Loved being here. Great service, it wasn't busy during lunch and just one server was managing all tables. Food was great and so were the portions. It's in the strip mall opposite farm boy. Ample parking spots available. Complementary tea is perfect to warm up your tummy before food arrives. We'll be back again for more. Thanks.

Best Pho in the city!! Also best Pad Thai (Pho Xao) in the city!! Yes it’s in a little nondescript strip mall. Yes it’s décore is nothing special. But the food is delicious and service excellent. Kim will take care of you and give you excellent suggestions. The key to great Pho is the broth and they have IMHO the best broth - flavourful, complex and not too salty. I have been to a lot of Pho restaurants (500+) as it is my comfort food and it was my go to meal during the pandemic. Pho Moonlight makes the very best Pho. Also consider their grilled pork chop with rice, lemongrass chicken, shrimp/pork salad rolls and spring rolls. The Vietnamese version of Pad Thai = Pho Xao - they have the most flavourful and satisfying dish - add the broccoli and ask for extra spice - well worth your time. Also important for those with peanut allergies, they have peanut-free options and even their peanut sauce for Goi Cuon (fresh shrimp and pork rice paper rolls) is peanut-free. Give it a try and I’m sure you’ll end up going back.
The pho broth was good, if not a bit cloudy. The pho beef was tough, did not enjoy it. Portion for a medium pho was also smaller than usual.
Best Vietnamese restaurant in Kanata! July 2024 Update: Food is amazing. The staff are very nice and helped me with some recommendations. When I got home, one of my dishes was missing the quiche. 😭 I recommend checking the dishes before taking them home. --- All of our takeout meals were delicious, well packed and moderately priced. They are the only restaurant in Kanata to offer the 3 Layer Drink (mung bean, jelly and coconut milk) - my husband loves this drink so I wanted to look for a restaurant that had this. I also ordered the Avocado Smoothie, Vermicelli with Pork, Spring Roll and Grilled Shrimp on Sugarcane, and 2 Rice Dishes with Pork, Egg Quiche and Veggies. Loved that the pork was grilled and soft so we can easily chew on it (my toddler was able to eat it with no issues). It was a lot of food so well worth the price. I had to call to order as I see that they weren't in the Uber Eats or Skip The Dishes. The lady employee was very nice and friendly. I'll definitely order from Pho Moonlight again.
We had great dinner time here. The staff was nice and sweet. The price was reasonable and the meals were delicious. We would like to try other meals next time.

Great place for pho with vegetables

Double and triple check if you have dietary restrictions. We went in to get vegan food and asked if that was available. There were two staff waiting tables one of them confirmed that Vegan options were available. We ordered the same and our order was taken by the other waiting staff. We clearly mentioned by writing all our orders were vegan. Unfortunately we were severed food that wasn t vegan. The original staff that confirmed availability of vegan food and chef came in apologized for the mishap. They cited the person who took the order was new and did not understand. We ll return again and update the rating accordingly. Rating logic: 1) Food rating 3/5 for serving 2 of 3 dishes correct. 2) Service rating 3/5 for Chef / one staff understanding the problem and not denying it. Removed 2 stars for new staff not able to understand the issue. 3) Ambience was generally good nothing to complain about. Vegetarian options: Double and triple confirm Vegan and vegetarian dishes. New staff may not understand your dietary restrictions.

Tried this place out as we were no longer satisfied at our previous go to & we were not disappointed. Ordered the pork meatballs (I thought these were rice wraps) but they were just regular meat balls, however, still very good. Also had the chicken with house peanut sauce which was also very good. We have vegan friends join us, cant recall what they had (rice-tofu dish of some sort) but they really enjoyed it & had no issues with their dietary preferences. Will definitely be back to try more items!

The Phò here was excellent. There is tons of flavor in the broth. The reason for the 4-star rating is the atmosphere. It is very clean, and the service was great, but the dining room could use a few more authentic Vietnamese decorations. And possibly a splash of color on the menu. The menu is huge, and everything blends together. Over all though we really enjoyed our meal.
This is a delightfully quiet restaurant and a true gem to find when looking for tasty and well-priced food. Will go back again.

Food was the exact right temperature. Tasted awesome and was exactly what I have wanted for so long. Fresh shrimp rolls were delicious and chicken & beef Vermicelli bowl was AMAZING! SO SO GOOD! Service was excellent and the lady was super friendly. Love love love Vegetarian options: Tofu.and many veggies offered. Parking: Plenty of parking when I was there, maybe more challenging at supper time.

Great Pho Great Service
Visited this spot to satisfy pho cravings. The place was very clean and service was fast. The noodles were the perfect texture and the broth was amazing - also pretty generous with the meat and toppings. Plenty of free parking outside.

Usually do not leave reviews but had to leave one for this place. All I got to say is waaaw !!! Thanks for the service ! Food is great! Fair pricing ! Keep up the good work ! I got sick twice in the restaurant right after my meal and so did my friends son and I reported it to the staff and we still had to pay a portion of the bills. I am upset they still charged us some of the bill. If this happened at my restaurant, I would not allow the customer to pay any part and apologize, not argue. Bad customer service tonight. I was told that because the owner was on vacation that the waitress was not able to make the decision.

Hard to give this place more then 3 stars with a much better Biddle house just down the road. We went in on a Sunday lunch. We were five adults and two of the meals were cancelled due to not enough ingredients. Not necessarily a bad thing but the fact it wasnt told to us up front and then in two seperate trips indicates to me that there is much to be desired about how the kitchen is run. As a former cook I now the signs. The meals we did get were ok. Not great but ok. The server seemed to be doing the best she could with what she had.
Easily our favourite Pho spot in the West End, we visit frequently when were out in Kanata. Awesome pho, specialty soups, rice, and noodle dishes (the crispy noodle dishes are a fave), well prepared and served up quickly at moderate prices. The quietness of the venue can be a little intimidating, but its a wonderful spot on a winters night for some soupy goodness.
Best Vietnamese in Kanata! Good portions and reasonable prices. Theres zero ambiance in the restaurant so this is definitely a take-away place. But every time were there to pick up food, there are 2-3 other people there picking up too. There are flashier places in town, but this the best by far!

We were driving by looking for a place to eat. What a wonderful find!
Went this week with my family and small child. Service was terrible. It took the guy 40min to take our order after serving table that came in after us. They brought in 1/2 appetizer forgot the other half. It took another 40min to get phos on the table and my daughters food meat was ice cold and it should have been from the grill. I told them they took it back grilled again and brought back burnt. My poor daughter didn t eat anything . Not enough sprouts and lime for pho. The guy/server never stopped by the table to ask how everything is. Phos were supposed to be beef flank , meat balls and tripe. In total there wasn t even a spoon full of meat all together . So disappointed. This use to be ok place years ago , I will never go back again. Paid the bill 75$ .

This Vietnamese restaurant makes great food! I find they are slow with their service, even when the restaurant isnt that busy. Ive gone 3 Times because I love the food, but each time, I have to wait quite a while for my food to be served. It seems like there may only be 2 or 3 people working there at a time. If you can spare extra time to wait, I recommend trying this place because their food is yummy!
We visited Pho Moolight for dinner on Saturday November 12, 2022. What a disaster; I will not visit that establishment anytime soon. The place was near empty but we still waited more than 1 hour for our meal. Unacceptable ! Their reason... they had many phone-in orders and they got priority over the two of us. Now what is their thinking behind such ridiculous policy ! They definitely lack knowledge on managing a restaurant. The server was new on the job, probably her first night... and obviously no training. Vegetarian options: Good fresh veg rolls. Parking: No trouble with the parking.

The food is not the greatest, they rather give you scraps to fill your plate instead of saying it s unavailable. Either way the service is good it s just questionable on how their still open. Best pho in Kanata is only a 4 minute drive from here so if you had the same experience I did I ll help you find the right one
the people working there are so friendly, they remember my family and I every time. my favorite is their 110, chicken soup. it can make me feel better on my worst days :) thank you guys
I grew up beside the owners of this place and theyve always had such a caring and family-oriented outlook on their food. I remember them having people over for big potluck style events and them bringing leftover food to us the next day- and it was SO amazing! I can tell that their food really is made with patience and love. I can really say that their authentic Vietnamese food really is some of the BEST I have ever had- still until this day. I have been here many times and I really wish I could go more. I moved across town and dont get out to Kanata as often anymore, but I am not exaggerating when I say that I think about this place often.

We eat here and at Kanata noodle house and we prefer the pho soup here. Kanata noodle house has more dishes and bubble tea. We are very glad to have two great noodle restaurants...KNH can be very very busy...PM is more relaxing.

Just...Yum. Friendly service, great food. Washrooms could be a little spruced up though, and the child seats need a wash. Four stars only because of decor/washrooms - food is awesome. I highly recommend the house special soup. It s spicy and delicious.
Although the establishment is smaller than some larger restaurants, the food here is amazing and the staff are always very professional and courteous!

Been going here for almost a decade! Never disappoints, always super fast and friendly, and the food is delicious. Take out is quick, and dine in has a lovely atmosphere. Vermicelli bowls are to die for!

Love this place. The food and service is always great. Fresh vegetables, with spring rolls, rice noodles and meat, flavoured with fresh herbs. So yummy! The waitress is kind and patient. We will be back!!
This place was my go to pho . Not as good as it used to be. Large soup at $18 is strewn together with no care and the broth is not very good. Will be looking for a new place.
The location of the store is little awkward, once you noticed the store, you already passed it. We decided to make a stop one day, we have been there many times. We love the platter, the bread...Despite the fact that the driver tipped the food over so it arrived looking like a total disaster the nachos we ordered were good and the poutine was ok.
Good food but service and kitchen coordination badly lacking. Had to ask for our ordered water after 10 minutes. Appetizer arrived with main course instead of being served as an appetizer. Restaurant wasnt that busy, just badly organized.

This place never fails to impress. The food is so delicious, the menu has lots of options, and the service is always friendly. Not many vegetarian options from what Ive seen but a great menu otherwise. I like the dry soya ramen.

Great vegetarian pho! Also several vegetarian options for noddle and rice dishes but can always expand their vegan menu even more. Only two vegan appetizers (spring roll and tofu dishes). Very attentive lady server.

Pho is a long time favorite, their Pad Thai is the best and has been for the past 12 years. Weve tried other dishes, the vermicelli is nice and light with lots of flavour and crunch. The deep fried squid is big and yummy! Highly recommended this spot!

Unfortunately their customer service was very poor. We have been regular customers for 8 years and I have ordered pad Thai from the menu previously but it was too spicy today for me, returned it and they remade my order but charged me for both Pad Thais. Very rude. They have lost us as customers forever. Very poor customer treatment and insulting and disrespectful service.
i have always enjoyed having my favorite PadThai at Pho Moonlight. the place is clean, well lit and have very courteous staff. i have known the place for over 8 years and have come to special occasions like my own wedding anniversary and holidays. try them out, parking space is awesome as well!

What a horrible place with rude ignorant staff. My wife asked for a substitute for her meal due to dietary issues and they wouldn t accommodate and then said they would for 5 dollars. Substituting beef for pork is cheaper not more expensive. The restaurant also smelled horrible like rotten dirty shoes. WILL NEVER RETURN.

They are very generous with the peanuts, which are sprinkled all over the food. If you have allergies or are not a fan of peanuts, be sure to mention it! I asked for spicy, so naturally the food was a but spicy, but I felt it was just right and how pad thai should be ordered! Not much more I can saw about this place apart from the fact that it is my new go to place for pad thai when I am in the Ottawa area!
The spicy egg noodle soup is good and has been for over a decade. The rest of the menu is OK and a tad on the pricy side. What was really disappointing was their Vietnamese coffee with condensed milk. It clearly was a powder mixture and not true drip coffee. For the price they were charging, it is rather regretful.

Quick service, tasty food
The chicken appetizer was delicious. It was tender pieces of chicken breast covered in a slightly spicy peanut sauce atop a bed of shredded lettuce and pickled carrots. The portion size was small, but it was fantastic. They call it mildly spicy, but the heat really builds up as you eat it. The shrimp appetizer was ok. It was deep fried battered shrimp. Lots of batter. I wouldnt order this again.

Disclaimer: hubby and I are total Pho snobs and very picky! We came here cuz of all the 5 star reviews but were quite disappointed. Its a nice clean place and good service but the rice wraps were sooooo bland and the Pho was very generic and meh. Nothing special.

Pho moonlight has been around long enough to be called a staple. Theyve got a nice peaceful venue although I do primarily takeout myself. Try the 610 with red OR green curry, get it made extra spicy if you like the hot stuff!

Whats not to love about a hot bowl of Pho?! And as a regular here I can honestly say its one of my favourites in the city. I know good Pho when I taste it and youll find a great variety here. A new favourite of mine is their ramen dishes. Soul food, plain and simple.
