Great staff and food is always fantastic.

Great food, the Oktoberfest menu is really good, highly recommend.

The food quality barely diminishes with takeout, so we still get a great meal at home. Quality is also always consistent.

If you want to merge with local community and patronize a place where you want to meet familiar faces in your neighborhood and would like to find similar jazz ,country ,dart enthusiasts and merge with a vibrant kanata community this is the place to be. You will also find a friendly staff who can recognize you on your next visit.

Food always is better than expected for a pub. The staff is always friendly and courteous. Very clean too. Their online reservation is also very personal which is a nice touch.

Worst customer service

We were a total of 5 people and the waitress was very rude, she just came in immediately after we sat down and threw the menu and started asking what we want to drink. And left immediately and never came back even after 15 min of waiting. And didnt even care to ask while we were leaving..poor customer service and vert rude waitress

Nice place to drink a beer with friends

Fish undercooked on fish n chips, kind of pink and left a funky aftertaste. Barbecue sauce on the smoke burger was funky. Server was friendly but not very attentive. Way too pricey for quality and atmosphere!!!

Took 15 mins to get noticed and served and literally fell asleep waiting to get served another pint of beer the service was slow I don t think I ll go there again to be honest .

Jay and company always make me feel at home and friendly. There is a level of hospitality and respect that is lacking from corporate establishments that this place fulfills but the staff takes an everyday pub to a friendly place where everybody knows your name.

All of the Royal Oak locations are great but this one in particular had an awesome staff and atmosphere.

My sister and I meet every two weeks here for breakie on Sundays. The service is excellent and its still quiet enough to have a good conversation. It is a pub and the clientelle and staff seem to enjoy the atmosphere! Price is ok. Its location is kind off the beaten path but good parking available. Not sure of the evenings but I am sure it would be the perfect place to sit and have a beer and watch the game!

Fish and chips were good. Good portion size, apple crumble was good as well. Service was prompt and friendly.

Bit pricey for food and drinks, but what pub isnt these days? Great open mic. The bartender was excellent.

Be careful about the price of your draft beer on your bill. We experienced it twice that beer with special price got changed fully in the bill. Yesterday was even worse, to avoid unhappy experience we had at the first time, we doubled checked the price with our waitress when ordered, but still got mistakenly full charged. When we asked, the girl randomly made up a reason like that price includes the tax which couldn t hold any ground since the 13% tax of everything we ordered was clearly listed right below. I don t want to speculate what s the cause of this mis-price, but the way that waitress handled it was far away from professional. Not going there again.

What a treat to find a restaurant open late these days! The wings were very good, the bartender was very nice - i will be back! Please don t change your hours, sincerely anyone and everyone who works nights and likes to eat out. Update to my post: went back for a second night only to find out they only offer a late night menu which is stripped down to burgers, wings and finger foods. Very disappointed after driving out of my way to come here after work.

A very loud place, but it is after all, only a bar not a family restaurant so dont expect much in the way of a varied menu nor quality of food. It amazes me the number of people who guzzle swill and then drive. Wheelchair accessibility: A very spacious wheelchair accessible washroom. Parking is very limited.

This place is all right, nothing special. Id give it 3.5 if I could. The food is markedly better at the barley mow for roughly the same price

Ive given up on ever eating here again - running the gauntlet of smokers at the doorway is just too disgusting. The last straw came when I even had to put up with the smell of cigarettes while eating inside. Completely ruined that meal.

Just came in for drinks and nachos, first round of nachos was too salty to stomach so they remade them and it took 30 mins wait each time. Total of 1 hour wait just for nachos. Caesar s were good though. But wouldn t return.

Delicious fish and chips, nice atmosphere and plenty of seating. We had an opportunity to play trivia on Saturday night too, lots of prizes and an excellent host. Good selection of beer on tap too

Went here for a friends 30th birthday and was so lovely. The server was friendly, fun and attentive. Great food too!

Went to Royal Oak after Covid. Never disappointed, friendly cosy pub. London pride and ESB are no longer on the menu which is a real shame. Live music starting on Tuesdays bit check with pub on timing.

5th time in Ottawa, 1st time in the Royal Oak. Had a brilliant night before heading back to the UK. Our server Rylan made me my own personal mudshake drink. It was amazing. I had the best night. I will definitely be going back there on my next trip to Ottawa. Great entertainment and food. Great place.

Good is always amazing. Tyler is best chef. Server Drayden makes the experience at the oak such a fun time. Drayden is absolutely best.

A great place for post line dancing

Seated, not busy; then waited ~20 mins, no attention, no drink order taken, no server checked with us, others served and tables around us cleared. Left and went to a neighbouring pub as the Royal Oak hadnt earned our business.

As usual, staff welcoming and good food.

The staff and management at this location are the best in Ottawa. I worked in a few bars in Ottawa and as someone from the industry I always loved coming here. Honestly from the kitchen staff to management they have such a good team. Keep up the great work guys you deserve the best.

Great food and staff

Was there for 2.5 hours with my gf . We had food . My gf got cut off after 2 drinks . According to them, 5oz of alcohol in 2.5 hrs and with food is too much . I got my bill, and they tried to charge me for extra drinks that they never brought to the table . Not sure the waitresses name, but she was medium high, blonde. Never going back again

I have been coming to the Oak for many years. Staff are freindly; a lovely place to go.

The Windsor Chicken sandwich was great. I didnt like the key lime cheesecake though.

Never heard of this pub chain but it was excellent - had their Oktoberfest beer (polander- think that was it). Was very good and the chicken pot pie was very good. Will be back

I came here for the trivia and I wasnt disappointed.

The food was not great - undercooked for my husband - shepherds pie, and burnt for my chips. My wings were not tossed in sauce properly either. Our food was cold. They never asked me about my food, and did not even give me the opportunity to talk to our sever about it. Had to keep flagging our server down to get just one pop for my husband, after he finished his Caesar. They had three people playing instruments and singing super loud, and it was worse than listening to a bad karaoke night. First time in many many many years I have been at a Royal Oak, and most likely the last time.

The service has always been great. Always enjoyed the food! and its hard to find a place that compares to this Oak in terms of atmosphere and the good crowd it draws in. Any low reviews would be from people you dont want to sit beside anyway

Dinner and trivia here is always a fun time! The staff are fun and friendly, and the meals are good quality. Warm, cosy atmosphere, without feeling too close or confined (so important these days!). They have a nice variety of food, and it always tastes great. Plus, if you win first prize at trivia, you ll even get a gift card for the restaurant, so that s a nice bonus :) Parking: Plenty of parking spots on the strip, at least for the evenings when the stores nearby are closed. I would assume that there is no issue finding a spot during the day either, but couldnt say for sure. Delaney, kind of a big deal.

Everything was good, but I ordered a Steak and Mushroom pie but was served a chicken pie. The excellent waitress apologized and since I had to try the pie to see it was wrond, told me to eat what I wanted of it and she gave me a Steak pie with a new side to go. The chicken pie had way too many peas for my liking but was very good otherwise. The Steak pie was much much better, even ater reheating it.

Fish & Chip Fridays are great! Nice atmosphere but a little noisy. Good beer selection as well!

Friendly staff and great place to have a after work

Food was OK, but mediocre. Service was also OK, but mediocre. Nothing wrong with the place, but also nothing worthwhile about the place. Much better places in Kanata.

Took in St Patricks day at the oak. Good atmosphere. Chicken nachos and deep fried curds were delicious.

Best food & service!

6 of us went out for lunch on Wednesday, April 6. By the time we ordered and received our food, over an hour had gone by. This was the same for others who had arrived at the same time as us. We did not get any updates from the staff or even whether we wanted any drinks during this wait. We had to wave down our waitress who avoided eye contact with us, just to get an update and ended up asking for our bills before the food even arrived. The food was ok, basic pub food, but would not recommend coming here if you are expecting good service and a reasonable timeframe to receive food.

Cranberry turkey brie is now just a spread. Turkey is lower quality then before. Cranberry spread tastes awful.cranberry spread? Really?! 19$ and yall cant afford a cranberry? Staff were so kind and awesome. To the corporate staff your food is low quality, frozen never fresh with no flavour. Your company and food is a disgrace since covid. Dont take it out on the underpaid staff!!

Generally I dont give bad reviews, but my last visit here warrants an update. We dropped in for lunch on a weekday. The place wasnt at all crowded but a few other tables were occupied. Our food took about an hour, and when it came out both orders were wrong. Then after I waited for mine to be corrected it was still not good food. Hopefully they were just having a bad day, but itll be a while before I go back again.

Staff was super friendly! I was there on a Saturday, around 5 p.m. It wasnt overly busy, probably 40% capacity, and we must have waited for our menus for about 15-20 mins. Then once we were attended to, we waited another 25 mins just for drinks. One of our friends attending never received his drink. After a solid 45 mins, I just walked up for the bill. Wouldnt recommend unless you genuinely dont mind waiting. Nice people, slow service.

Lunch time service was extremely slow. It took over an hour for our meals to be delivered after ordering. Obviously not enough staff even though it was not busy. Will not return!

I ate here with my family the other weekend and found it to be really nice! The food was very good, the choices were plentiful between brunch and lunch options and the staff was courteous and attentive. The atmosphere was relaxing and the cost of our family meal was really surprisingly low. I would definitely eat here again if I am in the area

Bust night (Brian Adams concert) we were a party of 6, our server was great and we were aware they were behind in the kitchen. No worries we were enjoying our beverages. It was 7:30 and the entertainment started. It was way too loud. 1 guy 1 Amp. Not many left in restaurant. I mentioned to server but the volume was too high. We had to yell at the table and that was annoying. At 7:30 background music is good but maybe increase the volume as the night progresses.

Wicked curry sauce on the chicken sandwiches, the kids meals were 10 bucks and absolutely served healthy sized chicken strips. Very impressed for a bar like setting. Staff/waitress was great with our three munchkins! Ice cream and all!
