5104 Kanata Ave., Kanata, ON K2T 1H5, Canada
We will open during Christmas and New year Holidays Chinese restaurant. Our new location is 5104 Kanata ave unit 8.
Our first time ordering. Food was deliciously seasoned. Nice n fresh. Definitely want to try some of the rest of the menu. For Chinese style food in Kanata, I've tried the rest, this one's the best.
When we went to here back from a long trip, it was just past their close time a little bit. But they still took my order, the chef also cooked delicious food for us. Recommend the dish of stir fry beef rice noodles. 😋
Looks to be a small family-owned place. The combo menu is a fairly good deal but could use a bit more meat in proportion to the rice. The pork shiu mai was a good size for the price. Everything tasted great. I would definitely come back if I'm in the area.
In a hurry, just needed a quick take-out, ordered 'dinner for 3 A'. Expected 'okay', got excellent. From the soup to the fried rice it was hands down best I've had in a very long time. Beef and veg: delicious; wonton and egg roll fillings delicious and unique. Even the plum sauce was perfect sweetness and spicy. A delightful surprise and we'll be back for a sit down and broader sample of the menu.
Best Chinese food in the west end. My family and I go regularly now. It’s a local family business where the food is delicious and the prices are great. I always crave their green beans with minced pork and deep fried garlic ribs. They are my favourite green beans across the hundreds of Chinese restaurants that I have been to.
It’s my first time ordering here as it is Ubereats most top rated restaurants. I would say that for $20 it’s expensive, small portion and very salty too. Not really the fried rice that I expected. The ingredients is basically just rice, soy sauce, 1 egg and a lil bit of chicken. Thai express have a better looking and tasting fried rice I would say. It’s cheap and it’s pretty good serving.
A tentative 4 star because I only tried the fried rice noodles 干炒牛河 with beef so far. Not bad, the people around the table liked it, not too oily. Couldn't really taste the wok hei but acceptable. Looking forward to trying their other dishes. The price could be cheaper in general but Harbin around the same area was even more expensive. About some other reviewers' comments about the service, realize that it's a family run Chinese restaurant. Service is efficient and abrupt, you go for the food and not a smile or chit chat.
Review from December 2023: new restaurant location near the Kowloon Market. The interior is completely different and clean. Small note: This is a Cantonese restaurant not Canadian Chinese food, although there are some dishes that are westernized that I would recommend too. - Spring rolls are good. - sweet and sour pork was good. Tender. - Black bean rice noodles with beef are probably the best in Kanata Stittsville. Better than Rideau restaurant that closed down, Café Orient. Maybe better than Ng’s on Merivale. I have finally found a good restaurant with Xi Jiu Nau Ho! - They have dimsum all day except a few items like har gow (steamed shrimp dumpling) and dan tat (egg tart) that is also served until 2pm. The pricing was fine in the restaurant and the service was good and efficient. I will return to try more dishes. Old review from 2019: Tender pepper beef -good. Pepper salt porkchops - Tasted good... but not as good as the shrimp. Steamed shrimp balls (3) - very good! Cantonese noodles - very good! Lots of tender chicken, broccoli, bbq pork, etc... Pepper salt shrimp - best in town. Didn't have shells and the taste of the batter is delicious!
Food is very good but the price is a little to high for my liking
The food is great
The people who work here are so rude i will suggest never go there its not a good place to go not hygienic so bad zero recommendations it should be closed soon they misbehaved with me when i asked them to use washroom
Food is excellent. Service is great! Very small , very few tables, so best to reserve a table. Love the beef with ginger and onions.
This restaurant was recommended by my colleague. I love the salt and pepper prawns and egg tofu. They taste great!
Went there after they opened for few weeks. Small restaurant and food was not good. Small portion.
Decent, nothing special, nothing bad. Truly middle of the line average (takeout).
The food isnt matching my taste!
Order 3 dishes, 1 was average, the other 2 were Bad, I even dumped 1 dish after a few bites.
The boss added a tip of 10 yuan to the total price without our knowledge. If we didnt think there was something wrong with the amount, we wouldnt have noticed that we were forced to tip.
Horrible wait time horrible wait times
Prices have gone up significantly. Black pepper beef is decent, but chow mein is slimy, and noodles taste stale.
Highlyyyyyyy recommend Jade Yi s for authentic Chinese food in Kanata, and honestly worth the drive out to the west end! We prefer dine in, our favs are the rice noodle with beef in black bean sauce, stuffed tofu with shrimp, salt and pepper shrimp, but EVERYTHING we ve tried has been a hit! Food
Out of the six dishes our party ordered only three were actually done right. The chicken curry was full of uncooked potatoes, the dish with broccoli had uncooked broccoli. The egg rolls were too salty I almost couldnt eat them. Additionally when they are cooking the entire restaurant is so hot its almost Asana so our group wanted to end our meal and leave as quickly as possible. It was a surprising disappointment for everyone
We went in on Sunday lunch time, they didn t allow us dine in but take out only. Impatiently explaining they were busy but there were still empty tables. This place is not customer friendly
My first ever experience with Jade Yi kitchen tonight! I must say I was rather disappointed with the experience. The food was priced quite high in my opinion, for example one egg roll was $2.80, with no bundling option if you purchase a half dozen or dozen etc. The chicken fried rice was mostly just rice, it did not seem as though there was much substance (chicken/veggies) in it. Flavour was OK, I really enjoyed the sweet&sour chicken with pineapples! I am upset that my order was missing one item, a simple container of steamed white rice. Overall, I won t be ordering here again. But appreciate dinner being cooked by someone other than me this evening !!
A lovely small dining area with excellent service. It appears to be run by delightful family who made every effort to make us welcome.
Looks like a small family owned restaurant. The small dining area and food was just ok. Nothing special, just ok.
The place is small, but clean and always busy. The food is delicious. My 4 year old calls this her favorite vegetable restaurant, so that speaks volumes. When a child eats almost only vegetables instead of the other, also delicious, stuff, thats a win.
Lots of favourites, very well done, and you get your moneys worth! Definitely our local go-to.
Kind of monopoly in the area. Food and price is reasonable. Love their fish with black beans sauce.
We ve never tasted actual Chinese food until we ordered delivery from Jade Yi s for new year s dinner. We can t wait to dine in!
We ve ordered here a few times and are never disappointed! The food is great and being able to order on time is super convenient (and always on time).
Ordered kung po chicken and hunyan chicken. Kung po chicken has no peanuts :( Food was little bland the dish with carrot seems like a boiled chicken dish. Food
Best Chinese food I have ever had in Ottawa. Finally!
Food decent, and portions generous. When I went there was no dine-in, and certain menu items were unavailable. There used to be complementary rice, but I think thats now discontinued. Parking: Parking lot outside. Wheelchair accessibility: On ground floor.
Got a tip that a good Chinese food restaurant opened in kanata and Im pleased to say it met my expectations. Service was nice and friendly. Maybe they could improve the ambience with some music but just nitpicking.
Food is just too yummy.. good quantity and their shrimp salt n pepper is something u all must try
Dear friends, I am writing this review because I am obliged to do so as a citizen. I went to this place and found everything disappointing. For example: The staff are unprofessional, disgruntled and disrespectful. I just want to let these people know that customers are like guests in our houses. So how do we treat our guests? I believe we treat them with a genuine smile, respect, enthusiasm and a positive attitude. If we dont, we will surely lose their friendship. Right? I dont understand why they behave like this? It is a very big question mark for me. Customers can make or break your business. So, I wont go to this place again and I wont recommend it to others either.
We ordered two number 1 combinations. Very good food! Will definitely be back.
Delicious
We were a large table (6 people) and had chosen to eat in. Takeout was incredibly busy. We had a great experience. Food was amazing! Hot and fresh. Service was wonderful. Highly recommend this hidden gem.
We ordered takeout online after seeing a show in the city to pick up on the way home. It was ready when we got there, piping hot and fresh. Everything stayed crispy and hot for the 30 mins drive home from the restaurant. We got vegetarian spring rolls and rice, shrimp balls, egg and straw mush soup, beef and Chinese broccoli, Cantonese chow mein, and chicken balls. They included plum and sweet & sour sauces for the chicken (and they were very good versions of these sauces in my opinion). I thought the prices and portions were great. 100% recommend. *An extra star for the staff calling a couple hours later to let me know Id been accidentally overcharged by ten dollars due to my online ordering error and they offered to refund me or apply a credit to my number. So kind. Vegetarian options: They have a generous vegetarian section of the menu and my kids loved the veggie fried rice. Parking: Has its own lot for parking. Wheelchair accessibility: Fully accessible.
Ordered dinner when we were in town for a hockey game. Delivery was right on time, food was really good, egg rolls were amazing. Would definitely order from them again.
They have the best stir-fried rice noodle with beef in town.
They make the tastiest food (try the fried rice noodle with beef) and with good price too! Highly recommended!
Best siu mai Ive ever had. Great flavours, generous portions, good selection.
One of my favorite take out restaurants. Helped us go through the pandemic, and we keep returning. Food is very tasty. Definitely recommend!
We have been eating at Jade yu for years when they were at the Beaverbrook. Today we order a take out fried beef noodles from this new location the first time. Very tasty and quick service.
Typically had been driving to Somerset for these types of dishes so am delighted to have tried Jade Yi for the first time this evening. The price was good, the food tasted great, and the location for me is super convenient.
Little expensive, food was so so, but Sea King is way better.
Absolutely amazing, the food is really good and the customer service is amazing.
Authentic Chinese food, delicious, highly recommended to everyone, will visit often
Food was too pricy, the taste, the outlook didn t match with the image on their menu. The price was even different from their several paper menus. and no proper customer service at all. Really disappointed and not recommended .
The new location brings great customer experience. The food is great as it has always been. Being in Kowloon plaza provides so much convenience and synergy. Recommending to all Kanata/Stitsville/Carp Chinese food lovers.
I really wanted to like this place but unfortunately I did not. Incredibly expensive for such small serving sizes. They forgot a rice I ordered but I didnt go back as I was already at home. Food really wasnt good at all. The chow mein tasted weirdly fishy, the general tso chicken was soggy and way too spicy, chicken balls soggy. Egg rolls were good. I know its not just me, my boys love Chinese food and they wouldnt eat anything except for the steamed rice. 5 dishes $71. Not with it at all sorry.
Food was tasty but way too salty. Young girl server was sullen. She did not look like she was enjoying the job. Curt and no smiles. Will not go back.
Food is good but the price for dim sum too high. The place too small for friends gathering without privacy. I still like the old place before.
Amazing food, definitely came for seconds! Their pork spring rolls are the best.
Too pricey
The chicken fried rice hits different it s soooooooooooo good
Best thing in the plaza must get NOW!!!!
Had lunch here today. Food was OK. The rice was a bit bland, chicken balls not bad and the beef with mixed veggies way too salty. $50 for two combo plates a bit pricey. Much better places around town. Dont expect much in the way of customer service.
Fried rice looks like someones first home made attempt. I think this place may get better but right now its pretty amateur.
We got the general tao chicken, beef with Chinese broccoli, shrimp dim sum and pork dim sum +2 rice portions. Everything was nice a and tasty. The chicken was seasoned pretty well and was my favorite. The dim sums were not small, filled nicely with lots of protein and tasted amazing when dipped in the generals tao thick sauce. The portions were more than enough. It was 2 adults and 2 kids and we got some food back home with us. Prices are also very competitive. The service is fast and looks like a family run business, simple way of ordering and serving, no nonsense. Good job The menu is large so it can be quite challenging picking your dish. Will go again.
Hot the Beef with Chinese broccoli and really liked it. Meat was tender, broccoli was crunchy.
Everything was so fresh and delicious. Our new favourite Chinese restaurant
Great Dim Sum and service was good.. just too bad it s so fregging dirty. They had two of their kids eating at the reception area instead of passing a broom maybe ?? Clean the door windows (yuck) the restaurant windows ?? Windex is not expensive !! Food
At this restaurant I find genuine Chinese foods. Taste great and price is reasonable. Nice service with family atmosphere.
Revisiting this restaurant didn t disappoint me when trying other items on the menu. Will definitely come back!
We ordered takeout last Sunday around noon. The food was fresh, delicious and hot! And no MSG Also the size of portion and price was VERY reasonable. We will definitely be ordering again. Dietary restrictions: We had someone who could not have MSG so we we ordered without.. Everything was so delicious.
Best Chinese food, very clean and friendly
Have ordered take-out twice from Jade Yis Kitchen after having it a few times at a relatives home. Always delicious and generous portions. Won ton soup is excellent. I recommend the dinner-for-six, either spicy or not, which features chicken and shrimp dishes, or you can ask for beef, pork, and fish as well. Also lots of vegetarian options. Delivery was fast and friendly. Think you will be hard to find? Not so. Impressive ability to find the customer and deliver the food quickly!
Really disappointed with the food... The $18 fried rice has nothing in it, and it tasted weird. If you want to advertise it as a house special, you should make it special... My bf thinks theres definitely something missing in the dish and I think its $18 missing.... The rice bowl comes with the dim sum or the veggies I ordered (not sure which one) was basically not edible... Bad quality rice and not fresh. You might wanna think about the rice and oil you use for your dishes... Those are not the rice you expect to eat in a Chinese restaurant. Over priced food, kinda rude service, I really dont know where those 4 stars reviews came from... Not coming back.
Great food
Great wonton soup, and had some Cantonese style noodles with a chicken. Fried rice, all delicious and fast service. Try them out!!!!
I thought the previous reviews indicated quality of this restaurants food. Nope, likely the worst Chinese takeout - bar none. The General Tao and Beef with vegetables were inedible. Terrible! The only reason I gave it 1 star is the only way to give it a review. The restaurant itself is filthy and had I known that, prior to ordering I would not have ordered. Overpriced and lousy is my go desription to on this restaurant. Wasted $57!
Small portions. But good food.
Delicious, quick and fast. Such nice people!! Highly recommend
Honestly very good taste. One of the most authentic Chinese food place. The only problem is the quantity to price ratio not too sustainable for my wallet
We were from out of town. Asked for cutlery and plates and the receptionist said they dont have but gave us a couple of chopsticks. Good thing we dont have to eat with our hands. The food was so so. Chicken fried rice and stir fry chinese broccoli with garlic were tasteless. The young Asian female cashier/receptionist was unfriendly and rude. The place is dirty. Not recommended.
On Aug 15/22, checked out their website, which showed dine-in, take out and delivery. If they had updated to show take out or delivery, my friend and I would not gone. When I mentioned that to the staff, she said no dine in till later and argued the website was up to date.
Great to be back for in restaurant service. My go to place for dim sum. Very good har gau, and pan fried dumplings. Always enjoy the hospitality of this family run restaurant, and look forward to my next meal at Jade Yi!
Quality of food is very poor. Don t waste your money on this place. Has fallen off since previous years. Won t be ordering from here again.
Went for dimsum, Food was pretty meh. Too pricy for the quantities given
Looks like not much of a place, but food is great, portions are generous!
Great chinese food but a little renovation is needed
First time ordering, I was expecting a good dinner after the prices and details of the menu. Fried rice is not fired at all, with rice with few frozen vegetables, a micr settle ochic, plus two small shrimps. No taste, no flavour, no meats. The Chow Mein is a small portion with very little meat being a $17 dish, and Chop Suey are literally only bean sprouts. So sad that Kanata community has to settle with this expensive-low-quality-food restaurants. Very dissatisfied.
Tried this restaurant coz our usual Chinese rwas closed. And am I glad that we found this gem. We couldnt find the dish we were looking for on the menu but upon explaining on the phone the chef was able to prepare it exactly the way we wanted. Very very yummy food with amazing taste. The spring rolls both vege and schezwan beef are amazing. The plum sauce is out of this world. It is home made and tastes fresh and deeeeelicious.
Hot, fresh, tasty chinese food. Friendly staff. We usually order combo plates, which include a close ended egg roll, and add open ended eggs rolls, s&s chicken balls and fried rice for leftovers the next day. Can order online, pick a time and pickup in store. Easy peasy.
Garlic fried green beans, braised eggplant and General Tsos chicken. All delicious!
Amazing authentic food. Have been going here for years. We used to drive all the way from Kanata to Ogilvie Rd for Chinese takeout before finding this gem. Favourites are their Salt and Pepper Pork Chops, Satay Beef Chow Mein and their green beans with spicy pork.
Pricey but good food
Very poor service and manager offered no compensation for her driver delivering COLD food. Senseless. It might have been good if it had been hot. Driver sat in his car for 35 to 40 minutes. I shouldnt have paid it. Such a disappointment. But ......
Excellent portion sizes and prices. I had the combo with Kung Pao Chicken, fried rice and chicken balls and it was absolutely delicious. My only critique is that the rice was a little dry, but mixing in some of Kung Pao sauce fixed that perfectly.
Better than usual Chinese take out. They have a Chinese language menu so they probably have some more original Chinese fare.
First time customer. Now will be permanent. Was looking for a Chinese food place since I moved to Kanata. Close to me and the food was delicious! Forgot to take a photo but highly recommend.
Fast service. Good food! Hit the spot!
Sorry but I didn t like the shrimp fried rice: the shrimp is not cooked and the rice has no eggs or any other vegetables..
Stir-Fried Rice Noodles with Beef, fish filets in hot chili oil &sauce, spicy beef with bell paper. Taste good.
tastes good
Best Shanghai noodles in the Ottawa area along with sweet and sour chicken or pork. Anyone who misses Hakka Chinese food of Toronto this is the closest. And friendly service with great portions.
Great food!
Small family-owned place. Excellent food and service. So glad we found this place!
The food here was incredible!
Great food! Wonderful dim sum items! Less expensive then Harbin. Nice family run place!
Good food, big portions. Cantonese fried rice is very good here.
Delicious food at a decent price. Friendly staff. Decent wait times. Best to order out. Always has owners children running around the eating area which isnt an ideal dining experience.
One of the best Chinese takeouts in Ottawa. Great service, fresh ingredients and delicious flavours. Highly recommended.
Tried Jade Yi for dinner after our long time Chinese food takeout spot closed. Will be going back over and over again! Food was delicious, generous portions and friendly staff. Also important to note they ve made the restaurant very safe for picking up your food. Everything was contactless.
Great Chinese. Would definitely order again.
Excellent price, very friendly staff and waitresses, a buffet I would like to go back to often!
Amazing food!!! Definitely the best General Tao chicken in Kanata.
Best Chinese in Kanata
Classic 1970s Canadian Style Chinese food. Points for inventiveness using saran wrap as a Covid barrier
Good food , reasonably priced , nice friendly staff
Tasty!
I m sure the food is great but they don t deliver if you live over 8 minutes away so I guess I ll never know
Supper yummy and service was super quick!
Delicious
I do not know how this restaurant has 4 stars and i guess everyone in Ottawa likes to eat horrible food. As if the whole container of MSG and salt was dumped into the food and another container. Waste of my money. Lady on phone wasn t friendly. This is the worse i have ever eaten in my life but i guess there is not any better. Dumplings had no taste. Eggplant no taste just covered in sauce and fell apart. No taste and just sad. Stay away
Great food. Website could use a few more pictures and descriptions. If you liked the old Mandarin Court, youll eat well here. Moo She Pork and Lemon Chicken!
Great food and service. The owner is very friendly and helpful with food recommendations. Everything is tasty and the prices are great.
Great service and delicious food
Excellent food. Excellent price. Have not had a dish yet that wasnt piping hot and fresh
i find it hard to find a good Chinese food place, been to multiple places and they are all basically the same. So when we tried this place we honestly didnt have high hopes as usually there is one thing wrong in a multiple order. I was wrong, i truly think after 3+ yrs of looking we found our go to place. The food was great, even had left overs for the next day. I know people will say quantity does not equal quality, but the quality was very good. One note though, if you want delivery and youre 5 KM away, your minimum order needs to be $50 or more. This is not mentioned on their website or takeout menu. But that is so minor i am still giving a 5 star
Not a horrible place to eat but I find whenever I get a combo, the rice is never the same and everything is just soaked in sauce. I find those who eat in get much better service, than those who choose to eat out sadly.
Love the food here
I ordered take out, and asked to have low sodium and less oil, both dishes turns out to be quite good and like home cook meals, that is what I want.
Amazing food
Its not fancy but we went for the Dim Sum menu items and really enjoyed it. Ive been back three times now after discovering Jade Yis Kitchen a few months ago. Everyone in our group of four was happy with my choice of going back there again.
Nice place
Amazing food, Ive eaten here a number of times and its always great. Would have been 5 stars, but their fried rice isnt great. Its totally fine, but it seems a bit overcooked and is such a staple of the meal. Id still recommend this place to anyone, Ive never had a dish Ive been disappointed with.
Ordered delivery and waited 2.5 hours for food to get to me. When it showed up cold and I called to let them know and asked for some sort of compensation for waiting so long, they told me not to order from there if I wanted my food right away. The woman also called me back to insult my mom and told me not to come back, and then blamed her rudeness on her bad English... very strange way to run a business but will not be returning. Would not recommend.
Always enjoy the food, either take out or eat in.
Dining in was such a good experience, food wise. Ordered the Salt pepper shrimp, shanghai bokchoy & chicken fried rice, they were all very good. But when we ordered to pick-up before, the chicken guy ding immediately wasn t my fave, the garlic ribs were too sweet for me but the steamed dumplings were great.
Great spot for lunch in Kanata North!
Quick & easy, reasonable prices, good menu/selection, tastes good, decent portions. You probably want to do pickup or delivery though, as the seating area is a bit of a truck stop.
I went to this restaurant in the afternoon and had a big order. I asked the owner to write the name of the dish name on the box but she denied as it will take a lot of time. I ordered a soup and there was no spoon. She was so loud and was not ready to understand anything! The owner was so loud !!
I used to love this place, the food is great. However we made a large order over 100$ this evening and didnt get the small chicken fried rice. When we called we were told they dont run their website so they cant give it to us, because we didnt call. When we said we had ordered directly from them they still claimed that Ottawa lending owns the website. Then we were told thats why I sent you a menu which does say, free Chicken Fried with orders over 48$ before tax. Not sure what is going on, apparently this is Ottawa lendings fault, but I feel burned because Ive made positive reviews and told people personally how awesome Jade Yis Kitchen is. Im super disappointed. Do not order online. Order at your own risk, they are not willing to stand by their own advertising.
very nice Chinese food
Fast, friendly and good food
Great dumplings! Good value.
This is by far the best Chinese food around. Portions are generous and the staff are amazing. My favorite dish is the moo shu beef and the open ended egg rolls.
One of our favourite places. Selection is great, and always freshly made
Great food and quick delivery at competitive prices
Good family restaurant
Good food, great service.
Good food. Excellent service.
I grew up around authentic oriental cooking; the atmosphere and cooking at Jade Yi takes me back to the cozy authentic family-run establishments with which I am familiar. Would highly recommend staple dishes such as Yang Chow fried rice to really appreciate the high quality fundamentals. As a bonus, portion sizes and prices are very generous. Being able to order dim sum on the side is also a huge advantage! Its really obvious the owners put a lot of effort in their establishment. It certainly shows in many ways.
Food is good. Service is great! Dinning in you get large portion . Few times order take out the dishes was small compared when you dinning in. stopped ordering out and not happy with very small portion when paying not cheap.
Had takeout from here for the second time last night. Their portion sizes are excellent, their hot and sour soup is the best I have ever had, and their seasoning is perfectly nuanced for good Chinese dishes. Jade Yi is now my go to Chinese restaurant in Ottawa. Staff are incredibly friendly and always make my son smile and have a great time. I would definitely recommend to others!
Food is solid. When it gets busy for a lunch rush it can get a bit slow, but I suppose that is true for any restaurant. Their lunch specials are very affordable and good sized portions.
This is a nice little restaurant - exceedingly convenient for me so I could be a bit biased. Do try the wonton soup. For reasons I cant explain I find it wonderfully comforting and excellent on a cold night (or a hot one of Im feeling blue). Excellent egg rolls too. Mostly westernized fare but thats all i want in a reasonably priced Chinese food restaurant.
Delicious!
Its missing a few items Im used to seeing for Dim-Sum but the food is really good and the proprietors are very friendly. Ill being going back for sure.
Nice authentic family run restaurant. Little bit far away from the centre town but my parents love it here!
Beef with black bean sauce was the highlight of our dinner! Well be back.
Good food at reasonable price.
My girlfriend and I ordered based on the reviews. We were really disappointed with the taste of the food. The chicken rice and the chicken chow mein were 1 star, the general Tao was 2 stars, the sweet and sour chicken balls were 3 stars and the ribs 4 star.
Had dinner there with friends. Food average. Service is good. Sweet and sour pork dish very disappointed.
Food was great
This is by far my favourite Chinese food in Kanata. I love the cozy interior and the family running it is just awesome. The food is great, the beef is so tender and has so much flavour. I recommend the Szechuan beef
Amazing food. Everything is freshly cooked. The sauces are perfect. Amazing pepper beef -the best in town- and great chicken options. After many Chinese restaurants in Ottawa this is the best one. Even the tea is better than other places. The egg roles amazing too, and also the best ones in the last 20 years. I hope will it will keep the same amazing cooking for the years to come. Only minus, is not very clean, but with only one person it is understandable.
so good food
The food is prepared quickly and is delicious .
Food is fantastic Make sure to have a large enough dinner party to try several dishes
My favorite neighborhood Chinese place, the food is more authentic than most American Chinese places.
Good food
Nice little authentic Chinese restaurant hidden in a small strip mall in Kanata. We are big dim sum eaters and since New Fortune closed on Hazeldean Rd last year we ve been forced to drive downtown or to the east end for decent yum cha. Based on reading the reviews and pics we decided to give this place a try and we were pleasantly surprised. The restaurant is small, very humble looking, and you can tell the server is also the owner and cook. She was super busy taking care of everyone. You also have to be ok with her rambunctious little boy walking around the place keeping himself occupied lol. Food was served hot and fresh. The dumpling skin was soft, glutinous and the fill very good. The only criticism was that the tea was not very hot. We will definitely return.
good taste with reasonable price.
Probably one of the best chinese restaurants in Ottawa, Not great on the schechwan dishes but the cantonese is great. A nything in black bean sauce is terrific.
Egg rolls were pretty good. Everything else was extremely average to poor. Kung Pow Chicken was a 1 out of 10...terrible. We threw most of it away. General Tso was 5 out of 10. Chicken fried rice and chicken balls were 3 and 5 respectively. Wont be trying this place again.
Great dim sum.
Very rude lady and very cheap on plum sauce Trying to help on her English and kept to be very rude Kept on saying she not here as excuse to speak English Where is the customer is right no there Never going back
