After an exhaustive online search for a new dining experience, we fatefully settled on Jadoo's, lured in by tantalizing photos of patio ambience and food. With reservation confirmed by text, excitement mounted for our evening out. How swiftly our optimism soured, like curdled milk in the Indian sun. Like a mirage, Jadoo's proved elusive, with nary a sign in the dim, dreary hotel lobby to guide us. Aimless wandering finally revealed a vague mention of two restaurants split between floors. Which was Jadoo's? A guessing game we refused to play. Arriving at a lifeless floor, we found only a locked door beside a sign for the so-called "Eclectic Indian Cuisine." No answer on the phone. No explanation. Just hollow rings echoing through the vacant space, until voicemail put us out of our misery. Forced to scavenge sustenance elsewhere, we returned home baffled. The listing showed recent updates - but when? Before or after this spectacular failure to launch? Such disregard for patrons and lack of basic business acumen fills me with scorn. I suppose one could give Jadoo's another chance, with the optimism of the condemned picking out their last meal. But why waste stomach space on an owner who lacks the appetite to make even a bare minimum effort? Let the vultures circle; this carcass of a restaurant is already dead.
They were accepting reservations while they weren't in operation. My girlfriend and I went there and the staff directed us to Columbia diner. Seems like they are just using jadoo reservations to drive more business to Columbia diner? Pretty shady honestly. We didnt eat there to say the least.
A big NO ! Do yourself a favour and never order from here. I usually dont leave negative reviews but this had to be it. Cant resist not saving anyone i can from ordering here. Ordered chole bhature (no side of onions, barely any salt, grains of dirt in it) and costed me $30 (for 2 as it was a promo). Tasted so bad I had to throw both of them away. If i knew I would be getting completely bland and tasteless dinner I’d have cooked noodles at home. I previously have tried dabeli and pav bhaji from here out of curiosity and just couldnt have a second bite. Didnt leave a review as I thought maybe they’ll improve since they were new at that time. They clearly are just in it for money and will close so stop supporting visionless businesses.
My wife and I went here for dinner tonight. We were not expecting a whole new magnificent dining experience. The view was stunning as was the service. The food….the food was next level! Everything was delicious, like flavour explosions in your mouth, and each dish was presented uniquely based on its history and cultural influence. The signature drinks we ordered were awesome as well. My wife got the French Kiss, presented in an Eiffel Tower bottle. I got the Toast to Chai which was presented with the steam from dry ice; it was like drinking a magic potion. We both highly recommend this restaurant.
I really really wanted to like this place. After many positive reviews and the promise of Indian Fusion Street food my husband surprised me with a reservation for Valentines Day. While the location provides for a pretty spectacular view over the valley - beware- if you have mobility issues - there is no elevator and you have to climb three flights of stairs. Not an issue for us but could be for others who may not be aware. The tables are tall tables, and small. Best for an appetizer or just drinks. Not for dinner. I was super disappointed right off the top when there was a set menu and nothing else was on offer. All the lovely sounding fusion food at 17.99 or less was not available. And while the bar was fully stocked and with a bartender. Our server told us we could only choose from one of the two $18 cocktails on offer or a bottle of wine priced between $69 and $89 with a $149 bottle of champagne. I did manage to get a $15 glass of wine after saying we certainly didn't need a bottle. As for the menu. There was only a set menu with no prices. AGAIN very sad that I couldn't order what I was there for the " innovative street fusion food" that is so unique to this location - BUT we thought the dishes sounded good on the menu and it was probably too late to go elsewhere for V day. The set menu consisted of an amuse bouche, with two choices for each of the following - a starter, a salad, an entree and a dessert. In order to get a full take on the place - my husband and I shared all of the menu choices. AMUSE BOUCHE - a quarter cup of clarified butter with toasted cumin seeds and a shred of mozzarella cheese (inedible as the soup it was presented as) perhaps I could have eaten with bread? STARTER - two shrimp (okay) or laughing cow size paneer (fine). SALADS - carrot salad two carrot shreds with some pumpkin seeds, goat cheese (my best bites of the night - but not Indian and not fusion) Fruit salad - see picture(sad) ENTREE: lamb shank was slow cooked with a chutney - very good . Not enough sauce for the two cups of dry rice or the very small cut piece of naan. The vegetarian choice was three one inch balls of air fried something /2 cups of dry rice and about a quarter cup of dipping sauce. (meh). DESSERT: frozen milk with rose sauce - not a lot of taste but tried real hard in presentation. The brownie bomb was that, ice cream with a broken one bit brownie and chocolate sauce.. (okay). BOTTOM LINE: underwhelmed. Waiter however was AMAZING- he hustled and did some flourishes to impress. Atmosphere was meh. Food was meh. $160 spent. Enjoyed my time with my husband. Oh Jadoo I really wanted to like you - but didn't. If you're looking for a place to have drinks on a deck overlooking the city go there later this summer if they're still in business.
What a beautiful place this is! Wonderful views, fantastic food and drinks (my drink was served in an Eiffel Tower bottle and my MIL's was served with dry ice in a teapot! Magical indeed!) , and Rishi was an amazing host. We were well looked after during our first visit to Jadoo, and would not hesitate to come back! We went to try out the newly offered unlimited Thali and were not disappointed. There was so many things to try, and we enjoyed it all. Especially the dessert!
This was the ad. “”An extraordinary buffet of authentic Indian street food including PaaniPoori, Aloo Tikki, and more! Spirit-free mimosa included”” Review: Nothing extraordinary about the buffet. The only food that tasted good the omelette with bun. Their veg and non vegetarian items weren’t great even though they were on the grill did feel good cause the kebab were the frozen ones you get at at store. There was only one non veg and veg curry and that was pretty average. There is nothing about this restaurant buffet for 30$.
An amazing culinary and visual experience! The flavors are second to none and the service impeccable. The gorgeous view is an added bonus. Definitely my new favorite restaurant!! We are already reserving for Sunday brunch.
Best chole bhature in town.
Awesome food, great service
My new favourite restaurant!! The best cocktail place in town !!
Got the fish tacos (I said that wrong) and they were awesome. To be honest, all good food, very nice atmosphere and tastefully elegant restaurant. Food : 5/5
First thing to notice was the Schitts Creek Tropical Cafe sized drink menu and followed by dinner menu. Menu options are unclear and overly wordy and doesn t really explain what you will be eating. Slow service, took a long time to receive drinks in an empty restaurant, took equally as long to get appetizers 2 combo appie platters for 6 people. The food was good although only 1 of the 5 items on the platter I would have again. Asked for them to be split on the bill and we re overcharged double. Appetizers and 2 drinks took 2 hours and then were overcharged plus no mention of automatic gratuity. We were refunded. Staff were friendly and accommodating but seemed inexperienced. We went to Earls after and in one hour received full meals and also 2 drinks that were on special so was roughly the same price. We won t be retuning to Jados unfortunately.
Best service ever recieved, great value brunch options. creative twist on comfort indian food
We had such a wonderful first experience here! Definitely recommend if you re looking for a special experience of deliciously crafted cocktails and a unique twist on Indian cuisine!
We had an awesome time this past weekend at Jadoos! The location itself was great with a view of the city. The staff were incredibly genuine and friendly. Our food was also phenomenal and the overall experience and vibe was fun. Can you imagine comparing this spot to Earls in a review? I guess someone was happier with their generic go-to spot. We were happy to wait in-between plates and the speciality drinks and really enjoyed the evening. Well see you again soon!
Long weekend. Understaffed. Courteous staff but terribly slow service for food that s prepared beforehand (thali). Food was Luke warm at best and some items were even cold after biting into it. If it s a long weekend, don t bother stopping by.
Tasty food and was surprised with a thali. We were travelling from Seattle to Calgary and this restaurant made the stop in Kamloops totally worth it. Yes, there is a room for improvement in service times but that s something I hope they will get it fixed soon.
Amazing food, atmosphere and service
The flavors danced on my tongue! Plus it was almost too pretty in presentation to eat. The service was wonderful as well. Delightful & fresh atmosphere.
Stayed in the hotel and went for drinks and food. Was an amazing experience from food to drinks to service. Will be making this a stop on my trips from now on. Thanks guys
Great food presentation and interesting yet delicious fusion food Vegetarian options: The snacks had lots of veggie options. They are still working on the menu.... Loved what we ate though Food : 5/5 |
Don t be fooled by the interesting sounding menu. They have truly bad food and predatory pricing. I got takeout and ordered the Chicken Cafreal thinking I d love to try an Indian twist on chicken and waffles. What I got was two tiny flat pieces of burnt, dry chicken that they tried to hide under too much sauce, along with luke-warm flavorless waffles. To add insult to injury, I ordered a mango lassi over the phone, because I didn t see it on the menu. I was SHOCKED they tried to charge me $10 for it, and after taking a sip, it wasn t even a good one. They told me my order was going to be ready in 30 minutes, and I had to sit and wait an extra 15 more for it to be ready. This was just a really bad experience all around.
Very elegantly plated and inspired dishes. The flavours were a welcome adventure for the pallette. We thouroughly enjoyed the whole experience.
A beautifully unique spot to dine in Kamloops! Incredible food, delicately plated with heart and soul evident in design and flavour. Two of us shared the Aloo Tikki, Chicken Tikka Bao, and Keema Pao Bhaji, paired with a few of their magical cocktails. The food was delicious, the staff were friendly, and the atmosphere was such a treat. We will be back for sure!
Delicious food..fantastic ambience..one of the best Indian cuisine restaurant
It was very good, especially for being opened for only a month at the time of writing this. There were a few minor issues, but those will likely be solved by the time you are reading this. I am not to sure about the pricing as I was taken here for lunch and was paid for. It was very good overall!
