Ordered for pick up. We called in to order one of their lunch special for $14.95 but apparently wasn’t an option anymore. The server recommended combo for two which we didn’t know was actually the dinner for two. Ended up paying $60 before tips for a mediocre meal. We were really looking forward to trying this restaurant but were unfortunately disappointed.
Had the mushroom chicken chow mein skinny noodles, barbecue pork fried rice, and almond chicken, absolutely delicious, the new owners nailed it!
this was a delivery. For an office luncheon, the vegetables in the beef chop suey had a metalic taste, the sweet and sour boneless port had a sharp bone in one of the peices, which is very off putting for me. I cant say for sure but I think this order was made from food prepared the night before. Never again.
Delivery took almost an hour and a half. I think management must have changed because the food was no where as good as before. We are usually not picky about taste but the S&S pork was way over cooked, chow mein was bland, and the egg foo Yong barely had any egg.
Placed two combo orders today, as they have a good deal on Tuesday, buy 1 combo get the second one for 5$. I double checked that this offer was still valid and the person taking the order confirmed. I ended up being charged the full amount and in one of my combos, I only received a 3 quantity when I ordered a 4 (and was charged for 4 items). I called to ask why I was charged this way and the person who took the order said, she spoke with her manage and because her manager was the only one cooking, we got charged the whole price, at that point, there was no way I was going to call back and tell them they are missing a full item… seemed pretty pointless. I will never go back - seems fraudulent to me.
Caution to vegetarians out there!! When you order the vegetarian chop suey it is cooked in oyster sauce so it is vegetable chop suey NOT vegetarian!! If it had said vegetable then I would have asked no oyster sauce please. When I called the lady said I need to ask for no oyster sauce. I told her when it says vegetarian it is under assumption that it contains NO animals!! My bad I guess.
In my humble opinion Bamboo Inn is the best Chinese food on the Shore. It may not be fancy inside, but you get great tasting food at a really reasonable price. It's not greasy and low on MSG. Tonight we had Sweet n Sour pork, chicken Chow Mein, Beef Chopped Suey and Ginger Beef for just under $60. Totally recommend the Bamboo Inn!
Amazing Chinese food in Kamloops. Everything is fresh and cooked perfectly. I’ve tried many Chinese restaurants in the city but Bamboo Inn is by far my favourite. Perfectly fried noodles, prawns, and sweet n sour chicken. My absolute favourite menu item is their soups. So fresh and delicious. They are also open to small changes to the soups. I asked to combine the barbecue pork and noodle soup with wontons, and make it spicy, the staff delivered an absolutely delicious dish, only pictures do it justice. Overall I highly recommend Bamboo Inn. I would call it a casual environment inside the restaurant, but with very welcoming staff, quick service and delicious food.

52 Years of service to the town of Kamloops. I remember them from when I was a child. Nobody lasts 52 years without getting something right. You learn a lot about anything you do for such a long time. I have been enjoying the specials often twice a week for a couple years. The Owners and staff usually recognize me on sight. They always have a smile for me and remember my name. Every time I get great food at a fair price. (cant say that about much of anything these days.) I am very pleased with the demeanor of the owners and staff at Bamboo Inn and will continue to visit them and enjoy their great cooking. Thank you very much Bamboo Inn! A Kamloops staple for home made Asian food!!
Terrible food. Egg roll super greasy and mostly batter. The dry pork had bones in it! The rice - mostly flavourless but what flavour there was, tasted OLD. And they couldnt even be bothered to remove the vein in the prawns. Even the won ton soup was horrible. I bit into something that was hard inside the wonton. I cant say one good thing unfortunately.
I ordered a combination 2 with beef chop suey and curry chicken and they are both delicious and big portions , totally what I was craving and not disappointed at all. Will be ordering again Got the dinner for 3 and it has huge portions! The chowmein is so flavorful and cooked perfectly ! My boyfriend wants to order again its so good! Ive also added beef curry and rice to my favourrites. And the war won ton soup is my goto. I just love this place
Please go back to the thick chow mein noodles! We are willing to pay more! It used to be the best in town, nows it kind of generic/shopping mall.
Bland and boring. No seasoning and the chow mein was a thicker spaghetti style noodle, which wasn t very pleasant. Definitely a disappointment for out first and only visit here.
Good food with good portions, 10 out of 10 people served loved it.

Just ordered food . Been ordering from bamboo for 15 years. Awful tonight. Almond chicken so chewy you cant eat it. Ginger beef same thing. Quality of food just poor. Need to say after spending 90.00 tonight. I think my last time. To bad they were good before.
horrible experience, egg foo young was raw and gross .it just fell apart. there was no way I was going to eat raw eggs..I have ordered it before and it had always been great so I dont know what they were thinking when they threw it in a container and thinking it was sellable or consumable,almond chicken was more like chicken leather and sweet and sour pork had no sauce and was totally dried out..come on Bamboo Inn ordering out has gotten very expensive so when we decided to choose to spend our money on your establishment we also expect it to be edible ,thanks for nothing

Had to order $30 worth of food to get delivery & barely enough food to feed one person. I asked for the prawns to be put in a different container so they dont get mushy & they were not in a different container. Food tastes completely different, very hard & overcooked. Wont be ordering from there again.

Ordered 2 combo food took and hour rice was cold and hard almond chicken way over cooked and cold sweet n spur pork was dry and cold. I would suggest never ordering from these guys never again and I will be fb reviweing this food. I couldnt even eat it. 45.00 wasted.

Just received our order 2.5 hours late. Recognize that there is staffing shortage etc but then the food should be great. Not so, chicken overcooked, sweet and sour was cold and egg fo yung just didn t cut it. Disappointed

Ordered the combo A tonight which is $30 as written on online menu, it s also Monday which means the 5 dollar special for chicken fried rice. Combo A doesn t come with chicken fried rice so I ordered some. When I went to pick it up I was surprised to be charged $47.50 when it should ve been 30 for combo and 5 for fried rice. I tried to explain this repeatedly with no success just standing with employee in an endless circular discussion of why did you charge me 9 dollars extra to where he would respond Thats combo a I would say combo a is 30 dollars , fried rice is 5 dollars equals 35 but apparently this wasn t the case? He also failed to explain why it cost an extra 9 dollars. I eventually gave up and paid, will not be ordering from here again.

Lady answering the phone was really rude and short with me. Felt like me placing my order was a real inconvenience for her.. I stopped ordering from here, gave it another chance, wont make the same mistake.. The food was cold, the chicken is not real? Everything was pretty tasteless. I dont know how this place states stays open.

Went there tonight to pick up what my wife ordered. She was told a hour. When I got there a hour later it still wasnt ready. Now they have some new people working there. I gave my name and waited. A half hour later I was asked my name again. I told him my name and he asked what number it was under. As I know my wife she would of just gave them my name. I left and didnt get my food. Went home and asked wife if she gave name or number. She said name always name. I did phone and the same guy answered the phone. I wasnt nice about and told him now that I was home I wasnt coming back and that they need to hire people who understand when people are talking. Ill never order from here again
I ordered delivery, a combo for two and specified that need gluten-free twice. Delivery time was great, but the only item that I received which was relatively gluten-free, was the beef chop Suey. The beef chop Suey was nothing to write home about. Unfortunately I wont be a repeat costumer.
I moved here in 1972 ,have tried many oriental restaurants ,The Bamboo in is absolutely great,food is fresh and hot , always lots of food,they dont give you tiny spring rolls that cut your gums,they make true egg rolls !! The food is #1
We called at 6pm to order our dine in to be ready on the table when we arrived and when we got there at 6:30pm she told us another 20-30 minutes saying theyve been busy but they only had two other tables with customers that had already been served....the washrooms were absolutely disgusting I cant imagine how dirty the kitchen must be if their bathroom stall doors are covered in feces. Will be reporting this Restaurant to public health first thing tomorrow morning. The owner was also very rude.
I was hopeful for this place as we just moved to the Northshore and wanted to try a place close to us. The man who answered the phone simply answered with hello? And then proceeded to be short and unresponsive to my questions. He didnt ask for my name or number or even say goodbye when I hung up. This was very off-putting. We ordered the Wor Wonton soup which was fairly cheap ($10.90 for 10 wontons)a had lots of different ingredients (shrimp, mushrooms, celery, carrots, bokchoy, lettuce, baby corn, pork). The broth was sort of plain and the wontons were falling apart and overcooked with a strange, off flavour. To top it off, after eating half my bowl I found a little caterpillar floating in my broth. I am sad that this was my first experience as I am unlikely to return now.
Ive ordered a few times on their Tuesday special deals. They are usually average and nothing special. Although tonight you can tell the food was reheated leftovers. The sweet n sour pork was tougher than beef jerky. I called her to let her know. She just denied it and hung up on me. I definitely wont be going back. Poor quality and no service.
We ordered from them about 1 month ago the food was and old looking after 2 or 3 bites it thrown away. Tonight I thought we would give them another chance. Took almost 2 hours to be delivered and again the food was cold. The egg rolls were so greasy the delivery bag was soaked with the grease. I have been a long time customer but I wont waste my money there again

Pay at the table on while you order, very off feeling. The food over price for what it was. Owner was the server and her manners was very bad. My mistake I took a taxi there if I had driven I would of left right a way. A local hang out very noisy place with drunks and with abusing word. Totally a waste of time first time there and my last time, I do not like being insulted by other more so if someone had move onto Canada and not a total landed. Completely was of money and time, more so the place was not very clean

The reason for the low score is although the food that wasnt deep fried was okay, any thing that met the deep fryer was extremely heavy with grease. Saturated. The delivery person was impatient. He had to wait a few more seconds...... while I slowly entered my PIN ..... even gave him a $6.00 tip. Very sorry that I spent money there. Will not happen again.

Best Chinese food in town
Food was good but beware not vegan friendly. Ma Pao tofo had pork in it. Does not state that on the menu. Paid 15% gratuity and deliver charge. Then opened it up with tiny pieces of deep fried pork mixed in. My sister could not eat anything as this was for her. Called and they were not very good at all, not impressed by there customer service...basically was too bad would have to pay for new dish and delivery charge. My sister had bought this for my birthday dinner. But instead I felt terrible that she had to make her own food. I will not be ordering from there again and I am sure my sister neither.

Best Chinese food in town!
For $10 I got more food than I could eat! And their chicken chow mein has more chicken in it than a few other Chinese restaurants Ive tried in the city. They accommodated a last minute take out order and even gave us a free order of ribs.
Waited over an hour after ordering and no food. Called to find out where food was and was told they were busy and it would be 20 more minutes. they offered a break on food cost but after 5 minutes more I phoned and cancelled. Will never order from them ever.
