Upmarket American fare & unique bourbons in a buzzy, stylish space with brick-lined walls & a patio.
The server was awesome. I wanted tea. I was cold. he asked me what type, kind of tea I liked and then made me the perfect blend. Not only that, he added the honey and water with such an elegant flourish that the table was gasping with awe. THE MEAL WAS ELEGANT AND EVERYTTHING this gentleman did was purposeful, smiling, and wonderful. It has been rare to see a man with such carriage and joy in the wait staff. He made the occasion special and the restaurant exceptional. I will have to update with his name later. The food was great also.
We celebrated my mom’s birthday here, and it was an amazing experience! Every dish we ordered was fantastic, but the standout favorite was the lobster cream corn — an absolute must-try. We also had the giant sweet water prawns, black bass, and scallops, all of which were delicious and skillfully prepared to highlight the natural flavors of the seafood. I’m always wary of dishes being overly salty, but that wasn’t an issue here; everything was perfectly balanced. The service was impeccable, making the evening even more special. I’ll definitely be returning for the next special occasion!
Great meal, service and atmosphere. Don't bother looking for a menu it's ever changing and each visit promises a new experience. I loved the creative dishes which combined different temperatures, textures, and flavors. The smoked watermelon with shrimp sounded crazy but was fantastic. Be adventurous and give it a try, you won't be disappointdd
We are so happy we spent our wedding night meal here at Purveyor. Damien was an incredible server. He made great recommendations, checked on us frequently, and even “free-styled” a dessert for us that worked with my food allergies. We couldn’t recommend the pork, brussel sprouts, and short rib wellington more. They accommodated my gluten allergy expertly, and had an amazing atmosphere. We will be back and asking for Damien!
We had the pleasure of dining at Purveyor for our Anniversary and it was an experience to remember. From the moment we arrived, the ambiance set the stage for a special evening. The elegant decor, soft lighting, and impeccable service created a sophisticated yet welcoming atmosphere. The menu offered a wide variety of options, each dish thoughtfully prepared and beautifully presented. We started with the pork belly (not pictured) which was a delightful balance of flavors and textures. Very tender and good. For the main course, I chose the chicken, mostly tender, flavorful, and paired with an exquisite sauce that brought the dish to life. Parts of the chicken was dry, but for the most part, it was good. My husband had the steak and for desert, we had the peach cobbler, which was okay. Nothing too exciting. I would highly recommend it for a special occasion or a night when you want to treat yourself to something extraordinary. We will definitely be returning.
Wonderful dinner catching up with an old coworker. Server was excellent and down to earth and very entertained by us ladies. Tables and chairs were not the best for this level of dining IMHO. In the dining room we were in at least, we both were not as comfortable as we could have been. But everything else was wonderful. I wish more local restaurants had lamb dishes.
It was delicious. The atmosphere was intimate and felt comfortable. The food was good, especially the burger and the spicy tuna tacos. The desserts were all good, but the special was a matcha tiramisu and was amazing! Our server was always there to bring us drinks, foods, and napkins, but he wasn't overbearing.
We came here for our anniversary. The service was very good. We ordered Caesar salads for an appetizer. They were good, but pretty average. For our entrees, we ordered the prawns. Unfortunately, our server informed us that the entree came with no sides. We were very disappointed considering the entree was $44 each. So, we added a side of eggplant. The prawns had a good flavor but were chewy. My husband really liked the eggplant, but it wasn’t my cup of tea. We ordered gin and tonic, but it was $16.50 each and was only so-so. Our entire bill was over $200 which was very much overpriced. We won’t be back.
It was very good with nice service. The food was good.
For dine in the experience was great. Delicious food and attentive wait staff made it fun. Going again.
Food was amazing. Very expensive.
Sometimes the options leave me with only 1-2 options I would want to eat. Need a few more basic dishes.
My picky husband even loved Purveyor! Very unique dishes that were delicious and delivered by a very knowledgeable server. Dining here was a lovely experience and we would highly recommend it!
My husband and I enjoy dining here on occasion when we want a quiet night out alone. The atmosphere is lovely, the food is always delicious, and the service is the best! Whoever waits our table has always been kind and friendly, but not so talkative that you feel you are being interrupted by the waiter, just perfectly engaging! It is a wonderful place to dine and again, the food is impeccable!!
How have they had two abysmal health scores with such high reviews??
If youre looking for a fine dining experience, this is your place! From classic staples of gourmet food to wild combos like monkfish, you should try this place if your wallet can handle it!
Osso Bucco and Peach Cobbler were the best I have ever had!
Great date spot. Service is fantastic. Food and drink were top notch. One of favorite spots in Huntsville if I m gunning for something on the fancier side
Always a great experience! Except the one time the waiter was in love with my date lol
Stopped by for a late dinner. Great atmosphere, amazing service. Scallops were great, some of the sides were eh. Based on reviews seems like there are better things to order.
This is my favorite restaurant in Huntsville!!! My husband and I love the food, the servers, the owners, the atmosphere!!!
Enjoyed a wonderful meal with my wife for our 35th anniversary. Would definitely recommend Purveyor. Loved the atmosphere!
Purveryor hit the mark from the moment I walked in. Hostess was cheerful and pleasant. My waiter and even a couple of the other staff members were all incredibly friendly and attentive, giving good recommendations and just the right amount of conversation. I had the wagyu appetizer and the rack of lamb entree, as well as a cocktail the bartender just created for me and a dessert. All the food and drinks were amazing, especially the lamb! Definitely one of the best dining experiences I ve had in Huntsville and probably in my top 5 in the last decade, anywhere. They made my birthday dinner one to remember. A little pricey but you get what you pay for. I ll definitely be back. Thank you to everyone I interacted with and to the kitchen for such and awesome dinner.
My husband and I stopped in for a drink at the bar on a Tuesday evening. Our server was Kennady and she was excellent. She went above and beyond to make drinks for us that were based on our personal tastes. She was friendly and helpful. The experience was superb. Will definitely go back if we are in the area.
The food and service were absolutely amazing here!!! They had an appetizer with shrimp on roasted watermelon! I know it sounds like a strange combo, but it was absolutely heavenly! Also really enjoyed the ahi tuna tacos! Had the diver scallops for my entree and they melted in your mouth! Wonderful place! Will definitely return when visiting Huntsville in the future! Jake, our waiter, was amazing!
An extremely disappointing experience. I had booked a table for 2 people two months in advance, but when it came to seating us they initially put us at a table that was in a corridor. People were walking past us (and almost knocking into us) at least once every 30 seconds. After we raise the issue, they did reseat us, but the waiter (who was rather surly all evening long) made a very flippant and unpleasant remark as he did so. Our starters and cocktails were very good - the cornbread and watermelon dishes were particular highlights. However, the main courses were bang-average. For the cost (more than $100 per person) I expected a lot more. I would not recommend anyone go to Purveyor for dinner.
Food was salty, fishy and not worth the price. The company and the wine was the best part of the meal. Waiter was not enthusiastic.
Great food!
Beautiful dining atmosphere. Stingy with the bread. Coming from Texas, not my cup of iced tea. Someone ordered a taco and we couldnt help but comically laugh at how smol it was. Dont even call it a taco lol
Value is where Purveyor earns a 1 star. Extremely pricey for average food and average atmosphere. Staff is extremely nice and professional. But not worth the price.
Always great!
Its the go to place for date night. Me and the wife love going and just sitting at the bar.
It s ok. The staff is fantastic. Wear what you want. Super casual. The food is mid. Nothing super special. $50 a plate, but honestly anything there you can easily make at home just as good if not better. But again, the staff was great. Great staff, mid food
Kid-friendliness: No kids menu. Not really a place for young children. Food
Romantic date night restaurant, great menu, love the ambience.
My wife, daughter and I were in Huntsville en route to visit family in nearby Athens. We had dinner on Friday night, and it was one of the best dining experiences weve had in a long time. The staff (both Damien, our waiter, and Ryan, the Manager), could not have been nicer to us all. Food was excellent...service outstanding....and highly recommend you try them if you have not already. Thanks to all of you for helping make a nice memory for our family. John Phillips Charlotte, NC
You want big city prices and small quantities of just ok food? This is your spot.
This restaurant was amazing. And our server was even better. Damien was so much fun! We felt like old friends when we left.
This is a gem. Great pianist. Grab some drinks, and some decent food if you wish, and request your favorites. This place is gold.
Best food Ive had in any restaurant. The service was equally spectacular. If youre looking for a special place to bring your significant other- highly highly recommend. Get the crusted Lamb and thank me later!
Nice food, nice music , nice ladies and very nice crsppers.
First time here was incredible. They brought my wife and I complimentary champagne for our anniversary. Everything was phenomenal.
Zak was a great server! Highly recommend the Pork Ossobuco with Mole Sauce
I am not usually concerned with what size portion I get but in relation to cost the ratio was not right to me. The food is very good but the portion is appetizer sized while costing double the price of something equivalent. If the portion was larger or the price was lower I would have given 5 stars for the food.
Me and my girlfriend had a really nice experience here. The food wasnt merely food but an artists creation. I had the ribeye and Peruvian potato chips and she had the wagyu with purple mashed potatoes. We finished off our meals with a goats milk mascarpone and lingonberry dessert. The food was delicious and was present in a delightful manor. The price was steep but between the attentive service and lovely food, it was worth it. I recommend a visit.
The Piano bar is an absolute must for a special occasion. Such a lovely atmosphere and the pianist was so incredibly talented. Service, drinks, and food were all outstanding. If you have the budget, highly recommend. Dietary restrictions: Very gluten friendly, they take allergies very seriously.
Please ask for Damion L. He is the best we have ever had hands down. This is our second time with him being our waiter and we couldnt be happier. He was so helpful and accommodating to both my husband and I. Not to mention he made sure my little girl was happy and enjoyed herself. Kids get so bored with just sitting there but he made it all better and she was so happy. The food was absolutely amazing. Damion helped us pick our meals since we could not decide. It never disappoints. Kid-friendliness: See my experience comments.
This restaurant was very very delicious. It was quite pricey, we spent well over 100/ person but this included drinks and desserts. It is important to note, and they did tell us this which was nice, that the food portions are sized with the intention of you getting an appetizer and a side and even potentially a salad. So you would likely be hungry if you just ordered one entree. That being said I wouldnt want to miss the brussel sprouts or the ahi tacos. They alone would make this place 5 stars. Only real gripe is the price, but the quality of food very clearly shows its worth it. Its a fine dining experience.
We had large group in the private wine room. The food, wine and service were great. The Osso Bucco was delicious, fell off the bone into a savory sauce. Our variety of appetizers were all excellent. Reasonably priced for a gourmet food experience. Highly recommend.
We finally ate here last year and had an amazing meal so we were excited to return for an anniversary meal tonight. The wagyu tacos and sides were good but the mains just missed. She ordered the filet medium and I didnt notice until she was halfway done eating that it was a medium rare red and she just dealt with it and hadnt said anything. I ordered the veal chop at the waiter recommended medium and it seemed a bit overcooked at first since it was tough to cut. Towards the end though, there were a couple bites that were rare. Not the cooking quality expected from a restaurant at this price point and we were bummed that this visit didnt live up to what we experienced last time.
The food was excellent! The server was efficacious but snooty. Were it not for the waiters haughty attitude, I might even give 5 stars. Rudeness I will never tolerate & we wont be back for that reason alone. We were there for my husbands birthday in September of 2002.
Celebration dinner. We had rack of lamb, pork shank, bacon cheese burger, tuna tacos, Wagu ( ? or Kobe?) tacos and seared tuna. Everything was so good. The tacos were amazing (and tiny) and the pork shank stole the show. Spendy but worth it. Food
Excellent food, quality drinks, bar seating was perfect for catching up with old friends.
The best fine dining in Huntsville
This is more of a classy restaurant with absolutely great wines and spirits. The food is fabulous. This is not a cheap place but all so worth it.
My wife and I had a great time here. Fantastic food and service.
Excellent food and service! The starters were amazing! The lamb was tender and juicy!
Went for anniversary dinner, was quickly seated (online reservation very easy to make ahead of time). Server was polite, knowledgeable of the menu, and made good recommendations. Food portions reflect a 3 coarse meal. We each got a drink (merlot and martini), some shareables, split a main dish, total was 150 including tip. Lamb main course and wagyu tacos were fantastic. Atmosphere was very good; we got a nice seat with street view. Definitely made our anniversary feel special.
Good food, good service, but really, the cocktails were the star of our visit.
Great place. Will go back again.
I brought my wife here for Valentine s Day, and we had an amazing night. The winter menu, was phenomenal, and the special menu they had curated for Valentine s Day was perfect. We loved everything we got, and our waiter was so helpful and kind! The ambience, the food, the service. I highly recommend!
Finally Went! It definitely met all the hype. We started with water no ice . Then shared Caesar salad, creamy soup with crab and gator, some bread with avocado butter, the large prawns, Brussels sprouts, and 2 desserts since it was Valentines Day. We had the lava cake and a rectangle thingie with soft stuff on top . See pictures. Service was above average. Ambience was great. Bathroom was clean and stocked.
Atmosphere service food excellent going back
Party of 7 for our friendsmas and everything was great!
My husband and I dined here to celebrate our 5th year of marriage . From our amazing waiter, Mark to the food that gives you an adventure in your mouth, this place is the place to go if you re able to afford it. Delicious!!! And if you like cornbread, get the appetizer! You ll thank me later!
The chef did an excellent job with the food. Pork belly appetizer was a nice start. The lamb was tender and cut like butter. The servers were friendly. The smoked bourbon was entertaining.
Atmosphere is important for me, this place is amazing. Service seriously was the best and food phenomenal!
The food and service were great. Our server did a great job helping us pair drinks with our meals.
Just wondering, and hope to hear back from Purveyor on this. Had dinner there last night. My wife got the scallops. 5 nice big seared scallops, well, except 2 of them were actually potatoes that were very coincidentally made to look like the scallops that they were arranged with. So, does the scallop entree come with scallop-looking potatoes?
Excellent evening at Purveyor! Had the wagyu beef tacos as a starter and the short rib wellington as my main, both were cooked to perfection and delicious. This restaurant is at the higher end of price point for Huntsville but I would recommend for those that enjoy a fine dining experience. Sometimes great food and service is worth it and this is one of the examples. Thanks to the team at Purveyor, keep up the great work!
The wagu tacos are top shelf!
We are visiting from DC and trying out different restaurants in Huntsville....Eating out at this restaurant was an absolutely delightful experience that we will always remember. My in-laws treated us to this special occasion, and we were blown away by the excellent food and drinks. The steak and ribeye were cooked to absolute perfection, and each bite was bursting with flavor. Our server, David, was an absolute gem, providing top-notch service and ensuring that every aspect of our meal was perfect. He truly made the experience all the more enjoyable. Overall, it was the best dining experience weve had yet. It is super pricey for its casual feel even by DC standards and their menu change seasonally. Grateful our in-laws took us. But overall love it!!!
Second time here - blown away again! The food is always perfect and the service is top notch.
Update: Food was still fantastic, but the service was not as good. They were busy, but it seems theyve added a whole new side of the restaurant and the wait was much longer for everything. We had a reservation but still had to wait for table and the whole meal took longer than expected. Food was fantastic! First time visiting the restaurant and couldnt be happier. They had a wonderful Old Fashion drink and the Waygu beef was perfect. Cant wait to visit again!
Great food and service! Our favorite in HSV.
Its been a while since we ate here. Our last experience was underwhelming. The menu has changed for the better now. We started with the Ahi Tuna Poke Tacos. They were excellent. I had the monkfish. It was well cooked and very tasty. My spouse had the scallops and they were very good. We shared the brussels sprouts. They were excellent. We finished with a delicious bread pudding.
Arguably the best dining experience in Huntsville.
Tonight we sat at table F2 and our server was Zach! Zach was an amazing server to say the least. Yes, we enjoyed the food but the serves we received with Zach was even better! Zach if you read this review you re the best man!! If you re considering this restaurant ask for Zach!
Good food, service was slow and meals took an hour to arrive. Appetizers were great, the mains (prime rib and salmon) were good but overpriced for such a standard offering. Good wine list. Should try at least once.
Loved the service, ambience, drinks and food. Worth the splurge!
Probably my favorite spot in Huntsville.
My spouse and I traveled to Huntsville to visit my brother, and we wanted to eat Huntsvilles best offerings at local restaurants. Purveyor is FANTASTIC. The bartenders Temple and Mika were inviting, knowledgeable, kind and GREAT mixologists. Temple gave us amazing recommendations. The food is beyond excellent. The Wagyu Filet was out of this world! I recommend this place to anyone looking for a fine dining experience in Huntsville. We will be back!
Fantastic food but they should remove the TV and play better background music. the atmosphere is lovely, the TV ruins it, especially at the bar.
Its the best Restaurant in Alabama. Good ambiance, food is amazing. Service is great. Definitely coming back. Highly recommended!
The food was amazing. Our waiter Zach did a great job. I will definitely be back.
We have been trying higher end restaurants since relocating to the Huntsville and this was definitely are worst food experience thus far. The entrance is awkwardly located in a throw-together vestibule with no signage. Just on the inside of this vestibule is where we were seated, so we had the joy of having parties awkwardly stare at us all evening while we attempted to enjoy our meal. I highly suggest you mark the entrance to your restaurant. On to the meal...the appetizer started things off in the right direction. The spicy ahi tuna tacos were indeed spicy and delicious. The main course is where things went wrong. The wagyu burger was easily one of the driest burgers I have ever had. The only flavor I could taste was the char from grill. The burger was loaded with toppings that were not identifiable by sight and taste. I am not really sure how you could dry out beef that is of such high quality, but the chef definitely accomplished that feat. Our other entrée consisted of scallops that were bland and nothing special. I decided to add a side of mushrooms with my burger and again I could not identify exactly what sort of flavor they were going for, but salty and bland is what I ended up with. Most likely not returning.
Wendy was absolutely phenomenal! Appreciate that she took time to ask about our specific needs and allergies. When we asked about pairings, she took time to check with chef to ensure we had the best culinary experience. Thank you so much, Wendy! You truly made our first excursion to Purveyor a next level experience.
food and service was incredible! although music was awful and the atmosphere was kind of corny. needs a more authentic feel to really make it worth it.
All of the food was excellent, and the service was even better! Wendy was our server and she did an amazing job! No complaints about the food or service. The four stars is only because their menu isn t allergen accurate (literally the chef confirmed it) so for safety reasons that should be re-done. The cocktails were good, but we had the baby octopus, seared swordfish, Wagyu, and kumquat cheesecake and the food was perfection. Will definitely be returning.
We made reservations for an early dinner, we arrived even earlier but had no trouble getting a seat. The initial reception was warm and inviting, and though our seating was a low and diminutive table (Im a bit of a curvier gentleman) the seating was comfortable. We ordered drinks, you would imagine that a business operated by the Church Street Wine Shop would have excellent wine choices, and the menu did not disappoint. What you might not expect is the amazing bourbon selection. Really excellent, hard to find favorites that are difficult to come across in most casual dining scenarios. As a warm up, a parmesan crusted bread with garlic and chive butter is served. Its fantastic. We chose roasted pork belly and corn bread as appetizers, and they did not disappoint. The cornbread was finished with sea salt and broiled to get a crispy, almost caramelized top which was phenomenal. The pork belly was ephemeral, roasted to perfection with very well rendered fatty sections that just held together to make the perfect bite. We each had a different salad, a roasted beet salad and a watercress-dandelion affair. The beet salad sat on this blissful buttery sauce, I cannot describe it well but it was really great. The watercress-dandelion was crispy, alternatively spicy from the radishes, bitter from the dandelion, and sweet/sour from the dressing. Lovely. For the entree, I had the short ribs. Wonderfully braised, for probably way longer than Id have the patience for. Superbly seasoned and dressed well with a celeriac cream that perfectly cut through the richness of the ribs. My wife had the Angus filet, which was a glorious blessing. Lying on a bed of rich prosciutto sauce and accompanied by charred Hawaiian onions, this was an amazing plate! For dessert, my wife had a 40 year port and the Mexican dome cake. Served with a smear of raspberry reduction of some type, this was a fantastic crescendo to a really spectacular meal. I will add that the service was absolutely perfect, the wait staff made sure we were well cared for and I sincerely appreciate that! Keep a table open for us, folks - well be back!
Didnt have time to eat, but our drinks were phenomenal
They smoked my coffee!!! Love the menu options and the presentation is impressive!
The food is delicious. I cant wait to come again.
Tonight s meal will go down in history as one of the best I ve ever had. I love good food and a fine dining experience but I m not ashamed to admit I thought each item was the best I ve ever tasted. My friend, who had eaten there before characterized it perfectly by saying it was big city meets southern food and its fit perfectly. No cans in that kitchen, everything is fresh and cooked to perfection. Pricy but worth it.
The food was amazing, and the service was abysmal. Waited 45 minutes after being seated 15 minutes past our reservation time before the server even greeted us. No sorry for the long wait or any kind of explanation. We were celebrating our anniversary, and she was made aware of this after asking if we were celebrating anything. She was very attentive to her other three tables. Waited 30 minutes for sweet tea after she took our food order. It came not long before the food did. My significant other, and I just had no drink after we finished our alcoholic beverages from the bar top for about 50 minutes while we waited. She was not the one who brought the food out or checked on us until she wanted to see if we wanted desserts so she could make her add-ons look better for the night. I was clearly not amused, as I have worked in the food industry as a server for almost 5 years now. Visibly irritated, the manager looked over at us and our very empty table many times, obviously noticing we were looking for something. Which was our missing drinks and MIA server. Not once did he come over to see if things were okay. He just stood at the bartop, looking around clueless. Whats the point in a manager who doesnt manage or check on guests? We sat at the bar before getting our table, and the bartender was so sweet and attentive and gave us amazing recommendations on drinks. I wish we had just stayed at the bar top. We spent $180, and our anniversary dinner experience was quite awful. This was supposed to be a great night out for us. Not sure if we werent valid customers because we dont wear designer clothes and have nice looking jewlery but we were fully prepared to leave a generous tip if our server wouldnt have treated us like we didnt exist. At least the purple potatoes were good... Steer clear of this casually dressed dining experience if you look middleclass. Because you probably wont be treated like a guest but more of a neusence.
Edward was great! Great food and service. Good vibes.
Ryan was an excellent waiter with a wealth of knowledge. You can tell he s taken the time to study the menu in order to provide accurate recommendations. He recommended I get my steak Pittsburg style and it was cooked exactly as he described. So thumbs up to the chef and Ryan. We ll definitely be back. P.S. the pork belly slaps!
Sat in the walkway to the kitchen cobstant traffic of servers, not fun.
Pros: food was pretty decent, our server was pleasant. Cons: we got there at 6:40 for a 6:45 reservation but wasn t seated until after 7 and then the table turned out to be a 4 sq-ft high top in the middle of the walking path so that servers and other guests were constantly touching my back and sides. It was not pleasant. The restaurant knew this was for our 1-year wedding anniversary too. I get that it may be unpredictable as to where to seat people but if you have reservations only like this, it could likely be planned better. Would I go back? Yes, but only for bar seating for a casual dinner and drink situation. Not what I wanted for a special commemoration like a wedding anniversary.
I got a Burnt burger! Why? The quality of the ingredients is excellent as the price dictates, but makes no sense to char it. I asked to fix it but said that is how they do it! Sorry but black char is not healthy or tasty. Its lazy cooking. A nice crisp brown is great, but char is bitter and hard. Ive had their burger before and it was the best on HSV. I cant say that anymore. One other review mentioned the same thing about their burnt burger so Im not the only one. Im disappointed as the rest of the food was excellent.
Amy was an excellent server! The food was absolutely delicious. They have a very unique menu that allowed us to try classic favorites (steak, fish, cornbread etc) but with a fun twist in how they were prepared and served. Atmosphere was very cool and romantic, only downside was the music was a little bit too loud. Parking: Easily found street parking which is free after 5pm on Mon-Fri Kid-friendliness: I would not bring small children here
They do everything they can to accommodate you
Great food, great staff. The poke tuna tacos are a must.
WILD GAME AT SUPPER CLUB WAS TOTALLY AWESOME
We loved the food and the service was impressive. Huntsville is all the better with this dining establishment.
The food and drink we great we had a great time as well
Overpriced and not very good. Check out Domaine South and get your money s worth.
The service was good. I had a reservation for 7:45pm and I had to wait to get inside, then I waited 30 minutes for my steak, which was a little bit burnt. I ordered medium, and I got medium well. It was overpriced for the quality of the steak. The ceviche had too much ginger, and it is missing ingredients as everyone knows the ceviche is Peruvian, and this was a poor imitation.
Good food. Our waiter was decent but very uncommunicative - we learned more about the menu by overhearing a different waiter talking to his table next to us.
The food and drinks at Purveyor are always some of the best in Huntsville. Always consistent in quality and taste. We love dining here.
Superior, upscale dining experience in a business casual atmosphere in beautiful, downtown Huntsville. Can I give 6 stars? Eleven of us gathered in a private room for a night of exceptional service and unforgettable food. We enjoyed Bourbon Trace, a parade of delicious reds and a wide variety of delectable appetizers, including wagyu beef tacos, ahi tuna tacos, roasted brussel sprouts, and addictive house cornbread prior to the main event. Goodbye diet.... The service was superior. Thanks to our charming young waitress, Kennedy, for making us feel at home and completely spoiled. The main meal, filet mignon for this guy, was savory, truly mouth watering and arguably the best I have had in years. Somehow, we proceeded to dessert. Looking forward to date night with my wonderful wife of 29 years (AKA Dollface) next week. Highly recommend Purveyor, People! Take your spouse, or a group of close friends, and enjoy the good life.
Food is good! All recommended items from our waiter were good. Mexican creamed corn was to die for! Atmosphere was a little stuffy with very small tables.
Me and my husband wanted to try a new restaurant. One of my husbands employees recommended this restaurant. Her husband was a waiter there. I can not put into words how impeccable the food and service was. Chef kiss ! Zach was our waiter. He is absolutely amazing! Our food and service was perfect. 10 out of 10 recommend!
I visited Purveyor for my birthday. Amy, our server, was wonderful. The staff was amazing. The food was both beautiful and delicious. We will definitely be back. Please visit if you havent!
Food was well prepared, drinks were excellent, could use some vegetarian options though Vegetarian options: Other than salad and family style sides, nothing really for vegetarians
I was excited to try this place because the reviews were good, but unfortunately I cannot agree. The Hostess was extremely rude from the beginning. Our reservation was for 6pm and they were not busy. She said we didn t have a reservation, when we had the reservation pulled up in our phone, we were told we would have to wait. We had requested a booth two weeks ago for a special occasion. She then tried to move us to a tiny table by the front door but my bf once again said we had requested a booth and we can clearly see three booths open and available. She sits us at booth that has been partitioned in half and I am unable to comfortably put my left arm up. I m wondering if it s because there s two of us but I look around and see there s another couple in a full booth. The food and drinks were okay, overpriced for the quality and quantity. I ordered two different signature cocktails. The filet was good but the octopus was very tough. The wine list was not impressive at all. My bf had the red fish and he said it was okay. Price wise , you re spending $$$ at this restaurant and the quality and service were not there. I think if you re going to spend this amount of money there are better restaurants. Cotton Row and the Bottle have better food and drink selections. I think it s even worth driving to Highlands restaurant in Birmingham than wasting this amount of money at Purveyor. I think I compare other expensive restaurants to Highlands which I give 5 stars every time. Incredible food and service there! Maybe Purveyor was having an off night but it was such a bad experience, I never want to go back. But hopefully if you go, you have a better time. Parking: There s a parking garage close by
Took my wife for her birthday. Our server was very nice and his recommendations we on point. We had the 16 Oz steak for 2 and the lamb. Both were fantastic. The cornbread appetizer was great. Atmosphere was very Date night. Would recommend and we will be returning
My review is strictly on professionalism. I made a reservation several weeks ago for today 9/4/2023, obviously unaware that it was Labor Day. Not a single phone call, or email to inform me that they were closed. Unfortunate for me, strongly lacking on them.
We had a great evening celebrating our anniversary. Ryan provided excellent service, the food was delicious, and everything was perfect!
Excellent service. Food was unique and amazing.
Food was great. Drinks were amazing
My party of four had dinner reservations at a time that wasn t particularly busy. The amount of waiting we had to do was absolutely ridiculous. Our reservations were for six, we got there at six thirty and we didn t get to leave until about eight. The menu itself is worded very confusingly with only the sides being marked as gluten free and none of the main course meals marked with it. I have a lot of dietary restrictions and opted for the medium rare steak filet. I was already disappointed there was nothing else on the menu that could side with my main course. I was so disappointed to receive an extremely rare borderline raw cut of meat that had no seasoning, covered in what looked like clover and the top of my meat was burnt. It left the worst burnt charcoal taste in my mouth and was completely flavorless. I understand my diet makes my options limited and it can be frustrating to deal with these obstacles, but I feel I deserve to be served good food too (I am gluten free, dairy free, tree nut free). Our waiter was very kind and got the manager and one of the members of my party explained what was going on with my meal as well as theirs. They were upset with the meat in their burger. However the one member of my party who chose chicken was pleased with his meal. The pork belly was also wonderful they said. However from a restricted diet perspective this restaurant has so much missed potential and room to grow. Dietary restrictions: Absolutely horrible at accommodating for people with dietary restrictions. I really wish they would improve on this. I am gluten free, dairy free, and tree nut free and my waiter informed me I could only safely eat a cut of steak or fish and no side options were safe and made in a way that I could eat and enjoy too.
Food was fantastic. Parking was easy. Service was good. Would definitely recommend for anyone looking local, amazing food, and regular menu changes.
Dietary restrictions: Very aware of ingredients and willing to suggest/alter slightly to accommodate allergies! Food
Excellent food in a pretty downtown.
Always a great meal even though Purveyor is on the more expensive side.
nice place for dinner with lots of drink choices
Fantastic service! Thanks to hville blast for the gift card and Purveyor for a phenomenal experience
I enjoyed myself here, the establishment stepped out of the box as far as flavor goes! I was very visually pleased with the food! I love that the menu yields to fresh ingredients, so it changes often! The atmosphere is nice and the staff was amazing! Would recommend! Be prepared to try something new!
We ve been before and it wasn t a memorable experience, but decided to give this place another try and we re absolutely glad we did! Everything was perfect for our anniversary dinner. The menu was amazing. Our favorites were the Chinese eggplant, rack of lamb, and pork belly appetizer. The Diora wine was also delicious! Our sever, Nathaniel, was exceptional with suggestions and service. We had such a great experience that we ll definitely be returning soon.
The atmosphere and service are so amazing all I can say is you have to go and experience it for yourself.
Probably the best meal Ive had in Huntsville.
Despite being advertised as a piano bar on weekends, there was no piano player on a Saturday night and had a suggested set list for them to play on the restaurant-wide PA system. When I went to play around on the piano, it was horribly out of tune.
We went to the piano bar on 11/11 and the atmosphere was amazing. Steve and Hannah were amazing and the vibe was wonderful. We had an amazing girls night!
Stepping into The Library at Purvayor Piano Bar felt like discovering a hidden musical oasis! Our guy Nathaniel, our waiter, was more like a wizard of hospitality, weaving magic into our night. And the wine was delicious!! And can we talk about Steve and Hannah? Their musical mojo turned our evening into a soul-stirring melody that we didnt want to end. The vibe? Think cozy and chill, like your favorite worn-in sweater but with a sprinkle of sophistication. We were itching to belt out tunes with Steve, but the intimate atmosphere kinda whispered, Easy, tiger. Still, it added this magical touch that made the night uniquely lovely. Now, the real talk: were already plotting our next visit, fueled by dreams of themed nights thatd crank up the fun. Picture this - a blast from the past with 90s jams, reliving the boy band era, swaying to Taylor Swift, or grooving back to the 80s. The options are endless, and the excitement is real. But hey, finding this gem on social media? That was like a quest. With a bit more buzz, thanks to Steve and Hannahs killer talents, this place could be THE weekend spot. Were counting down the days until were back, hoping for themed nights, a packed house, and another round of unforgettable vibes at The Library at Purvayor Piano Bar!
Well, when you spend $8 and get a 2 inch taco, that sort of sums up the experience. I ordered this as an appetizer, not wanting to fill up before my small plate dinner came out. Something I definitely didnt have to worry about. Waygu and tasty or not, this is Huntsville, not New York. Sarcasm aside because I really want to see more places like this thriving. Our waiter was amazing, and the place had a really nice atmosphere, but we werent as impressed with the food for the value. We come from a large metropolitan area and are not new to occasional fine dining. We were hopeful this place would deliver, but were not sure it hit the mark for us.
Had a wonderful lady named jade help me over the phone and the service was outstanding! She gave me all the help and information I needed to come in with my family.planning to come in this Saturday with the wife and kids. Best service I have received in my life thank you jade.
Great place for date night!
Fantastic first visit for me and will definitely be returning. Everything was perfect. Seasonal menu items were fantastic. Keith was our server, and he was probably the most attentive and friendly server I ve ever had. Thank you Purveyor!!
Excellent food, excellent service, awesome selection of bourbons
The food is really awesome and our server was really kind. Best steak I ve had in the Huntsville area.
Great ahi tuna taco, great sides...
Well crafted food and cocktails, outstanding service courtesy of Damien, a workable wine list. The burger is actually a good wagyu burger which has been rare in my experience.
Our food was very good. Salmon with foie gas, monkfish, duck confit. The brussel sprouts were wonderful. Great for a special occasion to get dressed up and enjoy fancy food and cocktails.
Nicely presented food that s painfully overpriced and tastes equal to a beginner home cook s first experiments in gourmet. I had a wide selection: Duck Confit, Korubuta Pork Belly, Tempura Ginger, Seafood Chowder, Wagyu Taco, Brûlée Pear, and Bread Pudding, and absolutely nothing impressed me enough to want to eat a second time. The confit was the best of the bunch, but didn t come close to justifying its $35 price tag. I can go to Atlanta and have better for $15. The pork belly was probably the worst. Miserably dry and lacking flavor, at least it wasn t chewy... If I can suggest the pork belly poppers at Frey s Meats. Twice the meat, twice as good, and half the price. The deep fry on the ginger was perfect...but the ratio of fry to ginger was so bad that I barely even tasted the ginger, just bite after bite of breading. The chowder was actually rather tasty but nothing special compared to dozens of other chowders I ve had in the $8-12 price range...except this one was $19. The $8 wagyu taco was hilariously small, maybe 1.5 bites if you are being generous. Absolutely nothing wrong with this, I understand paying for premium ingredients, but one should really let the customer know they are buying a single bite of food. The fruit on the bread pudding was excellent, but the bread pudding itself was lackluster. Finally the brûlée pear had promise, some bites were positively excellent, until in your next bite you got the burned sugar of an inexperienced cook who can t control the temperature. I would absolutely not go again. A complete waste of money for dishes that I could easily cook better and far cheaper in my home kitchen.
Service, food, and drinks were great. Our server was vet knowledgeable of the menu and all ingredients. We will definitely be back to try some other things on the menu.
This used to be one of our go to restaurants in Huntsville. We stopped going a year or so ago after a menu change. We decided to give it a shot on Saturday night and we are glad we did. Everything we ate was delicious. The service was excellent. The environment is relaxed and welcoming. If its been a while since youve eaten here, give it another shot.
Servers were very professional, food tasted great. We had a group of 24 on a Wednesday night, so it took a bit of time to get all the food, but thats to be expected. They managed the group well, and drinks and food were all spot on.
Excellent restaurant with great dishes but the price is a bit high. Excellent bar, cocktails were carefully made and whiskey is good.
Jesus, this place was good. Best Brussel sprouts Ive ever had. Pretty much crack. Other than that, every single item my group and I had was very flavorful and ridiculously good. A bit on the pricey side, but well worth it. Would highly recommend. Great service as well.
Absolutely fantastic food & outstanding service. Our waiter, AJ, rocks. We will dine here again.
One of my favorite fancier Huntsville restaurants. The cocktails (cotton gin and dynamite) were tart with a hint of sweetness. If I had to choose only one, it would be the dynamite. They have a pretty good bourbon selection as well. The food was fresh and hot. We order a ribeye, Brussels and scallops. The scallops were like butter. Melted in your mouth. Note they do not have cream brûlée (a staple) but they do have a great pasty chef from Las Vegas. The service is always on point. Highly recommend going here for a special evening. Make sure to make a reservation. If you cancel it s a $25 fee fyi. Enjoy!
Amazing food and service! Purveyors menu is designed for a three course meal. The portions are small but packed with flavor.
Food and libations were fantastic. Damian our server was absolutely outstanding. We need more Americans like Damian!!!
Im here now. Absolutely splendid! Great food, exquisite ambience.
Great cocktails. Great food
Food was good, new york strip tasted great and was cooked correctly, although overpriced. Service was poor to average at best for an upscale restaurant. Private room/wine storage area was cluttered with wine boxes, extra chairs and tables. Not a terrible experience, but not great either.
Awesome place to celebrate good friends and a great life.
This was our first time visiting Purveyor. We made a reservation for a Friday night. Ended up showing up a little early and they sat us anyways. Drinks, food and service was great. Prices were similar to The Bottle, but everything about Purveyor was better. Be sure to make a reservation, seating is limited due to the restaurant being on the smaller side.
Got the Osso Bucco. Worth going back just for that!
Fantastic. First, they are open on Monday. Second, the food is great. The most remarkable dish was the tuna poke taco appetizer, which was unexpected and delicious. The Pork osso bucco was a close second. We also got the cornbread appetizer and the Halibut entree, which were very good. Zero to complain about. Honorable mention to our incredibly helpful and professional server, Scott.
Interesting upscale restaurant.Great service and cozy enviroment.Dishes creatively prepared....I ate a great mini.soup of cold avocado. I very much enjoy the dessert made at its perfections.Little expensive as dinner.Pls do not go dining if you are hungry. You will be leaving disappointed. The plate served has small portion and aint cheap.
We dont really let our guests take the paper menus, was the response by the hostess when asked if I could take a paper menu outside to check out the fare, after she glanced at a huge stack of them. I guess they didnt want our patronage, and thats okay
This place was amazing. We sat down at the bar to get a drink while waiting on our table. After the first drink, the bartenders were so talkative and helpful that we decided to just eat dinner there. We started with the poke tacos and ordered the swordfish and lamb for dinner. The food was delicious but the drinks were the highlight of the night. Zach and Tipple (I really hope I m spelling his name right) were so attentive and even suggested drinks we should try. Best date night we ve had in quite awhile. We will be back soon!
We waited over an hour for drinks and our food. They served everyone else but us and charged over $200 for gross food.
This is a beautiful place. Food is amazing. The service by Scott was also friendly but very informative. I had the Wagyu burger and fries. This was to die for. Portions are large at least for me so i shared with my dog Harley! We sat outside and we had the best time with others patrons that were there. No I didn t forget to tell you about the Watermelon cardamon Brussels sprouts! Ever have the most delicious item and wished it was never ending? This was the side dish. Oh my goodness!! Thank you for the wonderful time.
Excellent dining experience from the time we were greeted to dinner. Dave, our server was outstanding however the entire restaurant had a team attitude as everyone made sure empty glasses were full (or taken away) as well as plates and new silverware. The bread total yum, scallops and the green sauces reeeeeally good but the highlight of the evening was the halibut. Just exceptional. Topped the evening off with a lava cake. When I m Huntsville put Purveyor on your list!
Delicious. Always.
Lovely atmosphere! Great whiskey and wine selection!
Fantastic meal. Great service!
Ask about drinks. They ll give you a detailed answer if you don t know what you want and everything is delicious.
The only restaurant in HSV to truly embrace restaurant week. Four courses for a fixed price. Wine pairings were superb. Stuffed zucchini app - awesome. Cool avocado soup - sublime. Pork shank osso buco was rich, soft, warm, expertly seasoned. The gnocchi was pleasant. At this point everyone was sated, yet here came dessert. Over the top. Service was professional and up to the task.
Our favorite restaurant in Huntsville
Where do I begin? Well we began with the ahi tuna tacos which was a deliciously fun start to one of the best meals Ive ever had. The chilled avocado soup came next which was not only stunningly beautiful but light and delicious, something Im inspired to make at home now. For entrees we ordered two dishes off the specials menu which were the skate wing (a first for all of us) and the NY strip steak. Our amazing server Ray recommended the truffle butter which I had already been eyeing, and we got some scallops in accompaniment as well. Hands down the BEST and most perfectly cooked scallops anyone at the table had ever had. As for the truffle butter, you could put that on anything. Our other two entrees were the ribeye and the lamb chops. The carrot fondue puree with the lamb was so delicate and smooth as silk. The lamb itself was cooked perfectly with a crispy charred herbalicious crust. We got the local oyster mushrooms and sweet and sour watermelon brussel sprouts which is a MUST order. After all this perfection no one needed dessert but knowing Purveyor has acquired a pastry chef from the Bellagio we had to try some. We ordered the kumquat cheesecake with peach ice cream and the floorless Mexican chocolate torte. Both desserts were mind-blowing delicious, absolutely perfect in every way. Overall I just want to convey that this is the BEST restaurant weve been to in Huntsville hands down, and as I said one of the best meals Ive had anywhere. Weve been to a couple similar style restaurants with similarly priced dishes, and Purveyor has no competition. Im going to be hard pressed to want to go anywhere else when looking for a perfect and delicious fine dining experience. Well done, Purveyor, please give our gratitude to your chef and staff.
We only had drinks we did not have anything to eat. Lovely atmosphere the bartender kept us entertained and the ambiance was amazing. Ill check the food out next time and update this review
So good!!! We ate everything the waiter suggested and none of it disappointed.
Love their smoked old fashion, must try if you like it. Food was delicious. And very friendly staff.
Upscale restaurant downtown. The food is very good. Everything we had tasted excellent. Service and atmosphere was great. Highly recommend if you are looking for an upscale restaurant atmosphere.
Food was excellent, fish was cooked as ordered, wait staff was very attentive
Great food and unique cocktails. The rack of lamb might have been the best lamb I have ever eaten. Bartender was excellent. A new must stop for me when staying in Huntsville.
Delicious food, quiet & cozy atmosphere. Well be back.
Staff was standoffish. Server was more worried about stroking his ego about food knowledge than actually educating us on the menu. And after the awkward back and forth we got recommended the $40 skate. Sorry I will not be eating stingray in North Alabama. We ended up with the chicken and it truly was phenomenal but will never eat here again based on the vibes and atmosphere.
I recently visited Purveyor and I was so impressed! They have an amazing selection of whisky and their poke tacos were delicious. The atmosphere was fantastic and the service was top-notch. I would highly recommend Purveyor to anyone looking for a phenomenal restaurant experience.
We were here for a work meeting/dinner. This was my first time ever eating here and it was an awesome experience. Everything was delicious, especially my filet and the cornbread... and our service was absolutely amazing!!! I definitely see many more Purveyor dinners in my future.
Very good restaurant food was awesome good seafood and also the dessert fantastic. Service was greate . Little bit overpriced . But the quality is high . They have very good cocktails too .
Good Food friendly staff. A little pricey considering you get nothing with a 60.00 steak. All veggies and salads are priced separately. I got grilled sweet &sour Brussel sprouts and they were 10.00. The restaurant is cozy and the decor is nice.
The ahi tuna taco small plate was superb. We also had scallops entree and swordfish entree, with a side of brussel sprouts. The swordfish was great. The scallops were gritty. The brussel sprouts were really sweet (sweet and sour sauce). Fortunately, our server Jessica asked about our experience and comped the scallops and brussel sprouts. Would I go back? Yes.
Date night was a success! We heard that Purveyor had a new chef and we didnt know how this would change things. I didnt think that Purveyor could get any better.. but it leveled up. The duck balls werent on the menu but they assured us they will return. A5 Waygu was worth $30 for 2 ounces! The food was perfectly seasoned and the staff is top notch attentive. Welcome to Huntsville Chef Jimmy Canora! We are so pleased that you are here.
