This restaurant clearly has no understanding of customer service. I had stopped taking orders from them because of their constant delays and disrespectful behavior, but this time, the order appeared under the name Brownies by the Pound instead of Columbia Diner, and I unfortunately accepted it. As a delivery driver, I ended up waiting more than thirty minutes for the food. The staff acted as if it was completely normal for me to wait that long, expecting me to stay silent and not voice any complaints. Their behavior was rude and dismissive, with no apology for the delay. True customer service means respecting all customers equally, including delivery drivers, not just putting on a show for dine-in customers. I hope they learn the true values of Canadian hospitality and treat everyone with respect.

Today we had a fantastic experience at this diner. This restaurant is extremely clean and welcoming, with great views, and friendly staff. We will definitely come back. Thank you for the great experience and hospitality.

Heading through from Vernon to Vancouver and stopped here for the first time. Spectacular view of Kamloops, great diner-style food, and our server, Valeriia was amazing.

Meals were bland. I ordered my chicken nashville and it was mainly just oily, no spice. Waffle was tasty but pretty flat. The steak skillet was awful, unseasoned potatoes, tough steak, no cheese, no onions or peppers - blech. Dishes had nothing to jazz them up, no garnish whatsoever except for some sprinkles of green on the benny. Wouldnt come back or recommend. Restuarant is clean and cute decor, server was lovely.

Food was so bland literally not even salt. Tasted like soggy cardboard, the potatoes were literally just boiled and wet, absolutely no flavour. Hollandaise was watery and cold. Had to dump hot sauce and ketchup and extra salt for it to even be edible. Definitely don t recommend the brunch here. Maybe their other stuff is good but holy will not be doing that again.

The view is cool but the food and service was disappointing. Ordered the Huevos rancheros and it was cold. I was concerned it was sitting out so asked if it was meant to be cold and was told that the sausage and eggs are cooked then mixed with cold veggies. Not sure why you would use ice cold veggies instead of cooking them with the other components. Then was told I should read the menu closer next time. If the menu said meat and eggs served ice cold I wouldnt have ordered it. Definitely wont be returning.

This place has been renovated ( it has been a VERY long time since my last visit) it has a fun beachy atmosphere, and a liquor license. Our Server, a tall dark haired lady with a European accent, was warm and helpful. Burgers, sandwiches, sides and great milkshakes! The bathroom is bit of a journey... Would go again.

I had just come to the hotel and they were closing in 20 minutes with graciousness and a warm welcoming they served me as if they were staying open. I didn t feel rushed or in their way. The waiter was excellent and once I realized they were closing and took my order to go they were helpful and kind! Thank you so much! It was in a great re-useable bag and the food was excellent!

Well there really are no details to state the breakfast which was an avocado breakfast was oddly I believe powdered eggs Holiday sauce is not real. I had broccoli soup with a toasted sandwich was still white. Don t think it was toasted. Just could ve been old. Won t be coming back ever !! Seriously people I can t believe anybody said anything anything good about this place?

What a Hidden Gem!!! I love everything about this place I just had the most delicious Huevos Rancheros this end of the Continent( second only to Costa Rica) in my view. My server Dhe was a lovely young woman, cheerful and very efficient. ALL that AND a fantastic double shot Cafe Con Leche. It was so delicious I wanted to order a second meal. I grew up in and around Kamloops in the 70 & 80s. Back then when this hotel and restaurant was the Dome Motor Inn. After a few hit and misses in Kamloops, (resorting to big box restaurant chains) what a pleasure to step into the bright spacious room. Renovated to take advantage of its unique dome shape and fantastic wide open view, over looking Kamloops and the North Thompson Valley. The space is impeccably clean, fresh and modern. There is plenty of comfortable seating, booths, space for large groups while preserving the iconic 50 s diner feel. I will be back soon

For a first time dining it was definitely good, would recommend for dinner even with picky eaters. Only complaint is the speed but its understandable for the people in there at the time, and the interior didnt have a lot for design

The hashbrown and fries portions have diminished in size by a lot. If you dont ask for extras or are drinking a lot you will leave hungry, but the food is delicious and the service is excellent. Kathy is my favourite person in the world and she deserves all the love

Very cool nice and very good

Tuesdays early evening, special price meals and margaritas are a good deal. We had a large group of women, and the staff did a very good job considering the number of people in the restaurant. Also a good job of keeping track of the billing.

Great service, I was the only one outside and was never ignored. Habanero hot chicken burger was delicious and it was such a treat to come with curly fries. They even brought out ice cream for my pup. Thanks will be back :)

We have only been here 2 times on a Sunday for the wing special omg sooo tasty you can tell that the wing sauce is made from scratch. They are even so thoughtful to supply wet naps for the sticky wing fingers you experience. The first time our service and food was on point and made us want to return. So here we are again the following Sunday and this time we had the owners serve us what great down to earth people they are. Our next time coming here we are going to have to definitely branch out for the other menu items including their delicious looking milkshakes 100% recommend this place to stop and eat at. Fantastic view and fine atmosphere. 5 stars all the way

We meet every Tuesday morning for a net working meeting and Columbia Street Diner is very accommodating! Food is always great as is presentation.

Our server was Bharath, he was exceptional. So kind, so helpful, and so lovely to spend an evening with. The food was good, drinks were good, the view was as great and Bharath more than exceeded our expectations. Will visit again!

Asked for stack of pancakes off menu. Told them wanted strawberries on it, was told it comes with a mixture of fruit. When I got the stack it only had a gob of raspberry jam in the middle with a couple gobs whipping cream. Awful!!!

I chose here to have my moms celebration of life because my mom worked here back in the 70s-80s as a server and she didnt want anything fancy. The owners and servers were amazing they even made a drink special that day named after my mother they were so accommodating and I couldnt have been happier with them especially on such a difficult day. Their food was great and they were very friendly. Thank you again for everything on what was a very hard day. My family appreciates you

Not exactly gourmet but it was very good food. Love the atmosphere it is nice and airy and was quiet. Didn t feel rushed so was a great place to go if you re visiting with people. Dietary restrictions: Celiac approved for the Nachos.

Second time here. My first experience was awesome. My burger this time was super amazing. However my girlfriend s burger, the patty was considerably smaller than before. There was more bacon than burger. Gravy definitely needs some work too. Overall still good, but my girlfriends burger was definitely not worth $20.

New years day breakfast. Started relaxed and pleasant. I want to rate it higher. The dinner is cool with a 50s vibe. The food was good. The server was either learning or a bit lost this day. Everything was ok until the manager or owner came in. Then the music exploded, and the first song was Barbie Girl by Aqua. Super loud. We asked it to be turned down, and perhaps the station changed to something different. Note: we were one of two tables in the restaurant at the time. He turned it down a fraction. The washrooms are located downstairs in the hotel. Not clean and no paper towels. Let the front desk know, and he just turned and disappeared. Strange. Once in the parking lot, the music was even louder outside. Would hate to have a room facing the parking lot. Overall, food and design are good. Simple fixes for improvement. Might try it again one day.

This restaurant offers great deals on Tuesdays. I very much enjoy their southwest salad and my friends always have good things to say about their burgers and fries and chicken strips. And then theres the margaritas. Food

Delicious food and great service! We ordered the fried chicken and the jalapeno smash burger. Both were super flavourful and cooked perfectly. The fried chicken was especially good, it was super juicy, the chicken was really flavourful and the batter was light and crispy. Definitely recommend.

It tastes good, the price is not expensive, and the waiters are friendly and sincerely recommend it.

Brutal service, half the meals came cooked wrong, half the orders came out and the other half came when everyone was done eating. Ended up just taking my order to go after sitting there watching everyone eat, finish and pay. Table sat down 15-20 minutes after us and got their food before half our table. I would give the benefit of the doubt, but there was literally 3 tables..

The view was lovely, and the staff were great. The smash burger tasted similar to what i could have gotten from a fast food chain though.

Waiter was amazing, very friendly and personable. Came in on a Sunday morning for breakfast and there were 3 tables besides us, waited over an hour for two meals. The table that came in 30 minutes after us got their meal, paid, and left all before we got our meal! When the food did arrive, we were rather disappointed with both the quality and the quantity.

Ive had breakfast there and first of all i love the view of the restaurant has over the river Ive had a dish called garden and it was very tasty The service was really good as the waitress was quite the friendly lady Although the food took a while to be there Otherwise a fairly pleasant experience

Such a cute little diner, so under rated I can t believe more people don t know about this place. Had the eggs bennys and they were so yummy! And the atmosphere was so lovely. It s like a 50 s inspired diner with lots of pastels and a beautiful view. The misfiring is perfect so you don t feel over stimulated and makes for a super relaxing experience. We had the best time there. Would highly recommend anyone to go there!

Not the worst. Personally, im not a fan of being asked 3 times if i want beer or something else even after saying no each time. overall service was too anxious..burger it self was ok, sweet pickles should not be on a beef burger in my opinion, and the curly fries were ... Pretty average.

Very disappointed for my first time going there. Yesterday we went for brunch, it was a bit busy so we knew it would take time.....we sat and chatted drinking our coffee, 40 minutes went by and the food finally showed up....but as soon as the waitress set down the plates, my girl noticed that there was an ant on her plate!!! So we had enough, the only thing the waitress could say was sorry .....not a good experience and highly doubt we will go again. We did contact the manager, she apologized and said next meal is on her, but not sure we will take her up on it

A few more items for vegetarians would be awesome, as we found the menu very small. The food was alright, it didnt blow us away. The nachos were small and didnt have much on top. Fries were typical frozen curly fries. Atmosphere was really nice and clean. Server was excellent and friendly.

Circular building with the worst acoustics, ear deafening atmosphere when diners are all talking at once. Nothing outstanding on menu so for dinner we had two options from the all day breakfast. Staff were friendly.

My family and I shared a great dinner at the Diner last night. Love the Pub style menu, something for everyone. They were willing to make garlic toast when it was not on the menu. The large attractive room has been newly renovated and it is very clean. The service was great both times Ive been there, very friendly. The only down-side to this place is that nobody knows that it is open! It looks closed from the street. A great big open sign, newly renovated, would go a long way in getting customers in there, Id hate to see it go under just because everyone thinks it is closed--we wondered when we drove up. Well be back!

VERY tasty food!!!! The waiter was very accommodating and friendly. I had the most amazing grilled cheese and homemade tomato soup, and my friend had bacon and eggs, at 5:30 pm!!!

Stopped for a couple burgers on the way through Kamloops. Double double and crispy chicken, both were quality and absolutely delicious. Thank you!

Menu took 15 minutes to reach the table, burger was inedible and everything was under seasoned, and clearly prepackaged. Prices way too high for what it is. Server was nice enough, but spent all her time conversing with the two other tables instead of bringing us the bill so we could get out and not come back.

The food was average and greasy the waitress was polite but halfway through our meal the chef comes to our table threatening us because our dog opened the window and escaped our vehicle while it was on dog mode for them and he said that he would call the spca on us because we had our dogs in the car. Vegetarian options: Needs more vegetarian options

Heard good things about them so called them to ask about tiffin service my manager will call you with the details . I waited to hear back from them but they never called me and did not respond to my email. Finally and unfortunately picked my sample tiffin. I couldn t figure out what I was eating. So, I called them to ask about which got further transferred to Supervisor to ask what it is. The front staff is untrained and doesn t know anything. The sample tiffin was missing rice and the food was tasteless. Didn t like the service. I will not recommend this place.

Prices are extremely high, there is no reason for fries to be over $16 a plate. Pop is about $5 a can, wow Food

The place is very nice. The design is gorgeous and the panoramic view of the Kamloops is amazing. The food though is very mediocre. By the looks of the place and a menu you d think that the food is of somehow special, BUT don t get your hopes up. We ordered a sandwich, long dog, and a burger. It tasted like they use cheep ingredients. Come for a coffee, or a milkshake, but no more. The service was very good, though.

Got the classic eggs Benny and it was absolutely delicious! My husband got the habanero chicken burger and he said it was one of the best burgers hes ever had. And they have a dog friendly patio (always a win in our books). Would highly recommend.

This is my new favourite burger spot in town! I highly recommend the Double Double and the Dirty Fries, and eat in. The view and seating layout are top notch.

Got the Double double with some friends along with the Breakfast Bun (Forgot the name) and it was great. Absolutely worth trying despite the price. Service was also great !

This diner was more upscale than I was expecting. The staff is amazing, and the views are beautiful. Food was pretty good. Prices are on the high side but I would still come back if I were in town again.

Bennies were weird, but we still enjoyed them. Im not sure what the ingredient was, but something was different. Service was very good and fast, very friendly, they even cooked an add on side plain patty for our dog. We would definitely go back when passing thru again.

Service was good, I was alone and the place was dead so there was no need for slow service. Good taste was satisfactory. I thought the portions was to small. Will try again and see how it is. In my opinion so these restaurants charging $20 for a basic burger is insane. But thats life now.

This place does everything right and it makes it look effortless. The food is fresh. the menu has something for everyone with modern takes on classics. It s also perfectly prepped. The happy hour food is really cheap quality. I have to raise my hand to ask for things as they didnt do check backs. They waiter said its 50% off on everything for happy hour. When we got our bill, we were surprised our bill was not all discounted all. The waiter said except for it. Salad is too dry, chicken tasted like its frozen. For grilled cheese, they used the cheap ones.

I was very impressed with this Diner. It was very clean and the service was excellent. the menu wasnt big but covers all options. We had the most amazing French toast I have ever had. We will definitely be returning and telling friend!!

These people at The Columbia Diner made our Birthday get together a wonderful and memorable experience. They were beyond accommodating. The staff were helpful, friendly and just plain fantastic. Birthday party reso 11:00 AM on a Sunday for 30+ people and these fantastic people were the only ones accepting resos in Kamloops???? Oh and did I mention .... the service and food was impecable with lots of laughs!!!

Took 30 mins for them to take order. And another 30 mins for food to arrive. A couple beside me left before their meal arrived because of delays.

Decent food, ok service, daily weekday happy hour where food is cheaper which was a bonus.

We came in on a whim, we sat on the patio and enjoyed the fall yet summer like weather. We ordered the chicken and waffles and a burger and fries. The taste of the chicken and waffles was very good, but the whole dish was lacking. The waffles were soggy and obviously not freshly made. The chicken was moist but the crunch lacking as the dish seemed that is was reheated in a microwave. The burger was so thin it was barely there. For the prices vs portion sizes it was not worth the stop. Also plating should he rethought if youre plating small potions. The plates were rather large. We wont be back.

So Tuesday is $2 for tacos and $3 for margaritas!! Not only is the price amazing they are top quality delights the tacos have fresh pico the margaritas are huge and rimmed. They have peach,lime, or strawberry and beef and chicken tacos. My favourite is the beef taco and peach margarita, for $5 total I was so impressed oh and bonus the place is very nicely decorated and designed, I ve also had breakfast here and was very happy. You definitely should check this place out

We went there for our breakfast on Friday morning as we were visiting the town for the weekend. There was only 1 server running everywhere. She was taking phone calls, seating greeting and serving tables and everything. I don t have anything negative about her as she was alone there without any help. Diner got fairly busy too. She did clean tables to accommodate another customer s request as they wanted the window booth. We waited long time for a coffee refill and jam for my toast and hot sauce never came. Poorly managed.

Mixed feelings on this place - the main reason for so low of a review is the expensive up charges they do - $5 to upgrade to a Caesar salad & $5 extra for vegetarian burgers. Food was good overall and it is pretty in there but I d choose somewhere else next time due to pricing

We visited the diner for the very first time. Immediately we were welcomed and seated. The food was good and fairly priced. What impressed us the most was the fabulous service we received from our server Mukat. She was so warm and friendly and extremely attentive. Food was good. Was an error with one item but server and manager handled it amazing . Server was hustling her butt with being the only one serving she did amazing.

I wouldnt eat here again if my life depended on it. Absolute shiet.
