I highly recommend going inside when you order your food. I come here quite frequently on my lunch break. When I go threw the drive threw I am charged an extra 4$ for what im not sure as they always refuse to give me an itemized receipt, But when I go inside I pay the regular amount Im used to paying. It is not that I am upset over 4$, its the fact that they have over charged me countless times and refuse to give me a receipt showing exactly what im paying extra for. It leads me to believe that something is going on here, That I can not trust the business enough to use the drive threw and not be over charged.
Never liked A&W ad much, Went here for the first time to try their new Masala Veggie Burger, which wasn't bad, and everything was fresh. BUT, whoever was working on drive thru was such a horrible, miserable sounding staff. He asked me to wait which is okay and I waited but then nothing for 10 mins and I was the only one in the drive thru, not even busy. I asked and he answered in most deadpan, uninterested way "give me more time". When I went to the front, the same, miserable sounding, no interpersonal skills, don't know C of customer service asked me to wait in the drive thru parking. Problem is the staff's attitude, Just do something else then may be customer service isn't for you or fake it till you make it. Most people have worked in customer service in their lives, so I do understand it can be difficult but there's no excuse to be that pathetic sounding at 10:30 in the morning with one car in your drive thru. I almost felt bad for him so I didn't even bother to say anything. May be he was having a bad day who knows. Franchisee owners need to do better, why their staff are dying working there? First and last time visiting A&W!
A non pleasant experience after the order was taken for a Bacon and Egger combo. The tables were dirty but staff did arrive to clean them. The Combo came out and hash browns were loaded with grease, as the oil was likely cold, the sandwich was just acceptable with some rubberized bacon and no coffee. I had to ask if it was brewing but was just forgotten about.
Food was cold and stale. Definitely NOT worth the price. If you like crummy, cold, expensive food this place is for you. How can it be so cold when no one was there but us and it took Sooooooo long. Do yourself a favour and go to another aw location. This one is the absolute worst. They just don't care.
The food always taste good but the service wasn’t the best.. not going back to that location ever again. The woman working was handing the debit machine and touching other things then went to touch our food without washing her hands first…… Since you guys don’t wear gloves you need to be washing your hands. Instead of saying “sorry I’ll wash my hands”she said. “ oh don’t make a scene” Same thing with the guy at the cash, he tossed our receipt in the trash, we needed it back and he fished through the trash and didn’t wash his hands after either.
Lots of parking, went during the day so they restaurant portion and drive through were both open. We got some breakfast for 4 people. Food was served pretty quick. I’m a big A&W so as per usual food was great! Staff were nice.
This location is definitely staffed with some of the better people. The staff were very understanding and very patient, with me explaining my weird request. Not to be one of those people but to purely use it for the sake of the review, I'm not physically allowed to eat grain products or dairy products (but who doesn't indulge in cheese or ice-cream), so I've been trying some new dietary decisions. One week, I chose to try the carnivore diet and the gentleman behind the counter was super understanding when I told him I want only meat on my plate, and did exactly that with substitutions for the toast, and hashbrown. Another time, more recently, I went through the drivethru and purchased some sandwiches and a fry, and even though I thought I forgot to mention certain specifications on them, he nailed it with the lettuce wraps instead of buns and the food was super tasty. It's definitely a place that I will continue visiting. Worth it completely as I bought 2 burgers, and the third was in a combo with a large coffee, and it only came out to $22.
Great food but they can improve in other ways. The drive thru took long... In line for 20 mins (probably because the McD's nearby is temporarily closed). We wanted Mozza Burgers but it was unavailable so we had Teen Burgers instead. I ordered a Chocolate Pie.... When I got home, it was Apple. The staff are nice but they can improve on efficiency during peak volumes... April 2022 Update: I did email A&W since they replied to this review. They replied back that they would look into this. No response at all with the investigation results so don't waste your time and email them. There's no point.
Tried to use a digital coupon and there is a cult of foreign employees full on arguing with me as if they were the owners trying to deny my coupon because it s digital and not physical. Will NEVER go to this location again would rather eat a cats hair ball. Ignorant rude people with no customer service skills. Our franchises are being taken over by these people the city is falling apart.
I don t know what s up with the staff here but it always takes at least a few minutes before they re able to take your order, even when it isn t busy.
This is a good A&W clean facilities and friendly staff. I have a hard time paying full price for this stuff but the 4$ Tern Burger will get me every time.
The cleanliness of the restaurant was poor; all the tables were dirty, as was the bathroom, and there was a disturbing amount of flies near the kitchen door. The food made us feel ill afterward.

Despite the fact that it was a 24 hour drive-through, declined to take order, then stuck in drive-thru for 10 minutes. Server refused even look at us when we drove by. Will not be returning. All I wanted was Pepsi.
The food has always been fast at this location and prepared great. The staff are super nice.
Extremely disrespectful, and took way too long to make, for the food that we ordered. She asked us at the window, do you know how to order after we had placed our order at the speaker. Then continued to close it on us and came back and argued back and forth until they finally let us have our food . I will definitely not be returning.

Shout out to the night crew always serves FRESH meals, and their customer service is top notch. With so few fast food spots open late in North Kanata, this location def takes the cake. You re doing a disservice to yourself if you decide to go to the McD s on Hazeldean instead tbh
Spent $30 to wait for 15 minutes at the window and received 2 pieces of bread, a single loonie sized tomato, and a thin crisped patty. The rest of the order followed suit. Total waste.
Rat traps at the front door, all tables were dirty and empty, the whole place was messy for 4+ employees standing around, food was not their best and the service was lazy and rude. The cashier laughed at a young girl for asking a question about the pop machine. Overall just gross and a let down. It s fast food not rocket science

My order was wrong at first. They put in regular fries instead of sweet potato fries. I went in to bring this to their attention they apologized and rapidly cooked my sweet potatoes and also gave me the original order for my companion in the car.

We placed a drive through order today. The service was great, our teen burger meals were tasty and delivered to our vehicle quickly. Burger meat was of quality as were the fries and all cooked to perfection. Looking forward to our next meal at this location.

I recently visited the A&W shop and was greeted by Mr. Nikhil with the sweetest attitude. Their warm demeanor and genuine care made me feel so welcome. The way they prepared my order with such care and consideration left me feeling truly content. I left satisfied and will definitely be returning soon.

A & W has good food, but expensive and their offers on the app only apply to online orders, they cannot be used in the restraunt along the lines of a coupon, not everyone wants to put their credit card info on line, this is disappointing.
A&W gets my business because they have earned it, not acted entitled to it. Great breakfast, allowing for healthy substitution requests (lettuce and tomato instead of toast and hash browns). Other restaurants need to follow a&w s example. Moreso, other customers need to reward companies like A&W instead of enabling the bad service of so many other companies.

Courteous and fast service. The snack burger was not tasty. Little variety of drinks. The stores hall is small and needs a deep cleaning. Free parking with several open spaces near the store entrance.

The amount you wait for your food and receive 2-3 napkins for 3+ burgers here is unreal. Save on serving faster than saving costs maybe but ofcourse you have your ways. Very cheap. My mistake for visiting. Won t happen again

My son asked why the low stars if this A&W is great. So he asked me to leave a 5 stars review. (We have come several times) The place is great, the food is prepared on a timely manner and we have never have any issues with an order. The burgers are great, and I don t think you can ask anything else for a fast food restaurant.

Forgot to put cheese on my burger and when I went back to get it fixed gave me a peice of cheese in a bag that looked like it had sitting on the counter for 3 days and then charged me for it even though they were the ones who forgot won t be back
Im a truck driver and I stop there after hrs went to the Drive thow and because I did not have a vehicle they refused to serve me I told them that my truck will not fit thow there dive thow but they did not care i told them its the law that they have to serve me

Just ordered on Uber and because it was a bogo offer I put a long list of notes in the order cause my husband is so picky but I love your food the way it is. But they followed every single note to a T! Phenomenal staff that took the time to make the order perfect. It made my night! Thank you so much!

Beware some restaurant workers might over charge you. usually I go to this restaurant from drive thru couple of times tries to over change me but I prevent it. Today as soon as I reach window & pay for a poutine using a debit card Resturant told me it gonna take more time for cooking, I ask why you didn t tell that before you take money, Probably they new I was in a rush. I left the restaurant without food, but loose money. I have everything recorded in my dash cam
Are the Nashville chicken and it made me go to the hospital for 2 days I now have severe stomach aches. The workers were also playing loud Indian music which made me feel like they dident care about there jobs much.
Ate Nashville chicken sandwich they drenched the sandwich with the spicy sauce and the workers were on their phones and playing music plus my toilet got clogged bcs of the sandwich 500$ down the drain

Spoiled my Sunday morning. Delay in service. There was no steel spoon and fork to eat my pancake. And the arrogance of cashier, while asked about this !!! Keep people with humble attitude and has a mind to offer service. Never again to this place.

As always, the A&W here was a pleasant visit. Has some of the best onion rings as far as fast food places are concerned. Chipotle mayo was great with the sweet potato fries.
