Great diner restaurant in Kamloops, with 60s theme. Service and food are the highlights of the place. Recommend!
This is an amazing breakfast spot! It's been around for so long and continues to be a delightful experience. My grandpa and I have been there on occasion, and he says it looks the same as it did 40 years ago when he first moved to Kamloops. Love the atmosphere and staff!
Fantastic home cooked food! I haven't had a hamburger like that in a long time. It was a loaded cheddar cheese burger topped with 2 authentic onion rings. The French fries brought me back to the day of real home cooked diner food. Their homemade soup is fabulous. My grandson loved his grilled cheese sandwich and fries he ordered from the kids menu. He said it had the type of cheese he likes. It was cheddar cheese.
Taking a step back to the 50/60's with pictures of old stars like Marilyn Monroe and others and matching decor greets you on entering Harold's. Also the sign saying be patient due to staffing shortage. I like the heads up as it helps customers realize staff are working extra hard. The food was good as was our server, I think his name was James. Very nice and efficient. The eggs Benny were very good. I could only give a 4 due to the sign apologizing washrooms are located downstairs. If they have another bathroom for people with mobility challenges, I didn't see it. Overall, we enjoyed our time there.
Food.... Amazing Service.... Excellent Atmosphere.... Rocking Prices.... Fair They handled my family of 8 with no problems on mother's day. Only reason I'm giving there service a 4star is that they where short staffed and due to that and to be expected thing took abit longer but you could see them trying to handle the best they can. I can't explain to you threw here how wonderful the food was but please trust me and my family we will be back and from then on will be one of my go-to places to eat for a home cooked meal. Here are some pictures of our dinner's.
This is a great restaurant. I came to Harold's at the recommendation of a friend, and I am glad I did. The interior has a good 50s theme happening while the restaurant plays music from the 50s/60s. The coffee was pretty good, and I had the French Toast with Bananas and whipped cream. The French Toast tastes good on its own, but paired with the bananas and cream is magnificent. The service from the workers are very courteous every time they come by my table. I hope to come by this restaurant again soon.
Start off by saying GOOD food...BAD experience. We were evacuated from the fires and our first breakfast there we came in as a table of 10 (we are neighbors and also related) they didn't want to seat us together because it was too hard for the waitress. They sat half of us on the other side of the restaurant. They wouldn't let another member of the family come to our table to talk to us...no visiting. We ordered lunch to go and came back the next morning and they REFUSED to serve the other half of our group because her husband wasn't there....the food we got was good but if your looking for a smaller eat...like fruit or a breakfast sandwich they don't have. Its also more expensive than other places. Just the attitude and atmosphere ruined it. Every other place we have been to has been super accommodating and reasonable. We all won't be be returning.
Great tasting food. I love their French toast and pastas, and caesar salad. The food always takes a little more time to come out than other places, but it's worth the wait!
Food was really good. It did take a while before a server would take our order, but other than that, great experience.
Always good food and service. Nothing fancy, just good grub and healthy portions.
Great family restaurant. Food is good service is good price eeeesh. But ok
A great place to eat! Weve never had a bad meal here and have been coming for years. Washrooms are spotless!
What a nostalgic restaurant. The staff are super friendly and helpful. The food was so good. Highly recommend.Had the club sandwich with a salad Had choices of sides. When I got the lunch the sandwich was large, the salad was in a bowl and was also large. Was delicious too. Staff friendly and helpful, even though the sign said they were short of staff. Food came quickly.
This is a great place to eat. The food is terrific and the people are great. Wheelchair accessibility: Yes it is wheelchair accessible Food : 5/5 |
Food was okay Ive only ever had breakfast there limited menu but reccoment the crazy 8s breaky
Ordered spagetti. took for ever and came with with uncooked noodles so tough the knife did not want to cut them. and forget a salad at almost $15 for a ceaser salad. The place was dead at supper time so that tells a story. This place used to be busy every minute it was open and now being run into the ground
Great stop for lunch! Old school Diner food and feel.
Staff is always super attentive to any needs and special requests, super friendly... food was hot and delicious...great spot to bring familys
Food was ok,service could of been better.
Amazing old school diner restaurant with good size portions and delicious food.
Very local restaurant, good food and fast service.
Dont be fooled by the lack of parking. This place is very large inside. The food was great. Coffee not too bad as well. We went in with limited expectations and came out full and happy.
Do not recommend this place!!!! Went there for lunch, got our drinks and that was it, the server didn t even come back to take our food order, ended up leaving after 20 minutes of no service. The place wasn t busy at all, never stepping a foot in there again. All the servers were just hanging out by the kitchen, not checking on the customers.
Stopped in for breakfast twice during my trip. Food is excellent, service is great, and its conveniently located (especially if youre staying in one of the inns in the area). Parking: When it gets busy, parking seems to be a tad bit difficult, but there are plenty of spots along Frontage Rd with free parking if needed
All we had was breakfast but it was good.
Retro dinner
We thoroughly enjoyed the food at Harold s Family restaurant. We noticed the crowded parking lot while driving by and decided to give it a try. Highly recommend!
Absolutely delicious burgers ! A must have for everyone trying to find good and still affordable food !!! Food
Worst brkfst Ive had there..no taste to sausages and some reason I couldnt get my hot water filled. Will try again but not for a while
Great meal.
Some basic cleaning of floors and window sills needs to be done. Classic old diner with photos of Elvis and Marilyn Monroe, should play some music?? Good food and slow service on a Sunday afternoon. Wheelchair accessibility: Ramp available
This has been a pit-stop for my family and I for years and years. Lovely people, amazing food, and a perfect spot for a mid-trip break!
Fantastic burgers
Went in today and I have been here in the past. Today we had a server we never had before and I hope we don t ever have her again! We sat in a booth where you could see the kitchen. We sat there watching our food get cold as the server was just standing over by the bar area doing nothing. Finally someone told her our food was ready and she slowly moved to get it. She never once came by for a quality check, or to see if we needed anything. I had to call out for her to get us waters and to go box. I have never had bad service here until today. She looked shocked that she didn t get a tip. Her loss! Tips are for the level of service she gave none she got none.
Great experience. All the staff were memorably kind and attentive. The food portions were generous. We had a burger hashbrowns and hollandaise. Everything tasted great. Fun diner atmosphere
LOVE Harolds. Great food always!
Part of the meal they served was cold, like they just took it out of the fridge. Then didnt come to ask how things were going until I had finished the rest of the meal. Too late to even correct!
Its a classic diner
Nice place, good food, and services. Thank you.
We were a group of 9 and everyone was very happy with their meals. Service was good and attentive.
Still arguably THE BEST HAMBURGER in the interior. - Service, 10 points - Hamburger, 11 points - Apple pie, 12 points Thanks for being open all these years, keep it going....
Went there for breakfast and all was so good
Excellent homemade food....not packaged frozen crap reheated.
Has been my favorite place for breakfast and lunch with my family. Been going here since I was a child. Still just as good as always Kid-friendliness: Fun kids menu
Stopped for dinner on our way to Kelowna, I ordered a salisbury steak - horrible, the ONLY thing that was even warm was the gravy. the steak tasted like it was day old - over cooked . The corn on the cob was cold as ice. and very little fries... The other dish was a grilled atlantic salmon, it was cold , was not grilled.. again corn on the cob was cold, and the rice was ok. the last dish we ordered was the spaghetti - noodle were over cooked, and the sauce tased like it came from a can....
Never a bad time at Harolds diner! Do yourself a favour and grab some breakfast here the next time youre hungry!
I have been multiple times, exclusively ordering the breakfast food items, and my review speaks only to that experience. Great decor, great staff and service, feels very clean and inviting. The food is mediocre, and features packedged fake hollandaise. Eggs Benedict are inedible because of the powdered mix holindaise. Potatoe sides are an afterthought, poorly seasoned, and its cooking quality varies. Things like toast, pancakes, bacon, sausage are fine and as expected. Its not cheap enough to be a greasy spoon, and definitely doesnt present itself as one; but the low quality, corner cutting cooking makes it one. I would recommend the Mt. Paul golf course restaurant for a better, near by dining experience; or Dennys because its also better.
Part three added , as they are now threatening us for telling the truth .We usually go there for many, many years. And always excellent service. She always tops up our coffee right away. After she serves the plate shes there a couple of minutes later. Check-in to see if everythings OK. Well, today was a terrible experience. We had a new young inexperienced waitress that Ive never seen before. Shes very rude and has no communication skills. She dropped placed our plates on the table and then walked away. And then I tried getting eye contact with them and they wouldnt look at me and even continued walking further away from our table not checking on my plate. I actually had to call out. And Say excuse me and all of a sudden, I got a bad attitude. She came over, and I said. These potatoes are below par.Theyre burnt to a crisp .I dont really have a lot of time.I think its fair that you just take a little bit off my bill. She replied :no. Im not reducing your bill. So I looked at her and said well then. Im not gonna eat this meal and Im not paying for it. So then she said , :oh yes, you are gonna pay for it or Im calling the cops, so I told her go ahead. Call the cops and make it quick. I dont have much time. I have to go to work. And then when they show up and see the burnt potatoes, they will agree with me and they will say that they would not pay for that either. She had a bad attitude this waitress needs to learn how to do business and treat customers correctly. If it werent for the past experiences and the good staff that have been there before. Along with the good food, I would probably never come back , this one waitresses actions was shockingly below par. She is very, very rude to say. Im gonna call the police because youre not satisfied with your meal. does that make sense to you ? anyways, I was so upset. I lost my appetite and did not enjoy my meal. After that, the manager graciously took $2 off the meal price which was reasonable. Because moneys not the issue, its principles here and bad behaviour And thats one waitress that did not get a $20 tip today like I usually tip the lady that usually serves us. Now it being 3 months later. We thought we would give Harolds restaurantt another try low and behold the same rude waitress was there to greet us at the door so I kindly said table for 2 When she sees us down with the menus , I then said may I have another Waitress please I said nothing other than that. The rude Waitress. from before Took offence to that And told us to get out of the restaurants And lied ! She Said that we were swearing That Is a lie and went to the manager Angry and asked us to leave We have been going to this restaurant for years and now we will never return Because they are extremely rude And the waitress is I not reasonable and Is a liar . Harolds restaurant has Just lost two Too long time patrons That had breakfast there. Now we would rather not go Because they are extremely rude and the lie to save her feelings . What a joke I Will never come back . We pretty much figured that this must be the owners daughter. Shes rude. Shes a liar and shes bad for business. We will never, ever come back and were gonna tell everybody about this rude behavior and spoiled childish ways . I see that more people have said the same thing as me and they will probably go out of business before you know it. Because theyve jacked their prices up to and their foods, not really that good anyways . Just a bunch of rude behavior from a spoiled brat that lies. Now a week later it continues . Will thease slanderous people quit ? Just now I was told by my girlfriend that this rude waitress has searched my Facebook and in a harassing way told her to tell me to take down this posting in a threatning manner.. That they will charge me with slander. Wich is rediculouse. When its them lieing and starting problems with thier bad business ethics .Its my freedom of the truth & speech. I would not waste my time in posting this if it was not true . Harolds is a nightmare.
After 15 years its still great food and service. It was sad that the staff back then are not around anymore, but the new staff are doing great. Parking: Parking is a bit tight and not really enough of it.
Great food. Fantastic service. Older place but well maintained. Excellent pies . Would definately go again
My wife and I had breakfast. It was Pancakes, eggs, sausage and bacon. My wife complained about how rubbery eggs were and the sausages with overcooked and she refused to eat them. I didnt think much about and ate mine, it until later but I got the runs all day. I doubt I ll ever go back. They seem complacent. After all, they are on motel row, with plenty of unsuspecting travelers.
Really nice and charming stop for lunch, especially the service of the young and friendly waiters. We enjoyed it!
Cinnamons roll was disgusting and had to wait 40 min for my food and it was not worth it
We always have a nice meal here and the staff are friendly.
Service and atmosphere is amazing! Best breakfast in Canada and best pot of tea this side of the pond! 100% recommend:)
Our breakfast was great, hot and delicious.
Our waitress was fantastic. Friendly and effecient. The food was horrible. We ordered 2 burgers. The grilled chicken burger was so dry, sawdust woukd have been better. The gravy that came in a little side dish had a skin on it. The fries were hard as wood, and very greasy. The mushroom burger had a burnt patty.. and the guy eating it likes charred meat, so for him to complain it was seriously burnt. The slice of tomato on top was mostly green core..inedible and woukd be thrown away in a kitchen, let alone any decent eatery. This place is a true greasy spoon
A must stop if you are going through Kamloops. Fun 50s style diner...food fresh and very tasty. Clean throughout. Server was nice...cashier not so much. Still I would highly recommend this establishment
We are so fortunate that restaurants like Harolds are still around. It is a lost tradition to have such amazing home style food on the menu. We will definitely be eating there again. Food
The Food is tremendous and reasonably priced served with good homemade proportions. Harolds will always be my place to stop when traveling through Kamloops
Had the ham n cheese omlette. I would have enjoyed it more with mushrooms n green onions but it was nice.
Just a good ol family home-cooked meal. Friends mom had liver and onions, she had burger and I had pork cutlets. Good sized portions and taste was as it should be. The young man taking our orders was attentive and polite. Old style decor. Wheelchair accessibility: Good front accessibility but unfortunately, bathrooms are downstairs.
Good.. could be better? I appreciate the fact that it is a locally owned business and it s been here a while and would love for it to stay decades more! When my group dined here for brunch it didn t seem that busy. Order came slow around 30-45 mins? But it was delicious, except for our burnt toast. Baby chair wasn t clean, it was sticky so I had to wipe it myself. Washrooms were clean though. Server was very friendly. Overall would come back.
Getting too expensive. I wanted a breakfast wrap but wasnt on the menu and wouldnt accommodate me.
Excellent food, fantastic service, great prices and selection
Such a great diner with all scratch made dishes. Get some pie if you stop there Food
My kind of place, food was absolutely over the top great, why I say that is because I have no teeth, and hostess helped me on what Im able to eat with ease. Thanks again Food
We have eaten there before was very good and severe was great but the other day the one severer I think was going through PMs and was it bad will never go back.
First time going here, food was great, atmosphere was fun, loved the theme. They were a bit short staffed that day, but staff was friendly and food was good. I had the Salisbury and it was delicious.
Recently we were delayed in Kamloops due to a vehicle repair. Our little family of 3 popped in to Harolds and were pleasantly surprised by the fun 50s diner atmosphere. The staff were all so friendly and accommodated a food restriction of mine even though it required preparing something not on the dinner menu. The staff were friendly and genuinely happy to be at work. The best part of our visit was our server Johnny. Its very rare to find someone so caring and good at their job. Overall everything exceeded our expectations.... The food was perfect and the prices were still SO reasonable!!!! Would highly recommend checking this place out ... Totally not your everyday diner. Fresh breath of air in an overpriced and under enthused world.
Good food. Great service
Went for Breakfast. The food taste like home. Our server was a nice friendly young man. My mom forgot her wallet at the booth and he was kind enough to put it behind the counter for us. Nice to know there are still honest people out there. Had dinner there as well and it didn t disappoint. Thanks again to the kind honest young man.
Oh My God that was great New place for me to stop when in Kamloops!
We had a great dinner at Harold s! We stopped here on our trip, and were pleasantly surprised at the quality and service. My husband had the perogies and sausage and loved it, and I had the beef dip which was also very good. The portions are huge! Also love the atmosphere. It s a cute diner with lots of pictures of Elvis which would make my grandma very happy . The waiter and hostess were very friendly and attentive. Kid-friendliness: Have a good kids menu!
Food was overcooked, meals were taken away before finished eating. Server was young but polite and courteous. Server needs more training, and he ll be great! Did not ask us whether we wanted anything to drink. Did not ask us if we were done our meals and took away my husband s before he was finished. my apologies but at this time, I don t recommend eating here or their food
My husband and I went for dinner on June 19 at 5 pm. It was not all that busy. We ordered our food liver and onions and salsbury dinner. while we are waiting other people came in. An older couple sitting across from us said they had waited 45 minutes for their meal . I thought they were joking. But as I realized we also waited 45 minutes and still nothing so we decided to leave . The waiter said it would be out right away but no I had to leave to do other things. It was the kitchen staff that were very very slow.We have been there many times and now realized we only go in the day time as thats when you get good service and fast hot food. This was very diapointing for us and others who were there.
Food is good.
Definitely be back ...good food!
Wow Great service, food was homemade from scratch I went here as a kid. Stopped with friends and family
Best way to start your day!
I love going to Harolds. We went not too long ago with 2 children and 3 adults. They served us fast. The food is all made in house including awesome dessert options. I liked how they served the kids first - saves kids getting anxious Parking: Theres a fair bit of parking and its right off the highway Kid-friendliness: They have crayons and coloring books for the kids Wheelchair accessibility: Theres a wheelchair ramp. Bathrooms are downstairs though is the only issue
If youre feeling nostalgic this is a great diner to check out. The 50s/60s old school diner feel was definitely in full effect. Service was awesome. My server she had a positive impression and never let my coffee go cold or empty. My food was quick and fairly decent my knock on the food was my breakfast sausages seemed cold or day old. Rest of the meal was decent.
We have been to Harolds numerous times. We like the atmosphere and the servers are all great. I frequently get the salmon dinner with rice pilaf instead of potatoes. Nice to see fresh veggies on the plate and I like this meal. We were very sad to see that they no longer seemed to have the home-made fries. (I can also see the difference in recent vs older pictures in other reviews). Other meals we have had (fish and chips, chicken fingers, quesadillas) have been ok . There is not a lot of seasoning in anything we have had which you may or may not like. The clubhouse is good. Sorry we didnt take pictures!
Had a wonderful breakfast
Great place to eat. Good size portions
Best Ceasar salad in Kamloops great portions with a nice view.
An amazing lost in time diner that delivers hearty home cooked food that s becoming so hard to find. Healthy portions, fast service, friendly staff, clean and welcoming restaurant. From order to table in under 15 min.
Food and service is great...dont go to Kamloops much but love to eat here when we can...thx
The food and service were great, it was a nice rest stop on our way through .
Great Food and Great Staff. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this restaurant. Food
Was such a great experience. our server Mekhi was so smiley & so kind. definitely recommend him as your server!!!
I was amazed by the waitress, who remembered not only my order but exactly how I liked it. Kudos to her, made my day.
Decent family diner , with all the classic meals.
Always great food there love that place
They were short staffed and we ended up leaving to go eat at a better restaurant as they didnt even ask us if we wanted something to drink for 9ver 15 minutes so we just left. Over helped with work they need to pay the staff better, most likely will never go back as they were not looking out for the customer that are paying to eat at their restaurant. No respect for them anymore.
Tasty food, awesome service! Thank you !
I hadnt been here in over 20 years but heard good things about it. It was mid afternoon St. Patricks Day. No St. Paddys Day specials but that is fine. My father had the fish and chips and my sister and I shared the Salisbury Steak dinner. BEST salisbury steak dinner I have had in a long time. The vegetables were fresh and cooked to perfection and the fries were homemade/home-cut and delicious! The portions were huge. My Dad was very happy with the food and so were my sister and I. We also had your lemon meringue pie and the graham cracker crust was made with butter. You could tell by the taste. Our server Mekhi was a little gem, attentive and professional. We will be back!
Excellent service Excellent food Friendly staff and clean atmosphere Great job Food : 5/5 |
Had a BLT for lunch. Cool atmosphere
Won t be back
Decent meal, Decent prices, friendly service. Good place!
Waiter was good but food was semi warm okay for flavor .
Very bad
Love the family feeling they were very Accommodating with my nephews
Best breakfast in kamploops by far , I m a super picky eater and it s just so good servers are super friendly ! ! Best food old school dinner place I ve probably ever been to and there music is awesome if you like oldies !
Very good overall, Reuben and Swiss burgers were excellent
Service was slow and rude. Food wasnt any better: congealed hollandaise and undercooked hashbrowns.
the meal took quite awhile as they were short staffed. the server was pleasant, and the atmosphere was comfortable, clean restaurant.
Been a long time since I have been there. Out of towners and all. ... breakfast was spot on ! Thank you
Found a hair in my food, rude waitresses, people seated before us, missing ingredients in food and when complained they took the price of the missing ingredients off the sandwich, and not the sandwich itself. Not a pleasant experience, used to be our go to. Wont be back. -DB Food
My family have eaten here since late 60s and they have never failed to please, would recommend to anyone who enjoys great home cooking. Service is very good.
Food was very Good enjoyable restaurant.
They have gone downhill in the last yr. Dont you dare complain about your food after being overserved (the waitress didnt want to open a new bottle of mix at 8PM). They will try to charge you with assault for touching someones shoulder. Customer service is just not there anymore!! Food
If I could have more stars for the food that would be great lol. I think 10 stars would be good !!! The eggs Benny is amazing!!!!!!! I get mine with bacon not ham. But hands down best breakfast ever!!
Great Omelets!
Our group stopped at Harold s while rolling through town after a bachelor party. Service was fast and friendly, and the food quality and quantity was great, considering the affordable pricing. The house made chicken tenders were incredible! Will definitely be stopping in again next time I m in town.
Really good food! Homemade crispy chicken, handmade burger patties, Im sure the ceasar dressing and gravy were also homemade! Fries were crispy and delicious! Love the decor and had a lovely, attentive young waiter! Weve been on holidays for two weeks and have eaten at many restaurants in different cities and this might have been the best meal weve had!
All food was great but since everything is fresh should have fresh cut fries as well
I was out street hiking and thought with all the franchises around I would go into Harolds to support a local place.i had a water bottle with me as it was 30 degrees outside, the lady didnt even say hello, she told me I couldnt come in because I had a water bottle with me!! Ignorant woman, thought a tourist would be treated better. A&W up the road was more than happy to serve me with my water bottle in hand. Much friendlier too
Anything i have had here has been awesome the staff are really nice too parking lot is always full tells you there s something good going on inside
Its always a pleasure dining here. Staff is very welcoming, knowledgeable, and amazingly friendly. Good food, and great portions. Would recommend trying at least once... youll be hooked!
Cool 50s or 60s Diner. Great service. Good food. Fast service. Always good.
This place was really good at one time but the last 2 times it was terrible. I wont go back!
Old school diner
Great home style food. The crazy eights breakfast is awesome! It s like stepping back in time. A classic 50 s diner.
Its not shaped like a diner, and the waitstaff are not in diner aprons, but it has the diner feel. Eggs @ sausage and pancakes were a nice breakfast break on the way to Kamloops. Not quite enough parking for how popular the place is. Parking: We had to park next door in the motel parking and hope we get and get in trouble.
I enjoyed a diner style breakfast.
Cook must have bin having a bad day. Beef dip was very bland and the ruban was absolutely soggie and terrible ! Brunette manager was giving us nasty glares as we gave our complaints. extremely RUDE !!!! WAY 2 expensive 4 the quality of food !!! I will never eat there again.
Stopped in for lunch definitely short staffed but they tried admirably to get it all done. Cudos to them.
Super cute atmosphere, friendly staff. Cant believe I havent been here before.
If your looking for some good home style food come here. You can order from their lunch menu all day too!
Food use to be way better & bigger
My dinner was HUGE and even came with extra stuff not mentioned on the menu, excellent family restaurant
The staff are super friendly, and the food was amazing. Will definitely stop in again next time were coming through Kamloops.
Awesome food and service is the best!! Server and owner looked after us Well be back! Food : 5/5
I did not enjoy my experience. I ordered the salmon in came overcooked and underseasoned. I was very disappointe. And It was way overpriced
I LOVED this place!! they have the nicest people and the food was incredible! i had the chicken quesadilla and they were sooo good, 10/10 would definitely recommend! Wheelchair accessibility: there s a ramp to get in and no stairs other than the washroom having stairs down to it!
Great benny!
Amazing home cooked meals. We always chose Harolds when we drive through Kamloops!
Food was good, service to slow and bad at drink refills, prices high.
Good food
Place got our ball team in real fast, which we were grateful. Waited 20 minutes before we had to ask when our orders were going to be taken, and its been over an hour and we are still waiting..We understand short staff may be an issue and hope the business has continued success but we know better for next time.
Great spot for dinner after work. If it wasnt for the fact they nearly fed me a weeks worth of food in one plate, I would have got a slice of pie for dessert. This place feels like eating at grannies house.
Me and my wife were in town for some leisure activity s we stopped by Harold s for some breakfast. Wow I did not expect the service and food excellence everything from the breakfast to the service was 5 star, also we went back later that evening for dinner. We had the spaghetti and fish and chips , best we have had in a long long time, the server whose name was Micah was exceptional, kudos to him, I think all servers could learn something from him, i should mention that the breakfast server was exceptional as well we just didn t get her name. Anyways kiddos to Harold s I would recommend the place to all hands down best we have had in a long time. Parking: Parking was perfect
A great place to eat, food was really good
Great food reasonable prices
Great breakfast spot. One my favourites in the area.
A great place to stop when in town. Great service, great homemade food.
Old fashioned diner with todays prices.
Remember how this used to be a good restaurant? Yah, its not anymore. Lol over poured our wine we ordwred than told us we had to pay extra glasses because their mistake, took wayyyy to long just for a bowl of soup, over priced and mediocre terrible management.
reat food, excellent service, not much else you can say.
One of the best breakfasts in Kamloops. The staff was friendly and professional.
Stopped here for brunch, a nice place, and a super nice waitress! The food was okay, typical family/brunch place. Definitely recommend. UPDATE: visited recently and everything was good but one thing surprised me - they are not allowed to serve ceasars until a certain hour. Around 11am the server told us she was not able to make ceasars because it was too early. Not a big deal, just wanted to mention it :)
An old school style dinner. Food was good. Nothing fancy. Decent size portions. Above average service.
Good place quite nostalgic
Easily the best diner in town.
With heavy heart I write this review. Let me start by saying we have been regulars at Harolds for a very long time. We came in today and it took over 20 min to even get out drink order taken, at the 45 Min and everyone around us being served their meals and food ( party of 6, party or 4 ) we a party of 3 asked why our food had not been served. We were told they were busy. Minutes later a second person was about to deliver out food. I assumed she was a manager or supervisor so I said , I just want to talk to you about how bad the service has been today, she immediately started to interrupt me and tell me she was busy , she said I was being rude and attacking her. I asked to finish what I had to say before she responded. She said she will not be attacked , again and that they were busy. After years in the industry I hate hearing this as a excuse for poor customer service. Busy is the goal not the problem. We immediately got up and left I stopped to thank out server that we regularly get and will never be back. Its sad it was a favorite. Never have I been happier with a meal at Dennys then Harold. How sad.
It s just your good ol diner. Nothing fancy just fill your belly and go.
The food was very good. The service was phenomenal. The staff stayed late to accommodate us as we arrived fairly close to closing. Plenty of parking for pasenger vehicles but no parking for semis, sorry fellow drivers. Overall recommend
Harolds USE to be a great place for a home cooked meal at a decent price. Floors were clean, and waitresses were at your table as soon as you walked in, or let you know they soon would be. But when you see the manager talking with a customer for over half an hour, you realize where the waitresses got their...training. Menu prices are insane for what you get. $20 for what they call a Reuben sandwich. A few slices of smoked meat on rye and even though I could barely find it, the swiss cheese looked like processed cheese. And who puts peppers on a classic Reuben? We are NEVER going back. If you want a FANTASTIC Reuben, go to Scotts. That chef KNOWS how to make THE BEST Reuben. And the best beef barley soup. And the best apple crumble. The best of everything. Including the service.
Good breakfast, coffee was good. eggs and toast and sausage were delicious. Has the 50s era of elvis and classic cars inside. Music could have been a bit quieter for the morning , but all in all would reccomend. Parking: Easy to find as you can see the restaurant from the No. 1 highway going into Kamloops
Great food and dessert. Love the 50s vibe. Service was great but I think we had a new server that was in training. It was still good, but not experienced with the dessert menu. Overall a great time
Great service. We had Eggs Benedict. It was done perfectly. It is a wonderful place. Food : 5/5
The staff is very friendly and the restaurant is clean. The food, I think its the best in Kamloops
My Daughter and I stopped for breakfast. Most enjoyable sitting in the memorabilia. Food
Ample portions, effective service but parking was a slight challenge
Pleasantly surprised! 50 s themed diner. Very clean, great staff, great service , big portions. We ll be visiting again!
Awesome food! Great service!
Its been a good decade or more since Ive been here and nothing has changed...thats a good thing! Breakfast was as I remembered it, the place is upkept and clean, awesome service and the food is pretty good just as it always was. Parking: Its hit and miss but most lunch hours and long weekends parking is more of a challenge. Kid-friendliness: Like most places. Wheelchair accessibility: Except for the bathroom as its downstairs. Maybe theres an elevator that Ive not seen, not sure.
Great food. Great service. Great atmosphere.
Delicious food, awesome atmosphere and very friendly staff. Recommend.
Great food makes you feel like mons cooking
The food was excellent. Best hand cut French fries that I have had since I had my restaurant. Beef dip was fabulous with very generous portions of beef served on a hoagie bun. Even the side of gravey was excellent. Service was attentive but not over kill. Pies on display look so good but I was just too full. Maybe next time I will have pie.
Salisbury stake was awesome!
Very neat old school diner , nice staff and great menu
