Wow - good Cantonese food! They are one of the very few Cantonese style restaurants in Kanata-Stittsville that serve more authentic-leaning Cantonese food and they do it well. Many dishes are as good as the dishes served at the Cantonese Chinese restaurants on Merivale rd. A major good sign is their beef with flat rice noodles and bean sprouts (gon chow ngau ho 乾炒牛河) is good. The noodles have that wok hei, possibly better than the other Cantonese restaurants that are not Canadian Chinese. They are very kind and it’s easy to communicate with them. Singapore noodles were very good and the Bbq pork in it was good. By default has no eggs. Good taste from the curry powder. Flat rice noodles with beef and bean sprouts (gong cau nau ho). As good as the other authentic Chinese restaurants. You can taste some wok hei. The beef is flavourful and tender. Sweet and sour pork was good. A lot of meat, not too much fat. Tender meat. Next time I’ll try the black bean rice noodles. The bbq pork and broccoli was good. I want expecting tender bbq that had that nice sweet flavour so I was pleasantly surprised. Usually certain restaurants do not serve fresh bbq pork. Update August 2024: Their delivery process is simple: call them and put the order in and you can pay by credit card when the delivery person arrives. Delivery person is very warm and professional. Food delivered hot and took 30-45 mins. I ordered black bean rice noodles and they were good! The beef was tender. Rice noodles with bean sprouts is better. The sweet and sour pork was crispy. Singapore noodles were very good and the chicken in the dish was tender. Mapo tofu has a black bean flavour and comes with shrimp and charsiu as well as ground pork.
Ordered today, absolutely delicious, amazing ginger chicken is fabulous and the egg rolls are yummy!!! Will order again for sure! Fast, hot delivery. Update!! Ordered again and wow, even better, huge portions, enough for 2 meals, love it all and fast, friendly service!! A real Gem in Kanata!!!
First review ever: I'm so impressed by the customer service. Once we got home from picking up our order, we noticed a dish was missing. We called and they hand delivered the missing dish. It was delish and we are so thankful the situation was rectified so quickly. We'll definitely be ordering from there again soon! Happy new year!
The meal was $71.00 plus I tipped the driver $5.00 so for $71.00 do you think 4 X egg rolls, 2 mediocre main dishes and a small portion of beef fried rice is worth it, don't think so! The vegetables in the ginger beef was under cooked, too much batter, too sweet, not enough beef and feels like you're just eating a tampura mixture more than anything. The sauce for the curry chicken is too loose and they should've used some corn starch to thicken the sauce so it clings to the food. The beef fried rice was very high in sodium just like the other 2 dishes but my question is why didn't you simply add some green onions and some bean sprouts to liven up the dish. I asked the delivery guy and said straight out "The portion looks small" and he's like, No, It's actually good portions but it wasn't. The portion of the beef fried rice is also very small and you can only feed 2 people with that amount with zero left overs for the next day. I'm new to Kanata but so far haven't found a place worth reordering and when you're paying this kind of money, why are you people rating this food so bloody high??? I should've stuck with Jack Astor's to order but wanted to try something new. I use to order from New Hong Kong off Woodroofe Ave. where their flavors was good but when it comes to portions and proteins they will destroy anyone in Ottawa! Sometimes you wonder if they're making any money because when you order ginger geef or curry chicken there's no batter in the ginger beef, it's super tender and proteins for both and all of their dishes will embrarass these guys and other Chinese restaurants. Owners, I hope you'll read this review to it's fullest and start changing some of your dishes to add flavors and give people more proteins in these dishes and at the same time, use less batter and cut your proteins thicker so people won't doubt ordering from you after they read my reviews! Your ginger beef barely had any beef and was laced with more onions, celery and just alot of batter coating the paper thin beef!
We been ordering here for a few years now, my brother is a big fan! The combo plates are good to try different things. Like the General Tao and crispy beef. Can’t have the egg rolls as they contain pork but the egg rolls are great! Family run in Kanata and hasn’t disappointed yet!
Have ordered from here many times and have been happy with my past orders. Ordered the Beef and Broccoli and it was basically just steamed broccoli with a few pieces of beef. Not even flavoured with sauce just sitting in a pool of salty water. I called to enquire about the order and the response was disappointing. $13 for basically steamed broccoli wasn't what I expected.
We ordered from Dragon Fortune Delight for the first time tonight and we were so pleased with our meals. The food was delivered in an hour which we expected but it was very warm and so tasty. We loved plates the food comes in. The portions are huge and the price was right. We will be ordering again, thats for sure.

The food was good, the portions were on the smaller side. I am mostly disappointed with the unusually large quantity of onions in my main dishes especially the chicken curry order contained very few pieces of chicken. It s difficult to justify the price for the portion of food given.
We recently moved to the area and tried Dragon Fortune Delight for the first time and we were delighted! The premise is very clean, the people I dealt with seemed genuinely friendly, service was quick and the food was wonderful! The vegetables were perfectly crisp, coating on chicken was very crisp as well and the flavours were excellent. Thank you and I wish you continued success!
Kind family business in Kanata, tasty Chinese takeout, good communication & open late which is a big plus for me considering I eat late. I ordered a combo, a soup & a general Tao chicken order for $46 total which is good price. They even added a few fortune cookies & an egg roll which was a very nice surprise. Containers were full. Tummies were also full and happy. Thanks for making a boring Friday night exciting :) see you again soon!

#21. Szechuan Beef for16.90 was so disappointing. there were 3 pieces of meat. I have always enjoyed the food here but this dish my God, how do I only get 3 pieces of meat. The rest of my order was tasty and enjoyable. just cant understand the lack of meat in #21- To bad Vegetarian options: order #21 there is no meat in it. lol
Great food! Have tried several Chinese restaurants in Kanata and Dragon Fortune Delight is the best. Ordered Combo #8 and deep fried chicken wings. Everything was fresh and delicious. Generous portions too. Will order from them again. Feb. 23, 2023: Update - ordered from Dragon Fortune Delight again and overall loved the high quality food. We ordered Chicken & Broccoli, Bacon Foo Young, General Taos Chicken and Rice Noodle with Beef and Black Bean Sauce. It was all very, very tasty and big portions. My favourite was the Chicken & Brocolli so fresh, super tender sliced chicken breast meat and a nice light sauce not greasy at all. This is definitely my favourite Chinese restaurant in Kanata.
This place has really gone down hill. It use to be so fresh and yummy! Now its a total waste of money!! I wish I could post a picture of what our food looked like! Totally disgusting!!!!

We were looking for a new Chinese food place after our favorite closed. We gave this place a shot after craving some classic Chinese food. It was great! Fresh, hot and delicious. We will definitely be back.
Disappointing combo plate - Imperial shrimp literally had 2 small pieces of shrimp and the rest was celery and liquid. The Hunan beef maybe had 3 small pieces of beef and the rest was pepper and sauce/liquid. The guy who answers the phone was lovely and apologetic and passed me to the owner. The owner was rushed, rude, and extremely unhelpful. She repeatedly said that shes busy and doesnt have time to talk to me and was unwilling to replace the dish. Its unfortunate to lose a customer over something thats so easily fixable. Will never be ordering from there again!

Listen, the food is good, the staff are generally friendly, but unfortunately tonight has left a bit of a sour taste. Im no idiot, I know its Christmas Eve, which is why we ordered at 4:30pm expecting a long wait. We were told 2-2.5 hours. No issues at all with that. However, we got a call at 6:45pm informing us it would be another hour... that left us no choice but to cancel our order and try and do anything we could at home when we were busy getting things together for our kids Christmas. Not sure what else to say, but had to say something. Merry Christmas everyone!
DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE!! Has gone downhill. I have been ordering from here for about 8 years and last time I ordered girl on phone was super rude. Food was horrible chicken was bad and Cantonese chow mein had hardly any noodles. Called them to let them know as I thought they would care about their business and owner (women) on phone laughed at me. Not getting my money. Go to Welcome back in Bells Corners. Way better!
Best Chinese food in Kanata and possibly all of Ottawa. Friendly efficient service, always feel welcomed and important. Superb wonton soup and every order has soy sauce versus Mandarin that cant include even when asked. If you want to support local business this is the place to get your take out. Enjoy

Ordered from them tonight, 2 # 3s and 4 extra egg rolls and called them because the food was completely tasteless. I spoke with the Manager/ Owner who said and I quote well we are very busy and no one else call about food so sorry Will NEVER order from here again and I will make sure to tell EVERYONE I know NOT to buy from them. Extremely pathetic customer service or remorse. I guess busy is an acceptable excuse!
Customers complaining about tasteless food may want to be tested for covid before dragging a business on reviews.
May 23, 2022 - phoned to make an order delivery to Kanata. Our power was out so I attempted to make an order. The person on the phone told me no delivery because the power was out and it may take an hour. I said that was fine because I called early, she then told me not delivering because the lights are out. Then hung up on me. I thought since the power was out they would like business. I give this place 0 stars for costumer service.

A bit hit or miss. I ve recently moved nearby and decided to try them out. They have wonderful egg rolls and great fried rice. I really liked the fact they had ginger beef, which is pretty hard to find in Ottawa. However the general tso chicken was by far the worst I have ever had. Try something else.

Just around the corner of my house.. Best dishes I love.. - Signapore Noodles. - Crispy Ginger beef. - Shrimp and Black bean sauce. - BBQ Pork with crispy tofu. Lovely family that works so hard . Kudos for keeping the neigbouthood thriving with great Asian fare.
We order from this takeout place at least once or twice a month for the past 15 years. Weve never had any problems and the food is always so delicious and flavourful! Their egg rolls and egg noodles are especially tasty!! Thank you for the wonderful and quick service ;)

Wonderful, family-run restaurant. They have amazing egg-rolls, beef with black bean sauce (my personal fave) and their ginger beef is the best in the city! The quality of both the food and service have been very consistent throughout the years. The delivery guy is very skinny though, he should probably eat more delicious beef!

Solid Chinese option
My husband and I ordered (delivery or pick up) many times from this Chinese restaurant in Bridlewood. We never had a bad experience. Are we lucky or does our taste buds getting less perceptive as we are getting older? I dont know, but we always been satisfied with our food. The portions are generous and the price is reasonable. The only thing we dont like is the fried rice. Its missing something. The owners are very friendly and welcoming, they take their time to describe the dish when we asked what it is. It is important to us that not only is the food good but also the people who operate the establishment. Finally, they really take care of their patrons, they are very careful when they pack the food, every dishes containing sauces that could spill are individually packed in a plastic bag. I dont know how many times we have received a messy bag of food when ordering from other restaurants, definitely not the case with Dragon Fortune Delight!!!

Father s Day treat, just had Dragon Fortune Delight for dinner. The best Chinese food I have had in a long time! The egg rolls were awesome the spareribs had lots of meat no fat and all the other dishes had great flavour. This is 100% our new go to.
Been ordering for a long time and recently for the past 2 orders my plate is basically 80 percent canned water chestnut , and if any chicken it tast like couple of days old. Sadly I think I am done with this place and the bigger problem is that we dont have any other Chinese food near our area

By far the best and my favorite chinese take out place! In my opinion they have the best egg rolls! And their almond cookies are made in house and just incredibly! I also love thr fact that they give you the option to have any two items in a combination plate instead of only having the options thats predetermined Staff is always friendly. Highly recommend.

Very good food but too expensive
Maybe not 5 stars, although better than 4. I normally get the general tso chicken with egg rolls and its quite good. The general tso chicken isnt coated with sauce when you get it, its poured into the pan and you have to coat some of it yourself, however I find that it keeps the chicken crispier. I also think the lady at the front desk is really nice and I can tell she really cares about the quality of food you receive.
I have explored the menu and enjoy every meal. Delicious 5 star Chinese food. customer service is a+. My favorite meals are Singapore noodles and the egg rolls. A+ all around.

Ordered the combination plate #1 and was severely disappointed. The chicken balls had a very strange metallic taste to them. They were also all soggy because they were drowned in sweet and sour sauce. The chicken fried rice was very sweet for some reason and didn t taste like anything. The garlic ribs were alright though, as was the spring roll but the plum sauce that came with it tasted very faint and strange. All in all really disappointing especially after I paid $20 after all the delivery fees and everything. Would not eat here again.

Ordered meal for 6 on Christmas Eve to be delivered for 5:45pm. I thought it would be appropriate to order the food at 4:15pm to give the restaurant plenty of time for the requested 5:45pm delivery time, respecting the busy time that would be Christmas Eve. As the food showed up at 4:40, an hour before our family was to arrive, I paid my bill of over $100 and understood it was no fault of the delivery gentleman himself. I placed a phone call to the restaurant only to receive a response of they are too busy to deal with the mistake. After the blame had been placed on us as patrons, we were told to place the food in the oven and it will taste the same. Spending over $100 and being told they are too busy to deal with their mistake is frustrating and has turned us off of Dragon Fortune Delight in the future. Take responsibility, busy is good, learn to accommodate it!
Not sure why there are negative reviews, this place has THE BEST take out in Ottawa with large portions and great value. I have tried many around the city, but this one trumps them all.

Not impressed with their general taos chicken. One bite missing from a $14 container of food and they refused to give us our money back stating there was nothing wrong with it.Wont be eating there again after literally throwing $14 in the garbage.
