The best Japanese restaurant in Huntsville! I love to come here for celebrations like birthdays and anniversaries. It’s great for both 1-2 people dinners, or up to 10 person meals. The staff is so friendly and remembers you. The atmosphere feels classy, without the pressure to dress-up, but you wouldn’t feel out-of-place if you did! I recommend Dashu to everyone craving good Japanese food 😄
Love the food and the decor! The atmosphere is nice, and the service is good. The sushi boats are my favorite to get :)
Me and two other coworkers went to eat here on our lunch break. We work right down the road and haven't tried this restaurant before. As soon as we walked in we complimented how cute the atmosphere was. We didn't really know what to order and our waitress Lina was AMAZING!!! She gave us time, answered our questions and made us feel at home. She was the BEST waitress I have had at a restaurant in a long time, especially since COVID. She made us feel like she enjoyed her job. We complimented her multiple times and she was so appreciative. She brought our food out quickly, kept our drinks refilled and cleared the table as soon as empty dishes were ready, to remove them out of the way. We asked for to go boxes and she brought them within minutes. I WOULD 10/10 RECOMMEND GOING! Ask for LINA! :)
Enjoy al-fresco dining or inside. Our server was great! Such personable service. This was our first time and will certainly be back next time we visit Huntsville again. The ginger salad dressing was a little different than I'm used to (almost as if they added a tiny bit of mayo) but not bad. The hibachi chicken was superb! Veggies were cooked perfectly and fried rice... yum!
The food was okay. It's what you'd expect at a standard sushi restaurant. It's not like a high-quality sushi restaurant. It's good, tho just not one of my favorite restaurants.
We loved our first dining experience here today. Nina was so sweet to us. The food was so delicious and the atmosphere is beautiful. The decorations are absolutely perfect. We will definitely go back!!
we LOVE dashu!🤍 the food is delicious and fresh every time. we have gone for dinner and even late in the evening and the food is amazing every time. the staff is overly kind and welcoming, as they truly care for their customers! truly one of the best restaurants around!
Update: been here a several times now. Seems better on the weekends. Sushi and service is better on busier nights. Miso separates if you let it sit in your bowl. Not my top pick for Maki Monday in town. Feb 2023: Delish! Subdued but friendly service.
Best Sushi in Huntsville!
Yi and his staff are TOP notch - you can tell their professionalism and kindness when you re seated plus the food is delicious, consistent and beautifully prepared. We dine at Dashu weekly because our whole family loves the menu and vibes top to bottom! Dietary restrictions: We are mostly vegan (with fish) and our family can get a WIDE array of entrees Kid-friendliness: My kids love the casual atmosphere
Very nice restaurant. A pleasant surprise in all areas. Definitely put it on your list to try.
Well worth every penny. The romance roll was very very good. They know you are paying for the alcohol so they are not shy although they won t make it strong if they know you re driving. Highly recommend for a date. We sat next to a piano and fireplace.wonderful service food and drinks.
Amazing. We took my newphew for his 21st birthday and it was a great time. Good drinks, the food was amazing, and our waitress was fun and made it a great time. Thanks so much! Vegetarian options: Plenty of options
We regularly visit this place. Sushi is the best in HSV SE area. They also have hibachi and bento box style meals for non sushi goers. Top tier lunch and dinner place. Waiters are super quick and attentive. Never have to wait for a refill or the next course. Highly recommended!! Kid-friendliness: Very kid friendly. New born and up, they are will be very accommodating. High chairs are quickly added to the table.
I thought the Alabama roll was excellent. Service was first right. Very clean and bright inside.
Love the food, great service. Can t wait to go back. Also the prices are very reasonable!!!
We had a chicken and a beef teriyaki bento lunch box and an order of calamari. The food was just OK I think the order of calamari was only like 6 pieces. Which honestly isn t much for an appetizer. The food quality wasn t the best- but OK. That is the only wood I can use to describe our experience. OK. The service was good and the staff was nice.
Good sushi and kind service
Two of my coworkers and I went to this restaurant for the first time today and we will definitely be back. Lina was our server and she is the most kind, attentive, and friendly servers I have ever met. Even if the food wasn t amazing (which it was) all of us agreed we would go back just because of how amazing she was.
Let me just start of by saying LINA is the best of the best! She was an amazing waitress and took very great care of me and my friends! The food being great was just a plus! #Linaforpresident
My wife and I absolutely love this place! Sushi is a must! 10/10
Sushi made me throw up and stomach hurt
I got salmon cucumber roll and I ended up getting food poisoning throwing up none stop probably the worst sushi I ever had!!!
First time any of us had eaten there, and it was amazing!!! Our server was prompt and we enjoyed the calmness of the atmosphere
We came here for our anniversary and it was the best decision we made. The food was delicious! The decor was a plus. Well definitely be back!
My new favorite sushi place in Huntsville
Very nice, great service easy parking to entrance
Great food and great service! We had live jazz music and it created a great atmosphere. We will be coming back!
My favorite sushi spot in Huntsville. Love the atmosphere- the food is insane. The staff are top notch, attentive and kind. Ive eaten here countless times and will continue for the foreseeable future. Kid-friendliness: Surprisingly my picky eating kids love the chicken and rice here. They beg me to come here.
Only go here if you want your wife to finish your food by the time you get your sushi. Embarrassing dish timing.
Delicious hibachi and seaweed salad!
I love this place. Been there many times!!
10/10 - for me i think this is the best place for shusi . The sashimi is always fress and everything is so nice . The decorations inside is very cute tooo. Highly recommend
First time here for lunch. Will definitely be back!
Good food. Great service and ambiance.
Man was the food great service great atmosphere grear.
A great place to go and grab some sushi and Japanese cuisine. The service is spotty sometimes and seat placement can be strange but overall a great atmosphere and good food!
Absolutely delicious! Our server was very welcoming and so attentive. Will be back!
I came with a friend for lunch. The atmosphere is beautiful and cozy! It clearly used to be an Italian restaurant. It s a bit strange they haven t changed out some of the decor, like the Italian paintings which are the first thing you see upon entering, but the Japanese elements they have added, like the ceiling of parasols and a wall of festival masks, are just lovely. Unfortunately, I wasn t really impressed with the food. My white tuna nigiri was really skimpy but cost more for 2 pieces than many places. The avocado in my salmon roll wasn t ripe and I had to remove some pieces because they were too hard. The clear soup also wasn t very flavorful, and I usually love clear soup. The prices are average for a sushi restaurant but it felt overpriced considering the lackluster flavor. I usually leave a sushi restaurant in bliss (it s my favorite food!), but I was sadly disappointed. The service was decent. We asked for 1 more minute to choose our food and the waitress didn t come back for 15 min. We were in the back, so there weren t any other employees around to flag down. But the food came quickly after we ordered and they checked in with us regularly, but not overly frequently, after that. I ll definitely be back, perhaps for a date night - it s the perfect vibe! But I ll probably try ordering hot food instead. Update: I came back with another friend and ordered the salmon sushi bowl. They gave me 2 pieces less than it was supposed to come with and I had to ask for the full serving. The sushi chef looked really annoyed. It definitely felt like they tried to cheat me out of two pieces our server couldn t understand us either. I probably will go to a different sushi restaurant in the future, which is a pity because this interior is gorgeous!
Nice place with great hibachi options for lunch.
This was some of the best service and best food we have had Japanese style in a long time! Delicious crab Rangoon and hibachi
My favorite asian restaurant.
First time visit. The food, staff and atmosphere were all excellent! Well be back.
This was a great experience. Our waitress Nina was so sweet. The food was great and the atmosphere is beautiful. We will be back and would recommend this place to anyone looking for a great place to go.
We love coming here with our kids because everyone enjoys the food in the service and we have a great time.
This is an excellent restaurant. The food is wonderful, the service is prompt, & the atmosphere is very nice. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
Great sushi!
What a wonderful place to eat and enjoy relaxing atmosphere with such a tasty food! Great place, definitely recommend! Our server Lina was amazing, both times we came here she was outstanding!
Best soup ever! We tried Dashu for the first time last weekend after seeing several comments on the HvillBlast instagram asking people what their favorite sushi in Huntsville was. We had the hibachi chicken entree, a sushi and sashimi lunch combo, and a shrimp tempura roll.
The service is so friendly! The food is delicious; just as good as any hibachi restaurant in Huntsville. The owner even gave us a really nice set of chopsticks to commemorate their first anniversary!
This place is awesome. Everything from Habachi cooked entrees to sushi is excellent. Their bar is cool and there s a lot of space throughout to comfortably hang out with family and friends.
The food and atmosphere was absolutely phenomenal!!!
We love Dashu! I typically get the miso soup, ginger salad, and sushi and they are all excellent! Great service too! They are always friendly and quick to address our needs. Highly recommend!
Had aged tofu appetizers. It was awesome. We also shared several sushi rolls. Everything was delicious. Will be back.
Food was good comparable to Shogun
Great food, great service, and very clean!
My girl loves you so I love you . 10/10
The food was amazing. The owner of the restaurant served us personally. She was so kind and fun. Atmosphere was perfect
Live music, great food, good service Only complaint.... very very cold!! Food
Food was cooked perfectly, not salty, and good portion sizes.
Great all around Parking: We know, is a little hard, however no problem The food, and the service is worth it Food : 5/5 | Service
Foods always good here, the staff and servers are lovely and its just always a pleasant experience coming out to eat here. Usually we go for sushi here, since theres just not really good places in Huntsville, period, to get good sushi. This restaurant is an amazing example for what more Huntsville businesses should strive for, it is a gem of a spot in a sea of, well, not so great things. Shout out to the newer server girl that works there as well, even though its obvious she is lacking in experience, shes really doing her best and it shows & makes up for it
Best sushi in Huntsville! The fish is very high quality. I was amazed how quickly it came to the table. The fried rice was subtle but so flavorful. I definitely recommend.
We have been here and had excellent food, service, and time. Tonight, food very delayed, overcooked, and not representative of past times. Maybe back, dont know.
Very good quality of foods. And they were delicious. I always have been thinking that Sushi would be the same, but they were different. I liked it and this place is the highly recommended place !!!
The first time I tried Dashu, I had the incredible roll which was some of the better sushi I have had in the area. I tried the udon with chicken this time and it was very good as well. Looking forward to trying more
Phenomenal. Food is top notch. The Eel Udon was so good I cant begin to describe the level of flavors. Eat here you wont be disappointed.
First time going and it was great!! Our server was absolutely lovely. She helped with some adult beverages and was on point with her recommendations. The sushi was really good! The atmosphere was very cute. I will definitely try them again.
I went today with my mother and grown son. Great food and service!
From the moment we walked in we were greeted with great service! The food was phenomenal and so was the atmosphere.
Great food and Outstanding Service!
Food and service was good for our party of 10. My shrimp was overcooked but still tasty. I would go again
Food was excellent. 4 stars for service only cuz drinks werent refilled quite as promptly as I would like but I would still recommend a visit. The hibachi steak was chefs kiss.
Food and service were both terrible. The waitress literally shouted out order back at us, brought food out in bits a pieces, and didnt even bring some of it at all. She never came back to check on us either. The shrimp tempura had a very strong fishy taste and smell which leads me to believe it wasnt fresh. The chicken teriyaki is super salty and the sushi didnt seem fresh. Dont recommend and wont be back.
Food was good, but not cuisine as the name implies. Normal prices and normal food. The clear soup was brown and cloudy. The teriyaki chicken was mid. Rainbow roll was decent. Service was awkward and I think we just expected the place to be a bit nicer. Have a weird Tuscany vibe. Maybe it used to be a Johnny Carinos(?).
My friend and I stopped in at Dashu for lunch, a spur of the moment choice, we did no research ahead of time. My first impression was that this restaurant is kept beautifully clean and in order, and the decor is pleasant and inviting. We ordered a teriyaki box and some other dishes to share. The box contained a very modest amount of food: plenty for the grandmother demographic to which I belong but I think most men would feel it was a bit skimpy. The chicken was rather dry, the other components were decent but unremarkable. The staff were friendly and gracious.
Fresh seafood amazing crunchy shrimp and raw scallops. Friendly waitresses and the Sushi bar maker is so accommodating
Friendly and helpful service, and the fried/aged tofu and pork gyoza are great appetizers! The decorations in the restaurant are also beautiful!
Pleasantly surprised by the atmosphere . Our server was amazing for her first day on the job. The place was very clean. Food was good. Ill definitely be back
Kid you not, best sushi I ve tried in Huntsville. Mochi is not to be missed either. Was a memorable dinner, can t wait to go back
Food is good. But a tad more expensive than other hibachi restaurants in the area.
Sushi was fresh and delicious. Pork katsu was crispy and had a nice dipping sauce. Would definitely come back again!
Some of the very best Japanese style food I ve had, probably ever. The service was wonderful. The gyoza were perfect, the tempura shrimp made me mad it was so perfectly done. We had a dragon roll, and it was very good too. I had a dinner box and my husband had chicken hibachi. No complaints. I m looking forward to coming back again.
I Love Sushi was closed for New Years Day. We didnt know this because it said it was open on line. We really wanted sushi so we looked up places on line and found Dashu. Boy, are we glad we did. The food and service was excellant. We have found our new sushi place!
Excellent food and atmosphere. I placed an order for takeout at 8:30 thinking they closed at 10, when they actually closed at 9. They called around closing, I explained the situation and they were super kind and caring. They even waited for me to arrive 15-20 minutes later. Above and beyond service, when their food ia already so good!
Its a great place to stop if you need some Japanese food. I think Id go with the chicken lunch box or noodles next time vs the salmon.
The food was delicious and the staff is very friendly.
The vibe of this place is incredible. I feel like an opera could break out at any moment as I sit below the balcony. The ambiance from the fountain pulls the room together and makes me feel like I m eating in an Italian restaurant in Japan. Complete with the welcoming attitude of the staff that are just about as comforting as a warm hug from Momma. I ll be back next summer, don t wait up.
Really good food with excellent service. The atmosphere is very warm and comfortable. The staff is super friendly and helpful.
We had a large party, service was great! All the food was delicious and fresh. We had lots of sushi, tempura, drinks, hibachi. They have really really good dumplings.
Without a doubt one of the finest Japanese restaurants in Huntsville it is a pleasant and stunning surprise when I find this wonderful restaurant in the middle of a strip mall with little to no advertising. they have phenomenal Cuisine a wonderful relaxed atmosphere and live jazz music on Thursdays youd be missing out to not check it out at least once
Awesome food. Awesome environment, and service was exceptional.
Food is fantastic! The katsu don is crispy and juicy. I also got some sashimi and it was fresh. The haru maki also has great flavor. Theyre fairly new so be patient with the staff.
The inside is very well decorated and creates a nice atmosphere. The food was good and so was the service. Our waitress in the umbrella room was great. Definitely recommend this place.
Food was outstanding, staff very friendly and live music lovely!
I ate a delicious lunch at Dashu yesterday. Everything was delicious but my favorites were the teriyaki salmon, the vegetable pot stickers, the crab Rangoon, the ginger house dressing, ...okay eveything was my favorite. Not only is the fresh sushi/sushimi delicious but it is also beautiful. Ive never eaten at a restaurant that made everything perfectly until Dashu. I have no complaint. I didnt get to try dessert as I was very full. Please consider stopping in for lunch or supper and decide for yourself. Im so happy to have Dashu in our neighborhood.
Amazing place! Food is extremely good and lots of options. Atmosphere is very pleasant and we love the hanging umbrellas!
10/10 recommend. Incredible Japanese food and the sushi was amazing. The environment is gorgeous and so calm. Outdoor seating is available. The service was amazing. Everyone was so sweet and happy to be there.
We dine in atmosphere excellent and food we ordered its delicious veggie tampura tofu teriyaki chicken katsu and sushi other dishes we ordered its delicious also service fantastic. I definitely recommend my friends and family members.
First, beautiful interior and exterior. But for me, those things can only enhance good food. They cannot make mediocre food good. The calamari was extremely chewy, even for calamari and the breading was undercooked and literally dripping with grease. Hibachi chicken was okay. Chicken was overcooked. Vegetables were undercooked. Sushi was decent but a little pricey for the quality. Overall, I dont think Ill return. Sadly this is all indicative of the state of hibachi chicken in Huntsville. Ive tried a dozen places and none of them seem to do it very well. They all seem almost identical in their mediocrity.
The food and service were fantastic. We would definitely recommend. I am so happy to have a great sushi spot in my neighborhood.
Just tried them today! Amazing friendly service. Excellent food! Definitely one of our favorite Japanese restaurants in town! The sushi is delicious, we had a Godzilla roll and it was perfectly balanced, and flavorful! Loved the pork gyoza perfectly crispy and wonderful filling. Also had the yakitori skewers and those were fabulous! Super tender, melt in your mouth chicken, delicious veggies and a perfect teriyaki sauce! Hubby enjoyed his unagi don, which is hard to find locally! There s so many tasty things on the menu we can t wait to come back and try! 10 out of 10 for us :)
The food was delicious but the portions were quite small for the price. We went before the dinner rush and service was quick. The place was filling up as we left, the ambiance is fantastic and people love it. Wheelchair accessibility: Most of the dining space is accessible, but not all. The Sushi is rolled at a counter within dining space only accesed by stairs.
Everything thing was amazing, best sushi in town! Also, the jalapeno yellow tail was better than Nobu!
We stopped in for lunch and had amazing service! Our waitress Lina was so sweet and accompanied with our 2 year old
Luckily we decided to try Dashu for lunch today. I cant emphasize enough - the service and food was exceptional. Among the best. Highly recommended!
Best sushi in town, beautiful place! You better try the mussels OMG!!!
Excellent food and service
We were super excited about a Japanese restaurant weve never been to. Interior looks like a semi-fancy Italian restaurant with enough Japanese decorations to be off-putting and odd classical music playing. Service was quick but not particularly clear in speech. Its not something to truly hold against the server, but it does stand out. We also had to stop the server to get refills on water instead of her staying on top of them and we were not asked how our meal was. The food is where I really thought the ambiance and the pricing were disproportionate. $115 with tip for three people. We ordered a roll to split, a hibachi plate, and two teriyaki dinners. Middling: The Shrimp Tempura Roll was nothing special but not bad. Salad was watery but tasted fine, miso soup wasnt as briny as Im used to and it was missing mushrooms but it was fine. Good: Teriyaki scallops were well-cooked, and the teriyaki was thankfully not sweet. Steaks were correctly cooked, although not seasoned. Gyoza was well cooked and tasty. The tempura had been properly fried, and there were no complaints on that front. Bad: Chicken was dry and overcooked. Fried rice is infinitely underseasoned. The California rolls were disgusting and honestly just tasted overwhelmingly of cucumber skins, no equal amounts of avocado or shredded crab to offset the grassy taste. To be honest, I cant say I would give this restaurant another chance when I can get pretty much everything I got from them at Hibachi on Whitesburg or I Love Korea on Jordan Lane for a slight cut in cost and moderately better taste and quality. But please try it for yourself and see if you agree. Wheelchair accessibility: Tight, narrow corners and stairs. Not particularly friendly for the handicapable from what I was able to see
Atmosphere is immaculate! Very peaceful and fancy. Wonderful experience
Food was amazing and the staff was very nice.
Fantastic food and exemplary customer service. Ill definitely be going back! Vegetarian options: Several tofu dishes.
Delicious food and super friendly and prompt service!
Dashu has excellent food, service, value and atmosphere. This place is a hidden gem.
Once you get past the decor, this place is amazing. Food is high quality and comes out fast. The staff was very friendly and attentive. We each ordered the three roll lunch special and enjoyed our rolls. The harumaki was also very good. Dietary restrictions: Lots of vegan, vegetarian, dairy-free, and gluten free options. Kid-friendliness: Saw high chairs and child-friendly menu items.
First time at the restaurant, and had a great lunch. Sake recommendation was great. Had gyoza, hibachi shrimp, and 3 rolls. Everything was tasted great. The rolls could had been slightly better, but the hibachi and gyoza were fantastic. Will definitely be coming back and trying the other dishes.
Beautiful umbrella room ! Food is great, love talking to the staff. Really good experience
First time here. Food was great. We had Chicken teriyaki and Steak Hibachi. All came with soup, salad, and fried rice. It came with yum yum sauce. Delicious. Ordered vegetables appetizers. It came with some sauce. Very good. Also ordered the sushi. Avocado and something else. Good though. Outdoor seating and good ambience. We sat outside. Service was average compared to other restaurants I have been to. Bathroom was cleaned and well stocked. Recommend and will return.
Ive been waiting for this place to finally open, and the first impression was worth the wait. Our server was absolutely charming and the food was delicious. The mochi ice cream and hibachi dinner really hit the spot, and Im looking forward to trying the sushi next time
Enjoyed the Teriyaki Tofu. The miso soup was really good, too.
High marks for the teriyaki, esp tofu!
The atmosphere was 10/10, the food was delicious and came out sizzling, and the service was amazing! I highly recommend and will definitely be frequenting. Vegetarian options: The tofu was delicious
Best sushi around! Fresh and masterfully prepared. Friendly folks, professional service and a very clean and inviting environment. Good value for the money. Highly recommended for a night out.
Would definitely recommend if you re looking for great Japanese food! Sit on the patio!
Great new Japanese
What an incredible experience! The food, the service and the unbelievable atmosphere! WE WILL BE BACK ON A REGULAR BASIS!
The Jalapeno Yellowtail is my favorite dish ever and their hibachi is AMAZING! highly recommend this place!
Worth the visit: Customer service 10 we got there at 9:05. They closed at 10 and they (from The bar to the servers) still treated us as if it wasnt almost closing time. Didnt rush us, was VERY pleasant and continuously checked to make sure we were satisfied. Food 4.5 I loved the sweet potatoe sushi. It was a little crunchy, a little sweet, a little salty. The perfect balance of texture and taste. I ordered the salmon hibachi (it included rice, veggies and salmon). Everything tasted excellent. With the salmon, I was expecting a bit more of a crisp or fry on top, But it was still good and well cooked. I only took a half point because the veggies were slightly over cooked but I still didnt mind it at all! The flavor was there. Atmosphere 5 it was clean, very few people, calm, relaxing and welcoming. I will be going back.
I dont know what resturant these other reviewers went to because it certainly isnt this one. I have been twice, both during peak times, and my parties have been the only ones seated with maybe the exception of one other party, but I couldnt be sure due the loud TVs playing (why would they play the news loudly during lunch?). The food we received on every occasion was bland and sometimes even disgusting. The sushi tasted like they used unseasoned rice wine vinegar and the the nori was stale. The avocado in the California rolls was mostly brown and the tuna in the spicy tuna tasted almost rancid with weird dark spots. The rice was super bland and only looked to include egg and a small bit of salt, if any. The tempura vegetables were super watery and the panko coating was sloughing off. Any meats we ordered were seriously overcooked. The egg drop soup was bitter and sour as was the giner salad dressing. The only saving grace was the yakitori sauce on the chicken, but even that was layered on too much. On top of all of that, service was slow and slightly rude despite us being the only table each time. This was our experience on more than one occasion. I tried to see what everyone else in these reviews did, but it just isnt there. I dont know how there are so many 5 star reviews. Do yourself a favor and just go to Aki
Great sushi, some of the best.
The Sushi, Sashimi, Goyza, and Shumai were excellent.
Went here for lunch for the first time today. My God, it was incredible! They took over an old French restaurant, and it shows a little bit, but they put a massive Japanese flair on it. The atmosphere is wonderful, our waitress was incredibly kind and friendly, constantly saying thank you and making positive comments. The food was wonderful as well. I got the Chicken Katsu and my wife got the Chicken Soba Noodles and both plates were amazing, especially the Katsu with the Japanese BBQ sauce. The portions are far larger than I expected, so we ended up having enough to take home!! Were already planning a double date to bring some friends along next time and look forward to trying the Sake and maybe the Mochi!
The sushi is great, but the yaki noodle dishes are too soupy.
Ordered fried calamari and sushi boat for two. Both were fantastic. Service was quick and polite. Live music was soft and lovely. Great find!
Very relaxed restaurant with great food and great customer service. I feel like this place is underrating and deserves more business.
My husband & I shared Hibachi Shrimp. It was really good. It came with Miso Soup, a salad with ginger dressing, fried rice & mixed vegetables. The waitress, Avis, was very pleasant & on top of her game. Í Parking: Its along a strip mall and there is a small parking lot out in front
Food made both me and my wife sick. I think the California rolls were bad. The main entrée were good.
Wow
New local entry into the Japanese restaurant scene. Excellent quality food. Superior service. Calamari was ok. Live guitar music adds to the nice dining experience.
Mostly good, I had three fried appetizers for my meal, the scallops were awesome, the soft-shell crab and the oysters needed to be bigger but they tasted great. One of my lunch companions found a long hair in her spicy tuna roll. Needless to say, it was replaced. The replacement was a different role and much better.
Great service and very clean
Absolutely fantastic! Walking in, the atmosphere is so nice and cute! The host was so polite and nice and sat us at a table in the bar. Our server was honestly one of the best servers weve ever had. She was so nice and polite and personable. She interacted with my son so well, too! Then the food - AMAZING! We had chicken katsu and the Alabama roll. Both were served beautifully and tasted delicious. Then we had the fried cheesecake and it was great! The tempura breading on it was so light and perfect. My almost 9 year old son says The food was incredible and amazing. The best restaurant I have ever been to!
Out of towner, I was really craving sushi and they even had uni as a special. I had that, along with a specialty roll and was very impressed. It was great sushi. Definitely recommend.
One of the best places to get sushi in Huntsville, great atmosphere and great service.
First off, I have to mention the service. To put it simply, I felt like I was at my grandmothers. The kindness and consideration surpassed what you would expect even of a close friend. The food is both fresh and delicious. And the atmosphere is both fun and quirky! If I could give 6 stars, I would.
The best authentic Japanese food that I have had in a long time! Great customer service!
Very fresh and delicious. Very attentive staff, they even brought out a birthday dessert for me! Will go again. (Plus, they had a live jazz duo)
Beautiful place with AMAZING food. Mexican Roll is fantastic!
Truly a gem in Huntsville and some of the best sushi I ve eaten in any city. Owners and staff are very friendly and helpful and always good for a recommendation on what s fresh and new. Celebrate this place Huntsville We need it!
Great atmosphere, good sushi for Huntsville and service was solid.
This is such a cute restaurant! Everyone we encountered was so friendly! The soup and salad were delicious however, we preferred the miso soup. Fried rice was perfect, probably the best I ve had! We will definitely be back!
Gorgeous restaurant, and the staff is so kind, friendly, and caring. Came here for lunch and the food was absolutely delicious! I cant wait to go back again and tell more people about it Vegetarian options: For lunch I had the vegetable gyoza and vegetable hibachi with fried rice - both were fantastic!
We really liked the atmosphere. I loved the quiet nooks and mellow jazz. The decor still belies its Tuscan roots, even though bravely varnished with an Asian motif. TVs were a puzzling intrusion on the peace of the decor. The service was great. The food was not a strength.
The service was prompt, friendly, courteous. Our waitress was super efficient!!! The food was phenomenal!!! Great sushi rolls (Tiger Roll and Incredible Roll are super!! Fried oyster appetizer was tasty (the sauce is ok). This was our second visit and will definitely not be our last!!
Great food, friendly staff! One of my favorite places in Huntsville.
Food here was just ok. I cant say it was bad but it wasnt anything to write home about either. Some of the sushi smelled and tasted fishy. The Manhattan I ordered was just not good either. Tasted very watered down if that makes sense.
MUST VISIT! A HIDDEN GEM I am absolutely floored by how amazing this place was. The sushi selection was great and frankly, best sushi I ve had in years. The mochi Ice cream was to die for ( my husband hates it and even he HAD to have more!!) But aside from the food being amazing and worth every penny, or the establishment being, by far, the prettiest restaurants I have been to in Huntsville; their service takes the cake. My husband and I shared our anniversary with our 1 year old this year. He was fuzzy from the minute we got in. One of the employees ( Nina) asked us if she could hold him. He proceeded to just in her arms and Nina took care of him virtually our whole meal in hopes that we could enjoy our meal. She walked him around and played the piano with him all while giving us 10/10 service. I mean, this business leaves you with your belly full and your heart the most full. These employees truly gave us something we could never pay back. So we leave this review so you all GO EXPERIENCE THE GREAT FOOD AND SERVICE! Parking: In front of the restaurant. About 20 spots available Kid-friendliness: Although a nicer restaurant, the staff does their absolute best to accommodate and make children feel welcome ! Wheelchair accessibility: Accessible for people with disabilities
The waitress couldnt speak english which made ordering VERY DIFFICULT. The yum yum sauce didnt have any flavor but the sushi was good. As for the atmosphere, they had the lights very bright for the dinner crowd and it made the place feel like a cheap fast food restaurant but you pay for fine dinning.
We went to Dashu for lunch and it was so good! The restaurant was not very crowded and the food came out quickly. Our server was SO kind and polite, she was awesome. We had hibachi and sushi, both were really great. The only thing we didn t like was that the fried rice could ve used more seasoning. The interior of the restaurant is an interesting mix of Italian from the former restaurant using the space with some updated Japanese decor, we thought it was cute. Definitely on our list now for one of the best Japanese restaurants in Huntsville!
This is the best kept secret in Huntsville. Wonderful food, great atmosphere, and the best staff make this a must visit. Our family loves Dashu!
Very friendly staff. Great food! A tad pricey but nothing unrealistic. Nice place, good atmosphere. Will go again for sure.
Do yourself a favor and come eat here!!! This place is amazing! My daughter and I stopped in for some sushi. We were blown away from the moment we stepped inside. The absolutely beautiful decor and friendly staff sat us. I knew right away we were in for a treat. The sushi was some of the freshest we have had in a while and the selection was fantastic! We will definitely be back.
Hibachi Chicken
Was delicious, they had options on their menu that were very affordable but also some very pricey. Went on a whim for anniversary. Staff very friendly. Overall was a great date night!
Loved everything about the restaurant! The steak was a little overdone, but the seasoning and sauce were tasty. I loved the fried rice, the sushi, and the wine. Wife really loved the atmosphere. We will be back soon! Vegetarian options: Does any culture have better vegetarian options than the Asian culture? I honestly dont think so. This Japanese restaurant is no exception. There are plenty of dishes and sushi for any diner. Dietary restrictions: This staff is really professional. Wheelchair accessibility: Ramps were available and traditional tables. So, no pesky booths to make you feel excluded.
Great atmosphere and service! Our waitress was very kind! however the food was sub par and a bit of a letdown. The hibachi chicken was very bland and the chicken was dry. It was served as a side of rice, unseasoned veggies, and a side of dry chicken with barely any sauce on it. I d recommend grabbing sushi here instead! The roll we had was delicious ! (I think it was their Out of Control roll) We also enjoyed their appetizer of shrimp dumplings as well, although be warned it s a small portion.
What a nice find! Expensive looking atmosphere, but affordable prices! Food was quick and excellent! Kid-friendliness: Kids choices as well.
I love this place. Perfect date night atmosphere. The food was fantastic, the service was even better. Highly recommended the hibachi dinner boxes. This place is a hidden gem for you Japanese cravings.
Authentic Japanese food. Fish is fresh and tastes amazing. Got sashimi, super good. Worth the money. Only downside is that it is expensive, but worth every bit of it. Vegetarian options: Has visual indicators for dishes that have raw fish. Dietary restrictions: Mostly gluten free. I dont eat sugar or wheat and I found I could eat most if not all of the dishes Kid-friendliness: They have cute little food for children
We had such a great dining experience. The food was great, and the service was fantastic. Get the Incredible roll. It is properly named.
Wonderful dining experience each time. My go-to sushi spot!! Restaurant was clean, service was great, food super yummy, & large saké selection. Maybe the largest selection in the HSV area. Do yourself a favor & order the incredible roll (aptly named), edamame, & saké.
Superb sushi in a quaint bistro-like atmosphere. Our server was wonderfully kind and attentive.
So good! I love the decorations/atmosphere. So heres the deal, we only ate sushi and calamari; lol that and the salad. The sushi was great. It was made and brought out fairly quickly, especially when compared to other joints. The waitress was very nice and attentive. Also she could read the roomper se. All in all it was very good and well be back. The only issue Id say is theres not enough booths. Comfortability is a big deal and their seats are not. Otherwise its hard to complain. Try them out
Usually not a person to leave reviews, but it s important to let everyone know of great new places in Huntsville. The service and atmosphere is amazing, as well as the food being fresh. The chicken and rice tastes like it was cooked right in front of you (I always feel otherwise at Japanese places without the grill), as well as having so many sushi options. One of my new favorite places that deserves a lot more attention.
5 stars! Wonderful atmosphere, great food Wheelchair accessibility: Hosts are very friendly and helpful Food : 5/5 |
This place is amazing. Best Japanese in Huntsville!!! Edo s closed and left a big void, so glad this place came along. So worth the trip!!!
Dashu was fantastic! Best Japanese in Huntsville hands down. Our service was fantastic, we didnt get her name but she was above and beyond. She taught lots of new things about sake and made great recommendations. The sushi was fresh, delicious and very fast. All hot food came out with sushi perfectly timed. Tempura was perfect. Steak cooked perfect. We will definitely be repeat customers! And highly recommend!
Very nice looking Japanese restaurant. It has a bar and a good bit of seating. Its got about anything you can think of, from hibachi to sushi. I got the beef dinner box as well as a glass of white peach sake. Everything in the box was delicious, and is a good deal as it has a little bit of everything in it. It had enough in it as well for a second meal, which is a plus to me. The edamame was cooked well and salted just right.
I can not say enough good things about this place. The Sushi is quality, the atmosphere is top notch, and the staff is above and beyond. They made my girlfriends birthday absolutely perfect, and I cant thank them enough.
Great food. Very fast. Have been twice and will be a regular.
I loved going to this place. It is very clean and very well decorated. The restaurant is very well decorated. The food was very tasty. I will definitely return.
A great place to eat!
Went here for a date night on the recommendation of a few friends and it did not disappoint! One of the owners ended up being our server and was so friendly and accommodating and provided GREAT suggestions. The sushi was delicious and some of the best Ive had in Huntsville. We will be making this our go-to sushi spot.
Large portions. Great environment. Friendly staff. My only complaint is that people in my party who ordered hibachi were almost finished with their food by the time the sushi orders came out. However, it was my sons birthday and they saw we had a present to open and brought him out fried ice cream at the end. It was really sweet. Kid-friendliness: 3 hibachi options with a side of rice on the kids menu
Wow. Everything here from the service to the freshness of the food. 10/10. We can t wait to come back, and recommend to everyone we know!
Anytime I am looking for sushi on this side of town this is my go to! Great roll options and quick service.
I wish I had tried this place sooner! The Hibachi steak was delicious.
Really great experience, love the food, great service, nice decor Parking: Small parking area, cant be helped Food : 5/5 |
The best tempura Ive had in decades. The ginger dressing on the house salad was made in house and was so good. 5/5 stars Food
We were not sure what to expect here, but we were very pleased with the atmosphere, there were two gentlemen playing light jazz, and the place was a buzz with people having a good time. The wait staff were friendly and quick. We received everything with good timing, and the food was delicious. I devoured my entire plate! I highly recommend Dashu if you are wanting good Japanese Hibachi, but not wanting the show.
My favorite place. Great service and great food.
First visit to Dashu. I ordered pork gyoza and they were excellent. Probably the best Ive had in a long time. Similar to what I would have while living in Japan. My dinner, Chicken Hibachi came with a salad (or soup if you prefer) that i didnt really like. The ginger dressing was lacking in flavor, and texture enough that i didnt finish it. The chicken and fried rice main course was not bad but also not amazing. I finished it and some of the vegetables that came with. The vegetables seemed to be steamed and not cooked with the rest of the meal like I would have expected for a hibachi dish.
Great food and great service! We recently visited during dinner time, it was our first time there and we are super impressed with everything! The menu selection is great! The food was amazing and the service was outstanding, We will definitely be back and it is our new favorite place to eat, whether it be a casual or special occasion dinner. I wish more restaurants had all these great qualities.
