500 Hazeldean Rd, Kanata, ON K2L 2B5, Canada
Casual, unassuming joint serving Vietnamese noodle soups, stir-fries, rice plates & bubble tea.
Service was really good, but minimal as we had take out so not too much interaction. Very tasty food! We had beef and vegetables and the beef was a touch chewy, but still delicious. Pad Thai with chicken and shrimp was really good too. Lemongrass shrimp with vermicelli was delicious. The shrimp rice paper rolls had a lot of noodles and lacked flavour. They needed the dipping sauce that accompanied. Serving sizes were very generous. We ordered 4 stir fries for 4 adults and had plenty of left overs
My wife and I recently dined at Kanata Noodle House and were thoroughly impressed with the grilled pork chop. It was absolutely delicious and had a truly authentic Asian flavor that we haven't found in other restaurants. The pho was also good, although not particularly unique. We might have had slightly higher expectations for it. The overall experience was pleasant, and the complimentary fortune cookies were a nice touch.
Great service and food! The portions are filling, and the ingredients are fresh! The only thing I wish is that they offered more vegetarian options, esp soup, without oyster or fish sauce, but maybe they offer small modifications.
Broth for bun bo hue had little depth or flavour. As a side note, they don't offer shredded cabbage on the side either. Herbs (basil) were mostly brown. Service was quick. With all the pho places in Ottawa, I'd pass on this one.
Hands down the best Vietnamese food in Ottawa! My go to when I wanna eat healthy out! Portion is filling, doesn’t take long to be prepared, very fresh ingredients, and super healthy food! Also, love the jasmine tea they serve before the main dish. The pho and the grilled rice dishes are very very delicious! My personal favourite is the grilled prok chops and grilled beef and chicken rice dish!
We've been to about a thousand different restaurants in a row now and this is the first one where you write your own order down. That confused us a bit and took a while to get service. Once we ordered the food came super fast. Pad Thai was great and flavorful, same with the lemongrass chicken.
Grabbed some food to go since I was in Kanata and my wife requested some vermicelli. She had the grilled pork and chicken. I opted for some Pad Thai. I quite enjoyed it, good amount of peanuts and great texture/flavour. My wife thought it was too spicy but I liked it. If you don’t like spicy, perhaps let them know to tone down the spice on your order. Spring rolls were delicious and crispy even after travelling 40 minutes with the food in a plastic bag.
Noodles felt worse than store bought. Meat was okay. The soup was very watery. I was recommended to try the ice coffee but it was too sweet. The beef sashimi was exotic and was probably their best side. They add lemon juice to give a well balanced flavor profile.
Went based on high ratings. After, I thought I went to the wrong place. Service was non existent. Had to flag down staff each time. Food was at best average tasting, Pho was not great, the broth had no depth to it, watery and the noodles were like something from a loblaws package. Meh.The spring rolls however were very good. There was no proper hot sauce at table so disappointing. On positive side, these were huge portions and price is very reasonable. Checking out was also a pain in the behind - huge line up - you have to go to the cash and its not a great queue, very disorganized. Not impressed, Ive had much better tasting Pho at several other Pho restaurants. Disappointed. Not planing on returning.
A solid Pho restaurant. Definitely in the top 10 in Ottawa.
A hidden gem here in Ottawa... we sampled multiple things on the menu. The food was fantastic, and we will definitely be back again. Dietary restrictions: A multitude of gluten free options...
Best pad Thai in the world.
So yummy!!!! Very generous servings and reasonably priced.
Best pho place ottawa go argue with a wall
Fantastic meal today !
I was visiting my son. He took me their for dinner. Great price for the very large portions.
Best Vietnamese restaurant in Ottawa!
I choose stir-fried food here. It was delicious and wonderful. A good chef
The Kanata noodle House offers a variety of mainstream Vietnamese dishes including rice, noodle, and phò. The portions are very generous, although I found the large phò plates to have to much broth compared to the other ingredients. Otherwise, service, atmosphere and pricing are all great!
Good portions, always delicious, well priced. Great service.
Still a top pho soup in the city
Got the beef and chicken vermicelli, it was the best one Ive ever had personally. Quick friendly service too :)
Nice place, good service, seems very popular, however I was not super impressed with the food. The portions were large though, and prices were average for this type of place.
Pho soup was salty. I did not enjoy it at all. I remember it used to taste better than this.. no longer really a fan of kanata noodle house.
LEGIT food, great noodles, really good flavours in their soup as well. We ordered takeout but waited inside for it to be ready, the servers and staff were also friendly.
Kanata Noodle House (both this location and the one in Kanata North) are hidden gems and my favourite place for lunch. I will be back!
Looooove the noodle soups
I order pho to pick up for my dinner. The pho is too watery. The service is bad. My bill is around 32 and I give 40. The guy ask me any change back instead of give me right change. That really make me uncomfortable.
Tried the bun bo hue and it had a heavy metallic taste and off smell. The northern style spring rolls were good, but tasted old and grease logged. Not worth the price. Food
Outdated decor but excellent food. I didnt eat there but the restaurant was full. So, much appreciated.
Great food, fast and friendly service. Will definitely return again and again.
Must go pho in Kanata!
Great food always fresh never had a bad experience here.
Really great food at both locations. The only thing that could be better is if they had more kid friendly options for the young ones. $16.49 for a medium Pho is a lot though. Up $5 from before covid.
Got the special pho and the flavour was non-existent. Maybe it was an off-day? Also expensive. Almost $18 after tax (and before tip) for a medium sized portion.
The food is great! Love dining here. Large servings and affordable.
Always delicious and very fast
Its better than another one in Caring Ave.
If it was an option, it would be 3.7 stars, but alas, google does not believe in granularity. Overall, its decent but not phenomenal. The food was good, no complaints.
First time visited this restaurant. Im very impressed with the amount of customers here. For me, Phos broth is too much fat, bun bo Hue taste was so weird. Bo Lui was not good too. Only thing I liked was ice coffee. one more thing to complain: the waiter had never smile.
The best place for pho.
Always good
We ordered two coconut water, and they gave us one full cup and one half cup as pic. When we asked them to change the half one, they refused and there were two waiters who were talking about us in front of us in their languages. Sooooooo rude and uneducated
The beef brisket noodles are delicious and the portion is large. Two servings of beef noodle soup are enough for a family of three. The soup base tastes very good.
Love this place, great food at a great price Vegetarian options: A few vegetarian dishes, soups tend to have chicken or beef broth Dietary restrictions: A few vegan dishes such as curry vegetables with noodles (D20) also lemon grass vegetables with noodles
Bugs on the tables and crawling on the wall
No nonsense noodle place, fast service excellent food reasonable prices
This place served the Best Asian Food and Phó Soup
Its a noodle house. Its in Kanata
We have probably eaten here 20 times and we have never had a bad meal. The food is fresh and delicious.
My fiancé and I drive all the way to Ottawa from Montreal for this place! LOVE!
First time experience and was wonderful . Helpful staff to let you know what we were ordering
The price is higher than before but the quality and quantity of the meal are still the same level.
This is one of my favorite restaurants. Ive been many times and the owners are really kind whenever I go. The broth is nearly always 10/10 for me and they always hook me up with extra limes. Ive never had a bad experience here. I find the quality is consistent across the menu too. No matter which random item I order, it is delicious. The portions are good too. You can share for a cheap meal or take it home and get multiple meals out of it. I enjoy the vibe when the restaurant gets busy. Great work, owners!
Pho was delicious and quick service. Hoghly recommend
Best Vietnamese restaurant in Ottawa! Service is always very quick and they are open on most holidays. The food is absolutely amazing, always fresh! We order from there on a regular basis. Very much recommended!
Good selection of vietnamese dishes. Consistently good taste and flavour. Highly recommended whether you are experienced or new to vietnamese food.
The food is always good and tasty.
S14 Best soup in whole world!
Friendly staff. Quick service. Food is always delicious!!
The food we ordered came very shortly after we ordered. The medium bowl of pho we ordered was packed full of ingredients and the broth was very flavourful. Everything was delicious. Food : 5/5
It used to be good. But lately, the soup is so salty. It doesnt have any traditional Vietnamese pho soup flavor. The rice noodle is not smooth. Quality is going down, and the price is expensive. I think its different owner now.
One of my favourite places for Vietnamese food! Great restaurant and amazing service! I have been here numerous times and the food is always consistent. It s My go to place for Bun Bo Hue!
Best pho joint in Ottawa!! Service was quick and efficient. Food was also really good, spring roll was also delicious!
Last few visits here has left much to be desired. While they are going for quantity, this leaves the quality of the food to suffer. The rice rolls lacked flavour and freshness, the rice paper was a bit hard. The beef stew was extremely oily and the beef was not close to tender. Rice noodles in the Pho had a smell and tasted like they were a day old.
very good takeout
Good food. Prices ok. Nice folk. Real busy.
Good pho, service was great they kept checking up on us if we were okay. When one of the employees saw I was busy handling my kids said that he would pack my food for me!
Super fast service and delicious food. The beef vermicelli with spring rolls were amazing!
Pad Thai and service was great!!
Seriously the Best Vietnamese in town. Salad rolls in peanut sauce was devine, spring rolls amazing, drip coffee absolutely delicious, pho noodles and stir fry are fantastic. Outstanding service and very authentic. Treat your family and friends you will be talking about this place forever New location in Carleton Place June opening
My go-to restaurant for Noodle soup or stir fry! Great food great service! I believe I heard that another Noodle House like this chain will be coming to Carleton Place! I will surely try it out and the one in Arnprior as well!
An awesome place to visit . I visited this place with my husband today and it was amazing their jasmine tea is very yummy. We ordered fried fish balls and fried rice shrimps they it was extremely delicious . Their hospitality is also amazing. Food
Best Vietnamese in ottawa. Been going here nearly 20 years
Fast service and still tasted awesome when I took it home all the way to Carleton place
Plenty of seating, the dishes were good. But I was told the pho was better a few years back. The staff were friendly and patient with us.
Still such a favourite! Keeping freshness!
I am giving 1 star due to the incident we had. During our last visit at this restaurant, a rubber band was found in my wifes soup bowl. Either the waitress was not trained to deal with the situation properly or she is just a rude person. She does not have accent. It is not a language or culture issue. For that, we decided we are not going back to this restaurant.
Pho was average but the spring rolls were amazing! Super quick service.
Some of the best Vietnamese food I have had! Strongly recommend. Service is lightning fast too.
Had take-out once and ate-in once. Love the variety they have and everything ordered so far is delicious. Definitely recommend this restaurant.
So much flavor! We came from out of town looking for a Vietnamese restaurant, happy we stumbled upon this place! The food was delicious! We got served tea and asked the waiter for a recommendation.. we ordered fresh spring rolls and Tom Kha Gai Chicken, and the Pad Thai. So good, bookmarked amd we will be back!!
Fast, good and reasonably priced
Delicious food!! But they played the same Vietnamese dance song 10 times on REPEAT!!!!! I dont understand.... drove us crazy!!! But delicious food! Food
Really tasty dishes and huge portions. Good value, would reccomend it anytime
The #1 place for Thai and Vietnamese food in Ottawa.
Food tastes great. Service is quick and food comes out quickly once ordered. Lots of choices. I recommend the beef stew with egg noodles or rice noodles. It warms you up especially on a cold day! You can also add a small amount of chili oil (free) or hoisin sauce (free). Parking: I can always find a parking spot.
Choked on metal found in spring roll owner and staff wont resolve the issue nor apologize and has to be escalated to health inspection
My mother in law choked on a long piece of metal found in a spring roll and the staff and owner refused to apologize or resolve the issue and have to resort to escalating this to food inspection unfortunately
Loved it
Bad customer service. They left a metal object in the food and never took responsiblity.
found an object that wasn t digestible in my food, almost killed me, seems im not the only one
I dont know why people tolerate these noodle houses. With other locations and ones in future works, I still dont understand why people do. With dishes, not only mine but others being slung onto tables like their customers are scum of the earth but mediocrity food at its best. Seems like Chef Mike does most of the work here. And now the ignorance and arrogance of the metal-in-food issue, and the owner refusing to do anything about it (04/20/2024). I would suggest either going to summerset or taking the enjoyment of making your own at home. Either way the choice is still yours, and I have been rating strictly on food and service now that prices have skyrocketed and these outings are once and a while for myself.
Metal pieces found in your food???!!!! Take food and safety seriously!!!!!! Hope serious action is taken against your restaurant
There was a hidden rat tail in my spring roll. But it was delicious!
The place is nice and the service is good.
Great food at decent prices. A medium bowl is filling for an average appetite. Our server was super friendly and helpful when ordering. Parking: Strip mall parking spot availability changed over the course of the day
Very quick service and delicious food.
Quaint Vietnamese restaurant on Hazeldean Rd. with ample free parking. If youre looking for ample food at a reasonable price, this is it. Good variety of appetizers and main course. But be prepared to receive a big bowl of food. I have a good appetite and couldnt finish my main dish because I had the deep fried shrimp spring rolls as an appetizer. My friends had the rice paper rolls with satay. That sauce was very good. The staff is very efficient and polite. Our dishes arrived fast and as described on the menu. Would go again and try other dishes from the dine-in menu.
Went there last weekend. Except for the rice spring rolls (Ch Nem) which was very good, I cant say the same about the other dishes we ordered. I had pork vermicelli with my son and once I got home with his leftover I found in it a large piece (1/4 inch wide and 2.5 inch long) of transparent plastic wrap in it. Lucky he and hubby didnt eat/see that. The dish was greasy, cold too fast and not great overall. The other dish ordered was a beef ph which tasted awful and smelled as much. Tried one of the balls that were in it and could barely swallow to keep face but son and hubby spat them out. We wont be back.
Best noodle place in the West end of Ottawa, maybe all of Ottawa
You d be crazy not to eat here
They made a wrong dinner again!
Excellent food! Great value!
Excellent food and service as usual
This is easily the best pho weve ever had, we eat here often and its consistently amazing, even as take-out. The staff is friendly and true to their word. Well be eating here for as long as its around.
I do love pad Thai and this places was suggested by a relative. I did enjoy the restaurant, seems to be run by good people that care about the customer experience. The food is really great meaning my expectation! The service was phenomenal. Food : 4/5
Their Pho was enormous!
Large portions. Love the pad Thai and pork with vermicelli noodles.
Love the food and the pad Thai is the best in town!
We came to eat soup pho and sip some bubble tea, for the people that love more organic bubble tea and soup pho, I strongly recommend.
Staff are friendly, and service is fast despite it always being busy whenever we eat there.
This is our go to place for ladies lunch monthly. The servings are generous and delicious, the service is fine and we always feel well treated and welcome. Highly recommend! Its a popular place so can be a bit noisy at times - but thats because its so good!! Vegetarian options: There are a number of vegetarian options on the menu .
Liked this place a lot! Good vibes for indoor dining. Will be back.
It s not delicious, but beef stew is okay.
Stop complaining or stay home! It s a nice place and very delicious!!! Very family friendly
Nice pho in kanata, like their chili sauce.
Ordered the 15W. Special (well done beef, beef brisket, beef tendon, beef balls, chicken, and quail egg) for take-out with A7. Shrimp rice paper wrap. Both were excellent. They separate the soup from the ingredients so you mix them when you get home. All ingredients were fresh. Friendly service. I had the chicken pad thai before but did not like the taste of the sauce in it.
Im a fan of their Thai soup and really love their grilled pork dishes. Ive been going for years and Ill continue to go for as long as the quality is maintained :)
Great place for a fast and healthier/lighter option, even when they are busy the service is fast and friendly and the food is consistent and customizeable.
The Pad Thai was delicious!
This place is kind of my backup kitchen. Never disappointed with the food. Quick service and reliable food quality.
The best spot in Kanata for Vietnamese food. The restaurant is always busy because people love the food so much. They give a lot of noodles in their soups. They also have more soup options other than pho that most Vietnamese restaurants in Ottawa don t offer. They have bun rieu, tomato crab soup. Bo kho, a flavourful beef stew, it s a must try! Also, bun bo hue, a sour, spicy, and sweet soup. It s a Vietnamese classic, it s super spicy but super good!
Extensive list of vietnamese foods. I got one of the special soups: beef shank and vietnamese ham in spicy beef broth. Deliciously spicy and flavourful. Vietnamese coffee was very good - not too sweet. Service was fast.
Good place to get pho and other Vietnamese dishes. The ice cream is quite good as well.
Some beef stew with baguette just taste horrible. All the oil was floating on the soup. Its on the special menu. Definitely avoid any dishes with baguette. Normally, the phos here are good. My experience yesterday with the oily food ruined my impression of this place...
This is probably the best Vietnamese restaurant in town! Make sure you try their pork/beef vermicelli with spring rolls. Super tasty!
Quick service, welcoming staff and amazing food! Will visit again soon!
Awesome spot I just discovered. Very good vibes and very good pho
Slightly different than the traditional pad Thai but still pretty good. Portions are big. Enough for leftovers. A tad pricey
S14 best soup I ve ever had. Also, try the northern spring roll so amazing.
They have really quick service and probably the best cafe sua da, in my opinion. The rolls and big, and hefty, and I like that I can request my bun bo hue to not be too spicy. They have a lot of menu items, so it s a great place to keep coming back to try new food.
A great little Vietnamese noodle house with great food and fast service. the price was very good aswell.
Soup was good but noodles were too boiled.
Best pho in Ottawa!
Delicious pho soup! Excellent sizes available and prices. Would absolutely reccomend.
Pas Thai was good! Chuck some sriracha on there and its perfect, with enough for leftovers!
Well the food is excellent and the staff are very knowledgable. I havent tried everything but I think their fruit smoothies are excellent for a restaurant. Theyre super fruity and well blended. I eat the whole menu its delicious.
