The place is decent and the staff really make it work. The owners should be grateful for their staff.

Had lunch here and it was delicious. However the portions are definitely on the smaller side and the service seemed cold and distant. Good happy hour deals though!

Delicious food, great service, very welcoming atmosphere. A bit pricey but you get what you pay for. Vegetarian options: I believe so but Im not vegetarian I seem to remember there being plenty of salads though. Parking: Depending on the time paid meter parking on-street limited spaces, however. Parking after 6 is free but finding a spot can again be a challenge. There are paid parking garages nearby though. Kid-friendliness: Kids welcome believe children need to be accompanied by an adult but dont hold me to it. I dont think many kids would just be heading downtown to meet their other friends for dinner though;) Wheelchair accessibility: Yes

Been here a number of times and will continue coming back. Most recently I had the brisket & Mac & cheese which wasn t that great but this is the first time I haven t been blown away by the food. Everything else I ve tried has been exceptional, especially the sablefish.

Avoid this place. I ate here tonight and ordered a strawberry basil lemonade (pointed to it on the menu non alcoholic drink $7), got my drink (didnt taste like alcohol), then at the end of dinner the server Makayla brought the bill, realized she didnt add our drinks to the bill, then came back with the new one. I realized after paying that my drink was $14 which seemed high for a non alcoholic drink. I asked her about this and if the drink was alcoholic she said yes. I told her I didnt order an alcoholic one and she told me she *always* asks if they want a cocktail (spoiler alert: she did not ask me this - I also confirmed that she did not by asking my friend who was eating with me). I am very obviously pregnant and would also have said NO if she asked me if I wanted the cocktail or the alcoholic version (wasnt aware there even was an alcoholic version because I pointed to the $7 non alcoholic one on the menu). She was very indifferent about her mistake and telling me it was my mistake was very infuriating. I spoke to the manager Jenna afterwards and I asked her if she had spoken to the server about my concern and she said she had mentioned the miscommunication. Said sorry quickly and insincerely and said I can leave gift vouchers. I dont want gift vouchers I was more upset about the fact that the server made a mistake then proceeded to gas light me about it. If that is the attitude of the staff I cant imagine the owners care much about their patrons either. Ive been here many times and I will never return to this place after this incident, handled SO poorly and with so much attitude.

We had a meal at Mitz recently and were quite disappointed. We have always enjoyed our meals there in the past but our last meal was not the same. I ordered the sablefish which was served with mushy potato type things and over steamed spinach. The fish itself was good. My husband had a Mitz burger but it was quite skimpy and no where the quality of the past burgers. The drinks were quite expensive as well. We won t be going back. Prices were high for what we got. Stopped by on our Canada trip. Food was great! I really liked the Caesars salad with the fried capers (I thought I didn t like capers until I tried them on this salad! ). The maple sriracha glazed chicken sandwich was also great! Service was great too, very friendly! Would totally recommend!!

Amazing food and equally amazing service. Had the Brisket beef dip and Portobello pear salad with carrot cake for dessert. So delicious and the prices were reasonable.

I ordered the short rib, and now that I am on a keto diet. I needed to change a few things on the order. If I could give 1000% for the service I would - KIARA WAS EXEPTIONAL- very kind and very accommodating. She made my meal a lovely experience. I made sure that items were exchanged in my dinner promptly and quickly. All the food was absolutely exceptional, including my delicious martini! Everything was exceptional. Don t want to knock the atmosphere so I ll say it this way- the food outdid the decor. With All that said when I come through town again, this is my go to place

We read the reviews and stopped on the way through. Home made food! We had the Mittz burger, pulled pork and Goat and beet salad. Simply outstanding!!

Nice restaurant with interesting selections on the menu. We had the BBQ beef brisket and the Maple Sriracha Glazed Chicken Sandwich, both of which were delicious.

This place was amazing. Our waitress Makayla was incredible. Our group, myself and my two daughters and my 3.5 month old granddaughter went her for lunch for mothers day. Makayla made room for us to have the stroller at our table. She was very friendly and checked on us often. Even offered to hold the baby so we could all eat. Thank you Makayla for making our first girls outing with my granddaughter so enjoyable. We will definitely be back. Oh and the food was delicious. Homemade burger patties. One of the best burger I have had in a while.

I had Grilled veggi and Chicken Wings. I think the price is worth it because there is a lot of volume. The vegetables were also very delicious. Im grateful because I dont have enough vegetables when Im traveling. I love Chicken Wings and eat them here and there, but these were crispy yet plump and juicy on the inside and delicious. I was a little concerned about the way the store staff handled things and how they responded a little bluntly, but it wasnt that they were bad people. I didnt eat much because I was full, but its a restaurant Id like to visit again when Im hungry.

I was dining at the restaurant yesterday and was appalled by an incident I witnessed. The owner, or possibly the manager, approached a table with two women, a baby, and a toddler, and began yelling at them without any apparent provocation. From my observation, the group was behaving quietly and politely. Having spent many years in the service industry, I understand dealing with challenging situations or annoying tables, but there is no excuse for such behaviour. It s unclear whether the person in charge was having a bad day or has underlying anger issues, but it is evident that he lacks professionalism. The server, clearly embarrassed, would not let the women pay, apologized to the women, who were so shaken that they immediately got up to leave without finishing their meal. They tried to pay despite the distressing experience, and I believe they left some cash before departing. This level of unprofessional conduct is completely unacceptable. I am deeply disappointed and will not be returning to a place where they think it s appropriate to yell at women and young children in that way.

Pricing was very reasonable considering the portion size. Food was excellent. We had the rib eye cooked to perfection and BBQ beef brisket. Delicious. Would highly recommend A + K

Discrimination at it finest... these people have no place in todays society. I HAD BEEN A REGULAR,until I brought a friend for brunch who is a recovering addict. The hostess greeted us by blocking the doorway and asking rudely how she could help us. I said Id like to come in for my usual chicken and waffles. She said they were full even though there were less than 5 tables being patronized and that they no longer served chicken and waffles even though the couple seated directly with within my view were eating exactly that. I offered to return later and she lied again saying theyd be full all day , I said ok tomorrow then to which she rudely responds that they were booked for the foreseeable future. I offered to order take out and she asked us to leave..my friend has a rough appearance as hes in early recovery but its idiots like these people who judge that are the cause of addiction in the first place.

Super friendly staff. Had the creamy tomato parmesan as I wanted a light lunch. Very tasty.

Sunday brunch, waitresses where kinda all over the place, acting really busy when I dont think they where. Cobwebs in the bathrooms.. However, I guess you do get to do what you want when the food is amazingly fantastic.. My sons waffle, he did not like. They cooked the eggs a perfect medium, my husband had a pasta lunch dish, he was laughing the whole time on how good it was.

Mittz burger; blue cheese and mustard complement this burger nicely. The taste of garlic was overpowering in a Cesar salad. Frankly Cesar salad was a disappointment. Overall, Great service and welcoming atmosphere.

Went to Mitz Kitchen on Jan 9th. I had the Smashburger wth fries and both were excellent. The combination of meat in the burger with all the right toppings made it taste amazing. Fries were crispy outside, fluffy inside and cooked just right. My wife had sweet potato crusted haddock with risotto and asparagus. Neither of us had tried risotto before and it was delicious! Our only request was to print the menus on white paper please! We had very little light at our seat - which was great except when trying to read the menu lol. The music playing at the time added to a great atmosphere.

The food is outstanding! The Dausafmge rigatoni may be the best pasta I have ever had. The service was great and I love the atmosphere.

It was ok. We had reservations but did not get a very welcoming staff service. I ordered the roasted beet quinoa and spinach. It was ok, not a lot of quinoa mostly spinach with long stems. My husband had the Mittz burger and indicated he prefers the Steak Sandwich.

A long wait for some simple food. No apologies.

I m coming here for years now, when I m Kamloops on business or pleasure. A great place for lunch and to hang out for an hour when not in a rush. Food is great, especially some of the more non-mainstream menu items. I highly recommend the roasted Brussels sprouts and the Tuna Poke Bowl.

Absolutely love this place. My boyfriend and I drive from Clearwater every weekend or so and this is always our first stop. The food is fantastic, highly recommend the brunch chicken and waffles !

My favourite brunch spot on Sunday!!!

I went to Mittz kitchen with a group for supper. The restaurant was clean and the decor is modern and inviting. The night we went it was very busy. It seemed like there was not quite enough wait staff on hand and too few people working in the kitchen to keep up. Our server was pleasant enough, but it took nearly an hour for our food to arrive. The food was tasty and the portion sizes were generous. I would go back here again, but I might opt for a less busy time.

We were in Kamloops for a 2 night stay. It was important that we went to non chain restaurants. Mittz was our choice for our 2nd night. We needed vegetarian options (mushroom clamari), and I had steak which was delicious. I found the price was worth the eclectic ambiance, good service, and fresh food

Waited 1.5 hours for our food, the people who came in behind us got served before us. 3 of the pasta dishes were cold, the brussell sprouts were burnt and the briskets were over cooked/dry. Not worth $320 as we left still hungry.

Fun, cozy and yummy dinner spot. I had the steak sandwich with peppercorn sauce and it was spicy and great. We spent hours in the booth over the evening and the staff were very accommodating.

I had the Mittz Burger, was well made and well cooked but I was trying something new and it was not my favorite, Im not a big ketchup guy and the sauce was just not for me. The girlfriend loved her shrimp tacos. Service was pretty bad, waited 5 to 10 minutes just for a glass of water. When asking about Togo containers, the server seemed more interested in chatting with coworkers. I also observed one of the cooks come up and order what I believe to be an alcoholic beverage because he thinks [he] is done, as long as no one else comes in. The atmosphere was interesting, but there was nothing wrong with it, really, but not my astechitic, and the menus leave something to be desired. Dietary restrictions: It was nice that the sauce on the tacos was dairy free but still creamy.

Friendly, decent food.

We went for brunch on Sunday morning and right from the start the server showed an attutide that wasnt welcoming. Her short sharp answers and lack of care really showed and had us wondering if we had done something to upset her. We waited over 50 minutes for our food, and when we asked where it was we were just told there are tables ahead of us. No apology or no advanced warning that there was a delay in the kitchen. When our food finally arrived, it was abruptly placed on our table and the server just walked off without asking if we needed anything extra. We had to ask a different server for condiments. The food was good and decent portion sizes. Just a shame the service didnt live up to the same standard. We wont be going back again.

We had a perfect dinner! Our service was friendly and helpful, while laid back. Our dinner was delicious - perfectly cooked, fresh and flavorful (think tender steaks, sweet asparagus and french fries too hot to eat at first!). We were too full to have dessert. We ll be back.

My mom and I went for mothers day brunch at mitz. We were very disappointed. The food took way to long, with not many people in the restaurant. I had the eggs Benny with bacon and avocado. There was one tiny peice of bacon split in half between the two. Barly any hollandaise sauce and the smashed potatoes had no seasoning what so ever. My mom had bacon and eggs with gluten free toast. The bread was as hard as a rock. She got the waitress to replace it, and it took them more then fifteen minutes to replace it. We decided to leave before she brought it over because it took to long, and we had to leave. The waitress was nice, but didnt refill our drinks once, when we got the bill and the option of tip started at 18%. Not a great option for not even mediocre service.

The meal I had, had way too much soya sauce on it. So did not enjoy it.

We gave Mitz a second chance after and underwhelming dinner in the winter, and brunch wasnt any better. I had the Mitz breaky and it was incredibly bland. My partner had the chicken and waffles with the same review. The plates needed a bit of colour to offset the browns of our food, and the kitchen was very slow. It will take something special for us to go back

I ordered the New York peppercorn steak sandwich and it was cooked to perfection. The entire meal was savoury and my server (Emily) was super friendly and professional. She told me it was her second day at the job but it seemed like she worked there for years. Great place and service!

A little too smug for my liking, especially for kamloops- thats why I go out to spend money here and not summit or Kelowna. I want our downtown laced with smiling faces:)

Very tasty food, salads, nice service

I had the priciest item on the menu, which was the ribeye. It was properly cooked and flavourful, but the cut that I had was tough, chewy and gristly. Either my bad luck or the buyers poor choice of supplier. The flash-fried brussel sprouts were amazing, so the problem is not with the cooks. Portions were small (cruise-ship dining room size) so not for the hungry unless you want to order multiple entrees. Service could have been more attentive but all orders for a 20+ person party were accurate. Beverages were very reasonably-priced. The place was quiet for a Saturday night.

Stopped by this restaurant during a roadtrip solely because of the excellent reviews. Service was slow (Over 1 hour wait for food) and they were not busy. Food was not fresh (wilted arugula) and 1 person (of 4) got the wrong meal. Positive notes: very clean restaurant with plenty of booths and the guest who had the poutine loved it.

Mittz is always our go-to stop when we re in town! We ve never had a bad experience there and the food is always phenomenal. Stopped in for lunch yesterday and the Sablefish and Chefs Club were absolutely to die for. Highly recommend!

Very slow service. And small portions. Food has flavor but for the wait and amount it costs not worth it.

We wanted to go somewhere local as we were passing through Kamloops, and so glad we chose here! The atmosphere is very comfortable, the staff were warm and welcoming, and the food was delicious. I had the risotto with a side of the grilled halloumi, and while it was rich, it was full of flavour and satisfying. My husband had the chicken parm and said it was also really good. Would definitely eat here again, and recommend it to others. Parking downtown is also free after 6pm, so that was handy as well.

Everything was really good, service was great, friendly staff, food was mostly pretty good. My brisket was pretty dry which I shouldve expected since this isnt a barbecue specialty type place but lesson learned. Id still go back everyone else enjoyed their food immensely.

Spectacular. We spent the night in Kamloops heading to Vancouver from Jasper and we wanted to try a good restaurant in the area. I dont disappoint. The best burger I have had in Canada (the Mittz burger) with tasty meat, consistent bread and perfect fries. My partner tried the fried chicken burger and said it was one of the best ever. For dessert, the bread pudding with pecan nuts, very hearty but delicious. The decoration is typical North American diner with cubicles. The only problem is that they put us at a table next to the open kitchen, and we came out smelling a lot like frying. But it is a place to have as a reference in the area. Excellent service, they called us a taxi when we needed one. Congratulations to the entire Mittz team.

Today is Saturday 2pm. We were sitting at our table for 12 mins - hostess was nice sat us quickly. But we never saw a waitress. So left after the 12 mins of waiting There was plenty of staff, all walking right by us. Very poor service. To much socializing instead of serving

I went to Mittz tonight for the first time in ages. It has a great atmosphere for conversation--comfortable and on the quiet side. I had the sweet potato crusted haddock on risotto and it was plentiful and extremely delicious, including the asparagus side. The Empress Cherry Smash cocktail for $16, on the other hand, just tasted like a gin and tonic.

Arrived early for our reservation after being disappointed at our happy hour choice. We were seated right away. Drink and appy orders taken and drinks arrived within minutes. So many good food choices we had trouble deciding. Everything was excellent! Great food, good drinks and Fabulous service!

Excellent food but the server wasn t fantastic. She was completely inattentive and it was a quiet night. Not asking for drinks at all. I had to stop her and get her to come and order. No water, no second drink order. My friend had a hair in her food and was told it was a string from a veggie which we could see it wasn t. After using the washroom, we could see that the kitchen was super dirty. It wasn t a great experience overall. That being said, my meal was delicious.

Maybe my expectations were too high based on all of the great reviews, but we didn t have a good experience here. I had the night s special, a margarita with their house made ginger beer, and it s really not a marg, tastes a lot closer to a mule because of how the ginger beer drowns all other flavours. The calamari and prawns were delicious the highlight of our meal! My meal was oily and felt heavy despite being a light white fish and asparagus. My husband s chicken sandwich was over-cooked, crunchy and dry, but the fries were great! The service was slow and overall we were underwhelmed by Mittz Kitchen.

Went there for Fathers day dinner, disappointed that the brisket was burnt and over sauced, brussel burnt. Should not be on menu, true brisquet lovers will be disappointed.

The food was excellent. The prawns and calamari appetizer was delicious and piping hot. In my US hometown there is a burger place which claims to serve the best burgers in the world. This claim is not true. I can say with absolute confidence that the best burgers in the world are served at Mittz Kitchen.

Service is very good, we requested for milk for coffee instead of cream and the staff went to the nearest grocery to get milk for us. I find the food to be cooked a little too dry though but everything else is very good.

Dined here a couple times, and very satisfied both times. Good service, quality and innovative food and drink. Definitely worth having a meal and a beverage here.

We arrived at 730 pm, and were seated immediately. While the food was pretty good, it was a bit pricey. The Keg would have better price per portion in my opinion. Their seafood special indicated 3 Prawns when In fact it was 3 tiny shrimps. Food took almost a full hour to come out. The steak was good tasting, but the Cod seemed very bland. Their beer was basically all sold out except IPA. They offered Draght for $8 and domestic bottles for $7.50. What?! They server seemed surprised when I said I wasnt going to buy another $7.50 bottle of domestic beer and that Id have a water instead. Atmosphere was good, not invasive, and booth was nice. Would try others before instictvely going back, but I wouldnt write it off completely. Parking: Park on the street was available and since we were after 6pm it was free.

Oh my god!! I had the Parmesan tomato soup today and I am a major foodie and this was by far one of the best soups I have had at a restaurant. Was so flavourful and filling yet didnt make me feel heavy. The soup had some croutons on the top and big bits of Parmesan melted in the soup. 100/10 would recommend! Thank you to the kitchen ! You guys are great and will be back :)

Quite possibly the best cheeseburger i have ever had. The menu was full of delicious options. The staff was pleasant and knowledgeable. And the food was affordable despite its upper end atmosphere. Cant wait to try the other items on the menu!! :)

I wasn t expecting such amazing food! Holy moly! The risotto is to die for and the prices are good for the quality of the food you will get!

Love it! So fresh, creative and delicious. I literally dream of coming back here! Awesome cocktails both alcoholic and non. I had the Sable Fish Gnocchi and Crème Brule ... I was in heaven! Will be back for sure next time Im passing through Kamloops! Vegetarian options: They had some great vegetarian options which is lovely to see!

After reading the great reviews, my wife and I were anticipating a good dining experience here; unfortunately that was not the case. We were seated right away, which seemed like a good start, however we then waited nearly 15 minutes without seeing a server before we finally got up and asked someone for some water. The staff member proceeded to explain that she did not know who was supposed to be serving our table, and that she would take our order in the meantime. We ordered a few dishes to try (brisket, wings, salad), none of which were particularly great, and one that had to be sent back because it wasn t as ordered. We finished our first drink long before the meal was served and only had the opportunity to ask for a second drink when the server delivered the meal and asked if there was anything else we needed (this was approximately 10 minutes after finishing the first drink). In the end we were presented with the bill without any sort of apology for the slow service and miss order. We made a conscious effort to skip the tip, which is most certainly not typical for us.

Great food and great service. We had dinner (6 people), 4 of whom went off-menu with their meal requests. Our server, Zac, was awesome. He made it easy to change things up and put orders came flawlessly. The meals were great and fresh. It was a super awesome experience. I can t wait to go back.

Of all the restaurants I have gone to over the years Mittz kitchen is consistently the best. The service and the food are always excellent, it s in a quiet part of Kamloops and has great atmosphere. I can t wait to get back for another fantastic evening.

Incredibly delicious and reasonable pricing for whats served! 3 meals a pop and caesar with a 20% tip was only $100. Highly recommend.

A few years back when visiting Kamloops, we happen to take a lunch at Mittz Kitchen. Their Sable Fish dish left a very positive memory of this delightful experience. So, we couldnt pass up the second chance when passing today through Kamloops - and again we were not disappointed - a fabulously light, flavourful dish you could eat several times a week (and the sweet potato gnocchi are heavenly)! I cant wait for the next time when traveling to/through/around Kamloops to treat ourselves again.

One of my favourite places to eat in Kamloops. Everything on the menu is delicious, and it is a regular night out for myself and my wife. Mittz also has great service. We will be back again and again, highly recommended.

Burgers were really good. I still think Red Beards might be slightly better, but Im not complaining. This is still one of the best in town. Happy hour pints were a nice surprise.

A great place, where you can enjoy the food, very good service, a quiet atmosphere to chat while you enjoy the dishes.

Loved their food!! This has been the tastiest and flavourful steak (because of the sauce and the way it is sautéed). loved their risotto and chicken tacos!! Ill visit once we visit Kamloops again :)

We made reservations for our daughters birthday dinner in advance. The restaurant was fairly empty while we were there but we were seated in the very back corner by the kitchen which I can t say is ideal. The tempura and calamari was small and the bang bang sauce tasted like plain mayonnaise. My daughter and I both got the siracha maple chicken burger and it tasted nothing like the description, merely like it was soaked in alot of soy sauce. No spice no sweetness. Even with the low capacity our burgers sat under the warmer for 15-20 minutes before we were served. We have eaten at the majority of the restaurants in Kamloops and it s probably the worst meals we have had. I ve had a better burger at wendys .

We went yesterday and it was so-so, certainly not worth their relatively high prices. Granted, Im visiting from Vancouver where theres a lot more competition. I had a burger and it was good, juicy, not overly cooked. The person I went with was disappointed in her spaghetti, which looked good on paper but it had too many ingredients fighting each other and the noodle texture was flat. You would hope the lobster cream sauce would shine, but the pasta just tasted like Roma tomatoes. But their major problem was service. The kitchen was either slow or our order didnt go in right away. I think our server was also bartending so it was hard to flag her down. We did a lot of waiting. If you want to try Mittz food, goto the Yew Street food hall instead - thats where their effort seems to be focused and the prices are lower for the same items. I dont often give 3 star reviews. We liked the atmosphere and do hope Mittz kitchen can pick up their service and food quality.

Three tacos were delicious. The poke plate however lacked flavour and the ingredients were quite plain. I heard good things about the restaurant, so Ill have to go back and try something else.
