Located in the Five Points neighborhood in Huntsville, AL, we combine historic traditions with a lively, friendly atmosphere. We are committed to providing distinctive New American cuisine prepared with a focus on the freshest ingredients
Excellent brunch menu and great service. I had the panko breaded chicken breast. It was crisp and delicious. Also, they have many vegetarian options. Overall, it was a very good brunch experience.
Fabulous brunch spot! Service was great, food was exceptional, local beer on tap. Miranda heard I was lactose intolerant and helped me make excellent choices.
The food was very good! We had the stuffed trout and salmon and they were both phenomenal. Loved the fried green tomatoes. The waiter was amazing, atmosphere is great. I can't believe I've lived here as long as I have and have never been here! We will definitely go back
Had a reservation for four on a Saturday night at 1900. The place was super busy but service was still terrific. The martini selection has something for everyone as the did wine list. The fried green tomatoes as an appetizer were fantastic....served with goat cheese and a jelly (can't remember what fruit). Seriously, if you like fried green tomatoes, as any southerner should, do not miss these. The pic below is of the short rib....it was as tasty as it looks. I had the scallop special, and the creamy grits were downright luxurious. It had been a while since visiting 1892....it's now on the rotation list again after a great experience.
Went here for my boyfriends and I’s dating anniversary. The place is classy and has a very intimate atmosphere. All of the staff were polite and even wished us a happy anniversary on our way out. I had the Elderberry martini as my drink which was phenomenal. We started with fried green tomatoes and for my meal I got the Salmon. If you like fried green tomatoes, you HAVE to get these. These were amazing!!
We ate lunch here. The food was good, but the service was slow and it was a little noisy. I had the fried green tomato BLT and my husband had the brisket sandwich. The BLT came with an interesting mushroom aioli sauce. They both came with more fries that we could possibly eat. We came here today for lunch. My friend had the burger which she said was delicious. I had the Korean fried chicken sandwich that came with a spicy Korean sauce and a white sauce. The sauces were amazing, and although the chicken was tasty, it was tough. I would have probably sent it back, but our server didn’t appear again until we were ready to pay.
Excellent service with a cozy atmosphere. The beef tenderloin was tender enough to cut with a fork, juicy perfectly cooked, and burst with flavor. I was skeptical of the panko fried green maters (generally, I don't like panko batter), but this chef pulled it off and changed my mind. The onion jam was an amazing addition to the maters and the cheese board. Plenty of draft beer, wine options, and a full bar is available.
Heard about this quaint restaurant from a friend of my husbands so we decided to check it out. Let me tell you, it is a hidden gen. It's so simple and beautiful inside. We had a great table in a corner places diagonally between two huge windows. The hostess and waiter were so sweet, knowledgeable and welcoming. The drinks were delicious, the tomato soup with fresh mozzarella and both my husband and my entree were cooked to perfection. My husband had the tenderloin and I had the chicken breast. We will definitely be back! Thank you guys for the delicious meal and wonderful experience!
The food is always excellent
Classic food, great atmosphere, ample parking (across the street) and vegetarian friendly!
Great service. Enjoyed brunch!
Great food, good atmosphere and service. A little bummed they were out of chicken for dinner but otherwise it was all good.
I went to this restaurant a few weeks ago and the service was great and food was amazing.
The food was fantastic and it all came out on time. The waiter we watched take food to the wrong table 5+ times we just got lucky I guess. Prices are fair as well
Exceptional food and the best burger in Huntsville, but you can only get it during lunch! Vegetarian options: Their vegetarian offerings are always well rounded and delicious
Sadly the food was all sadly pretty terrible with the exception of the dessert. Stuffed trout was overdone with nothing more than a couple of limp onion slices instead of stuffing. The broccolini was so hard the table knife was needed to try to cut off some. The succotash was pretty good though. The green beans with the second entree were also too hard and the BBQ shrimp was killed by being overly seasoned. There was only one server for all the tables too so will not complain about the lack of service she was just over extended though very sweet. For the price especially this place was a big disappointment as we had heard a few years ago that it was really good. Its definitely gone downhill if that was ever true.
Upscale casual lunch. It was my first visit, but I ll definitely be back. The servers were friendly and attentive, but didn t hover. I plan to come back for dinner soon. This would be a great date night spot when my wife and I get a night out without the kids.
Good brunch southern food, service was a bit slow..
Try it once and not sure if I will return
Delicious food and great service. Frittata was incredible. Look forward to returning again and again. Highly recommended for great dining experience.
Always so good. Ive had about the whole menu and they are all winners
Nice atmosphere and service. Food was great! Grilled Mahi, mmmwha! Food : 5/5
Quiet, good food but a limited selection
Overall great experiences for brunch and lunch. Can be a little pricey, but it is worth it, in general. Staff is also great, friendly and attentive. Dinner didnt really meet expectations though. Coffee brisket was definitely subpar as compared to the rest of the dishes. Thankfully we were warned by the server and got the sauce on the side, but since the chef made sauces per order, there was no choice of getting a different side sauce. Therefore the briskets became cold and dry.
We went here for Mother s Day, and we really had a great time. The food was delicious!
Great meal, good service
We have been back several times
This was our first time here; we will definitely be back! Everything was perfect. I highly recommend!
My wife and I have been several times since our first visit. Enjoyed the food very much, the chef was very skilled and trout being hard to cook he did an amazing job. My wifes meal was excellent as well. We had a server named Zoë Williamson she was very knowledgeable about the menu and the drinks you guys have there. She was top notch. The second time we came our server was a young lady named Lauren Wright she too was excellent. Not sure where you got them with help being so hard to find. They made our dinner very pleasant. Sincerely Charlie & Candy Williamson
My chicken pasta was great and it even heated up well the next day! Strongly recommend!
The food was great. It was amazing. Service was horrible. Waited 10 minutes for a waiter to take our drank order. After our food was given to us. We ordered drinks that we never received. We just gave up. But the food was good.
My cocktail was good and the waiter was extremely friendly. The food however was extremely bland. The chicken tasted like the only thing they did to it was boil it. Barely any gravy. The bread was lukewarm. We will not be back.
Very cute and great brunch spot! Will return!
Food was very good, not overly complex, but also no boring. Wine election was decent. The atmosphere is a lot like the food, not overly complex or fancy but not boring either. Service was friendly and engaging. However, it lagged at times and I found it odd that some servers were dressed overly casual. The overall vibe of the restaurant was that it wanted to be fine dining, it was not quite hitting the mark. More of a comfortable place and less of a place I would take a first date or business meeting. I will eat there again.
My family and I ate here while vacation. The initial impression was good. The atmosphere was inviting, even though everyone agreed the restaurant was so dim you can barely see your food. The restrooms were clean. We ordered around 5:15 and had a party of 4 adults and 3 children. They do not have a childrens menu, and the only childrens meal offered is grilled chicken and french fries. Honestly, the childrens meals ended up tasting better than our food. Our meal took over an hour to come out. There was little excuse for this considering the menu offered less than 10 options. I had Seitan, which I had never tried. It was essentially a thick moist bread similar in consistency to french toast. It could have been good properly prepared. It was served tasteless on a bed of dry rice mixed with what seemed to be the worst black eyed peas Ive ever had. Topping that off were grilled red tomatoes, which would have tasted reasonably good, had they been de-stemmed. My wife had stuffed trout and it was mediocre at best. It was served with whole chunks of bitter cooked lemons. My mother in law had beef tips and they were cooked properly, but had no seasoning. Our party included 7 with the children and as such an automatic gratuity was added to our bill. I dont think Ive eaten anywhere that included an automatic gratuity at such a low table threshold (6). I think this contributes to poor service. I would have probably tipped 10% had I been given the option. The restaurant was not busy at all and our service was almost as mediocre as the trout. The gentleman waiting on us was polite, but distracted and we had to ask for additional rolls and even refills of water. I normally like to tip 25-30% or more at a nice meal on vacation, but this service didnt warrant such a tip. All in all, I strongly suggest anyone reading this to choose a different restaurant. This one is a bust.
Very nice place for dinner / date night. Great food, great service and not too pricey.
Anna provided excellent recommendations and I would recommend to anyone in the Huntsville area.
Had a reservation at 6:45. Sat down immediately but the server took longer than normal to take our orders. Then our food took 2 hours to get to our table, from appetizers to entrees total time at the table was 3 hours. This was completely unacceptable and our server even made a joke that dessert would come out faster! Lol. Food was also below average. I wouldn t recommend this place to anyone trying to enjoy quality food.
Recommend reservations if it is busy, holidays, local events. We really liked. Waitstaff well trained and gave best service. Food very good. Quiet and romantic. Friday night. Parking: Kind of out of the busy parts of Huntsville. Tucked away you might say. Wheelchair accessibility: Did not see booth. Plenty of moveable chairs.
If you are looking for a more upscale place with good food, don t waste your time. Even with a reservation and promptly ordering our food we spent about 3 hours here. Over 30 minutes to get a single drink (which the waiter spilled) and almost an hour before a side Caesar salad came out on top of waiting an additional hour for the main course. All of our food was average and not worth the price. Personally I had the short rib, which the waiter said was one of the best things on the menu. I ve had short rib many times and this one was overcooked, dry, and did not melt in my mouth. In addition, the table with kids next to decided it was ok to play YouTube videos on full volume while throwing food, screaming and breaking glasses. This didn t help our experience. Honestly very disappointed because we had high hopes when checking 1892 out online. Unfortunately we will not be returning and would like a refund, overall just a very very bad experience.
We recently had an office team lunch at 1892 East with outstanding results! The restaurant worked with us to schedule then change dates for our group to come and have a private room. Everyone loved their food. The service was great. It all ran smoothly, the private room made it so much more enjoyable, and everyone had a good time with a delicious meal. Vegetarian options: The mushroom pot pie is delicious and filling
Really did not enjoy the meal served, and the service was very slow.
Great meal tonight. The tenderloin was cooked perfectly to order and served hot. The server checked on us but wasnt intrusive. Very pleasant evening.
good for a huntsville working dinner / private room.
Great food and drinks. Timothy was a fantastic bartender. Id recommend making a stop here if youre in Huntsville. Cant go wrong with the fried green tomatoes!
Name names
The food is always great and the staff act like they actually care. Attentive service from friendly folks.
We used to really enjoy their brunch but our last 2 experiences havent been good. Today we ordered the southern breakfast and it came with fries instead of breakfast home fried potatoes as listed on the menu. No one bothered to tell us why. The service was very slow. We brought out of town guests and were apologizing for the bad service. We will be trying other places!
Very good food and service
Our fried shrimp appetizer was icy and raw, in the middle. That probably should have given us a clue to leave. My spouse ordered the shrimp entree for dinner and it came with tails, which would have been fine, but it came covered in a tomato sauce that tasted just like Prego. So it was pretty messy to eat. We wont be going back.
Ive been coming to this place for many years and have enjoyed it, but I was disappointed during my last visit for brunch. The server was nice, but the service itself wasnt great. We had to ask for utensils and straws multiple times. We also had to ask for the mimosas that come with your brunch meal multiple times, to the point that I cancelled my additional drink order. It wasnt extremely busy at the time either. We came at opening, 11AM. The chicken was under seasoned and the eggs had a strange aftertaste. Maybe Ill try again in a few months to see if things are back to what I remember.
Vegetarian options: There were two vegan options, tofu and seitan. Food
Really pleasant experience for a company Christmas party. Thanks for a great lunch
Friendly staff and great food!! We love it every time we come!
Food was perfectly prepared and absolutely delicious. Nice atmosphere plus very friendly service. Highly recommend!
Their food is always delicious and the atmosphere is very welcoming. Service was a little slow, but we were there on New Years Eve, so that was expected and it didnt tarnish our experience in any way. Kid-friendliness: Its a nice restaurant but I would take my kids there if they were well behaved.
Had a very good meal here. Nice ambiance whether you sit at the bar or a table. Had the brisket which was excellent but I must say tasted very different from the New York style that I am used to. But it was a nice change. Also the salmon was perfectly cooked and over a very nice sized portion of succotash. Oh. Don t forget to finish your meal with the chocolate mousse (or pot de crème). Great service too.
The appetizer Crispy Shrimp & Grits were very good, shrimp stuffed with grits! I had The Apple & Brie Salad - crisp and delicious followed by the roasted chicken breast with mashed potatoes and seasonal veggies, juicy and tender. My spouse had a Caesar Salad which he enjoyed, the stuffed trout which was beautiful and delicious as well, served with potatoes and broccolini.
Good food and service. Friendly staff. I went for the Sunday brunch and got the Caesar salad and chicken fried chicken. It was a lot of food for the money. I would definitely go back and have no complaints at all.
The food and service are always good. Its a neighborhood restaurant and appears hidden, but its easy to find and inviting.
Great atmosphere and beautiful! They couldnt get us hot food with a second try and the third try we just ate it cold ...although I didnt drink alcohol it seemed that was their specialty and they probably do amazing at that because the selection was incredible....
5 star food service food so testy
Service is great and they have a reasonably priced corking fee if you bring your own bottle of wine. The cocktails were sooo sweet (which could be a good or bad thing depending on your preference). I got the brisket with espresso glaze and I didn t like the glaze. It was bitter and sweet and took away from the juiciness and tenderness of the brisket. The sides were great though.
What a great place! Held a small event, here. Beautiful space, food was dynamite, staff was incredibly helpful and friendly. Will definitely go back, again and again!
Great food, not over priced. I had the trout and my wife had the steaks tips both dishes were cooked to perfection. The cheese plate appetizer was filled with locally sourced cheeses and in house made onion marmalade. Absolutely will try again.
Our first time eating here. Our waiter was attentive and friendly. My salmon cooked perfectly, beef tenderloin so delicious as well.
Excellent place for brunch! Our server was great and super friendly. I would suggest that you call a couple of days before for a reservation. Definitely we will be back
Lovely restaurant in a charming neighborhood. They dont have a TV. That means that you dont get distracted and the food and atmosphere are fantastic!
I have eaten at 1892 many times and was looking forward to taking visiting friends to enjoy my favorite restaurant. The drinks were amazing, the server was amazing, but the food was not up to the usual standards. I had the special, the blackened Mahi and it was perfect. But it was the only perfect meal out of 6. One person ordered the brisket and it looked very much like school cafeteria pot roast. 2 people ordered shrimp and grits. They were served what looked like fried shrimp. Maybe the grits were baked inside? But there was no taste to them at all. This was absolutely not the normal experience, but my friends will not eat there again. I will because I hope this was just a bad night and not the way things will be going forward.
After reviewing several menus in Huntsville online, we decided to go to 1892 East. We were promptly seated at dinner time on a Saturday evening. We had the trout Hemingway and the pork Ragu. The pork Ragu could not have been improved upon. The polenta cake that came with it was amazing. The only criticism that I have about the trout is that I was hoping it would be more flavorful, more stuffing perhaps. For dessert we had the dark chocolate custard which was one of the best desserts ever! I cannot wait to go back. Highly recommend.
Steak was cooked perfectly. Cheese platter was good especially goat cheese. NOLA shrimp is very filling. Server (Mike) was kind and get helpful. Another hidden gem in Huntsville. Definitely check this place out!
We ate there last night and it was delish! Tim, our waiter is ALWAYS so nice and helpful. He definitely spoiled us. He recommended beef tenderloin and it was a wonderful choice. Do yourself a favor and support this fabulous restaurant, you wont be sorry. Ask for Tim!
I cant believe I havent reviewed 1892 East before now. I wish we lived closer so we could eat here more often. All I can say is that the owners, managers, cooks, and servers must love their jobs, because they do it perfectly every time. Pick anything on the menu and it will come out perfectly. The filet is exceptional; always cooked a fantastic mid-rare (the way I order it). Tonight I had the founder flounder special. Came with tarragon and parsnip mashed potatoes and also green beans. The whole dish was amazing. Our server, Micah, was excellent. I cant recommend 1892 East highly enough. Go as soon as possible.
The tomato soup was disappointing but they made up for it with a wonderful trout Hemingway which Id never heard of before but its a real dish and it was delicious
This place is underrated. I give it a 5.0. Service was great and friendly, and food options were very well explained. The food tastes great and is very fresh.
Food was good. Waiter ..tall guy with curly was great. No issues...a little pricey.
It is my first time here, and definitely will not be my last. I really love the foods! Everything I ordered were absolutely delicious. I had the tenderloin which was so juicyyy by the way. And I had the shimp and grits which taste sooo good. I also commend the area itself, very comfortable. I really cant wait to go back here!
The best place for our office of 7 to regularly go to for lunches out. Satisfies everyone from the carnivore to the vegetarian. The coffee and deserts are good enough alone for the trip..
went because they had impossible burger on their menu. it was not clear that menu is only served during lunch. staff was polite, however.
This is based on ONE visit, so know that. REALLY like the place. The space itself is ok, but staff and menu knocked it out of the park. An interesting menu, well executed. We had goood salads accompanied by HOT fresh yeast rolls. My wife had salmon with spinach spaetzle- I had braised brisket wuth sweet potatoes. All VERY good at a great price. WHY wasnt this place packed with a waiting line? Dunno. Nice crowd, though. Cant miss this place.
We were celebrating a friends 80 th birthday. The 4 of us had a good time. The food, not so much. A long wait and it was cold. Need I say more. Yes, it cost too much. Too bad we used to like it here. Parking: Got a good spot especially because it was drizzling.
Great brunch options; great chicken and waffles! One of the best around! Highly recommend!
Service and food was great....restrooms need improvement
If I have time for lunch downtown, this is first choice. 2days a week is not enough.
The fried green tomatoes stole the show for me. Oh wow. It came with a crème fresh and caramelized sweet onion marmalade! It was the best thing I ve had this trip. I plan to attempt to make this at home. I asked if they sell this or buy elsewhere. It is in house made and will in the future have it for sale, not right now. So sad. Yum. I also ordered the shrimp. Nothing special. However the shrimp was cooked perfectly and the polenta was delish.
Great place for lunch.
Great food.
Interesting and innovative food at quite reasonable prices. Fried green tomatoes and goat cheese followed by an extraordinary tender tenderloin
Came here as part of a wedding rehearsal dinner group this past weekend. It was a group of about 20-25 people. The bride had made a reservation for the private group dining room. Apparently there was two reservations with a similar name that evening. Instead of giving our group the private room that was reserved, they gave it to the other group. Our group was crammed into a smaller dining area and had little room to move or talk to each other comfortably. I asked for an extra chair, as we weren t provided with enough, but I was told that I could not have one. We had to cram even further into the bench to make room. The waiter appeared to act like we were bothersome to him, or he was overly nervous. One of us asked if we could have a small piece of steak added to a salad, and he acted like he had just been asked to repaint the Sistine Chapel. He said he would check with the kitchen and then came back and said We can do it, I just went ahead and charged you for the $30 steak entree on top of the salad, but I m not going to bring you any of the sides that come with the steak . Another one of us ordered a Salmon entree, but the waiter forgot to add it, so it was brought out shortly before we left. Never got any drinks refilled either. The waiter blamed the issues on somebody calling out sick. The food was good, but the service was sub-par for what seemed like a nice restaurant. I was more angry that my friend s had their rehearsal dinner messed up because they weren t given the private dining room they reserved.
We had a really good experience dining here. We made reservations so we didn t have to wait, the place was packed on a Friday night. The staff is very friendly, and the service was quick. We ll definitely be back.
I personally think the price point was high for the steak it was very small. Food tasted ok, waiters great. It is trying to be classy, but it truly isnt. The ceiling was literally black through all of the vents. I love supporting local businesses, and I wont be back. Bread was on point, though ! Brisket was great !
My new favorite restaurant. This little gem tucked away in the Five Points area has been phenomenal. Second visit in as many weeks, and another awesome experience. The tenderloin and potato croquettes were fantastic. Steak was tender and cooked perfectly. Have also had the salmon and the pan seared trout, both were also excellent. Micah was my server on both occasions and did a great job. I will ask for him every time I visit. They also have a nice martini list that I will continue working my way through, but so far the Elderberry is at the top.
Best filet mignon ever
Great meal with good friends. We had the Trout, Salmon, Portobello, and Tofu dishes. All excellently prepared. Would recommend. Food : 5/5
Excellent date night restaurant with attentive service and great local-sourced food!
This was our 2nd time and the food was FANTASTIC! Our waiter Barret was perfect. Very attentive and friendly. Got out orders exactly right. Will be back! Parking: Parking against the building and across the street Wheelchair accessibility: Everything was flat, easy to navigate, wide isles
Its a great place but not classy or fancy as the price initials. If you want healthy great food then this is the place. But the atmosphere is not giving date night or special events.
The food is always great as is the service. This is where we celebrate anniversaries, birthdays, and just eating! Wheelchair accessibility: Easy entrance along with handicap parking
Wonderful little tavern in Huntsville serving fresh farm to table meals. The tomato soup is to die for. Cannot wait to go back.
Food was decent. Needed more seasoning. It was a bit bland but overall good.
Excellent food, but service was subpar and made us wait for much longer than we were supposed to.
Might be my new favorite. For one simple reason: I can hear. Relaxed but not too casual. Good food. Good service. The whole party was happy. Wife had the braised brisket, friend had the trout and I had the Cajun pasta. Solid all the way around. Craft beers, a good wine list and a nice selection of cocktails. We shared a nice cheese plate (could have used more crackers) and we shared a couple of desserts. As you might imagine, an older crowd. But I was so happy to have a nice meal and still be able to hear the dinner conversation that I dont care if anyone thinks Im one of the older crowd. Very pleasant and we will certainly be back. Parking: Street parking and an additional lot across the street.
Very much enjoy 1892 perfect place to take friends and visitors.
A true Huntsville hidden treasure. We come here for special events and have always been pleased with the service. The staff is quite nice and attentive, and they are eager to share their advice for what to order.
We were taken care for the evening by Ms.Kylie. So generous to have customized my drink, which was not on menu. Restaurant serves best, Fried Green Tomato We loved the place!
The staff are friendly and very respectful. The food was tasty. Cozy atmosphere.
Went for my friends birthday dinner with a party of 19. The waiter was kind. HOWEVER, the food was not palatable or appetizing, nor was the plating of the food appealing. We spoke to the manager respectfully and were responded with a terrible attitude and we were told that we could leave. The attitude and the manner with which we were spoken to was absolutely outrageous. If 19 people with several different orders are telling you that something is wrong with your food, clearly there needs to be a change.
1892 East Ruined My Birthday :(( First of all, I had created a reservation with the restaurant via phone earlier that week for Friday night (the night I had put on my invitations). Later that day, the restaurant called me back and cancelled my reservation without any warning or recommendation on how to make it right. I then called back of my own volition to reschedule for Saturday night. Things were already off to a bad start because some friends were no longer able to celebrate with me because of the date change. Fast forward to the night of my birthday. Mind you, the restaurant refused to let me make a 7:00 reservation despite there not being any other reservations booked for that time. They insisted it be at 7:30. They failed to mention, however, that the kitchen would close 30 minutes after our arrival. So much for ordering dessert! When the food came out, I had actually excused myself to the bathroom. Imagine my surprise when I returned to hear from all 18 of my guests that they strongly disliked the food. I was told that the Caesar salads were salty and soggy, the chicken tasted like McDonalds, the seitan was dry with an unappetizing sauce...and the list goes on. One of my guests asked the waiter (Jordan, who was the only bright spot in our whole experience) if they could speak to someone regarding their concerns. MIKE the manager came out, and my friend very gently and respectfully shared that none of us were satisfied with our meal. Mike immediately escalated the situation and ordered us to, and I quote, get out! He said he had been serving the food all night and everyone had enjoyed it. He raised his voice at us despite how kindly we were approaching the situation. We all stated that we would of course leave a generous tip for Jordan who had been nothing but kind, but that our experience needed to be made right. Mike in essence threw us out of the restaurant. Jordan came back over to ensure there was nothing else he could do to make our situation better. We CashApped him and left a generous tip. How is it that your waiter is doing the job you shouldve been, Mike? As manager is it not up to you to set the standard for customer service? In truth, the entire interaction had a highly racist tone to it that made all of my (fellow Black) guests extremely uncomfortable. We left and I proceeded to break down in my car, sobbing uncontrollably at how horribly we were treated and how unhappy all of my guests left. I will tell everyone I know to choose literally any restaurant over 1892 East. I will never, ever return there and caution everyone I know to not step foot in such a place where they will be treated with such disrespect.
Never disappoints.! Been here multiple times and each time the food, service and atmosphere are consistently great! Food
We had a very fine dinner for our anniversary. Our server, Timothy, was friendly and attentive. Food and drinks were top notch .
Loved this place. Was in vacation and someone suggested this place. Portions could be a little bigger, but the freshness and brilliant color of the veggies was like WoW. Will definitely return. Keep it local.
Food was immaculate in taste and presentation, service was exceptional given how busy they were. Will be returning.
The Best food ever!!! Everything delicious, quality!!
Food isn t seasoned well and the entrees seemed pretty limited. For the price, I expected more from the flavor. Our server Micah was great!!
Loves the food and appetizers were great
Delicious and unusual meal. I had half an acorn squash filled with a tomato sauce, spinach, and shrimp. delicious and so tender I could eat the skin of the squash. My husband had a pasta with huge meatballs and a tomato and vege sauce. He brought home enough for both of us to share at lunch. Our friend had a well done beef tenderloin with mashed potatoes and green beans. She said it was delicious and tender. Since most well done steaks are dry, IMO, I think this was a definite win. $23 each for the first 2 and $30 for the steak. Reasonable for a nice restaurant.
Very tasty food Wheelchair accessibility: Yes Food : 5/5 |
Great food and service.
This is one of my favorite restaurants in Huntsville. I almost always get the trout or seafood special. The local beer selection is solid and the Sunday brunch is also great.
Our lunch was fantastic. My burger was perfect with crisp fries. My partners catfish sandwich was huge. The tarter sauce was house made and well as my mushroom alioli. The service was friendly and prompt. We will return.
Delicious food! The fried green tomatoes and the beef tenderloin or short ribs are excellent choices. Wait staff are well trained, courteous, and attentive.
Delicious farm fresh food, homemade deserts and pressed coffee
Went here for brunch after a hike. Next time Ill get a reservation to be safe, but we only waited about ten minutes. Great food and great people.
Food ; Guest Safety We were seated in the back room at a table that was apparently in an abnormal location. We, or more specifically, my wife learned this the hard way when a service door opened and whacked her on the back of head (see attached picture of our table). It was an honest mistake on the servers part but a complete failure on 1892s management for allowing such a mistake to happen while also offering zero recourse other than an apology from the servers involved.
Best eggs benedict anywhere on the brunch menu.
Vegetarian options: 3 menu options for vegetarians Wheelchair accessibility: No steps to climb
The Apple crisp old fashioned was delicious, ended up splitting the classic chicken sandwich and the portabello with my date and both were delicious, I will definitely be back to try more.
Great food and good service
EVERYTHING I have had at this place is absolutely fantastic! Their BREAD is made FRESH and it s one of my all-time favorite rolls ever (and I love bread)!!!l
A truly hidden gem in the Huntsville area. We visit for special occasions and have always been impressed with the experience. The staff are super friendly, attentive, and are open to sharing their recommendations for what to order. The food is amazingly tasty. Seriously, it s scrumptious. You will leave stuffed and satisfied. Be sure to make reservations by calling the restaurant or booking online in advance, it s a popular place after all. The food is yummy!
Veggie omelette was great!
Not as upscale as it seems. Not as clean as I would have thought. They do have vegan options but only two meals are actually good. Staff is friendly.
Very Nice place to eat. Food is good. This place is tucked away properly. Good table Service.
Food is very good
The service was great, but for the second time the food simply was not to my taste. The piped Sirius XM disco music (with commercials) did nothing to improve the ambiance.
Good selection of vegetarian items. Plant sausage a bit dry.
Over the past several years weve enjoyed 1892. We had a wonderful intimate dinner for 20 all at one table in their smaller private room 8 years ago now. We have enjoyed many a Sunday brunch at the bar making conversation with whoever happens to sit beside us. The other night though, was SPECIAL! We had 40 of our family together for dinner in their larger private room. The tenderloin MR was perfect, veg crisp and fresh, mashed potatoes - of the hook, and creme brulee actually the best Ive ever had. Service timed everything perfectly. Definitely an evening we will always remember- THANKS!!!!
One of my favorite spots. The food is always great, the staff is consistently awesome, just a lovely experience every time.
Absolutely great in every way. The bartender Timothy mixes up delicious and inventive drinks. (Ask for the Timmy s Tonic!) Everything is from scratch in the kitchen - the Caesar salad is perfection. Highly recommend this spot! Just slightly out of the way and away from the business of downtown.
My wife and I were the first ones in the door at 11 AM sharp upon opening. We were great with a smile from the host and server. The food and drinks were excellent and affordable. Our server was patient and informative. If we lived in Huntsville, we would be coming often.
Vegetarian options: Was not really impressed with the lunch menu veggie or regular. Somewhat limited. Brunch is great!
Such a relaxing atmosphere with great service. They have multiple vegetarian appetizers and entrees and a great draft beer selection too. The fried green tomatoes and sweet potato fritters appetizers are excellent. And the portobello with smoked gouda & butternut squash sauce rotini was the best grilled portobello Ive ever had.
Excellent service and really enjoyed the fried green tomatoes.
Staff was great.food is terrible. Chicken was pink. I gave the restaurant four times and each time I was disappointed especially for the price I had to pay. Definitely dont go. It is also filthy. I would rather go to Applebees than there
1892 is our go to brunch and lunch spot! I even like to call in orders and they are promptly ready and correct every time. Timothy behind the bar is amazing and all the other staff are super friendly. Service has been great and food delicious!
Fantastic spot for Dinner or Brunch. Expect to pay $20-$30/person for dinner and $12-$20/person for brunch. Food
We sat on the patio. It was quiet and comfortable, and the server was attentive. The only negative, and it was minor, was that the burgers were over done. I would definitely return to the restaurant when I next visit Huntsville .
I bet this place is better than what we saw. But, the ceaser salad was really superior. I mean you might say its just a salad but man is really good. Seems like the kitchen might be short of help. So. If the wait hadnt been so long this place would totally be 5 stars. They deserve another chance.
Very good food, great service
We had a large group there for a couple of birthdays and the food and service were wonderful. I will definitely dine here again.
Food was just okay. Ordered a medium burger and it was under cooked. A little disappointed for the price point. Service was amazing and liked the restaurant...
A nice little gem in the heart of Huntsville. Vegetarian options: Delicious! Food : 4/5 |
Great for brunch, can be slow at times (service), but always good.
We recently had a rehearsal dinner here for our sons wedding, and we were extremely pleased with the whole process. The staff were AMAZING, especially Anna, and they were very attentive to our every need! Anna went above and beyond helping us with everything!! The food was delicious as well. We would HIGHLY recommend them!
Vegetarian options: Have vegan as well. Timothy the bartender, very knowledgeable. Food
Unseasoned chicken breast, tasted like Costco rotisserie chicken. Mashed potatoes also bland. Service was great but save yourself the trip and go to Char
My best meal experience in recent memory, Locally sourced and authentic fresh food results in a meal of excellent quality in regards to taste, presentation, nutritional value, and sustainable practices. It was simply delicious, because everything is so good! Atmosphere included tasteful music, at a civilized volume, which is rare. Low key, tasteful and comfortable decorum, without a hint of pretention, and loads of personality. After dinner coffee served in a French press, with a warmed cup. Best after dinner coffee I ever had. From start to finish it is clear how much thought and love go into every single detail and really resulted for me in a memorable experience. All in a very understated atmosphere, which added to the charm. Our server was personable, friendly, and best of all, authentically so. A++, and thank you!
I want to love this place. Cool vibe and interesting menu. Unfortunately, I was served a pot pie with more than one bit of cartilage, and the filling, though tasty, was dry. Based on the overall quality in developing an appearance of concern for quality I expect to have a better experience next time.
