I absolutely love this place. Im from Vancouver and this restaurants flavors are making me feel like a kid again. Hands down best hot and sour soup in town and the only place that does it properly!! Great food and amazing flavours!

All the delicious dishes are gone. This is the best and most authentic Chinese restaurant in Kelowna. It is a simple and kind-hearted mom-and-pop shop that can satisfy your travel cravings.

Lots of gluten free options which is not very common for traditional Chinese food. All the food was fantastic!

Absolutely loved this restaurant! The Chinese food was delicious, and the owner was super friendly and helpful, offering great dish recommendations. We were very satisfied with our dining experience this time. We ordered three dishes, which tasted very good and perfectly matched the taste of Chinese food. Each dish is full of delicious flavors, exquisitely seasoned and rich in texture. The portion size was just right (a combination of dishes), making us very full. I really recommend this place, especially for those who love Chinese food!

We had a short stop on the way from Vancouver to Banff, and as an unexpected surprise, we ordered fried pork with chili, boiled fish, and seafood tofu pot. The taste is good and the quantity is sufficient.

Someone recommended this place to me and said how great the food was. Everything we ordered was absolutley delicious! Really fresh food with generous portions. It is decently priced for how much food you get as well. And the lady (who I assumed was the owner) was very friendly and welcoming. This will be our new go to restaurant!!

Went with family for first time and loved it. Flavours were great, everything was cooked well but most of all, big compliment to the server working by herself. Not an easy thing to do when its a full house. Highly recommend for people who like spicy food.

Awesome food and service

We ve ordered from LVS before and have always been happy with our order, but tonight was extremely disappointing. We ordered the Zha Jian Mein, described as minced pork with carrots and cucumbers in a spicy sauce. However, what we received was noodles with ground beef, bok choy, and absolutely no flavour no sauce or spice at all. Additionally, the Spring Onion Chicken was lacking green onion, and, most importantly, the chicken itself was very dry. It s unclear what went wrong tonight, but both items were poorly made, and one wasn t even the correct dish. I will be giving them a call to discuss what happened with our order.

Authentic Chinese food

I ordered pork Chow Mei noodles and Prawn curry fried rice .it was no taste at all. Wasted our money. It was not chow mei .just boil noodles with no taste and the rice is just turmeric and frozen vegetables wil never order from here again. Also when i came in to pick up the food a staff was sleeping on the restaurant couch with no shoes ita so unsanitary.

Originally I just wanted to fill my stomach, but I was pleasantly surprised. Unlike many restaurants whose Chinese food seems to have been modified to suit the tastes of local Canadians, this chef makes very authentic Chinese food and the portions are very generous.

Visiting from Calgary as a group of 10. 6 adults and 4 kids. We are all Chinese and we really enjoy the food and service. Will recommend to more friends for sure.

We ordered catering at LVS, Fanny gave us a fantastic deal for the amount of people we were serving. She also delivered all the food to us on time at upper mission. The portion sizes were wonderful. And I can honestly say they serve the best Chinese food in Kelowna.

Tried calling to order food for delivery, they are to busy to deliver so I asked to order for pickup. The lady asked if I could wait 2-3 minutes as she put the phone down, 15 minutes later I decided to hangup. Needless to say I havnt tried their food! Edit, I ordered a second time and they said they dont deliver over 3km away unless I spend minimum 60 dollars, and even after I gave them my address they forced me to order more food (I live 1.7 km away) I ordered in person this time and brought it home myself. I found a huge hair in my wonton soup. 3 strikes your out. (Wonton soup is bland anyways)

Best Chinese food that I ever had 20/10 Food

This was one of the best chinese restaurants weve been to, in any place. Their customer service is unparalleled; the waiter served us even after closing time. The food was extremely quick in serving: just after ordering we received our first dish shortly. Despite how we came after closing time, their quality didnt lack, nor did they slack because their open hours were done. If youre in Kelowna, I highly recommend this place. I deeply promise it wont disappoint you.

The absolutely very best Chinese food we have ever had. The salt and pepper prawns so delicious. All the dishes the owner recommended were so so good! The chicken dish with peaches yummy! Myself and my friend had a lunch combo for 2. We were not disappointed. The meal is fresh flavorable hot. I took boxes home and well have supper for 2.This restaurant lives up to the favorable reviews. I would definitely recommend it. I will be back for the dim sum. Although the menu is limited, if the food is anything as good as the lunch we had, I will be more than happy. If youre looking for good Chinese food This little gym is the place to go. It is kind of tucked away from public view, but its well worth The Visit. Im looking forward to going back and trying more of their menu. Went for lunch with some friends, It was delicious

The server was polite and she tried to understand our needs the best she could. Food was pretty average to be honest. Place was empty when we went there at lunchtime on a weekend, which was great for us because we got the whole place to ourselves but even the recommend dishes didnt live up to hype.

One of three entrees was ice cold and had visibly undercooked chicken. No answer when called.

Fanny is amazing. I booked our group gathering for lunch without checking out their hours on Sunday, which is 3 pm. She kindly opened her business early for us at 12:30! The food was awesome and authentic. Will definitely recommend everyone to try it!

Best shrimps in their dishes. Large, perfectly cooked. Tried their salt and pepper shrimp, special chop Suey and deep fried shrimp. Also recommend the Mongolian beef with skinny noodles. Great quality food as I have ordered takeout from them four times. Parking: Park in underground after five pm with access to inside the building.

I havent been here for a few months. The chef must have changed. The food is served very slowly and the taste is very bad. Boiled fish smells bad. Probably wont come again

Service was slow and food was mediocre on a Sat afternoon at noon. We ordered the bbq pork and rice dish and the rice was lukewarm which was surprising since they have a rice cooker. Then we got the beef brisket noodle soup. That was okay in flavour but it was a bit oily. We also got the 3 dish combo with fried rice and ginger beef. There were pieces of the ginger beef that tasted moldy and had a suspect greenish speck to it. I m not sure how you screw that up since it s fried pieces of beef. Maybe it was an off day but we wouldn t come back based off our experience.

I have been there a couple times and both werent disappointed! Food is authentic, delicious. The owner is very nice, chatted with us like your next door neighbor auntie. Sometimes they are busy so you might wait a little for all the dishes out, but its worth the wait!

We ve been looking for a good Chinese place for a bit. Found it. The walnut shrimp is really really really good. Fried rice and sweet and sour pork great. Dumplings very good. We will happily be back.

I went in, and I smelled home. I moved to Kelowna from a great late night cantonese food paradise. Everywhere else i have tried was awful & overly whitewashed. I ordered the beef chownfun, stir-fried porkbelly, and boiled sichuan chili fish. The beef chowfun was the only dish lacking in depth of flavour & the neef was not velvited, but it acted as the rice dish to hold the flavours from the other dishes anyway. Ill be back again for dimsum!

One of the more authentic Chinese restaurants in Kelowna. Food was quick and service was good. Decent menu selection that caters to American/Chinese customers but with a few authentic Chinese dishes. Parking: Free Street parking 1 hour from 9am-5pm

A good place to try Chinese traditional cuisine!

This chef knows what they are doing! Not only are the flavors fantastic, but everything was cooked to perfection. The Buddha s feast was excellent, with vegetables that weren t over cooked. They have, by far, the best hot and sour soup in town. The salt and pepper squid was melt in your mouth instead of the over cooked - rubbery stuff other places serve. I will definitely be going back for more.

Best dinner, I looked for authentic restaurants in Kelowna and recently found this one, food is phenomenal.

So far (in Kelowna), the most authentic Chinese food Ive had other than my moms kitchen back in the 90s. Food is pretty good, but you do have to choose the right dishes to match your palette; some of which might not even be on the main English menu. Tell them you speak Chinese even if you dont and youll get access to the bonus menu of real Chinese food (dont start with chicken feet). We went on a Saturday at lunch and it was absolutely empty from 12-1. I guess theyre busier at night and maybe on weekdays when all the Landmark office workers are hungry. When ordering we went with the owners recommendations off the Chinese menu, garlic prawns and sizzling beef which they were great. Then, not on the menu, I asked for some fried Chinese greens and she said they had Bok Choy, so we went with that on the side and rice for two (enough for 4). The only disappointing dish for me was the $38 crispy skin chicken ( ) which took 30+ min to come out and was super dry (unlike previous ppls photos). Maybe I need to order on a better day because this was desert dry. All in all, the place was better than I expected and Ill go again. I recommend to go in a group so you can split the cost to try more variety of dishes together. Ill try some other dishes next time.

Ginger chicken (more Chilli than ginger, we love Chilli just wasn t expecting it to be so overpowering). Sweet n Sour Pork tasteless in a yellow sauce. Both dishes extremely over cooked to the point it was hard to cut through the meat. No serving spoons with dishes, white rice isn t on menu had to ask for this extra. No ambiance should have had dinner at a mall !

Had a lot of expectations but sadly it didnt meet. Ordered Pork dumplings, Chicken Chow Mein and salt and pepper Prawns. Didnt like dumplings at all. They were fried gyoza but very different from other places. Taste was weird, outer coating was different, very very light like theres nothing inside. Had a bit of smell. We ended up returning it. Chow Mein should have been cooked for a min more, it was a tad hard plus bland, no taste at all. She offered us chili oil which made it palatable. Salt and pepper prawns were good. Service was good but overall very expensive. Will I return, probably no.

The seafood is good, but the others are average, and the quality control is unstable. The twice-cooked pork I had today was not as good as the one I had last week. Recommend the Typhoon Shelter Fried Shrimp.

My father and I came to LVS today after I remembered seeing a review for them on google. We were not disappointed ! Our family is Chinese, so we are used to good authentic Chinese food. We thoroughly enjoyed the meal. We ordered the seafood hot pot and Singapore noodles. I couldn t believe how fresh the seafood was , and the vegetables were super fresh. Another thing, portion was size was amazing.. definitely enough to feed three people. The place is clean, nicely appointed and the owner is super personable and kind. This is definitively our new family Chinese restaurant. Thank you Phillip !

Good food

Coming from Calgary I was familiar with the traditional dishes from Sichuan and missed them when we moved to Kelowna. I am so happy that Mr. Lum has opened his authentic Chinese restaurant here in Kelowna! The dishes are made in the traditional style and the portions are very generous. Our favorites were the Sichuan chicken and Sichuan fish. We will definitely be back to try more dishes!

Unfortunate experience. They were super busy, so had to wait an extra 20 min after the 30 min quoted over the phone. That would be fine if the food was amazing but nope. The deep fried prawns were so over fried and hard you could cut your gums. Great looking veg in the chow mein but it was extremely salty like I wondered if I could save it if I rinsed it. Shredded lemon chicken looked good but had a lot of gristle!! and ice cold after the 5 min drive home. Chicken fried rice was good so 1 out of 4 is horrible for 75$.

Love it!! Best Chinese place in town by far, finally!! So impressed!

We have read many reviews of this place so finally decided to try it (generally I am not fond of Chinese food but my husband loves it). Well we BOTH really enjoyed our meal! The vegetable chow mein might have been my favourite - fresh, not over cooked and there were lots of veggies (so often you have to hunt for the vegetables). The sweet and sour pork was delicious but perhaps a bit over cooked and while the ginger chicken wasn t as ginger as I expected the kick of spice was perfect. We had our own rice at home to top off the meal. With the rice, there was enough food for 2 dinners for 2 very big eaters (we definitely ate more than we should have). We will be back again, thank you!

Finally, a great Chinese food restaurant in Kelowna. Our takeout order was hot and delicious. And the servings were generous. Being from Vancouver, we miss great Chinese food. No more, this will be our go-to place. Our order was ready at the time we requested.

After working in China for several years, I ve been searching for good authentic Chinese food. LVS Restaurant is amazing ! They have a great selection of dim sum and other dishes. I highly recommend ordering off the authentic Chinese section of the menu. It s written in Chinese but the staff are so friendly and helpful and can tell you about all their dishes. I stopped by for a meal on the way to Penticton. The portions were so big that four adults and three children ordered five dishes and didnt even finish them. Every dish is delicious, the lemon shredded chicken is especially delicious, refreshing and appetizing. The price is also very cheap. recommend! When we went, some friends didnt want spicy food, so they didnt order the traditional Sichuan dishes. The salt and pepper shrimp is not very flavorful but very crispy and fragrant. The sizzling beef, braised eggplant and fried noodles are all good. There were not many people, so the food was served very quickly, and the waitress was also very nice.

They offer well-crafted traditional classic Chinese dishes and chop suey style Chinese food.

My favorite Chinese food for sure. We always order off of the authentic menu and have never been disappointed.

When it comes to Chinese food outside of China, authenticity is often a very murky subject. That is because Chinese food outside of China is adapted to suit the palates of the locals they are serving. So one can t put authenticty together with chinese food outside of china because it will never work. But there is nothing wrong with less authentic chinese food if basic cookery is executed well. LVS has mastered Wok Hei - the rest such as flavour - is adapted to the local palate. I enjoyed the food here as a Taiwanese Canadian but relatives of mine who visited me from China feel there is still a difference in flavour, especially Chinese spices and spiciness level. To each their own but do not write off this place. Big portions, tasty dishes, fresh ingredients and very good prices.

Very good food with great service. Being a vegetarian I sometimes find it difficult to get options but they had a pretty good selection and also customized most of the food to our liking. The service was great as well and didn t take too long. We will definitely be back again!

We came here from Edmonton on vacation and came here to eat after a friend recommended it. The taste of the food was quite good and the portion was sufficient, except that the fried large intestine was a bit salty. Also, there are too few types of soups. There are only wonton stew soup and hot and sour soup. In fact, I just want a tomato and egg soup, but there is no soup. I can only eat and drink water. I hope I can order soup when I come on vacation next year.

Made a large order, the majority was just what we wanted however we ordered 2 vegatable fried rice dishes and the rice was undercooked on both.

The food, price and service were excellent. Definitely the most authentic in Kelowna. Only suggestion is to better clean the tables. Other than that it was a pleasant surprise after being disappointed with Chinese food at every other Chinese restaurant in town.

I can confirm that this place offers real, authentic Chinese food in Kelowna. They do have a lot of dishes on their menu but I find that the cuisine style is more Sichuan/northern Chinese. They also serve all day dim sum but we did not try. The dishes were piping hot when they came and the portions were huge. I was quite surprised that the restaurant was not as busy as expected during dinner time. I guess that s likely due to the location which doesn t have a lot of traffic and the friendly owner also told me that they are new. Highly recommend to anyone to come here and give them a try.

I truly havent a meal this good in years and Ive been everywhere. Delicious beef noodle

Had disappointed experience on Friday lunch. The beef brisket was undercooked,too tough to chew, then cook accepted to take them back. Then the waitress presented us bill before other dish finished. The restaurant wasnt that good as scored at 4.8.

Let me start off by saying this isn t terrible food. We got the Contonese Chow Mein and the Seafood Hot Pot. Firstly, they need to update all their menus so that they are in sync because all of them have different prices. There is a menu that flashes on the TV monitor that is MUCH cheaper than the menus you are given, PLUS the menu on the monitor has other items that are not available on the other one. It s hard to know what exactly you re ordering and what price you re paying. The chow mein was flavourless and too sweet. The hot pot was tasty but nothing special. I was excited to see that they offer dim sum because usually we have to travel to Vancouver for decent dim sum but I am scared to pay their prices and be disappointed. I will say that the wonton soup was excellent though and the waitress was very kind.

It s been almost a month since I came to Kelowna, and I finally had Chinese food that I hadn t seen in a long time. The taste is very authentic. Its hard to find such a good Chinese restaurant here. When the food comes, I just think about eating it and dont take much photos. Will visit again in the future.

I used to like this place, last time I ordered a chicken dish on veggies, (which I have had begore) it came out as bone in pork on hot peppers. I asked what meat it was, and I was told it was chicken. It was NOT chicken, I believe he gave me the wrong dish. Not that it was a substitute. But he insisted. The food was ok otherwise. I dont think I will be back. To respond to owner, I understand the traditional Chinese food. We come there for the authentic food. The item I ordered, i have had before. It was boneless and served on vegetables. I asked the server again if it was the dish I ordered, and I was told yes. I asked where the veggies were, I was told.. I dont know why they didnt serve them. Since we had ordered this item before, and knew it was boneless, my husband broke his tooth biting into it. So, we can chalk it up to miscommunication but since I verified a second time with your server, perhaps the break down is with them. Either way, Im sad that I wont be back, I thought your food was amazing, and now I dont. Not sure if you have a new cook.

LVS must stand for Leave Very Stuffed! We ordered the dinner for 6 combo (there were five of us) and left with a LOT of leftovers. Very nice dishes and some cool ones I hadn t seen before, like honey peach prawns.

Food was ok. Chow mein was under done (never had that before) didnt care for that. Ginger beef was really spicy. Ive had ginger beef many times never that spicy - flavor was ok. Wouldnt recommend.

Excellent Chinese food. By far the best in the Okanagan and having lived in Vancouver and been to China multiple times, I am particular with my Chinese food! Dietary restrictions: They happily accommodated our dietary restrictions.

For context, Im Cantonese, grew up in Richmond, so Im pretty picky about actual Chinese food and Kelowna is... sorely lacking in this department. That being said, LVS is definitely hitting the right notes here. We ordered 3 items: #5 stir fry pork belly ( ), #24 beef chow fun ( ), and curry beef brisket w/rice ( ). The pork belly and beef brisket were great, flavours were exactly what I was expecting. We ordered an extra bowl of rice as the items without rice/noodles dont come with any, and overall the main dish + rice portions were very generously sized and delicious. However, Im knocking off a star as the beef chow fun was Not It (no pic cause we got it to-go). I suspect the chef doesnt understand the dish fundamentally; it is a pretty Cantonese-specific dish. The color of the ho fun was too light (needs dark soy), there were unexpected veggies (peppers, cabbage) but somehow missing bean sprouts? It was pretty underseasoned as well. Based on the pork belly and beef brisket Ill definitely be back to try some of their other items, for anyone else craving beef chow fun, Mekong still seems to be the place to go.

This hidden gem Chinese restaurant the owner is keen to their food quality. Friendly staff, fast, and huge portion. Their taste is authentic Sichuan cuisine, best in town I find! will definitely come back to order more dishes, so yum!

We have tried so many Chinese Restaurants in and around Kelowna over the years. Some are OK, but thats pretty much it. When it comes to authenticity of the food...you are usually out of luck (We have been spoiled with great, authentic Chinese Food while we were living in Vancouver). But then we found LVS! This restaurant has become our go to Chinese Restaurant in town. The food is great and the flavours are very good. We would definitely recommend this restaurant to any of our friends. Give it a try. Its such a great addition to our local ethnic food landscape. Times for restaurants are not easy. Lets support the good restaurants...LVS is definitely one of them!!! Vegetarian options: There are great Vegetarian options on the menu and LVS is always helpful when it comes to provide Vegan options of certain dishes. Dietary restrictions: My wife has a Dairy Allergy and wherever we order from we have to make sure that the items for her are save for her consumption. Many local restaurants do not pay a lot of attention, especially when it comes to cross-contamination, we found that LVS is very accommodating and has always been helpful when it comes to our special requests (modifying dishes for us).
