Jamaican Kitchen in Kamloops

The food is amazing. I always order traditional Jamaican food here. The tables and inside need some work but its clean and best food ever.

My girlfriend just moved into one of the apartments down the road from this place, we were thinking about what to get for lunch and decided to take a stroll and see what we find. We stumbled upon this place I was like Ive never had Jamaican food other then a beef patty... BEST DECISION WEVE EVER MADE! I got the jerk chicken sandwich, she got the pulled pork sandwich, the pulled pork was perfect it melted in your mouth and was seasoned flawlessly. The chicken was some of the best Ive ever had cooked to perfection and I wasnt expecting spice, but ooh it was and not the cheap feeling spice its like a slow burn that adds a perfect layer to your food. It got a little busy but everytime I was even thinking about needing a water refill or anything she was already on the way or offering. Took a little bit to get the food but its 100% worth it. Will be going again for an oxtail and a cheese cake next time I come down to see my girlfriend.

Oh my lanta, best breakfast in kamloops hands down! Had the Jamaican sunrise I believe its called, pulled jerk pork eggs Benny I could have ate 6 of them, it was delicious, Im excited to come back to try more menu items! Thank you for starting my Sunday off with a fantastic breakfast!!!

If youre missing the fantastic food you had in Jamaica. Then you need to come eat at the Jamaican Kitchen. Its absolutely delicious and authentic. I will absolutely be going there regularly.

Amazing food, if you ve been thinking about trying this place out, just do it. We went for breakfast, had the sunshine benny and the skillet both were great!, will be going back to try their lunch menu. Short staffed, only had one front and one back, so things took a little longer than usual but worth the wait.

This was one of thr most disappointing experiences with food in a long time. I went in hoping for a quick Jamaican Patty and I was served a pre packaged patty king that was cut open heated and had lettuce and tomatoes. They assured me that it was street style I had a Guinness and another disappointing experience as they poured a can from the fridge. My bill came to 45$ with tip and it was basically a can of Guinness, a prepackaged patty and one old fashioned. I dont think that I would return to the place. The service was great but food was sub par

The sunshine eggs Benny is soooo good! I ve tried a lot of items from this place and it never disappoints. The owners are great and when the one is cooking the food somehow tastes even better. There s one server that isnt very good and I m not sure why. I still go obviously because of the food but I usually get take out.

I bought food from this stall at the Kamloops Caribbean Festival. I am from Jamaica and this is one of the best tastes closest to home that I have had. I have limited taste due to covid but I could taste the coconut milk in the rice and oeas. Amazing and Very enjoyable.

This little kitchen is a great place to eat. Prices are reasonable, staff is fantastic, and the food is delicious. I really recommend trying this place out.

Just had breakfast here for the first time and kicking myself for not coming earlier. I had the jamaican skillet and it was unreal! Went for lunch today. Chicken curry soup was fantastic, and the jerk chicken breast was amazing. I have been crazy jerk for a while, and they definitely came through. They are incredible people. Nice little slice of the carribean here at home. Will be back very soon.

Amazing, feels so much like home

Easily my favourite breakfast spot on the North Shore and one of the best in Kamloops. A wonderful family run business that I recommend to everyone. Their hollandaise sauce is the best in town!

Delicious authentic Jamaican food. The patties are perfectly seasoned and the pastry is flaky and light. The pulled pork sandwich was a very generous portion and melted in my mouth. The patties also freeze well and heat up well in an air fryer. Great service and lovely owners. Highly recommend.

I love this place! Food is so good, they have vegan options, potions are GREAT, and you can tell they use quality ingredients. Staff is very friendly and lovely!! Such delicious Jamaican food and loved the atmosphere. We got the Jamaican Patties and they were super flakey and flavourful. The curry goat melted in your mouth. Highly recommend!

delicious all of the dishes are flavorful, especially the stewed ox tail; and the dishes came with coconut rice, (boiled or fried, i m not sure) veggies, healthy and tasty. for me, the jerk chicken wings and pork were a little too salty. The portions were big, quite a big deal

This is a place like no other in kamloops, you never need salt pepper or katsup for your food. Ive been multiple times and never been disappointed. Was really glad to find a local Jamaican spot in Kamloops. The food is very good and really fills the gap when I m craving home cooked meals. I ve only visited the actual restaurant once but my experience was very good. The cashier/hostess was very friendly and offered a warm welcome!

I ve been a few times now and every time I come they don t disappoint! The food is so extraordinary and wonderful most food are spicy, but they all have different levels. My friends usually get the jerk burger and fries. I m celiac as well and they have gf food for my needs, which is great Dietary restrictions: I m gluten free with celiac

This place is absolutely fantastic. The atmosphere is comfortable and upbeat. The staff are friendly and efficient and OMG the food!!! Seriously, its a must try for everyone! I just tried their Island French Toast for breakfast, and I have never had better! Their Jerk chicken is so flavourful and their Jamaican patties......well, we buy more to go so we can enjoy it at home later. If you enjoy authentic foods, I highly recommend this place!

One of the best restaurants in Kamloops! Superb Jamaican food, some with familiar Canadian twists. The Jerk Pork, chicken, oxtail, split pea soup, are all superb. I love their smoked jerked wings, and all the entrees come with Johnny cakes, similar to bannock. So good! Moreover, they have some of the best breakfast in town, try the Jamaican skillet for a nice hearty and satisfying spicy breakfast (heavy spice not burn your mouth though). I am grateful that they have been a staple in Ka.loops for years now, and hope they stay for the long haul. PS, make sure you get a ting to refresh yourself with your meal, its a lovely Jamaican grapefruit drink, the pink ting is my favorite!

Just ordered this place on skip been wanting to try them out for awhile now and this order did not disappoint. Got some wings the lunch special and a wrap it was all perfect temp hot stuff hot and cold stuff cold. The flavour on everything was just amazing, definitely recommend trying this place.

This is some of the tastiest, well prepared food Ive ever had. Never had Jamaican food before, and thanks to Jamaican Kitchen I now want to try every dish I possibly can. Perfectly cooked chicken breast in my Jerk Chicken lunch, with coconut rice and peas. The vegetable ensemble could convince the pickiest of eaters to love vegetables. Why the hell are you still reading this and not going to Jamaican Kitchen to eat their amazing food for yourself?! Go on! Get out there!

What a treasure we found in JK!! Great and friendly efficient staff in a beautiful garden like patio!! The special flower boxes were so nice along with the background music made us feel like we were away on holidays! The food was awesome, Jamaican Sunrise and omelet!! I would have loved to give them 5 stars after all the wonderful things Ive heard about this restaurant, however.... We went for breakfast on a weekend. Our meals came out at different times, and, my meal was cold when it arrived. Also, the Johnny cakes that are included with my meal didnt come out with my meal. I waited for the server so I could let her know that my meal wasnt hot, unfortunately, we didnt see anyone again until some time later when my hubbys meal was served along with my johhny cakes, which thank goodness WERE awesome and piping hot btw! I didnt bother saying anything cause I was so hungry at that point so I ate the food anyways. The food tasted good, but would have tasted even better if it had been hot. We will try again though

I was missing Carribean food back home and was greatly disappointed. The beef patty filling was dry. The curry goat dishs rice was salty and undercooked, curry was not rich in flavour. Ate anyway though because I was starving. Great service though

Coffee was smooth and rich, Jamaican Sunshine eggs Benny had tons of pork, the jerk spice was a complement to the Hollandaise, and I dont ever want an English muffin for eggs Benny ever again - Johnny cakes are definitely the way to go. Server was friendly and attentive. Music and decor set a great vibe without overpowering. Cant wait to come back.

Had the Jamaican skillet for breakfast today and my bro had the sunshine Benny, both were superb. Best skillet I ve ever had, spicy and flavourful and the Johnny cakes are dang delicious. I also grabbed some of their soup to go and some of the Jamaican jerk sauce. 10 out of 10 would recommend. I live really close by so I ll be back every weekend maybe even more :p thanks again Jamaican kitchen. You guys rock!

Was told a 15 min pick up time. Arrived in 20 and waited an additional 20 mins. Staff aren t very friendly, they didn t take time to say hey, thank you or apologize for the extra long wait. Instead my thanks have a great day is met with a blank stare. Food is better than average but it was cold which makes me question the long wait. Not a bad spot but definitely not a regular stop and I recommend eating in if you do choose to eat here

Came here for my first Jamaican food experience and wasnt disappointed. Had the chicken roti which was perfectly spiced, and was a large portion size. Service was fast and friendly and prices were decent. The only complaint I have is that there were a lot of flies that I had to keep swatting out of the way. Very unfriendly and poor service, music too loud, food was just okay and cold. One of the owners greeted and served us. She was very sour and curt. She refused to turn the music down even though we were almost yelling to talk and the only ones outside. Most unpleasant experience. I would never go back!

Fantastic jerked meat of choice, nice family owned and run business which, of course, is my preferred business to support, and the service and food is off the chart awesome! This is our favourite restaurant. We live out in Pritchard, but our trips to Kamloops are always so worth it when we visit the Jamaican Kitchen for lunch! The food is great value for money, consistently delicious, full of flavor, cooked to perfection and the portion sizes are great! The service is always fast, fantastic and friendly. My first time at Jamaican Kitchen thanks to my daughter s recommendation. I had lunch, chicken curry & vegetable soup and jerk chicken & bacon wrap! Best lunch or meal I ve had in a long time! Soup was fantastic, spicy, lots of veggies & the most tender chicken. The wrap was equally delicious, moist chicken, bacon & the addition of avocado was fantastic. Incredible meal & incredible chefs!

Jamaican Kitchen has become our favourite restaurant in Kamloops. The food is amazing, always fresh and consistently good and the servers are so friendly and kind! The Jamaican sunshine eggs Benny is a great breakfast choice you can t get anywhere else.

Would not feed my dog this slop! I have eaten a lot of Jamaican food and been to Jamaica quite a few times, this food is garbage, the jerk spice is completely embarrassing. A lot of flies in the dining room.... just gross.

Came here for breakfast and it was delicious. Would love to try the lunch/dinners sometime. Very hard to find great Jamaican in BC, and this is actually the first Jamaican food Ive had in BC that Ive really enjoyed (normally in Canada Ive only had great Jamaican in Ontario).

In Kamloops for a work trip, I ate here for breakfast, lunch and dinner. When I couldnt do lunch I took patties to go. Everything is delicious, the staff are super friendly.

Absolutely delicious food. Ive been there 5 times in the last 2 months and cant get enough. I raise goats and buy their wet marinade to season it. Ive never seen my husband enjoy my cooking so much. Ive also never had anything but top notch service.

The food and service is great. The only reason I gave 4 star is when I eat one day the veggies are not that fresh.

Had the jerk chicken and it was spicy, flavourful and juicy for white meat. The rice was good and the veggies were just ok. I am glad they had the veggies on the side just so it made the meal a bit healthier. My wife got the pork and that had a really hearty flavour. It was really complex in terms of flavour. The fries were fresh and tasted really good too. Kinda like New York fries style with the skin still on. The only thing is that the food took a while to come but it was worth the wait.

Great food and run by amazing local folks. Great breakfast and a solid cup of coffee.

Had the Jamaican skillet for breakfast and it was delicious. Very courteous staff , friendly chef. Two thumbs up. I will definitely be back soon. I will also tell others of the great experience.

It took a little longer than expected but it was worth it! Very quaint little place. The staff was nice and food was amazing.
