My favorite place in Kelowna to have poutine especially the boneless chicken poutine, friendly staff with fast service as always we go there. Most of my weekends are in smokes poutine and we Love it.

Overpriced for what you get. Place needed a scrub down. Its greasy food so if its what your craving itll do.

Could hardly stomach the poutine after being in the disgusting washroom. It was so dirty. The poutine bacon was nasty and I couldn t get it down. Staff was unenthused and did the bare minimum.

I start with venting about the decoration and space: No effort or tastefulness was put into creating a pleasant space in the most popular spot of a tourist city. Such a pity. We tried the traditional poutine, pierogi poutine and Korean BBQ one. the BBQ tasted okay, the other two were far too salty for my taste.

Correct poutine for the west, it lacks cheese and the sauce could be thicker and the poutine is literally swimming in it but Ive seen worse.

Best poutine in town!!!! And sukhman is the best

Food: Unfortunately no recommendation for this snack bar. We didnt like the toppings. In the end we only ate a few fries and unfortunately had to throw most of them away. Service: We fluctuated between small and large portions - a large portion is apparently designed for 2-3 people, which the employee unfortunately didnt tell us, although he would have had the opportunity to do so. Ambiance: snack bar style

Great place to grab the Canadian classic Poutine

Always a treat. Good food and generous portion.

The price was very, very high for a side dish sized serving, but they did not lack in flavor.

So busy you couldnt even park or go inside. Ordering delivery seemed to be easier. So delicious, had the triple pork. Food : 4/5

The person taking order couldn t speak English Took 10 min for 3 orders of popcorn chicken Expensive!!!!! 2 regular 1 large 3 power aids $67!!!!

The food was absolutely terrible - and tasted mouldy. It was filthy with unclean tables and the only staff member going between the till and kitchen without gloves or washing her hands. The outdoor patio had a buggy full of garbage and tables and chairs stacked.

Just recently ordered from door dash. The gravy was better than the last time I ordered.

Nice staff let down by food that has just decided to phone it in with the help of chef microwave. We were excited to try and left sad that we did.

Decent poutine all around. Theres lots of different options but I haven t really been in awhile as they removed my favourite poutine from the menu. In a pinch, it s quick, easy and right downtown.

Shocking shortage I ve ordered b4 so I KNOW what size box you usually get $29 for $3 worth of fries And they were OLD fries 3 tiny pieces of old stringy chicken. Shameful really to be ripping off the public this way will be reviewing online as well so other hard working people don t waste their money. I d give less than 1 star but can t. Check out the size of that $29.00 box in comparison to a standard kitchen fork What a joke.

I go here once a year for a turkey dinner. Poutine, otherwise its too pricey for my budget.

I was very disappointed with their Buffalo Chicken Chicken and Traditional poutine.

Not a fan of their fries , even though all 6 of my kids and husband do !! They make great tater tots and Ive all the stuff they put on top the poutine !! Great food ;)

Paid 47 dollars with delivery for a regular poutine and nacho taters. Asked for Xtra crispy for both got a brick of soggy taters and fries had to recook them with the the massive 2 Oz cup of diced chicken for 5 dollars, sad portions of everything for the price. Fool me once poutinerie, wont fool me twice. Highly disappointing!!

Was excited to try this place, sadly disappointed. The fires were old and gross and the cheese wasn t even melted. Cold squeaky cheese. Over priced for what you get. Save your self the disappointment and eat somewhere else.

Smokes is consistently good all over, but the Kelowna location is especially clean and the staff were very friendly.

Gravy was not what you would expect from a poutine place. Hot sauce siracha was watered down and oddly the vinegar was watered down. This is coming from multiple orders from people with different preferences.

First time trying this poutine and would highly recommend, delicious definitely will be going back. In the pic is the avalanche poutine it is amazing

Great selection of poutines. Good size portion but I didn t like the fries- they didn t seem fresh & they were not fresh cut. Service was fast. Would not return. Vegetarian options: I liked the vegetarian gravy option

We ordered the Korean bbq because it was recommended. The server didn t tell us it was a 9-10 spice. We asked for it to be fixed because we had no idea it was so spicy. He said the only thing he could do was offer us ketchup. Was a little disappointed for a $20 poutine

I have always been a fan of Smokes - I quite enjoyed their poutine in Halifax, Ottawa and Vancouver (before it closed). The Kelowna location was ok - the gravy was really watery and the poutine was quite plain and tasteless. I had the 2x pork - there was a decent amount of meat however there were only about 7 cheese curds in the whole thing, which was disappointing. I wouldnt go back to this location. I hope that Smokes other restaurants still have quality poutine and gravy and that the recipe ingredient quality hasnt gone down across Canada.

I would definitely not repeat, the fries were undercooked and very starchy tasting. I so wanted to love this place

I know its a poutinary. I went there just for fries cause I was hungry and it was late. So it takes 2 minutes, but the fries were leftovers and too hard. Is that the poutine fries? I hope the gravy isnt watered down Cook some new fries I gave them to a homeless man, and he threw them out. Its my first time here and I think that it would be good but thats the opposite. I hope thats not the quality they are going to give on there cross country tour. NEVER AGAIN

Best snack to get on the way home from a night on the town

Havent really been here since new management. Tried one today. The fries were obviously either incredibly stale, or the fryers are not being cleaned properly. Could barely finish half of the poutine. Upon walking in, it smells like wet potatoes, and not in a good way. Definitely wont be back anytime soon. Only saving grace was the gravy, and the popcorn chicken I had in my poutine was good. Ive been to several other locations in the past and have never been this disappointed.

We paid $50 for this, I was expecting a bigger portion. The poutine is pretty packed but it s 80% fries that you re paying a HUGE price for. Each ran us almost $20 for a tad bit more poutine than you can get at McDonald s for $6. Pretty average tasting, kinda dry, barely got any cheese curds. Idk I think I ll just make my own from now on.

Just got a poutine today and it was pretty nasty. Its taste like the oil they used was old and stale. Totally killed my appetite.

6/24/2023 Edit: Tried them again and was disgusted. The fries were nearly raw and still somewhat tough. The whole meal ended up becoming watery because of how moist the fries were still. There was no crispiness to be found. Absolutely disappointed. Management doesnt seem to understand that skimping on quality and portions to increase profit margin a bit will only kill your food business and long term profit. People know when theyre being cheated and will go elsewhere. Step your game up, be generous and ensure your employees know how to properly cook the dishes. That is how you will build loyal customers. Old Review: Awesome selection, great taste and friendly staff. Cant go wrong with a classic Canadian food.

Excellent, delicious and filling

I have never been so disappointed in a restaurant or fast food restaurant. I ordered one butter chicken and one traditional with a garlic and beef ALLERGY. We then asked if the bill was correct because it seemed expensive for what we ordered, the cashier insured us our order was correct. They gave us 2 with extra beef and one butter chicken. We told him our order was wrong. And asked for refund for the 2 regular sized beef. And he insisted that we were wrong. We asked for a remake we ended up getting a poutine with garlic in it and had an anaphylactic reaction to the poutine. We called back after to let them know since there was a line in the store and got hung up on 3 times. Im in the service industry myself and have truly never been so disappointed. Dietary restrictions: DID NOT RESPECT AN ALLERGY AFTER TELLING THEM MULTIPLE TIMES.

Gravy tastes watery and like it s made with dish water. Fries were old and nothing special. There s better places for poutine these days. It s a shame because this place rocked back in the day but now standards have slipped and the quality is very poor. Staff are really helpful and friendly though.

Cheese is rubbery but its not just bad.... its really really weird. Similar to chewing an eraser. You may think its an overreaction but theres no other way to describe it. Dont normally write 1 star reviews but wow.

If there in one place to avoid in Kelowna downtown, this place deserves the spot. The place was empty when we walked in on Tuesday when the other restaurants were buzzing with life. We were in a rush and wanted to grab something quick for the kids. The fries were dry and the sauce was watery. How could they mess up the fries that they were supposed to excel at? I am glad I didn t order anything else.

Bacon cheeseburger poutine is sad. Little bacon flavor, bland beef, nothing to define this as its name. Just lost of soft mushy fries with some kind of flavorless meat. The squeaky cheese curds were ok. Id rather have a fast food poutine.

Food is good, but with new ownership it seems like they just close whenever they want. Hours that are on google are entirely inaccurate. Have tried to stop by multiple times over the past month or 2, every time was well before their posted closing time, but yet they were closed each time.

I always have a great experience at smokes and never leave hungry! Fantastic job crew!

First visit....Definitely fresh but maybe 6 or 7 bland curds if I was lucky in a regular order. My son who had a small size had more actual curds... Mine was more like fries and tiny amount of gravy. New York Fries has more consistent servings. Now that Ive had it, experienced it... wont be upset if I dont bother again.

The amount of cheese vs the rest is not worth it. The poutine as a whole is not good. The fries lack seasoning. Its ready in like 2min... that explains everything. We had the cheese burger and the boneless buffalo chicken. Honestly, if youre craving poutine... its better to go to McDonalds than there. Lets hope its a mistake and Im wrong.

Uber Eats glitched before I could leave a review and thats not okay - these fries were the crispiest, most delightful portrayal of a potato that I have ever experienced. Super good. And Im not a Poutine person (i know theyre so good) so I get Fries and gravy. Its sooo sooo good and fresh!!! The staff work really hard in the crazy heat in the kitchen!!! Franchise restaurant located in downtown Kelowna unapologetic for the cholesterol and calories presumed to be in the flavorful generous poutine servings. Tried the Philly Cheese Steak, Chicken Ranch Bacon and the Triple Pork poutine meals. Awesome especially for a damp winter night by Lake Okanagan.

If you are a foreign tourist who wants to enjoy poutine in Kelowna, I believe this is the right place. Very tasty. I tried Pork Pulled and Chicken Inferno. Both were awesome.

My partner ordered the WOW Poutine for delivery. It was so dry and chalky by the time it got to our house, it came out of the container as a condensed brick. The fries were very dry and the gravy was a mediocre taste. May try again one day if we have money to potentially waste, but if your looking for your moneys worth, Id try elsewhere.

I counted 3 cheese curds, 1 mushroom slice and 4 thin slices of steak on my Philly poutine! Had to ask for more gravy as it was dry! Fries are terrible and I think the only reason this place is rated highly is the fact it has variety and it open late! Needs to work on their fries and quantity of ingredients big time! Very dissatisfied

Super excited to check this place out since theyve been here since 2008. But I have to say I am not impressed. Fries were soggy. Gravy was sub par it tasted water down, the bacon wasnt even crispy. They didnt bother to pat it down with paper towel to take off the grease which would have helped it keep crispy but the biggest let down was the amount of cheese curds we received. I kid you not for a regular or medium size less than 8 pieces. Would rather spend my money at New York fries. I wouldnt be let down as bad as this place

To begin with the poutine had close to know gravy on both fries were not crispy but very soggy and there wasnt very many of the topping for how much you pay. My boyfriend and I went it in last night and had to wait a very long time to get our food and paid alot when we finally got it we rushed out the door because it was paid parking, when we go to eat we realize his food didnt have the extra meat we ordered and that his bottled ice tea was opened and half drank!!!!!! Obviously we were in a rush and didnt have time to go all the way back so I called the store no one answered left a voicemail and havent heard back since plus I have called several times today.
