The Dish in Huntsville

I love their service and they have great comfort food! I always get the fried green tomatoes! I also hear they have good fish and fried okra!

last night was one of the worst nights i ever experienced at the dish. To be a long horrible ight short i arrived at the dish at 7pm , placed an order and paid for the order all at the time i arrived at 7pm. i did receive my food until 3 HOURS later. tried speaking to the manager about the inconvenience and i ended up getting yelled. i stayed calm throughout the entire conversation of him yelling at me (keep in mind i am a young 21 old girl while this grown man yells at me). overall the manager does NOT care about customers who are inconvenienced.

Paid $16 for a tilapia plate, the okra was burt and the 1 piece of fish was a very small piece, like for a child and I couldnt get my money back...not satisfied at all, want be coming back at all

Not a great experience ordered food and after an hour and 20 min never received my food. I cancelled my order. The waitress shoved my refund in my face and never apologized at all. So I will never go back because it was not a pleasant and welcoming visit.

Safe, relaxed atmosphere with reasonably priced food and drinks. Staff is very customer friendly. As for the live music, Super Soulful! Definitely a place for working class folks who want to get out, every once in a while, and have good time.

My friend and I were just passing thru night before Thanksgiving, they were scheduled to close in an hour and the bar tender was AMAZING!!! We had access to the full menu, which really shocked me since it was so late. The food was hot and exceptionally delicious. Friendly service great food and the atmosphere was perfect, would recommend The Dish to locals if u havent been there, and anyone passing thru, stop on in youll be glad you did!!! Thanks again yall.

Outstanding food compliments this super chill, dark, and groovy bar. Great music plays while you eat real, down home, soul food classic plates. Wide variety of top shelf liquors too.

Its a must I come again and sit in.. The atmosphere is so chill.. music playing.. has bar areas and tables to sit.. from the outside youd never think it would look like this.. Then I got collard green egg rolls ! never had those before and they were amaze balls ... Also fish, broccoli and Mac n cheese.. Cant wait to bring my people here

I traveled all the way from Texas and let me just say EVERYTHING I TRIED WAS AMAZING!!! The ambiance was nice. Staff was very sweet. The owner was awesome and the chefs dishes were 5 star. I took food to go on my road trip back to Texas....not kidding!

Pretty cool spot, but watch out theyll try and get over on you with the hookahs. We purchased a hookah and they brought us a broken one with tissue sticking out on the side thats supposed to be plugged. I told the bar tender it wasnt hitting right and she suggested I buy another coal. Something that couldve been so easily compensated was not and I dont appreciate that. I wont be going back.

The food is really good but ladies beware the Bartender Destini will openly flirt with your husband and try and get his number in your face. I guess she has no real experience as a bartender so she has no boundaries to get tips. Just keeping it real

Hadnt been to this comfortable cozy spot in awhile, but this evenings returned visit was still yet warming and welcoming as always by Mr. C, him who i say always shows his gentle and friendly kindness to all his customers which is why I frequently would visit to hang out and chill. Upon entering the building, myself and a friend find a spot at the bar to chill. The bar hostess came over to get our orders. I placed my order first, just getting some chips and salsa, fries, and a sweet tea. She brought the cups sweet tea to the bar, and I immediately sipped it two times and knew I didnt want it. I waited a few minutes and asked her for some water, which she had asked for me to give her a minute, which is proper. She finished making the drink orders for the two customers sitting on the stools next to me, and never re-addressed me asking her if I may have some water. She walked past me several times, even while I was trying to get her attention, and I finally asked my friend was I been ignored on purpose. I left one of my favorite spot that I would chose to go chill and relax, feeling even more frustrated than when I went in there because the unprofessionalism of the service I received for very poor and unsatisfactory for the more times I have visited this establishment. I do hope she coached and retrained on the how to provide a business establishment to proper customers service because a good attitude get you everything, but stepping outside of the platinum rule on how you treat someone how you want to be treated, is why a lot of us get our a$$ kick, just for that disrespect. I encourage more training for she willing to learn, if not her attitude will cost you a lot of business, unless she she sucking d, but now you would say, Im being disrespectful, Right. But one offense for another. Good day.

This was my first time going to this restaurant and it was a horrible experience. The guy at the door charged us 10 dollars to get in talking about they had a live band playing. We walked in and there was no one but a dj playing music. The drinks were ok but they put it in a small plastic cup. Not worth the money at all. The only good part was the food. When we were about to leave the band was just starting to set up. I asked the guy at the door could I get my money back since we didnt see a live band playing. He looked at me and laughed and said no. I could have made a big deal out of it but didnt want to start an altercation. I will never go here again.

The owner makes you feel at home. The wait staff was fantastic. The food was delicious.

Weeeeeelllllll where do I begin. I wanted fried green tomatoes so I googled who had them and it was The Dish. I had never been there before so I figured why not give them a try. I ordered 2lg orders of fried green tomatoes, I dont think I got all of them not to mention they are so salty I cant even eat them. I wanted a chicken philly but they only had beef but the cook decided he wanted to try making one in which I didnt mind; the sandwich was dry and bland no mayo in sight. The plastic container must be what we paid for. The collard green spring rolls were definitely different but not bad. Overall I felt the food price was toooo high 8dollars for a Philly steak on what was the size of a hotdog bun but the bread was very fresh. No fries came with it but when you order fries separately there were maybe 10 fries in the order. Lets just say my first visit was more than likely my last visit. And thats my dish on The Dish

Came here tonight & it was NOT crowded. I ordered 2 $2 fish meals & waited over 40 mins for my food & still didnt get my food so I left...NEVER again will I come here!

Went here for the first time service was great. My salmon patties were great. The owner came and greeted me to assure I was satisfied. Nice feel for a good time.
