Great Halal Chinese food option in Kamloops. The Pho was also top notch. I tried their set menu for four and it is very filling. Highly recommended!
Always saw this place, but only went in for the first time recently. Should have gone sooner. The food is great, the owner is super friendly and it's quite nice inside too. Got a stamp card and will go again.
Super authentic Chinese food, everything was surprisingly good. The LaMian meat is house-made super tender and the broth is just like you get in north/western China. The bubble tea/ slushees are also amazing, ice cold, customizable sugar level, perfectly blended, and fresh tapioca.
Love the sweet and sour pork. The pork is perfectly cooked, tender and juicy, coated in a tangy sweet and sour sauce that is simply irresistible. If you're a fan of bubble tea, Their honeydew bubble tea is a delightful treat. Taro is pretty good + chewy tapioca pearls.
I really enjoyed the food here despite what some are saying apparently. Didn't get too wild or crazy and try something I normally wouldn't like though! I had the Teppan Stir Fry Noodle - Teriyaki and asked for the udon noodles as they are my favourite and they delivered!! They weren't overcooked or mushy but just the right texture and flavour. Plus a good portion size 😋 My mother had the wonton soup and loved it. Every bite was gone! Plus it's been a few hours after and we are still full and yet having no tummy issues. A bit salty but all Chinese food is! Just makes me drink more water 😂 The only thing I would say I had an issue with was the cleanliness of the area. Looked like the floor needed a dusting and a mop and some fresh paint. Otherwise I will go back 👍
The lunch combo special is always warm, ready to go and filling, great stop for a full meal when you're on the go go go, fair price for the amount you get
Since the other Pho places I normally frequent were closed on a Sunday, I thought I'd give the Pho here a try. It was possibly the biggest Pho-pas of my life. The first spoonful of broth had me feeling hopeful. It was quite tasty and flavorful. Then freezer-burned pieces of seafood that were barely recognizable started to float to the surface. The shrimp had seen better days too. (2005?) But the squares of white fish were edible-ish. To be fair, I haven't tried the Rice Bowl's other dishes. And maybe the chicken or beef Pho is a safer bet. But with slow service as well... It's last on my list Pho-ever.
I like the food so much! It's delicious and tasty. The price also affordable and you can get 4 items combo just for $14.99. The fried rice is just right. The chicken also very crunchy, meanwhile the spicy Szechuan beef is tender and not too spicy. The mixed vegetables are fresh too. Meanwhile, the mapo tofu is soft. The cashier and the chef are also friendly. I really suggest you to come here since it's really worth it.
Probably the worst Chinese food I ever had. Took over an hour for delivery and the food was cold. Very low quality products. Stay away from this place.
Best Pad Thai in Kamloops hands down
Nice place for Chinese food. Found the food authentic and Thomas customized it as per your need too. Work of caution don t even dare challenge the chef on spice level .i eat extreme spice and chef won. Food
I had a great experience here with the friendly staff. There are many tasty choices on the menu. I recommend the Szechuan spicy rice bowl. Excellent atmosphere and will be back.
Very generous, very friendly, very clean, very helpful, highly recommended. Respectful and courteous.
It turns out 3 times is the number of times you can ignore me trying to order food before I go any where else, why would I buy anything if I you act like Im a burden because I want food from a restaurant.
This is by far my favorite restaurant in Kamloops. Quality food, quality staff and owners. If you like extremely spicy food, they will hook you up. Spicy level 7 and up is amazing.
Amazing service and the food is always fresh! Costs a little more than mall Chinese food, but the quality is worth it. 10/10
Went there for dinner . No fresh food I had to ask for fresh everthing .and then we went to pay we got no discout or senionrs discount Food
Food was delicious. I had the teriyaki with rice and portion was big and the food wasn t drowned in sauce like you see at chains. The person who served me was super helpful and reviewed the menu with me to help me make my choice. Would definitely go back
Excellent service, very friendly staff and great food!
The worse Chinese food weve had in Kamloops. The lamb skewers were bland. For $13.99, you basically get 14 miniature pieces. The pork belly noodle soup was bland and the meat was a joke. The combo food tasted old like several days old. The sweet and sour pork was dry and came in two different colors Lol we wont eat here again.
They can make your rice bowl as spicy as you want. I get the Curry chicken rice bowl level 9 spice. Its a must try.
They give you a full plate of food for what you are paying. But its literally inedible... All the reviews are 100% correct. its hands down the worst place Ive ever ordered from. its not even chicken STAY AWAY - Because the positive comments have to be bots. Try it if you want but I guarantee youll only eat there once. I honestly dont know how they can pass this off as food. This place has to be shut down.
Worst chicken I had.
The worst food I ordered pho to go waste of mine time and money absolutely disgusting June 11/23 would never recommend this place to anyone or if u like dog food go for it!!!!
We have been coming here for YEARS. It was also one of first date spots. Combo is always good, owner is good to his regulars. Beef and chicken pho is good too!! Thank you for an awesome lunch spot year and year.
It s a rare Chinese food in Kamloops. The owner happens to be from Beijing, so the taste is really not bad. I finally have a place to go here in the future... The two of us ordered spicy hotpot and cold pig ears.
It was fantastic. The food was excellent and met my expectations the first bite. Great place to eat.
Took the schezwuan rice bowl with BBQ pork with a spice level of 7/10. Delicious and copious amounts. Just a little too spicy for me though. But I recommend! Food : 5/5
Vegan fried rice tastes okay considering no egg can be added. The portion is plenty, but only got pea and carrot dice in it. It would be nice if they add other veggies/mushroom
This was my first time at this restaurant. 10/10 Huge portions and full of flavour. I definitely will be back. The establishment was very clean, and the staff were polite and friendly.
Ordered a BBQ Pork rice bowl online and didnt get any rice. The restaurant is literally called Rice Bowl, but couldnt get a two item order correct.
Spent $20 on a lunch special. Service was very good. But food was terrible. I threw half of it out it made me sick Ive been here before and its normally tastey. But not this time. Food
Ordered food and was not that great at all. Sadly would be better off with wok box 1st time in only time.
Have eaten here for more than 20 years...
Horrible experience. Ordered pho on doordash, they didnt keep the broth and the noodles separate so they were extremely soggy and falling apart. Got egg rolls and they didnt come with any kind of sauce, and 3 tiny dumplings with packages of soy sauce. The only thing that made this meal worth it was that the egg rolls seemed to be homemade.I do not recommend.
Nice staffs, delicious foods.
We spend $35 on two items, neither of which were edible. The Pad Thai was the wrong noodles, wrong spices, no peanuts...it was unrecognizable and greasy. The Curry Chicken was so salty, neither of of could eat any. I dont understand the positive comments on line at all.
One of my Favorite places
Probably the second worst Chinese food weve had. Not sure why they would do this but all dishes except the salt and pepper chicken (ironically) was heavily -HEAVILY - salted. I served my Grandma first and thought her saying it was salty was maybe because of a lower salt diet. I have full salt and liberal in mine... It was so salty to me it was hardly edible. If I had another option last minute, would have dumped it all and done something different. The beef and broccoli veggies, the chow mein, even the sweet and sour pork... Either theyre salting their food, which makes me wonder why aside from preserving older food, or its loaded beyond belief in MSG. On top of this, the food arrived cold. Would not recommend. Two stars for the overall taste being reasonable outside of the heavy salt. 1 felt unfair.
disgusting food period.my curry chicken was sink water with a few uncooked veggies im going today to try and get a refund.tride last night but for some reason they did not have my order from skip the dishes and it was only 15 min from the time it left .greasy company
Absolutely horrendous. I ordered a teriyaki rice bowl with egg rolls. The rice was undercooked and the sauce was so sour I couldn t even eat it. The egg rolls were disgusting mush. I also got a warm, grainy bubble tea. I talked to management about my meal, and ask if I could get it at least discounted because it was inedible. They just shrugged at me and refused. Don t waste your money.
They got our order wrong and would not replace it with the right order and also were rude and yelled at us.
Black bean chicken rice bowl here is the best one in town
Really friendly service from this casual sit down or take out spot. Got the chicken teriyaki rice bowl which was really tasty with fresh veggies and a generous portion. Ill be back!
I ve become a regular at this place. Their fried rice is off the chart, you can t find a better fried rice in Kamloops! I can keep eating and eating their fried rice and will never get bored. Their tomato beef is in the secret menu and definitely worth a try. My favorite is their chicken stew, always hot and full of flavor with so many different spices within the dish. I enjoyed all the food I ve got from here, and will definitely come back to try out more items
There was a table that nobody wiped or sanitized after the last customers left.
People were friendly, although at times difficult to understand. I had no idea what the menu items were, but they suggested something when I asked for something vegan. Although I asked for not spicy, I was unable to eat the dish, even gulping water after each mouthful. I had to throw most of it away. It smelled fantastic though, so if you like spicy, you might like it here.
Love the dan dan noodles there and the kung pow chicken
Great bubble tea!
Be careful going there, the staffs are annoying and they were chatting really loud without wearing the mask . Go to others!!!!!! Trust me. If you are a restaurant owner, please improve the sanitary environment first, boss. Worse every time During the epidemic, your employees still chatted loudly with you about taking off their masks? Im really convinced. Please teach the employees a lesson. Every time Ive been here for three years it gets worse. well Please don t embarrass Chinese food
Save your money. If this is what you want I suggest paying less than half for the same thing at a mall food court. (Not part of the rating but I also didnt like that they had washrooms closed to customers considering they allow dine-in.) Aside from that the staff were friendly.
LOVE LOVE LOVE their food, try the spicy Sichuan noodles/rice.I Swear by this place for good Chinese in Kamloops. 10/10 for good customer service, also customizes my dishes according to my personal preference
Taiwan sweet sausage is sooooo good!!!! And always order my favourite-spicy vegetable udon !!!!!! Perfect for winter
Amazing food and service. Spice tastes like home. Quality food it is.
New menu items are delicious good amount of food. Great price.
Small menu but excellent flavours. Ive eaten similar dishes all over BC and Alberta and this place ranks among the best Ive had. Try it out people.
Amazing food and great prices. Very large serving and friendly staff
Ordered Pho and Prawn Pad Thai Both dishes essentially just noodles. Pho flavorless with just a couple pieces of overcooked beef. Pad Thai had two shrimp and decent flavor. But, 25.00 for basically two containers of noodles is ridiculous. Never tried them before, now consider crossed off my list.
I think the quality of the food is great and it s a good place to go eat. When you go to pay for your food, there is always an option for % of tips. I didn t get to chose my Tip % amount, they chose for me. without the cashiers acknowledgment or correction. Next time don t chose for me, I left without saying anything. This is can be theft.
It tastes way better than it looks from the outside. Great food, decent prices. Grabbed a to go menu because I am looking forward to this place again. Enjoy.
Friendly owners, amazing food. They have good regular Chinese food but if you like it spicy you are in for a treat. The hot pot with the peanut sauce is off the rails and easily my favourite dish in the whole city. And like I said, the owners are so friendly. Amazing place and a real gem for our city.
Not terrible but not great. Service was average, food was, at best, average and the prices were on the high side for the product. Aside from that, there were a lot of people that werent customers in the restaurant running into and out of the back. I found the atmosphere very uncomfortable as if I had walked into the wrong neighborhood at the wrong time of night. I cant really describe it any better than that.
Food was amazing, great staff, great business owner
Im quite impressed with the speed of service and the portion sizes! Definitely a great option for getting something classic, or trying something that may be new to you!
Tofu pho was really good and really nice staff warm and smiles even though theyre very busy they take time for you
Just ordered the chicken schesuan and its really really good! I am not from here and tried it on a whim without reading the review first and Im glad I did!! Only reason I am giving a 4 is the interior is not in very good shape Cushions on chair are ripped and it could use a little TLC
Probably the worst service I have ever experienced....took a generation to get served
The worst Chinese food I have ever had. but the service is okay.
Food was tasty, warm, and fresh. Ok selection (10 items) . Lunch special was a reasonable price for 4 items. Its what you would expect of a fast food buffet Chinese restaurant.
It was ok
Usually eat their dishes by calling take out. And I never disappoint with them.
This place sells Chinese food, vietnamese food(pho)and teriyaki fish(Japanese) foods are terrible and the price is high..if you want pho this is not a place to go..if you want teriyaki this not a place to go either..If you do not want to waste your money dont go there because foods are terrible and expensive.
Very good food and very friendly staff
I absolutely love this place. I Come here frequently in my days off with my friends. I eat vegetarian food and absolutely love it.
Nice place
Finger licking ...
Great place good service!
Great food, great service!
Ok food for the price... their bubble tea is bad we ended up returning it.
Food is ok but some items on the menu are very pricy and small portion.
the worst food I have ever had it smelt like old sour cream also was some how salty and tasteless the customer service was terrible it was extremely over priced I dont write reviews often but Id rate this a 0 if I could
This is my go-to restaurant in kamloops for more traditional style Chinese food. Always great customer service and always willing to work with you if you have specific food needs like extra spicy food or food allergies. I never do the buffet but if you like battered deep fried chicken and pork they do the best especially when it is fresh. I like the spicy chicken, the hot potato boiled peanut butter style citron flavour, and their Dan Dan rocks it is a super awesome Chinese pasta. These arent in any particular order but the first two are super unique to Kamloops. They do great delivery and for the regular Americanized/canadienified Chinese food it is one of the best places to order it in town but I dont order that unless it is with family. Ive tried pretty much everything on the menu and have not been dissapointed.
Unappetizing and we regret eating here. $30 for two bowls and it was mostly broth. By broth I mean soy sauce and water. The entire time the owner was in the main restaurant yelling loudly into his phone over speaker phone. I wish the food made up for our experience but its left us with indigestion and it wasnt good.
The food was terrible. Very disappointing.
Very disappointed!! The curry rice bowl had grossly thick sauce and was just thrown together with over cooked chewy chicken. The gyoza tasted like they were quickly microwaved, soft in the middle with hard edges. Never going back. Not worth it, especially for the cost. Way over priced. So dissapointed.
Pretty great, fresh, non Americanized Chinese food. Restaurant it self could be do for a Reno though.
Very delicious Sichuan cuisine, the spicy hot pot is more authentic, the owner s service is very enthusiastic, recommended to satisfy your craving~
Wish I could give less than 1 star. This has to have been the most disgusting food I have eaten ever. Sorry tasted, we couldn t even come close to actually eating this. The beef skewers taste like ground beef that has been packed and stuffed with every spice in the spice cabinet. My husband described it as spicy, dry dog food. The gyoza was just awful as well, way over deep fried and greasy and tastes like it s from the frozen aisle. The pho was alright expect for the fact that it s utterly bland and tasteless with hardly even a toddler sized portion of chicken. I can t belive we paid $40 for all this and we shared a single serving of everything, including the pho....
Dissapointing, at best. Ordered 4 egg rolls and only received 3. They try to make up for the lack of flavour with heat. Curried chicken rice and Tomato and egg rice are barely palatable. First and last order.
My go to Chinese restaurant!!
Hot pot in rice bowl is delcious
Friendly service and very good rice bowls!
Been going there for years for their hot and sour soup! Wonderful owners and friendly staff.
The renovation is now complete. Though only a small restaurant they have a multitude of great dishes as well as their generous buffet, all at exceptional prices. Special thumbs up to the delicious teriyaki chicken rice bowl. A great place to grab a bite for lunch or dinner. I have used them to feed hockey tournament teams when we visited Kamloops. Excellent food, excellent services, excellent prices.
the worst Chinese restaurant in Kamloops. you order you regret.
The food was amazing. The presentation was beautiful food had great flavour. Staff very nice made us very welcome. Great job guys
The food was not good. And the service was slow. Not ever coming back
Was there for dinner many years ago when it was new and it was great - has definitely changed since then. Today we went for lunch. The restaurant was filthy, with a dirty broken looking fridge up front, peices of dirt and ripped fabric on the floor. There was a dark yellow liquid spilled all over the floor where you grab drinks and order. All employees were sitting at the tables, including an elderly man asleep face down on a main table. The young man that took our order was very nice. All our food was cold and tasted like it was made at least one day prior. The elderly man woke up and wiped drool from his chin and then went to the area we were just served, and picked food out with his hands and proceeded to walk around eating it and loudly yelling at the young men with a mouth full of food. We paid over $25 and left without touching a thing.
Really bad service. ordered from there two times the first time it took over 2 hours to deliver the food to my room it was cold. the next time I called and I placed the order they said ok. over an hour I called back and they said they were closed order somewhere eles. Last time I try this place.
