It is so colourful inside, the food is authentic and its obvious they take pride in their food. Their food is absolutely fantastic. For a Monday lunch there was no one except for my boyfriend and I. Staff was very friendly and food came out hot and quick. Love this place.

We were visiting family in Kanata and were craving Mexican, and we happened on this place. At first glance, this place isn t much to look at. But let me tell you the food was fantastic!! Soup- delicious, enchiladas- delicious, birria tacos- delicious , guac, pico, the crema & hot sauce so flavourful, so on point! And my server made my margarita perfect! I will be back every time I visit Ottawa. Hands down so happy with discovering this jewel in Kantata. Olé!

Went for margaritas and tacos on Taco Tuesday. Really enjoyed the spicy margarita and had a four different types of tacos that were all delicious. Tacos are average size so Id hesitate to buy them at full price but there are lots of other nice looking options on the menu. Hope to visit again soon! Vegetarian options: Two vegetarian taco options available: avocado and cauliflower.

Food was very good, service was friendly. The only comment I have is that the quantity of food for the price did not seem in line. 2 of us for lunch was almost $60 and we left pretty hungry still. Similar mexican restaurants in Ottawa would be probably 50% more food for the price.

We placed an online order for a group lunch. When the food arrived nothing was labeled and we had to look at pictures online and menu descriptions to find out who had what. Turns out one persons lunch was missing and had to be sent out later. Portions were small for what we paid. One taco salad bowel was $15 and looked like an appetizer. There was also no cutlery included. A couple of people were still hungry and had pizza.

Delivery missed 2 items and then they would not return any of my calls when I asked them to re-send the items.

I cant stress this enough. I order from this place every month, sometimes a couple of times a month, hoping it will get better, but honestly, it just keeps getting worse. The plates are insanely expensive almost $30 a plate for barely anything. They give you a small portion of rice, canned beans, a little bit of meat, and a mushy tortilla. It s so disappointing. They should feel embarrassed to serve their local community such tiny portions, with barely any taste, and at such high prices. They are beyond cheap! I ve said it many times, but this time I mean it I will never return.

Great tacos

We have been recently to this place . I believe going on a Tuesday night was a good choice for the taco price but the place looked kind of dead . The food was delicios and there was absolutely nothing I would have wanted different regarding the taste . We were a table of two , we ordered 2 tacos each , a quesabirria to share and a dessert for each . This was 75 cad . For dinner. for two . The food was great but the prices not so great, so I do not believe I would return.

The best quesobirria tacos I ve ever had. Truly sublime flavour. The green pepper house sauce is fresh and a good level of spice. I ll be back very soon!

The staff were lovely, honestly. I was pleasantly surprised at the great taco Tuesday deal :) I prefer when I dont have for water top ups or napkins, but we did have to ask (wierd considering the spicy finger food elements) Unfortunately the food was not as good as my first experience at the Merivale location. Our nachos (with guacamole) were stale.. (my husband doesnt like to complain about service, so I kept my mouth shut.) They just didnt taste fresh at all and the texture was stale. I heard the ladies in the table over make the same observation.. My tacos tasted OK, but ended up being very soggy due to how the shredded chicken taco was prepared. It seemed like they cooked the chicken in water, shredded it, amd then added sauce.... but didnt drain the water before adding sauce. That taco was dripping and left a puddle on my plate, making my other 3 tacos soggy :( Again, it all tasted good, but the preparation wasnt up to par, unfortunately.

Great atmosphere and service but the food I got was very bland, I got the enchilada and tamale and from what I have seen in the reviews its a common problem. I really hope they fix this in the future.

Im giving 3 stars for service because ei literally called an hour and 15 min in advance to pick up their 10 taco platter. I drove from brockville!!! was 10 min late and the food wasnt even started! I love the family and the food and know quality. My heart is broken because of this experience alone and will take a long time before referring people again or picking up for a girls night, of which i drove up for.

Would not return - visit was 26th April late afternoon.

They are still working it out - very pleasant people. Got the soup, which was . Amazing soup. Then the tacos. Got the platter, with 3 types. One was too salty, the other 2 lacked in salt. No problem, we will use the salsas they gave us. The green squeeze bottle didn t have much flavor, and the red (hot) followed suit They will absolutely get there - if the tacos were like the soup, it would be amazing.

I had an incredibly disappointing experience at this Mexican restaurant. The service was shockingly slow it took a whopping 15 minutes just to get a glass of water, and an agonizing hour to receive our food. It seemed like they were more focused on fulfilling delivery orders than taking care of their in-house guests. To make matters worse, when my food finally arrived, it was completely wrong. I ordered a vegetarian dish and was served chicken instead. Its frustrating when a restaurant cant get such basic details right. Overall, a complete letdown. I wont be returning, and I certainly wouldnt recommend this place to anyone looking for a timely and accurate dining experience.

First time trying this place. Big supporter of local business, but this time I have to say something. We ordered online directly from their own website. Payment is made when you pick up . When we arrived to pick uo, on a Tuesday, we noticed the signs up for Taco Tuesday and stated, oh in that case it should be less since its Taco Tuesday. They said no because we ordered online. How does that make sense? We ordered directly through them, came to pick it up, were making payment right then, not through another delivery service and they wouldnt honour what their signs in the restaurant said about Taco Tuesday!! Opened the 1 box with 9 tacos of different varieties, they were soggy, tiny and just ok. Actually not that ok due to being soggy. Nothing special. $80+ for 9 tiny tacos. Never again.

Wow what fantastic food!! Easily the best ceviche I ve ever had and tacos to die for. Margaritas were perfect and the sangria went down as easy as water. The staff we super friendly and made our visit very welcoming. Can t wait to get back there again

Mexican food is supposed to be tasty, spicy, flavorful. But unfortunately my experience here was really bad. The 30$ worth (one quantity) of enchilada was stale and tasteless. Definitely not an authentic a place for Mexican food. Too expensive food (not even in a prime location) for such little quantity.

Delicious nachos!

A wonderful small restaurant with amazing food. There is a choice in tacco for everyone with various combos of meat veggie and sauces, vegetarian tacos as well. The non tacco menu is equally as diverse with something for everyone. The most enjoyable aspect is the authentic Friday night mariachi band. The decor and atmosphere add to the charm of the restaurant.

The place is always empty as the service is not good. Also the atmosphere is not as good as the location in Merivale. But if you happen to be there you can get the Quesabirrias which are really good.

Phenomenal birria

Food was great. But expensive for the quantity / service provided. The total with tip for 2 people (6 tacos in total, 1 beer and 2 churros) was over 100$. Tacos are quite small (recommend at least 3 per person) and did not even get chips on the side or sauce with the tacos. Recommend shrimp and fish tacos, delicious.

This is a good Mexican restaurant, with authentic Mexican dishes and drinks. They have horchata (rice drink) and Jamaica (hibiscus drink) I had three tacos, tinga, chorizo and carnitas, all were good. There was also tres Leche cake. Food : 4/5

We went here for dinner, originally planing to go to the Turkish Cuisine place. But my wife and my son wanted to go to the Casa Mexico for dinner since they both love Mexican food. And since I love them, we did. We ordered a lot of food and after we were stuffed. Definitely a keeper on my favourite family restaurants! Though it is not cheap, everything is worth the price. The churros are extremely, tremendously tasty! Everything here brings my wife back memories of her life in LA, and giving me and my kids memories to cherish! We love Casa Mexico! Kid-friendliness: I brought my two kids. One is a 10 year old the other is a 5 year old. They really loved this restaurant.

A coworker mentioned there was a Mexican food place very close to work and after looking at the menu I knew I had to try it. The hostess greeted me and got me seated I mentioned I had never been here before and she gave me a suggestion and it was sooooo good! Ill probably butcher how to spell it but the barriatacos was amazing the tacos were super delicious and the consume to dip it in was unreal, I drank it down to the last drop. As I was leaving one of the chefs suggested next time I go for the carnitas taco and Im honestly considering going back in a few hours after I digest! All the staff were super nice and overall I had an awesome experience and I would recommend this place to anybody looking for some wicked mexican eats. Once again thanks so much for the delicious food!!

Traditional Mexican cuisine in a friendly setting. You could think you were in Mexico with all the staff speaking Spanish. Fast service.

We went here for my daughter s 19th birthday, excited as we had had a fabulous meal at the other location previously not only were 2 of the 5 plates brought out wrong (forgot the meat on both), we found the food generally bland, lukewarm, and overpriced. And no option for an alcohol beverage for our 19 year old to try!!! disappointed and $170 poorer. We won t be back.

This is complicated. Summary: Food is good. Atmosphere is blah. Staff is friendly. Prices are unreasonably high. We went in and immediately felt like we were in a diner or school cafeteria. It was too open, loud but not festive, boring, and way too hot inside. Yes the tables are decorated but the rest of the place felt so blah. It does not have the party vibe that the Merivale location has. Hopefully they can improve the experience after being open for awhile. ESPECIALLY the air conditioning. Although we walked out without ordering because it was unreasonably hot inside, we have eaten at the Merivale location a few times and found the food to be quite good and authentic. HOWEVER the prices are sky high. Vegetarian enchiladas for $25! Veggie taco is not worth the $6 (each!), its literally just random cooked veggies - no cheese or anything on it. I dont know if they have alcohol yet, but if so expect to spend at least $40 per person for a main dish and a margarita - more if you get an appy or dessert.

I think we were loud without a care in the world. The taco bowl was ok..more rice would have liked more beans less rice. The tacos could use a small sour cream dip. The chorooz dessert was good according to my friends.

Wow, absolutely amazing authentic food I cannot wait to try it again. They had a mariachi band in the restaurant when I went. They were extremely skilled and had a large variety of songs. You can tip them and ask them to serenade someone specific which is fun. It got very busy and there were a lot of reserved tables - limited seating in general. Id recommend a reservation or go early. About half the restaurant was various parties of young kids when I went. Definitely an overall loud night, but a lot of fun regardless. A must try restaurant! I believe they announce on their FB page when the mariachi band will be there.

Great service and clean, simple, happy decor. Visited on Taco Tuesday around 530 and it filled to almost capacity by 630. Hand sized corn tortillas with 10 choices. Guacamole is a recommend! Will return to try the tamales .

Very authentic Mexican restaurant. We went on a Friday night as there was a mariachi band playing. They were fantastic !! Ordered the nachos to start which were quite good. Main was chilaquiles (see photo) which was delicious. The restaurant itself has a very authentic feel to it but but the seating is a bit odd and cramped. Service was incredibly slow and maybe that was due to the fact it was busy with the band. Took us 30 mins to have our orders for drinks taken and then another 25 mins to have them served to us. We weren t in a rush and this gave us more time to enjoy the band but I don t imagine everyone would feel the same way.

Super authentic Mexican food. Was in town for baseball and searched birria found this place. Amazing birria and staff was really nice. Definitely recommend. Edit that I do agree price was a little high. Paid $30 with tax and tip for 3 tacos with dip. Birria hard to find tho so I was willing to pay anything just glad it was good

What a lovely little place! Definitely casual. The food and drinks were fantastic and the service was exceptional. Very friendly and pleasant. I had Quesabirrias (excellent) and my friend had the Tacos Dorados (also very good). We shared chips and guacamole which were tasty and churros, which were fresh, hot and delicious. Oh yeah, and we each had a perfect margarita! I would love to go back and try some more of their specialties. It was hard to choose one entree. Highly recommended!

My family got together here last night for my birthday, and it was an excellent experience! The food is always top notch every time we go, and last night was no exception. All of my family members, young and old, loved their meals. I personally love the Langua tacos. The staff is very quick and efficient, and very kind as well! Would recommend this place to anybody!

They made a job at putting some live into this cutely decorated restaurant. The restaurant felt really hot, as the sun was beaming in, the AC didnt seem powerful enough to make the place comfortable. Ordering was quickly and the food was quickly prepared. I had a mango drink with chamoy, guacamole and chips, (not pictured) birria and enchilada. The food was very tasty!! The portion was just right, which left us wanting just a bit more. However, I think the price was just a bit overmarket price.

This is a great little authentic Mexican Restaurant. Margaritas were outstanding and we re picky. I worked at the Lone Star for a few years. The food was really good too. I was sad to see it very quiet on a Saturday night. Kanata, we need to support this place it s great. If you tried it right when they opened, they were slammed and too busy then, I would say come give them another try. It s good!

Delicious authentic Mexican food.

Excellent food at affordable prices in a little slice of Mexico in Kanata. We went for a team lunch and were delighted with every aspect, the service was personable, the food delicious and they stock mexican coca-cola, jaritos and of course corona. We didn t have room to try the churros, but that just gives us a reason to go back. Thank you Casa Mexico!

Hands down the best nachos in the city! If you havent ordered them yet, you are missing out. March down there tomorrow and order them chicken or beef and prepare to never eat other nachos again.

We had a reservation for 6 didn t get served until after 7. The food wasn t even warm plus one dish was swimming in sauce. I will never try this place again.

Delicious food but I noticed the tres leches portion size has shrunk a bit, at least compared to the Merivale location. It also had a slightly odd taste, not sure what it was. It didnt taste spoil but a portion of it had a weird taste. We got tacos and it did add up quite a bit. Unfortunately it was only somewhat filling and for $40 with tax, its not something we could do everyday.

Great mexican food in the heart of poutine country. My wife and I have visited Mexico many times and always enjoy the variety if good Mexican food and this place is as close to food in Mexico I have eaten in Canada.

Fresh fresh fresh. This being our first time, we were pretty conservative in our selections, but everything was delicious! The pica de gallo and chips were tasty and clearly freshly made.The taco bowls shredded chicken was so moist and had such a nice assortment of flavourful ingredients that this will be my new comfort dish. The pastor ( pork) quesadillas were nicely seasoned with an assortment of spices, (including I believe, cinnamon.) And I cant wait to have the lamb side soup again on a cold day. Our waitress Paola was friendly and efficient, despite having several other tables arrive suddenly (mid-afternoon). Finally, the ambience is warm and colourfully festive, with latin music in the background. We look forward to returning and trying some of the varied regional dishes they offer.

We spontaneously went out to eat here and made a reservation by phone in advance. As a family of 6 meeting for dinner, we paid 18% more. I cant understand that. All in all a simple atmosphere. The service was very friendly and explained the dishes to us when we asked. Pay 18% more because we paid the bill for all 6 people together and didnt pay 2 + 2 + 2 people.

Tortilla soup (Grandmas recipe) was delicious. So many layers of flavours.

I came here for the first time based on the recommendation of a friend. At first, I ordered 4 different tacos, thinking that would be enough for 2 people. The employee suggested I should get one more, so I did. After eating 3 of the tacos, I seriously felt like I hadnt eaten at all. I was shocked at how tiny each of the tacos were. Attached is a picture of a taco next to a face mask as a size reference. The Gringa was probably the largest one (which I didnt get to try, unfortunately). Normally, its $9 each, but because of Taco Tuesday it was only $5, which was a great deal. I did try the Barbacoa which had shredded lamb, but I found it to be quite gamey. I also had the Pescado (fish) and Res (shredded beef), both of which were very tasty. Quality wise, I would eat here again, but next time Ill know not to go on an empty stomach. The portion sizes are more of a light snack, not as a main course.

My favorite restaurant in the Ottawa area. Tasty, fresh, and delicious. The Roja sauce packs a punch and is yummy, too! Friendly and quick service, and who doesnt love a good Luchadore mask?! Vegetarian friendly!

Absolutely delicious, authentic Mexican food in Kanata! We shared the Quesabirria platter (picture below) and it was amazing. The guacamole was fresh, the lamb soup was fantastic, so was the chicken soup and chicken Quesadillas. Also, the desserts were super yummy. We are so excited to have such an amazing new place right down the street from us. Thank you Casa Mexico! Kid-friendliness: High chairs available and chips/tortilla/chicken soup was a big hit for our 2 year old!

Ordered the steak arachera plate..arrived and steak was so tiny..paid $26 for this dish, not worth it. Then called to complain and manager said write a review and ask uber eats for my monet back lmao! Will be surprised if these idiots survive the winter!

New favourite taco place. We tried the carnitas, deep fried avocado, deep fried shrimp, pastor, chicken tikka and birria on their taco platter. All excellent! Being gluten-free it was easy to choose what worked best. Hidden away in a small strip mall it doesnt look like much but the inside decor, colourful walls and food make you very happy. Great friendly service. Next time we plan to try the lamb soup and definitely a margarita. Great place and amazing food. Only issue I have is the prices are pretty high. 3 tacos with no sides being over $18 is pretty pricey. I dont expect Taco Bell prices by any means, but bring it down a little.
