Tomaso Grilled Pizza & Panini in Kanata

Tried this pizza for the 1st time last night and it was AMAZING. Definitely order the when you re in town.

Pesto chicken panini was tasty, the chicken was chopped into good-sized chunks, and the bread was awesomely crispy. The pesto needed a boost from fresh basil.

Ordered a small pizza for takeaway today. It was just ok, I found the crust to be too tough. The customer service was unprofessional. The owner kept pestering me about why I didn t pay $3 extra to get a medium pizza instead of the small size even though I wasnt interested.

We placed a large office lunch order today (approx. 12 meals). It was our first time ordering from Tomasos and everyone was very happy with their order. The food and service was above average and certainly beyond what one might normally expect from a shopping mall location. They were able to accommodate a last minute change to both our pick-up time and order, which was appreciated. Highly recommend. Dietary restrictions: Gluten-Free

I ordered a pizza from work to pick up...I had done so in the past and was a fairly regular customer. I had to use the Skip the Dishes app because I forgot my bank cards at home. I was actually scolded by the owner for paying through skip, and not paying at the cash when I picked it up. I even explained why I had to pay that way, and he still complained that he loses money through these services. I guess you prefer people dont order at all, than use skip. He was unbelievably rude and I have never returned.

We ordered a variety of pizzas this evening for a family gathering. The order included vegetarian and gluten free options. They were great! And the GF pizzas were some of the best we have found in Ottawa. Tomasos is now a family favorite.

FANTASTIC! Contacted Tomaso to provide for 55 guests. He prepare a meal plan and put together a very attractive selection of Flatbread Pizzas Deep Dish Pizza, and Paninis. The quality of food was excellent. Really fun selection, and it was a great hit with the guests. What really makes this a five+ star review is that I got a call at about 9:00 pm asking if everything was to our satisfaction and if we needed a more Pizzas. If so, he would deliver more. Great service, good value for money, quality ingredients, and perfectly executed. A BIG thanks from the Kanata U18AA Blazers of 2023-24!!!

Tony has amazing customer service and even better pizza. If you want a quality pizza, this is the place. Dietary restrictions: Has no issues making adjustments and even remembered our order after the 2nd time around.

We ordered 3 small pizzas, go for it, pigs heaven and wannabe Italian. They were rectangular grilled thin crust pizzas. The pizzas were loaded with a generous amount of toppings and perfectly well done.

What a gem we discovered close to Landmark Cinemas Kanata. Our only complaint is we should NOT have waited until we got home, we should of ate in Tomasos, so we could experience that amazing taste of his combinations.

Easily the best pizza Ive ever had. Im always on the hunt to find good pizza or unique offerings, but this is the only place in the Ottawa region that Ill turn to. During my many travels, there are two things that I also try out in every new city: pizza and wings. I cant even guess at how many restaurants Ive been too over the past few decades. Although Ive found my personal favourite pizza place, Im still looking for decent wings around Ontario. Ive tried hundreds of restaurants so far including all of the recommended places. So far, the best wings Ive ever had were from a hole-in-the-wall bar that was in Northern Ontario.

Got a large good excuse to drink with a friend today for dinner, and I loved this pizza! First pie in Ottawa and I was really impressed with the flavour and texture of the crust. They cook the crust first, top it off, then cook it again. The result is a crispy crust with nice char, some grill marks(!!!) and nicely cooked topping with cheese that is super stretchy and melty. The sauce to cheese to topping ratio was also spot on. I like pizza with a pronounced sauce, and a lot of my complaints of other pizzerias are that they trend to be too light on the sauce. This sauce was bright and acidic and flavourful, and there was enough of it to stand up to the cheese and toppings. Lastly, even though the crust was very crispy, the inside of it was very soft and pillowy! I loved it. I would definitely recommend this to anyone in the area - you won t be disappointed!

A Kanata area hidden gem! We have been frequenting this cozy place for many years now. The food is excellent, the service friendly and the portion sizes plentiful. Parking is not available on site yet is a short walk away.

Took my little brothers here for a siblings night! The food was INCREDIBLE! The pizza is nice, it is a little bit oily. But I definitely 200% recommend the steak and cheese panini. A kanata wonder - very cute small town vibes and affordable prices

Tried the veg panini here. Tried the first time and it was okay experience. The taste was okay.

Outstanding service, we do not see that anymore, I was impressed. The food was great and I will return anytime possible. Had the deep fried pizza, but feel like I must try their pannini or pizza, great menu. Small and cozy, you can even eat outside. Service is so good that they will follow on and make sure you have warm food, even if they are busy.

Very familiar with the famous Italian panini sandwich. So I was disappointed with the steak and vegetable paninis. There was barely meat or vegetables.

Great pizza! I got the Detroit deep dish pigs on the ranch. Its not your usual Chicago deep dish. This deep dish is great as the edges are crispy and the dough is very fluffy. The toppings and tomato sauce were top quality as well. Its a bit more expensive than your other places, but the ingredients are fresh and its worth the price. 1 deep dish is more than enough for 1 person. I couldnt finish it, so it was worth the price in my book.

We went last night before the Bieber concert. Pizza was amazing. I ordered the deep dish Bianca. It was superb. My friends ordered Goat in the garden and pigs heaven and loved them. Quality of food and service is fantastic. I highly recommend Tomaso! Thank you for the delicious pizzas!

Visited: March 29, around 6 p.m. First time ever at Tomaso and I was impressed. I had Chicken in a Barb panini and my boyfriend had Pig in Heaven. Both tastes so goooood. I also had this Brio soda drink--my first time to have this and it has a unique taste though. The staff during our visit was nice and polite. Will be coming back, for sure.

I really enjoy the Detroit style deep dish pizzas here and get them regularly. Worth the drive to the Centrum. The wood fired pizza are also good. Their sauce and toppings have good flavour.

Stunningly delicious, a little change to the order (added spinach) est voila, Honestly perfect, crispy crust, delicious toppings not heavy on any one ingredient, a perfect pizza. This you could eat every night, lunch, breakfast(?)

Been trying all the Kanata pizza places and this is the best pizza in Kanata so far that Ive had in terms of quality. More of an artisan style place so dont expect a new york round pie. Still very much worth it. I had the Healthy Joys. My one advice would be to add a plain cheese to the menu. I feel its a must-have for every pizza place as thats my go-to slice, but maybe thats just me.

Walked in on a spur of the moment, so glad we did! The small pizzas we got were the Goat in the garden and the Turn into a Greek So very satisfying, the wood burning fire really takes the taste over the top. Change up your pizza go-to spot and come here, you wont be disappointed!

Not a big fan of Ottawa-area-style pizza. I find it heavy and greasy. This place has a different thing going on, though. I try to get it when I can, but its a ways away.

The portions are very small, I was shocked for $20 how small the pizza was... although its advertised a deep dish pizza, its not the classic deep dish pie youd expect with a lot of sauce, the pizza was still good though, but not deep dish

Had good memories of their service and food from before the pandemic but mildly disappointed today. Not very friendly and menu board lists different prices than charged and there was no effort to explain difference before paying. Not acceptable when there are so many other good choices around.

Great detroit-style deep dish pizza and regular pizza. The bianca was really great and I do highly recommend that one. Cant say Im exactly a fan of the calabrian chili on the fire in the hole pizza which was very sour/salty/spicy, but the fire in the hole deep dish pizza also tastes great without it. The deep dish pizzas appear to be small at first when you open the box, but because they are thicker they actually are quite filling (and they taste great of course). You will also find the toppings right to the edge, so the crust isnt really a thing as it is on a normal pizza - youll probably eat it without a second thought like I did. The goat in a garden was also quite good. I was sort of concerned about customer service looking at the tone of their response to other reviews, and while I do find that they can be direct in their phrasing (e.g. you know we close at 8pm when we placed an order for 730pm), I can sympathize with the small business owner trying to close up shop and go home to their family. Maybe just lighten the wording a bit.

Used to be exceptional thin crust pizzas with fresh ingredients. Detroit deep dish was once wicked awesome Classic says lots of pepperoni, but they are tiny and not enough.. Price went up and size went down. Less ingredients as well.

Went here for first time to have dinner before going to movie theather. We ordered a medium pizza for two people. The place is small for eat in but comfortable, they do take-out as well. The pizz arrived very quickly, thin crust. It was very good we would go again. Note they dont have a liquor license so only water and soft drinks.

We have had the pizza before, which was very good, but tonight we decided to try the paninis. We had the Gathering Strength and Join the Club. They were both full of goodies and so tasty. The service was quick and friendly. We are looking forward to ordering again.

I have 2 things to comment about. 1. Good side: Service was really good. I called in late on a Sunday evening and they accommodated a big order of around 175$ 2. Though all their items in the menu looked great and interesting. The bread on all the pizzas was very tough and it wasnt an easy task chewing up our 5 pizzas and a couple panninis. That part was very disappointed. For the money we payed I expected a better pizza.

A dear friend and I went to Perkins on Tuesday afternoon just for coffee. But I checked out the menu and my goodness, what a great variety. Including The Impossible Burger. Lots of great desserts too.A very pleasant place to meet up. Tables are set up so there is lots of privacy. Staff are very friendly and the coffee was delicious. I look forward to returning for a meal!

I had the Modest Start panini which was excellent. I will definitely be going back to have that again. And their tiramisu is also very good.

Also a great experience at Tomasos, even with the newly revised menu! I worked in Centrum for 3 and a half years and bought lunch from there at least once a week, there are great choices for meat eaters and vegetarians. Not sure if the owner Tomas is still doing pastas during because of covid, but Tomas has made specialty items for staff members where I worked in the past, that only he will make as to not share his recipes with just anyone. He cooks up an amazing Vodka Chicken Pasta with garlic bread that is to die for, if you ever get the chance to try this you re definitely lucky! Thank you for all the great meals

We have gone here a couple of times and this place has consistently the best pizza. Everything was fresh and made while we were there. The staff are friendly and really care about the food they are making. I highly recommend this place.

We discovered this place by chance a few years ago. It has just about the tastiest pizza in town. The decor is a bit Subwayish and could use an upgrade but prices are affordable. Had the vegetarian Wild goat pizza and a deep dish caramelized onion and truffle pizza. The complete meal was under 40.00$

Came here and got one of their Detroit deep dish pizzas. (Swapped out a slice for a friends). The deep dish pizza was quite good. Toppings were great quality and plentiful, and decent price. My only complaint was the deep dish crust was a little bit soggy on the bottom, if not for that, Id have given a 5 star.

Oh my god the pizza was amazing. Dont remember what it was called... the Greek one. It wasnt the cleanest place but the owner was nice, cared about his good and service, and made axing food. Good job.

I heard this place has been around a while I can see why. It s a casual eat in or take out, made to order pizza joint that I ll definitely be returning to. Decided to try this place for a different night out (different than the pizzas we normally get). Was very happy we did. The pizza was delicious. The toppings were fresh, the sauce was tasty, and the staff were very friendly. I was worried that since it had thinner crust that it would be dry, but it was nice and chewy (in a good way). Not much seating, but the food more than makes up for it. Well definitely go back again.

Good paninis, awesome vegetarian option. They need some better sides, though! Sauce provided tastes like a store bought ranch, and my chips came pretty broken up... kind of hard to dip like that.

Tried the margarita today and it was really good. The sauce was pretty good along with the crust. The cheese was good too but I wanted more. May come a little pricy for some, but I think it s worth it.

The pizza is actually decent but the prices are ridiculous. Im from Windsor where we really do have the best pizza in Canada, I ended up paying $60 for 2 large pizzas and thats outrageous.

This place is amazing. Nice little mom and pop sort of place. It was busy when we went. We were on our way to another place and the owner came outside and got us, letting us know that there was a table available as we were walking away. He takes pride in this place and his customers.

While the deep dish pizza is more like a pan pizza, the crust was buttery and soft. One of the better pizza places in Ottawa. A few tables for dining in but fairly crowded at lunch. More expensive than fiazza or chains.

Very good panini and pizza!! We got the classic Detroit deep dish and the slowdown panini. The pizza crust was delicious and the sauce was outstanding, really great tomato flavour. The panini was crispy and full of flavour! Definitely will come back!

Tomass menu is fantastic. You could literally eat everything on the menu..... its that good. Awesome service. Tomas is always there in the shop supervising things. A very humble and down to earth guy. Would recommend this place anytime. One of the best food joints in Ottawa. I wish they had a branch in Barrhaven!!!

Very good pizza. The grilling gives it a unique and delicious twist that puts it above your run of the kill chain pizza. Add to that the quality of the toppings and you have a great pizza.

Every time I go here, whether I eat in or order delivery, the pizza is always really good. I would also recommend the pasta, too. All of the different pizza flavours are really good and not like the ones you find in your typical pizza place. There is also a great selection of soft drinks to order too, if you eat in.
