They had great selection for Sunday brunch. Great staff very attentive and helpful.
Came on a rainy day before heading back to Toronto. The restaurant looked like a lobby area of a hotel which gives a welcoming atmosphere. It was slow and only 2 other tables along with ours. Overall, everything were decent, but more on a salty side (even I am a fan of salty food). We ordered the Salmon and it was small and dry like mentioned from another reviewer. Fish Tacos and wings are really good on the other hand. Only thing I would suggest is have the server paying a bit more attention to guests. We were the only table left and they are at the stage of pre closing (7pm and due to rain). We dont want them to wait on us so we wanted to go. We waved and called the server few times until we raised our voice more to get the attention.
I ordered the salmon. For $27 what I got was: a 1" wide trimming of salmon (I ordered medium but this was cooked past well done, more like you get in a can), two mini-potatoes cut in half, half an asparagus (from the tough wood-like end, not the tips), some toasted nuts, and some spinach leaves. The portion was smaller than a lot of appetizers. I bought two cheeseburgers from Mcdonalds afterwards, which I recommend ahead of this place.
2 adults and 1 child, $200 for a father's day buffet that was on par with a typical hotel Continental breakfast. Thanks, but never again.
This was by far the worst brunch I have ever been to. Many of the chafing dishes were empty and the rest were dried out and cold. One table with the charcuterie selection was pathetic and wasn't even equipped with the proper serving utensils. People around me just gave up and walked away. All in all the food was unappealing and tasteless, coffee was cold and the creamer had gone bad. This was Father's Day and a greater effort on their part would have been appreciated, especially at $52.95 per person. I will never take my family there again.
Attended Thanksgiving brunch. We had first sitting. The food was cold and tasteless. There was little to no imagination used in the menu for sure . If I were the Chef I would be embarrassed at what I prepared for my patrons paying $49.95 each. Worst buffet I have been to!
I have frequented the Ironstone Grill for years...1-2x a year usually in the summer months because of their amazing patio and good food. Today was the most disappointing visit ever. I ordered the classic burger described from their menu as a house-made burger patty, aged white cheddar cheese, house pickles, tomato, lettuce, remoulade sauce, Kaiser bun. What I got was a burger patty that looked like it sat in a warming drawer for 2+ hours with a slice of cheese on a Kaiser bun. No dressing at all. I sent it back, it came back dressed up with a loads of mayo. When I bit into it, I was disappointed - burger was warmish - not fresh off the grill and juicy and obviously not 'house made' and the Kaiser was from a few days ago. Server came to check in, she could tell I wasn't happy and sent the manager over to speak with me. The manager offered to have it remade, but we were on our way out so he removed it from the bill which was appreciated. I would have preferred to have got what I ordered. Atmosphere 10/10 Service 8/10 - the server worked hard to keep an 8. When the manager came to speak with me I appreciated that she recognized I wasn't happy and tried to do something. Food 3/10 for the burger. Others at the table were happy with their orders. My daughter gave the chicken tenders a 10/10 and my Mom gave the nacho's an A. I'll be back....and will confirm the description of the burger prior to ordering.
Recently went to Ironstone Grill for breakfast with my two kids. We were pleasantly surprised with the service and food at a great price. In fact, pretty much everything on the menu was under $10 which is an amazing price for breakfast. The portion sizes were very good. There were plenty of food on the plate for my boys to feel full at the end of the meal. All three of us were quite satisfied with our meal. Will definitely be going back.
Vegetarian options: Very limited Veg options and food was tasteless. Even after complaining about food they didn t do anything about it. Didn t eat the food we ordered here.if you are vegetarian just don t waste your time here. Friend of mine ordered non-veg items and its was also ok grade. So overall no recommendations for food here. Food
Good and friendly service. Went for new year day brunch. Food was nothing to brag about, was expecting a bit better. You got your usual brunch foods, but nothing special.
First time eating here, went for a Valentines dinner. $260 for 2 without drinks gets 4 courses: 1 - small charcuterie board that was thrown together and presented like you were making yourself a lazy 5 minute snack. 2 - over peppery mushroom soup which was also too oily and was separating or a big plate of old wilted arugula. 3 - the smallest and fattiest ossu buco youve seen in your life (maybe 3 bites of meat) served with undercooked rice and carrots (the only good thing from the whole meal) or cheese stuffed uncooked pasta (so uncooked it was inedible). 4 - a decent creme brule or a chocolate dessert that was so sweet a chocolate lover couldnt finish half of it. Took over 2 hours to serve the entire meal of basically 1 cooked course (about an 1h15m wait between course 2 and 3 itself). Pair that all with the restaurant ambience and charm that was about the same as a ski resort cafeteria and you have yourself a place you wish you never went to and certainly wont return to.
Wonderful Sunday brunch buffet for our family with kids in tow! Just a note to the mgmt, perhaps mention to your young staff that they shouldnt be hanging out chatting as a large group near the entrance and perhaps paying more attention to food items running low.
Beautiful venue, inexperienced servers
If you go on Sunday, they only have a brunch option up until 2 pm. While it was a good selection, arriving at 1 means youll be getting the left over, luke warm, clumpy food. And for the $35 price, its just not worth it in my mind...
What a beautiful restaurant. Didnt experience any golfing as I was in attendance for a work event. But wow what a place.
Good service but limited choices
One of my favourite hangout spots in non covid times. Looking forward to when Dueling Pianos returns post pandemic
Great local spot. My partner and I go here for casual dinners on the weekends. Would recommend if youre looking for a pleasant night out.
Nice open area for networking.
Great service and atmosphere!
Excellent Restaurant for a quick lunch at work.
Great place for lunch.
Breakfast off the snowmobile trail was tasty amd well priced.
Excellent sandwich and nice personal
Service was great.
The service was great, the atmosphere was perfect and the food was great. It was very reasonably priced too.
Very nice place with acceptable food.
Good service but the food is meh. There are lots of better options in the area for the same price point.
Good food, nice space. Id go back for sure.
Very good!
Food was good, Thursday evening with Duelling Pianos was fun, and very entertaining. Will be back.
Loves it
Service outstanding, food was very good, entertaining band with Dave Kalil..
Was there for a work lunch, and only ordered from the short menu. The Cobb salad that I ordered was a bit pale.
Beautiful patio with special event live music on our evening. The server was very friendly and accommodating. Thanks for a good evening!
Great place
Celebrated fathers day at the grill, beautiful spread of delicacies, the staff was very pleasant and added to the experience.
Its a relaxing place to have a nice dinner overlooking the golf course
Food and service on the deck just ok.
Excellent breakfast in nice atmosphere at good price.
Beautiful deck to enjoy a wonderful glass of wine with dear friends!
Lovely venue with great service.
Food was really good even if it was on the more expensive side. The location was really nice and the staff was very welcoming.
They were definitely overwhelmed. We waited 10 plus minutes at the hostess stand. Service was a little slow when we were seated but not to bad. The food was pretty good.
Well organize. Food delicious
Good food, reasonably priced. Nice golf course view .
Good service, good food. The high ceiling design of the clubhouse is quite appealing.
This is a great place to go for large groups! Do be aware that they will bring out your food as it is made (rather than for the entire table at once) unless you specify otherwise though, in case that is your preference. General 5/5: Atmosphere is fantastic and the restaurant hall is very very spacious. Decor is nice and is a quick commute from most of the Kanata high tech sector. Service 6/5 (haha!): Servers are all very friendly and pleasant. The service is usually quite quick, even for large groups. The only time I felt that it was a bit slow was when I saw 4 large groups arrive at the same time. One person at our table of 10 had to wait 45 minutes for their food, but drinks were served early and the server gave our ENTIRE TABLE half off because of the long wait before we even had a chance to complain. Food 4/5: Food is good (though not extraordinary)
Much too cold, there were several of us and we found the temperature of the room uncomfortable. The service is slow and seems to be bothering them. The food is good.
Food is good, reasonably priced. The wrap I ordered was too spicy for me so I ordered their clubhouse sandwich. The server was kind enough to not charge me for the wrap I ended up not eating.
The dishes were really salty, and I had to drink lots of water. The waitress was nice so I give this one more star. I asked my steak to be well done, with no pink. I got a steak with pinkness in the middle. I sent it back and it just came back more burnt on the outside and the pinkness inside was still the same. Wanted to give it back to be cooked again but then decided not to as I didnt want my steak to be a burnt, non edible mess. Almost everything was really salty. Would not recommend for people who dislike saltiness, and the burger was not good.
Good spot
Good food, really nice facility. With a sunny patio, shady veranda, warm fireplace and spacious interior there is something for everyone.
Date night special was excellent.
Decent food for a decent price
Good food.
Nice atmosphere, okay service
Visited the Ironstone Grill. The food was fresh and tasty but being gluten free can always pose a challenge. I ordered a gluten free pizza which I suspect wasnt really gluten free since about 2-3 hours later I had a reaction. To be fair, I was warned that some cross-contamination would occur since they use the same ovens for all pizzas. But I normally dont have a reaction with surface contact flour. I suspect it was possible the wrong crust was used. If you are Celiac you may want to reconsider eating elsewhere. #cider
Great evening - fabulous entertainment, great food & wonderful service.
waaaaaaay overpriced for what you get. Service was good
Nice quiet place, good food, good prices. Staff were very friendly.
Overpriced pub food.
Expensive so so food
5 stars goes to the kitchen and the delicious food they make. 3 stars goes to the fact that all their condiments are expired by a few months old. Service was bad last night and the waitress was unprofessional.
Sometimes service is very slow. Food is ok.
Great smoked meat sandwich
I have been here for lunch a few times with my office. The food is your average boring pub food, you can make anything on the menu at home and it would probably taste better. The wraps are terribly bland and just about everything is extremely overpriced for what you get. I only go here because my office likes to go to lunch there sometimes, otherwise I wouldnt.
Good quality offerings. Very nice establishment.
Excellent food, excellent service, and very reasonably priced for lunch. Would go back again!
Very nice and well maintained golf course
Decent
Expensive for what you get... If its your only choice, then go for it, but Beware if youre looking to get a cheap burger.
Really nice building. Getting married here soon and the wedding coordinator has made it a lot easier.
Decent breakfast options at a reasonable price.
Being my third work Christmas party at Marshes, I expected the venue to be overall as favourable as my previous experiences. Unfortunately it came up short this year. Entering into the restaurant, we are greeted by the nice ambiance as expected. To start out the evening, a Caesar seemed liked a good idea - but ended up being extremely watered down, tasteless, and served in a beer glass. After giving up halfway and switching to a beer that wasnt filled to the top, we were seated for dinner. The chicken was very dry and certainly a step down from the dinner of both previous years. Furthermore, my girlfriend was vegan and the staff came out and told her that they have no soup for her and she would have to wait until the next course. Couldnt you boil a tomato and call it vegan soup or something, really? It was noted well in advance. The desert was boring and tasteless, and somehow the soup (actually quite good) and caesar salad (three leaves of lettuce on a plate) took the prize for best courses. Moving on, throughout the whole evening the bartender was quite disconnected from the customers, not seeming to make any eye contact or even crack a smile. He seemed flustered the whole time and merely threw change on to the bar as he ran around looking lost and as if he could use another half dozen bartenders to help him. Overall, the service was lousy and the food was OK at best. Quite the step down from my previous two years. Two four-star experiences and one two-star experience makes me give Marshes a three so far. If there was a 2.5 I would have chosen that.
Youve got a major typo on your Home Page Marches???? :)
Great golf course
