151 Victoria St, Kamloops, BC V2C 1Z4, Canada
Family owned cozy breakfast spot, serving an elevated breakfast & lunch menu with specialty coffees and cocktails.
So delicious and service was awesome. The chef even came out to ask how our meal was! Super impressed and will definitely be back. Also, try their homemade hot sauce and we highly recommend the the smoked salmon Benny!
Amazing brunch restaurant. Everything on the menu is delicious most esp the Apple Crumble Waffle. We keep coming back to this place. The best in Kamloops handsdown
Very cute place to have brunch with the girls, amazing server but not the best food in town. We were also expecting for the mimosas to be served in flutes but we were served mimosas in shot glasses which was a bit disappointing. The food I will rate a 2.5/5, there were no seasoning, basically very blend. But again the atmosphere in general not too bad.
Wonderful brunch! A must visit for breakfast with delicious choices! Friendly staff and cool decor.
Went for the first time the other day with my sister, when we first walked in the atmosphere was cozy and welcoming. The staff are excellent and genuinely which is hard to come by nowadays, the food was phenomenal! I'm sad I didn't take any pictures because the presentation was gorgeous and tasted even better! We tried the mimosas and I have to say the peach was my favourite, I had the meat lovers Benny and it's was to die for! I'll be dreaming about it till my next visit!
Chose The Chook for breakfast as I had eaten at their sister restaurant Peter’s Pasta 2 night previous. Excellent choice - interesting menu - fabulous decor, terrific service and all around great experience. I had the spring roll scrambled egg dish. Perfect portion and very flavourful. Coffee was excellent (too many hotel room coffees during the week). Thank you for a lovely experience. Highly recommend.
This is my new favorite breakfast location in town. It's awesome. Meat lovers Eggs Benedict is so good
I loved this cute little place. The server was very responsive and was literally running around to get us things we need. Kids got crayons and coloring sheet. Hence they were set. I loved their avocado toast. It was quite loaded and yumm. My kid loved the homemade milk bread toast. Their coffee tasted heavenly too. Their vibes, food taste, everything was very cool. Loved it. Look for their interesting board in the restroom. It will definitely bring a smile on your face.. :)
Couldnt wait to start eating these Breakfast Springhills!
Awesome food. Great quality and had no problem making it gluten free and dairy free.
Rude staff
As a person who is not that fond of breakfast foods, I thoroughly enjoyed the food here. The hollandaise sauce was amazing and I was pleasantly surprised with their breakfast spring rolls. The atmosphere was nice but loud. Overwll a great experience
Thought it was a great place to eat. Everyone was super friendly and the food was great!! Would definitely go back again.
What a delightful find this turned out to be. The atmosphere of being welcomed. The staff, all of them, were so polite and willing to see to our every need. The servings were well plated with care, the food fresh and delicious. You will not be disappointed.
Smoked salmon eggs Benedict and the homemade bacon were to die for. Excellent brunch
Delicious brunch, friendly service
Delicious food , Love the breakfast menu , and the aura of place .
Pro: beautiful location with a brick wall inside. Delicious side of potatoes. Con: the only coffee available is nespresso. This was a surprise for what seems like a up-market place, not having proper coffee. Felt tacky and cheap. Maybe just inflation but the price doesnt match the quality of food. A little disappointed overall.
The best place to get breakfast in kamloops.
The Chook is located at the sleepy end of Victoria Street, and at the last minute we remembered it was there. We dined in for a late brunch. We were seated immediately, the room was semi full, and the food people were eating looked great. There was great music playing, bright beautiful renovated heritage building. We were served quickly and by a very friendly server (name missing! Sorry!). We ordered the breakfast croissant with house duck fried hashbrowns, and the breakfast egg rolls. I ordered an americano, My coffee came, it was hot and freshly made (nespresso). Absolutely hit the mark. Then the food beautifully presented, and upon tasting totally delicious! It s fresh, house made, and flavoured properly. The eggrolls are crispy and served with a dish of the best house made hollandaise (I dare say bearnaise because we detected some beautiful tarragon reduction). My croissant was delicious, house aioli, perfect medium cooked egg and the hashbrowns were money . NOT deep fried thankyou! Fresh scallions garnished duck fat sautéed delicious. Kamloops, we have a treasure here! This is just the tip of the iceberg for us with the Chook but we can t wait to return and we both said we actually might try Peter s Pasta again with this showing from the new owners. Thankyou for a wonderful, impromptu visit to your restaurant thankyou for bringing the modern in the now food experience to Kamloops. Parking: It s probably challenging most days, but we went Saturday morning after the market and had no problem.
Had brunch there this morning for the first time. I had the croissant breakfast sandwich and enjoyed every bite. Very cozy atmosphere and friendly service as well.
I went for a quick lunch alone. They let me sit wherever I wanted (which was a quiet booth at the back). Very quick service. Ice cold water! And did you know they make most everything from scratch? Like their fresh baked croissants, and the best bacon I ve ever tasted! I ve only been once, but I ll be back, for certain.
Great food!
Had the meat lovers eggs benny- absolutely amazing and now the best Ive had to date! Hubby had the lamb shakshuka but for $22, sadly was more appy sized and lacking in much lamb. He had to eat more once we got home as he was still hungry. My meal was $19 and well worth it but I had 3x the amount of food than he did. He said it tasted good but not worth that fee, and needed more carbs than just the 2 tiny slices of bread. But the service was great, atmosphere is beautiful with modern styling! Will be back for sure and have to order a bigger meal for the hubby.
I ordered breakfast tacos with pulled pork amazing me and dad also got there soup well first my dad ordered a soup I said no but when his came I instantly changed my mind it was 9/10, also we just drank water but they have there own bottles water comes in cool shape old style bottle.
We stopped by The Chook Eatery on our way from Sun Peaks. The atmosphere and music is great. There is a wide selection of beverages. The menu is comprised of a variety of brunch classics that are prepared perfectly! Vegetarian options: Be sure to ask for vegetarian potatoes as the regular version is prepared in duck fat. There are options to choose from in the menu!
Jaime was terrific! Definitely coming back soon
Came here for the first time and our server Kaitlyn was amazing! The food was also delicious. Safe to say we will be returning :)
Great food, service, drinks, and food choices.
Absolutely amazing dining, very nice owners & delicious food
Was really looking forward to trying this place. Was super disappointed with the food. Cute and trendy and service was fine but the food was a let down. Smaller portions and just not up to standards taste wise. Kids menu has three items only and rest of Menu was all egg forward which sucks for people who don t eat eggs.
The restaurant is very cute and clean. The service was not great for our small group. A couple mishaps on our servers end, and she was not that friendly from the moment we walked in. The food was pretty mediocre and the potatoes, pork and Hollandaise sauce were quite bland. Although, the mimosas were good.
The food was very very good. Fantastic atmosphere. The sevice was truly over the top. Thank you Kaitlyn! you were amazing! Food : 5/5 |
Honest review, love the restaurant itself, nice layout, good atmosphere, good service. The menu is lacking a bit for a breakfast place, they should have a traditional eggs, meat, hash browns/toast item. Call it what you will but everyone loves a standard breakfast. I had the breakfast poutine... 2/5 would not order again, they served it in a small cast iron pan, which I love, but the pan itself was room temperature so my breakfast was cold, the only thing that was warm was the eggs which were good but the poutine only comes with one egg I had to order and pay for a second egg. The pulled pork was good and tasty but cold, the hash browns were okay, but again cold, the hollandaise sauce wasnt great, kind of bland maybe it would have been better if it was warm. I will go again, but I definitely will expect more from the kitchen.
Our first time at Chook and it made us sorry we haven t come sooner! Food was delicious, service by Kaitlyn was friendly and helpful, food arrived quickly. We shared a meat lovers Benny which was amazing! Everything is made with love and care and food made with love always tastes better. Mostly local ingredients and made from scratch. Then we shared the peanut butter French toast. I m actually not a fan of a PB and banana flavour profile but this won me over! As with the Benny, the flavours are so delicious and well balanced. Food texture is important to me and both dishes had a variety of textures. It s also great to support a locally owned family business. Highly recommended and we will be back again soon! Sorry, food was so good we forgot to take photos!
Fast and friendly service They offer a beautiful and warm environment to enjoy. The staff are welcoming and friendly. The food was delicious . I had the bbq pork waffles. The pork was juicy and flavourful and the waffles were fluffy. I also had the peachy mimosa and highly recommend. Will be back to be trying all the menu items as they all look amazing and delicious. They also have amazing specialty coffees. If u haven t been. Don t walk, run Dietary restrictions: Able to adjust and remove toppings to menu Parking: Street parking
Fantastic brunch, highly recommend this spot Food was delicious and we will be back!
Soooo Good! The perfect brunch place! We absolutely loved our brunch. We tried the Omelette and the Breakfast Tacos, both were delicious and perfectly portioned. The space has been designed to a high level reminiscent of those little gem cafes found in large cities. We really love that they source almost everything from local businesses, not to mention Red Bridge Distilling! Stop in, grab some delicious food and enjoy a locally crafted cocktail! Can t wait to return and work our way through the menu!
Best breakfast joint Ive ever been to. Great food, great atmosphere.
Amazing food and exceptional service!! Will definitely be back.
This is a great new addition to Kamloops. Situated right next to Peter s Pasta, the restaurant is cosy with very friendly service. They service a quaint brunch menu and have numerous drinks. Delicious food that is beautifully presented. Highly recommended!
A great new place to go for breakfast or brunch the staff were amazing and very freindly service was excellent and the food was awesome we will be going back soon.
We went for lunch today. I had the corn beef sandwich and my wife the lamb shakshuka. Both were excellent, and the peach tea mimosa was amazing. We will be back again
Best new breakfast spot in town! Both the breakfast spring roll and bbq pork waffles were so unique and delicious. Can t wait to come back and try other items on the menu! Coffee was delicious, service was excellent, interior decor has a nice vibe and the service was very quick despite how busy they were!
Excellent service, great food and lovely atmosphere!
Absolutely fantastic experience, I just went for my very first time today and it is now my favourite brunch place to go to, from the entrance all the way to the exit it was absolutely incredible, the food is a great price and is super tasty and displayed beautifully Austraia our server was super informative and nice to all of us and always made sure we were doing well with our food and drinks. Will definitely be coming back very very soon great job chook!! Parking: Downtown so hard to find parking sometimes but at the right time is super simple
WOW!! This is exactly what Kamloops needed. The food is incredible, the staff and service is amazing. I love the husband and wife team too! Thanks for the great experience, well be back soon (PSA Order the Breakfast spring rolls, theyre to die for!)
Great food, super quick, everyone had good vibes! A little loud, felt a little close to others to actually talk, but it is a smaller space.
Amazing all around. Great food, great staff, great service. This place does not disappoint!
I am a pretty decent cook when l apply myself. Breakfast foods are one of my favourites to both make and eat! But l must be honest after try both waffles at The Chook Eatery they left me obsessed. There is no question these guys have mastered the waffle recipe! Not only were they pillowy light, they were also perfectly doughy. It seriously was the best waffle l have every had! They have spoiled me from ever eating another waffle elsewhere again, l had no idea they could be that good! Serious Bucket List Eating! P.S. l am at home trying to crack that code in my own kitchen now.
Excellent brunch/lunch spot, just what Kamloops needed. Great for kids and adults wonderful atmosphere and service is excellent. The owners are lovely people who are passionate about what they do, we loved it will be back soon!
Perfect breakfast!
What a fun menu! These owners never fail with good service and good food. If you like good coffee with your meal, it s here.
This place took no less than 10 mins to make the food the staff was so helpful and was ever so kind, my favourite brunch place I ve been to by far definitely will be coming again
Absolutely amazing delicious food. Highly recommend it. Next time I go I want to try the breakfast spring rolls, they look awesome
Visiting from out of town last week and stopped in for lunch. Beautifully cozy space with warm and prompt service. It was hard to choose from this menu, but I have to say the egg rolls, the beef sandwich and the hot sauce was to die for! Everything is priced well so what more can you ask for?!
Great Room, great service and the food is excellent. Our new go to brunch spot :)
Love this restaurant, my brother and I stopped in, hoping for vegan options, I had the vegan omelet, it was great, well definitely be back, our new favorite place! Hopefully theyll have vegan hollandaise or vegan french toast soon!
This is Kamloops best brunch spot! The entire menu is curated to perfection. I have officially tried every menu item & love them all. The atmosphere is bright, happy and inviting. This place is untoppable ! Food : 5/5
We decided to check this place out during our last trip to Kamloops. Excellent brunch, great atmosphere, and friendly staff. Highly recommend the pulled pork and waffles.
By far the most delicious brunch Ive had. The pulled pork waffles and Chook burger is next level amazing! Barrys passion for cooking reflects in the quality of his food. The restaurant has a beautiful interior designed by the owner which makes for a very welcoming atmosphere. Ps. Their hotsauce is a much try!
Best place in the town for breakfast and lunch with perfect ambience and wonderful service . Must visit
Beautiful place. Beautiful menu. Beautiful food. Beautiful people. Stayed in Kamloops for one evening, went to Peter s Pasta next door - their sister restaurant - and Chook Eatery for breakfast, both lovely. Can t recommend enough!
Fantastic culinary experience! Delicious food, wonderful service and great vibe!
Amazing food! And hot sauce! Must try. New favourite place!
Delicious food from scratch. Outstanding service. Comfortable seating with a nice vibe. Reasonable fair prices for great quality food and friendly staff. Super clean and fresh. Just go try it, you wont be disappointed. We definitely will return.
Amazing always! Great service and great food
Wasn t welcomed by the server. Racially profiled. What a shame
