This is by far the best sushi place! The customer service is absolutely amazing, the people who work here are extremely kind and pleasant and very welcoming. The food is also amazing rice is always cooked and seasoned well. The sushi and poke bowls have never disappointed and are filling and well priced. They also keep the kitchen area clean and neat. The employees complete good hand hygiene. Ill be a forever customer here amazing service and food!

For a local sushi shop , even though not the best I had . The food is very decent. Service is super quick and good and welcoming Portion : never saw any shop so generous with the portion Food: super fresh Im not from ottawa so maybe that s why taste wise it s not perfect for me I think the soya sauce is slightly too salty . Poke bowl just too much rice so it s hard to finish ( not because of quantity but because usually sushi rice are mixed with vinegar which make it hard to eat a lot ) . Im used with my poke bowl less rice and more salad

I was pleasantly surprised by the chicken poke bowl, it was incredibly tender and I was initially hesitant to try it because my experience with chicken poke bowls from other places has often left me disappointed. Typically, the chicken is dry and chewy as if it had been sitting out for hours but not here. The beef poke bowl was equally impressive and again, tender and flavorful. I m not usually a fan of kimchi and have tried it at several restaurants but this one changed my mind. It was well seasoned and had a mild flavor without the overpowering taste that I usually dislike. The portions were generous and perfectly balanced with just the right amount of rice, vegetables and meat. I ve had a lot of takoyaki in the past but this one truly stood out. The sauce was incredibly well balanced and seasoned, enhancing the overall flavor. The tempura was cooked to perfection, though I felt that the mayo sauce didn t quite pair well with it. In my opinion, the traditional Tentsuyu sauce would have complemented the tempura better but that s just a personal preference. The nigiri sushi was fresh and well prepared, rounding out an already delightful meal. Lastly, by the moment I walked in, I was greeted warmly by the owner with a big smile. The welcoming atmosphere, along with the excellent food, made this experience memorable. I highly recommend giving this place a try, you guys won t regret it

Food was fresh and very delicious, I had a poke bowl and tuna roll, both were excellent. Staff was kind, engaging and attentive as I dined in. Shop was clean with a simple decor. I would highly recommend and will be returning.

Picked up a salmon sushi burrito from here for lunch. Very fresh and tasty. Would recommend ordering ahead as it can be a bit slower (I think its a husband and wife team). They gave me a free drink while I waited though!!

the staff was super friendly and polite at pick up. The food was very fresh. We ordered a few different types with Spicy mayo and there was barely any on the rolls. the ratio of food to spicy mayo was way off. Gyoza was very good. Soy Sauce seemed watered down which was also disappointing. next day left overs were good with some added homemade spicy mayo. continued to go here. asking for extra spicy mayo has made everything better. the price for what they provide is amazing. Parking: knowing this location parking can get tight at lunch time

This is the second time I order from them. Very generous and the sushi tastes so good. They even added sesame balls and shrimp tempura for free with my order. I will definitely be going back again. Best sushi in Kanata so far.

The couple that we usually talk to are SO nice! We commonly get free drinks or little extras that they home-cook to go with our meal. One of the best places around Kanata - 10000% recommend.

So I am very sad today. I havent been here in a few months - since summer.... The prices have gone up - by a dollar which is fine... But they actually got rid of a bunch of ingredients from the poke bowl!!! It used to be my fav place for poke. Conveniently located too.. but I feel slightly ripped off. Like the poke bowl itself is.. fine... But I miss the tomato! And seaweed salad! And the tangerine!!! I am now looking for a new place to get poke. Mr Poke looks most promising so far, with the similar ingredients this place used to have. Its a sad day.

Very fresh ingredient! Their super Poké bowl is super good. They have interesting thoughts about what to put in their sushi and results are surprisingly good. Highly recommended their all kinds of rolls really. For that price tag, you are getting more than you pay for.

My new favourite place for Sushi in Kanata. Great value for my order, great flavour, everything was fresh. Though honestly while the salmon burrito was a fun novelty, I wouldn t order it again. It s too difficult to eat and is just better off as a poke bowl. Ill do that the next time i go.

Such a lovely couple who makes great sushi/maki. Great portion sizes! My favourite is the salmon burrito but today I decided to buy maki rolls and they did not disappoint. Made my day! Highly recommend this place if you re craving some sushi but don t want to go to an all you can eat. There are only two very small bar tables you can sit and enjoy but otherwise it s great for take out and a quick healthy lunch/dinner outing.

Had ordered a party sushi set for dinner a couple of days ago. Salmon, both sushi and sashimi, had little to no fat. The thickness of the cuts could only be compared to slices of meat for korean barbecue. Pricing is comparable to other sushi places in Kanata, but the guy did provide free drinks upon pickup. If youre looking for a good deal then this is the place to go, but if youre looking for a good value, I can only recommend searching elsewhere for takeout sushi.

Writing this review after my familys second visit to GoGiYa. The sushi is visually breathtaking, fairly sized, and simply to die for. The owner is extremely kind, generous, and welcoming. We will come back here every opportunity we get!

Just finished our amazing dinner from gogiya sushi & poke at it was incredible. Our second time here and its only getting better everytime we dine or take out. We had the super poke bowl, crispy chicken sushi burrito and the GoGiya chicken. The poke bowl was fresh and flavorsome from the fresh tuna,salmon,shrimp & veges & fruit along with the nice size serving of rice. The chicken was awesome and really cool that its boneless and bite size. My husband enjoyed the burrito immensely & he isnt usually a fan of nori wrapt sushi, but he loved it. The service on pick up was lovely as always. Very friendly kind and greeted with a big smile both entering and leaving. We were lucky enough to try the vege gyoza as we spent a certain amount and the crispness and filling inside were splendid. We have moved here from NZ and this is by far the best place Ive eaten from so far and weve tried alot of places. Would highly recommend this place to anyone and cant wait to go back again. Vegetarian options: Vegetarian gyoza were amazing Parking: Free parking and alot of space in the parking lot and on the roads beside the place.

Ive been visit Gogiya all year, and the experience has been consistently wonderful. They offer ambitious dishes in generous portions, with great attention to detail, and service with a smile. Notably, their poke bowls are the closest Ive found to my favourite spot in Los Angeles, and their takoyaki tastes one-for-one with any Ive grabbed in Tokyo. Kanata is lucky to have them! Dietary restrictions: They do very well to omit parts of dishes over dietary restrictions when requested in advance

In the last month or so, their poke bowls are consistently missing ingredients like kani salad, mandarin oranges and pineapple. Otherwise their online menu descriptions need to be updated to accurately reflect what the customer should be expecting. Its too bad they are not as 5-star quality as when they first opened.

It is a small sushi shop but the freshness and the good price is worthy the trip. My new fav.

Great food! Staff was super friendly. Price might seem a little expensive but for the amount of variety you get in the bowl + the serving size its definitely worth it. Tasted amazing - explosion of flavours with the amount of different stuff they put in there. Definitely coming back!
