We were really looking forward to a special evening and had high hopes for our dinner, especially with the reservation for the outdoor igloo, which was a lovely touch. The atmosphere was great, but unfortunately, the food didn’t live up to expectations. The burger was a major letdown— the bun was incredibly stiff, almost as if it was stale, and the plating was far from appetizing. The wings, however, were a pleasant surprise—crispy and flavorful, they were definitely the highlight of the meal. The mushroom pasta, on the other hand, was dry and unappetizing, to the point where we decided to take it home to salvage it with a homemade sauce. It felt like a waste of a dinner we were really excited about. While the igloo experience itself was memorable, the food simply didn’t match the standard we were hoping for. It’s disappointing when the atmosphere sets such high expectations, only for the meal to fall short.
Great view with warm dorm. Breakfast was great but the other meals (I ordered Khao Soi with Salmon and other steak) are like a hit or miss. I’m Thai and Khao Soi is Northern Thai food but nothing too exciting. Food could be better for the price they have charged.
Stumbled upon this gem. Great view, excellent service by Jessica, and the food was delicious. I was pleasantly surprised by the Flight Features on the Happy Hour menu. I thoroughly enjoyed my experience, and should I make my way back to Kamloops, it will be my first choice.
I had a great lunch here. The food was very good and the service was friendly and fast. Definitely would come back here again.
I was there to meet my book club. Everyone ordered different things. The ladies I was with were raving about the Naan appetizers, and they enjoyed the sangria too. I had a glass of white and a slice of tiramisu, which was a lovely accompaniment to our reading. The view is incredible, and the staff were helpful and efficient.
Great place, very kind staff and EXCELLENT food. We had a salad with prawns and the ribs: they were so good they melted in our mouth and they were accompanied by a kimchi mac and cheese that was so good it almost stole the scene from the ribs!
We came here for the flights and were not disappointed. The patio has a great view of the city but it needs a lil love in the ambiance (has so much potential) Our server Taylor was great! The food was average to say the least. The crab cakes were over cooked and tasted like salmon cakes? The mussels had way too much fennel (which can be over powering) the wings seemed like they were a “boxed” item. They also serve 20oz beers in 16oz glasses? But advertise that their 20oz….the bathrooms were also very dirty, wet paper towel outside of the entrance and all over the floor.
Was pleasantly surprised by the quality of food served at this restaurant. As a guest at the hotel for the week it was really nice to get a solid tasty meal at the end of the day with a good beer and drink selection. Staff was great and accommodating. I had the steak, lamb shank, pork chop and birria beef during my staff. All 4 were great but highly recommended the lamb and steak.
Amazing view of the valley; cool bubble seats, and maybe the food is normally good (but pricey). we only got the hotel breakfast and they obviously cooked it hours earlier. The waitress is super aggressive in acquiring those vouchers.
The server that I got barley gave me and my kids a table, didnt bring any kids menus, took a very long time to get to us and the restaurant was completely empty, when I finally got to ordering my kids food it didnt even come with the things it said it would come with and she didnt even include the drinks, when I asked for the drinks she looked annoyed aswell. Never felt so discriminated in a restaurant
Mediocre restaurant, beautiful ambiance, the food was just ok nothing too special ( for what we had). Service timing was good (considering there were only 3 tables with guests). The serving staff felt very unwelcoming and lacked a sense of hospitality, just did the bare minimum. Not worth returning. (Monday, Oct 21st, lunch)
Yes, I came back! Xmas party, breakfast and now igloo dinner. Every time there is an improvement. Lovely and friendly server. Had an amazing time in this cute igloo with friends and wine.
3 of us 4 had food poisoning with the mussels. Ruined our night and spent it you know where... service took very long to come. The lamb was very mediocre. The soup of the day, butternut squash (one of my favorite) was way off and not good at all. Very disappointing experience. Although with all of that, the staff did take the mussels off our bill and offered free compensatory dessert which we really did not want at that point. Unfortunate experience for us, hopefully a better one for you. But at that point, theres so many other good restaurants out there, dont risk the chance and just go somewhere else.
Excellent place food and service. Only downfall Is you should let customers know your going to charge $4 for 2 slices of lime on top of your pricey Margaritas. Thank you Meatloaf was wonderful but not a fan of the Bbq glaze, wished it was a beef Demi glaze instead,so glad your curried cauliflower blended, that was brilliant. Your Gyozas where the best Ive ever had!!!
Food was fresh and amazing, super friendly stuff!!
Romeos is a good restaurant with good quality food and drinks.
If s a place for people with money, i paid 55 $ for a meal . I am a truck driver and i just gave order because it was close to Tim Hortons and I needed a decent coffee, so if you wanna dine in it might be better but I paid 55$ for a idiot cook and i hate the food he cooked, so don t go there
Great atmosphere, beautiful outdoor patio, delicious food and drinks (I had the Pad Thai & cheesecake). The drink tower, flights and features are really neat and delicious. Service was great, quick, friendly, knowledgeable staff. Highly recommend.
A busy airport hotel type restaurant with a lot of people just passing through They were just a bit too busy that night with maybe not enough staff We weren t allowed even have a drink at the Bar while we waited for a table Told it would be 35 mins but got it much faster Food : 3/5 |
Food was not good and they did not let us play mini sticks down stairs brutal
Several of us tried many times to contact Romeos via phone, social media, and email to get some information about their Thanksgiving buffet days/weeks before the buffet was to happen but never received a response and no one ever picked up the phone. So went elsewhere.
I spent some time at Romeo s as I was staying at the Coast for work. The staff were fantastic, attentive and didn t give you that normal drivel of conversation ( any plans for the rest of the day? ). The food was solid for the price point, the place was clean and airy. The beer list was great! Not just Coors, Bud and Bud-light. A very easy place to spend time between business meetings and flights. Dietary restrictions: They ask before you order. Kid-friendliness: Space Wheelchair accessibility: Yes
My wife and I have always looked forward to staying at Coast Kamloops and dining at Romeos when we return to Vancouver Island. Food and service was always second to none .... up until our last visit 26 Aug 20. We were seated and then we wait. Tables arriving after us were getting water and drinks. We called a waiter and inquired. He said hed be right back. Returned, and could not answer any questions on the bar selections. Went to inquire, returned with some info. Ordered a drink each, an appetizer (calamari) and mains. Waited, no drinks and after some time appetizer arrived..... No drinks. Started appitizer, drinks arrived followed by mains before appetizer was even finished. Did not even have chance to take a sip of our drinks! Asked for manager after meal and voiced my displeasure. Told her food was good, however, felt like we were eating in a roadside diner. Left a bad taste, was looking forward to nice relaxing dinner after checking in after a six hour drive. May look elsewhere next time we stop in Kamloops.
We had the pleasure of dining at Romeos Kitchen & Spirits for the first time and were not disappointed. Our evening started with a sweet and kind introduction from our server Jayden. She was bubbly and attentive right from the first hello. She made excellent suggestions for amazing cocktails and food. Started with the Moroccan Dip followed by mains of Butter Chicken and the Butternut Squash Ravioli. Jayden was attentive to our needs and made sure we had everything we needed. We will definitely be back and will request her section for sure!
Taylor was an exceptional host with not only her food and drink recommendations but with her great hospitality; Taylor was able to create a picture perfect date night. Highly recommend coming out here and having Taylor help create your perfect date night!
Excellent restaurant, located in a beautiful hotel in Kamloops. We had dinner on the balcony of our room, it was very pleasant. The team was also very professional (small error, I was charged twice on my card but they reimbursed me immediately, without any problem). I recommend of course!
we were in tonight for dinner we were celebrating an anniversary, the hostess who sat us was nice, but the service was bad, sat down and ordered a beer, and I had to ask twice for a glass so I could have a taste of his beer, to see if I would like it, then we tried to have a pleasant conversation with server, but she was more interested in what her co-worker was doing, the food was amazing!! I had the salmon and my husband had the fish and chips, the special on the sheet was $10 for a double margarita, but when the bill came she did not sit a bill in front of us but she just brought the credit card machine, so when I asked for bill she charged us a few dollars more for the marg, we were so disappointment when we left, it was a special night for us and the server did not make our evening special, with the high cost of going out these days restaurants must do better, we have been here a few time and prob not return.
Excellent service and the halibut and chips were delicious!!
Only gotten takeout 3 different times while staying in the hotel. Food is mediocre at best, definitely not worth the price but fine since it s an easy option. Why I m writing this review is I recently got the chicken skewers. For $15 I got 4 skewers of chicken that were smaller than my finger. Complete rip off and should have been half that cost at most.
The location and view is nice, convenient if you re in the hotel (we were staying elsewhere but just went for dinner). Our server Dylann was very nice and attentive, but the food was extremely disappointing. The Pad Thai was extremely heavy on the spices, not so much heat, but very over powering. The Roast Chicken though was the biggest disappointment. It was supposed to be with roast vegetables, but had maybe one mushroom and three small slices of onion. The chicken was dry and very bland. The spaetzle was also very flavourless. The portion size of the chicken was also very small for a $29.00 meal, the attached photo I had only just tried a small piece of the chicken, I hadn t even had any of the roast vegetables . I feel like I was served possibly $4.00 worth of food, and not very good food at that.
We re very happy with our lunch today. I had the pad Thai and my husband had the fish burger. The service was excellent, the food was hot and delicious. We both felt we had good value for our money spent, and we will be back.
always amazing and great seevicd
Delicious food and fantastic service. The table shared the cheese nann bread and crab cakes to start. I had the lamb shank with couscous and delightful raspberry old fashioned. The few of the valley is quite nice.
I had plastic in my food. This plastic was in my mouth and I almost swallowed it. I let my server know, she said she would talk to her manager. No one came to speak to me, she didn t come back and say anything about the problem. I would expect that someone would have come and talked to me. I also wasn t told that there was an auto gratuity on my bill (18% automatically added, for not great service) so I tipped 18% on top of 18% that was added and I wasn t told about. Not my favourite experience, mediocre food, drinks took a long time.
Ive eaten there twice. I had the French toast a year or more ago. They made the syrup with salt instead sugar. I figured someone was having a rough day there. Went back a year or more later for lunch and the 22 dollar turkey panini was dry and stale. The turkey was dry. Looked like it had been sitting on the flat top way too long.... then under a heat lamp to reheat. This place is awful .
Always enjoy coming and trying a new flight. Had dinner and both dinners were as good as always. Andy (Andie) our server was fantastic. See you all soon again
We celebrated our anniversary last night and our meal did not disappoint. The food was delicious and , despite being busy, our meals arrived quickly. The servers were very friendly and professional. I highly recommend the coconut tapioca for dessert.
Nice quiet place for intimate dinning.
Excellent meal, fast friendly service
I can t actually write a review on the food as we were seated and waited for 15 minutes and no one even took our drink order. The restaurant was not busy. We were seated right away by the fireplace but never saw a server even near our table. Some did walk by. Finally gave up and left. Explained to the host why we were leaving and she just stared blankly at us.
We went to Romeos for dinner last night because we heard that the food was good. We were the only table in the entire restaurant , and yet, our drinks took 22 minutes to arrive at the table. The food was mediocre at best, and everything was overpriced for the quality. We then ordered room service the next morning, our bill was $52.00 for 2 breakfast meals, extra toast, and pancakes. The bacon was black and burnt, the eggs tasted like plastic, they forgot everybodys toast, and never brought us ketchup! Then when we phoned back to let them know they forgot our toast and ketchup, they later brought us cold un-buttered toast, and once again forgot the ketchup. Unbelievably disappointing experience.
Made a reservation for a birthday. Did not need the reservation. I arrived at 430 the time of my reso. I sat on the patio for 7 minutes before a server came over. I preordered Friday flights before my friends arrived. My friends arrived at 445. Flights arrived at 450. One of our party went to find a server to ask where our beverages were. He ordered a draft beer. We left at 505. No beer still at the table and had not seen our server. Was given the excuse that something did not print. I would perhaps dismiss this if they were slammed. They were not. Perhaps 8 tables total inside and out. Extremely disappointed.
We made a reservation at 4:30 for a birthday, which we did not need. One of our party (3 people) pre-ordered Friday flights for us. The rest of the party arrived at 4:45.... no drinks yet. We sat there for another 5 minutes, flights arrived but they dropped and ran. One of our party searched out a server to order a draft beer. 5pm, no beer...no taking food order. We finished our flights, still no beer. Walked in to get our bill, asked them to cancel the beer at 5:05. We said we were leaving since wed been there since 4:30 with barely any acknowledgement, this wouldnt have been an issue for us if they had been busy. There was maybe 8 tables seated. They kindly compd our 2 flights. Not the birthday celebration we had planned.
The food was amazing. Our waiter TJ was really good at his job and did t even have to write anything down. I am 9 and I LOVE this place and will come again. (Perry is my GUP!!!)
Had dinner at Romeo s while traveling through town. Had the crab cakes and Ceasar salad with halibut. The crab cakes were too deep fried on the outside and tasted more like canned tuna on the inside. While the salad was good the halibut was very disappointing. Way over cooked in the deep fryer and dry and chewy. Maybe, it was just an off night but we didn t leave very satisfied. Our server was very friendly and receptive to our concerns.
Our experience at Romeo s was a disappointment. We ordered a ceasar salad with halibut and the crab cakes. The crab cakes tasted like canned tuna and the halibut was extremely over cooked to a point of hardly being able to cut through it. The ceasar salad was delicious. We were offered a free dessert as compensation for our experience, however neither of us have a sweet tooth. A discount would have been appreciated. Our server was friendly.
Looking forward to good Rueben and fries. After getting food meat was like it just came out of cooler. No napkins no cutlery had to ask for salt and pepper only got pepper took salt from over counter. Sitting at bar feet from servers never asked how or if l wanted anything never had this poor a service.
Dont normally leave reviews however we had a family dinner last night and left with disappointment. 1st issue the waitress we had was not friendly, and seemed annoyed at with questions we had with the menu. Short snappy responses making us feel uncomfortable and our business was not wanted. Service was slow. To top it off our orders were wrong and one member of our groups meal had a plastic cap in the soup. Food was mid, nothing over the top that is worth the 25$-30$ per meal. I work for a large corporation and regularly book Romeos for team dinners but unfortunately now I will be scheduling elsewhere. On a positive note, the manager offered to correct the issues we had and was pleasant, wish that was the same for our waitress.
Perhaps I simply ordered the wrong things, but the food was awful. The Caesar salad is not a Caesar salad at all, other than it is made with romaine lettuce - or more accurately the white part of romaine lettuce. If you re low on sodium and don t care about flavour, this is your place!
I went over to Romeos, after checking in at the Coast. I let the host know I would be meeting someone for beverages and applies, and would like a table in a quite area. Afterwords, I would order a meal. I was told the only available table was one in the middle of an open busy area of the restaurant. They let me know, it was that or a seat at the bar. However, there were clearly several empty booths near the entrance. When I asked to be seated there, they were firm about that area being closed to seating. I asked if they would reconsider, and another staff come over to reiterate that it was closed. He said they didnt have the staff to cover that area. We ended up sitting at the bar, and an hour or so later, I noticed patrons being seated in the very area they insisted was closed. It was a huge disappointment!
Great overall experience Kid-friendliness: There were games for the kids and fast service Food : 5/5 |
Great food. The Friday flight drinks were so amazing. We went for wifes Birthday and they made sure she gets a dessert on the house. Jessica helped us throughout and she did it perfectly and needs a huge shoutout on how well she was handling so many tables. Korean style tacos were refreshing and mouthful than we thought. Lamb shank was overall great. But the star was the 4 drinks
We really enjoyed Romeos for lunch today (Sunday). It was warm (which is a rare feature in restaurants in winter) so it was relaxing and comfortable. The music wasnt competing with conversation. The service was the perfect balance of friendly, attentive and yet non-intrusive and the food was very good. It felt pleasantly surprising. We will definitely go back.
This review is based on our last visit not previous visits. Went there to Celebrate moms 86 Birthday. They have the WORST Reuben sandwich in Kamloops. There was very little meat in the sandwich. If you are looking for a good Rueben I would suggest.... Harolds, Stock Pot Cafe, Scotts family restaurant......... even ARBYS. My daughter also said her ceaser salad was really not good. 3 out of 6 meals were a big miss. They have a great breakfast and we will continue to go there for that but it will be a while before returning for dinner.
Worst dining experience of my life. Will never return. Long story short. Our starter salads and steaks were plunked down on the table when we were still eating our appetizers. It was allmost impossible to get a beverage. We sat there for 20 min befor anyone came to serve us but after that it was fast food service. I was so looking forward to having dinner there. I was so disappointed. The food was delicious but it sat in my stomach like a rock. Our meal was comped, but that couldent take the sour taste out of my mouth. My most favorite restaurant is now off the list of places I will go to eat. ;(
Excellent food, great beer list and exceptional service, thank you Brooklyn! Excellent overall!!
I m always surprised by the great reviews here but been twice now and food is mediocre at best. Ordered halibut burger and the fish was tiny only taking up half the bun. Fries dark and over cooked . Shared some desserts and cheese cake was way too sweet and a dollop set between 2 biscuits. I wish could take photos. Service was barely there. I ve had better food at McDonald s
Lovely time overall, however; the online booking for an igloo was complicated and resulted in a big trip planned with only a dine-in normal reservation due to a small option during the booking process that was not noticed. Sad times.
We went there for our anniversary and had a booking in igloo. It was pretty great. The ambience was cosy and good. The food was also nice.
Visited Romeo s on a double date , food was not good but the atmosphere and service was really good I would compare the food quality to Denny s Food
Thank you so much to Matt and the team at Romeo s for making my mum s birthday so special! She had an amazing time, enjoyed the food and dessert and of course the unique experience of dining in the igloo.
Great Atmosphere and friendly hard working staff. The food was delicious!
Just had a wonderful dinner date . I had the Morocan Lamb Shank and my date had the steak. Both of our meals were delicious. We enjoyed a bottle of local red from Oliver. Our server named Matt was a delight. He was a great server and is a young man who has a great future instore for himself when he finishes school. They were super attentive to our needs but also gave us time to enjoy a first date. The food was great but our server and whomever the lovely lady in the black and white poka dot dress was, who brought our wine , will be the reasons we come back . Thanks Matt, The Chef and kitchen and all the restaurant staff for making our evening so enjoyable. Happy Valentines day. Val M
I had been looking forward to a night out with family. In the past I was more than satisfied with my meal;however, this evening was a big disappointment. My grandson asked for mashed potatoes and got baked:my son- in-law asked for no pickle, onion or sauce on his burger but got all three. There was so much batter on my mother s fish the fish was barely evident. The chicken in my pad Thai was so dry as to be inedible. So we spent more than $200 on a meal that left us feeling very dissatisfied. I can not recommend this restaurant Parking: Could not find a handicapped spot.
Good atmosphere and good food. We tried their poutine, pad thai, and fish burger. They were very tasty and mouthwatering. Good vibe, a peaceful place with a fair price. Portions sizes are big and highly recommended for someone who is looking for a quick and decent dinner.
Food was adequate. Very expensive and proportions arent great. Need to bring back that amazing buffet. Some dishes are unconventional and breakfast menu is way too small. Server was very friendly but we were kind of ignored in corner. Atmosphere is great. Igloos are fun for everyone.
We really enjoyed the Igloo dining experience. Our food was excellent and we enjoyed the cocktail flights. We each ordered a different desert to share and they were all delicious. Our server (whose name I did not get unfortunately) was very friendly and helpful. Will definitely be back!
We were traveling through Kamloops and popped in here and it was fabulous! Their Caesar salad was the best that we have ever had. It s not heavy and creamy like most so different and creative. Everything else that we had was great as well.
The best place enjoy an excellent stay I loved this place
Great food and great drinks. Definitely worth the stop
Went there for a celebration with work and the food was amazing!
Wow... Thats all I can say... well no theres more. The food was absolutely delicious. The Birria beef was so tender that you dont even need the steak knife they give you. A spoon would suffice. The meal was well seasoned and exceptionally plated. And oh the rhubarb pavlova is an amazing dessert should you be a fan of rhubarb, which I am! It was absolutely a delicious meal with clean plates to prove it. The service by Daniel the bartender/server was also unmatched. Attentive and very personable! Well done Romeros for hiring such great staff. Youve got a great kitchen and and equally great FOH staff
My first experience with ROMEOs was not the greatest. I shared my review here on google and was surprised when I received a response from the owner. I am looking forward to my next trip through and I am willing to give them another try. Thanks for listening and the follow up. This review went from a 1 STAR now to a 3 STAR. I will see about adding another star or two after my next visit.
Food was excellent and timely. Service was ok. Might been short staffed as some longer waits to order drinks and dessert. Location/ atmosphere ok. Nothing to write home about.
Kid-friendliness: The service was excellent, the food was delicious. The kids absolutely loved their dishes and the experience of being in the igloo. Highly recommend for an amazing meal out.
Ordered takeout for two to celebrate New Years Eve. Got home, opened the bag- my boyfriend and I were laughing. The meals were in child-sized portions. I was hoping the meal would be nice at the very least. The beef rice noodle dish literally had no beef in it... Butter chicken was salty.
Always a favorite spot when Im in town. Service is always great, food menu is diverse and tasty, and a good array of cocktails, beer, and wine to choose from. And the view of the city is amazing! Food : 5/5
Good place to grab a meal has a wide variety of dishes from a few different countries.
We were extremely excited for a much needed night out with Friends. We decided to rent the igloo for Last Night Sat Jan13. The igloo and atmosphere was lovely. We were greeted by the server and we asked for a few mins to pick some drinks, 10 minutes later he came back to take our order. We waited and waited for our drinks they arrived about 20 mins later. We ordered the red Sangria which was completely Tasteless ( a $6 bottle of Boones sangria would be 10 times taster than what we were served ) . I ordered the superflux which I really enjoy drinking. 1st it only comes in a 16 ounce glass and all other places I drink it comes in a 20ounce , it was $9 for a small one and other establishments in town serve the pint for that price. I took 1 sip and it was completely Flat, i was extremely disappointed after waiting 20 mins for it. Our appies came and ours were great, my friend got the soup, which came without a spoon. When he asked for a spoon the server said ok I ll grab one. He returned once again without the spoon but brought our other appies. 10 mins since the soup was dropped of he got his spoon and the soup was now Cold . Over all the food was great. Drinks were less than desirable, I ended up buying a bottle of well know wine as I know what I would be getting. As we don t get out much due to having 3 young children we were excited to try this experience and unfortunately we were quite underwhelmed.
Great food, lovely atmosphere, slightly pricy. Ate here twice during a work trip and had a great experience both times. Tried a few items from the menu, and all were so delicious that I forgot to take photos! Except for the dessert, because it looked beautiful! I definitely recommend the kimchi mac and cheese, and the pear and cinnamon cocktail was delightful. All the servers were lovely, even when under pressure due to a large group. The wait time increased as a result, but thats to be expected. All in all, they handled themselves well as a team. Ill definitely stop by again the next time Im in the area.
Mimosas were so good!! Looking forward to the igloo experience next time
Went for igloo and it was worth the experience. Food was great! Not many vegetarian options but whatever they had was good. Love it.
Get the PB Smoke Old Fashioned. Its a whiskey cocktail and cigar all in one .
Always a great experience
Yet another amazing meal and delicious drinks at Romeos. Our server was great handling a table of 10 on a sunday morning, Our server was attentative, kept our drinks full and a smile on her face. Thanks for a great experience Romeos team!
We went in because the vegetarian options appealed to my wife, but we found so much more. Each of our meals were flavorful, inviting and tasted amazing. Not often you devour brussel sprouts because of how delicious they are. The staff were accommodating and friendly, and allowing us to move next to the large central fire made my wife very happy. It was great food, and great people and they really made our anniversary special.
I am Celiac and I have come to understand that having a gluten disease comes with its risks. However for me to get a sick as I did last night after eating here they cannot have taken the precautions I had asked for. The butter chicken stated it was gluten free. I spoke to our server specifically and told him to ask that they be extra careful. What did I get, sick as I have ever been when I have been glutened. Small traces which I am sure I get in some restaurants do not make me react like I did last night. If you are celiac or sensitive to anything I would steer far away from here. The food was not worth the cost we paid, mediocre at best. Save your money and go elsewhere. Dietary restrictions: If you are Celiac or have gluten sensitivity do not go here.
Great food, staff, and atmosphere. I will prob eat there every night I am in town
Horrible service took 3 hrs to get my food, passive aggressive waitress, watered down drinks, tasted 0 alc in them I would not recommend this place at all.
Excellent Eggs Benny. Great service.
Both Service & Food did not measure up to 4.2 google rating. Chicken that came with our meals was coated and deep fried in small balls or pieces. Didn t go well with salad which we thought would be healthier option. They were $24 salads so expected them to be good and disappointed in size of meal too. They brought food and we had no silverware until we found someone to ask. They didn t check on us to see how our meals were, or to ask if we wanted another beverage. Don t recommend this place. Katch and Korean BBQ down the street were way better.
We had such a lovely time, our server, Emma, was wonderful and so on top of everything. The food was delicious and varied, the restaurant offers a number of dining options, lots of local foods and alcohols, and plenty of choices. Our families had an amazing first meet and greet in great part to the wonderful food, service, and atmosphere at Romeo s. Totally recommend for any event, big or small!
I asked for specific things on my reservation and the staff all delivered! Thank you so much! You guys made the night perfect!
The experience was genuinely great. Kid-friendliness: The waitress took the proper time to make sure we were looked after appropriately.
What an awesome meal! The ceasar salad was like no other that we ve had - excellent! Butternut squash and my husband had the braised beef - 10 stars! The wine flights were really good and the desert of lemon cake. We just can t say enough about Emma our server - friendly, great service, knowledgeable and just overall a cute nice girl!
It was our first visit here and we are delighted with the service, the food and the atmosphere. Our server, Carolina, was super friendly, gave us the best recommendations, and was on the lookout for us throughout the evening. Without a doubt, we will return soon.
We just held a 50th anniversary event at Romeo s and it was absolutely perfect. The staff was very friendly, attentive and personable, making sure everything was exactly the way we wanted. The food was unbelievably good- we chose a buffet option and every single item was delicious, to go along with the local wine list and craft cocktails and beer. Couldn t be happier and will hold all of our events there from now on.
Best meal we have had in a very long time!
Great evening with a few friends. Everyone loved their food. Really diversified menu. Attentive wait staff. We spent over 2 hours getting caught up. Didnt feel rushed. We will be back. Vegetarian options: All menu items state whether vegan, vegetarian, gluten free or allergy warnings.
Update : A few months later (march)... I would like to say that Romeos have redeemed themselves. After posting the not so salubrious review below, Romeos contacted us to make things right. We said.. ok. Lets go for it. Happy to report that dinner was back up to the standards we expect . Service was terrific, and my salmon was not overcooked and dry. It was 100% better this time around. Thanks to management for making good ...we will be back again. Cheers! ----- (Nov). Not a good night at Romeos. Had the salmon..which was a good size portion..but sorry to say it was really dry and completely overdone and burnt . Came with sweet potato fries which were also overdone, but no veg. The Ceasar salad had large chunks of kale that could have been smaller, and the dressing was sparse. Its a bit sad really....our previous visit was wonderful.
This restaurant is located in the Coast Hotel. Nice view of Kamloops. Our server was Robin an d he did a great job. We started with the Memphis dry ribs. They were quite good with a lot of meat on the bone. And they aren t spicy at all. Recommend. Next my hubby had the seafood chowder. It was average. He s had better. Could use more spices; a bit bland. I had a bowl of their beef tomato daily soup. It was quite tasty however if I had one critique it would be to have smaller chunks of beef and slightly less (I know right!!). We also had the beer flight as it was the special and for $9 it was a good deal. Had a Caesar and it was ok. Needed to be more spicy and didn t particularly like the rim trim (Montreal steak spice). Lastly had the walnut special coffee and I loved it (had a nice mound of whipped cream too with a sugary rim). So yummy. Overall I d recommend this place.
The uptown burger is delicious! Service is friendly, atmosphere is inviting and spacious and the prices are very reasonable. Will definitely return.
Good quality dinning options. wish had little more options for kids, but really nice
Food was fantastic server was on point and the atmosphere was great. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for great eats. Will definitely visit again when passing through kamloops
Great location and super attention to detail. Our server Spencer really knew how to make our experience memorable.
I ordered the new York strip and a baked potato. The potato was quite dry... The sauce was necessary- tasty but not the best. Server was awesome. Good attitude for dealing with a dozen mechanics.
Fantastic service! Friendly, genuine and conversational service. Absolutely love the Caprese Grilled Cheese and sweet potato fries.
Lovely restaurant in the hotel. View, fireplace, excellent service and food. Id make a point of going back. Vegetarian options: Not a lot but enough to give choices.
Great place for hosting friends, excellent food quality, reasonable quantity and price
We decided to try out Romeo during our road trip and to be honest, we were quit disappointed at first and even thinking of leaving. We reserved pretty early at around 4ish. We were seated by the fireplace for two, but because it was 30+ degrees outside, we dont need to fireplace to keep us warm. However, once we were seated, with only two other occupied tables, no one came to us for water or ordering. We were left alone for about 10 mins, by the fireplace getting toasty and sweaty. After that, the waitress finally came, and we asked to sit by the window, which she said sure, and walked away..... without guiding us over to which seat or helping us bring the water over.. again, after we were seated, we were left alone for another 10-15min without water. Finally another waitress came providing us water and orders, which have been better. With that service experience, we started to think if its a good idea to continue ordering, but since we drove all the way from Vancouver, we decided to wait. Well, luckily we stayed because the waitress for our table is actually very nice. The food is actually not bad. Their dished are a bit too greasy and heavy taste. We do highly recommend for their Pork Ribs, which is very tender, and it comes with macroroni n cheese with a twist of kimchi. However, not recommended for their mussles appetitizer because its nothing special and just buttery taste. Also not recommended for their Stirloin Steak. We asked for medium rare, but it tasted dry. As for the cocktail drink, its definitely not recommended. Too much syrup, very sweet. Overall, not highly recommended, but probably we just went at the wrong time? Maybe the staffs are just not ready in the early hour.
Came for some drinks and some appy. All pretty good. Very big restaurant and nice view but be aware when they re busy the service will be very slow.
Quite good food, clam chowder is spectacular, however the portion size was very small, the chicken burger with pickled jalapeños was super
I had the back bacon eggs Benedict. I was not fond of the slice of bread they used vs an English muffin.
What a view over the valley!!! Daughter and I sat by the window with the lovely fireplace behind us. Erin was very helpful with our questions, then bringing our drinks and food order from a varied menu. Food : 5/5
Had the spicy tuna poke bowl. Tasted fresh and the presentation was nice. Service was fast and friendly.
Stopped in for some late night drinks while staying in the Coast hotel, my group and in ordered the cocktail flight as that was the daily flight offering. I enjoyed it but I found the cocktails to be incredibly sweet, not a bad thing but I really didnt taste any alcohol. Not bad at all but after four cocktails I didnt even have a slight buzz? I know its a silly complaint but I did feel it was a bit light on the alcohol. The hard lemonade I ordered after the flight was good I would definitely order that again.
Romeos have good choices for main Entrées .
Always a treat. Love the menu. Good atmosphere and service!
This is a great spot! A little hard to find on your first visit. But worth it once you do! Their patio has one of the best views in kamloops
Ill start with our waitress, Marie , she was amazing.... Promp, attentive, she was on the ball! Ill describe our meal as overly confusing. Although non of it was bad, non of it really went together well.... Examples being; the Caesar salad... what it lacked in the garlic or parmesan, or croutons... it made up for with Wasabi peas, some kind of sweet pickled onion on top, and an oil sauce that may have kind of resembled Caesar??? In a bowl so small, you had to eat through mismatched layers to find romaine at the bottom.... Definitely left us wanting a Caesar salad when we tried it.... Seafood chowder was a bit bland, but I can appreciate being able to add salt and pepper to a personal preference, and a touch of hot sauce made it delicious! The salmon was overcooked, dry and salty.... served with a romesco sauce (I have no idea why?) and sweet potato fries.... a mis match for sure, and the sweet potato fries were there star of the show that shouldnt have been there! I wanted home cooking, tried the meat loaf.... ordered the carrots side with it, as well as the Brussel side.... bad combo. I desperately need homecoming now The menu is a mismatch that needs to be addressed... but the atmosphere is nice and relaxing, the service was good.
DECENT FOOD, SERVICE AND ATMOSPHERE. WOULD RECOMMEND
Great place with a fab deck , good service and food. breakfast was awesome
One of my favorites when I find myself uptown!
Popped in for brunch today and we ordered the BB Bennys and Uptown Burger with a Romeos double Caesar and Superflux IPA. Our food was so quick out of the kitchen and the presentation and taste was great. Portion sizing was good as well - we left incredible full! Our server was equally as great - friendly and very quick to bring us waters, taking our order and bringing the bill. Highly recommend.
Beautiful sundowner and really good food and service!
Great food, friendly staff and nice not too loud dining area. Usually a bit quiter at noon perfect for a business lunch and busier in the evening which makes a great environment for a family dinner. Highly recommend!
Came in for breakfast this morning looking forward to trying the pineapple upside down pancakes and the macchiato French toast. Was disappointed with both. Expected the pancakes to have a pineapple type topping rather than one pineapple ring in the middle of a large pancake. The drizzle on top was very minimal. Pretty lackluster compared to the description. But what was even worse was the French toast. It said it was stuffed with a espresso cream cheese filling. It was not stuff let me tell you. It was barely a spread as there were still bits of plain white toast exposed. The drizzle was lacking too. Despite the flavourful description it was anything but. Were not one to waste food but we didnt even eat it. We had told the server our disappointment she did offer to get something else but we werent interested at that point. When I went to pay it was still on our bill. I had to ask to have it removed. Overall pretty disappointed on our breakfast given that this restaurant presented to be a much finer dining experience. My husband would have rather have just gone to McDonalds...would have been faster cheaper and tastier. Update: gave another chance. Told 15-20 mins for food for takeout; took over 30. Burger was decent, but patty on small side, fries run of the mill and they forgot to salt them. Dandan had great flavour, but portion size to price for some noodles and ground meat not good. $6 for a side of maybe 6 brussels total that lacked the dressing...avoid. Food was better than last, but still not wowed given the price point.
Get the wine flight and meat pizza! They were delicious and the staff are attentive. The patio has a lovely view and is quieter than inside, so be sure to ask for it when they ask at the entrance (bring your shades).
Madelyn our server was fabulous, Friday night flights, appies and pizza makes a great girls night
Great atmosphere, the seafood pasta was okay. Live music on Saturday was a nice touch!
An interesting and diverse menu, which I appreciate living in Kamloops. Ive always enjoyed brunch or lunch here. Great cocktails and a happy hour that starts at 1 pm! Highly recommend
Great food and great service.
The restaurant is located in a beautiful hotel. We ate on the terrace which was very pleasant and had a lovely view. We ate around 2 p.m. and enjoyed happy hour dishes which were excellent! So for 80 dollars, you can have 7 small dishes (fusion cuisine, fries with zaatar for example) and 7 good drinks (lavender lemonade, very original and very successful). Also, if you do the japser-vancouver route, its on the way (just get off the highway then go straight back in).
Our visit to Romeos was great! The food, service, and interior were wonderful! we had the caesar salad with grilled tofu(which the crispy capers were fantastic on), the bc smash burger with classic fries, and the seafood chowder which tasted very fresh! Our drinks and meals came out very speedy and our server, Riley, was very nice and had answers for every question we had! Would recommend! Vegetarian options: I am not personally vegetarian, but there were many vegetarian options two of which we tried and were very good, including the tofu which came sort of crispy grilled!
We went for dinner quite early, so the restaurant was very quiet, and the service was quick and very friendly. The food and drinks were good.
The restaurant is located inside the Coast Kamloops Hotel & Conference Centre. Nice view of Kamloops valley, especially on the patio. The restaurant named after the Chef Romeo Oloresisimo whose goal is to create food you know and love, but with a culturally infused. The food dressing is great and tastes
Hidden Gem, Chef is terrific, food was great and a quiet venue to meet folks and have a drink or three?!
Great service, food and selection of beer . Service was top notch
Not a lot of care taken in the presentation of the food. Just mediocre food overall.
Pizza was 4/10 too much basil and the mozarella wasnt distributed well
Best place to enjoy a date with the wife. Have the desserts
Extremely small portions. Don t bring an appetite. Seated immediately by a friendly guest agent with a table overlooking the City of Kamloops. A thick cloud of smoke from the nearby wildfires made it impossible to dine on their deck which also covered a l large portion of the city below. Decor of the dining area cried out for an update. Overall taste of the daily featured soup was too salty for my taste. With a name like Romeo, you d think there would be items related to love however, nope. None We did get to see a beautiful sunset. That took our minds off the disappointment we experienced during our visit.
My family and I went to Romeos for a fathers day buffet. It was delicious! The service was excellent and the restaurant itself is wonderful.
Excellent food and atmosphere
Limited menu but everything was excellent from burgers to baked chicken and desert! Service was great.
Really good tasty food.
I ordered the smoked salmon eggs Benny and it was delicious! The hollandaise sauce tasted like ice cream and the potatoes were seasoned well with a nice crunch. Total was 18$ before tax/tip
The food was fine and the drinks were mediocre. Didnt seem like the food and drinks were good enough for the cost The best part was the appetizers the cheesy Naan and the Morrigan dip were actually amazing. However the entrees and dessert were mediocre at best.
Great resteraunt fantastic service. Really needs a steak on lunch menu tho!
Food was not too our taste. Meatloaf was dry and has a very sweet sauce - could of been a dessert! Pork chop was as tough as leather. Waitress was very nice though
This was my second time visiting this restaurant. First time was good so I decided to take my parents this evening with my two kids. Let me start off by saying I am not a picky person by any standards. I have actually never sent food back in my life. This was my first time. I ordered the roast beef dinner which was $50! It came dried out, cold and under seasoned. The potatoes that accompanied the meal were also cold along with the carrots, cold cold cold. There was a Yorkshire pudding on the side that was filled with some sort of meat mixture that was so dried out on top. I couldn t even cut through it. It seems like the food had sat under a heat lamp, dried out, gotten cold , and then served. From the time I ordered until the time it came to the table was approximately five minutes. When I saw how quickly the food was brought out, I knew it was going to be a problem. There is absolutely no quality control in this restaurant. I can t understand how management would allow this meal to come to the table. The manager did come over, she looked very upset and questioned what could have possibly been wrong with the dried out cold food I sent back. Excuse me for not being able to eat something that disgusting. She made the situation worse with her attitude. My mom ordered the turkey dinner which was on special this evening. Hers also had to be sent back for being freezing cold when it came to the table. It wasn t just my dish that was underwhelming. It was also my moms. I have to say our waitress was amazing and I know this was absolutely not her fault. She was gracious and apologized over and over again for it not being enjoyable. But I just can t help but wonder why the manager was so upset by me, not liking the food to a point she made me feel guilty for even mentioning it. Her attitude sucks!.
The Huevos Rancheros was DELICIOUS. Great service, and so fast. Absolutely recommend.
The appetizers and drinks were great and the service was wonderful too Vegetarian options: At least a few vegetarian options on the menu, which is way more than many other places Food : 4/5 |
We had a fabulous dinner with our son and grand daughter. They gave us a large booth with a view of the beautiful fireplace. All our meals were delicious, really fast service! Very appreciated when you have a hungry 3 year old. Fun Saturday evening. Kid-friendliness: Great kids menu
This place has a fantastic view of Kamloops. Summer outdoor patio would be great. Good service. Squash ravioli was fantastic. Dietary restrictions: Online menu detailed clearly the dietary restrictions and options.
The wine was not good so they let us taste 2 others, which were also not good. We chose a bottle which we knew would be good. The food was not good, Margherita pizza was off, the tomato sauce tasted sour. The dry ribs were just that, dry with heavy seasoning that did nothing but make them not good. They need some salt to bring flavour out. The restaurant had very few customers which is a sign that the food is not good. We did not eat the pizza but they could not take it off the bill because they had already taken off the first glass of wine that we did not drink. We will never come back.
Fries were cold (crazy air flow in the middle of winter lol) I wouldnt order the fish and chips again, but my Hubbys tacos were great. Our waitress was delightful.
Omg I could go on forever. This is our new favorite place. Our waitress was amazing, Rylea, definitely request her section. We definitely spend more than other restaurants but could easily stay within a budget 20-30 but we enjoy for hours trying their gorgeous drinks and visiting. Last time we shockingly spent 6 hrs and it was am amazing night out. You must order the tower of youre there to indulge. Vegetarian options: My friends and I easily order all vegetarian options just because they are so amazing Kid-friendliness: I have not brought children but iv seen families in. Theres a good amount of space that you dont find often in restaurants. Makes it comfortable for families and adults
We were staying in a hotel down the road and booked here before we left the UK. Romeo s is attached to a hotel but caters to non-residents so I recommend booking before visiting. The view from the restaurant overlooks the mountains back towards Highway 5, however, due to wildfires, it was quite hazy. Starters wise, the menu is quite small so we shared a cheesy naan bread which was lovely and hot. There was plenty for the two of us. For our mains, we ordered the turkey club panini so we were expecting a rectangular toasted bread sandwich. What we got was an elaborate toasted sandwich (per the menu it is listed as a panini but the description states loaf these are 2 completely different things). The listing aside, the panini was very nice, the ingredients went well together and the portion size was good. For drinks, I tried the Gin flight which, at $16, was a great way to try local gins. If you are staying nearby, I do recommend Romeo s. Just remember to book. Total bill with tips $121, £73
Had our ladies Christmas get-together here today. Everything was perfect. Their Caesar salad was different and delicious. Dietary restrictions: Very accommodating
Amazing food quality
Me and my husband had a lovely time .we book the igloo it was so worth it.Food was delicious we enjoyed. Would definitely come again
Went for the Christmas buffet food was awful. Was told kids 12 and under were 1.75 per year of age. Got charged full price for my 12 year old that was hungry and ate a little bit of salad and a bun. Was not happy about being charged 45 dollars for it and restaurant would not fix it. Waitress was there for the conversation about she wasn t that hungry but it was one going to be $20 and it was not. Turkey was packaged and was rubbery. Potato s tasted packaged, vegetable was mushy and over cooked. One of the salads was good and the roast beef was good but overall was one of the worst meals I have had out in a long time and then being overcharge and after the restaurant would fix it I would never go back. I would have just got my daughter a kids meal if I knew they were charging me at full price. So disappointed that no one has customer service anymore as she told me and confirmed she was only 20 dollars when I ordered. I would not recommend this restaurant to any one.
I really enjoyed our dinner here. I had the lamb and my wife had the new york steak. Accompanied with my favourite beer the crannog backhand of God made the meal that much better. The service was great! There s a beautiful view of the river from the restaurant.
Been here twice and really enjoyed the food, atmosphere and service.
All good
Amazing food
Never had a bad meal! The white peach sangria is deadly and super refreshing. Staff are always friendly and attentive, atmosphere is super nice. Next time we want to try one of the domes on the patio.
fantastic service, wonderful food, great prices, and lovely environment. Will definately return. Wheelchair accessibility: i use a walking cane and had an easy time navigating the table and restaurant.
Really good no complaints
The quality of this kitchen and its fare are top notch and it tastes so fabulous! I had the Moroccan chickpea soup, an outstanding chicken burger and the house side salad with roasted bèets, cashews and goat cheese...and great service!
Food is always excellent - especially love the breakfast/brunch menu. Good service, good atmosphere, and surprisingly reasonably priced. Love this place.
The food is fairly good but the Moroccon dip is a standout on the menu, we enjoyed it. We booked one of the igloos for dinner, our server was lovely. Margarita was unpalatable, way too salty and sour so neither of us touched it but not a huge issue. Ideally I would have given 4 stars but a major negative for me was people smoking on the patio right outside of the igloo just a few feet away. The smell of cigarette smoke was wafting into the igloo while we ate. I assume this isnt something they are encouraged to do but nobody told them otherwise. One group was about to smoke but decided to leave after they saw us and another party having our meals. I understand that some may be from out of town considering the hotel and have different regulations but it really needs to be enforced.
Horrible service, we came in a group and let the server know we had to be back for a conference at 1. She served us extremely slowly, with half the group getting our food 20 minutes later, even though we ordered at the same time. She was not helpful or very apologetic at all, with some of us not even having time to eat our meal. The meal itself was overpriced and bland.
Much as I wanted to be on the nice list because its Christmas season, I have to be honest about my dining experience tonight. It was such a frustration and let down for me and my girl friend because we ordered Sockeye Salmon. Guess what? Its so dry and hard in fact when I was cutting it with my fork, a few pieces jumped out of the plate. Wasnt salmon suppose to be moist and tender and I know the baking time wouldnt even reach 10 mins most especially its a thin cut. Its like eating salmon that was frozen . Then last month our group of 7 came also for dinner and ordered the lamb and it was so tender but gosh it was soupy andreally thin liquid. It would have been nice to have a thick sauce just like the other restaurants do such as Brownstone. I dont think we will give another try anytime soon.
Incredible. I was blown away at how good this place is. Started with a Smoked Old Fashioned, quickly ordered a second. This was the best whiskey cocktail I have ever had. No joke, man! My server Lindsay was so polite, prompt and professional. She mentioned the kitchen was serving a 45 day dry aged ribeye! I had to try it. The steak came with Boursin cheese Mashed Potato, grilled broccolini, steak topped with a delicious Chimmichuri which was so nicely balanced in flavor. The steak was incredible. Very tender. Worth every penny. Tried the lemon white chocolate tart, presentation was pretty, tart was delicious. Thank you Lindsay for taking good care of your guests! Give that girl a raise. Seriously. DAY 2 I came back for more smoked old fashioned action. Ended up trying the Meat Pizza and the Pekoe cider. Jodi was serving me at the bar. Had some really good conversation and a great time. She mentioned the Pekoe cider is a hit with some of the staff, so I went for it. Kind of like sweet iced tea and cider in equal parts. Very refreshing. Cool product. The Meat Pizza was delicious, and full of toppings, especially Bacon.. we all love bacon. Tried the Pot du Creme for dessert today, very good. At $8 for desserts, this is quite a value. I love this place. Right now, Im back for Brunch. Eggs Benny just showed up looking awesome. Ill be back again. Update number 3.. I got a room at the coast hotel just so I could come back one more time before leaving town. End of the night, pretty much at last call. Grabbed two Heineken, the Brussles Sprouts and the Moroccan dip appys. I scarfed down the food so fast because I didnt want to camp out at the end of the workday. Server dude was solid. The Moroccan dip was delicious. An aromatic chickpea and tomato hot chutney, very tasty. I see its on the brunch menu. Thatd be good, the Moroccan breakfast. Anyway, yeah, the Brussles Sprouts!!! *runs around like the ultimate warrior in wwf back in the 80s* SO GOOD! I need to buy the menu designer a beer. What do me and The Terminator have in common? Ill be back.
Despite being a busy Friday night the service was great and food was incredible. Really the best dining experience in Kamloops.
My brisket tasted good, but I was put off by the price of the meal ($35) and the fact that it was just a meat dish incomplete without a side. If you want a side of vegetables you have to pay an additional $7. My boyfriend had the chicken thighs and thought it tasted decent but was surprised (as a former chef himself) they didn t bother to deboned it or take out the hip. The high price without vegetable sides are the reason we won t return. We get that restaurants need to make money, but it felt like nickel and diming. We had a more reasonably priced steak dinner at Sun Peaks for half the price (including vegetables and a Ceasar salad appetizer).
