Holy smokes this Vietnamese restaurant is a gem its a cut above what you can find in kanata. I recommend the pork chop and the chicken or beef rice wraps (pre rolled) they use fresher ingredients and they cook their food perfectly Ive had other good Vietnamese food but chez lam is the best !

This was more of a fusion restaurant and definitely not authentic Vietnamese. The food was very bland. Menu was really big and confusing. Seemed like most of the dishes were just different versions of the same meat and veg.

AMAZING!!!! Food is always good and fresh! I love their Pho and BBQ Chicken vermicelli. Marinated chicken breast tasted fantastic, which is much better than many other vietnamese restaurants, using dark meat instead of white meat.

Stay away from the dry chicken slice items. The beef has a nice charcoal flavor, the broth is salty and tastes like a chicken base pho. Summer rolls full of lettuce barley 2 shrimp in both rolls, and like the lady said below. Peanut sauce lacks peanut flavor. Nice gentleman serving. But I come for food and wont go back.

They have a vast menu of mostly Vietnamese diseases. I have tried quite a few items, from wonton to pho to stir fry dishes to sizzling, and every single item I tried was delicious. But the best part of this restaurant is their staffs, who are very friendly and welcoming. 5 star for the service!

I love the bo kho, vietnamese beef stew and their spicy chili paste. My favourite Vietnamese restaurant in Kanata. My go-to when I need a good meal to bring my morale up or whenever I dont want to cook but eat something good and healthy.

The best noodle soup ive ever had. And easily one of my fav asian restaurants in Ottawa. The spring rolls were so yummy and can come gluten free. The menu is expansive with so many options. Lastly, it is family owned and staff are so so lovely. I am always happy to support a place like this. We will be back!

Quiche was a bit to salty for my taste. Couldnt even finish it. The Vietnamese sausage was disappointing because I thought it would be Vietnamese Nam Nuong. The Vietnamese sausage is just like the Chinese sausage you can get at any asian grocery store. The pork chop however I did enjoy but thats about it. Same veggies as most Viet restaurants included with this dish. Overall not impressed but Ill order three more dishes in the near future and update my review.

I usually order the crispy noodles and they are always fantastic. Decided to dine in today and switch it up with the beef, pork and chicken vermicelli. A nice light meal with very tasty meat and great spring rolls. We had excellent service as well. Looking forward to trying some different next time.

Chez Lam is one of my very favourite restaurants. The food is delicious, and well priced. We ve been getting food here for takeout for years, but tonight was our first time eating in. We were treated so kindly, and the service was brilliant. I m especially fond of their BBQ pork, and their egg noodle soups. My children love their beef with rice. I highly recommend going in to eat, or getting something for home. You really can t go wrong with Chez Lam.

This was probably the best Vietnamese food experiences I ve ever had. The bubble tea was amazing, the beef was phenomenal. You should really consider going to this restaurant if you would like delicious Vietnamese food!

Chez Lam has delicious vietnamese dishes and a large and nice dining area. We had the Chicken and Lemongrass Vermicelli and the Beef and Chicken Vermicelli; and both were delicious. My beef was deliciously seasoned and the chicken was tender and savoury. Portions are generous and vegetables fresh. Unlike other Asian restaurants in the area, we find Chez Lam serves good food that is not too salty, not MSG ladden, not too spicy, yet savoury and authentic. I have been about 3-5 times to Chez Lam in the past 2 years, and it has never disappointed. I will be back more often.

If you re looking for delusions Vietnamese food in Stittsville, Chez Lam is the spot! We ordered Pork and Vegi spring rolls for starters, they were crunchy on the outside and very tasty! If you like spicy, their chili oil is amazing! Main meal was Pho, which my wife had and enjoyed very much. I personally ordered the Sataued shrimp and beef, beyond satisfied! Service is top notch as well, overall I had a great experience!

My buddy and I went here for dinner last Saturday and the food was delicious!! I had the Chicken Vermicelli with spring rolls and he had the Beef Pad Thai. The food was really good, staff was very kind, and the prices were good too in my opinion. We will definitely be coming back soon. If youre on the fence about trying Chez Lam I strongly recommend that you do.

Attracted by good reviews though unfamiliar with Vietnamese food, we decided to try out Chez Lam. Interior of the restaurant was basic but not unpleasant. Soft drinks were served in cans with straws. The menu card was extensive and our choices were served fast. Food quality, taste and portion size were all good. Service was very polite and friendly. Prices were reasonable. Ordered the curry lemongrass beef dish, the flavour was good, the meat are sliced thin and dry as it was overcooked. For the price your paying, I expected a descent amount of meat but there was more onions and peppers then beef. The dish is small but it looks big in the picture. My friend and her family ordered this dish and recommended as it was good and had alot of beef hence I came to try it. I was eating solo vs eating with a group of people that would be sharing there food so maybe they decide to shrink the portion size but they are definitely not consistent.

This restaurant is a complete disaster right away noticed how our chop sticks and spoons were dirty, glasses of water were dirty and when we told the staff all the did was take the cup and fill it back up with the dirt still in it!! The staff do not understand anything being said to them. Food on the menu and food served to you are completely different.. THE FOOD HAD HAIR IN IT AND THE OWNER STILL TRIED TO MAKE US PAY FOR IT! WE DIDNT RECEIVE THE DRINKS UNTIL HALF WAY THROUGH THE MEAL. THE DRINKS WERE LESS THAN HALF FILLED THEY JUST PUT ALL ICE IN IT (Photo to follow) WORST EXPERIENCE AND STAFF DEFINITELY NEEDS MORE TRAINING AND KITCHEN NEEDS TO BE UP TO HEALTH CODE.

Went here to lunch with friends. Food was great specially the soup. Service was quick and the staff seemed friendly. Seating furniture and table seemed little wobbly and needs to be looked at by mgmt. No issues with parking as well. Restaurant has restroom too. Will be back again hopefully.

We ordered P3 & B4, both were very good. The noodle broth was one of the best I had in Canada.

Not busy on a Friday nite. Party of 4 seated immediately without a reservation. Spring rolls were good. (especially the peanut dipping sauce). We ordered various dishes including pho and vermicelli. All good except the grilled chicken Bún Gà N ng which I found underwhelming.

I do not often review Pho restaurants as they are usually very similar in quality and cleanliness however from a Vietnamese guy, I would definitely rate this as above average. The pho noodles reminds me of the ones my mom used to make. Place is very clean and spaceous. If you are just travelling through like me and not familiar with the area, this is the place stop at. Price vs quantity was pretty good considering the large bowls you get here is typically be XL at most other places. Finally the tea they give actually tastes like rea l green tea vice brown hot water at most Vietnamese restaurants that Ive been to; and I have been to many.

First of all I didnt want to write this and I tried to support them up until now because I liked their food but they are unprofessional. I have been a REGULAR customer (daily) for the past 1 year and a half, ordering the same dish, and for the past 3 months or so every time that I picked up my food they charged me a different price. Sometimes it was the price registered on the menu and sometimes 2,3 or 4 dollars more... Depending on the day and the cashier I guess.. I didnt say anything up until recently where I had a conversation with the owner and he told me it is what it is with no explanation..Again, if there was a reason for that I would at least try to understand and if not, I would just stop going there but I wouldnt write a review. It is not so much about the one, two, three or four dollars extra but you have to be sincere with your customers. Especially a regular customer that pay you on average 500-600$ per month. Great way to treat your regular customers guys. But its ok.. You just lost one regular customer for 1 or 2 or 3 dollars extra Ultimately, I dont recommend this place(I used to) and if you do always check the prices and what they are charging you...every time..

Average taste, but good service

Its a good spot for some Pho. They have a decent lunch menu and very fast service. Lunch was very tasty and the portions are very generous. Parking: Its a pretty busy spot with lots of businesses around. But, you can usually find a spot here and there.

Extremely bland food. Fried rice was just plain rice with carrot and peas in it. The chicken was dry and the broccoli was just steamed instead of actually fried. The portions were also very small for the price.

Ordered for pickup today. This was the first and last time we have ordered from them. I was looking forward to a delicious dinner. It was actually terrible. The food looked like it was someone s left overs.. just plopped all together in the container. I had a piece of hard plastic in my dish. Beyond that the taste of the food was absolutely disgusting. No I did not complain or give them a chance to explain or fix the situation. There are many restaurants in this area that are probably struggling to stay open. I would think they would have had some care in the food they were putting out. Sadly this was an absolutely failed dinner.

Chez has been my go to for Vietnamese in the west side area of Ottawa, their large fresh shrimp rolls are so tasty with their peanut sauce and their cold fish sauce Bun rice noodles are sooo good. Dont sleep on their rice dishes either. Highly recommend them!

Good quality Vietnamese! Com dia (grilled meat on rice) is my go-to order here, along with spring rolls. Be sure to ask for extra fish sauce! It goes well with both spring rolls and com dia.

I ordered the deep fried squid based on the restaurants note in one of these reviews, that they use the good part of the squid so that it is not chewy. This no longer seems to be the case, as my squid was chewy. I also ordered the Chicken summer rolls, which were extremely tasty, but way too much lettuce. I would prefer more noodles. They also had carrots (not listed in the door dash menu), and not enough mint, but that is a personal taste, as the mint is a big highlight for me. Fish sauce was very good. Peanut sauce was mediocre. I would definitely order the summer rolls again, but request a little more mint, and only fish sauce as a dipper.

Great Vietnamese food in Kanata South! Definitely my go to restaurant when Im craving any type of Vietnamese dishes. I love the Pho, and Vermicelli dishes. My husband loves their Rice Dishes. My only critique is that their Summer Roll has a lot of lettuce in it and their Avocado Smoothie tastes different in comparison to other restaurants (not too sweet.. Maybe they need more condensed milk in it).

I ordered vegan pad Thai and I assume there will be vegetables since its a vegetarian option. I saw a lot of carrots, maybe very dehydrated bean sprouts, white onion, and a sliver of green onion. I expected broccoli or eggplant, something in addition to carrots. Other than that, the taste was great. I totally would give five stars if there were more vegetables. The tofu was tasty and not just in tiny cubes, there was a satisfactory amount. The portion was great, the smell was appetizing, and I would order this again and ask for more vegetables.

Did not even ask for our proof of vaccination when we went in to eat. If they don t feel like following the provincial vaccine protocols which all other restaurants have to follow, then we won t be supporting them. We will not be back.

Amazing Pho, If you wanna try, try the HT7 always the best, And my friend liked the Rice with grilled Beef, and Pork Chop, Ask for a tiny bowl, and make your own sauce with the dried chili sauce, Piece of squeezed lime, and Thick soy sauce, nice to dip with the meat comes with the Pho, all the sauce available at the table, cut lime will be given with the pho. Oh my goodness, what has happened to this place, it used to be so good! We have dined in the dining room of Chez Lam on many occasions and have been very happy, always good, flavorful food. Tonight we ordered take out, and it was if we got food from a whole different place, it was that different. We got the Chicken pad thai, there was not much chicken it, nor any vegetable or cilantro,just tomato sauce noodles with a sprinkling of peanut. This was the better of the two entrees we got. I had the Grilled Chicken Rice Vermicelli with Spring roll, which I have had in the dining room and I could not believe the difference. The chicken seemed reheated, you could tell it was not fresh grilled. It was very flat, like it was squashed, and very dry. NO flavor whatsoever to this dish, no mint or cilantro.It was the blandest rice vermicelli I have ever eaten. Both entrees tasted as if they were all made with leftovers.I hope the kitchen was just having a bad night, and that they are still a good place otherwise. Sorry guys.

I was pleasantly surprised. I ordered pho (beef) and it arrived hot, with generous portions of meat, noodles, and broth. This was delicious pho. They do not skim on the meat portions like many other restaurants do. Ill be ordering from them again. Wow.

Ordered a large brisket and tendon pho and really enjoyed it. Its a good portion size and the pho broth is on point. Pictured is half a portion replated at home. Our order was made quickly and staff was friendly. Well be back to try more food from here!
