Steakhouse and Pub Restaurant
Great steaks, great atmosphere great location. I had a great meal. The staff was friendly and fun. Thank you.
Muskoka on the Rock is an absolute gem! We recently visited this charming steakhouse with our large party of 20, which included 8 lively kids, and I can confidently say it was one of the best dining experiences we've had in a long time. First and foremost, the restaurant is incredibly family-friendly. They offer a well-thought-out kid's menu that kept our little ones happy and satisfied. Despite the noise and energy from our group, the staff remained nothing but polite and accommodating. They even surprised the kids with free ice cream at the end of our meal, which was a delightful touch! Accessibility is clearly a priority here, with a ramp making it easy for all guests to enter and enjoy the space. Inside, the restaurant boasts a spacious and open layout, which is perfect for large groups like ours. The interior has an old rustic charm that feels wonderfully nostalgic yet incredibly clean and well-maintained. It’s the kind of place that immediately feels like home. The service was impeccable from start to finish. The family that runs the business treated us with such warmth and care, making us feel like part of their extended family. Every need we had was met with a smile, and they handled our large group with grace and efficiency. The outdoor patio is another highlight, especially during the weekends when a live band sets the perfect backdrop for a relaxing evening. The combination of great food, music, and a beautiful setting makes this place a fantastic getaway spot. Its proximity to Deerhurst Resort only adds to its appeal, making it an inescapable destination for anyone looking to unwind and enjoy a great meal. Muskoka on the Rock is a relatively new addition to the area, but it has quickly become a must-visit. Whether you're looking for a place to enjoy a family dinner, catch some live music, or simply escape the hustle and bustle of daily life, this restaurant has it all. We’ll definitely be returning, and I highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area!
Steaks are amazing, ribs are meaty and delicious, wings are flavourful, nice selection of beer on tap. This place is a must stop for us anytime we are in the Muskoka area.
For the first time in 20+ years, I decided it was time to try steak again and I couldn’t have come to a better place. Muskoka Rocks is super friendly, relaxing and inviting. Although I was earlier than most, it gave me time to ask the waitress for assistance on choosing the right steak for me. Michelle, my waitress, was incredibly informative , kind and helpful. She suggested I try the leaner, smaller steak at 6 ounces, which, was served with a bevy of fresh mashed garlic potatoes and steamed veggies which turned out to be an excellent choice. I highly recommend Muskoka Rocks Restaurant for their delicious home style cooking, great atmosphere and superb service. 🤗
This was our second visit. We had the same waitress both times and she remembered us despite it being very busy the first time we went. On our first visit we all had fish and chips and it was great. Tonight we tried the steak. Some of us had the ribeye and some the New York strip. The picture is the New York strip. Everyone was very happy with the cook on the steaks and they were delicious. The waitress mentioned the ceasar salad is very popular and the dressing is homemade. It was honestly the best ceasar salad I've ever had. It's also a very cute and homey atmosphere. We'll definitely be back!
We stopped at this cozy place for lunch while travelling to Algonquin. We ordered a Catch of the day which was Salmon then ...it was so buttery and rich! Chicken pot pie is something you should definitely try. For dessert we ordered their strawberry cheesecake which was amazingly delicious! The staff here are sweet and helpful if you ask for suggestions or need any clarifications.
Cozy little place with friendly service and great food. We had lunch there last weekend on a Sunday ride and really enjoyed it. I will definitely be going back. The wings and fish were delicious. Another friend had the Philly Steak sandwich and it was also good. I only wish they had Guinness on tap.
Food was excellent! Our server Brooke was amazing! She was full of smiles, very polite, professional, and truly cared about our food allergy. My husband and I both have Celiac, and she made sure that the cook was fully aware, and our food was cooked without the use of gluten ingredients. She than advised us she has informed the chef, and our meals will be safe to enjoy. We will be returning for dinner again tomorrow for Prime Rib! We are staying at the Deerhurst Resort for the weekend, and if you are ever in the Huntsville area, I would highly recommend this restaurant. Great prices, delicious food, and excellent service.
The food was good.
The burger is so dry
Wonderful experience evertime Have bee coming for 24 years Food
I have no hesitation in giving this place a five-star rating. This was our first meal in Huntsville. When we walked into the store, we were made to feel welcome by the friendly staff who were friendly and helpful. Every dish was delicious and at first we were worried about ordering too much, but we ate them all! If you are a tourist, be sure to try carrot cake, a classic Canadian dessert. We couldn t praise it enough.
Very busy place not managed well waitressing staff run around like chickens with heads cut off. Good thjng we made a reservation as it was busy. Was thinking it is the only place around area to eat at but obviously went left instead of right. Not really the best steak in town as it boasts.
Best onion soup
Nice time with family and new friends.
Family atmosphere Friendly
Excellent staff and an awesome menu.
The worst steak dinner I have ever had service worse
Amazing steak and the best staff!
Cozy place to eat very near where we stayed. Food was well seasoned, and hot. We got hamburgers: swiss, muskoka and peppercorn, all good and around $16-$18 each. You can pick which toppings youd like (tomatoes, lettuce, pickles, onions, hot peppers). Add ketchup, mustard or relish yourself. We also ordered fried fish, the sea salt and malt crusted pickerel special ($30, I think) which comes with a side of steamed veggies and a potato of choice (french fries, baked, mashed, etc) and the fish and chips ($20, $7.50 for a second piece of fish). Fish size was generous. Id say the fish and chips are more worth the deal than the special. Add a salad for around 5$ and you get a vegetable and still would be under the price for the special. The caesar salad was generous on the dressing. Id have preferred to add my own, as it was slightly much for me. Server knew some local beers to recommend. They were friendly, attentive, and fast. They know the menu well. We finished our meals within an hour, due to fairly quick service. If you want to guarantee a spot, make a reservation. Space is decorated with country-style décor. Tables are a little closer together than I would wish for. The menu had some vegetarian options, but not many vegetable-centric options aside from salads.
We do not usually eat pub food, but this place hits the spot. We were very well received and we had two enjoyable and satisfying meals. Thanks.
Stopped by with family visiting from NZ and had the best steak dinner! Also ordered salmon dinner, which was easily 5 stars. Server was lovely, food came quickly even though the restaurant was busy and there was lots of space outside for our kids to run around. Food
So disappointed in the poor quality of their food now. We used to go to the restaurant in 2009. We gave them great reviews back then, but not now. We will not return.
Just a lovely spot to grab a meal. The food was excellent (Cobb salad, fish and chips, salmon, new York strip) and the service friendly and efficient. We would definitely return. Highly recommended.
Great local spot! Ice cold beer, good food and a great atmosphere. Food came out quick and tasted amazing.
Great local pub! , a good variety of brew, nice crowd , ........excellent home fries !!
Hidden little gem.
Best food ever !! Everything on the menu was top notch
Burger was ok, sweet potato fries were very good. The air conditioning is too cold for us Europeans
Lunch food like my club wrap sandwich was fantastic. It was larger than expected, plenty of bacon etc and came with a choice of salad or fries. Choice of beer is limited. Very few ales available. Had to settle with a Ricards Red. No house brew on tap that I know of . But the food was better than expected and the service was super friendly.
Simply delicious fresh home style menu, comfortable old-time cabin cottage decor and well-stocked pub. Building appears humble on the outside, and could easily be dismissed as a drive-by. This is why we took so long to try this restaurant, but will be regular customers from now on.
The banquet burger was delicious and the service was top notch
Nice find outside of Huntsville Reasonably price, good food and great staff makes it our go to local pub Food
Hot nice workers. Food was great and good pochans. Lots of nice old signs. Cabin like. Bar too and just need a pool table or darts.
Great service with a waitress with s sense of humor, food was delicious and reasonably priced Would go back again Food
Love this restaurant! The server was friendly & the food came out fast. Everything we had was delicious! We will definitely return the next time were in Huntsville.
Having ordered a burger with a local patty and fries (for an additional fee), the burger was frankly bad, the patty was overcooked, I think if we draw a parallel, it was like the sole of a shoe. The fries were also overcooked. The waiters simply apologized The atmosphere is pleasant.
Great hidden gem with great food and to top it off the beer was cold!
Great food every time we go. The staff is very friendly.
Wonderful dinner here new years eve. Food was amazing. Service was amazing.
Nothing special here. Food was just ok. Nachos claimed to be the best, were probably the worst Ive had at any restaurant.
We tried to like this place, it was recommended to us and we drove 45 minutes to get there. Very overpriced for the atmosphere and food quality level. My steak was not great and my husband s prime rib could have been more generously portioned. We were first seated at a tiny table for two right in the middle, even though the restaurant was not at all full. We were ultimately moved to the other room with a larger table. Probably won t return.
Conviviality!
Food was excellent. Fast friendly service. Atmosphere was relaxed. We would definitely recommend.
Amazing! We went in on a Saturday night it was super busy but the bar tender asked if we were ok to sit at the bar and we were perfectly good with that! We had one of the specials which was prime rib and oh my goodness it was wonderful! Our server (the bar tender, I wish I remembered her name!) Was also amazing. The staff we spoke to were all really nice!
Very nice little restaurant to visit if you are in the Deerhurst area. Due to staffing shortages their hours are limited but definitely a must to visit!
Excellent dinner for the money. Had the steak special.
Great stop on the sled trail.
Always a great eat!
Cozy place with great service!
We ordered fish and chips. It was okay, probably one of the better ones in the area. No coleslaw with the fish. The fries wear bit on the cool side. Our server was very friendly, it was nice and refreshing
The fish and chips were delicious. Would highly recommend. Thank you to our server Laurence for the wonderful service.
Salmon was delicious as was the steak and shrimp. We had very personable server. Glad we stopped on our way through!
very friendly staff and best french onion soup ever!
Great place to stop for a quick bite.
Good food and service. The nachos are great! Swiss burger in the picture.
When we got there, the special of steak, shrimp, and scallops for $ 29. 99 was all sold Out .So the server said that theyre replacing that special with steak, Double baked potato and Caesar salad, so we ordered that . The Double baked potato was a mushy blob about half an inch or 3/4 of an high and a very small Caesar salad and a small steak and they charged us $39.99. We are not tourists we live here year round and havent been there for a long time and probably wont go back !! Very disappointed.
The food was delicious however the low review is because two nights in a row, because we happened to be the last customer in the place when dessert was served, they turned off the music (which I was enjoying), to pressure us to gulp down our food and leave so they could go home. The second night their website said they were open till 8:30 pm, and we were served dessert at 8:00 pm. I was sure it wouldn t happen again because we were earlier and I knew we would finish well before 8:30pm. But again it happened. I won t be returning!
Amazing service! Amazing food! Think its worth the drive! Always a good sign when the parking lots are full! Food : 5/5
Where to start Was recommended this restaurant by a local resident. We arrived, ordered drinks then dinner. When dinner arrived, my steak was cooked well done when I ordered medium, received mashed when I ordered baked. My wife ordered a burger and was not even close to being cooked. My sons steak was cooked medium (or less) when he ordered medium well. After letting our server know, she took all plates away, including utensils. Ten minutes or so later, our dinners arrived again, without utensils, which we had to ask for. My steak came back as medium which was good, but I received mashed again instead of baked. My sons steak came back well done, he wanted medium well. My wife s burger came back cooked, actually over cooked. We should have sent these back again, but didn t. I did ask about the baked potato and did receive on a single plate ten minutes later. Manager/owner did come by and apologize, but we were offered no compensation, coffee, desert or anything for the major mistakes. We paid our bill, left a 12% tip which I thought was generous. The most egregious thing was as we were leaving, our server gave me a dirty look. I cannot overemphasize, do not waste your money at this place.
Everything on the menu is something you want to try. We all really enjoyed our meals, and the waitress was lovely and brought our son a little ice cream snack on the house. Best sweet potato fries Ive ever had. Great place with a nice back patio.
Heather was a great server, asking and making sure the gluten free options were remembered and stood by. The atmosphere is cute and relaxing and the food was really good.
We had a great afternoon in the park and had a wonderful meal before heading back home. The parking lot was full but we were seated and served very quickly. Our waitress was attentive and helpful even at the end of a shift. All in all, it was an excellent time and the food was excellent!
Great people, food and service
UPDATE: returned after a year and still cant get over how delicious and tender the fish is here. will not eat anywhere else! Petu approved. loved the food, friendly and fast service. cozy pub-like atmosphere with a wide choice of beers with many on tap! appealing decor too. every annual winter getaway in the area, we look for somewhere to eat. No more, this is it!
Michael was wonderful, the best service ever, the food was amazing the steak was perfect and delicious, we will come back soon very very soon!!! Thank you for the kindness and warm welcome!!! We love it Food : 5/5
Absolutely loved this place! The steak was top notch
Dinner out with friends to celebrate Labour Day.
Great food! And the Muskookie was delicious.
The cook did an awesome job
Nice Pub which offers great food for a reasonable price! The staff was very friendly We had one of the Burgers and the Ribs - it was delicious!
Prices good, service great, food was meh. Wasnt terrible, but wasnt good either. Was edible. Coffee was great, service fantastic
Food was OK. Waitress seemed like she was in a rush to take our orders and not very friendly.
Just had dinner with my husband, I had the fish and shrimp combo, my husband had the Swiss cheese burger. Neither of us liked our meal. We both were disappointed. We are on our way to McDonalds
Exceptional food, salmon was amazing!
Good value, good food and a friendly staff
I stopped by on the way from Algonquin. The food was ok, but nothing remarkable. I had fish with sweet potato fries. The fries were slightly burned. The waitress was very nice and attentive. An ok place for a quick bite on the way. But not the one I would be looking forward to come back.
My chicken Kiev was tough and I couldnt detect any garlic. Jacket potato tasted as though it had been cooked yesterday and warmed up. The carrot cake was very good.
Great food and service always
Food was delicious and great service.
Amazing food! The French onion soup tastes like heaven. I happened to be here after 3 years and yet the quality of food was just the same and so was the service.
Used to be one of the best options near Huntsville, but its declined over the last five years. Food is alright, but for the price its not that great a value. Better options in town now with better draft beer options and more meal options for the price.
Great food. Good people just not very well lit I guess. Nothing bad. Just put the money a little like Im in my friends basement in the 80s.
Wheelchair accessibility: Perfect for someone who has a walker Food
A perfect spot to stop and enjoy their delicious and generous dishes. Id highly recommend this place to have a hot meal
It is a great spot to hangout with a cozy setting. Service was fast and great. Menu was good as well with different quick options easy to read. Even with the pandemic they are reasonable priced and decent portion. Certainly recommend.
Best meal out ever. We went on New Years Day for a birthday dinner. Quickly and politely screened, shown to our table and from then on we had perfectly attentive service all evening. My steak was delicious, cooked just as ordered, and was the tenderest striploin I can remember. My daughter ordered a burger from the gluten free menu, and had to double check that the bun was in fact GF as it was so fluffy! A good single malt to round off.. only two or three to choose from but all would have been great. Will be back!
Good food at reasonable prices with a friendly server. Nice evening out.
Between the two of us we got a banquet burger and a friend chicken sandwich. The burger was hand made and excellent. The chicken was lacking though. Their fries were hand made but soggy which might have been because it was take out.
Muskoka on the Rocks has amazing wings, great food overall, friendly staff. Lots of parking and wheelchair accessible.
Good food great service
Was staying at a nearby inn, so came here for dinner after a long-day hiking. Probably one of the top choices in the area. We came right before the snowstorm hit so it was just our table and one other regular sitting at the bar. The place was very chill. Food was ok. The deep fried clamaro and my Muskoka Burger were authentic but not impressive. Service was nice, the waitress girl was friendly. Id recommend this place if you are with one of the inns in this area and not planning to travel far to dine.
Thought wed try this place and make the drive out to Hillside and grab some takeout. Very disappointing to say the least. If I could give this place a big fat ZERO I would. The staff were very rude as was the so-called manager that I had spoken to on the phone afterwards. My wife and I had ordered to two rib eye steak dinners which were very thinly cut and looked more like flank steaks. When I had addressed this to the manager she claimed that there were no other complaints in the restaurant that night. Really? lol. We know our meats and it is shameful that they are even serving and charging that price for steaks. Plus both were not made to order as we directed. My wifes steak was so tough that she couldnt even cut into it and the vegetables were not fully cooked and barely worth $20.00. This tells this a lot about this place which probably is not very clean. But OK have it your way! Enjoy your final sale..
Was there for a gathering it was great service and staff were not pushy.
Great food friendly staff.
Service is great and they provide generous portions. The food is your average diner experience and nothing special
When the food was brought, it did not look top quality. But when I took my first bite, I realized that I was wrong! The food was absolutely delicious and probably one of the best ceaser salad wraps I ever had! My only complaint, and the reason I am giving 4/5 is that the food was quite expensive. And even though the food was really good, it was still completely overpriced. The waitress was very nice though which may be a reason I gave it 4/5 instead of 3/5. If money may not be an issue, I HIGHLY recommend going here and getting their ceaser salad wrap :)
Delicious and fast and very friendly service.
Our server was very kind, she was great with the kids and very accommodating.
Good food and service. Very popular. Best to make reservations.
Food amazing, service excellent. Cant wait to go back!!
While the service was reasonable, the food tasted, sub par, and below average, basic use of spices and thin cuts of steak, the prices simply do not reflect the quality of food.
Ribsteak was very good--worth the money! Prime rib was also worth the money!! Will definitely come again!!
Service was great and the food was good too! I ordered some extra just before I left and it was ready super fast.
Just dined there June 15th. Incredibly over-priced! Both had rib eyes that were so thin and tough...not a rib eye that I would BBQ..mine is thick, as it should be!!! Caesar salad was good, but add an extra $1.99 for bacon. Really, anyone who knows food, bacon is always an ingredient of a Caesar salad. The best was an extra $3.99 for an ounce of peppercorn sauce that came with Sirloin special!!!!!! Not worth the PRICE!
Great service. Great food
Amazing restaurant the waitress we had was awesome the food was so good must visit best restaurant
Excellent service. Steak was delicious.
Fantastic burgers!!!
>45 minute wait for appetizers and most of the food was almost tasteless. $12 for reheated frozen veggies on rice...
Great food, friendly staff. The daily specials are always spot on
Awesome food and service out of this world, very kind and friendly. Food is very reasonably priced. Definitely will be coming back.
This establishment is absolutely amazing. We come here frequently when in Algonquin park and the surrounding area. The people are super friendly and personable. There is a nice patio in the back and quite a bit of seating inside. They have an excellent selection of draft beer which we definitely had a few of. The food is definitely worth the price and is delicious. We just got out of a 10 day trip in the park and were starving. We started with the escargot which was supurb. We got the 16oz t-bone special with corn on the Cobb, veggies and a loaded baked potato plus a side Greek salad. After being completely stuffed we decided to order dessert to go. We got the whisky cherry cheese cake and the pecan flann. I cannot express how delicious both of these were!!! This restaurant is highly recommended and is a must stop if you are in the area!
The servers were wonderfully kind and the fish and chips was surprisingly delicious.
Great food. Patio ambiance was a little awkward. Small, and very quiet as you could hear everybody s conversations due to no music or other background noise, so people seemed to refrain from talking.
We just had a large group of 30 people for dinner to celebrate a special anniversary. The food was fantastic and Lisa, our server gave us top notch service. Overall an excellent experience. Highly recommend!!!
Great foods
It was nice the service was great!
Booked in here for a meal following a days hiking in Algonquin Park. The food was great at a reasonable price and the service was good. Worth a stop here if youre passing through
Impressed with service and meal. Quick and easy.
Staff were very courteous, quick and food was amazing!!
The first time we ate here I have to say was excellent, however we have been back twice since and both times we have been disappointed our steaks were tasteless! We will never be back.
The food was okay, but quite overpriced. The philly cheese steak had good meat and baguette, the house soup was tasty. The big pretzel was sadly just an average size and not worth the price. The server was nice and friendly. All in all an okay place on the way when one doesnt want to stray far from the cabins nearby, but mostly too expensive.
Delish food every time I visit. Great service.
Very good restaurant and good welcome
Great cosy place, food was delicious
Very cute place to stop for lunch, everyone was super friendly! Food is great for the price!
Great staff and the food was hot and fresh.
the food was amazing service was great and the atmosphere was pretty awesome
Nice place. Very friendly staff. Food was quite good.
Friendly staff. Great food
Quick service and good food
Food was good. Service was very slow.
Great food. Good price.
Dinner was great
Excellent food and service, perfect place to stop for a bit and a drink.
Great pub feel and fare
Amazing food and service
Great food and good atmosphere.
Good food and service
Meal was delicious. We had the mushroom swiss burger and new york steak. By far one of the best restaurants we have ever been too. Gravy and caesar was great too! Very kind staff. Will definately come again when back in the area and very highly recommend.
Who doesnt enjoy cold beer and well priced food! The staff are great as well
Excellent food.. closed Monday & Tuesday.
Waitress did an excellent job but was somewhat unenthusiastic. Great steak and potatoes, too much cheese on salad. Comfortable environment, a few pesky flies.
Great dinner! One of the best
Decent food, tasty homemade burgers
I dont usually leave reviews but with a place with such high reviews I feel like I have too. I mean I got a banquet burger and it was the smallest, most bland burger Ive ever had. My boyfriends wings and ribs were bland as well and super dry. I mean for the price we spent (around 57 dollars after the tip) I was super disappointed. I mean on the good side the fries were amazing and the mashed potatoes and gravy were amazing. The best gravy Ive ever had. Just really over priced for such bland food.
Excellent service and excellent food
Food was overpriced. Tasted like it was microwaved and came out in about 5 minutes. Waitress was short with us and would do only the bare minimum. For the price I would rather go to chucks road house for a quarter of the price.
Expensive. Food came too quickly after being ordered.. food was not cooked fresh to order and it was obvious. Soggy fried fish. Soggy fried chicken breast. Terrible steak sandwich. Fries were good and so was the roasted garlic mushroom soup but not good enough to redeem everything that was bad.
Amazing chicken wings
Excellent fast and friendly service. Food was excellent.
Good food and good service.
Daily special (Schnitzel) was wonderful. Highly recommended!
The service was very good, I had to send my food back because it was well done and I asked for medium on my prime rib the vegetables were so hard I couldnt eat them and there was enough, but I noticed that the other three people at my table didnt eat theirs either.
We were out late in the park and saw this restaurant open. We decided to stop on for dinner. That was a great decision. They had some awesome specials and it wasnt too crowded. The staff was very friendly, service was good and food was very good. The grilled salmon with wasabi aioli was perfect. The other food was good as well. They had plenty of parking and it is easy to spot from the highway 60. Stop in if you are hungry.
Fish chips and a ice cold beer on the patio what can be better on a nice October day.
Great food, good service, nice desserts
Lovely atmosphere, great food experience and pleasant staff. A nice Thanksgiving experience.
If you guys are heading towards Muskoka please do visit this gem of a restaurant. Fingerlicking food and i have never experienced such fast service. A must visit !
Staff was friendly. Got the prime rib medium rare. If its on the menu, get it. You wont be disappointed.
We had a day trip to Algonqueen and on the way back to Toronto we had our dinner here. Steak and fishand chips were delicious, very friendly staff and very good price. Thank you for completing our day with the tasty food.
Good food. Good service. Reasonably priced. Covid protocol observed.
Good local spot.
The food here is soooo good!!!! Prime Rib dinner!!!! Good French Onion soup too!!! I will have to come back!!!
Very friendly staff, very courteous and quick! Great food and good atmosphere, would definitely recommend!!
Lovely place! Exactly what we needed after a hike :)
Had the fish and chips, Shepard s pie and escargot. The fish was dripping grease and not crispy, the Shepard s pie had no seasoning and the escargot was horrible. We threw out a huge amount of the food. I would not recommend!
The food was delicious. Staff were friendly. Definitely recommend this restaurant.
