its a Great fun place to enjoy a reasonable priced meal with family and friends.
Not strong I called Thursday December 28 for a reservation on December 31 for 5 a.m. we got there and it was closed
Super good and the service is pleasant
Nice restaurant-Good food. They have options for céliac. I had pizza with gluten-free crust and was really good. Peperoni is also gluten-free. I will go back for sure. Food : 4/5
Excellent restaurant and excellent staff
Exceptional service, manager who listens to customers. Thanks to the team. Dinner was very good. January 13, 2023.
Phew, the place really needs a bad face lift...it looks like nothing has been done to renovate the place in 20 years.. very dated..
Extremely long service. We saw our waitress twice during the meal, once to order and once to pay... even though the salad, bread and soft drink are unlimited. Rubber squid...chicken parmigiana was good.
Just like the good old days, except hardly anyone inside and it needs a major refresh, painting, cleaning, etc.
Dietary restrictions: I have celliac and they were very accommodating for gluten free options. I would definitely recommend!
Vegetarian options: lost of options Dietary restrictions: gluten free friendsly they give a different colour plate Parking: list of parking Kid-friendliness: we are a big group and they are very nice Wheelchair accessibility: no stairs lots of space
Employees all very nice Vegetarian options: Lots of options
Vegetarian options: amazing Dietary restrictions: IMPECABLE Parking: ASTONISHING Kid-friendliness: WOW Wheelchair accessibility: INCREDIBLE
Good
Great food! Awesome service! Vegetarian options: Many options
Good service!
Staff who take care of their customers. Very attentive and cheerful. Ive been coming here since I was young and Im always pleasantly surprised! Parking: Three levels of parking available within a short distance.
When we arrive there we realize that the restaurant is neurovegetative...the waiter is alone but when I say alone it is alone...no one in the kitchen or elsewhere...o t waited 5-10 and they are left no service its awful dont waste a second of your time there...read the other comments and youll see...its awful for real when you get home youll feel/see it...save yourself running...but do just dont go there...
We love this restaurant. The food is excellent! The service is always excellent and the atmosphere is good. You want a good Italian meal, you must try this restaurant. / We love this restaurant. The food is excellent! The service is always great and the atmosphere is good. If you want a good Italian meal, you have to try this restaurant. Parking: Les Galleries de Hull shopping center
Theres no one and it takes 45 minutes to make me a pizza, but thats not what I ordered. Wow a big zero.
Review of the restaurant not bad, just i couldnt use the gift card that was given to me by Eastside Marios to use at Eastside Marios. Apart from that, ordered the large pizza and asked for the all you can eat add on with salad and the bread. Got 2 salads and no bread. Nothing past the 2 salads meaning there werent additional salads provided when the first ones were finished. Maybe sound change the term All you can eat to All were going to give you to eat. Not impressed. 2nd time around giving it a shot.
The Géran of the place is really TOP!
Just went to eat at the restaurant and we had great service the server Sam was super cool and patient with the children 100% good service
Kid-friendliness: Very kid friendly Food
Always super good
The food is good. Service could be improve but our server seemed to be a new guy.
It was not busy with lots of empty tables, we were à party of only 2 people. Was seated fairly quickly however didnt have a single server look at us for 20 minutes. Almost walked out but server finally came and took our drink order. Got my drink wrong, took another 10 minutes to get my drink and she finally took our food order. Almost cancelled our food but it finally arrived 2 minutes before we were going to cancel the food. Never offered more bread or soup while waiting. Had to flag down a hostess to ask for the bill. Server came back with a box for our food and the bill but no machine. Waited another 10 minutes then finally had to get up and go find our server to pay. Terrible experience. Was there for an hour and a half for a simple meal that should have taken 45 minutes max. Never returning.
Very good choice of drinks and food. Spaghetti with tomato sauces and meatballs is always a winner. My daughter has several dietary restrictions and they made sure to accommodate her requests. We had excellent service. They take great care of the children. Kid-friendliness: They are very friendly with children.
15 min before someone comes to the table (quarter full) The waitress took our order but it was the hostess who brought us our meals
Very poorly managed disorganized service We had a reservation for a large group weeks in advance. The restaurant did not put enough tables and chairs together to accommodate our reservation, some of our group had to sit apart. The restaurant had ONE waiter serving a group of 20+ people, plus he had to serve other tables as well. We were seated at 4:30 in a nearly empty restaurant, our food did not get to the table until 6:20! The unlimited garlic bread amounted to a half loaf per person, no refills ever came for bread or salad. No one was offered the supposedly included soup. The children did not get their included kids meal drinks or desserts. The children and a few adults did not receive their meals until most others were half finished eating, making for a lot of impatient ants-in-the-pants kids. My son did not get his parmesan until I was completely finished with my nearly chickenless chicken linguini--$22 a dish is an absurd amount of money for the tiny portions and just okay quality. Oh, and the parking lot is tiny -- I got doored by a careless driver parking next to me before I had gotten my seatbelt off. Parking: Very narrow spots. Heavily patrolled by parking attendants as the government building workers next door tend to try to occupy the lot
Great prices for what you get! Our server was very kind and helpful! I was a little disappointed with my dish, but I think it mightve been more of a matter of personal taste. A nice family-friendly place.
I was very surprised that the waiter took the forks straight out of his jeans pocket. I have never seen such a way of table setting in a restaurant.
Best experience of my life !!
Free garlic bread!!! I love the garlic bread here. Its really good, hot and you get butter with it. You can make your own pasta dish which is what i usually get when i go here. I had meatballs and they are a good size and the sauce was good. You have to order from. A certain section of the menu to unlimited salad/soup and garlic bread. The staff isnt the best but the waiter i had was very sweet and took their time. It was extremely empty when i came here on a Thursday night which is nice if you like a calm vibe but not sure on the other days Parking: In front of the store there are not alot of parkings. 4 pregnancy parking spots.
We heard shouting in the bar section. Not very pleasant when you come to eat to relax with friends
We were very disappointed with the place which is nothing more than the shadow of a snack bar; the atmosphere is disappointing when entering this warehouse. The young staff are very welcoming and helpful but the food has no taste, its bland, you had to be hungry to eat 1/3 of the spaghetti Mario with meatballs. The pizza was overcooked. Its the same flavorless tomato sauce for all dishes. Sadness... Parking: Shopping center.
Worst service ever, I arrive at 6pm with my kids and we received our food at 7:45pm. I am very not happy. The kids are starving I should went to McDonald s.
Visited on a Saturday for a group of 25+. It was empty the whole evening, there might have been 1-2 other tables apart from us which was nice but somewhat surprising. Service was good and as quick as we couldve hoped for given the size of our group. Everyone appreciated their plates and the all you can eat bread & salad. Fits every budget, and has alot of variety for a chain-restaurant. Definetly recommend for large groups or families, not for couples who prefer some quiet. Vegetarian options: Well identified menu for both vegetarian and gluten free options Kid-friendliness: 7 kids enjoyed drawing and being able to wander
Only reason I give a 2nd star is for the beer that was good and the convenience of the location. The food is really bad, frozen past due appetizers, saugy chicken parm with tasteless pasta sauce. Really disapointing, not going back there for sure.
Very disappointed, I took seafood legs, my mussels were still with their beards (hairs), not washed well and the tomato sauce tastes like canned food...really rubbish!! I do not recommend this dish, nor this restaurant! The 2nd and 3rd dishes were just ok, not appetizing! Sorry
We use to come here for their lasagna ( i think it had 6 layers), now for $21 you get 1 1/2 layers (seriously 2 lasagna noodles). When I asked the waiter to take it back, (I ate 3 bites of cheese and sauce) he asked me if I would like something else. I asked for the spegathi instead. When he came back he told me that before he can bring me the spegathi I had to pay for the lasagna as I had eaten about 1/8 of it. What!?? Horrible customer service. Attached is the lasagna my wife had (essentially sauce and cheese). When I asked to speak to the Manager, he said there was no Manager available. Apparently he called the Manager and I had to wait (ar least 20 minutes) I said okay, we will wait for the he or she to come. After 20 minutes, another person with tattoos came to our table, and said the Manager was not coming and that he would remove my lasagna from my bill and said the Manager said to tell me never to come back. Terrible, terrible terrible...This completely made our evening very uncomfortable and stressful . Just horrible, I cant believe this place is still in business.
The waiter was very good. The dish I ate was Alfredo pasta with giant shrimp. The only thing was that the shrimp had tails. I had to remove it to eat my dish, but it was very good.
We had take out delivery
Ok but lacks atmosphere, but I was there at lunchtime but impeccable service Kid-friendliness: Benches everywhere and dishes easy to share
East sides had good times in the past... But now dont even bother sorry Mario. Too expensive, not worth the price Food
The food is very good chicken parmesan wow with the spaghetti but the service is a bit slow and we were not followed by service but still good
0 stars. Came here for my kids graduation supper. Worst experience ever. We arrived at 6:00, it wasnt very busy at all. We didnt get our drinks until 6:30. Ordered our meals and the food never came out. At 7:40 we cancelled the order , paid for our drinks and left.. I understand the post pandemic situation, but making us wait almost 2 hours just to leave hungry is unacceptable. Wont be back.
The bacon in my calzone was raw, even thougb descriptionsaid crispy. I wasnt offered for it to be fixed or asked if Id like something else, and the waitress just left it at the table. I was hungry, so I ate the bread. My partner had to ask multiple times for his soup and salad. He didnt receive any bread until after his meal was done, even though he asked 3 times and it was served with frozen butter. The waitress forgot about us more than once. She didnt ask about drinks when my glass was empty and she spent the majority of the time we were there (a little over an hour and a half) outside vaping and drinking with other staff members, some on duty and some off duty. She only came in when someone out there needed a drink and she did the bare minimum. Overall, it was a horrible experience and I was so disappointed because I was looking forward to going so much as it has been years.
A childrens menu only in English.... They dont have one in French. Welcome to Quebec! Note to self, NEVER GO THERE AGAIN! The lukewarm food and slow service (2 hours) are not worth the detour.
Overcooked noodles and flavorless sauce. Luckily the service was good. Oh yes and hot bread as much as you want too
Wait for food was an hour and a half. When the food finally came, it was luke warm. Bathrooms were absolutely gross with only 1 stall clean enough to use. Was never given a water refill or asked if we wanted further beverages. The desserts for the kids meals were never offered and never given. Such a disappointing experience.
The service sucked..waiting an hour and a half for food that was dissapointing.. didnt even get what i asked for, was missing a 3rd of the ingredients listed in the menu for the dish. ... bathrooms were discusting and 3/4 werent functional. seriously .. dont bother wasting your money there
Went last night at 6:15 p.m. approximately. Waited forever for someone to seat us, or to even acknowledge our party of 3 standing at the door. Finally were seated. At one point the server came over (after we ordered) and said, can I help you? Yes, when is our food coming? The food took an hour and a half to arrive at our table. Server tried his best, but was confused when we tried to order ginger ale for a beverage, and gave us the drink menu to choose from. They were short-staffed. The servers were very polite and apologetic, but inexperienced. Bathrooms were not very clean. However, we almost left several times while waiting. Lasagna was terrible. Linguini was bland. Not going back.
The service was very long! 1 hour wait between ordering and starter + bread served. Still waiting to receive the main course...... Other people arrived after us and we were served before us. Arrive at 6:30 p.m., leave around 9 p.m.! The dishes arrive lukewarm and tasteless! Its a shame the staff is nice but I wont go back for a long time.........
The dirty and seats are not cleaned or disinfected in my opinion. There are food crumbs everywhere. The rest is good
This was our first time here. The food was nice and the service was great. Anya is super nice! Her service was great! Thank you!
Bad service. The salad wasn t fresh and was so cold and mushy. Took forever to get our stuff. Group of people left after waiting 10 mins cause they never got any service. Very disappointed
If I could give this place a big fat ZERO I would. I waited 5 minutes to be seated cause they were clearing tables. 10 minutes for my drinks 20 minutes for my food. 5 minutes for a box to put rest of my daughters and my pasta and over 15 minutes for a bill to the point I walked up to the POC desk just to pay. Do not recommend eating here because its just horrible all together. I look at my bill once I get home and they automatically take a 2.66 tip without your acknowledgement. Which is pathetic, you waste our time and steal our money. No thanks.
Great weeknight deals
Very good and efficient staff. Atmosphere, not many customers, Sunday evening and no music
Just came back. A horrible experience. 1st had to wait almost 20 mins before some looked at us to bring us to table. Then after we ordered it toon 30 mins for our drinks then 30 mins for our salad.. main meal came a hour after that and it was cold. My son got sick and threw up in bathroom which was so dirty.. got our bill so we can leave .. over charged us .. never again.
Went for my 70th. Arrived at 5:30. Water served at 6:15, bread at 6:30 , salad at 6:45 food at 7:15. Some meals were cold and were reheated. Waitress was excellent. Parking: Good
Good service and dishes.
Excellent experience except the service is very slow.
We showed up there, after 10 minutes of waiting to be seated. Still people, two waiters were chatting in the corner and avoiding going through the entrance to avoid us. After we approach one of the two waiters, she tells us that they are just two waiters and that they cannot take us
In general the food is good, the price is affordable. My experience got worse when I paid the bill. The waiter, who must have been from generation Z, asked me for a tip of 18%. The service I received was very ordinary and not exceptional. I left a tip of 15% before taxes or 13% on the TPV, which calculates it after taxes. Which corresponds to a normal tip. The waiter persisted in getting more and it ended with a shouting match from me to him. A tip is not a due, it is earned and there it was not worth 18% or even before taxes. 18% after taxes equals 21% before taxes.
We were a group of 20 people for my birthday last Saturday. The food was delicious, the service was awesome and the atmosphere was perfect! Bravo!!!
Much better than I expected. Food was good, as was the price
As for the cuisine, the cheese sticks were rather lukewarm, more cold than hot as a starter. In addition to having waited more than 1 hour 15 minutes for the main order, 3 out of 6 people did not receive what they ordered. Regarding the service received, our server was very arrogant and preferred to serve the other table next to us rather than seeing to our orders. This is unacceptable from your restaurant and believe me, I would not recommend your establishment to my family or our friends. As for the atmosphere, I give it 2 stars out of 5. Please note that this took place yesterday, at 6:00 p.m. at 320 Boul. Saint-Joseph in Hull. No compensation was offered to us. Parking: I would say more parking for disabled people (4 spaces) and for families (+ 4 spaces). Considering the people who park to go to Galerie de Hull, this doesnt leave much space for the restaurant. Is not it!
Chicken parm always my favorite!!! Yesterday my little family and I went for dinner and it was busy but our service was really bad, we havent gotten the free garlic bread and had to ask for it and ask for our salads. On top of that we got an apple juice for my daughter, we noticed the cup still had chocolate milk on it, super disgusting
A reservation for 10 people was made a few days before the dinner date. Arriving there, we were informed that there was no reservation note and despite the restaurant being empty, there was no way to pick us up.
Thank you very much for the good service Mathilde. The food was great!! Me and my friends had fun.
The waitress did her best to serve us as expected but the kitchen did not provide. We had a reservation for 12 p.m. and we left at 2:15 p.m. without having eaten with our lunch to bring. It was so cold that we had to keep our coats on, we asked to turn up the heating or turn down the air conditioning (December 14) but the waitress told us that she was not allowed to touch at the thermostat (not his fault). Bad management and after complaints the owner didnt even come down to see us. Very disappointed and it was for a Christmas party. They told us that if we had booked it would have been different. (We had reservations 3 weeks in advance.) So this is not a restaurant to recommend.
Arrived with two young kids - when we had questions about the gluten free options the staff kindly went to make ingredient inquiries in the kitchen, came back with answers then said would send the waitress back to take our order. We then waited another 15-20 mins before anyone came back to the table by then we were behind 4 -5 other table orders that had been placed. We waited another 25-30 mins to get our food. The kids were tired and hungry and impatient by now. When it was brought out the waitress dropped one entire meal with red sauce on my husband! She left the Parmesan grinder in the table instead of offering it and grinding it up for us. When I asked where the dipping sauce was for the chicken fingers she said you didnt ask for it. My reply was simple. Didnt think I had to. Its chicken fingers! Nobody ever came to clean up the floor beside our table that was covered in red pasta sauce from the plate drop. Nobody refilled our water and nobody came to check on us during the meal or to bring us the bill. It was a very quiet Saturday afternoon with about 7-8 tables of guests total. After waiting another 25 mins or so at the end and nobody checking on us we got our coats and boots on and only then did the waitress come back to give me the bill. I was charged for the two kids drinks. I said arent they included with the meals? . Her reply was no - which is incorrect....we have been going to this restaurant for years but this was the absolute worst service we have ever had. I told the waitress that at the very least the manager should have come over to offer my husband a free meal for her dropping food on him. She shrugged, apologized and said she was new. Then proceeded to charge me too much for our meal. Her training is clearly lacking and the supervision is sub par. I told her we would not be coming back and she apologized again. Should management choose to reach out Id be happy to offer some suggestion on how to train your front end staff on how to manage situations like this. Your brand new server should have known to get someone more experienced to help her when I was complaining in person at the end. We have no intentions of wasting our time and money at this restaurant again and by the reaction of the staff it would seem they dont care Dietary restrictions: Have some gluten friendly options that have always been fine
Menu says all you can eat,, salad , soup and garlic bread. Not salad or soup or Garlic bread. When ordering, I ordered the all you can eat, soup, salad and garlic bread. And also The Wednesday special, which specified, all you can eat ,choice of pasta dish. I ordered spaghetti and meat balls. Mind you the main dish was delicious, but when I inquired about the soup, salad and garlic bread. The waitress said it was , was either soup or salad or garlic bread. I proceeded to point out on the menu ,that said soup, salad and garlic bread. The menu did NOT read, soup OR salad OR garlic bread. so I didnt get the salad I ordered soup. At the end after eating we had to chase down a waitress to pay for our over charged meal... I should of been charged only the all you can eat main dish ,and not for the all you can eat soup,,salad and garlic bread. I should of been just charged for the main dish and a soup, because she didnt bring me salad and garlic bread like I wanted. I used to love East side Marios for their food and service, in its former glory... it still has great food... just the waitress need to be trained properly ... instead of bouncing g up and down like an unruly puppy.
Restaurant not even close to being full and told us to leave, there were 4 of us, ridiculous, not looking good, but left the others in front of us to sit down
Correct atmosphere. Slow service. Ordinary pizza but calzone was worth it!
Food was great but service was wayyyyy too long. Waitress was great as well but waited too long for my meal and ended up having to take it to go.
Seriously what is this place they refuse people due to a lack of staff. What do I do? I eat my hand. In short, I dont think Ill go back there again. It was to please my wife. Fallen pleasure. Thank you Mario from the East, next time if you are not welcome just register it at the door. I am ready to do mean things to please him but here I felt like I was embarrassing myself. Hello Mario vafranculo
Food and service more or less pleasant! This time so rather pleasant and with fast and courteous service. The food was good! Parking: Very large parking lot in front and then another behind the shopping center!
Garbage service, arrived at 5 pm. It s now 6:36 and still Not served. No kids menues. Nothing for the kids to colour on like before. Restaurant isn t even busy and yet they re behind
Bad/Slow service, kitchen screwed up our plates and they had to remake them. The pizza was decent but the pasta was worse than a pack of pasta and sauce from Costco. Errors on the bills where a 1.99$ extra chicken on a pizza turned into 5.99$. Staff tried their best but something is REALLY wrong with the place from what I experienced. Another restaurant that just isnt what it used to be back in the 2000s. Take your money elsewhere.
Three good!!
Pleasantly surprised, good food from salad to fish, pasta and pizza P.S. Next door there is a creamery with good gelatos
First time and last time I go to this place.. I was with my parents and my 4 year old brother... We waited 45 minutes for our dinner, our meal was cold and the staff was talking behind the counters instead of working...
Very slow service, meal was not hot.
Parking: Plenty of parking Wheelchair accessibility: I did not see any wheelchair obstacles during my visit.
in line with expectations
Excellent!
Their bread and butter is legendary
Tasty food, very good service Vegetarian options: Dishes without meat Parking: Large free parking Kid-friendliness: Childrens menu available Wheelchair accessibility: No steps or ramps
The food was really good, the waitress was kind and funny, service was a tiny bit slow
Big plates and tasteful. Staff was extremely kind. I d recommend. Sure, I ll came back.
Waiting time much too long to take your order and bring it to you, but not many customers inside! Good food, nothing more, but cold. Room for improvement.
Exceptional service! Lots of staff on the floor. In these times of labor shortage, its good to see that! Made the trip to Laval to satisfy my taste for the past. The house salad, garlic bread and Chicken Tetrazzini linguine dish were as good as I remembered!
Updated after our recent visit. Very nice server. Ordered the scallop carbonara and unfortunately the scallops were either over cooked and like rubber or undercooked (not sure how that happens). Our server went above and beyond to resolve the issue and removed from bill. I enjoy this restaurant but they are gravely understaffed. Salad came out after our meals. Thanks again to our server she did her very best with what she was given considering I think she was the only server for the entire restaurant. Bathrooms are like using the bathroom at a arena, urine soaked floors to the point my feet stuck to the floor. Unlike my last review I dont think we will be back. (09/17/2022) Unfortunately waited awhile for our waitress but once she arrived was a true pleasure and very good at her job. Food was great. Restaurant is clean and a calm atmosphere. Definitely will visit again. Thank you.(04/15/2022)
Service a bit slow but the food is amazing my kids love this place and will always support them
Pasta to die for Try the chicken tetrazzini yummm
Ive been there twice this weekend and even though it says open until 10 p.m., the doors are locked. If you have decided to close on weekends, at least indicate this on your site as well as on the door.
This has happened twice in recent days. The website and the schedule posted on the door indicate open from 11:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. On the other hand, when I arrive there in the middle of the afternoon, the door is double locked, no light. Sad. I understand that we may want to close certain days, certain times but it would be good for customers to be informed. At the same time as me, 3 other people showed up. All regulars.
Soup and vegetables cold. We asked for a lemon and the waitress brought it in her hands without putting it on a plate. Asked for a Shirley Temple and it came wrong. This is not the first time having bad time in this place, thought it was going to be good this time. Definitely not recommended.
First of all, we were seated on a defective seat. The benches were coming apart which was unpleasant, but the waitress kindly moved us places. Then the service was very bad. On their site, there are promotions that they are not even aware of. They were unable to explain the details to us. After that, many mistakes and oversights from the waitress. We received nothing at our table. She was very confused and kept forgetting to place our orders. We received our main plate, over an hour after arriving and they arrived cold! We were extremely patient throughout the evening. However, when paying, the invoice included several errors. I tried to explain nicely to the waitress, but she didnt understand anything. I was charged additional fees for toppings whose extra prices I did not know, because she was unable to tell us before our order. She even told me in an unpleasant tone <I told you Ive only been here 3 weeks, what do you want me to do>. Which was a great lack of professionalism even though we had been very, very patient with her. His behavior was inappropriate and it greatly displeased me. Honestly, worst experience Ive had in a restaurant. I have never received such service. Extremely unpleasant and shameful. We wont be going back there, thats for sure. I strongly advise against it!
Fast, great, lunch special fantastic
Good food. Good service.
A well established restaurant in town with a good reputation. A good choice of typically Italian dishes, both starters and main courses. Always be aware that there is a labor shortage within the industry and therefore be patient and courteous with existing staff. Despite some minor shortcomings in the kitchen, the evening went very well. Hats off to our waitress who did her best.
Unsatisfied with the cooking of the chicken wings, very fatty and undercooked. Some Labatt products were missing from inventory. The service wasnt great considering it wasnt very busy and the wait time was long.
A little old now....needs a refresh. Small menu, and not always fully available. Lots of soup or bread with your meal! Kid-friendliness: With kid menu and weekend deals
Great service with a nice atmosphere. Would go back.
Great thank you
They were busy with delivery orders, so we had to wait an extra 10 minutes but that was not a big deal. Server was excellent a very personable young lady, and served us in both French and English. Food was excellent, very tasty and hot. The Parmigiano veal sandwhich is amazing!! Highly recommend this location when you are in Gatineau.
Worst restaurant experience ever. Had reserved for 5:15pm (9 peoole including 3 kids). Latest guests arrived at 5:40 pm. Waitress came to take our order at around 6:00pm. Waitress came to tell us, at 6:30, that there would be an additional 40 minutes wait time as restaurant was full. She had bad client service and was full of attitude. We asked that kids get served immediately as they were starving (2x5 years old and a 20 months old). Adult plates got served at past 7pm. One guest didnt get his order before 7:20pm (last one to receive his plate) and it was the wrong order. We left the restaurant without him eating. The one positive thing is that the full table was free, but still the worst experience ever and will never go back there ever again.
Horrible service .... Not worth it.
Went here with my 3 year old niece and two others. Service was AWFUL! They never came to check on us we did not get utensils (had to find my own), nor asked about refilling our drinks (water and alcoholic beverages). We were not offered more bread or salad and took about 1 hour for our meals. This was all around 5pm and it was not visibly busy. Waiter are young and spend more time chatting. DO NOT RECOMMEND!!!! Let s not forget about the brown veggies!!!
Very slow service. We went for dinner on Friday October 7, this restaurant was recommended to me, I was very disappointed with the service when we arrived they sat us on a bench, I was seated with an 18 month old child and my daughter. They came to see us after 30 minutes, serving us hot bread but no utensils. They came to take our order after 45 minutes. Very long, especially when you are with a child in the evening. Luckily the beef was good and the waitress was very polite at least.
Service not bad but food was awful! Soup taste Lipton, kids hamburger was hard, my daughter didnt eat it. I ordered calamari was overcooked like rubber. Not coming back for sure! So disappointing
Absolutely horrible. Everyone standing around. No one even knows what time they are open until. Sat down ordered a beer waited for 10 mins and still no beer, just lots of servers and cooks walking around doing absolutely nothing... So I left and went to Baton Rouge and got served right away... Im shocked this place is still open
Food was amazing!!!! Server was the manager I think and the service was super great:)
No service
Very slow service, little service, 2 hours of waiting and no one in the restaurant
First of all it took 2 hours until we got our food. We were a big group and we planned the reservation a week before. They were aware and still gave us the worst waitress..most of the plates were cold and so much mistakes were made during the serving It was so bad, I m never coming back here again
Very nice welcome, very good service from our waitress Jessie St Denis, good price and everything was delicious
Every time we go to this restaurant we are satisfied with the quality and quantity of the meals. Plus, the customer service is fantastic. Good vegetarian meals! :) Vegetarian options: Several options are vegetarian. If they are not, sometimes modifications are made to non-vegetarian meals so that a vegetarian person can eat them.
Arrived at 7:00 p.m., 20 people in the restaurant had been sitting for 24 minutes and no one came to take our order. Yet 4 employees pass by us and even with no service signs.
