I have been to Amaya buffet many times in my time in Kanata, and their food has been consistently delicious every time with some selections changing so there s variety. I just wish they didn t just have the buffet Friday to Sunday.

Overall the food and service is good at the Kanata location but recently we had a BAD experience with stale vegetables used in the dish we ordered. The restaurant doesnt acknowledge this as they feel their food quality is good.

I am working in Kanata and one of my friend suggest me this restaurant. every time (3 times) when I Oder food through UBER they guy always forgot cutlery and napkin. today when I call them to inform them, one girl received call and she was laughing instead of listing me. now I will never Oder any food from this restaurant. very bad service..!!

Best Indian buffet in surrounding areas and nice staffs ....

You should definitely remove hakka from your menu. Maggi noodles is not hakka, the chili chicken was soggy and tasted like it was left over from months. A complete waste of money for inedible food. Had to throw it all out. The response is an example of how restaurants dont really care about reviews if they have a few customers who enjoyed it. Perhaps I shouldnt have thrown it out and brought it back for the owners and chef to taste.

I was served frozen dahi barras when I ordered them.I have never been to this place ever since as it is very creepy and they serve frozen food. Not recommended at all.

We selected the buffet option. Most foods are more soup than meat. Butter chicken has no taste at all. Only the goat curry dish and naan are ok. The plates are not changed. Kids are charged with adult prices. But I still gave tips.

Thank you for a reliable Kanata icon being always there when we need a good dining experience. We went last night for their buffet and the staff was very polite and offered great service when we need anything. We have been eating here for years and never been let down. Well worth it and well be back again soon!

Tried their Mothers Day buffet... The food was cold.. Except for 1-2 dishes, most of the dishes taste below average and not fresh at all.. I have tried this restaurant few times now.. Both Breakfast and Lunch and so far I never had a good experience here... I think now, there are alot better options available in Ottawa and this place isnt worth at all.. This was out last visit here....

I tried out the restaurant on Mother s Day Buffet with a friend today for the first time, and we were both disappointed with the food and the taste is not satisfying since all their food were cold for some reason while the food trays were hot. Chicken biryani was awful, and their butter chicken does not even taste like real authentic butter chicken. Their garlic and butter naans are nothing special, just taste like plain naan. Overall, food quality is not that great since dishes lack freshness and flavor. I would recommend trying out a different eatery in Ottawa.

The food was nice, went there for Iftar buffet, the food was warm, not as pipping hot, but it was a buffet. The food was tasty, chicken was well cooked, lamb curry was nice, they had about 10 or so dishes, alot of chutney etc. Juices. Its definitely worth the price, very economical. Came here 2 times for Iftar this Ramadan. Food is phenomenal, both times food was fresh and naans were soft but also crispy. Definitely will be making it a hat trick before Ramadan ends inshallah. The staff is also very friendly! Huge s/o to the owners for bringing such a wonderful establishment to Ottawa!

Tandoori Chicken and Chilli Chicken were yummy Vegetarian options: Many Chaat and Main course options for vegetarians. Parking: Free parking in the plaza Kid-friendliness: Kids can enjoy a variety of flavors in the buffet.

Amazing food and great service. The restaurant was empty and the buffet was not on, so we almost left, but I m so glad we stayed. We ordered Thalis (both veg and non-veg) and they were awesome. Butter Chicken, perfect, Mali Kofta, perfect, Aloo Gobi, perfect, Chana Masala, perfect, Naan, delicious. We visited with three kids, staff were attentive and kind, kids loved the food and it made for a great night out.

Today was the first time I have tried them, especially after seeing their posts on Facebook page called ottawa halal eats for a while. Let me tell you, the food is fresh, service is great. Its never too easy to serve such a huge crowd especially during iftar time that too a buffet. But they did a good job. I liked everything, chicken biryani was good , chicken Tikka Masala. The only thing that needed a little more improvement was chili chicken some pieces were tasty, some were a little bland. But like I said its not easy to maintain consistency in a buffet especially during iftari time. Ill definitely be back again to try their other dishes too that are not on the buffet. But the buffet is definitely worth it! Would recommend this place to friends and family. Keep it up! Cheers!

Hi we just had chicken tikka kabab tonight it was awesome. We had paneer curry n rice so many time.that was also tasty n worth the price. Staff is really friendly and humble. I just love this place.

What a horrible experience!!!! We are regular customers that have been going here on a weekly basis for the past year. We called ahead of time around 8pm to make sure they are open as they tend to close the restaurant earlier than the advertised time of 9pm. The server on the phone mentioned they close the kitchen at 8:30pm, so we were like great Ill be there in 10 to 12 minutes. Upon arriving at 8:13pm, there were 3 other tables with customers sitting. There was no server present to greet us so we sat ourselves at a table and waited for 10 minutes at which point I went to the front desk and called out for someone to serve us, which seems odd that the server was in the back kitchen while other customers were also looking to be served at their table. The server came out and noted he will be with us. Eventually he comes by after serving the other customers to take our order, we order the hot and sour soups and chicken lucknow bryani from the menu (which is clearly advertised as boneless chicken) and confirmed by the server. We were given complimentary papars but with no chatni (sauce) that normally come with it. We asked if he can bring the sauce. After waiting another 5 to 10 minutes our soups arrive and the sauce for the papar which we had finished by the time he brought it to us. So now we are having our soup at 8:40pm. In the meantime 2 customers arrived after us to dine in and were seated. The server brought the bryani at 8:50pm and were right away noticed the chicken bryani was bone-in not boneless and we indicated this to server. He told us to wait he will go back and talk to the chef. While we are just sitting there waiting thinking they are preparing the proper order the server comes back and tells us the menu we have is old and they dont do boneless chicken (mind you we have been coming for the past year and the menus brought to us have been the same with no changes). I asked him is the butter chicken and other advertised boneless chicken have bone or boneless he mentioned they are boneless (so then just cook the boneless chicken??). He said you can talk to the chef, we said ok please bring the chef so we can address our concerns. The server comes back to us and tells us the Chef will not talk to you he is leaving he is going to miss his bus. So now there is one excuse after the other. Now its 9pm, the customers that came after us are still dining in. The server tells us if we can pack the food to takeout and that they are closing. SERIOUSLY!!!!! We arrived their at 8:13pm you bring the food at 8:50pm the wrong order and then tell us to pack up and leave because your closing. I have never seen such incompetence service. To the OWNERS if you are reading this, your service, quality and treatment of customers have gone down and we will definitely be sharing our experience with friends and family to avoid this place. I have attached the menu as well, if you are not going to offer something than dont advertise it or conveniently the chef choses to not to correct the order and make an excuse for it because he wants to leave. If I could give 0 stars I would!

Meanwhile, two customers who arrived after us were seated and served before us. The biryani finally arrived at 8:50 pm, but to our dismay, it contained bone-in chicken instead of the boneless variety we had ordered. When we brought this to the servers attention, he informed us that the menu was outdated and that they no longer served boneless chicken, despite the fact that we had been frequenting the establishment for the past year and the menus had remained unchanged. When we inquired about other boneless chicken dishes advertised on the menu, the server assured us that they were indeed boneless. We requested to speak with the chef to address our concerns, but the server returned with the excuse that the chef was leaving and would not speak with us as he would miss his bus. By this point, it was already 9 pm, and the customers who arrived after us were still dining. The server then suggested that we take our food to go, as they were closing. This was utterly unacceptable, considering we had arrived at 8:13 pm, waited until 8:50 pm for the wrong order, and were now being asked to leave because they were closing. The level of incompetence in the service provided was astounding. To the owners, if you are reading this, please be aware that the quality of service and treatment of customers at your establishment has significantly declined. We will certainly be sharing our disappointing experience with friends and family to deter them from visiting. Furthermore, if certain items are no longer available, they should not be advertised, or the chef should be able to fulfill orders as per the menu

Bought Masala chai to go and they poured it in a damaged cup. The lid was cracked and the hot tea spilled down my neck and shirt. Terrible, terrible experience.

Every dish has too much salt. Nothing fresh. Dinner buffet for $ 30 but only 3- 4 items with no taste and 2- 3 days old. Same tasteless gravy in all veg and non veg items. No sweets, or icecream or gulabjamun, nothing . I am feeling ashamed that why i went there, feeling myself stupid. Please please please dont go there even if they give free food. Last 30 years this was the worst. Believe me i got sick.

Had a buffet last night they gave us appetisers with full of oil and not even fully cooked that i even take bite. The curries at buffet were so dry no refills or refresh the buffet and I ordered garlic naan with it they gave us plain naan with butter on it and saying its a garlic butter which has no taste of garlic naan at all there was only one dessert which was rice pudding that you can t even take a spoon of it because it was so thick. The servers were polite and nice though but food wasn t good at all. Not recommend to others.

Butter chicken was ok but the portion was very small. Service was quite disappointing. When I opened my order, I felt that half of it was missing. They didn t give us the drinks and the side yogurt I ordered was about a tablespoon. I originally thought they forgot the yogurt too so I called them. I think if you want to charge customers that much for a 20 ml yogurt, the least you can do is to let them know. Most businesses don t consider that as a side.

We chose this restaurant by chance on our way back from our vacation in Ottawa. It was the four of us, my wife my two daughters and me. We were VERY lucky to pick this place. We were greeted by a tall handsome and very hospitable man. The restaurant was empty so we were unsure about our choice but our host rapidly reassured us with his kind and calm approch. The food was perfect, the service was excellent. The place was spotless. Next time we visit Ottawa, this restaurant will be on our to do list :) There is a buffet option and you can order to take out if you prefer. The menu is easy to understand and the seats are very confortable. We will come back for sure. Vegetarian options: I saw whole page dedicated for vegeterians. It was all meat choices for us :) Parking: There is a very large parking lot.

Food is hit and miss now and things seems deteriorated. They used to server thali in traditional utensils and taste was amazing. Nowadays its plastic cutlery and ok taste with spoiled presentation.

The food was not very good but the service and atmosphere were good. The place was clean.

I ordered takeout and it was mediocre. Roast N Curries was where I would order from before living in Kanata and perhaps their food was so amazing that any other places do not compare. The rice they gave seemed old or refrigerated. Not really impressed with the price for the portions considering the restaurant above has much bigger portions for less of a price tag. I wouldn t go out of my way to order from here again but the food was not wasted. 6/10

I used to come here often. However due to my most recent experience i would not be returning or recommending anyone to come here. Went in for 6:45 pm and the staff was not happy to see us at all ( we were the only guests ) when we walked in. The staff didn t greet us and we just picked a table for ourself on our own. They finally decided to show up to our table to see what we were going to order. We placed the order and waiting for food and then the staff comes back and tells us the chef can t make this because they are going to close. As per hours on google, they close at 8:30 PM. Maybe change your hours if you cant accomodate what guests want 2 hours before your apparent closing time. They only gave us an option of either of the two dishes that chef could make. We compromised because we liked the food here. And then yet again staff comes back and informs that their chef can t make the particular stuffed naan we ordered. Funny enough that chef was just walking casually around the restaurant while this was happened. At this point i lost my patience and asked them to cancel my order as we would much rather go someplace else where guests are treated good and are respected.

Our first time here. We visited the buffet bar. There was a good selection of food items. Both the madras chicken and the butter chicken were my favorites and were delicious with lots of flavour. The Naan bread was wonderful. We will return.

Had a lovely meal at Amaya Buffet last night. The Buffet is extensive and includes juice, tea and dessert. There are a a good number of vegetarian and meat dishes, as well as salad, soups and appetizers. All were very well prepared and very tasty. Service was warm, friendly and attentive. Vegetarian options: All of the buffet items had ingredients labelled and were identified as vegetarian or vegan if applicable. There were at least 4-5 vegetarian curries, soups, salad, naan and appetizers which were vegetarian. Parking: There is free parking in front of the restaurant or the latge lot adjacent to it. Kid-friendliness: The staff were very friendly to children and the buffet offered lots of choices that were not too spicy. Wheelchair accessibility: The restaurant is all on one floor. There are some small transoms but easily navigated with a wheel chair or walker.

ordered chicken tikka wraps and chicken had a smell to it and didnt taste good either. called back right away and asked to return the wraps. they offered a replacement but since it would be made from the same chicken again, we just wanted a refund and were refused. it was complete waste of our money since we didnt eat the wraps and lost our money too.

We went for a buffet at this place food was good but the service was extremely poor. Staff was negligent and unbothered. Had to ask them time and again to refill the food at the counter and when asked to warm up the food as it got cold at the service station, they refused to provide that service.

We hosted a function of 60 guests for my sons Aqiqah ceremony. It was a mix Indian & Pakistani crowd. Overall , buffet lunch was great. Everyone in our guests praised food taste , quality of venue and staff serving. Majority of people praised Goat curry specially. Venue was neat and clean, plastic glasses were shinning high quality , overall cutlery was great quality. More than sufficient amount of cutlery was given , we were given cuttlery on demand as well. Staff was very experienced and made function run very smooth they were very polite and friendly even though we had significant amount of kids usually difficult to handle , but staff was very polite and courteous to everyone. - Soup and mango lassi were great gestures. Conclusion: Over all I would give restaurant 10/10 for best price value , great food and staff. Amnah is a great manager , highly recommended. Thankyou, Yasir Vegetarian options: Navratan korma, pakoras and samosas were great. In non veg Goat curry was great, chicken qorma and butter chicken , chicken qorma all of them were great. Parking: Ample amount of parking was available weather was nice, very approachable entrance to restaurant.

I went today to eat there by myself, I m used to go to restaurants alone since I have to travel a lot because of work. This is the first time I see a restaurant when a single person can t dine in by themselves. I usually get delivery from them since I live in Kanata, but this time I decided to stop by The hostess greeted me from the register with a no so happy face and told me to come and order from there, I asked a couple questions about the menu but she didn t even answer, she just pointed to the menu every time I asked something, she couldn t even answer when I asked what was the most popular side they plate. She for sure wasn t happy to be there, after ordering and paying(because I was told to pay right away) and even tho I had told her from the beginning that I wanted to dine in, they called me( I was sitting at a near table) and gave me my food TO GO inside a bag!! I told her I had said I wanted to dine in and she said for single person they just sold to go not dine in, how is that even possible?!!!! I had never seen something like that in my whole life and I have visited so many restaurants. I also had to ask for plastic fork and spoon because they didn t even put any in the bag, what a bad experience I had there, I won t ever order delivery from them again and I will tell my neighbors and friends about this experience so they support other places that are actually friendly and not this one. Also you should hire people that actually enjoy working there.

I have been here and ordered for takeout many times, and I do enjoy the food, but the unpredictable staff and response when calling is a bit troublesome. I have been hung up on and given no reason for not being able to order food, when calling 1 hour before the posted closing time. I assume this is a family run restaurant, so I do want to continue to support but I think there should be some improvement on the service.

Vegetarian options: I went in the Saturday lunch and I see the buffet was beautiful with veg & non veg choices fresh and tempting. Buffet is $24 plus tax. Good seating area with couches & chairs, Bollywood background music. I did choose 16$ vegetarian combo included 2 curries & rice only. Portion was good for one person. I did choose palak paneer, Malai kofta & rice and I paid extra for a naan $2.50 Food was hot, fresh and tempting. Taste was exactly what I was looking for. Authentic taste. I recommend t everyone Parking: In front of the store there is big sharing Walmart parking lot.

Unpleasant dine-in experience as the staff rushed me to take away due to closing soon. Ordered chana masala, received chole masala instead. I did not like the taste at all; seemed like frozen sabji with added tadka. Disappointed.

First time here and had a very amazing experience. Everything was good , just goat biryani was little chewy .

This place is horrible. I went yesterday and we are suffering from the food. We had a really bad stomach since we eat the food. This buffet doesn t have much options. Also the customer service is very poor. We saw the person in the front was picking his nose all the time and touch all the spoons in the food in buffet. That is horrible. And the tables had some dead flies and full of dust. I would tell anyone to not to go to this place again. 0/5 starts

Ordered a nashta platter and got half full small containers. Ripoff and not worth the money.

I brought my family here for dinner. 4 adults and 3 children. We always order online or pickup and really like the food quality but when we dined in, it was terrible. The food was old and you could taste it. The rise was hard and tasted like a week old rice. The curies were okay but very spicy. It was okay for my husband and I but my 3 kids and mother could not eat any of them. My two youngest had nan and rice pudding for dinner. When I asked the server for yogurt, or if she could lessen the spices, she said now and she gave me yogurt with red pepper in it, and when I asked for the crispy bread, she gave us old crispy bread. The only thing that was fresh was the nan. The service was terrible. They splattered butter chicken all over my dress when they were replenishing the Buffett and we constantly had to ask for things . The waitress started to sweep the Resturant while we were eating!! It just was not a good dining experience. Very disappointed and not worth the money.

We went to Amaya over the weekend for the Breakfast.... The overall food Quality was good but the Quantity of Aloo/Channa Bhaji and Halwa can be improved as it wasnt much.. I would also suggest to please update the Prices on their menu card to reflect the actual prices of the items.... Overall its a good restaurant with good food and atmosphere... I wish them very best and success

I visited this restaurant last Saturday with my family. We really enjoyed our time with the delicious food , ambient atmosphere and charming faces of the people. I still remember the Ajay and Manpreet how they treated us like a family and made smile on our faces when we left the place. We will definitely visit this place again to enjoy delicious Indian cuisines and wanna meet these guys again. Great work Amaya Buffet

I have been here many times for take-out. I love the samosa chana chaat, its two samosas smothered in sauce and garnishes, an amazing appetizer treat. But we were only starting with that! We had the chicken jalfreze which came with rice, and it was delicious. I am looking forward to trying the lamb vindaloo tonight and some garlic naan. And of course I am ordering the samosa chaat! This is good hearty food for anyone who is hungry for a delicious savoury meal.

No flavor in any curries, rice pudding was diluted with water. One of the worst Indian food I have ever had. Floor was dirty and slippery, there was food everywhere.

We reached the place at 8:30 for dinner and I would say it was the best decision we made. Staff was welcoming although they were on verge of closing they accommodated us and didnt rush to place the order. We quickly ordered the food and it was served piping hot within 10 mins. We ordered mutter paneer, dal tadka and naan. Server Akash was kind and she treated us well. Since she was new she did good job but probably forget to mention about the rice serving with each curry item. They can mention that in menu card When one tastes the good food he tends to ignore the price. Its neither easy on pockets nor very costly but it was nice experience. They serve delicious buffet too. They asked us to taste the chicken soup complimentary which was kind of them. Highly recommended must try!

We came on Wednesday and forgot to add a reveiw. I must say one of the best place to go for food and the vibe. The customer service was amazing by two ladies there and food was fresh and delicious. What i like most is the place was so beautiful and great energy there. If you are ottawa try this place for sure.

My daughter and I had a great meal, it was fun to try a bit of everything thanks to the buffet style. Ajay and Akash were great warm hosts! They made sure we always had fresh rice and naan on hand. We were I. For a late lunch at 2pm and I was skeptical about the freshness of a buffet at this time... They opened the buffet when we came in and everything was tasty and fresh, butter chicken and goat curry were my favorites!

Went today afternoon for a buffet with family. The staff was very courteous especially Akash and made sure to make me comfortable. Food was good and fresh. Would definitely go back again.

I get takeout from here every 2-4 weeks. It never lets me down. Even when I branch out and try other Indian food spots, this is my favourite.

Clean restaurant but I didnt enjoy the buffet. Could be the regular chef was away? Naan was very good though

What an amazing meal. Our party of 4 all had the buffet. The garlic butter naan and appetizers were divine and the variety at the buffet was exceptional. Everything was absolutely delicious. As for service, the wait staff were attentive and helpful as needed. They wanted to ensure we enjoyed our experience. We will definitely be return customers.

Wow! This place should be packed all the time! Were new to Ottawa, love Indian food. We were hesitant to go in bc we havent seen many people there when passing. Finally tried it and it was awesome. The food is super tasty, not too spicy. Huge variety and a buffet also. The staff are very friendly and attentive. Loved the complimentary Papadum ( I think thats what is was called? Crunchy cracker bread with cumin seeds) delicious! Highly recommend this restaurant to everyone who loves flavourful food. Try it. We will definitely be going back. Awesome food and service. The menu is rich with options of veg and non-veg. The flavors are great. The people serving are very friendly too. I always enjoy coming to Amaya to enjoy different dishes. I d recommend all to give Amaya a try. You ll become a regular if you love Indian food!

Really great food and service! My only complaint is that the music was very loud and didn t fit the atmosphere. So many beautiful Indian songs out there and the ones that were selected felt like I was at a club. Made it a little hard to talk! Otherwise, I highly recommend.

Good food, good service but not enough options for a $30 buffet. The chaat items were only paani puri, salad was almost absent and no papad or samosa. Placement of the spread was also a bit wierd, the pani puri was in one side but the chutneys one would typically take with them were at the other end. One dessert (sweet rice) was placed beside one rice and the other desert (kheer) was placed along with the chutneys. The sweet rice was not good at all - it was neither sweet nor any flavor. Definitely missing more salad and dessert options to justify the price.

4 veg and 4 non veg dishes primarily. Good less expensive options however the menu is not elaborate. 24.99 for dinner buffet. The best part was Shahi paneer and Naan. The Naan was the best I had here in a long time. Freshly served breads on your table. Visit there around 7pm and you wont find too much crowd. No soft drinks in the buffet and only 1 dessert.
