Called restaurant earlier to confirm birthday specials. When we arrived the hostess with unnecessary negative attitude said there were no specials and had to get the manager so they could both roll their eyes at us from afar and then tell us if we really wanted they would give us a piece of cake (not what the restaurant said earlier on the phone). While we were trying to decide if we should stay at this noisy overcrowded place full of intoxicated Chad Bros and their Costco wives the hostess and manger hovered by the door to keep checking if we had left yet and everytime she realized we were still outside she rolled her eyes in disgust. Im pretty sure my money is the same as the other actors that were there to enjoy the establishment and we didnt appreciate the bias from the employees. After reading other reviews of the same nature and that the food is actually quite poor compared to their pricing Im glad we decided to go somewhere else. It really pays to make an informed decision before making plans to go here.

Came in last saturday and was very impressed with all of the food, bartenders and waitstaff especially Cassidy. Her knowledge of the menu was very clear and she was able to answer every question we had. She had excellent recommendations and would even stop by to fill our water glasses when she was clearly very busy with the restaurant being full. Best spot in Kamloops for exceptional service and food!

Excellent food. Great space. Lots of staff. Decent prices and very varied menu. No complaints we will go again, Edit we went again, once again very good service we had reservations for 6:15pm and were done by 7pm. We had drinks and appetizers, plus out dinner all done. AAAAmazing. Not a fan of the loud music but the food and service were awesome. A few of us had shrimp tacos which were the best I have ever had so much flavor. A few also had the Tuna Bowl and it was incredible too, along with the onion rings and salad.

Foot ball season is on and they have many screens to enjoy the games. We (a group of 20 people) recently dined at the Local Public Eatery and had a fantastic experience overall. The service was impressively fast, and our server, Tahni, was attentive and friendly, making sure we had everything we needed. The food was great. However, the only drawback was the music. It was quite fast-paced and, while it may have added to the energetic atmosphere, it didn t do much for digestion. Despite this minor issue, it is definitely worth a visit for its top-notch service and delicious food.

Food is very good and it was prepared timely. Our server was Tahni and she was pretty patient with our big group. She did pretty well with managing the bills and everything. The only reason I gave 4 starts for Atmosphere was the loud music which is obviously a personal preference.

South facing patio for the summer and large open space inside. Food is not your average pub food, its fancy. Pinche beef Tacos for lunch are the perfect size. Fish tacos if youre hungry. Kid-friendliness: Colouring and Kids menu. Burger is plain plain plain! Ask for condiments.

The Long Weekend Local Burger special is great! Service is always top notch.

NOISY!!!! The food was great, I had ramen and it was absolutely tasty! The service was amazingly fast. But boy oh boy the noise level was crazy. But the worst noise was coming from their kitchen. There is a half wall with an open kitchen behind it and the crashing and slamming and dropping metal things was unacceptable. Several times there were crashes that made us all jump. If thats the way they work back there they need to put a whole wall up. Fix it people or we are not coming back.

Ordered delivery and specially asked for cutlery as I m staying at a hotel. They not only didn t send cutlery but no tissues either. Then on top of that the tartar sauce was horrible.

Ive been meaning to go for awhile, took my family to eat, I had the chicken sandwich, it was so good, chicken was fried perfectly veggies tasted really fresh and crisp, the BBQ mustard was a perfect compliment to the pickles My sister had the spicy quesadilla she said it was the best quesadilla shes ever had. My moms curry bowl was so so good ( she ate it all, which is kind of a big deal for her Definitely recommend this place, the kitchen staff deserves some real kudos, you can tell that they really care about the quality of the food

The food was so good! I found it well portioned for a meal, but others may find it a bit light if they are after a big meal. Pineapple mimosas were a fantastic recommendation from our server. I will definitely be back!

Excellent food and the service from Ryelee was excellent, but every other person working were so great also. I just didnt know there names. If you are in the area, make sure to make this place a stop.

The food was okay. There were pieces of bones in the chicken for the peanut noodle Salad. For the Ceasar salad, it wouldve been nice if the lettuce was cut into smaller pieces. The environment is nice. They had the patio open. But we moved in as it was starting to rain. The booth was comfy inside.

Watching the Stanley Cup game here was the right choice. They covered all the commercials with music and hustled the food and drink out.

Nice enough restaurant. Friendly staff but the noise was loud enough it was difficult to have a conversation. Avoid the steak my son and I both ordered it and they were some of the toughest steaks I have had in a long time. It is good they slice them thin or it would have been a difficult chew.

Absolutely amazing Gluten Freee food and choices. My son is celiac and traveling ad a family is always a struggle, but this place knocked it out of the park. Dedicated fryers, loads of choices, and their sauces were to die for on every item we ordered. They were super kind and helpful even with us coming with 3 kids, and services was wonderful. Highly recommend if your stopping in kamloops!

I am from out of town, but I have frequented this establishment a few times now and each time I go there the service is FANTASTIC! The servers are all so friendly, upbeat and great at reading the table. As a fellow industry worker, it takes a lot for me to be impressed, but this staff nails it, each time! Each meal I have had has definitely not disappointed in the slightest. I have tried multiple dishes and each time they are hot, fresh and flavourful. The atmosphere is perfect for when you want to just sit down and enjoy a meal either alone or with some friends, family, coworkers etc. Its a laid back establishment with an upscale vibe. Homey in a sense of everyone can feel like they belong there. However, all this is great and all, but a great team is nothing without AMAZING leadership and I have just had to have my first encounter with their leadership team. Quick overview of why. I was, by compete accident, over charged for my meal and personally not paying attention. It wasnt until after tapping my card and walking out the door, did I realize the mistake. No big deal, asked my server to correct the error and she happily got a shift lead to refund my purchase and then I just paid again. I was told that in 3 to 4 business days I should see the money. Unfortunately a week later and I had not seen it. I stopped in the restaurant and spoke with a different shift lead who said that unfortunately they werent able to help me, but gave me the AGM Stacys info and told me that she will contact me to sort it out. At first it was slightly difficult to arrange mine and Stacys stars to talk, however, after we finally connected, Stacy went ABOVE AND BEYOND to make things right for me. Not only did she figure out a way to quickly return my funds, being out of town and all, but made sure to provide me with an amazing gesture of good faith afterwards for the hassle of the situation. I cannot say enough good about this establishment and its team. Thank you Stacy, please extend my compliments to your team as well!

Fantastic place to eat & have a drink. My wife is gluten free (coeliac) and they were amazing. Went through what she could and couldn t have and explained had a gluten free fryer. I was back and forth between fries or onion rings and the waitress suggested just half and halving which was the perfect amount of food They went above and beyond constantly and will happily go back! Our current all around favourite restaurant in Kamloops. Always very fast when we get takeout, and quality food. Lots of space, so if you go during a busy, noisy time there is a quieter section on the side.

Drove up from the coast yesterday and 12 of us showed up at The Local with about 20 minutes notice and the staff were fantastic. Every single person we spoke to was just beyond awesome. Everyone was very happy with the food and drinks. I LOVED the Korean BBQ Pork Bowl!!

Amazing happy hour

Did they change their steak portion? I specifically go to Public Eatery for their steak and was really disappointed this past Saturday after craving it since the last time. I normally get a perfect portion and when I recently went there it was MUCH smaller and I was really disappointed but didn t want to say anything and make the server feel bad. I literally got 6 tiny pieces and even my friend mentioned how small it was and I let her know it wasn t usually like that. I even brought her there because of how much I enjoyed the food - I had been also raving about the steak The first two pictures are the times before last where I really enjoyed it and the last photo is this past Saturday. Really disappointed don t know if I ll be returning for their steak anytime soon.

First time here and we wanted to try something different other then Earls or Browns. However it was disappointing. Our party of 6 went on a Thursday afternoon/ evening. The hostess was nice and helped us to our seats. Then the service went down hill after that. We ordered drinks and water. Nothing came. Then I asked about 20 mins in when we ordered our main and appetizers. What happend to our drinks? Then another 10 mins after that double the amount of our drinks came. My guess is they were just sitting at the bar and it was forgotten. Then what felt like another delay our main showed up before our appetizers. We decided to ignore and assume they forgot. I also asked for extra ketchup before I never saw our server again. After the meal was finished. The appetizers came out cold as well as the ketchup for my empty dinner plate. I did express my concerns to the server. The atmosphere was nice...

Food and service are mediocre but the portion is small for the price. I am not a big eater. I was simply surprised by the medium sized bowl and shallow food in it. I dont know. It seems like everything goes too expensive these days. But it will choke you one day if you rip off. I am not sure if I will go back. As I read some of reviews here, quite many people think that way, which means the owner should have considered it.

This was our second time at a local public eatery. The first time in Gastown/Vancouver. The second time here in Kamloops. We mainly came to see the Edmonton game and get something to eat. Both were great :D the food (veggie burger and truffle burger with veggie patty) was very tasty! Even the cheese pierogi! :) the staff was very nice. *Update* Ive been back a few more times and this place is impressing me more and more. Great service, food is actually top notch and the atmosphere is, Id say, the best out of that style of restaurant. Check out their happy hour which is one of the best in town. I had the fried chicken and it was so crunchy, juicy and well flavored with a hot honey style sauce. Food was good all around. Great vibe, great service. I really like how they have actual local craft beer and cider offerings. The garage doors and great patio location are also going to be a lot of fun. Well be back for sure.

The drinks and atmosphere are excellent, especially for Kamloops! The food is pretty good but could always just use a little extra love, still pretty good however.

Unfortunately it felt like our waitress was having a bad day and we didnt experience great service during our visit. That being said, the burgers were good if you like a lot of sauce and Im sure this would be a nice place for drinks with friends in the evening - maybe just pick somewhere else for lunch.

I was there Wednesday night and my friend and she and I both had the Korean BBQ rice bowl. It was excellent, but the portion was very small (and we are both senior ladies and found the portion small). Service is outstanding, every time I have been there. I will dine there again, but have a light snack before I go.

If I could give L.P Eatery 10 stars I definitely would! They under promised and over delivered on our large group reservation (35) last night (which was Friday night). They separated the kids (baseball team of 15 yr olds) and the adults and everyone had an incredible experience. Initially we had agreed for the parents to be all split up as space became available but when we got there, they had a large table set up for all of us too! Both servers were efficient and attentive. Our drinks and food were served quickly and the food was SO good. Great customer service is sometimes hard to find these days so I make a point to comment/review when it s exceptional! This place is great. It was hopping when we were there at 7:30. Everyone was busy and still provided kind and prompt service. We aren t from here but baseball will bring us back. The pictures of the food do not reflect what you receive. The portions are so small it takes shrinkflation to a whole new level. We tipped 20% on our bill then paid one takeout separately to take home and the waitress actually asked for a tip for the to go bag. When we said no we already tipped you for our service she gave us attitude. We were so pissed off with her if we could have got our tip back we would have. Do yourself a favor plenty of good places for a meal and drink where you get good portions and no attitude.

Three of us went for dinner at the Local last night. The good - Its a really nice place and our waitress was fantastic. The bad - Two of us order the Blackened Chicken Curry Bowl. If you combined the chicken from the two mains it wouldnt have equaled one chicken breast . We understand food prices are up but that was ridiculous. They could have taken some of the profits from the $8.25 bottles of Corona and put it in the chicken fund.

I love the food here. Delicious, inspired, consistent. The only downfall is that because the restaurant is really open I find it gets unbelievably loud. But that s just a personal preference and I still come here often and would recommend it!

Was a little loud for me, but the amazing food and service made up for it. The spicy food was actually spicy and flavorful, and not toned down for tourists. The dance club music was the only part I would have removed.

Been here many times for family lunches and dinner over the last year. Always top notch service, every single time. We have had the pleasure of being served by Sophie numerous times and she makes our visit a grand experience and always remembers us. The food is always consistent and delicious, the pints of beer are crisp and fresh. Bonus points for the crayons for the kids. Keep it up, this place raises the bar for dining out.

Tried the restaurant for the second time this week. First visit was way too noisy and we could not have a normal conversation. Food was average but very expensive and tiny portions. But its been 6 months so .today we tried it again. I had the LPE greens salad the world s tiniest entree salad (??) for $17 .which had no quinoa, no grapes and no smoked cheddar as described . I searched hard for them! I had tofu added to it (an extra charge understandably) which were crispy, highly seasoned and yummy and the dressing was excellent. Parmesan cheese was all over it which I m not a fan of and was not mentioned in the menu. 2 cherry tomatoes cut in half, a little lettuce, a few radish slices and cabbage. So small! 6 average sized mouthfuls and it was gone. No bread or anything served with it. I try to eat a light salad for lunch each day but this was just silly. Only a veggie burger or the above mentioned salad offered for vegetarians not very creative. I hate having to ask for menu items to be altered to be vegetarian. Would be nice to have two or three other options on the menu even if they are just a really great vegetarian sandwich or wrap, maybe a roasted vegetable salad with some nuts and seeds and greens, maybe a vegetarian flatbread or? Lots of vegetarians here in town and coming through! Staff both times very welcoming and friendly. Food came out of the kitchen quickly. Waitresses are fantastic :) Portions are too small for the prices and we are not big eaters. Came home and had a sandwich. Restaurant is not conducive to conversation unless you are really speaking loudly. If you have any type of hearing issues or want some conversation privacy .good luck. Wont be back. Had the Local double pattie burger, was disappointed with the cheap shortcut usage of processed cheese slices for a $21 burger, kinda lame. Fries amount could be quite a bit larger. Not bad taste for the meal overall though, house burger sauce was good. Meal wasnt totally filling though, kinda sad. Maybe with an included small 3rd side for the price?? The servers were nice and polite, and very quick! Barely any wait time. Atmosphere was decent but a bit louder - typical for this type of resteraunt. Dietary restrictions: Have a decent amount of gluten free options available which is quite nice!

I want to give a special mention to our server Maddy today. I am celiac and she wanted to make sure the meal I ordered was gluten free. Turns out it wasn t, the beer batter was still being used and beer is not gluten free. She saved me from a lot of pain and discomfort. Thanks again Maddy. And thank you to the cooks for making my meal truly gluten free. Will definitely recommend this restaurant to any celiac or gluten free person.

The food was good. A bit salty. Ive had better poke bowls, but it was decent. The staff were very friendly, and the lunch atmosphere was nice. I would go back to try something else.

Nice location! Parking can be a tricky one, but there are lots of spaces if you dont mind a bit of a walk. Very limited menu,but everything is good . Worth checking out for sure.

We had our company Christmas Party at the Kamloops location. Wow! So impressed! The food was plentiful and seemed to be endless! There was so much variety too. Sushi, tuna, charcuterie, caesar salad boats, sliders, skewers, nachos and more. Thank you Nathan, Brandon, kitchen staff and servers for everything. Special shout out to Kat our server. Thank you for taking such good care of us and your amazing service!! Would highly recommend!

Ordered BBQ rice bowl, tuna poke bowl, and two deluxe burgers for the family via door dash. The BBQ bowl had a 6 long slightly curly black hair half buried under the pork but visible as soon as the lid was lifted. Gross. The tuna poke bowl and burgers were great otherwise.
