Yum Yum Tree in Kelowna

We have been coming to yum yum for years, we have never had a bad meal, it is the only Chinese food we get.

McDonalds and pizza beware, this is the better choice for people on the go. Quality cheap chinese food. This is a solid option for a busy weeknight where you want a few good options.

If my son didnt like their BBQ chicken so much I would never go there again. $18 for a large container and we go at least twice a month (sometimes twice a week), but the one woman there...she is such an unpleasant stingy person. Just that one woman...makes me wish theyd get rid of her. Hopefully they get some really good competition in the area so they are forced to take a look at their customer service, portions and prices.

Great food! I live in the area and have eaten here plenty of times. However, their portions have been cut in half and the service was unfriendly. Maybe I will still come, but not as often. oh! If you dont tip, they let you know they are unhappy about it

I was thrilled to discover this place in a little mall. Everything looked great and I loved my combo of sweet and sour pork, breaded shrimp, fried rice and mixed vegetables. I will return again and again. The people there were lovely and the food is very high quality.

This is our favourite place for Chinese in town. Yes, it s food court style but you can also order takeout ahead of time. We find that the meat dishes have so much more flavour compared to other places we ve eaten at in Kelowna (especially the sesame chicken). The service is always great and everyone working is very friendly. It s reasonably priced for what you get too. Keep in mind that prices have gone up everywhere. It s closed Sundays and not open as late as other places but well worth it! Wheelchair accessibility: It s located within a strip mall so it does have adequate parking and ramps. People with wheelchairs can also use the tables there if a chair is moved.

Didn t like the food at all portions were very small for the price not very happy overall I won t be going back.

over a year ago i reviewed this place 5 stars cause it was the best. i have gotten atleast 50 meals from here.always good now the last two times iv came i cant even finish half my combo, soggy food, weird pieces of meat you cant bite into it .used to be my favourite place but now i will never be back. whole new style and taste i dont know what happened

If you want a friendly service, delicious but inexpensive food. This is your place to be. They are constantly refilling their trays with freshly made food from time to time. The best asian take out here in the Okangan. For just under $11 you have 3 different dishes in your plate. Only in Kelowna!

Was double charged for my meal so I went back a couple weeks later and despite having the alert from my bank (which is what notified me) the lady at the counter said she would have to check . I didn t even want my money back, just give me the second meal you already charged me for. After more than 10 minutes of me standing there and her scrolling through the debit machine teams transactions I asked her if I looked like a homeless person trying to scam them. She then reluctantly put the second meal together and handed it over in kind of a rude way. I then told her that when you double charge someone, the correct thing to do is start with I m sorry instead of launching a lengthy investigation into a $13 meal. Perhaps her culture is unaccustomed to apologies and/or a shred of customer service acumen but I definitely won t be supporting this business in the future.

Probably some of the best chinese food I have ever had. I ordered take out for my family, and everything was prepared fresh and hot. The portion sizes were fantastic, and the quality of ingredients was excellent. The meat was very tender, and the vegetables were very fresh. The price for everything was very reasonable. If youre looking for the best chinese food in Kelowna, this is your place!

Grabbed take out a few times here in the past 2 years found it very tasty food. Today I ordered 3 spring rolls and half order of sweet and sour pork and half order of sesame chicken, the cost was $19.95. Inflation has impacted all of us, but to charge people $19.95 for a small order is shocking. Will not be returning.

I ve always loved the sisters who run the YumYum Tree in the food court at capri CENTER mall. It s always been mine and my sons Friday night dinner. The food is delectable while the wait can be long ( the food is well worth it). My sole issue and ONE STAR loss is the new debit machine: I refuse to be forced to TIP when I go for pickup by a machine that forces me to select NO TIP in order to pay for my purchase. What s next a 30% tip at Tim hortons? Great food, great service , but no delivery if delivery was offered the 5 stars for a service tip to driver. Thanks all.

I really like YumYum Tree. The family that owns it is just wonderful, and they have been doing it there for I think 26 years now. With that said they probably know what they are doing, they are very friendly and the food is amazing, the BBQ chicken is mouth watering, a must have.

This is a total Hidden Gem. It looks like just a little hole in the wall restaurant in and out of the way Mall. But they have some of the best sesame chicken in town if not the best. Yum Yum tree is one of my favorite places to treat myself. Good people and great food

Asked for a small #2, was given a large #2 and when I stated I askws for a small the employee rudely said I should have said that at the beginning to which I replied I did. She made the meal smaller and when I say smaller it was less than half the size. I should have waited to see the meal before I paid. Thats on me. The taste of the meal was at best, OK, the size was ridiculous. $9.39 for 3 prawns, 4 little sweet and sour pork and a couple of forks chow mein. Stay clear of here if you can.

Wow! I can not tell you how incredible this was. The service was great and as my friend and I sat to eat our food we watched one of the women behind the counter take time to carry a tray for an elderly gentleman, add the cream and sugar to his coffee so he didnt have to get up and do it himself. The food was delicious, hot and fresh! The meat actually had meat in it, not just bread and sauce. The veggies were not over cooked. There was good sized and lots of pieces of vegetables in the chow mein. I am impressed and will recommend this place to anyone.

I cannot say enough about how impressed about this place I am. I never have high expectations of food court Chinese but there was meat in the ginger beef - not mostly breading, veggies were not over cooked and the food was not overly greasy. Beyond coming for great food, my friend and I had a feel good experience as well. The staff were friendly to us, but we also witnessed during a rush them take the time to carry the tray for an elderly patron and ask how they would like their coffee and not just bring the creamer and sugar, but also prepare the cup for them! Love this!

The food at Yum Yum Tree looks good. But traveling from out of province, we googled best Chinese restraunts. Drove to this mall thinking we were going to sit down and enjoy some good food. We were very disappointed to find a food court Yum Yum Tree. This should not be listed under restraunts. Even if the food is great. A disappointed John from Sask.

Honestly the best Chinese in Kelowna based on consistency/options/price There are a few places that are known as the best for Chinese in Kelowna but this place is my fav. 14 bucks for a loaded 4 item combo and Ive never once been disappointed and Ive been coming here for like ten years.

It s a food court style Chinese place which I wouldn t normally rate more than a 4 star but food is always fresh (busy place so the food turns over) and the service is really friendly (much better than the place at the mall). The portions are much smaller than the mall but so are the prices so I m okay with that. Definitely worth a try for quick takeout.

I went to Yum Yum Tree for my birthday once. I didnt go until my next birthday. They hadnt seen me in exactly a year, but immediately remembered me. Their amazing personal touch (and memory) has made my family and I customers for life. Also, the chow mein and veggies are the best Ive ever had! Highly recommend.

Why are negative reviews being deleted? I ate here. It was horrible. Yet my review was deleted. Ginger beef was taking from a vat of brown liquid. Disgusting. I was shocked because of all the positive reviews. Now I know why. Someone is getting negatives removed. Google?

The food is fantastic. Well, other than the chow mein which is very average and not great. You are likely to enjoy everything you try, but my favourite is the BBQ chicken and Sesame Chicken. The only reason I am giving it 4 stars now instead of 5, is that it is getting expensive. When I first found it, the prices were great and they really packed in everything. It was a small Styrofoam container, but they filled it with lots of chow mein and a good amount of everything else, sometime it was hard to close. The last few times I have been there I noticed it went up in price and they are giving from my perspective quite a bit less. They dont pack it anymore, there is lots of room left and I realized I can get more from other locations for cheaper or similar price. Course how good the flavours are does help. But two 4 items dinners are now $26. Although, it is still not outrageous pricing, it is noticeably different and I can say that it is no longer as great of a deal as it was before. So I no longer go that often.
