Made Fresh on Order. Not from Buffet. Scrumptious Indian Food. Gluten Free, Vegan available. Something for everybody likes Indian Food from mild to hot selections.
I ordered tandoori chill grill for $30 and menu said it comes with rice and salad. I didn’t check the takeout box at restaurant and went home to find out it had no salad and hardly any rice. I called the place to check and they blatantly said we don’t give rice or salad anymore. Average food, highly deceptive marketing, shameless owner.
Worst tikki chaat ever. Tikki chat highlights - Tikki smells stale - no Dahi at all in chat - no mint chutney - chickpea too much hard and smelled bad. WORST FOOD I EVER PAID FOR !
Very very bad taste. I ordered aloo Tikki chaat and it doesn’t taste like chat at all. They don’t know how to make it. Even It smells like it is made from bad potatoes and onions. Wasted my money on this. Never gonna order again!!
Never eat at this restaurant unless you want to be food poisoned: ordered Fish tandoori and found rice in the fish and mint sauce tasted like rotten had to puke. had to throw out everything in garbage. If there is a food inspection this restaurant would definitely be closed.
Wish there was a option to rate this place in negative. From customer service to atmosphere everything was disgusting about this place. The chef had some attitude issues, no manners and disgusting vocabulary. At that point I felt he might spit in my food. I would strave for a day before having to eat anything at this place. And for the chef Bahar nikal ki Gali de toh tujhe reply deta hu m*c*. Also luaki lele apne andar piche se.
Quite disappointed with the food quality here. I ate here before, it could be a management change or the chef change or cant think of anything else. Stale items used for making chat papdi and samosas fried multiple times. Fried and frozen and then fried again makes them full of oil. Should not take 15 mins at lunch hour to deliver the food. Needs an overhaul of the menu and the food quality. Cannot be this difficult to run a simple kitchen.
No 0 rating so sticking one... as they claim none of the veggies used were fresh, had to throw everything away most were spolied, raitha dead- spoiled vegetables. Aloo Mattar in comma- potatoeswere cooked way too long ago and refrigerated . Chenna masala walking dead- same story as potatoes. Samasa chat was eatable. Image is left over or never consumed
My first time and lamb biryani was ok the mango lassi the yogurt tasted bit sour, it tells me it's old not from fresh pack. Too expensive for that quality. It's actually a rip off. Charged us without showing the list of orders on receipt. The biryani was 14.99 and 4.95 including Pepsi cost us 29. let's say plus tax still won't be that much to charge us that much. So careful with your order at location and ask for the list of orders with price you will know what extra did they charge you.
food was not good at all , too much salt in everything , not worthy for the price they charge , i will not recommend going here
Gristle chicken Gross
The food was okay. Im giving 2 stars because I did eat here before and it was really delicious. I was disappointed with my order tonight. The Chicken Biryani and Lamb Biryani was good. The Mango Lassi tasted a little sour. The main issue was the Garlic Naan. My child took out a piece of what it looks like a part of a BBQ Wire Bristle Brush from his mouth. Luckily he didnt swallow it or it would have been a bad outcome. I escalated the issue to Door Dash. The only resolution that came out of it is that they will cover any medical expenses. Would I order again? If I do, I would look at every spoonful before putting it in my mouth.
Have had better food
Good food good service Thanks to Simmi good service She is very nice with customer. Youness Food : 5/5 |
Tasteless food. Won t suggest any one to order. Bad experience. Food
The worst manchoorian I ever tasted in canada Vegetarian options: Please do order if you wanna waste your money
If you like Indian I recommend 100%
1 star i would rate 0 if possible naan was raw. chicken curry tasted rancid and had raw chicken. i dont know how the health department hasnt shut this place down. complete waste of money i wish i saw these reviews before ordering.
Always pleased with the food Vegetarian options: Im not a vegetarian but I always add a veg meal on my order they are delicious
Yesterday night, i.e on 7th Jan, 2023, we took a takeout from the Kanata outlet of Karara. Not only this would definitely be our last order from Karara but I have serious concerns on the food safety here. The raita that was given, not only was super sour or stale but it was jelly like moldy yogurt. I was not expecting this and tried it spoonful and had my share of stomach problems. Thanks I tried it before we gave it to our kid. The Naan was too much under-baked; we had only the outer sides and throw away the inside which was raw. I am not going into the taste of the food, which can be vary based on individuals preference; for me the biriyani was just a masala rice and has no relation to biriyani of any nature from any part of India. Butter chicken was ok, eatable at least. Most concerning is the food safety concern rather than the taste. Good that Ottawa now has much better options and we dont have to depend upon these outliers.
Authentic high quality food spiced to perfection
We ordered food from them before few times not good but today it was way worst . Too oily chilly chicken made video too and also raw onion and stale chicken tikka. This is not good at all . I checked reviews too on few comments you guys blame on customers. No please do some changes there. Thanks Never going to eat there wasted $40.
The best naans and butter chicken in ottawa. Keep up the good work guys.
Garlic naan burnt and tasted like jarred garlic. Dal makhani was ok. Butter chicken watery and sweet. There are better options in the area.
Delicious food. Lots of VEGAN options! Hurray!
We ordered veg schezwan fried rice and chicken fried rice with Manchurian ...food was stale and spoiled And every food was tasting sour , had to throw everything Very bad food
So delicious!! My husband ordered beef vindaloo (he hasn t stopped talking about it) and said it s one of the best he s every had. I ordered butter chicken, they did not disappoint! Great portions, naan is out of this world! 10/10 would recommend
Great food, friendly service! Got the 2 meat 1 veg and rice combo with rice and naan bread!!! I will be back
I like the samosa and nann bread
Its the second time I had their takeout and, like the first time, it was delicious. I had their med. spiced Butter Chicken which was beautifully spiced, a generous portion and the Naan bread three times the size one normally gets. I can only recommend this place.
We ordered Daal makhani, shahi paneer, malai kofta, mango lassi and tandoori roti for our whole family. Great taste with huge quantity. The guy on the phone was very polite and professional. Delivery was right on time and our whole family enjoyed the warm and tasty food. well definitely visit you again:)
I ordered 2 shahi paneer and 2 paranthas (gobi and paneer) from Karara as part of their lunch specials. Their shahi paneer was lacking paneer pieces (it was almost all curry) but it was still okay. However the paranthas were too salty and really not edible . When I called back to complain, he asked me to bring back the paranthas and said that if we wanted less salt, we should have told him that when we placed the order and that this was their standard recipe I told him that this was the first time I ordered so I wouldn t have known and since I live in orleans, it was not feasible for me to come back today but I could come back tomorrow if they wanted to remake it. He said there s nothing they could do about it inedible paranthas and terrible service .I won t be going back.
Great takeout place!!! Super fresh n tasty Vegetarian options: Awesome veg samosa Food : 5/5 |
Very nice food , decent sized quantities and very flavorful
We ordered Manchurian and Noodle. They taste sweet :( thought being ordered as medium spicy. Also there were only 5 Manchurian balls. I would suggest to avoid this place. Food
Amazing food. Called a day ahead to place a large order. They even opened early and had everything ready prior to their lunch time rush for pick up. Will for sure be ordering from here again.
Had the Shahi paneer and it was decent. Quantity was less than expected for $20.
Dont order food from here. They give you intestines etc as part of the meat curry and I also received undercooked chicken. Chicken tikka tasted like it was raw. Horrible restaurant. Stay away.
We love Karara we have been doing take out for over a year. I love the coconut curry shrimp and nana bread. The last time I got it, the shrimp were very hard and the sauce had a different taste than usually. I find the nana bread is usually very crisp if not burnt, I have stopped getting it but the curry is always good. I have only had one bad meal out 15.
The owners of this place are incompetent. The food is horrendous. This owner would be perfect for the show kitchen nightmares. No Acknowledgment from the owner what so ever and BLAMES the customers. Would be surprised to see this place go under
Had the curry beef with side of rice. Mild curry sauce and large (!!!) portion of beef. There must have been the equivalent of an 8oz 3/4 steak in the dish. Incredibly tender and well marinated - fell apart as you were eating. A surprise hit, as I randomly choose this place from a list. Superb value for $.
I have had a bad experience at Karara in Barrhaven few years back and that day I decided I am never eating at Karara again as food was far away from anything close to authentic. Today after years, I decided to give the Kanata location a try based on a friends feedback on hakka. I ordered chili chicken without any high hopes but what we got was beyond terrible. A red sauce chili chicken full of vinegar with inedible stale, long and dry pieces of chicken. It was so bad that we had to throw away the dish. Do yourself a favor and eat cup noodles and sleep rather than ordering from here. This hopefully was my last order from Karara ever.
One of the most worst restaurants in the Area the owner is very rude the food is OK but sometimes cold and the quantity is less not at all a good restaurant
Completely avoidable food! Picked up food on Sunday morning..and it was completely stale. The tandoori roti was actually sour! Figure that!! Completely avoidable and we had to throw most of it
Really tasty food and must try..good quality, service and quantity..staffs were really friendly
Outstanding food just loved it loved the quality and indian touch of the food
It was a superb experience here.the indian food was best ..
Very good service
Delicious food
Amazing
Staff members are good
I love this is best
They are serving raw samosas, very bad quality. My whole family had a stomach ache after eating their samosas.
Over priced garbage food
Ordered Indo-Chinese (Hakka) - no taste just food color and tomato ketchup. Also ordered tandoori fish - again copious quantities of same color on it. Couldn t make out any difference between Chicken manchurian and Tandoori fish. Looks like same marinade is used for all dishes. Too expensive for the quality. Ordered for the first time and will not be ordering ever again.
Delicious!
Save your hard earned money and make it yourself. I m sure it will taste better than what I was given. I Ordered butter chicken, tandoori chicken, Nan bread and the Bryani. The tandoori chicken and the Bryani were rancid. Literally gone bad. I have a sneaky feeling that if chef Ramsey ever entered the kitchen of that restaurant he would shut it down immediately. Because I knew everything I was served was so old or stale I didn t even bother to eat the butter chicken or the naan. You should be ashamed of yourself as a restaurant that serves humans
Bad stomachache after the lamb curry
Extremely pricy, Charged HST and did not generate any proper receipt, Samosas were old and frozen, just deep fried again at time of purchase, visibly and taste wise were not fresh at all, Not worth for money spent, One Butter Chicken and 4 pieces of Samosa costed me $35.99, it is a ripoff
It is expensive take restaurant.
Please dont order any Indo-Chinese food items in Karara location. First of all - what ever item that you order it will be tangy, saucy, sour and not edible. Secondly all the indo-chinese items taste the same (Schezwan, Regular, dry and gravy items). Avoid ordering Indo-Chinese / Hakka item as you will regret ordering it later and most likely even get sick. Vegetarian options: Schezwan Vegetarian Noddles, Schezwan Fried Rice, Regular veg fried rice & Noodles and Gobi Manchurian
Very very bad experience. Chicken biryani is stale and stinking. Veg noodles are also same - quite bad and tasteless. Aloo paratha has not even 1/4 potato in it. Each 8 dollars. Don t know what. Will never ever go to this place. Stay food less than this absolute garbage. Sorry for my bad review. You shouldn t sell this kind of food for money. That too on par with restaurant prices. Throw in garbage 90% all the food got today.
I placed an order for take-out on Wednesday.it was really worth the money i have spent.quality and quantity of food was just awesome and delicious.i recommending everyone to go there and try their food.
My son ordered several dishes as a treat for a family dinner today. All the dishes delivered were delicious including butter chicken, beef vindaloo, lamb vindaloo, two paneers, three types of samosas. Problem was that we did not receive the naan he ordered or the dessert, or the papadums. He used skip the dishes and they did give a credit back to him when he notified them of the missed items. I will be hesitant to trust skip the dishes as an order option in the future given this mistake. How does a driver not know he missed dropping off a significant part of the order? It was contactless so they drop the bags and go. I will pick up my orders to ensure I get what I ordered in the future.
It was really good, i mean really good! Our second time there, because last time, it was really good too! LOVE the Naan as well. Massive pieces!
I ordered off Uber Eats. I noticed the reviews were fairly mixed - either excellent, or very bad. I decided to give them a chance anyways. Let me assure you, avoid this place at all costs if you are looking to eat butter chicken. The chicken it s self was dry, and the sauce was bland and watery and did not offset the awful taste of the chicken. The only thing they did correctly was make the rice. Big whoop. I ll be taking my business elsewhere.
If you come here for real Indian food, then I advise you to choose another institution. The food here is not bad, but it is not for everybody.
We ordered mix veg korma, which was nothing but frozen asian mix veggies in gravy. This pack of frozen veggies is easily available at walmart. When paying that much, a customer expects fresh veggies. Gravy was overly sweet.
Worst food. I would not recommend.
I ordered the food from Uber eat. There are missing items from the order delivered but it charged me the whole orders
I ordered the meal deal with naan and dessert. Great taste ! Cheers
Unhygienic and deceptive they charged me for extra chutney even when I didnt take it and had asked them to leave it out after seeing the quantity level to the price they were charging for it, I realized that when I checked my card statement
We bought butter chicken thinking it was going to be good since the whole thing was 60$. Little did we know it had cashews and almonds in it. Im allergic to nuts. They didnt indicate anywhere on the menu that their curry chicken had nuts. We politely asked for a refund. We were ok with a half refund. They refused. This could have been worse for someone else. Furthermore the consistancy of their butter chicken isnt good. Its liquid when it should be thicker. I understand theyre trying to make a living but this is unacceptable.
Have ordered takeout twice now and both times I find a premium item I ordered swapped out for a low-cost item when Im unpacking food for the family at home. Sorry friends, take better care and tell me if youre out of an item.
First time to try this restaurant and the Trio sauce (mint green, mangoe chutney and tamarin) are watery and doesn t taste good. Feels like my fish tikka is just reheated so it taste bland but the butter chicken is not bad. Gulab jamun is not good at all.
Bad customer service
Totally disappointed We oder vegi pakora plate 2pc samosa and one plat samosa chat. Taste was Even not fully cooked from inside Never wanna try it again ever.
Placed an order for Take-out.It was so authentic and tasty.
great staff, friendly and fast service, reasonable prices
Its a nice place Was looking for a restaurant to have food when i saw it and visited here giving five stars
Excellent customer service must visit this place guys
Best Indian food i had in Ottawa. I live in Gatineau and i would make the trip to kanata anytime if i want to order Indian food! AAA+
Amazing Butter Chicken and Naan among other things. I used to order this when I lived in Barrhaven, and Im glad there is one in Kanata. Fast, always well cooked and tasty!!!
Ordered chilli paneer, milai kofta and naan through Door Dash. While the kofta was quite tasty, naan super soft, the chilli paneer was a little on the sweet side but still fresh. The biggest disappointment was the portion size of the paneer and kofta dishes. They are using the small black takeout containers. There were only 3 koftas. Each of these dishes was $14 - steep for that small quantity. These are max $10 dishes each. Gotta do better on portion sizes...
Not even a single star, but not an option to write a review without giving a star. They sell expired products, smells bad and staff is not helpful when I mentioned about the smell, their response is that it will be the same if you order the next time. I am not expecting an apology, should be at least an acknowledgment without showing an attitude.
I ordered medium spicy samosa chat which is delicious but surprisingly sweet. Id prefer less sweetness. Im shocked by how small the $18.95 chicken jalfrezi was - not even a whole chicken breast and packed in a small container so not even an attempt to add more sauce and vegetables. I ordered this dish during a nostalgic memory of enjoying it on Gerrard St. E. in Toronto.
I tried Barrhaven location and was very impressed with their food quality so I decided to give this location a try. I ordered Paneer butter masala and it had big tomato and onion chunks and curry taste was nothing close to how Paneer butter masala should taste. Samosa chaat was dry with big pieces of onions. I added garlic naan which was worst of them all. It was chewy and I understand naan is supposed to be somewhat chewy but this was way worse. Their curry quantity was very good but quality was disappointing.
Tried Kanata location,Exceptional Quick service and good variety on MENU. Liked their Aloo tikki chat the most.
Abysmal
I enjoy the food at kararas. I find the portions small like the butter chicken entree. Love the chicken biryani. I order the meal deal often, but not sure if Ill order it as much anymore with the $2 price increase.
I wanna give it zero ratings if it was possible. Terrible restaurant terrible people. Dont go with the menu its just for showing they dont have the items which they are mentioned. Terrible food and taste
Had a couple samosas, pretty dry, and flavorless, walked in , nobody was wearing masks that were working, I found that incredibly strange considering we are not exactly at that stage yet. Front desk owner seemed a lil...odd. He looked at me like ( you probably shouldnt eat here). Show some pride guys cmon .
Terrible food, I ordered chilli paneer and its literally cooked only in ketchup. The chicken chowmein also is cooked purely in ketchup only and has no flavo and dishes just give sweet flavor. Terrible taste and lookd nothing like the pictures
A lot of food colouring is used which is not healthy at all. Please stop using artificial colours and try to keep the food authentic.
Ordered Manchurian in the past. Wasnt worth it.
Food was ok, not great. I got sick after, and am almost certain they gave me food poisoning.
I had butter chicken with rice and Nan bread , delicious and tasty
Have been several times in the last few months and the food has been fantastic every time. 5 stars for sure.
4 stars just for Alu tiki chaat. Their samosas have become smaller than before though they were tasty. Whenever I get chaat craving I get it from here! The tikis are tasty and quite huge and filling for the price. Do give it a try. Pre pandemic had tried their thali which was very VFM and had liked the matar paneer too. I don t know if the thali is still available though
Food is good but its pricey
Nice and decent place to enjoy a dinner out with family and friends. Just a suggestion from my side - sweet classical songs with low volume would add an excellent experience. Ive been to such place before and it was amazing.
I ordered tandoori cauliflower (mild spice level). What we got had way too much food color in it than permissible limit. And was too spicy. I will never buy from karara kanata again.
While placing an order, I asked a specific question and the response from Karara was You are not going to instruct us, how to do things. If there is an option I would rate -5 (minus 5). The specific question was asked because last time after consuming the food from this location I got sick. I am now wondering why did I even was about to place another order. Thanks Gary from Karara for his comment.
This place is welcoming with charming service and food better than I have tasted since I was in canada. The veggie samosa has very flavourful filling. Everything is well worth the price. The owners are very nice and it shows they love what they do. Had the lunch special with butter chicken and vegetables
The sauces taste like they came out of a jar. Not much flavour, and not spicy. A little watery too. The naan was not cooked - still dough inside (see picture). A little better after putting it in the oven for 10 minutes. The salad was dry (see photo). See that salami in the photo? Thats not salami. I think its beet. And dried carrot below. The rice was good. All in all, a pretty disgusting meal.
Reasonable price and great food.
Great testing food
Best Indian food that I never eat before in Canada
There have fishy promotions (10%) if you order online to get you proceed with the order then they force you to make the order on the phone (Giving a fake error saying payment not getting through). You call them expecting you to get the same discount (for pickup) but then they say no we cant (even I told them I am going to show them the checkout receipt I got online). They are deceitful and untruthful getting you to lose your loyal points and pay more for the same order. To be honest, they dont have the best food either (I order because it is close to where I live) but lesson learnt! The girl taking the order over the phone was very disrespectful and rude. Thanks, Karim
Currently the hours on the website and the reality of the Kanata store to not line up - myself and other customers were at their locked door trying to pick up our online orders. Calls to the number were not answered. An hour later they called me back to see if I still wanted my order, but otherwise didnt seem overly concerned.
Cancelled my order 5 minutes before it was supposed to be ready for pick up, because they were too busy, sold out.
Have been ordering from here for a few years. Always impressed with how hot the food arrives when delivered. Really enjoy the samosas and pretty much everything else that we have tried. It is always enough for leftovers for another meal for sure (which doesnt happen with much takeout/delivery). Great comfort food during the pandemic!
We ordered 4 veg samosas. 3 of them were good the last one was stale and sour tasting . Not maintaining health and hygiene.
You guys really need to learn manners, how to talk to customers before serving them food.
Ordered Butter Chicken Saag Paneer and Seekh Kebab. We were not impressed with any of these dishes and the portion sizes were the smallest I have ever seen for this type of food. Would not order from here again.
This is the first time my wife and I ordered dinner take-out since COVID-19 struck. We love Indian food, so thought we would try Karara since theyre close by. Ordered butter chicken, goat roganjosh, dhal makhani, and a few veg dishes. Everything tasted overly sweet, as though several table spoons of sugar or syrup was poured into each dish. The food was also very watery (thin), and pretty tasteless. The goat didnt even taste seasoned. Among the worst Indian food experiences weve had. We hate wasting food, but we could not eat it. First and last time.
Awesome food. Truly authentic. Greatest indian food experience in kanata.
If there is a 0 option, I will select that. We ordered cauliflower biryani for pickup. When we picked up and reached home, it was goat biryani. When I called the restaurant, she mentioned that mistakes happen. Instead of feeling sorry for what happened, they want me to bring back the biryani to show as the proof that I didnt lie. When we want there, the cauliflower biryani was not ready. We had wait another 15 min for that. When I asked for a compensation for this (at least a discount or a refund), the guy was so rude.He asked why he should give the refund. I mentioned whey I had to pay for his mistakes by travelling there 2 times and waiting, he said how many kilometres you travelled. He was so ill mannered and dont know what customer satisfaction means. He mentioned that owner didnt want him to give the refund. He was not willing to allow us to talk to the owner. He used very bad language. He came out and spoke to the owner by calling a different branch number and spoke to her. She is a very sweet and loyal person. She was very sorry for what happened. But I had to write this review which will help other people. Vegetarians, beware. Mistakes so happen there always!!. I read couple of other reviews that they were rude. I think its time that the owners take a strict action and make sure this doesnt happen with other customers.
Just picked up samosa chat and onion pakora... both were cold and spoiled... tastes like rotten potatoes. Tried to talk to the staff and it seems thats how they serve the food (how rude!) and proud about it. AVOID THIS PLACE!
Not maintaining health and hygiene..
Picked up five (5) orders of Chicken Curry (Sept 5, 2020) for a family birthday celebration and were generally happy with everything however, we found the sauce somewhat watered-down. Weve been customers for years and know how thick & creamy the sauce used to be!! Would normally rate the food a 5 but could only manage a 3 this time around. Certainly hope this disappointment was a one-off situation. Ray T.
Absolutely delicious!!! Large quantities. We get this to go often! Leftovers for days! Highly recommend!
Hit or Miss..!!!! You can never get guarantee that you will get same taste everytime for same dish.... sometime they cooked delicious dishes and next time they dont. Not sure if their cook has been changed since last few months but I am very dissatisfied with the dishes since last 6 months. I used to liked them in the past and gave them enough chances but I think not worth it any more!!!!
Delicious Indian food with great service.
That was my first time trying this restaurant and the last time !! Too expensive and tasteless food!! I ordered Tandoori Chicken, it was too old or it seems like 1/2 days old !! I do not recommend this restaurant! Thanks
SO Fresh and so good! Our neighbourhood favourite.
So expensive for such small portions. Taste is decent but the prices is ridiculous
The online ordering is convenient. Time to prepare food hasnt been bad in my experience. However, food isnt great. Everything is rather bland. Quantity is below average for the price.
I like to endorse there Hyderabadi chicken biryani for those who love biryani
Incredible food, well worth the cost.
I love the Biryani by box . It is really value for your money . Try once s and I can bet you will try again.
I love indian food and karara is the best for it. Food is absolutely delicious here. Their services are great
Just ordered delivery online. There was a small problem with the order so I called the restaurant and it was immediately taken care of with no hassles. Very kind delivery driver and the woman on the phone who so quickly and politely resolved my issue was great! Best customer service experience and the food was delicious. Thanks and I will definitely be ordering from here again.
I am not sure even if someone associated with this restaurant will read this. So, no hope of improvement. Being in Kanata, unfortunately, the only option is Karara. Last time, I have ordered a vegetable chowmein which was too saucy (sweet) and they have added broccoli (surprise). Today, with a busy day opted to pick up food which had a chicken curry, Samosa and a garlic naan. I have asked them to make chicken curry as mild and what were the instructions given in the kitchen God knows. The chicken curry was too watery, Samosa was burnt from the outside and raw from the inside, same with naan which was a rubbery dough (raw). So, I have called the restaurant and was asked to come back tomorrow to get the replacement of the chicken curry. I don t know-how is that convenient as I am hungry at the moment, later was offered a $5 refund after spending $38 Thanks but keep it with you and dont take orders if you dont want to serve properly. Because of you, so much food is wasted. Shame!!!
This place is the best. Their chicken curry is my favorite! Its the tastiest dish!! I always get that! Highly recommend!!
I want to rate this place 5 stars. We picked up food for Valentine s Day and were amazed at the quantity we received given the price. We had leftovers which were eaten the next day. The food tastes great- BUT the food has made me sick a few hours after each time I have eaten it. I had some Punjabi chicken curry and Jalfrezi chicken. Those two dishes made me ill so my stomach. Won t be risking eating there again. Really too bad.
Great food & great service. Reasonable price.
Definitely my go to Indian takeout spot. Make sure you order with a bit of extra spice.
After thoroughly enjoying the chicken at first bite, what appeared to be a delicious meal quickly became a rather hair raising experience. The flavours were nice, I will say, but what isn t nice is finding four or five eyelashes in a single bite of buttery soft chicken and a few other mysterious black hairs in my naan. And when I asked for saag chicken, I did mean chicken the bird and not the often confused CHICK pea saag. Not a single piece of bird in the dish. These things were obviously upsetting, so a quick call I made to the restaurant to hopefully resolve the issue was just as upsetting. The man, remarkably arogant on the phone, claimed the eyelashes were bits of spice?? And then, after asking kindly if they could deliver us another saag chicken which we had paid for, they said they d add it on our next bill? Well what good is that when I m sitting here starving and I will likely never order from this establishment again? Note: ordered from skip the dishes.
Pizza hut was brutal. Same owners
only went once but the bhatura wasnt fried properly. most of it felt uncooked.
Food is alright but please dont make the mistake of ordering through Doordash. Both my previous orders took close to 2 hours to get delivered. When the food was finally delivered it wasnt even warm. Not sure who is at fault here but I am not ordering through the Doordash app again!
Karara has a variety of options. The food and service is really good and is quick as well. Paneer is my favourite here.
Spicy butter chicken and lamb Roganjosh is excellent. Naan is big and tasty. Even rice is nice. Eaten a lot of indian food and this place is best.
Pleasant customer service and great food! Thats how Id characterize Karara. My wife and I have ordered from here a number of times and weve always been very satisfied. Not only does the food taste amazing, but the customer service is friendly and accommodating as well. Although there are some small tables to dine in if you should choose, there really isnt much room in the actual establishment itself, but this makes complete sense, given theyve chosen to cater almost exclusively to the take it and go crowd. The only thing Id mention as to why I didnt give it a full 5 star rating, would be to say that for me, the tandoori chicken (which is also used in other dishes such as butter chicken), is a bit over cooked and dry IMHO, but the flavor profile is still fully intact. Delivery is offered via Door Dash (which is an awesome service in my opinion), so if you like Indian cuisine, then Karara is the place you need to check out!
Great food. Good customer service. Had the lunch special for 9.95, amazing value. Very filling!
Everything is way over priced
This is a takeout restaurant and our expectations were not for great food. However, what we got was pretty much inedible. Probably the worst food experience my life. The vegetarian dishes were almost all the same mushy goop. The goat was tough, sinewy and could not even be chewed. The Tandoori chicken was totally dry and tasteless. We ended up throwing most of it away. Truly awful food. I would not even give it 1 star, but Google will not let me give it 0. Stay away.
I ordered a butter chicken. Its my one of the worst order which I ever order and when we call them for complaint that guy who pick call he was showing attitude and disrespect toward us
Simply avoid this place if you can. If you like spending money to buy disappointment, this is the best place.
This is not good Indian food. Samosas are 5/10.(tamarin sauce served with samosas is old and they never gave mint sauce) Veg pakoras were terrible. Too much cauliflower not enough behsin flour, and very oily. Chaat papri was bad too. It didnt look like what a chaat papri should look like. The crispy wafers are suppose to be Round. Too much chickpeas, not much yogurt or tamarin sauce or mint sauce. These jokers have 4 locations in Ottawa. Unbelievable. Theyre probably getting most of their business from people who dont know anything about real Indian food.
This place used to be good and I have lots of meals form here. I used to rave about the place but now the food is poor at best. I stuck with it hoping it would improve but I have now had three bad meal in a row. The same dish never tastes the same twice. Tonight we threw away 3 of the 4 nan breads as they were hard and dense. The pakora was saturated with oil and one of them was uncooked inside, I had to spit it out into my plate! Giving 2 stars as there is hope if they just make an effort and care about the product going ou the door again. Looking for suggestions if anyone knows somewhere else to go.
For 20$ I got rice and chicken and it says meal for 2 definitely not.. for 20$ at roast and curries downtown I get Garlic Naan Bread , Curry , Rice , Salad a Samosa and a Drink. Food was good but over priced..
Called them after an hour and a half with no food, didn t even apologize, delivery guy didn t apologize, food was way over priced for being one of the most mediocre butter chicken I ve ever had. I will personally never order here again and hope anyone reading my review avoids this subpar restaurant like the plague
Very expensive for not much food. 3 entrees, 1 small portion of rice for $60. Do not eat here!
First time ordering. Food was excellent. Will try the Hakka next time!!
The food is good and being the only place that delivers in Stittsville .It is a life saver some days. They pay attention to feedback and the vegetarian dishes are tasty and spicy when we need. I love the palak (spinach) paneer, paneer tikka masala and the salt lassi on any day . Looking forward to my next visit
A bit pricey.. the veg thali is very simple and over priced.
Always amazing food!
This place is beyond the worst place, I have ever visited for Indian food, worst service( the guys didnt even bother to say hi or thank you, just handed me a menu in my hand and went inside), the chicken curry given to me had rotten onions, for your own health and your kids, avoid this place to go, however they have best samosas in kanata.
We have been ordering from Barhaven branch form the time they opened and all these years we were ga ga about them today we ordered some takeout from their Hazeldean branch and the food was not just bad but one of the dish was stale, it smelled of stale milk. And when we called him to tell that the food is stale the person on the other end of the phone was rude and abusive. Looks like things have taken a turn for the worse. Thank god we did not order for catering this time.
Amazing food and friendly staff.
Not bad it was ok. There are other places I prefer over this.
Awesome food. The food was freshly made and tasty. Wait time is average.
Best place for indian food. I ordered food for pickup during rush time and it was ready on time. The butter chicken and palak paneer here is incredible and the naan bread are delicious too. The price is reasonable too. You get what you pay for. Will be back
Awesome restaurant. Amazing flavors.
Excellent food and service. I ordered food for my house warming party for 120 people and it came out to be a right choice. Food was delivered well on time, packed well (no drippings) and was hot. Shahi Paneer, samosas and Naan were the best bet. Guests were pleased with the food taste and quality. Happy Guests, Happy me :) Thanks Karara !!
Great place to grab lunch. Service is quick and the food is great! Highly recommend.
Great place and great food, the chef is really helpful and nice! I used to eat here everyday when I worked close. Totally recommend this place. Thumbs up!
Absolutely amazing food!! Great place to bring anyone to introduce them to Indian food. All food is mild, and spice has to be requested which is a nice bonus.
Really good Vegi Samosa
Some of the items on menu not always available so I suggest call the restaurant 1st to confirm before online ordering. It takes about 40 min for delivery. Lamb madras and the naan was quiet delicious. Reasonably priced. Very polite over the phone .
Would be 0 if given the option. Almost 1.5 hours after ordering my food is cold. No apology from the driver or the store when I called. This is rediculous.
This is our go to place for Indian takeout. Great food!
Food was really good.
Had lunch and it was fresh, quick and delicious
