Simbad Bakery and Persian Kabob in Kanata

Got a family platter for a work lunch event and everybody loved it: the flavours were really good and tabbouleh was fresh. Very accommodating staff.

Clear change in ownership, they do not cook their pies properly anymore. It s all cold and uncooked.

I just stopped in to try there meat and veggie pies. Well they are so good i came right back and bought 3 more and ate them ALL fir dinner lol. Very friendly staff also Food : 5/5

I ve had the chance to try this place twice so far since it was sold to a new manager/owner. The first time, I ordered zaatar manaeesh (pies) which were amazing! The zaatar smell and taste reminded me of home! Today, I tried some meat pies (lahme baajine) and chicken skewers. Frankly, those were the most tender chicken skewers we ve ever had in Canada! The meat pies were also very tasty! My kids enjoyed them! The staff were very friendly, professional and very kind! I received a great discount too! We will come back for a dine in next time for sure! All the best for the new management!

It was my first time here with my family. We had meat pies and some bbq, the meat was delicious and soft . The places was really nice and clean. Also for the amount of food we got the price was really good. I would totally come here again.

I hate to write a bad review because the food is good and the staff are kind, but this place is just so unreliable. The hours seem to constantly fluctuate. Google said 8, they closed before 7. And good luck getting the manoushi you want if its within a couple hours of closing. Tired of being disappointed.

I stop here weekly for a flatbread. It s a meal all on its own and so delicious. We ordered a kabob platter our family dinner last week and it fed a big group with food to spare. We all agreed that everything was delicious and fresh and this will be a regular family takeout meal for us The staff are friendly and helpful. I can t recommend this place enough!

The worst experience with Sinbad Bakery, where I made a mixed order for a party three days before the appointment and gave him my mobile number. When I came to receive the order, he surprised me that he did not make it and the worker told me that the bakery owner is responsible for the orders and he did not inform me in advance so that I could manage my situation, so I asked to meet him, but he refused to meet me and ran away. Through the back door, leaving the worker who knows nothing to face my wrath.....I advise against trying this dirty place, as there are many alternatives.

This is a Lebanese bakery / sandwich take out place. I go strictly for the Zayar and Fatyre and cheese bread. Not much else is available for me but its good. There is a language problem but if you know a little Arabic you can get by. Food

It s a new place on Hazeldean Road and it is an amazing addition to Kanata s ethnic cuisine scene. This place offers two things: pies and kebabs. We ordered a family platter, Simbad Special, that came with 5 kebab skewers, rice, salad, and sauces. The kebabs were fantastic, and the salad was really good. I will definitely be coming back and recommending this place to my friends.

The best food you can have here in Ottawa west. The meat is perfectly cooked, flavored and tender, the salad is so fresh I can t recommend this place enough. My family and i go to Simbad weekly for meat pies- the service is always friendly and the food is tasty and consistent. This past mothers day we decided to finally try their platters and wow!! We were ten adults- all raving about the mouth watering filet mignon and tender chicken. It was delicious.

I am going to simbad since they opened for pies. My whole family loves their pies and friendly service. I never tried there kebabs before. My family love kebabs. We tried all different places in the city. On Mother s Day for dinner we decided to order from them.I was little nervous to order family platter. But I ordered two. Food was so delicious hard to explain . My family was keep admiring the food that we never had tasty food like this anywhere else. I give them 100% for food and friendly service. Looking forward to order again.

Known in our family for their kindness and unmatched quick eats, Simbad offers our family an excellent dinner option in their Persian Kabob. The charcoal-grilled kabobs are tender, well-spiced, and nourishing. The garden salad always comes fresh and crunchy. Dont delay on a family platter, friends (along with some chicken thigh kabob). This is an excellent place for a quick lunch. It is busy, but not crowded. The food is hot, fresh and delicious! The only negative thing is the dry goods being stored in a corner of the dining area. They need a small storage room to keep this all out of sight of customers. I will DEFINITELY return here, the next time Im in Ottawa! Parking: This bakery is located in a strip mall, so there is plenty of free parking out front. The mall appears to be well maintained and pleasant for customers and tenants. Kid-friendliness: They have highchairs conveniently located for customer use. Wheelchair accessibility: The bakery is accessible for wheelchairs.

Called in today to put in an order for 7 cheese pides, they said no problem. 20 minutes later I go to pick it up and they say you wanted the spice one right? And I said no, I asked for seven cheese pides and the response I got was well we dont have any cheese pides left this is all we have as they presented me the bill. I felt rushed and pressured so I just went with it, but hindsight is 20/20.Disgusting. Never buying from here again.

Aside from them being delicious, affordable and quick to order, the service there is top notch. Everyone weve had the pleasure of dealing with has been incredibly kind and generous. Love this place!! I highly, highly, highly recommend Simbad bakery and Persian kabobs. We have tried them few times either enjoying the food their as dine-in or take-out order and every time they have exceed our expectations. Everything is always fresh, well cooked, well served with very generous with their portion size when it comes to the pricing. Mr. Shams and his staff are very courteous, friendly and accommodating. This definitely is our go to place especially for fresh Persian food.

They Absolutely have no clue of how to make a decent persian kabob. Awful & total waste of money. Never going back. Dont recommend it at all. The kabob was so dry & tasteless.

I buy Koobides from here every Friday night. The kababs are juicy and full of flavor. Their rice is decently portioned and cooked to perfection. Having tested all Persian kabab places in Ottawa, I can say Simbad is by far the best. We also buy two meat pies every time we visit to eat on our way back home. It s really hard to say no to them. One feedback I have is to make chicken leg kababs available, and increase store hours on Friday and weekends.

Google needs to allow 6 stars for this one! Hands down the best Persian BBQ in town. I personally drive from Orleans to enjoy proper charcoaled ( not gas) BBQ meats at Simbad. So if your craving for good juicy Persian bbq experience like the good old days, look no further and come try this amazing spot. I promise you will add this place to your A list. PS Sometimes, I also order from Simbad when people are coming over and I tell them I cooked it myself.

Simbad bakery and Persian kabob place is my fav when I have to pick fresh bakery products and freshly grilled kabobs for a Friday evening. They serve halal food so it s a good option for people who eat halal meat. The kabobs are nice, juicy and tender. I love their flavour and would recommend folks living in Kanata and Stittsville area to try them out atleast once.

This place is a weekly trip for me! The meat pies are by far the best in Ottawa, especially Meat+Cheese. The staff are very nice, and the location is in a very reachable area. This place deserves 10/5 stars! Dietary restrictions: My brother was allergic to zaatar, and the chef made sure that the zaatar was packaged separately away from his order.
