Surin of Thailand has been serving authentic Thai cuisine to the people of Huntsville since 1999. Our master chefs hand select only the freshest local vegetables & meats and import select Thai ingredients to make incredible Thai dishes. Our Thai menu is coupled with a full sushi bar, a varied wine list, and a knowledgeable and professional wait & bar staff, all of which work together to make your dining experience perfect!
I've been to Surin twice in the last few months. The first time I ordered the "succulent catfish." The fish was heavily breaded with a thick hard crust. The second time, I ordered the masumen curry. While it had a sweet peanut taste, It was so thick I was unable to eat even half. I will say that my wife and daughter in law liked their orders. Perhaps they will write a more favorable review.
Started off with the coconut miso soup the actual soup tasted very good the mushrooms not so much. The Pad Thai was amazing! The sushi crunch was very good! Normally I get baked or fried sushi this was a smoked salmon it was delicious! Classic wings with sweet sauce and a nice cucumber salad. Always get a Thai tea it is a must!
First time eating at this place, we’ve already made this Thai place our favorite Thai for the area! It is so flavorful and authentic! The spices and heat level were on point and service was great! We sat down with 6 adults and 2 babies and had great accommodations! Highly recommend it, especially drunken fried rice!
Everything was delicious, I asked if they had pad kee mao and the server went back to the kitchen and asked what would be the most similar thing I could order from the menu. They recommended the spicy beef noodles, I substituted shrimp for the beef. All dishes you have the option to change the protein on
"THOROUGHLY ENJOYABLE" On two days in a row (Sunday, August 11, and Monday, August 12, 2024), I dined at Surin of Thailand restaurant, in Huntsville, Alabama, along with a guest. What a delicious and enjoyable lunch and dinner experience. On Sunday, I ordered the "Succulent Catfish," which I have had there before. And, my guest ordered the "Golden Trout" meal. Then, on Monday, we both reversed that: I ordered the "Golden Trout" meal, and my guest ordered that "Succulent Catfish." Both meals were extremely tasty, well-seasoned, wonderfully prepared, and beautifully presented. I loved the unique seasonings and sauces used in both of these dishes. Furthermore, the servers were very attentive. Thank you, Sebastian (our server on Monday night). And, compliments to the chef, (other) servers, management, and everyone else involved at Surin of Thailand, in Huntsville, Alabama, for our two most recent, great dining experiences. 👍 👍 G. This is my fave restaurant in Bham and I screamed with pure joy when I found out there was one in Huntsville. Wish I could give it 10 stars. I recommend the coconut soup, Yummi Yummi roll, nam sod, and the spicy beef salad. But everything I’ve had is great. The service here was awesome! And their desserts are good too. My boyfriend and his friend got the spicy beef noodle, and they both enjoyed it and said the spice was tolerable. 💕💕
I visited for the first time in December. It was a Sunday evening and we had to wait 10 minutes for a table for 2. It was worth the wait. We ordered the chicken and shrimp pad Thai and the Pink Dragon Roll. We also got an order of egg rolls. The egg rolls were good but I like Phuket’s just slightly better. The pad Thai and sushi were both so good. I will dare say that the Pad Thai was the best I’ve had. I also ordered a pomegranate martini which was very good. Service was perfect. They have a very pretty bar area also but we did not sit there. The sushi was also very good and I enjoyed every bite. Highly recommend!
Flavorful, but most things I've tried have not tested like I expected. The only option for green curry was shrimp, it was okay. Dim sum was shumai like. The spicy coconut soup was tangy but Not spicy at all 😕 but works well as a good palate cleansor. Service was good and very cordial. We accidentally stayed ~way~ beyond closing and they were very kind about it.
This was a delivery order but my take is that the restaurant screwed up. I ordered a spider roll and chicken wings. The chicken wings were cold, the spider roll was lukewarm. If they had been packed better, the chicken would probably have at least stayed warm. The driver did the best he could, unfortunately Uber eats routed him to another stop before he came to me and the restaurant did not pack my food in such a way that it could sustain the correct temperatures until it got to me. I live 3.5 miles from Surin. I got a similar order from another Asian restaurant 20 mi from my house instead of 3, and theirs managed to arrive cold like it was supposed to.
Less than satisfactory experience. Service was poor, the chicken in 2 of our entrees looked foreign and was extremely dry. The bathroom was filthy and the floors inside the restaurant were filthy as well. Will not return, as this is not the Surin we remember from years ago. Came for my birthday and ended up going back home to warm something up in the microwave.
I love this place. Always a great experience!!
This was my first time here and most likely my last. I ordered the same thing I get at every Thai restaurant - Pad See Ew. It was overall terrible. The only real flavor was salt. So much so that over an hour later all I taste in my mouth still is salt. I got a pile of noddles, definitely not fresh noodles, nearly raw broccoli, and some flavorless tofu. Most places miss in the tofu. But the broccoli was hard to even stab with a fork it was so raw. The coconut tofu soup was excellent, the only reason I didn t give this one star. Not exactly their fault, but I d never been here before and there was no sign instructing me to seat myself so I stood for a bit in the lobby waiting to be seated. The server said I could have come in and found a table for 1. Not worth going back, IMO.
I had the spicy beef salad with sticky rice yesterday and I have not felt good sense. Within 30 minutes of eating Ive had stomach problems. I normally love this place but wont be going for a long time.
It s loud It mostly clean It seems to be undergoing remodeling The food seems just okay But locals seem to like it
We love Surin!I always get the yummi yummi roll and basil spring rolls.. so fresh!
Fresh quality food & always above average service.
It was some of the best tasting authentic dolls I ve had in a while
Great food and the best Martins I have had in the US. The Creme Brule was a tasty way to end the meal.
I had waited to try this place for a while and finally got around to it. I was pretty disappointed. The atmosphere is nice and our server was kind, however the food was terrible. We tried the dumplings in red curry sauce which was listed as spicy, it was not. I ordered the spicy beef noodle, again not spicy. My partner ordered the tiger cry, again not spicy and in fact the meat was extremely raw in the middle, being moreso blue rare rather than medium rare. The veggies on the plate were also completely unseasoned. We did send back the steak as between us we had two bites total. The manager took 50% off of the entree before we left. Overall I would not recommend if youre looking for flavor and for your food to be cooked to order as you like it.
Always a 5 star experience! Wonderful food!
Tasty!
We eat regularly at Surin and never had a bad meal.
I Love Love this Restaurant..The Food is always Amazing..My favorite dish is the Succulent Catfish and thats what I had. I took my Daughter for her first visit there. She was very impressed and will bring friends. Our Waiter was nice he was training a New waitress and she was very nice also. The only reason Im giving a 4 on Service is because when were finished with our food, The waiter immediately comes to the table and proceeds to leave the device to pay the check. No how was your meal? Would you like dessert? Nothing.. I immediately said to him we would like dessert please. This up selling is a lost Art in the service industry now. Wait Staff you never know when someone would like something else ALWAYS ASK if your guests would like anything else....PLEASE THANK YOU
One of the best Thai restaurants n Huntsville, AL
Came for a late dinner and got some pad see ew and pad Thai since it was the first time trying this place. The pad see ew was really sweet and the meat tasted boiled however the pad Thai was a little better. Wouldn t come back unfortunately.
Bartender very slow and always have an attitude.
Great sushi
It is a darker romantic spot. I always have great service. My favorite sushi in huntsville is here. I love this place. I normally order Pad Prik Pork. I tried it in beef and man was it good. One of my favorite places in huntsville.
The coconut soup is a unique treat. I like to thicken it with rice and spice it up with chili powder. This place is a longtime favorite. We like lunch better than dinner for the prices and the crowds.
Awful. Coworker had food poisoning later that evening after eating there. I had stomach problems for a week after.
Food
There was a half avocado in my massaman curry. It s usually served with potato and Thai iced tea was terrible
Great food, fast service, reasonable prices. A family favorite!
Last time I came here, I ordered a martini and it was fire!!! I think it was a Bangkok martini maybe?
Food is so.... good
Food is always excellent, every time. The Panang Chicken is the best in town. Vegetarian options: Noodles, rice, tofu as protein Kid-friendliness: Pretty noisy when busy, so no one will notice noisy kids?
Delicious food and generous cocktails. Distracted waiters though. The place is dark, not very happy. Ask for a table besides window!
I have ordered from Surin on several of my trips to Huntsville. Tonights experience was atypical in that it was way less than satisfying. I ordered takeout delivery ... No utensils, salt, soy... Just food The side of edamame had no salt. Unfortunately disappointed :-(
Food was delicious. We came at a busy time and the service was still excellent.
Disappointed. Not real Thai food.
GUYS, YOU GOTTA TRY THE THAI WINGS. THEY ARE SOOOOOO GOOD. Nini is a really awesome server. I definitely recommend sitting in her section.
Amazing place! Amazing Martinis! Amazing service by Scott!
Great food. I had the mussaman curry and it was delicious.
I ve had Pad Thai from coast to coast and it s disappointing to get the short cut version. Fortunately, they changed the name to Thai noodles, because in a side by side there s no comparison. I ve had the curry chicken and it was very good. Their coconut soup is also very good. The high price of dinner entrees however puts them in the never again list.
I absolutely love this place. Great atmosphere and great food. Roasted duck is my favorite dish. Staff is nice and friendly.
NOT THI-FOOD . I repeat not THI-FOOD . They call Tom kai spicy coconut soup serving size is way too small and the food comes undercooked or not cooked at all. Forget about seasoning .dont dare try the warm sushi. And to top it all off I sent back a dish and they still billed me for it .
When theyre afraid to call the food by its actual name... RUN! This experience was just plain insulting. I have been wanting to try this place since moving to Huntsville and it was such a a disappointment. 100% do not recommend and will not be back. The prep felt lazy and just disrespectful. Ordered spicy sour shrimp whatever that was supposed to be and it tastes like Campbells tomato soup with an awful amount of lime added. The mushrooms were uncooked and they were the only veg in the soup (which took forever to come out just to be inedible). The coconut chicken soup was no better. Tasted like watered down coconut milk with lime juice and chicken that was just... Not right. The sushi was warm. Eel is not supposed to be raw, but it was alarmingly warm. It definitely did not taste freshly cooked and once the sushi was dipped into the soy sauce, it fell apart. I should have suspected something was up when a Thai place was doing sushi and came up with all these convoluted names for the food. And another thing, they dont know anything about spicy. Nothing that was labeled spicy came with even a hint of spice. Will never be back.
The food was delicious and the crispy wings were a real treat.
We have been dining at Surins in Huntsville since early 2005. The food is consistently outstanding. It is our favorite restaurant.
I LOVE the spicy beef salad!
Have to say the food was very tasty.
Great local place. The food was fantastic and the service was top notch.
I was not impressed with the food. Service was great but food was below average.
Amazing food, fast and friendly service, and excellent martinis!
Terrific food and service. Ample portions, fresh, flavorful and diverse menu. Prompt and pleasant service. Appropriately priced. Easily accessed. Will visit again.
Absolutely delicious! We sat at the bar, so I cant comment on the dining room. We each had a specialty martini that was perfection followed by sushi and entrees. Everything was just wonderful. And the service was just as good. Definitely a must go to restaurant. Vegetarian options: I had the vegetable stir fry. Best Ive ever had. I asked for a spicier version, and they made it perfectly.
Had a great experience here. I went there with a large group but the servers were up to the task. I do not get to that part of Huntsville often but when I do I will go back for sure
Great food and dining experience. Definitely one of the top Thai restaurants in Huntsville. The location is easy to find with more than enough space for parking.
Excellent. Fresh, quick service and reasonable prices. Chicken curry and Tofu Clay Pot were perfect.
One of Huntsvilles better restaurants
Vegetarian options: You can substitute tofu for any protein on any entrée Food
Good food, reasonable price.
Service and food was great.
Surin of Thailand is outstanding every time. We ve lived here 4.5 yrs. If I don t get my Thai fix there every 3-4 weeks, I m even more difficult to live with. We ve been out of time most of the winter, so hope to be at Surin tomorrow. My favorites are coconut soup and Chicken Massaman. The Bangkok martini is incredible. We ve always had good service but have our special staff. Scott is our favorite server. Poshon makes the meanest martini. The general manager, Ashish, does a great job. His hard work shows. Mitzi Martin & Jeff Atwood
This place serves excellent food and drinks with outstanding service. This Surin rocks!
Unflavored, slow service, pricey.
I worker at the Surin West location for about 10 years. Id never tasted thai for before working there, ate there every day without ever getting tired of it and today it is still my favorite food. They really put a lot in to their dishes, its not just some prepared stuff they throw in a fryer. The BBQ chicken is slow baked over night in fresh made Thai BBQ. The chili pasta, which makes up a central flavor in many of the dishes and sauces, is made of chilies toasted again and again to give it that deep rich taste. Will return soon and often. Vegetarian options: Pretty much everything on the menu.
Food was excellent! I ve never had a bad meal at this place!
Seaweed salad and green curry were great
Everything I have had so far is delicious. It is one of my favorite Huntsville restaurants!
Surin is easily one of the best restaurants in Huntsville, excellent dining experience from the service to the food. I come regularly for my Thai fix and you should too. Always start your meal off with some coconut soup and crab angels!
Insanely slow and ineffective service. The bartender seemed to be perpetually confused and unable to complete the most minor of tasks. The food was cold, incorrect, and utterly bland. It didnt just lack spice or Thai seasoning, but also salt and pepper! By far the absolute worst restaurant in Huntsville. Do not waste your money or time on this absolute dumpster fire!
Love Stephanie. She is the best bartender. Awesome drinks, awesome food.
I had chicken masaman with avocado, which came with coconut soup & white rice. Its my favorite dish there & it was pretty good today. Although, both the soup & the masaman came out like warm.. I am not sure if that was intentional. Some dishes are served that way. The waiter did a good job & the restaurant has pretty nice atmosphere, just plain. Parking: At the end of a strip mall with plenty of parking.
They are supposed to close at 8:30 on a Tuesday and are closed at 8:20. I just wanted to go in and grab a martini super fast, but they closed 10 minutes early making that impossible.
First inpression lasts! Tonight we decided to try this Thai Restaurant and hoping its impressive but the service was not good! The lady server did not even ask us for any refill of drink. Charging me a price of sweet tea where I only oredered water. We only seen her twice when she got our order and payment time. I wish my husband did not give her a 12$ tip she is not deserving. The food was not great. Nope! No more second trip to this place and cant even recommend to friends especially my asian friends.
The food is okay, the ambience is nice, the service needs to be improved, it seems like one of your servers didn t want to be there
I have always had a great experience at Surin. From the food to the service, its excellent.
Ordered takeout from there. Called at 12 and ordered 2 pad Thai and 2 Thai teas with no ice. I was quoted 10-20 minutes. I showed up 24 minutes later and they said it wouldn t be ready till 1. Finally got my food at 12:55 and my Thai teas were only 1/2 filled. They said they don t give a full cup since there s no ice. Food was Cold, so I m not sure what I was waiting on if my food was cold. We definitely will not be back.
Great food.
I use to love this place but havent been in years. I decided to go for lunch to check them out. Ill just say, its not how I remembered. Once I received my food it was warm at most. The vegetables were barely warm. I had to ask for the rice that came with the meal and requested that they heat my food. My co-worker ordered fish and it was not good. You can tell from pic that the fish was half dry. We had to request the rice for that meal as well. So to sum things up, service was ok and the food was .
The sit down experience is great and the food is even better. My wife and I eat dinner here regularly (eat-in) and the wait staff are fantastic 100% of the time, however on multiple occasions now we have ordered pick up for nights when we are busy, and the bar tenders attitudes are consistently atrocious, and refuse to make eye contact, or acknowledge anyone picking up orders from the bar. They refuse to look at you or give you instructions or update you, but if you start looking for your order yourself they get snippy. Tonight there were 9 people all looking at 15 some-odd pickup orders ready to go at the bar, and only after there was a complete road block for new patrons, servers, and new carry out orders did they aggressively take names from everyone waiting to take their call-in order. (Addendum): If this were my first time ordering at Surin, and my only customer service experience were the bar staff, I cannot say that I would ever be back. But this is a great establishment over all and I want the very best for it because it is a local favorite for many folks. Please talk to your bartender staff, and let them know that people took notice. Kind regards,
Was very exciting to try this place tonight, lots of recommendations however the food was so-so. My husband got chicken curry and I had got drunk noodles, not authentic at all. Flavors was ehhhhhh. I don t think we will be back, service was VERY slow. Took forever to get our foods and the server was not very attentive. We had to ask for silverware and napkins, our food was delivered had asked for an extra plate. Waiting 8 mins and had to ask another server walking by. The bathroom was Disgusting.
My current favorite place to eat, we get food here at least twice a month, my go to is the chicken massaman curry but I also love the garlic lovers broccoli. Nice drink menu as well and the atmosphere is calming and its decorated nicely. Highly recommend!
The staff here is very kind and welcoming. The food selection is not broad as they fit their Thai menu on one side and an entire sushi menu on the other. I got the wings of angel and it was ok. A friend of mine got the Yummie roll and Massaman curry which were both quite excellent. I would be interested in going back here and trying their other foods in the future.
If you like steak, then this is your place to go to in Huntsville. Get the Tiger Cry. You will not be disappointed at all.
One of our favorites. Always on point.
Pros: Amazing portions of delicious food Good teamwork based service Very allergen friendly Handicap accessible Quality justifies price Thai tea offered Cons: Ambiance isnt fabulous for the price point Thai tea not on the menu Overall: We have gone here multiple times for family dinners and we always enjoy the food. Its really hard to go wrong here, and most of the menu items are amazing. We arent sure why Thai tea isnt on the menu but it is absolutely delicious so definitely try it when youre there! Most of their dishes are fabulous portions and rich in flavor, but Id skip the stir fry options because they seem to be the one area lacking the sauces and flavors we love about the other dishes. Definitely try the nomsod appetizer- it is so rich in flavor and a great appetizer portion! For wheelchair users: Wheelchair accessible, but the entryway is very narrow so it may be best to ask a server to let you in through the side door which opens to a wide room. We havent used the restrooms, so unsure if those are handicap accessible. For families with allergies: The server was very knowledgeable about allergens and had a full list of ingredients for each dish and assured us of their cross contamination control and safe kitchen and we have never had an allergic reaction despite the menu having a host of allergens so theyve done amazing consistantly with that across many visits! Dietary restrictions: VERY knowledgeable and safe with allergies. Servers have access to full ingredient lists for every item and we have never had a cross contamination issue so we feel very safe dining here- as always just TELL YOUR SERVER if you have an allergy!! Wheelchair accessibility: Ramp, but narrow entryway (theres a mini room before the main restaurant with a narrow door) but they have a side door to a private dining area with much more space than the main dining room before tables, so request to enter through there and dine in that room (maybe reserve it ahead on busy days) to ensure comfort for the wheelchair users in your party. Theyve been very accommodating and easy about this! Unsure of bathroom accessibility because we havent used it.
I ve been eating at Surin a couple days a week for years now and they have, by far, the best service, best martini, best food, and best management around! If, by chance, you run into an issue, ask for Ashish, he is the manager and he works hard daily to ensure everyone has an amazing experience while visiting Surin. 5 stars the only restaurant in town that receives 5 stars from me. Do yourself a favor and visit. I d recommend dishes but there are so many that are good I don t believe I have space or time for that! Enjoy!!
Great food and service
Okay Thai food, but not as authentic as you can get in Huntsville. Loud drunk guy at the bar.
I heard for months how amazing Surin is and to be honest not worth the hype. First, our server was not very friendly. He made us seem as though we were intruding on his personal time. Second, the food was good but I have had better tasting with larger portions and cheaper prices elsewhere. Finally, my crab angels were burnt. Its a lovely restaurant and the hostess and another server was very helpful and friendly. We were just unfortunate to get the server we did. By the way the other guest I was with were the one who had been suggesting we go. They were disappointed as well.
Food was fantastic. Service seemed to be understaffed and the wait on our food was a little above average. Overall I enjoyed it and will come back for the Ka Proud Lamb!
Ordered the yellow chicken curry. Lately it s been tasting very watered down/ diluted. The curry is usually very creamy. The rice container that comes with it was no more than 3/4 full. I can tell they are cutting corners for cost. I will stick to ordering from the Birmingham location.
Decent but overpriced and overcrowded.
I was recommended by someone for months to visit Surin, wish I didnt listen. The food was bland, the crab angels were burnt and the service was non-existent
Very good thai place. Their Panang beef is very tender and delicious. I will say that the culture there has changed. We had to flag our waitress down to get anything. But the food was very delicious. Food : 5/5
Ample portions of food.
Coconut soup is the best!
Amazing food! Great date night or a little self-care
Great customer service and I was just there for a Uber Eats pickup
As always, great food, great service, great atmosphere. Spicy beef salad is filling, but if you like it hot, ask for it Thai hot (normally its just mild). The trout is amazing, as is the chicken masaman.
Great food!
My absolute favorite restaurant in the Huntsville area! Get the super crunch roll
I have had this food often and eaten here several times. Usually, it is very good. This past time was very disappointing. I went in to pick up some soup for my wife. A simple cup of soup. It took aver 10 minutes for the order to be taken because the bartender was the only one working to go. He took the order and said it would be 15 minutes. For. A. Cup. Of. Soup. It was only 13 minutes. I asked for won ton strips and he said they didnt have them. I will not go back for take out. They need to do better. At least they gave me a spoon.
Great food, service was absolutely perfect.
Good sushi selection for a Thai place. Decent selection of fresh Thai cuisine. Would recommend
Good Thai. Soso sushi. Large portions. Service seemed slow. Probably need at least one more hand on the wait staff.
A friend and I had lunch here today. He ordered Thai Noodles and I ordered Khoa Man Gai. It was fantastic, the flavors were excellent and it was so tasty. The only reason I didnt give 5 starts was because there was a small piece of plastic in my greens. Other than that I had no complaints. The food was great and Ill definitely be back.
It has vegetarian and vegan options. I like the vegetable medley stir fry and the ibari sushi. The tofu here is quite good.
Fireee
Food is awesome. Drinks are the best
Decided to try this place tonight. My husband reminded me we tried it last year and didnt like it, but we couldnt remember what we didnt like, so we decided to try again. The restaurant wasnt very busy and we were promptly seated. I ordered the beef massaman and my husband got the nom tok beef. They have three spice levels. I ordered the hottest, Thai hot, which the server assured me was really spicy. We both ordered sushi for an appetizer. Service was really slow. My husbands sushi came out first. I saw mine sitting on the counter, but the server was MIA so it sat there until long after my husband finished his. I was worried the entrees would show up before the sushi, but clearly I underestimated how long the entrees would take to come out. The sushi was pretty good, but the entrees were a fail. The nom tok beef wasnt awful, but was inferior to the nom tok at Phuket. The massaman was disgusting. It wasnt spicy. Heck, it wasnt even mild. It tasted like they skimped on spices and cut the coconut milk with water. The chunks of meat were flavorless. There wasnt a single pepper. I confirmed with the server that it truly was Thai hot. I informed her it was extremely bland and requested hot sauce. They didnt have any. Ive never been to a Thai restaurant that didnt have hot sauce. That explains the complete lack of spice! I ended up getting some Sriracha from the sushi bar. It added heat, but didnt improve the flavor. Even though they werent busy, the service was pretty bad and we found ourselves having to flag down the server for refills and our check. While the sushi was fine, the bad service and horrible curry were more than enough to ensure we wont be back.
Vegetarian options: A few... Food
I didnt take a pic of my food, I got the veggie delight served with coconut soup, it all tasted very fresh. I will go back!
Nice bar to sit in if you are out by yourself.
One of my Go To restaurants in Huntsville! Try the Larb.
Great food great service
On July 2nd, 2023 at 6:45 I called to place an order and was impolitely served by a rude White woman who took order through the phone. I had no idea why Surin put such a person who lacks of social skill and customer service skill up front to get the order??? She also did not know what is inside the food/plates. Understanding the issue of staff shortage these days but positioning those MARGINAL waitresses in restaurant environment who never appreciate their jobs and customers is nothing different from drowning your bussiness down to the bottom.
I had medium spicy panang chicken really good. The server was a little confused though.
Very good food, service is hit or miss.
Just a wonderful place. Spectacular food & drinks, and always good service!
Good food, prices and service. Bathrooms were filthy and overall atmosphere is lacking. Kid-friendliness: They were excellent at accommodating my children.
Best food and service in Huntsville. Our server Ben was exceptional!
I had the trout with rice and spinach. Not sure how it could have been better. Service was fairly prompt and courteous.
One of my favorite Thai places to eat when I visit Huntsville. The quality of the food, service and atmosphere is always great.
Great local Thai restaurant!
I was excited to try out this Thai restaurant; however, I was met with disappointment. The quick seating was positive, but the bland coconut soup and pad woon sen, along with Paula, the servers lack of attention and the presence of a fly hovering over my food, were major drawbacks. It seems the restaurant has some areas to improve upon for a more enjoyable dining experience.
Ive gotten take out twice from this place. Let me tell you, Ive had about 5 different appetizer dishes and they were all fantastic, which is great! My first time I got take out I received the wrong entree. Unfortunate, but the chicken curry was still decent! My second time I ordered two different curries, shrimp and duck. Both were incredibly disappointing and lacking in flavor. The shrimp curry in particular had the consistency of water (this is not remotely ok) and while I had asked for Thai Hot on the duck curry (normally a spice level guaranteed to be unpalatable for most) it didnt seem like it had any spice added. The bizarre inconsistency between the quality of the appetizers and the curry entrees leaves me very hesitant to try this place again.
Used to be better, but still good. Favorite is the beef Massaman curry and the green curry with shrimp and crab.
Try the spicy beef noodles
This used to be my favorite place to go. My spouse and I went last night (Friday) and they were, understandably, busy. We got seated fairly quickly by the bar (mistake one.) It was so loud. SO LOUD. Im autistic, but I carry noise-cancelling loops around, so this wasnt a deal-breaker; even then, though, it was so loud that we had to literally shout to hear each other. The basil rolls and spicy coconut soup are still delicious, but the stir -fry was tasteless and bland, cut into chunks that were too large to eat (and since I only had a fork, there was no way to cut the barely-cooked head of broccoli on my plate.) I tried to get our servers attention multiple times to get some salt or soy sauce or, God forbid, a steak knife to saw this broccoli tree into manageable logs (or perform ritualistic seppuku) but after the obligatory Is everything good? (To which I replied eeehhhhh... Its okay) they escaped so quickly that youd have thought I was Beowulfs mother. To the servers credit, though, once theyd had time to process the look on my face and tone of voice (and realized someone had actually answered the question with something other than a polite yes, thank you, everythings fine, how are you?) they returned and asked what was wrong with the food (its bland) and whether I wanted to order something else (nope.) I did still have to indicate that we were ready for the check the next time they came by (I thought that wouldve been obvious, but ) and it was dropped off like a hot potato, even though we had the card out and ready to go. All in all, it wasnt a great experience. We still left a 20% tip because waiting tables sucks and were not monsters, but we wont be going back. Next time I have a craving for some spicy coconut soup with shrimp, Ill order it to go. Vegetarian options: For the love of God, dont get the tofu. It was completely unseasoned.
I went for Lard Na, but it wasnt on the menu. Regardless, my server was patient and pleasant, and the atmosphere was good.
Top 3 restaurant in the city for me. Every dish is so good. The Super Crunch sushi is my personal fav.
We never got our appeitizer. I ordered sweet and sour chicken and I got a plate of chicken tenders with some lettuce and sauce on the side. Not what I was expecting for my meal.
The food here is amazing. I love the Pad Prik plate for its flavor and spiciness level. Service is good but you may wait for a refill if it s busy. All in all this is one of my top 5 places to eat in Huntsville!
Delicious food always. Try the crab angels, spicy coconut soup, and thai bbq chicken! Yum
Food was very bland
Been coming here for years. The food is great!! I take friends that havent been to this restaurant and they love it! Prices are reasonable and the service is great!! I would recommend to anyone who likes something different and unique.
When it first opened, many years ago, it seemed kinda fancy. It hasnt aged well. The menu is not much changed, the decor hasnt changed. Not trying to be mean, it has a dingy feel with upscale prices. Kinda like me. Ive been here awhile too.
Terrible service from the lady at the bar. She was mean and disrespectful because I asked her how long it would be before my food was ready.
Surin of Thailand in Huntsville, AL is one of the best Thai restaurants I have visited. I do not claim to be an expert on Thai food. It is likely this is not the most authentic Thai restaurant. But, to my American taste, this restaurant has some of the best tasting dishes even if or especially because it has adapted to appeal to American taste. The Yum Yai salad is delicious. It has a sweet and sour peanut dressing that is outstanding. The lettuce in the salad was very fresh and the shrimp and chicken were well prepared. The coconut soup accompanies many of the meals. It always has a great taste and a delightful start to the meal. The basil rolls are also outstanding. They are also quite filling. We frequently order the rolls to take home for a light dinner as eating them along with a regular entree is too much food. The chicken Masaman with avocado is another favorite. It comes with rice and the rice with the sauce on this dish is exquisite. It is a large dish, probably enough for two people in most instances. I have still consumed all of it at one sitting though despite the fact I should have taken half of it home with me for a later meal. I have also split this dish with a dining companion and it was plenty of food for the two of us especially when accompanied with a basic roll appetizer. One of my favorite dishes is the Macadamia trout. It is a large meal, even on the luncheon menu. It has a delicious sauce and served on a bed of rice with fresh cooked spinach. I can eat it by myself. It would probably be better to split it and consume less food as it is a generous serving. There are also a number of excellent sushi options available for lunch or dinner. The sushi preparation is in full view of customers with many of the ingredients for these dishes in full view. There are too many outstanding dishes to mention in this review. For those with a taste for the real, hot Thai food, it is available. I have not tried it as my more middle-class palate has never adjusted to food with such a hot underpinning. I do not doubt it is excellent at Surin as the various dishes I have tried in many visits there have all been outstanding.

Not recommend
I had an amazing time here. Super professional servers and bartenders, amazing drinks, and the food was top notch! Would 100% recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for good food and drinks
Good food and service.
I was disappointed with this restaurant. The food overall was just okay - bland.
The food was delicious the service was great. Even the owner was out on the floor and spoke to the customers. My first time eating here and I will definitely go back. I highly recommend this restaurant
I love all the curries and the last two rolls on the menu forgive me on the name. I have friends that enjoy the Patrick pork, the barbecue chicken, and the pad thai. I love all the sauces with the appetizers and the beef Satay is delicious. My girlfriend likes the egg rolls. The crab rangoon is pretty good too. I do not like the Drunken Noodles but I am picky on those.
I m visiting Huntsville on business. I m traveling back and decided to eat here. I m told that my wait is 15 mins. and ended being 2 mins. The server asked if I wanted to be seated at a table at the bar and I agreed. After my order has been taken, I am asked to be reseated after 5 minutes due to a reservation. I m sure a table would have been available in a few minutes for the reserved. Unfortunately, I decided to leave due to the cluster of confusion. Surin needs to provide better customer service. Unfortunately I won t be back.
They could do a bit better on the atmosphere but their food is delicious
Great Thai food. Great servers. Fantastic meeting room. Our veterans group meets there at no cost. Thank you for that.
The spicy beef salad is so good here. Make sure to order a side of rice with it! Vegetarian options: The tofu coconut soup is good, but I m not sure of the broth is chicken. There are also vegetarian options on the menu.
The Beef Panang, Coconut Soup & Beef Salad are our all-time favs!
I got a specialty martini, and it was excellent. Wonton soup, salad and egg rolls were all delicious.
Had the roasted duck this evening & it was fabulous very flavorful as usual.
I was really surprised considering the reviews. All of our food was cold. The taste was not good. The fried rice was not fried and the inside was cold. Sushi had a very weird taste. Service was mediocre. I was so disappointed.
